After, WhatsApp struck off BBM from messaging world, it shall soon bring in a feature which shall allow its users to integrate their Facebook account with the world's top messaging app. The description put against this update states that the integration will "improve Facebook experiences."

The version 2.12.413 of WhatsApp for Android reveals company's intention to allow users to link the messaging service with their respective Facebook account, as spotted by Android developer Javier Santos.

The new addition, as seen in the screenshot, appears on the Account settings of the app, and queries users whether they want to share their WhatsApp account information with Facebook. Evidently, its optional.

Facebook acquired WhatsApp in a billion dollar deal in 2014. Post acquisition, it was always on the cards to have FB and WhatsApp share features on both platforms.

Fans of Apple's shiny products, rejoice! The Cupertino-based company has been tipped to launch a 4-inch iPhone - dubbed iPhone 5se - new Apple Watch models, and possibly an iPad Air 3 at an event in March, according to a report by someone with a reliable track record.

Chatter around a 4-inch iPhone - the supposedly true successor to the iPhone 5s for people who don't crave for a large display - has been circulating for more than a year now. Previously dubbed the iPhone 6c or iPhone 7c, or even iPhone 5e - the phone will actually be called the iPhone 5se, reports 9to5Mac.

Apple reportedly plans to launch the iPhone 5se - wherein se stands for special edition - alongside a new Apple Watch with minor improvements at its March event. Apple is also said to have plans to launch another Apple Watch dubbed Apple Watch 2 later this year around September with major hardware improvements and design changes. 9to5Mac further adds that the company is also aiming to launch the iPad Air 3 at the event, however, the plans could change later.

Previous reports suggest the upcoming 4-inch iPhone will have the same hardware specifications as the iPhone 5s, but it seems Apple has bigger plans. The new report claims that iPhone 5se will also borrow some features from the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 5se will sport a curved glass as previously seen on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s smartphones. The supposedly imminent handset will be powered by A8 SoC and M8 motion coprocessor as seen on the iPhone 6. As for connectivity features, the iPhone 5se will support 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and VoLTE, as seen on the iPhone 6s.

Other features tipped around the iPhone 5se include an 8-megapixel iSight (rear camera), and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime (front-facing camera) - the sensor combinations previously seen on the iPhone 6. The new iPhone will also support larger panoramas and autofocus for video recording. The handset will purportedly support Live Photos, a feature currently exclusively available on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 5se will also come equipped with an NFC chip to facilitate Apple Pay, the company's mobile payments solution.

The report claims that the iPhone 5se will come in Silver, Space Gray, and Rose Gold colour combinations - as seen on the iPhone 6s/ 6s Plus lineup.

How govt is cheating common public in the name of Swachh Bharat Cess

This diwali government exploded a huge bomb not only on India Inc. but common public as well. In Budget 2015 finance minister made way for levy of Swachh Bharat Cess (SBC) to the extent of max 2% on all or select services. This clearly meant hike in cost of services.

On November 6, 2015 CBEC issued notifications levying SBC to the extent of 0.5% on taxable services from November 15, 2015. On plain reading, it seems a very concerned government as they levied only 0.5% and not 2% but unfortunately, that's not case. Let's see how:

These notifications issued by CBEC did not provide any clarity on credit admissibility of SBC (credit admissibility is embedded in a tax chain to set off tax paid on input services against tax paid on output services and only tax charged on final leg is received by government). Based on industry representations, few days later, CBEC clarified through a press release and FAQs that 'credit of SBC would not be available'. This announcement has a huge impact. Negative!

No cenvat credit of SBC means this will have a cascading effect - tax on tax effect. Therefore, the effective tax rate will be higher than 14.5% (14% ST + 0.5% SBC). This will eventually hit P&L or be passed on to consumer. In all likelihood, it will be passed on to consumer. On the other hand, government collects much more revenue than it would have had it allowed credit of SBC.

It seems a very smart move of fooling people and generating higher revenue. So, the concerned reduced levy of 0.5% and not 2% is spoiled by inadmissibility of cenvat credit as the ultimate effect could by 2% or higher. All this would eventually bring hike in services costing and taxes applicable on it. Bad days for consumers!

