Shift + F10 right-clicks.

Solution for "Bom Sabado" virus in orkut

Google’s social networking website Orkut has been attacked by virus called “Bom Sabado” on Saturday morning, which is a big treat for orkut . “Bom sabado” is a Portuguese world it means “Good Saturday” in English.
Bom Sabado is an orkut virus affecting profiles of many. Those who are affected by this virus are advised to change password and security question. Log out immediately and also clear the cookies and history.Users are also advised not to open Orkut account until the problem solved. Orkut had just last month announced new updates to the website. It’s a second time Orkut got affected by this kind of viruses. The same virus has hit Orkut last Feb also.

A few hours back, the Bom Sabado virus seems to have started and now it is all over orkut scraps that spreading from friend to friends. It is an auto generated message which is filing your scrapebooks. The scraps come from the friend list and it comes just like any other normal orkut scraps. Users are also advised not to open such scraps. The bug is hitting your cookies and automatically sending messages to your friend list.
If anyone reads this scrap even in their profile, their cookies are also stoled and so they are also posting scrap automatically to their friend list same scrap as bomb something like.
Orkut officials have not clear yet that the Bom Sabado is a virus or not. In week, this is a second XSS attack on a social networking website. The popular microblogging website Twitter was also attacked by a computer worm created by Norwegian. Twitter was received an XSS exploit, the attack, which emerged and was shut down within hours Tuesday morning and involved a XSS flaw that allowed users to run JavaScript programs on other computers.

I have already posted a solution at many blogging sites. For everyone whose orkut account has been affected with the %u2018bom sabado%u2019 worm %u2026. The worm injects a hidden iframe containing a malicious javascript http://tptools.org/worm.js [do not click this], which steals the user cookie which contains the password in an encoded form. So the attacker do not get to know your plaintext password but can login using your credentials by impersonating using the cookie to fool the identification system. So a trivial solution is to diable javascript, another solution is to disable iframes or u can take an advanced measure by blocking the domain http://tptools.org/ by editing your hosts file and redirecting it to a safe address, say 127.0.0.1 go to C:windowssystem32driversetc There is a file named %u2018hosts%u2019. By default it is read-only. Go to it properties and uncheck the tickmark beside read-only edit it with you favourite editor. add this line at the end of it 127.0.0.1 tptools.org save it. and then restart your network interface. ( in simple words, just reconnect your interner connection ) and bingo!! the worm%u2019ll be useless. Hope this helps..

10 Tips to speed up Opera 9

Opera is already a very fast browser, but if you would have the choice between fast and faster than fast, what would you choose ? I took the liberty to compile a list of 10 great tips that speed up Opera in several unique ways. Many of the settings can be changed by simply going to Tools > Preferences in Opera but some can only be used by accessing not so obvious ways like ini files.

Please note that everything that I’m describing here worked fine on my computer. It speed up Opera and increased my browsing experience with it tremendously. While most tips will work for any users no matter their connection to the Internet some tips might only increase performance for broadband users.

Disable Name Completion and local network lookup

Whenever you enter a single word into the address field Opera will look in your bookmarks for that name and try to find a local network with the name as well. Server Name Completion tries to append prefixes and suffixes to the name automatically. While this feature might be great for some users it uses time and cpu and should be turned of for faster browsing.

Click on Tools > Preferences, select the Advanced Tab and choose Network from the left menu. Click on Server Name Completion and disable Look for local network machine and try name completion, using.
Increase the time cached images are used before checking for new versions

Opera downloads images to its cache to be able to load them faster (from your hard drive) the next time you visit the website. By default Opera checks every 5 hours if a new version of that image has appeared on the website. If you increase this time you increase your overall performance.

Go to Tools > Preferences and click on the Advanced Tab. Choose History from the left menu and select Every 24 hours or even every week for image checks. You can always refresh the cache manually by typing F5 while visiting the website.
Remove unneeded and duplicate plugins

Type opera:plugins in the address bar, this should display a list of plugins that are currently installed. Take a closer look and see if you find plugins that you never need. For instance if you never use Realplayer streams in Opera you should deactivate it.

To deactivate them open the file plugin-ignore.ini located in your Opera main directory and add the filename of the plugin that you want to disable to it.

Another problem are duplicate plugins that are caused by loading the plugins from Firefox as well. This happens of course only if Firefox is installed on the same system. You can disable this easily by typing opera:config in the address bar. Navigate to User Prefs > Plugin Path and delete the Firefox reference there.
Rebuild your profile if you have upgraded Opera (a lot)

This is only for users who upgrade Opera a lot. I for instance was using Opera since version 6 and always upgraded from the old version to a new one. This could mess up the ini files, especially the opera6.ini file which is still used in all versions of Opera. This could lead to all sorts of problems (slow page loading, high cpu usage)caused by obsolete or incorrect entries in that ini file.

