It was another beautiful Fall day in the Finger Lakes. The foliage was radiant, the water deep blue and the sun warm enough to leave the jacket at home.

Sometimes in your life there comes an experience that you will hold in your mind forever.

This was one of them - so I took a picture. Mike Hall at the Wings of Eagles was looking for an aerial photographer and may years ago I had done something similar. But you cannot put into words the thrill of being 2000 feet above the Finger Lakes in formation with another open cockpit plane. This truly was flying with the Eagles - the Wings of Eagles that is.

The Boeing N2S(PT-17) STEARMAN. The Boeing Aircraft Company built the Stearman as a primary trainer for the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Navy. The PT-13, powered by the 225hp Lycoming was the first Stearman used for extensive military training and was supplied to civilian contract flying schools beginning in 1939. As the need for pilots increased, the Army ordered a version of the Stearman powered by the 220hp Contintental engine. This version was designated the PT-17 and became the most numerous version of the aircraft. A total of 3,769 PT-17s were built.

On the way to work, there it lay on the sidewalk, dotted with rain, the color fading in what passes for sunshine these days.

Even as it decays the faded and muted colors still hold their beauty. The raindrops forming tiny natural lenses that distort the leaf structure and for a brief moment it is art.

Tomorrow the wind will come sweeping it off the sidewalk and into the gutter and if the rain doesn't wash it away down the drain, it will gradually fall apart, becoming once again nutrient for the next year.

This one is a '57 600, a stretched version of the Isetta. This time with 4 wheels and an almost 600cc engine, capable of over 60mph and excellent fuel economy.

Certainly before it's time.

This 1956 502 Cabriolet was on display at the BMW Club's dinner which was held at the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center.

Dozens of cars lined the apron and over 500 people attended the diner held in one of the Museum hangars.

It is also about the only time they ever use their tails - great for balancing.

Fall is coming and the leaves are already starting to fal. The clock in Centerway Square stands out in the sun while the tree lined walk from the bridge gathers the fallen leaves, soon the snow will fall and this years cycle of growth will be over.

Fishing with Danes

Most people aren't aware that given a river and fish, Great Danes will fish like Grizzly Bears.

This is Gilda fishing in tthe Chemung River in Corning NY. Does anyone know if a dog needs a fishing licence>

So the task at hand is to photograph a black dog in the dark - still get focus and try to get said dog to stand still while you compose the shot.

The event was a huge success with over 35 dogs showing for paw prints and photographs. Lots of doggie chatter and tons of waggy kissers. There was even doggie ice cream.

Keuka Lake on a warm summer afternoon. Rows of grapevines line the higher parts of the lake hillside, while the water's edge is home many weekend and vacation homes.

In the distance you can see where the bluff parts the lake to create it's unique (in the Finger Lakes) Y shape.

Part way through last night�??s �??Margaritas, Music and Sunsets�?? at the Rockwell Museum a freak gust of wind collapsed one of the awnings, fortunately no one was hurt and the band moved inside to continue playing.

Shot at the Watkins Glen Historic Grand Prix - July 6th 2008

WGI (Watkins Glen International) is just one of the most amazing places to visit and shoot at. Even the drive to the track is fantastic, you travel down scenic country roads to a motorsports center that feels as though it is in the middle of nowhere, while in reality it is close to major roads and even an airport is less than 30 minutes away.
