We're officially past Prime Day now. But if you know Amazon, then you know some of the best deals are still live. So, if you're in need of fresh earbuds, you're in luck.

As of June 27, the Bose Ultra Open earbuds are still on sale at Amazon for $199, a cool $100 discount from their usual price of $299. This matches the earbuds' record-low price at Amazon. Multiple Mashable reporters have tested these buds, and they've received a unanimous recommendation so far. In fact, this innovative product helped push open earbuds into the mainstream, inspiring a host of imitators. Like bone-conduction products, they also keep you in tune with your surroundings, which makes them popular with runners and athletes.

The Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds are some of the best I've tried, but even at their sale price, they're a hefty investment. While the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds don't quite match up in sound quality, they still have some of the best noise cancellation available, and are the most comfortable earbuds I've ever tried. Bose was the near-undisputed champion of open earbuds with top-notch sound — that is, until the Sony LinkBuds Clip came along. In my head-to-head testing of the earbuds, I found that while the Bose Ultra Open buds can get louder (an important feature in open earbuds), the clarity and detail of the sound in the Sony buds surpassed that of the Bose. Even though their price discrepancy is only $20 this Prime Day, the sub-$200 price point on the Sony earbuds is hard to pass up.

According to the price tracker camelcamelcamel, the Pro 3 buds got down to $169 at Amazon, but in the final hours of the sale, that specific deal left. You can still find them for $179 and in stock at Amazon.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip give the ultra-popular Bose Ultra Open earbuds a run for their money. In my head-to-head testing of the two pairs of earbuds, I found that while the Bose buds generally lean louder, the Sony earbuds have a more detailed sound profile, making for an overall superior listening experience. They also have a longer battery life, delivering nine hours per charge, while the Bose earbuds deliver seven.

Twitchs CEO says passive scrolling cant beat the community of live streaming

If there's one thing Twitch CEO Dan Clancy wants people to know about what makes Twitch special, it's that the live streaming site is all about community.

"Social media, interestingly, has become anti-social," Clancy said during a fireside chat titled, Why Live is the Future of Connection: From Passive Scrolling to Real Connection at VidCon 2026. "It started as a technology that connected us with people, but now sitting and swiping actually leaves you a little more isolated. It doesn't make you feel connected, and that's why live is coming on strong now."

So what is it about Twitch that fosters community? According to Clancy, the platform encourages people to stay with their streamer for longer than the seconds they might spend with someone on TikTok. When a streamer takes some time off, their audience notices their absence in a way they might not with a TikTok creator. And then there's the magic of reacting to the same content with the rest of the chat in real-time.

"People often think sports are about watching the world's best athletes. It's not about that at all. It's about community, right? It's about shared identity," he said during the talk. "Twitch actually is the same thing where the affinity that you're gathering around is a streamer, but then you form these bonds horizontally, so the same thing that happens in sports is exactly what happens on Twitch."

Still, creating community can come with its challenges.

Creator discoverability on Twitch is lacking, but that might change

Clancy encouraged creators to use more than one platform, noting that Twitch content often finds its way onto other platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

"Use short form for discovery [and] use long form to build an emotional connection and to earn a living," Clancy said during his talk.

Still, smaller- to midsize streamers have long struggled with a lack of discoverability on the platform itself, as it doesn't push algorithmic recommendations nearly as aggressively as YouTube or TikTok. Clancy told Mashable that's by design.

"If I said, I'm going to solve the discovery problem, the only way I could fully solve it is by taking them off your page, putting more stuff on your page to distract them, more stuff to get them away from you. And that is exactly what our creators don't want," Clancy said.

Still, he acknowledged a desire for some kind of fix. He shared that Twitch is working on bringing short-form content to the platform in a way that makes sense, by investing in a feature called Recaps. Clancy described it as an evolution of Twitch's existing story feature, intended to show users clips from recent streams that the streamer selects after going live.

"I think the thing that will benefit our creators the most is if the creators are able to easily create short form and viewers are watching it more on Twitch," he said to Mashbale.

How generative AI fits into the Twitch ecosystem

During his talk on stage, Clancy responded to concerns about AI, saying that while Twitch has a plan in place if AI channels run more rampant, for the time being, it's limited to a handful that are clearly identifiable as AI, and in his opinion, not engaging enough to hold a viewer's attention for the same amount of time as a human creator can.