The easiest approach would be to backup the file opera6.ini in your profiles folder of your Opera installation and delete it afterwards. Please note that Opera has to be closed before you do this. Restart Opera afterwards and it should automatically create a new opera6.ini file without all those old entries.

You will loose the personal information if you entered them in Opera and also all tweaks that you might have applied are gone too. It is however not a big problem to enter them again using the Preferences for the personal information and about:config for the latter.
Disable Turbo mode

While this might sound a little bit strange at first to disable turbo mode and present it as a tip to speed up Opera it becomes clear soon. Turbo mode means that Opera pre-draws any image which means that you see part of it although it is not fully loaded. This uses CPU and memory and could increase overall performance especially on slower computers. It should not be noticeable on fast computers though.

Type about:config and enter Turbo into the search field. Disable Turbo Mode and click on save.
Increase the number of total connections

If you happen to load many tabs at once and like to read websites more or less simultaneously you might want to increase the maximum number of connections. This should have a drastic impact on loading times if you use a broadband connection. It should not make a big difference for users with slow connections, such as 256K connections or less.

Type about:config and enter connections into the search field. Change the value of Max Connections Total from 20 to another value, I suggest 32 or 64 connections. The Max Connections per Server setting should remain as it is. You might even want to test a lower setting, for instance 4 connections there.
Reduce the amount of visited pages in history

Opera keeps track of the last 500 visited websites. The benefit is that Opera displays all urls that fit the string that you enter in the address bar. You can then scroll down and load the website without entering the url fully. This can however impact the time Opera needs to startup.

A temporary fix would be to clear the history manually, a better solution to reduce the amount of websites that Opera stores.

Click on Tools > Preferences and then on the advanced tab. Select History from the left menu and either click on Clear next to Addresses if you want to test if this solution really speeds up loading times or reduce the number of stored addresses in the history right away. I never use that feature and set it to 0. You might reduce it to 100 for instance.
Change Expiry Settings

Some Webmasters want you to load their website anew every time you visit it to display new ad banners for instance. This has the effect that Opera will not use the files stored in cache to load the website but request the complete website again from the server increasing load times.

We are however able to ignore the Expires meta tag from websites by changing two settings in the Opera configuration.

Write opera:config in the address bar, hit enter. Search for expiry and change the settings for Check Expiry History and Check Expiry Load to 1.
Save Images Faster

This is probably more a usablity tip than a performance tip but I think it is still nice enough to be included. Instead of saving images by right-clicking on them and selecting Save Image you can simply press CTRL and left-click the image. The download window appears and you can save it then immediately.
Delay mail and rss connections at startup

Opera prioritizes mail and rss accounts during startup. This could mean that you could witness lots of disk activity during startup which could slow down Opera significantly. It is possible to delay each account individually to prevent that Opera slows down during startup.

Locate your accounts.ini file which should be in the Opera mail folder. Every account should have an entry Initial Poll Delay=X where X should be set to at least 60 (seconds) and the rss feed to something like 120 or more.

Solar power is no longer just about installing photovoltaic panels on existing rooftops to convert a bit of electricity with sunlight. Nowadays, people are finding unique ways to integrate solar energy into architectural, vehicular and even fashion designs from the beginning. Moreover, some innovators have even figured out ways to make structures entirely energy-independent by combining various alternative energy sources.

When solar was first introduced it was an auxiliary power source – now we have cars, boats, planes and even entire buildings that run on solar power. From the world’s first energy-autonomous vehicle to solar balloons, arcs, lily pads and even bras here are some of the most clever contemporary solar designs. These push the existing envelope of solar technology and design ingenuity.

It is hard to say whether the solar bra concept is more geared toward a male of a female audience. The stomach solar panel is perhaps a little less than sexy but supposedly generates enough energy to power a small mobile device such as an MP3 player or a cellular phone. The idea is interesting but the implementation is dubious. After all, who goes outside in only a bra? And what about the unwashability of such a clothing item...?

It has been called everything from Noah’s Eco-Arc to a giant stapler and many things in between. Born of a recall this structure was designed with reuse/recycling as well as alternative energy in mind. Following an unfortunate recall of a huge number of photovalic cells that simply could not be ethically resold Sanyo decided to use them themselves and create an amazing company structure at the same time.

