Hello Houston!! Htown Sneaker Summit Summer Recap

2011-08-03T18:09:00.002-04:00

Before I start the recap, I would like to say thanks for all the people in Houston that treated my friends and I like family out there. Kadoma (Htown Sneaker Summit), Adam (SportsRappLive), Bun B, Dj OakCliff,Dj Tito, Merrick (Two In The Shirt), Lauren Luna (Artist Luna)

Now let the recap begin

FRIDAY"Houston We're Back!!"
Straight from Hobby Airport Dee Wells, Kwab & Young Lil took me to Premium Goods for the sneak peek of the Sports Rapp Live collaboration with Diamond Supply co. There we hung out with Dj Oakcliff, Premium Pete, Adam, Bun B & others before heading out to Toku Sushi for dinner. The food was good, Bun ordered different plates for everyone to try. One dish was a spicy kobe beef that was great. I also had their short ribs of beef & teriyaki chicken skewers. First day in Houston was already a good day and the evening only got better with Dj Oakcliff spinning at Carrington night club.

SATURDAY"There's No Sleep For Those Who Have Fun"
BBQS, BEACHES & BITCHES!!! Saturday was the Crooks & Castle pool party at the Hotel Derek. It's also the day the rest of crew flights arrived as we became 14 strong going through Houston. The Pool party was on point. Everyone came out rocking shorts, tees & crazy kicks. There were musical performances, Tex- Hawaiian food, 2 bars and a lot of sexy women. Crooks & Castle sold their official Pool Party tees. Two In The Shirt came through showcasing their shirts along with beautiful model Jessica Aka Miss Rabbit. She has a look guys & girls can appreciate plus she's cool & down to earth. Custom sneaker artist & painter Lauren Luna came through and brought along the Custom Ladies sexy model Thai Exotic
After we left Hotel Derek, we bought more than enough liquor for the hotel since everyone was coming back to my room in the Westin Oaks. After drinks & laughs, everyone headed to Club Carrington for a 2nd night of music by Dj Oakcliff. He keeps the crowd moving & waitress April keeps the Patron flowing. I'm not used to club closing at 2 a.m but it didn't matter. As usual we hit up a restaurant after the club before ending the night around 5 with drinks back at the hotel.

SUNDAY "Respect My Conglomerate"
STADIUM STATUS!!! The reason we all came to Houston. The H-town Sneaker Summit day is here. I'm glad it started in the afternoon, especially after the never ending night we had. This was my second Sneaker Summit and like before it didn't disappoint. We entered early to get pics of the vendors before the crowd enters. As usual, there displays of the hottest kicks of various brands in various sizes. If you were there to buy kicks or just browse, you were satisfied. Adidas set up a free photo booth for all to use. Two In The Shirt had table with shirts for sale and a chance to take pictures with the beautiful Brittany Dailey. SportsRappLive had a live stream going inside the Jack Daniels lounge. Bun B, OSD, Merrick (Two In The Shirt), Premium Pete, Brittany Dailey & Dj Tito were all guests. I especially liked the live stream because this was the moment Dee Wells, & Sean "Paper Chasr" decided to make me an official member of OSD. That was my Kanye to the Roc moment.

The summit came together nicely. Wonderful artwork, dj's playing throughout the event. V.I.P rooms, more than enough places to buy food and people from all over coming together because of a shared interest. What started out as a small event in a bar has grown to become 1 of the most popular & respected sneaker events in the country.

Once the summit ended, everyone headed back to their hotel to get ready for the Dub Frequency and Diamond Supply Co. "Diamond Life" official H-Town Sneaker Summit after party hosted by Bun B. Again, beautiful women, musical performances and an all around good time. Normally this would have been more than good enough to end a perfect weekend. Well not for the 20 of us to decided to head to the Dreams Houston. Sorry, no pics from that part of the night. Just believe me when I say we enjoyed ourselves & Maliah Michel is the TRUTH!!!

Thanks to my away team that also made the trip a great 1!