When speaking to Mashable, Clancy also pointed to the ways AI can be leveraged to improve the viewer experience, saying a large language model could improve upon the existing AutoMod feature, which automatically flags and holds potentially inappropriate messages in a streamer's chat.

The creators of Twitch are growing beyond gamers

At its core, Twitch is an entertainment platform. While traditionally that was rooted in gaming, over the years it's become more and more common for artists, musicians, actors, and even animal sanctuaries to find a home on the platform. Clancy said the shift in the user base over time has been like "night and day."

"Now, when I meet an actor, musician, almost 70 percent of the time when they hear I'm the CEO of Twitch, they go, 'Oh, yeah, I've been thinking I should do something.'"

Safety concerns ahead of the next TwitchCon

Community, however, doesn't work without safety. Last year, Twitch faced backlash after streamer Emiru was assaulted at last year's TwitchCon. Prior to the convention's start, major streamers like Hasan Piker, Valkyrae, and QTCinderella said they would not be attending the conference due to safety concerns. Ahead of this year's conference, Clancy assured that Twitch has measures in place to prevent any future incidents.

"We've updated how we do meet and greets so that they're more structured. We don't allow signups on the day of; you have to reserve a spot. So that restricts it a little bit, but it restricts us in a way to protect the creators," he told Mashable. "So I feel very confident about where we're at right now, in terms of our ability to make sure something like that doesn't happen again."

The Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is the most affordable Fire TV Stick in Amazon's lineup that offers 4K quality with HDR10+ support, as well as Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It still features the old Android-based operating system, which can be slightly laggy, but overall it's well-loved by many longtime users. It also still allows for sideloading apps if you're into that. (Starting with the 4K Select model, all future Fire TV Sticks will switch to the Linux-based Vega operating system).

Why we like it

I'd be remiss not to mention the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Select deal for just $9.99. It was one of Mashable shoppers' favorite deals during Black Friday and it has returned for Prime Day 2026 in all its glory.

A few things to note: the 4K Select is Amazon's newest Fire TV Stick that offers 4K quality with HDR10+ support and the first to feature the new Linux-based Vega operating system. What does that mean for you? If you thought the older Fire TV Sticks were a little laggy or slow, the new operating system should feel more speedy and streamlined. If you like to sideload apps, this streaming stick won't allow you to do that (you're better off with an older model).

You'll need to select the on-page coupon code (if you're one of the lucky ones that can see it) to score the deal. Still, $9.99 for a streaming stick feels almost like stealing.

GTA VI Online release date: What we know so far

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders started on Thursday, with lots of folks presumably eager to spend as much as $100 on the hotly anticipated game before its November release. But one major question remains: What's happening with the online mode?

The GTA Online component of Grand Theft Auto V has kept that 13-year-old game relevant across three console generations, with a recent leak suggesting Rockstar makes as much as $500 million annually from microtransactions alone. One would think that means GTA VI will have a similar online offering available at launch, but that isn't the case. Per a Rockstar statement given to IGN, as well as all available marketing language on digital storefronts, GTA VI is a "single-player experience."

That means there will be no online component at launch, nor has Rockstar announced any intention of adding one after launch. Sadly, that is all the concrete information anyone can provide right now.

However, that doesn't mean all hope is lost. It's worth remembering that both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 launched as solo experiences and got online modes later, though it was only a matter of months in both cases. Given that Rockstar hasn't even said if there will be a new GTA Online experience for VI, it's probably safe to assume the wait will be longer this time.

The fact that the existing GTA Online is so wildly successful (with no signs of slowing down) means Rockstar isn't necessarily incentivized to make a new one right away. It also means Rockstar has to decide if it wants to keep two different GTA Online experiences running at the same time, should GTA VI ever get one. As IGN noted, Grand Theft Auto publisher Take-Two currently supports two different NBA 2K Online games in the Asian market; the first launched in 2012 and its sequel in 2017, but they're both popular enough to coexist to this day.

Unfortunately, we don't have a definitive answer on when we'll get a new GTA Online mode tied to the new game, but hey, single-player games aren't so bad. I'm sure there will be plenty of hours of entertainment to be had in GTA VI as it is.