One of the biggest problems, as everyone knows, with solar energy is the difficult off-times when the sun simply won’t shine (at night or during poor weather). To take advantage of even these down times systems like these that use materials (like salt) which store heat for long periods even in the absence of sun seem to be the next stage in solar energy evolution – making the absolute most out of available power and materials. What’s next on the solar horizon? Hard to say but the key elements seem to be: (a) using solar power even without the sun, (b) mixing solar power with other alternative energies and (c) making maximum use of solar power by integrating it with existing structures and vehicles at small and large scales with maximum material, time and cost efficiency.

This first commercial solar power station in Europe is a sight to behold, appearing like an alien object standing out brightly against the flat surrounding landscape. An array of solar panels around the base are used to reflect the sun direct at the giant tower in the middle where, in turn, that heat energy is used to raise the temperature of water piped through the structure. The panels are an awesome site to behold and rotate to track the sun throughout the year.

Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

Short for liquid crystal display, a type of display used in digital watches and many portable computers. LCD displays utilize two sheets of polarizing material with a liquid crystal solution between them. An electric current passed through the liquid causes the crystals to align so that light cannot pass through them. Each crystal, therefore, is like a shutter, either allowing light to pass through or blocking the light.

Monochrome LCD images usually appear as blue or dark gray images on top of a grayish-white background. Color LCD displays use two basic techniques for producing color: Passive matrix is the less expensive of the two technologies. The other technology, called thin film transistor (TFT) or active-matrix, produces color images that are as sharp as traditional CRT displays, but the technology is expensive. Recent passive-matrix displays using new CSTN and DSTN technologies produce sharp colors rivaling active-matrix displays.

Most LCD screens used in notebook computers are backlit, or transmissive, to make them easier to read.

A color television picture tube contains three electron guns, one corresponding to each of the three primary colors of light—red, green, and blue. Electromagnets direct the beams of electrons emerging from these guns to continuously scan the screen. As the electrons strike red, green, and blue phosphor dots on the screen, they make the dots glow. A screen with holes in it, called a shadowmask, ensures that each electron beam only strikes phosphor dots of its corresponding color. The glow of all the dots together forms the television picture.

Central and Eastern Europe might not be the first places you think of when it comes to electric cars. In fact, you’re probably more likely to think of bad cars, such as the infamous Yugo, dubbed the worst car in history.Although it’s not particularly known for its autos, Hungary is taking a stab at the electric vehicle market with a futuristic new solar-electric car. Founded by auto enthusiasts and backed by local investors, the Hungarian company Antro, is working on a prototype for a modular car that is capable of splitting into two separate vehicles. With solar panels on the roof, the three passenger Antro Solo can run up to 20 km per day on solar energy alone..

The environmentally-conscious company started research back in 2002 and, with backing from various local sponsors, has invested 1.5 million euros in market research and development of a working prototype.

The Antro Solo concept is a three-passenger car, with a hybrid drive and solar cells on its roof that the company says could generate enough electricity for up to 20km a day at city speeds.Futuristic looking in itself, the grander plan for the car is much more audacious: Antro intends to allow users to be able to connect two Antro Solos to form a six-passenger Antro Duo. Or perhaps more interesting still, owners of a Duo could split the car into two smaller Solos should Mum have different weekend plans to Dad. Or if they divorce.The current prototype looks interesting, but I can’t believe its chances of ever making it to past the prototype stage are much above slim.

Also worth a mention, just across the border to the south of Hungary, is a Croatian company called Dok-ing. It specialises in making landmine clearance machines, and sports the company motto: “Don’t send a man to do a machine’s job.” But it, too, has launched its own project for a small electric city car called Dok-ing XD — a fully electric three-seater that promises to travel 155 miles on a single two-hour charge.

The project was disclosed in 2009 after four years of development. But like Antro, Dok-ing XD sounds and looks good, but the likelihood of it hitting mass production are low. Local media hype followed announcement of the project last summer, but there has been no news since. The working prototype was expected to be on roads by the end of last year, which led to mass production being optimistically scheduled for middle of 2010.

How to format USB?

First go to command prompt(Start > Run > CMD)
Then C:/documents and settings Command prompt will appear.
Then type format x (x is the driver letter) and press ENTER
After that you have to enter the volume label of the pen drive correctly and press ENTER.
Then a prompt will appear.Select Y (yes) command.
Format will start.
Then after the process is over your drive is fresh and ready to be written !

Cathode ray tube essentially consists of an electron gun for producing a stream of electrons, focusing and accelerating anodes for producing a narrow and sharply focused electron beam, horizontal and vertical deflection plates for controlling the beam path and an evacuated glass envelope with phosphorescent screen giving bright spot when struck by a high velocity electron beam.

Electron Gun Assembly.

