'Sok tahu' pada dasarnya adalah "merasa sudah cukup berpengetahuan" padahal sebenarnya kurang tahu. Masalahnya, orang yang sok tahu biasanya tidak menyadarinya. Lantas, bagaimana kita tahu bahwa kita 'sok tahu'? Mari kita mengambil hikmah dari Al-Qur'an.

Ada beberapa ciri 'sok tahu' yang bisa kita dapatkan bila kita menggunakan perspektif surat al-'Alaq.

1. Enggan Membaca

Ketika disuruh malaikat Jibril, "Bacalah!", Rasulullah Saw. menjawab, "Aku tidak bisa membaca." Lalu malaikat Jibril menyampaikan lima ayat pertama yang memotivasi beliau untuk optimis. Adapun orang yang 'sok tahu' pesimis akan kemampuannya. Sebelum berusaha semaksimal mungkin, ia lebih dulu berdalih, "Ngapain baca-baca teori. Mahamin aja sulitnya minta ampun. Yang penting prakteknya 'kan?" Padahal, Allah pencipta kita itu Maha Pemurah. Ia mengajarkan kepada kita apa saja yang tidak kita ketahui.

Disisi lain, ada pula orang Islam yang terlalu optimis dengan pengetahuannya, sehingga enggan memperdalam. Katanya, misalnya, "Ngapain baca-baca Qur'an lagi. Toh udah khatam 7 kali. Mending buat kegiatan lain aja." Padahal, Al-Qur'an adalah sumber dari segala sumber ilmu, sumber 'cahaya' yang tiada habis-habisnya menerangi kehidupan dunia. Katanya, misalnya lagi, "Ngapain belajar ilmu agama lagi, toh sejak SD hingga tamat kuliah udah diajarin terus." Padahal, 'ilmu agama' adalah ilmu kehidupan dunia-akhirat.

2. Enggan Menulis

Orang yang sok tahu terlalu mengandalkan kemampuannya dalam mengingat-ingat dan menghafal pengetahuan atau ilmu yang diperolehnya. Ia enggan mencatat. "Ngerepotin," katanya. Seolah-olah, otaknya adalah almari baja yang isinya takkan hilang. Padahal, sifat lupa merupakan bagian dari ciri manusia. Orang yang sok tahu enggan mencatat setiap membaca, menyimak khutbah, kuliah, ceramah, dan sebagainya. Padahal, Allah telah mengajarkan penggunaan pena kepada manusia.

Di sisi lain, ada pula orang yang kurang mampu menghafal dan mengingat-ingat pengetahuan yang diperolehnya, tapi ia merasa terlalu bodoh untuk mampu menulis. "Susah," katanya. Padahal, merasa terlalu bodoh itu jangan-jangan pertanda kemalasan. Emang sih, kalo nulis buat orang lain, kita perlu ketrampilan tersendiri. Tapi, bila nulis buat diri sendiri, bukankah kita gak bakal kesulitan nulis 'sesuka hati'? Apa susahnya nulis di buku harian, misalnya, "Tentang ciri sok tahu, lihat al-'Alaq!"?

3. Membanggakan Keluasan Pengetahuan

Orang yang sok tahu membanggakan kepintarannya dengan memamerkan betapa ia banyak membaca, banyak menulis, banyak mendengar, banyak berceramah, dan sebagainya tanpa menyadari bahwa pengetahuan yang ia peroleh itu semuanya berasal dari Allah. Ia mengira, prestasi yang berupa luasnya pengetahuannya ia peroleh berkat kerja kerasnya saja. Padahal, terwujudnya pengetahuan itu pun semuanya atas kehendak-Allah.

Mungkin ia suka meminjam atau membeli buku sebanyak-banyaknya, tetapi membacanya hanya sepintas lalu atau malah hanya memajangnya. Ia merasa punya cukup banyak wawasan tentang banyak hal. Ia tidak merasa terdorong untuk menjadi ahli di bidang tertentu. Kalau ia menjadi muballigh 'tukang fatwa', semua pertanyaan ia jawab sendiri langsung walau di luar keahliannya. Ia mungkin bisa menulis atau berbicara sebanyak-banyaknya di banyak bidang, tetapi kurang memperhitungkan kualitasnya.