The Bear reheats The Pitts nachos in a baffling Season 5: Review

The stakes going into The Bear Season 5 are enormous.

Within the show, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Natalie (Abby Elliott) are reeling from Carmy's (Jeremy Allen White) shocking Season 4 decision to quit the industry. Outside the world of the show, The Bear is hoping to end on a high note, especially after two frustratingly self-indulgent seasons that ran in circles. So, how does The Bear go big for its final season? What spectacular trick is it hiding up its chef's jacket sleeves?

Simple. It reheats The Pitt's nachos — then artfully re-plates them and drizzles them with Michelin-worthy garnishes — by setting the season over the course of one day.

That day is the one directly following Season 4's conclusion, when the clock officially ran out for the Bear. Now, Uncle Jimmy (Oliver Platt) plans to sell the building, while Sydney, Richie, and Natalie try to get through one last service with their staff. Hopefully, this will be the one that earns them a Michelin star — that is, if a gargantuan storm doesn't interfere with their plans.

The first seven episodes of the season that were sent to critics (there are eight in total) unfold almost in real time, beginning with the staff's journeys to the Bear, then moving through prep and service. In a post-Pitt world, The Bear's choice to set its final season over one day is a confusing one, even if it ties into the show's oft-repeated mantra that "every second counts." Obviously, The Pitt isn't the only TV show set in real time. There's 24, the godfather of the genre, as well as recent additions like Hijack. Yet The Bear's thematic focus on stressful work environments, mental health, and work-life balance makes the comparison to The Pitt near-impossible to ignore. Given that The Bear felt like a breath of fresh air in its first season, it's a shame that the core conceit of its last outing is so inseparable from another acclaimed series.

However, the single-day structure does offer The Bear a chance to go back to the basics of what made it tick so well in the first place. For starters, you won't find any standalone character- or event-focused episodes this season. While some of these kinds of episodes, like Season 2's "Forks" and "Fishes," remain series highs, later examples, like Season 4's "Bears," became the clearest proof of The Bear's overindulgence (especially its distracting reliance on stunt casting).

Instead, Season 5 hones in on this last service with a concentration that mirrors its characters' near-obsession with getting the night right. That tighter focus whips up a stressful pressure cooker that recalls Season 1's most harrowing, scream-filled moments, and you can always count on The Bear to alleviate some of that stress with a heaping dash of competency porn from its team. But the real winner here is The Bear's food scenes. In Season 3 and especially Season 4, The Bear spent more time outside the kitchen, and therefore away from cooking. By spending most of Season 5 in the restaurant proper, The Bear zeroes back in on food, delivering mouth-watering sequences rooted in character and story. Each dish has deep ties to the person who made it, sometimes recalling moments from all the way back in Season 1. The ever-evolving menu and the loving way the food is shot are perhaps the best sendoffs The Bear could ask for.

Unfortunately, The Bear takes its final season as a chance to throw everything at the wall, and its sound and fury often overpower the simpler joys of the season. The storm is the largest culprit here, a too on-the-nose plot device that externalizes the restaurant's inner turmoil to an exhausting degree. Every episode begins with the rumble of thunder to remind us of the chaos raging within the Bear. Trust us, we know!

Elsewhere, a side plot where Uncle Jimmy scrambles around Chicago to sell the restaurant is an unwelcome departure from the kitchen, and the Fak brothers continue their reign of unfunny terror. (We'll never have to see them again after this season, but that's still not reward enough for having to suffer through their antics for five seasons straight.)

Most frustrating of all is the melodrama between staffers. When they're not yelling at one another, they sound like therapists spelling out The Bear's themes in the simplest of terms, and the season's condensed timeline means that most personal growth comes on far too suddenly.

Carmy's return in The Bear Season 5 undermines the show's most interesting choice.

Speaking of growth, let's talk about Carmy. By the end of Season 4, he made the bold but healthy choice to step away from the Bear for a bit. In Season 5, though, he's right back in the kitchen, albeit ceding control to Sydney like he said he would.