The electron gun assembly consists of an indirectly heated cathode, a control grid surrounding the cathode, a focusing anode and an accelerating anode. The sole function of the electron gun assembly is to provide a focused electron beam which is accelerated towards the phosphor screen. The cathode is a nickel cylinder coated with an oxide coating and emits plenty of electrons, when heated. The emitting surface of the cathode should be as small as possible, theoretically a point. Rate of emission of electrons or say the intensity of electron beam depends on the cathode current, which can be controlled by the control grid |n a manner similar to a conventional vacuum tube.
The control grid is a metal cylinder covered at one end but with a small hole in the cover. The grid is kept at negative potential (variable) with respect to cathode and its function is to vary the electron emission and so the brilliancy of the spot on the phosphor screen. The hole in the grid is provided to allow passage for electrons through it and concentrate the beam of electrons along the axis of tube. Electron beam comes out from the control grid through a small hole in it and enters a pre-accelerating anode, which is a hollow cylinder in shape and is at a potential of few hundred volts more positive than the cathode so as to accelerate the electron beam in the electric field. This accelerated beam would be scattered now because of variations in energy and would produce a broad ill-defined spot on the screen. This electron beam is focused on the screen by an electrostatic lens consisting of two more cylindrical anodes called the focusing anode and accelerating anode apart from the pre-accelerating anode. The focusing and accelerating anodes may be open or close at both ends and if covered, holes must be provided in the anode cover for the passage of electrons. The function of these anodes is to concentrate and focus the beam on the screen and also to accelerate the speed of electrons.

Electrostatic Focusing

An electrostatic focusing system is shown in figure. Electrostatic lens consists of three anodes, with the middle anode at a lower potential than the other two electrodes.In figure two anodes and its electrostatic lines and equipotential surfaces are shown. A pd is kept between these two electrodes so that an electric field is generated between them. Spreading of electric field is caused because of repulsion between electric lines. If equipotential lines are drawn, as shown in figure, they would bulge at the centre of the two anodes. As we know that electrons move in a direction opposite to that of electric field lines and equipotential surfaces are perpendicular to the electric field lines so force on the electron is exerted in the direction normal to the equipotential surface.

Deflection of cathode ray

We know that a force is experienced by an electron when it is kept in a uniform electric field. This principle is the basis for the deflection of electron beam owing to deflection plates. Let us consider an electron having initial velocity of u m/s along X-axis at point O in the space between the plates A and B, each of length l metres and separated by a distance of d metres. Let the pd across the plates be of V volts. For simplicity, let us assume that the field is uniform and does not extend beyond the ends of the plates. Axial velocity of electron remains unchanged and is equal to u as there is no axial force and, therefore, no axial acceleration.

Screen For CRT.

As we know that some crystalline materials, such a phosphor, have property of emitting light when exposed to radiation. This is called the fluorescence characteristic of the materials. These fluorescent materials continue to emit light even after radiation exposure is cut off. This is called the phosphorescence characteristic of the materials. The length of time during which phosphorescence occurs is called the persistence of the phosphor.The end wall of the CRT, called the screen, is coated with phosphor. When electron beam strikes the CRT screen, a spot of light is produced on the screen. The phosphor absorbs the kinetic energy of the bombarding electrons and emits, energy at a lower frequency in a visual spectrum. Among the fluorescent materials used are zinc orthosilicate giving a green trace very suitable for visual observations; calcium tungstate giving blue and ultra-violet radiations very suitable for photography and zinc sulphide with other materials giving a white light suitable for TV. Zinc phosphate gives a pronounced after glow and is useful when studying transient phenomena because the trace persists for short while after the transient has disappeared.

1G , 2G, 3G Moble Services

User requirements are growing faster than ever and the limitations of the current mobile communication systems have forced the researchers to come up with more advanced and efficient technologies.The history and evolution of mobile service from the 1G (First generation) to third generation is discussed in this section.

A. 1G (First generation)

The process began with the designs in the 1970s that have become known as 1G. Almost all of the systems from this generation were analog systems where voice was considered to be the main traffic. The first generation wireless standards used plain TDMA and FDMA. These systems could often be listened to by third parties. Some of the standards are NMT, AMPS, Hicap, CDPD, Mobitex, DataTac, TACS and ETACS.

B. 2G (Second generation)

The 2G (second generation) systems designed in the 1980s were still used mainly for voice applications but were based on digital technology, including digital signal processing techniques. These 2G systems provided circuit-switched data communication services at a low speed. All the standards belonging to this generation were commercial centric and they were digital in form. The second generation of wireless mobile communication systems was a huge success story because of its revolutionary technology and the services that it brought to its users. Besides high-quality speech service, global mobility was a strong and convincing reason for users to buy 2G terminals. The second generation standards are GSM, iDEN, D-AMPS, IS-95, PDC, CSD, PHS, GPRS, HSCSD, and WiDEN.