S.I.M "Sneakers In Media" - Jeremy Scott - JS Wings "Invisible"

2011-07-28T12:30:00.000-04:00

I was recently looking up videos of the daytime talk show "The View" on You Tube for reference for a project I'm working on. One of the videos that came up during the search had Donald Trump as a guest discussing Pesident Obama. Whoopi Goldberg is talking & the camera pans out I noticed she's wearing the Jeremy Scott "JS Wings" Adidas. I did a quick Google search to see if other sites had video or pics of this because I simply hate to blog old news. It seems that other sites talked about her wearing them but they all linked it with Chris Brown wearing them also while having a fit on Good Morning America. Below is the video of the actual episode along with pics.

K-SWISS Endorsing NINJAS??

2011-07-24T02:10:00.000-04:00

Ok so the title might be slightly misleading. K-Swiss isn't endorsing our favorite type of ninjas. You know the silently deadly kind that disappears in smoke, throw shurikens & can kill a room full of armed men with just a short sword and dagger? Well it's not them or the Teenage Mutant kind. K-Swiss will be endorsing the winner of the G4 channels popular show, "American Ninja Warrior".

The winner will win a $500,000 K-Swiss endorsement contract along with becoming the face of a nationwide advertising campaign for K-Swiss. NBC will televise the season finale of “American Ninja Warrior,” G4’s biggest and most successful original program to date, Monday, August 22, with a two-hour primetime special, beginning at 9 pm ET. The special will feature the American competitors’ final stage of their journey as they head to Japan to take on the world’s toughest obstacle course.

S.I.M "Sneakers In Media - Nike Flightposites

2011-07-24T01:37:00.000-04:00

I decided to post video's of various sneakers worn in television & films.
For my 1st S.I.M (Sneakers In Media) post I decided to go with a show that's a little more obscure. Many of us have spotted sneakers in various shows such as "A Different World", "Seinfeld", "Martin" & "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air". How many of us can say we spotted a popular sneaker in Star Trek?

No, not the Captain James T Kirk Star Trek. This is the Borg fighting, 7 of 9 is the best thing on t.v having, Star Trek Voyager. Not only does this episode have a popular sneaker, it has the sneaker being worn by The Peoples Champ - The Rock & the lovely 7 of 9!!! Below you can watch the two fight while wearing Nike Flightposites in the Feb, 9th, 2000 Voyager episode titled "Tsunkatse"

Actress Jeri Ryan (7 of 9) Flightposites were auctioned on Ebay by California based screen used entertainment memorabilia dealer ItsAWrap, with the rest of her costume for $1,325 on June 29th of 2007. The modified Nike Flightposites have a blue light attached to each side that is each powered by a single 9Volt battery. The battery, electronics and switch are housed in the back of each shoe in a black Velcro pouch. One can only wonder what happened to the Rock's pair.

Video Game Cartridge Engineer Jerry Lawson passed away

2011-04-13T23:01:00.001-04:00

Gerald Lawson a.k.a "Jerry" passed away April 9th, 2011. Jerry was the creator of the world's first cartridge-based video game system, the Fairchild Channel F. Gerald was born & raised in Queens, NY & attended Queens college. In the early 1970's, he was the Chief Hardware Engineer and director of engineering and marketing for Fairchild's video game division. Jerry was in charge of all the new cartridges, how they were made, and what the games were. Lawson created one of the original arcade games, Demolition Derby, in his garage 1972. This game was later placed in a pizzeria in California. He founded Videosoft, a video game development company which made software for the Atari 2600 in the early 1980s, as the 2600 had displaced the Channel F as the top system in the market.

Lawson was the sole black member of the Homebrew Computer Club, a group of early computer hobbyists which would produce a number of industry legends, including Apple founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Lawson later worked with the Stanford mentor program and was preparing to write a book on his career. At the time of his death, he resided in Santa Clara, CA.

H Town Sneaker Summit/ Ny to Houston Recap

2011-01-24T23:09:00.001-05:00

My 1st time in Houston is a great one. I came out here with the OSD crew, Dee Wells, Paperchasr, Chadio, and Sneakertube's Premium Pete to support Kadoma at the H Town Sneaker Summit. While down there I met some very cool people like Major & Kim, producers of the upcoming feature film "Elevens" coming out 11/11/11 (Elevens The Movie), Kadoma (the organizer of the H Town Summit), Dsicle, the lovely ladies at the Price of Popularity booth (Senedra Newsome & Reel FaNatikz Arielle Bodden rocking the Yankee fitted), Adam from Sportsrapplive & talked about the Tunnel with Bun B.