I understand that you can't do a full season of The Bear — especially not the last season — without Carmy. But to have him return the literal day after his game-changing decision totally undermines Season 4's ending, which is the most interesting move the show had made in two seasons. Here was a chance to see Carmy without the kitchen, and the Bear's kitchen without Carmy. How would that environment look? How would each character adapt to his choice? The Bear doesn't give anyone the chance to find out, reverting to an uneasy equilibrium far too quickly. (The show stresses he'll be leaving the restaurant after this service, but that's an empty promise in a final season.)

The Bear's semi-backtrack on Carmy's decision loops back around to Season 5's single-day structure. Carmy actually leaving is something that would take a greater time span to explore in depth, whereas the "last service" angle is a flashier conceit guaranteed to pull at the heartstrings as the show says goodbye. The two ideas fundamentally chafe against one another. In the end, the latter wins out, turning The Bear's final course into a lackluster serving of confusing choices and wasted potential.

The Bear Season 5 premieres in its entirety June 25 at 9 p.m. ET on Hulu. The first two episodes air at 9 p.m. ET on FX, with a new episode airing every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

The World Cup is causing a spike in Tinder activity

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is underway, and international tourists are obsessed with mundane American things. It seems like they're also interested in another American export: Tinder.

Compared to the same time last year, the dating app has seen increases in Swipes, Likes, and matches across World Cup host cities. The U.S. is seeing over a 15 percent increase in users, around a 25 percent increase in Swipe activity, and nearly a 60 percent increase in matches compared to June 2025.

Mexico and Canada are feeling the love, too, with increases across the board.

The app saw an average 47 percent increase among international users in game host cities, according to internal data from June 11 to 16. This is across host cities and match days, and is after accounting for ordinary summer travel. Some of the strongest activity jumps include +80 percent in Monterrey around the Sweden vs. Tunisia game, +74 percent in Guadalajara around Korea Republic vs. Czechia, and +47 percent in Boston around Iraq vs. Norway.

Domestic users are apparently feeling like driving a goal, too, with a 22 percent increase.

Tinder is also seeing increases in Passport Mode use, which lets users swipe in other locations than where they're currently based. The New York/New Jersey area, Los Angeles, and Miami are the top host metros for Passport inflow, according to Tinder. The top origin countries — excluding host countries — include Great Britain, Brazil, Thailand, and Nigeria.

It's not surprising that sports invigorates the desire for a date (or a hookup). During the Olympics, Tinder users often try to virtually enter the Olympic Village with Passport Mode.

That's not terribly surprising, nor is the fact that Rockstar is also charging $99.99 for an Ultimate Edition of the game.

What exactly does that price get you? According to Rockstar, it's an "exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action around every corner." The official website for the game has some more specific information on that front. The Ultimate Edition of GTA VI includes:

Several exclusive vehicles
Exclusive weapons
A bevy of shops for fashion, vehicle mods, and tattoos that only exist in the Ultimate Edition

Locking outfits and even vehicles behind an Ultimate Edition purchase is pretty normal stuff for a game like this, but putting several shops in the game that can only be accessed by players who bought the more expensive version is...innovative, though maybe not in the way people want GTA VI to be.

It should also be noted that Rockstar emphasized in its news drop on Wednesday that GTA VI is, for now, a single-player experience. Barring the unexpected, there will not be an online portion of the game available at launch. That was also true of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both of those games got multiplayer modes later, with V's being a cornerstone of Rockstar's financial success for the last decade.

Why we like it

My absolute favorite Prime Day Kindle deal is on the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition. It's the e-reader that I use everyday, and it just hit a new all-time low price of $144.99. That makes it cheaper than the Paperwhite at full-price, but it also makes it the same price as the currently on sale Paperwhite without ads.

However, the Signature Edition is far more bang for your buck as it comes with twice the storage, an auto-adjusting front light, and wireless charging. It's an exceptional deal and the device's new lowest-price ever.

Having tracked prices on Kindles for years, I have a pretty good sense of how much Amazon's e-readers cost during a sale. So how are Kindle deals this Prime Day?

The Kindle Paperwhite's lowest price ever is $124.99, which the device dropped to during Black Friday, Prime Big Deals Days, and of course, last year's Prime Day. This year it's back down to $124.99. The Signature Edition on the other hand reached a new low of $144.99, just $20 more for a boatload of extra features.