C. 2.5G

2.5G is the intermediate generation between 2G and 3Gcellular wireless technologies. This term is used to describe 2G-systems that have implemented a packet switched domain in addition to the circuit switched domain. 2.5G is not an officially defined term rather it was invented for marketing purpose. 2.5G provides some of the benefits of 3G (e.g. it is packet-switched) and can use some of the existing 2G infrastructure in GSM and CDMA networks.

D. 3G (Third generation)

To meet the growing demands in network capacity, rates required for high speed data transfer and multimedia applications, 3G standards started evolving. The systems in this standard are essentially a linear enhancement of 2G systems. They are based on two parallel backbone-infrastructures, one consisting of circuit switched nodes, and one of packet oriented nodes. The third generation (3G) has been launched in several parts of the world, but the success story of 2G is hard to repeat.

Either way, there are plenty more overrated things in America that just don't live up to the hype. They've either outlived their usefulness, don't do as much as they claim to, and are rated way too highly for what they do. Here's our list of 10 overrated things in America in 2010:
1. iPad.
It's a fun first-generationgadgetto have, but it costs more than it's worth and other manufacturers of slate computers are coming out with their own versions that are cheaper and have more options. And as Apple does with many of its products, the second generation, usually released a year later, has more capabilities -- such as a camera, USB ports and Flash support that are lacking in the current model.

If you want to know why AT&T got rid of its all-you-can-eat data plan and is charging heavy users more, it's because users of the iPhone and iPad aredata hogs. The free lunch is over, just a few months after the iPad was released and its owners could have streamed movies nonstop for hours.
2. Saturday mail delivery
If the U.S. Postal Service can save$5.1 billionper year by eliminating Saturday mail delivery service, so be it. The Internet is causing less mail to be sent via the Postal Service, so the USPS plan to eliminate Saturday delivery starting sometime in early 2011 is a smart move. Rural residents without high-speed Internet access willmissSaturday delivery, but more people may look forward to one less day ofjunk maildelivery.

3. 3-D movies
Other than some scenes from "Avatar," most 3-D movies aren't worth theextra 25%it costs to get into a theater and put on the clunky 3-D glasses to watch the movie. It seems more like a gimmick than a better way to see a movie that looks just as good in 2-D.

If you're thinking of buying a 3-D television or 3-D DVD movie, don't waste your money. The technology is still too new to buy into. There aren't many 3-D movies or TV channels with 3-D capabilities yet to justify spending $1,700 or more on a 3-D TV.Consumer Reportsfound that it would cost $3,300 to buy a TV, extra pairs of glasses and 3-D Blu-ray player. That definitely makes 3-D movies over-rated.
4. Frequent buyer programs
Starbucks, Amazon Prime, Barnes & Noble and many other stores haveprogramsthat reward customers with discounts and deals for using their services frequently. We're all for saving money, but for buyers who aren't careful these can lead to purchases that they wouldn't have made in the first place. Themain purposeof such programs is not to offer discounts, but to get them to come back again and again.

Remember theSeinfeldepisodewhere Elaine writes a fake phone number on a free sub card, and is upset because she only needs to buy one more sandwich to get the free one? That's what frequent buyer programs want from their customers -- devotion to buy again and again, even if they don't really need or want what they're buying.

And while some frequent buyer cards are changing over to smart phones so users don't have to cram various cards into their wallets or purses, hasn't everyone lost at least one of these cards in their lifetime? The worst loyalty programs are ones you have to pay to join. You'd think that tracking your spending habits and getting you back into the store often would be enough, butBarnes & Noble, for example, charges $25 a year to get its loyalty member discounts. I recently went to a Barnes & Noble to buy a book and was asked four times in four different ways if I wanted to join the loyalty program, even for a free two-month membership. I declined.
5. Cable TV
The average cable TV bill is about$75,and the average annual price hike of 5% could push it to $95 in five years. With so many cheaper options for watching TV, cable TV is an overrated service that is getting to fat and mighty for itself. Inexpensive or freesoftwarecan turn a computer or game system into a streaming system for content from Hulu and other websites directly to your TV.

You could spend months without missing cable TV with aNetflixstreaming video connection. Most of its streaming selection is old movies and TV shows, but for about $10 a month, you could catch up on old movies or shows you never got around to watching. Andsatellitecompanies are always offering deals to help push you out of cable TV.
6. Toyota
The ToyotaPriusis one of the most popular cars around, and a status symbol for how green you can be while driving. But the auto maker'srecallof 9 million cars for sudden acceleration problems make us think twice about how overrated the company is. All car makers have their troubles withrecallseventually, and Toyota led the way in hybrid cars. But as more American car companies move toward making energy-efficient cars, Toyota is getting a run for its money and will have to do better.