Net Neutrality is where the internet service provider (ISP) serves you data plans without getting to choose how you use the data. The deal is that ISP should not, in any manner, be able to control usage of your data plan.

Now, you would think that this how it happens as on date - so what's the fuss about?

The fuss is that ISPs i.e. telecom companies are trying to change this. Anti net neutrality plans are being set up by ISPs to control the usage of consumers fearing that they will slowly loose existence. Already, the have lost messaging to likes of Whatsapp, Hike and Viber.

India has always been land of spices, rice, wheat an pulses - basically all the major raw ingredients that help complete a meal. It has always been India's brightest attributes.

When Portugese, British and French came to India, they brought their touch to Indian food and that remix called 'Anglo-Indian' food made everyone lick their fingers.

We bring you three of India's best lost recipes:

1. Goalando Steamer Chicken Curry

The story goes that this curry gets its name from a steamer that ferried people across the Padma River that runs through Bangladesh and India (where it is called the Ganges).

The cooks on the boat served passengers unlimited rice and lentil soup, or dal, but only two pieces of chicken.

This is my version of Goalando Steamer Chicken Curry, based on a number of recipes that I have tried over the years. No water is used and the gravy is formed from the liquid released by sweating the onions, which takes on a beautiful red hue.

5 cups chicken (or one whole chicken cut in pieces)
6 sliced onions
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons freshly minced garlic
2 tablespoons freshly minced ginger
8 dry red chilies ground into a paste
8 sliced green chilies
½ cup mustard oil
1 teaspoon salt

Method: Marinate the chicken in all the ingredients and keep in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Heat a pan and add the marinated chicken. Cook the chicken on a high heat for two minutes, until the chicken starts to change color.

Turn the flame to medium, cover and cook. Check and stir every few minutes. In about 20-30 minutes it should be done. A lovely reddish gravy from the juice of the onions should have formed by now. Do not add any water.

I add sugar to impart a sweet balance and caramelize the onions as well, but you can skip the sugar in the marinade if you like.

Serve with a bowl of steaming hot rice.

2. Ball Curry

This Anglo-Indian recipe also has Portuguese flavors. It is spicy, yet tangy and served with coconut rice. Can't rely understand how it got lost. Such is the great taste!

Meat balls

5 cups of minced goat, beef or mutton (one kilo or two pounds minced meat)
1 chopped onion
4 finely chopped green chilies
10 finely chopped curry leaves
2 cups finely chopped cilantro

Curry paste

(to be used in the meat balls and the curry)

2 teaspoons garam masala powder
3 tablespoons freshly grated coconut
3 teaspoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon garlic paste
3 tablespoons cumin powder

For the curry

3 boiled and diced potatoes
1 cup chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon tamarind paste
1 cup whipped yogurt
1 cup coconut milk
1 chopped tomato
1 sliced onion
10 curry leaves

Method: Mix all the meatball ingredients with 1½ teaspoons of salt and 1/3 of the curry paste. Set aside in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

To make the curry, add oil to a pan on medium heat. Then add the sliced onions and curry leaves. Fry the onions until they are golden brown. Lower the heat and add the remaining curry paste. Fry for five minutes. You could add a tablespoon of water if the paste looks like it is starting to stick.

Then add the tomato and sauté, followed by the coconut milk, yogurt and tamarind paste. Stir and add a cup of hot water. Add salt to taste and the cilantro leaves and let it simmer.

To make the meat balls, form small balls, about an inch in diameter. You should be able to make about 30 meat balls. Heat oil in a pan and fry the meat balls until they are browned on the outside. Then add them to the simmering curry. Add the diced potatoes. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

Coconut rice

2 cups Basmati rice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 sliced onion
1 bay leaf
2 whole dried red chilies
2 sticks of cinnamon
4 cloves
4 green cardamom (bash it slightly so the husks open up)
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 ½ teaspoons turmeric powder
2 cups coconut milk
2 cups hot water
1 teaspoon salt

Method: Soak the rice in water for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Add the vegetable oil to a pan on medium heat. Add the cinnamon, clove, bay leaf and cardamom. As the mix splutters, add the sliced onions. Let the onions turn translucent. Then add the dried red chilies and cook for a minute. Add the ginger and garlic paste and sauté. Then add the turmeric powder while mixing vigorously. You can add a tablespoon of water if you feel the spices are sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Now add the rice. Sauté for two minutes then add the coconut milk and water. Stir well. Add salt, stir well and cover the pan.