4. Merendahkan Orang Lain Yang Tidak Sepaham

Bagi orang Islam yang sok tahu, siapa saja yang bertentangan dengan pendapatnya, segera saja ia menuduh mereka telah melakukan bid'ah, sesat, meremehkan agama, dan sebagainya. Bahkan, misalnya, sampai-sampai ia melarang orang-orang lain melakukan amal yang caranya lain walau mereka punya dalil tersendiri. Ia menjadikan dirinya sebagai "Yang Maha Tahu", terlalu yakin bahwa pasti pandangan dirinyalah satu-satunya yang benar, sedangkan pandangan yang lain pasti salah. Padahal, Allah Swt berfirman: "Janganlah kamu menganggap diri kamu suci; Dia lebih tahu siapa yang memelihara diri dari kejahatan." (an-Najm [53]: 32)

Muslim yang sok tahu cenderung menganggap kesalahan kecil sebagai dosa besar dan menjadikan dosa itu identik dengan kesesatan dan kekafiran! Lalu atas dasar itu dengan gampangnya ia mengeluarkan 'vonis hukuman mati'. Padahal, dalam sebuah hadits shahih dari Usamah bin Zaid dikabarkan, "Barangsiapa mengucapkan laa ilaaha illallaah, maka ia telah Islam dan terpelihara jiwa dan hartanya. Andaikan ia mengucapkannya lantaran takut atau hendak berlindung dari tajamnya pedang, maka hak perhitungannya ada pada Allah. Sedang bagi kita cukuplah dengan yang lahiriah."

5. Menutup Telinga dan Membuang Muka Bila Mendengar Pendapat Lain

Orang yang sok tahu tidak memberi peluang untuk berdiskusi dengan orang lain. Kalau toh ia memasuki forum diskusi di suatu situs, misalnya, ia melakukannya bukan untuk mempertimbangkan pendapat yang berbeda dengan pandangan yang selama ini ia anut, melainkan untuk mengumandangkan pendapatnya sendiri. Ia hanya melihat selayang pandang gagasan orang-orang lain, lalu menyerang mereka bila berlainan dengannya. Ia tidak mau tahu bagaimana mereka berhujjah (berargumentasi).

Di samping itu, orang yang sok tahu itu bersikap fanatik pada pendapat golongannya sendiri. Seolah-olah ia berseru, "Adalah hak kami untuk berbicara dan adalah kewajiban kalian untuk mendengarkan. Hak kami menetapkan, kewajiban kalian mengikuti kami. Pendapat kami semuanya benar, pendapat kalian banyak salahnya." Orang yang terlalu fanatik itu tidak mengakui jalan tengah. Ia menyalahgunakan aksioma, "Yang haq adalah haq, yang bathil adalah bathil."

6. Suka Menyatakan Pendapat Tanpa Dasar Yang Kuat

Muslim yang sok tahu gemar menyampaikan pendapatnya dengan mengatasnamakan Islam tanpa memeriksa kuat-lemahnya dasar-dasarnya. Ia suka berkata, "Menurut Islam begini.... Islam sudah jelas melarang begitu...." dan sebagainya, padahal yang ia ucapkan sesungguhnya hanyalah, "Menurut saya begini.... Saya melarang keras engkau begitu...." dan seterusnya. Kalau toh ia berkata, "Menurut saya bla bla bla....", ia hanya mengemukakan opini pribadinya belaka tanpa disertai dalil yang kuat, baik dalil naqli maupun aqli.

7. Suka Berdebat Kusir

Jika pendapatnya dikritik orang lain, orang yang sok tahu itu berusaha keras mempertahankan pandangannya dan balas menyerang balik pengkritiknya. Ia enggan mencari celah-celah kelemahan di dalam pendapatnya sendiri ataupun sisi-sisi kelebihan lawan diskusinya. Sebaliknya, ia tekun mencari-cari kekurangan lawan debatnya dan menonjol-nonjolkan kekuatan pendapatnya. Dengan kata lain, setiap berdiskusi ia bertujuan memenangkan perdebatan, bukan mencari kebenaran.