7. LeBron James
It's hard to argue withcareer averagesof 27.8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game, making James a constant triple-double threat in the NBA. The Cleveland Cavaliers star earned$15.7 millionin his last season with his home team, and starting July 1 he can bargain with other teams as a free agent. The NBA salary cap sets limits on how much teams can pay, so Cleveland can offer him about$126 millionfor six years, which is about $30 million more than the New York Knicks or any other team can offer him.

At 25, James is in the prime of his career. But is he worth $126 million for six years, or whatever figure is thrown at him, excluding endorsements? Whether or not you agree that James hasn't been provided a starting cast of teammates to get his team to an NBA championship, the fact is he hasn't won a championship in Cleveland. It's unlikely he will in New York or Chicago, two top suitors, unless the teams can get at least one high-level player to help him on the court.

The Bleacher Reportmakes the case that while James is one of the best athletes ever to play in the NBA, he's overrated because he takes 20 to 30 shots a game, mostly drives into the lane to get fouled, and his great body gives him an advantage that other top players never had and thus had to use more diverse options of the game to score. James is a fantastic player to watch, but until he starts winning championships like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, he's overrated. One thing James has on his side is it will be three years before he turns 28, the age whenJordanwon his first championship.

8. Silly Bandz
Paying $5 for a pack of 24 molded rubber bands is more than silly, it's an insane amount of money for a fad. You know it's an overrated fad when moms are running from store to store searching for them for their3-year-old, who is piling 35 of them on his lower arm and trading them at preschool, and his mom is asking the store clerk if there's a limit to how many packages she can buy.
Silly Bandzarebannedin some schools because the trading of the colorful bracelets is a distraction. Beanie Babies, Pokemon cards and other kids' fads have come and gone, and Silly Bandz will, too. Having a colored band stretch back into the shape of horse when taken off is fun, but an overrated trend is an overrated trend.
9. "Lost" finale
You can't expect every question to be answered in a TV show's finale, but the May 23, 2010 final episode of "Lost" was about as overrated as a TV show can get. It answered some questions, but acres of words have been written about theunanswered questionsthat remain. Among them: How canHurleyrun through a sweltering jungle for six years and not lose weight?

In what the Hollywood Reportercalled "essentially a decorated clip show," the finale after six years didn't attract as many viewers as you'd think such a buildup would produce. It was seen by 13 million viewers andfinished thirdfor the week behind twoAmerican Idolshows among viewers ages 18 to 49.

10. Energy drinks
From Gatorade toacai berrydrinks, Red Bull and other energy beverages, these drinks are overrated and unnecessary. You're paying more for marketing than for what's inside the bottle.

Water will rehydrate the body just as well as Gatorade and other sports drinks. Unless you're running a triathlon, or need the taste of a sports drink to get you to drink plenty of liquid while exercising, free waterworks fine. And it's calorie-free.

The sale of popular energy drinks, including Red Bull, should be prohibitedto minors because they have led to deaths, critics say. The high-caffeine drinks can createabnormal heart rhythmsand seizures after the high of drinking one. That should be enough to make energy drinks overrated.

British Imperialism brought about a lot of changes – both positive and negative — to India’s political and social reality. .

Let me give you some examples.
   The present Indian system of law is completely based on the British model. There existed a system of law prior to this, which is completely discarded. While there are a lot of advantages to this system of law, there are also great costs incurred in the loss of the original system. The present Indian schooling system also originated with the British. The railways – the largest in the word – were brought by the British. T S Eliot in England first suggested the teaching of English in Universities – this subject was not taught at universities until 1900 – and English was first taught in India as an experiment. The British set up major universities at places like Calcutta, Bombay and Chennai. The traditional practice of sati was abolished, which to me is a fantastic thing. The Brahmo Samaj was formed, and was influenced by Europeans. The English language itself was a very positive thing – in some respects – to have happened to India. There were many wonderful Britons who came here and did some great work.
   Every time a country is ruled by another, there are advantages and disadvantages working at many levels on both sides. The British rule of India is no different. I’ve already cited some positive examples for you, now let me cite what might be perceived as negative – because of the British, the indigenous handicrafts industry was pushed out of the mainstream and till date, remains in the sidelines. The hierarchy of languages is such that English must be known and spoken in order to obtain a so called “respectable” job especially in urban India. There are no computer programs in any of the vernacular languages in Indian educational institutions, indeed the vernacular languages do have less of a currency than English.
   The cultural divide between Britain and India at the time of colonization was such that much of original Indian music, culture, arts and sciences and other disciplines lost out due to imperialism. One of the biggest political problems in India today – the strife between the Hindus and the Muslims – was first observed only after the British came to India. Prior to this, the Hindus and Muslims did not have major conflicts in the 1000 years of coexistence that they shared. Today, riots and endless warring over Kashmir are big political features. The partition is a big scar that both nations of India and Pakistan have had to endure. And I haven’t even talked about Bangladesh here. These are very tangible examples, and there are a other, more intangible ones which I will illustrate for you if you want. Everyone should have to read this .

