Keyword research is an important strategy to optimize a blog. It aims to bring up a blog or post on top level of search engines to get potential traffic.

How do I do a keyword research?

Well this time I would like to share a little bit about how to research keywords that hopefully can help you find the right keywords for your blog.

I will use two tools called Ubersuggest and Google Adwords: Keyword Planner.

You could just used Google AdWords: Keyword Planner for research, but produced less variable keyword. Therefore we need the help of Ubersuggest.

The function of Ubersuggest here is to find a keyword variation of our main keyword targets. The goal is of course to find long tail keywords.

While task of Google Adwords: Keyword Planner itself is certain to analyze number of searches, AdWords advertiser competition (suitable for Google AdSense), etc.

What is the process?

Looking for keyword variations

First thing we need to do is find keyword variations of main keyword. The main keyword itself is usually a short tail keywords related to topic you discussed.

For example, if your blog discusses the technology, main keywords can be like:

· Computer

· Software

· Internet

· Gadgets

· etc.

To find keyword variations of main keyword, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to http://ubersuggest.org

· Put main keyword or short tail keywords. In this case for example "Internet Marketing"

· Select the language. In this example, "English/USA"

· Click Suggest

2. This will bring up a list of related keywords or keyword variations of "Internet Marketing"

3. Click "Select All Keywords"

4. Click on the "Get"

5. Copy all the keywords and save it using a .txt file

Analyzing Total Search Keyword

Next step is to analyze the sheer number of search in search engine from keywords that we get from Ubersuggest.

Easiest thing we can do is use Google AdWords Keyword Planner.

How:

1. Go to the Google Adwords: Keyword Planner

· Click the "Get click and cost performance forecast"

· Upload keywords that you have previously saved

· Click "Get forecast"

2. Click the "Download"

3. Select the .csv file format and click Download

4. Open downloaded CSV file then select which are best keywords based on amount of searches that you want.

Note that the data that is displayed on Google Keywords Planner is not 100% accurate. If it said number of searches per month in 1000, it is not a guarantee of your blog will get 1000 visitors per month if it is in the first position of Google. Could be a lot and could also be less.

Analyze the level of competition

It is no less important of course to analyze level of competition in Google search engine that suit with your SEO skills level you have. For this one we can do it manually.

Data level of competition that exists in Google AdWords Keyword Planner is competition in AdWords advertiser is not competition in Google search engine.

You can take advantage of such a browser extension like SEOQuake or MozBar.

Just enable the Extension and enter keywords in Google search:

Now you can assess level of competition based on PageRank, Alexa Rank, Index, etc. of webs that appear on main page.

Some of the tips that I can give is:

· Do not choose keywords that are dominated by a web-web otoriatas, for example: Wikipedia

· Do not choose keywords that are dominated by a web-site with a page rank in the top 5

· Do not choose keywords that are dominated by the web-page web with authority and domain authority over 50 (use Extension MozBar)

Execute Keyword

If you've found right keywords then next step is to optimize these keywords.

Have you ever seen blogs with tons of readers and they interact with the blog owner? Hundred or thousand pageview per day? And how do you feel if that is your blog? I’m sure you will be proud and happy. Yup, your hard works has good result.

So, what makes blog visitors feel comfortable when they visiting a blog? They would spent their time to visiting our blog to read information we write or just leave positive comment regarding to our article

Actually that is not a difficult job as long as you are able to positioning yourself. It means you may find the answer if you are a blog visitor. Place yourself as a reader of blog. What makes you comfortable? And that’s the answer of all the questions above.

The problem is, positioning as a visitor is not easy, because each person has a different view depending on seeing a blog. But in general there are some similarities in every visitor, although from a different background. The following things I write when I positioned myself as the visitors a blog.

1. Blog Design

First thing we notice when visiting a blog is a physical form of blog or blog design. Make it as attractive as possible so that visitors are impressed when they first came. Do not be too far in interpreting the word "interesting". Adjust to your blog niche. If your blog contains information or news, make a simple but look elegant, not too many colors are striking. If your blog is selling the product, you may able to add multiple images to support your products.