Demikianlah beberapa ciri orang yang sok tahu menurut surat al-'Alaq dalam pemahamanku. Dengan mengenali ciri-ciri tersebut, semoga kita masing-masing dapat melakukan introspeksi dan memperbaiki diri sehingga kita tidak menjadi orang yang sok tahu. Amiin..

Foto bugil personil Trio Macan beredar di internet. Mendengar kabar itu, para personel Trio Macan mengaku kaget dan mengaku belum sempat melihat gambar-gambar tak senonoh tentang dirinya.

“Kita baru tahu ya dari teman. Itu juga ditelepon dan memang belum sempat melihatnya langsung. Mereka bilang juga ada sebuah media yang memberitakannya,” kata Iva, salah satu personil Trio Macan saat ditemui di Setiabudi Building, Jakarta, Kamis (23/4).
Saat disinggung soal komentar keluarga mengenai peredaran foto-foto mereka, Iva menjelaskan jika keluarga mereka belum mengetahui mengenai kabar ini.
“Keluarga belum tahu masalah ini. Kasihan mereka. Apalagi orang tua saya orang kampung, belum mengerti keadaan kota. Kalau ada pasti kita minta maaf kepada semua orang yang dirugikan,” jelas Iva.
Tapi lain lagi dengan pernyataan Lia Ladysta, personil Trio Macan lainnya yang mengaku pernah melihat foto telanjang yang diduga milik personil Trio Macan. “Saya lihat di internet, katanya ada foto telanjang Trio Macan. Ternyata bukan foto kami,” jelas Lia.

Sekjen PBB Frustrasi Terhadap Israel

New York (ANTARA News) - Sekretaris Jenderal Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa Ban Ki-moon kembali menyatakan kekecewaan mendalam terhadap rencana perluasan permukiman oleh Israel di Jerusalem Timur.

"Sekretaris Jenderal PBB sangat frustrasi seperti yang juga dirasakan oleh para pemimpin Palestina dan anggota Liga Arab terhadap pernyataan Israel soal pembangunan unit-unit permukiman baru di Jerusalem Timur," kata Juru Bicara Sekjen PBB Martin Nesirky menjawab pertanyaan wartawan di Markas Besar PBB, New York, Kamis (Jumat WIB).

Sebelumnya Sekjen Ban Ki-moon dan masyarakat internasional, termasuk Amerika Serikat, telah menyatakan mengutuk pengumuman Israel.

Kementerian Dalam Negeri Israel awal pekan ini mengumumkan bahwa pihaknya telah menyetujui rencana pembangunan 1.600 rumah baru di Jerusalem Timur.

"Pembangunan permukiman itu melanggar hukum internasional dan bertolak belakang dengan kewajiban Israel menyangkut Peta Jalan, serta mengganggu proses perdamaian," kata Ban.

Atas tindakan Israel itu, kata Nesirsky, PBB telah menyampaikan protes kepada Pemerintah Israel.

"Kita (PBB, red) juga melakukan kontak dengan pimpinan Palestina dan menyarankan mereka untuk terus berupaya menjalankan negosiasi-negosiasi tidak langsung," kata Nesirky.

Peta Jalan yang disahkan oleh kelompok Kuartet --yang terdiri atas PBB, Uni Eropa, Amerika Serikat dan Rusia, menyerukan terbentuknya dua negara, yaitu Israel dan Palestina, yang hidup berdampingan secara aman dan damai.

Sekjen PBB pada pekan depan dijadwalkan akan menghadiri pertemuan kelompok Kuarten di Moskow, Rusia.

Kehadirannya di pertemuan itu akan dilanjutkan dengan lawatan ke Israel, Tepi Barat dan Jalur Gaza.

Pemilu Iran Contoh Demokrasi Yang Baik

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Terpilihnya Mahmoud Ahmadinejad kembali menjadi Presiden Iran menjadi contoh yang baik bagi sebuah demokrasi, kata Direktur Eksekutif Centre for Dialogue of Cooperation among Civilization, Ahmad Mu`ti, di Jakarta Minggu.