First American Newspaper

America's first continuously-published newspaper, the Boston News-Letter published its first issue on April 24, 1704. John Campbell, a bookseller and postmaster of Boston, was its first editor, printing the newspaper on what was then referred to as a half-sheet. It originally appeared on a single page, printed on both sides and issued weekly.

In the early years of its publication the News-Letter was filled mostly with news from London journals detailing the intrigues of English politics, and a variety of events concerning the European wars. The rest of the newspaper was filled with items listing ship arrivals, deaths, sermons, political appointments, fires, accidents and the like.An ad from the back page for a Scheme of a Lottery, which was created to sell 6000 tickets at $2 each to raise funds to pave the highway in Charlestown from the Ferry to the Neck. Of the $12,000 to be raised, according to the ad, $10,800 is earmarked for prizes and $1200 for paving the highway..

Toonz "Gaturro" 3D animation film tops in Argentina

"Gaturro", the first Indo-Latin American 3D animation film that was completely produced at Toonz Animation studio here, has topped the box office in Argentina, a statement Friday said.

The film was released both in the normal 3D and stereoscopic formats and premiered in Argentina Sep 9, a Toonz release said.

The Spanish version of the movie received widespread appreciation from all quarters of the industry, it added.

The 90-minute film, a product of Indian creativity and technology combined with Argentinean humour and imagination, has been co-produced with Illusions Studios, Argentina, at a cost of $7 million.

Based on the famous Argentinean cartoon strip, the 3D animated film brings to screen, the life of "Gaturro", the cat whose love for his neighbouring cat Agatha constantly gets him into trouble.

Created by cartoonist Cristian Dzwonik ("Nik"), the comic has been published in more than 30 books, magazines and comic volumes and has become a phenomenal success across Latin America.

"Gaturro" includes not only the love story between the two cats, but also an entire universe of fellow pets and humans that expands the franchise of characters.

"We are thrilled at this phenomenal response. After getting good reviews at this years’ Cannes, we had a gut feeling that the movie would do well," Toonz Animation India Chairman P. Jayakumar said.

"We had tried really hard to make it technologically at par with the best and also with an equally good story line. Plans are on to release the English and Hindi versions in India by January next year," he added.

The worldwide distribution of the movie is done by the Oscar-winning Voltage Pictures.

Penicillin:breakthrough in cancer treatment?

London: Scientists have hailed as yet another "penicillin moment" the successful clinical trial of a new drug that could halt or reverse the growth of cancer in the human body.

The trials of a drug developed by the US scientists have raised hopes that drug manufacturers will be able to tailor drugs to individual cancers that will halt them in their tracks and even reverse the growth of existing tumours, The Daily Telegraph reported.

As part of the latest research, scientists in California developed a drug to block the effects of a specific gene mutation, B-RAF, linked to malignant melanoma - one of the deadliest cancers.

The experts found that tumours shrank by at least 30 per cent in 24 out of 32 patients with B-RAF mutations, and disappeared entirely in two other patients.

Review these typical interview questions and think about how you would answer them. Read the questions listed; you will also find some strategy suggestions with it.

1. Tell me about yourself:

The most often asked question in interviews. You need to have a short statement prepared in your mind. Be careful that it does not sound rehearsed. Limit it to work-related items unless instructed otherwise. Talk about things you have done and jobs you have held that relate to the position you are interviewing for. Start with the item farthest back and work up to the present.

2. Why did you leave your last job?

Stay positive regardless of the circumstances. Never refer to a major problem with management and never speak ill of supervisors, co- workers or the organization. If you do, you will be the one looking bad. Keep smiling and talk about leaving for a positive reason such as an opportunity, a chance to do something special or other forward- looking reasons.

3. What experience do you have in this field?

Speak about specifics that relate to the position you are applying for. If you do not have specific experience, get as close as you can.
4. Do you consider yourself successful?

You should always answer yes and briefly explain why. A good explanation is that you have set goals, and you have met some and are on track to achieve the others.

5. What do co-workers say about you?

Be prepared with a quote or two from co-workers. Either a specific statement or a paraphrase will work. Jill Clark, a co-worker at Smith Company, always said I was the hardest workers she had ever known. It is as powerful as Jill having said it at the interview herself.