Cook on low heat for 15 to 18 minutes. When it looks like the rice has soaked in the liquid, remove from the heat, lift the lid and let the rice breathe for 10 minutes. This makes sure that the rice stays fluffy and doesn’t stick together. Serve with the Ball Curry

As i begin to write my thoughts, the first thought that crossed my mind when i planned to write this was 'will the readers link me to a specific political party?'. Therefore, before i write any further, i would like to state that this is on behalf an Indian and has got nothing to do with marketing or defamation of any political party or politician.

For all those who believe that a political party or a superman politician can bring back this nation from crunches to up and running, i am sorry but please think again. Sadly, we belong to a country where our beloved PM has to launch a cleanliness drive to make people realize 'Oh! we live in a dirty land, we need to clean'. But what do we (the people of India) make of it?

We take it to be the best time to show off by clicking some pics and posting on social networking sites. Sad!!! Very Sad!!! Had the campaign not been launched, we would have still continued to litter roads. Not that we don't do it today but some people are actually contributing to this campaign.

Mr. Modi - who is dreaming of a progressive India and Mr. Kejriwal - who wants a corruption free nation cannot help our nation until we allow them to help us. It is only us (the people of India) who can (rather, have to) change and mend our ways of living.

I hope we are not waiting for the day where our PM launches a campaign 'Stop car behind zebra crossing'. Such a simple thing but we ourselves don't follow traffic rules. This is just one example from one walk of life.

Think of... What if no one gives bribe? What if we stop taking bribe? What if we all start to follow traffic rules? What if we stop promoting black money? What if we stop cheating our customers? What if we start to show come patience on streets?

and it is not tough to implement. When we travel abroad, we are all praise for the system they have and we overlook the people of that nation who respects its system and follows it with utmost intention. Even we follow their system with complete sincerity, then why not follow our system?

In reality, we don't love our nation, we only fake to love our nation. We love our communities, we love our religion and we love our ego (please don't mix it with self respect). That's it!!!

In India, we don't fill money in our pockets, we fill it in our heads and then talk with money. All that we communicate is a high headed, ego filled piece of shit!!!

We don't wish to abide by the laws, breaking law is cool and if we have money or position - Ahh! who they hell is law?. As soon a law is made, its loopholes are marketed to general public and the country continues to be in mess.

The nation won't alone grow by economic policies that government makes, it will grow by the respect we show for women and other communities and religion, it will grow by the humanity we display on streets, it will grow by our pledge to live a proper life wherein we do not need any politician to tell us what to do.

It will only grow, if we change! Until we change, stop expecting a better India!

All about Flash Mob

In today's time when social media is at the helm of communication world, flash mob is that baby of social media which has caught world's attention by storm. In fact, flash mob is precisely meant to do that i.e. catch attention. Feminism in nature in that sense but we love it, don't we.

If you go by the dictionary meaning of the term 'Flash Mob', coined in 2003, it means:

'A large public gathering at which people perform an unusual or seemingly random act and then disperse, typically organized by means of internet or social media.'

For practical purposes, Flash mob is typically done for the purposes of entertainment, satire, artistic expressions and sometimes for expressing dissent, may be revolting in a non-violence manner. If put together efficiently it has the power and potential to strike big in terms of meeting what it was intended for.

India's first real sensational flash mob took place in Mumbai at a railway station in 2011. It was the day which celebrated third anniversary of 26/11 (terrorist attack in India). 200 dancers grooved to the tune of 'Rang de Basanti' to pay tribute to all the people who lost their lives in that attack.

Since then there have been many other flash mobs with specific intentions. Not just India, people from across globe have started to use flash mob as a burly mean to let it out. Some people mistake planned events for flash mob. Any planned event or performances organized for advertisement or politics etc can not be termed as flash mob.

While social media has been instrumental in engaging people to concept of flash mob, one other very significant ingredient is 'spread the word' concept. Reaching out to people from all casts, culture and religions of society multiplies the impact of flash mob esp if done for a social cause.