Menurut dia, kemenangan Presiden incumbent Ahmadinejad dalam Pemilu presiden yang diumumkan Sabtu lalu dengan perolehan suara 63 persen adalah berkat dukungan dari sebagian besar warga miskin dan kaum konservatif Islam.

Pemilihan presiden yang berjalan cukup lancar dan aman, kata Mut`i juga menjadi simbol kemenangan demokrasi di negeri Islam tersebut.

"Kalau kemenangan Ahmadinejad masih menuai protes melalui aksi demo dari pihak lawannya itu hal yang wajar, apalagi yang mendemo hanya Mousavi, mantan perdana menteri moderat yang dikenal pro-barat," kata dia.

Kemenangan Ahmadinejad tersebut, kata Ahmad, juga mengandung tiga makna, yaitu menunjukkan keberhasilan dia dalam mengkonsolidasikan berbagai kebijakan di negaranya dan sekaligus dia mampu menjadi pahlawan bagi rakyatnya.

Kenapa Ahmadinejad disebut sebagia pahlawan, kata dia, karena kemenangannya banyak didukung oleh warga miskin yang memang menginginkan dia tetap menjadi presiden.

Selanjutnya, kemenangan tersebut juga berarti bahwa kaum konservatif anti Barat masih mendapatkan tempat dan dukungan besar dari warga muslim.

Sedangkan dalam konteks perdamaian dunia global, menurut Mut`i, ajakan Amerika Serikat terutama terkait masalah program nuklir tidak akan mengubah kebijakan dan sikap pemerintah Iran.

Hal itu, sambungnya, terjadi karena Iran memiliki alasan yang tepat, program pengembangan energi nuklir di negaranya tidak dimanfaatkan untuk membuat senjata tetapi untuk kepentingan teknologi sehingga tidak akan berpengaruh atau mengancam negara lain.

Jika ingin mengenakan larangan pengembangan reaktor nuklir, kata dia,seharusnya tidak hanya Iran yang ditekan dan disorot, tetapi juga negara-negara lainnya yang juga memanfaatkan bahan peledak tersebut.

Ahmad Mut`i juga menilai,kemenangan Ahmadinejad, menjadi simbol semakin menguatnya Islam konservatif sebagaimana yang terjadi di beberapa negara lain seperti di Indonesia yang ditandai dengan kemenangan PKS di beberapa daerah dalam pemilu lalu.

Namun demikian, kata dia, kemenangan Ahmadimejad ini juga akan membawa dampak buruk bagi upaya perdamaian Palestina karena Iran diketahui selama ini berada di belakang kelompok Hamas.

"Sebagaimana diketahui, selama ini Hamas sama sekali tidak bersedia untuk diajak berunding dengan Israel, sehingga dengan kemenangan Ahmadinejad akan semakin memperkuat kedudukan Hamas sehingga perundingan semakin sulit mendapatkan titik temu," kata dia.(*)

Wah…wah…repot juga ternyata kalau punya notebook buatan HP, bagaimana tidak repot? ketika kita membeli notebook buatan HP ini, tidak ada paketan drivernya. Kalau diinstal Vista, memang sich sebagian besar hardwarenya terdeteksi oleh Vista, tapi kalau kita mau menambah hardware baru, repot lagi kita, karena rata – rata hardware yang beredar sekarang ini tidak semua drivernya yang mendukung Vista. Lagi – lagi kita harus mengunduh driver hardware tersebut yang mendukung Vista di internet. Jalan satu – satunya agar kita bisa menginstal hardware baru tanpa direpotkan dengan driver yang tidak mendukung Vista, adalah dengan menginstal XP, namun jangan senang dulu karena di situs HP kita tidak akan menjumpai halaman untuk mengunduh driver – driver untuk C700 ini.