The deal I'm most disappointed in is on the basic Kindle, which previously dropped to $79.99. This Prime Day, it's $5 more for $84.99. New deals this Prime Day include the latest Kindle Scribe and Scribe Colorsoft, both getting their first price drops since being released.

Prime Day 2026 has started out with a bang, offering the deep discounts we've come to expect over the years.

But it won't last forever! And people seem to be aware of this fact, as we've seen a spike in people asking exactly when Amazon Prime Day will end this year. No one wants to deal with FOMO when it comes to saving hundreds of dollars on the best Prime Day deals.

So, mark your calendar: Prime Day 2026 ends on Friday, June 26.

How long is Prime Day 2026? When exactly does it end?

Amazon Prime Day 2026 started at 3:01 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 23. The Amazon sale will come to an end at exactly 2:59 p.m. ET on Friday, June 26, 2026 (or 11:59 p.m. PT). At that point, you can expect most deals on major brands like Apple, Lego, and Amazon's own devices will have ended. As of this writing, we're on day two of the four-day mega sale.

Some price drops do tend to linger once the sale is technically over, so it's worth checking to see if the products you've had your eye on are still available on sale. It's a bit of a gamble at that point, though, so we recommend grabbing deals sooner rather than later.

Like Black Friday, Prime Day only comes around once a year — though there are other sales to be had year-round from Amazon. So it's definitely a bummer to think you may have missed one of the most lucrative events of the year when it comes to saving money.

Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, is one of the oldest cities in the world.
From the 1950s to the 1970s, it was known as the "Paris of the Middle East."
A 15-year civil war beginning in 1975 ended the city's "Golden Age."

Beirut has been inhabited for over 5,000 years, making it one of the oldest cities on the planet. And, much like any other ancient city, it has been shaped by years of trade, complex domestic and foreign conflicts, and colonialism.

But one of the city's highest points came following World War II, after Lebanon gained independence from France in 1943. Celebrating newfound freedom, combined with French metropolitan influences, a temperate climate, and access to the Mediterranean Sea, Beirut became a popular tourist destination and a prosperous city, earning it the nickname "Paris of the Middle East."

Stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, Brigitte Bardot, and Peter O'Toole on breaks from filming "Lawrence of Arabia" were spotted there, and luxury hotels and clubs dotted its beaches.

However, not everyone was living like an A-list movie star during this period. Economic disparity persisted, and conflicts were brewing that would lead to one of the bloodiest periods in the city's long history.

When the Lebanese Civil War broke out in 1975, this "Golden Age" came to an end. Almost 1 million people fled the country, and over 150,000 people were killed, per the Middle East Research and Information Project.

The Civil War ended 15 years later, in 1990, though unrest and violence continue in Lebanon to this day. For decades, the country has been drawn into repeated conflicts with Israel, with which it shares a border, and new fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Shiite Islamist group based in Lebanon, started in 2023. This conflict has complicated efforts to end the wider war involving the US, Iran, and Israel.

For the last eight years, our Subaru Outback has stepped up to the challenge of taking my family of five, plus two dogs, everywhere we go.

We call it the "kid car" because it can handle anything, including flying snacks in the back seat. But as my kids grow, we need a bigger car — mostly so I can stop hearing them complain about their legs touching.

On a recent trip to Florida, we tested a Mazda CX-90, designed with family chaos in mind. And while in previous years I had said that a third row wasn't necessary for our family, now that my kids are 8, 6, and 6, I might be having a change of heart.

Having a third row made multigenerational travel easier

I'm an only child, which means my parents — who are both in their 80s — often travel with us. That means we need seven people to be comfortably seated to head out to dinner, for example.

In previous cars we tested, like the Audi Q7, my parents couldn't sit in the third row because they had to either climb over a seat or go through the trunk. Even our kids refused to sit in the back of the Audi because it felt cramped.

The CX-90, on the other hand, has a true third row, similar to the one in the Volkswagen ID that we also tested with my family. It was easy to get in and out, and the ability to push the second row forward allows even adults to ride in the back.

A hybrid car might be the solution to the cost of gas

I've been timid about getting a fully electric car for my family. While driving around our town makes sense, the idea of having to plan longer road trips around charging stops stresses me out.

That said, with gas prices at astronomical levels right now, my family's budget is tight, so I was curious about driving a hybrid to find a middle ground.