I had all the fast food that's not available in Ny like Sonics and Jack In The Box. I went to the Warehouse to party & a place called Dreams that was on point. I have been to Ny events but its good to get out and support others. Kadoma put together a really good event. Huge location (Toyota Center), very organized, good music (Bun B performed) & vendors with a variety of sneakers, clothes, art etc. I look forward to returning to Houston soon. New Mario Bros. Movie Trailer | The Game Station Exclusive!

2011-01-11T14:43:00.003-05:00

An epic gangland tale of betrayal and violence describes the trailer for "The Brothers Mario". A mock trailer created in the world of Grand Theft Auto IV using Rockstars in game video editor for the PC version. All the locations, cars, weapons, explosions & base characters are from the actual game just recorded, edited with voices & music to create a really good video.VIDEO BELOW

This type of film making is called Machinima.
Machinima (muh-sheen-eh-mah) is filmmaking within a real-time, 3D virtual environment, often using 3D video-game technologies.

In an expanded definition, it is the convergence of filmmaking, animation and game development. Machinima is real-world filmmaking techniques applied within an interactive virtual space where characters and events can be either controlled by humans, scripts or artificial intelligence. By combining the techniques of filmmaking, animation production and the technology of real-time 3D game engines, Machinima makes for a very cost- and time-efficient way to produce films, with a large amount of creative control.

Show iDeez Nike Cork Bespoke Air Force 1

2010-09-29T12:53:00.024-04:00

It's been awhile since I've updated this blog with sneakers but some good friends of mine let me know that it's long overdue. What better way to update then with a Nike Natural Cork Bespoke Air Force 1 that was a birthday gift?
I have designed several Nike iD's before but never designed a Bespoke.
I always wait to see how the materials & colors look on an actual sneaker before I think of a design.

Thankfully people I know like, Brandon "B-Smoke",Dj Clark Kent, Mayor, Premium Pete, OgNikeHead85 & others have used the different materials & posted images (themselves or through websites) that gave people a real view of the options. After seeing so many good designs I was ready to design a Bespoke Air Force 1 myself. The timing that Nike added the natural cork material was perfect. It was a material never used before( I designed mine at Mercer a month before Harajuku pictures were posted) and they had a sample of a cork air force 1. My girlfriend wanted me to design the sneaker in early July so I could receive it by my birthday in August but we encountered a setback that prevented me from doing it in time. Well worth the wait, I finally designed my sneakers on my actual birthday (August 15th) and I'm happy I did. The experience of designing a Bespoke is different than designing an iD because there's so much more you can do. It's something I definitely plan on doing again. Likely as a Christmas gift to myself... Stay Tuned

Materials Used
Natural Cork Base, Suede Liner, & Boston leather Tongue & Heel Tab

Craiglist Ad to regain stolen sneakers

2010-02-24T18:52:00.007-05:00

A few minutes ago I received an email from my brother titled "This is unbelievable". I open the email and inside is a Cragslist post. The post is hilarious to me because the person is trying to hire "Muscle" to retrieve his stolen sneakers and the theif is holding the sneakers for ransom. I checked the post but it has been flagged & removed. Hopefully this makes it to the Best Of Craigslist later on. Thanks you Andre and Marlana for bringing this to my attention

There is an idiot guy who stole 4 pairs of sneakers from me. I need a recovery service. The dude has over 1,000 pairs of sneakers at his house, worth probably 200k or more. I just want the 4 pairs that belong to me. I can prove they are mine, and i can show you the text message, where he said, he's holding my sneakers ransom, and is extorting me for $700. Rather keep this out of court if possible.

Will pay $200 to get them back, sneakers are worth $600. Hit me up, and let's do it. He lives in Williamsburg. Not sure how you do this, people help me out here!