Nah, bagi anda yang menginstal XP pada notebook C700 ini namun mempunyai masalah dengan drivernya, anda bisa mengunduh driver Compaq Presario seri C700 ini, driver ini sebenarnya untuk Compaq Presario C791, namun jika notebook anda hardwarenya sama dengan C791 ini, anda bisa juga kok menggunakan driver C791 ini.

besar file sekitar 38 Mb jadi pastikan koneksi internet anda cepat dan stabil agar tidak terjadi kegagalan dalan pengunduhan. Setelah anda menginstal Microsoft UAA , silahkan anda menginstal soundcard anda, driver soundcard yang anda unduh, sengaja saya kumpulkan sehingga anda bisa memilih driver soundcard mana yang cocok untuk C700 anda. Pada saat instalasi otomatis, akan muncul pesan eror. Tenang saja, karena prosedur instalasinya adalah manual. Masuk Run (tombol windows + r), ketik “devmgmt.msc” tanpa tanda petik. Klik kanan pada Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus”, pilih Update Driver. Kemudian pilih “Install from a list or specific location”, klik Next, kemudian pilih “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”, klik next dan pilih “Sound, video and game controller” pada daftar yang muncul. Klik next dan pilih “Have Disk”, klik Browse, dan pilih lokasi tempat anda memekarkan folder soundcard anda (biasanya di C:\SWSETUP\). Biasanya akan muncul pilihan Continue Anyway dan Stop Installation. Silahkan pilih yang Continue Anyway. Setelah proses intalasi selesai, masuk Run (tombol windows + r), ketik “devmgmt.msc” tanpa tanda petik, dan perhatikan apakah pada “Sound, video and game controller” ada yang masih diberi tanda tanya. Jika masih berarti, driver soundcard yang anda install tidak cocok dengan soundcard anda, silahkan klik kanan pada hardware yang diberi tanda tanya dan pilih uninstall. Silhakan coba driver soundcard yang lain, yang sudah saya sediakan untuk anda, dan ulangi proses instalasinya seperti tadi.

5. Driver Modem
Silahkan unduh di ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp36001-36500/sp36089.exe , proses intalasinya sama dengan proses instalasi soundcard. Hanya saja, setelah anda memilih “Don’t search, I will choose the driver to install”, pada daftar hardware, silahkan anda pilih “modems”, dan ikuti proses instalasi selanjutnya, seperti pada proses instalasi soundcard
6. Driver Atheros Wifi

Silahkan unduh di http://www.atheros.cz/download.php?atheros=AR5006EG&system=1. Cara instalasinya, hampir sama dengan cara menginstal soundcard dan modem, namun setelah kita memilih “Install from a list or specific location”, klik Next dan pilih “Search for the best driver in these locations”, pilih “Include this location in the search:”, klik Browse dan pilih lokasi anda memekarkan driver WIFI anda, kemudian silahkan anda ikuti prosedur instalasi selanjutnya.

7. Driver LAN

Kebanyakan seri C700 ini menggunakan LAN Realtek, dimana XP biasanya sudah mengenali LAN ini, maka saya tidak menyertakan URL Link untuk mengunduhnya

8. Driver Webcam

Anda bisa mengunduh di ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35414.exe, anda juga bisa menambahkan Software Cyberlink Youcam, anda bisa googling untuk mendapatkannya.

Pada era seperti sekarang ini, tak ada perusahaan yang bisa lepas dari pemanfaatan teknologi informasi. Semua bidang usaha sangat memerlukan peranan TI dalam menjalankan usahanya. Yang paling standar adalah penyimpanan basis data karyawan secara digital di dalam komputer server. Fungsi lainnya begitu beragam, misalnya menyimpan data pelanggan, catatan transaksi, manajemen sistem informasi, dan penggunaan website.

Untuk itu, peranan administrator sebagai pengelola sekaligus "satpam" jaringan komputer adalah hal krusial dalam sebuah perusahaan. Apalagi kejahatan cyber kian marak terjadi. Targetnya? Jelas penyusupan ke dalam jaringan serta pencurian data-data rahasia milik perusahaan. Korban utama umumnya ialah lembaga finansial, seperti bank, kartu kredit, dan asuransi. Di sinilah tersimpan banyak data berharga yang amat berbahaya jika jatuh ke tangan pihak-pihak tak bertanggung jawab.

Dalam sebuah wawancara dengan situs InfoWorld, Francis de Souza (Senior Vice President Symantec's Enterprise Security Group) menyatakan kekhawatirannya terhadap tindakan kriminal cyber yang makin rapi cara kerjanya. "90 persen pembobolan jaringan pada tahun 2008 diotaki oleh kejahatan terorganisasi," jelas Francis, "sementara 10 persen sisanya terjadi akibat kecerobohan karyawan, misalnya menaruh file rahasia di flashdisk atau laptop yang kemudian dipinjamkan kepada orang lain."