6. What do you know about this organization?

This question is one reason to do some research on the organization before the interview. Find out where they have been and where they are going. What are the current issues and who are the major players?

7. What have you done to improve your knowledge in the last year?

Try to include improvement activities that relate to the job. A wide variety of activities can be mentioned as positive self-improvement. Have some good ones handy to mention.

8. Are you applying for other jobs?

Be honest but do not spend a lot of time in this area. Keep the focus on this job and what you can do for this organization. Anything else is a distraction.

9. Why do you want to work for this organization?

This may take some thought and certainly, should be based on the research you have done on the organization. Sincerity is extremely important here and will easily be sensed. Relate it to your long-term career goals.

10. Do you know anyone who works for us?

Be aware of the policy on relatives working for the organization. This can affect your answer even though they asked about friends not relatives. Be careful to mention a friend only if they are well thought of.

11. What kind of salary do you need?
A loaded question. A nasty little game that you will probably lose if you answer first. So, do not answer it. Instead, say something like, That's a tough question. Can you tell me the range for this position? In most cases, the interviewer, taken off guard, will tell you. If not, say that it can depend on the details of the job. Then give a wide range.

12. Are you a team player?
You are, of course, a team player. Be sure to have examples ready. Specifics that show you often perform for the good of the team rather than for yourself are good evidence of your team attitude. Do not brag, just say it in a matter-of-fact tone. This is a key point.

13. How long would you expect to work for us if hired?

Specifics here are not good. Something like this should work: I'd like it to be a long time. Or As long as we both feel I'm doing a good job.

14. Have you ever had to fire anyone? How did you feel about that?

This is serious. Do not make light of it or in any way seem like you like to fire people. At the same time, you will do it when it is the right thing to do. When it comes to the organization versus the individual who has created a harmful situation, you will protect the organization. Remember firing is not the same as layoff or reduction in force.
15. What is your philosophy towards work?

The interviewer is not looking for a long or flowery dissertation here. Do you have strong feelings that the job gets done? Yes. That's the type of answer that works best here. Short and positive, showing a benefit to the organization.

16. If you had enough money to retire right now, would you?

Answer yes if you would. But since you need to work, this is the type of work you prefer. Do not say yes if you do not mean it.

17. Have you ever been asked to leave a position?

If you have not, say no. If you have, be honest, brief and avoid saying negative things about the people or organization involved.
18. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization.

You should be anxious for this question. It gives you a chance to highlight your best points as they relate to the position being discussed. Give a little advance thought to this relationship.

19. Why should we hire you?

Point out how your assets meet what the organization needs. Do not mention any other candidates to make a comparison.
20. Tell me about a suggestion you have made.

Have a good one ready. Be sure and use a suggestion that was accepted and was then considered successful. One related to the type of work applied for is a real plus.

21. What irritates you about co-workers?

This is a trap question. Think real hard but fail to come up with anything that irritates you. A short statement that you seem to get along with folks is great.
22. What is your greatest strength?

Numerous answers are good, just stay positive. A few good examples: Your ability to prioritize, Your problem-solving skills, Your ability to work under pressure, Your ability to focus on projects, Your professional expertise, Your leadership skills, Your positive attitude

Stay away from a specific job. You cannot win. If you say the job you are contending for is it, you strain credibility. If you say another job is it, you plant the suspicion that you will be dissatisfied with this position if hired. The best is to stay genetic and say something like: A job where I love the work, like the people, can contribute and can't wait to get to work.

Give several reasons and include skills, experience and interest.

Do not be trivial. It would take disloyalty to the organization, violence or lawbreaking to get you to object. Minor objections will label you as a whiner.

Biggest trap of all. This is a test to see if you will speak ill of your boss. If you fall for it and tell about a problem with a former boss, you may well below the interview right there. Stay positive and develop a poor memory about any trouble with a supervisor.

30. What has disappointed you about a job?

Don't get trivial or negative. Safe areas are few but can include:
Not enough of a challenge. You were laid off in a reduction Company did not win a contract, which would have given you more responsibility.

You may say that you thrive under certain types of pressure. Give an example that relates to the type of position applied for.

This is a straight loyalty and dedication question. Do not worry about the deep ethical and philosophical implications. Just say yes.

Try to avoid labels. Some of the more common labels, like progressive, salesman or consensus, can have several meanings or descriptions depending on which management expert you listen to. The situational style is safe, because it says you will manage according to the situation, instead of one size fits all.

39. What have you learned from mistakes on the job?

Here you have to come up with something or you strain credibility. Make it small, well intentioned mistake with a positive lesson learned. An example would be working too far ahead of colleagues on a project and thus throwing coordination off.