I was actually impressed with the CX-90 in that aspect. When I first turned on the car, it prioritized running on the electric battery. As I watched the percentage drop, I panicked while driving on the highway from Miami to Orlando, thinking the car would stall once the battery was empty. But of course it didn't, it automatically switched to gas for smooth driving.

You can also charge the battery while driving. My husband really enjoyed this feature, since we didn't have a charger at the resort parking lot, and kept our battery 50% charged at all times. I have to admit, I didn't quite get the hang of charging on this quick trip, but I'm sure I would eventually.

I had a hard time getting used to the shifter

Overall, driving the CX-90 was pretty smooth. It is a bit heavier on turns than what I'm used to driving, but after a couple of days, I was accustomed to it.

The one thing I really struggled with was the shifter. I'm used to having gears in a straight line, but in this car, you have to move the gear stick sideways to the left to park. The first gear you are in when you get out of the parking is reverse. Again, after a few days, I was used to it, but I was always paranoid that I'd be in reverse without realizing it. I think a better user experience would be just keeping all the gears in a straight line.

That said, driving a 2026 model really showed me what we are missing while still having a 2018 car.

The CX-90 had the standard seat warmer, but I was surprised to find it also had a seat cooler, which, in the heat of Florida, was key. I also really liked that you can see which seat belts are buckled, all the way to the third row, right above the rearview mirror. This really cuts down on me repeating myself, asking the kids if they are already buckled.

With a starting price of $39,300 and its hybrid advantage, the Mazda CX-90 is now a top contender for my family's next car.

Step 1. Personalise your lock screen with Now Brief

Now Brief is the Galaxy S26’s personalised daily briefing. It pulls together calendar entries, weather data, and updates from your selected interests (e.g., health and wellness, travel, news, music and podcasts, SmartThings, and Wallet), so you can get all that information at a quick glance. For those days when your brain is at about 40 percent capacity before your first coffee, the day's essentials are right at your fingertips instead of buried across half a dozen apps.

To set it up:

First, switch on Personal Data Intelligence in Settings (this is what lets Galaxy AI process your habits and preferences on-device to personalise the briefing)
Then, open Settings, tap Galaxy AI, and select Now Brief
Tap Content to Include and toggle on any of the categories you want to see

You can then access Now Brief from the Edge panel, from the Now Bar on your lock screen (more on that in the next step), or by adding the Now Brief widget to your home screen.

Now Brief also refreshes through the day with morning, afternoon, and evening versions, so what you see in the morning can be geared toward revving up for the day ahead, and your evening digest can be designed for wind-down mode. Open the Phone app

George Lucas returns to the big screen in Minions and Monsters role

George Lucas is popping out of his semi-retirement for a role in a blockbuster franchise. No, he's not returning to his roots with Star Wars. Instead, he's diving into Illumination's Despicable Me and Minions universe.

On June 19, the AP reported that Lucas has a voice role in the upcoming Minions and Monsters, about the Minions trying to hunt down the perfect monster for their own kaiju movie. Given that the film takes place partly in 1920s Hollywood, it makes sense that Illumination would seek out a cameo from a legendary director. But how did they land on Lucas, who stepped back from blockbuster filmmaking after selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012?

In an interview with Collider, Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri revealed that Lucas got involved in Minions and Monsters due to his own minions fandom.

"I had this privilege of meeting George about two years ago, and what led to my meeting him is how much he loves Illumination movies, and specifically Despicable Me, and even more specifically, the Minions," Meledandri told Collider.

From there, Meledandri wondered if he could bring Lucas aboard for the latest Minions-centric film.

"An idea for a character came up out of the story, and so I said to [director] Pierre [Coffin], who co-wrote the movie with Brian Lynch, and Bill Ryan, who produces with me on the film, and I just said, 'Well, what if we could get George?'" Meledandri recalled. "And they're like, 'Are you kidding me?' I had no idea, but I got such a fast yes."

Lucas recorded his lines with Coffin, who also serves as the primary voice of the Minions, in Paris. But according to Meledandri, Lucas's role in the world of the Minions may not be done.

"I saw him recently, and he's already talking to me about the role he wants to do next in the next Minions movie," Meledandri said.

Minions & Monsters opens in theaters July 1.