Francis lalu mengungkapkan hasil penyelidikan Symantec mengenai operasional sebuah organisasi cybercrime. "Mereka biasanya terbagi menjadi empat tim: incursion, discovery, capture, dan attack," jelasnya.

Tim Incursion bertugas mencari jalan masuk ke jaringan komputer perusahaan target. Trik terpopuler yaitu dengan mengirimkan e-mail spam berisi malware kepada beberapa karyawan. Trik lain misalnya dengan menerobos website -- mencoba-coba password atau celah keamanan yang belum ditambal -- atau lewat SQL injection.

Setelah itu, tim pertama menyerahkan tugas kepada tim Discovery. Tim ini bertanggung jawab untuk memetakan jaringan yang sudah berhasil ditembus. Dari peta itu, mereka harus bisa mengerti data-data apa saja yang ada di situ dan di mana saja tempat penyimpanannya.

Hasil penemuan tim tersebut diserahkan kepada tim Capture. Mereka memiliki fungsi untuk menentukan data yang akan diambil, setelah menganalisis "harga" data tersebut dan seberapa tangguh perlindungannya. Tentu yang paling ideal adalah memilih data paling "mahal" dengan usaha peretasan semudah mungkin.

Fase terakhir, hadirlah tim Attack. Simpelnya, jika tim pertama sampai ketiga tugasnya berkaitan dengan infiltrasi, nah tim pamungkas ini melakukan eksfiltrasi. Merekalah yang bekerja memboyong data-data pilihan keluar dari jaringan lewat jalur yang tak diketahui oleh admin.

"Jika seluruh perusahaan paham ancaman bahaya dari para penjahat semacam ini, pasti mereka akan menjadikannya perhatian utama," ucap Francis menutup pembicaraan.

Flash website is looks great, but I think is bad for seo, why? I was get a lot of requests to have flash implemented on hotel websites because it looks cool. Yes having flash on your site does look neat if you only wanted to see a site containing entertainment. If you are a customer looking for a hotel room then maybe this isn't the best use of your website. You have to keep in mind two very important things if you are considering the use of flash elements. The first being your end user and the second being the search engines.

Customer's Perspective

When your potential clients are looking for hotel information with credit card in hand, do you really want them to be focused on some moving objects on your website? I would guess you would rather them focus on the reserve now button right? That being said it's best to always have the focus to your call to action. Most often, your customers do not have the time to be staring at some flash content and only want information about your property.

I feel the same way when I'm in a rush to do something or busy at work or with family. If I wanted information about something, having to click close or skip buttons to by pass all the none informational stuff on the site would be a pain. To get to the information I'm looking for, I'd rather move on to the next website on the search engine list. You really should think in the 3rd person view when considering the use of flash for your website. Pretend you only have 30 seconds to get the information you want and time yourself when looking at your website.

Flash and SEO Don't Get Along

It's common knowledge in the SEO world but no so common to most people. The search engine crawlers can not read anything that is produced in flash period. The use of flash looks like a huge blank spot on the website. When the crawlers are looking for information about your site to report back to the search engine database they won't find anything. What this means is that having the flash elements can severely hurt your chances of moving up the search engine rankings. Not only is it impossible to optimize your website with flash, you'll be distracting your audience from what you really want and that is a sale. Now this doesn't mean you don't have options to make your website look cool.

7 Tips to Improve Google Adsense Earnings Quickly for Beginner

Google Adsense is a pay per click programs that we can use to get money from the internet. Many online business people recommend this program to earn money from the internet. However, not a few who have failed to follow this program because they do not know how to optimize their site to earn much money. After I experimented for a little over the years, I got a few tips to increase revenue from google adsense, especially for publishers who had first time followed this program.