The things to remember don’t add too much widgets in the sidebar especially flash widgets, as this will burden your blog when it is loading. And it is not good. Visitors will feel bored when your page takes a long time to load. If your visitors are patient, they will wait. But if they impatient, they will close your blog and find the information from others blog and never come back to your blog. That’s not good, right?

2. Make the Link as Link

This is a little thing that not has been considered many people, why? Yup, this is because we do not positioning ourselves as a visitor.

Simple example we often see links inserted in text with a color that is not flashy (no contrast) and it seems part of your post. Actually, the ideal link is contrast with the background color or conspicuous than plain text.

It means we do not have to hide the link that we attach to look like content writing. Use the striking colors or with variations bold or italic. If the link is useful for visitors, they will visit these links. You need to consider is the choice of words you use as a link. Make your link as attractive as possible so that visitors feel curious about the link that you created.

3. Use the Language Variation in Your Articles

Its function is simple actually, that is to make visitors do not get bored with the standard language you use. Every person must have their own style, but in general, people will be interested in a style that is light, not too complicated. Use sentences that are active as if writing it invites the viewer to feel what you want to tell so they are emotionally involved in what you write.

For example you make a sentence "Have you ever imagine, when you have blog with high page rank, suddenly it dropped in single day?" With these words visitors will come to imagine as you write, and wonder what happened. What if that incident happened to me?

4. Do not Make Visitors Confused by Category

The main function of category is easier for visitors when they want to find information, but to apply much less precise. Many bloggers are too "arrogant" in categorizing an article. Have you ever seen one article is included in 3 or more categories? This does not help them, but it is confusing visitors.

5. Avoid Making Multi Link

What I mean here is the link that overlaps. Try one link leads directly to the destination. Simple example, let's say I want to sell e-book about internet marketing in this blog, but to achieve the order button, need a lot of links that should we click. This is not only annoying but also will make visitors unwilling to continue purchasing.

6. Dress Up Your Search Box

Search box is a vital tool in helping visitors find what they are looking for. But sometimes the Search Box is just simply become trimmer of blog.

The question is how to create a search box that can stimulate the visitor to do searching? In addition to decorate with CSS code, you can also add value = "typing something" that will stimulate people to use it.

What is Google Mobilegeddon and How to Deal With It?

What is mobilegeddon algorithm?

Since April 21, 2015 Google released an algorithm known as mobilegeddon algorithms. This algorithm is assigned to customize all of the search results on mobile version. This means sites that are not responsive or not serve in mobile version will be adversely affected by this algorithm. In practice this does not directly change blog’s traffic; but there are already some blog affected.

What Google believes is that 80% of internet users of their services today come from mobile users, or in other words dominated by Smartphone users. That was one of the reasons behind the launch of the mobilegeddon algorithm.

Although the effect is not felt scary, but it's worth every webmaster prepare their mobile display more seriously.

How can you know if your blog mobile friendly?

To determine whether your blog template is support mobile version, you could use a tool called Google mobile-friendly test. With this tool you can find your blog is mobile-friendly or not. The use of this tool is very easy, you just type in url address of your blog and this tool will inform your blog. If your blog is mobile-friendly, then result must be like this :

What should be done if your blog does not support mobile-friendly?

1. URL

A few years ago or more precisely in 2012, I had read an article on Google's blog that explains how to optimize site for Smartphone visitors. The article explained that the use or the addition of mobile URL / m. on domain to redirect mobile users is not a good thing and will not make your site Mobile-Friendly.

Solution of this problem is not to redirect mobile users to a page or other sub-domain, so tries to make mobile visitors remain on main site and is not redirected to other pages.

2. Template

You can use responsive template to preserve original design of your template, it would be much better if you disabling some JavaScript in order to prevent blog load too heavily when accessed by mobile users.

3. Advertising Placement

There is term 'above the fold' which essentially urges webmaster to fix their particular layout of template for the position or putting ads on mobile template, where Google has made it clear that it is forbidden to advertise too much over the content.

Actually there is Google algorithm which specifically deals with such matters, namely Top Heavy algorithm that has mission to execute too many websites that advertise on header so as to make content or blog posts as if crushed by ads.

In one niche, there are some keywords that are often used by Google search engine users. Well the website owner needs to do research keywords to find the keyword list.