1. SEO and Content Quality

The first thing we notice is to bring as many visitors. So, to bring as many visitors, we must do SEO and create good quality of content. With this tips, I get about 75% of my traffic from search engines and, in my opinion, search engine visitors are the ones most likely to click on adverts, far more so than the regular visitors (which ties into the date based adverts above). Search engine visitors are on a journey to find some information, if they can't find what they want on my site then they might as well find it on one of my advertisers sites, and that's the good thing about contextual advertising - the ads are relevant to my readers.

2. Use the Right Template

Many of us who put Adsense code but leave it alone. I had a test to distinguish the template on some other blogs and the result is increased revenue, although we can relatively, depending on the topic of the blog. If we want to maximize your Adsense income from the blog layout, we can use some of the layout that was already optimized for Google Adsense. The author is mostly Adsense publisher and when seen from the form layout, themes or templates created an experience that he experienced.

3. Colour and Position

This is probably the optimization which is mentioned most regularly, but it's for good reason. You really should experiment with different ad positions and different colour combinations. Each time you make a change leave the ads for a week and see how your earnings alter. Make a note of what works and then try something new. I was always sceptical when I read these comments before but since I have started playing with positioning my adsense revenue has multiplied by 4 times (crazy but true). Personally I've found that blending ads into the site works very well but it's not the only way and you should try all the combinations you can think of.

4. Section Targeting

This one is a very simple change and is ridiculously straight forward to implement. Google have a simple comment tag that you can place around your primary content, and this is what your ads will be targeted to.

The idea is that you place these comments around your core page content. That is, the content which is mostly text, and which best reflects the content of your site. On a blog this will generally be the main post content. The reason you do this is so that the adverts don't target irrelevant content such as the links in your sidebar.

You can also add regions you want Google to ignore. I haven't used these myself but they are something I intend to try in the not too distant future. You can read more on the section targeting page of the Google Adsense help.

5. Maximize the Number of Ads

In accordance with Adsense ToS, we can put Ads 3 units, 1 Link Unit and Refferal Unit 2 in 1 pages. Maximize Adsense income by placing advertising forms are in the 1st page, but do not forget to keep it from damaging the article and the form of entire pages. Perform test several times to find the right format.

6. Give Description and Recommendation

If we put Refferal Unit (Firefox for example), it would be best if the ads displayed are not left alone. Put it on the refferal unit article advocating its use, for example, instead of stress using Internet Explorer due to malware and adware, use Firefox as your browser of choice. Give an explanation why refferal unit appropriate for use.

7. Update Articles Regularly

Visitor will be happy to come back to our site because there is a new article. In addition to increasing visitors, when articles in the update will have a set of new keywords that can bring relevant ads, and we can put some high paying keywords into a topic relevant articles.

Australia welcomes giant pandas with city party

Two giant pandas from China were welcomed to Australia on Saturday with gifts of bamboo and a city party before settling into their new home, a 25-acre (10-hectare) natural enclosure at the Adelaide Zoo.

Four-year-old male Wang Wang and 3-year-old female Fu Ni are on loan to the zoo for 10 years as part of a joint research program, and their arrival comes amid slightly strained relations between China and Australia.

"It's a dream come true," said zoo CEO Chris West. "It's a journey ended and a journey started."

Twelve life-size panda figures lined the runway at the Adelaide airport, where the animals' flight was met by state Premier Mike Rann and other state and zoo officials holding a "Welcome" sign and branches of bamboo.

An 18-vehicle convoy of floats then left the airport for downtown Adelaide, where a parade through the streets was followed by a public party lasting all afternoon.

The pandas were given a police escort to the zoo, which built an 8 million Australian dollar ($7.25 million) enclosure that includes bamboo plants and refrigerated rocks to keep them comfortable in Adelaide's hot summers. Two Chinese handlers traveled with the pandas and will stay in Adelaide for a few months to help with their adjustment.

"They're in the quarantine area and they're very happy and relaxed," zoo spokeswoman Emily Rice said as they animals settled in to their new quarters, stretching their legs and munching on fruit.

The pandas will be in quarantine at the zoo for 30 days, but will be visible to the public behind glass when their exhibit opens Dec. 14.

West said the pandas are expected to generate more than AU$600 million for the South Australia state economy during their time here, with an anticipated 262,000 overseas visitors and 1.3 million Australians visiting Adelaide to see the animals.

China often sends gifts of its unofficial national mascot to foreign nations as a sign of friendship. Chinese President Hu Jintao offered the pandas as a goodwill gesture during a 2007 visit to Australia.

However, relations have recently become strained between the countries, with Beijing upset over alleged Australian government restrictions on Chinese investment in mining, and the arrest of an Australian mining executive in China.

The two pandas had been living at the Bifengxia Giant Panda Breeding Center in Ya'an City in southwestern Sichuan province, after the Wolong Giant Panda Research Center where they were living was destroyed in a massive earthquake last year.

Only about 1,600 of the animals live in the wild, while another 120 are in Chinese breeding facilities and zoos.

China uses payments from zoos that host loaned pandas to fund research and breeding programs. Under such loan agreements, any panda cubs born overseas to lent animals remain China's property.

Woman sees image of Jesus on her iron

A Massachusetts woman who recently separated from her husband and had her hours cut at work says an image of Jesus Christ she sees on her iron has reassured her that "life is going to be good."
Mary Jo Coady first noticed the image Sunday when she walked into her daughter's room.
The brownish residue on the bottom of the iron looks like the face of a man with long hair.
The 44-year-old Coady was raised Catholic. She and her two college-age daughters agree that the image looks like Jesus and is proof that "he's listening."
Coady tells The Eagle-Tribune she hopes her story will inspire others during the holidays. She says she plans to keep the iron in a closet and buy a new one

Making fuel out of Rice Straw, Wheat straw & Corn stalks

The ability to make ethanol from straw-- rice straw, wheat straw, oat straw, etc—is the modern day equivalent of the Holy Grail or the Philosopher’s Stone. In a time when barely any new oil fields have been discovered in the past ten year-- and a war in Iraq rages with such anarchistic abandon that it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to pump oil for a the next several year—well, the news that we can run our cars on this “new” fuel is a breathe of fresh air. Literally! Ethanol burns much cleaner that gasoline, and doesn’t add fossilized CO2 to the atmosphere: it is recycling present day CO2.

However, this new development does have Greenpeace and other environmental activists worried: It involves a genetically modified organism: a genetically engineered yeast
to convert glucose AND xylose into ethanol.

They added three genes to plain old Saccharomyces yeast so that it can break down both sugars at the same time.

They claim a 30~40% increase in yield. This could be a huge breakthrough--or a huge mistake. Xylose makes up roughly 30~40% of celluloid materials like corn stalks, grass, wood chips, leaves, etc. In short, a yeast that feeds on xylose can feed on almost anything in the plant kingdom.

Intensive research on cellulose conversion to ethanol previously focused on mechanical, heat and acid hydrolysis techniques, all of which are expensive. Propagating a yeast organism, on the other hand, seems as simple as baking bread or brewing beer.
But don’t expect that we small scale distillers will be able to buy this anytime soon.
It's the property of Purdue University & they have taken a completely novel approach to marketing this patented technology. They are “leasing” (not selling) the yeast to a Canadian company, Iogen. http://www.Iogen.ca Iogen is already producing ethanol and selling it to Petro-Canada for mixing with gas. They are claiming 75 Gallons per ton of straw, with roughly 2/3 of the straw being converted.

It is interesting that Iogen and Shell chose to announce this product to the world in Europe, which historically has been actively fighting any GMO products. Just a week later in Madison, Wisconsin, the 20th annual Fuel Ethanol Workshop had over 1500 ethanol industry attendees, including Iogen-- an exhibiting company, but no mention of this breakthrough was mentioned. Apparently, Iogen, Shell, and Petro-Canada are playing their cards close to their vests. The market for fuel ethanol is established beyond any doubt: it is presently a 3 billion dollar/year industry. By keeping this technology to themselves, a new bio-technology industry promises to be the new Middle East in terms of fuel supply.

The other corporate players in this announcement, DaimlerChrysler and VW, have long produced cars that will run or 85% to 100% alcohol--previously only in Brazil, but now in the US, too.

This above link lists various accidents and very dangerous and toxic side effects of genetic engineering efforts so far. An unrelated but somewhat parallel effort to produce a GMO yeast produced very high toxic levels of a mutagenic product, methyl glyoxal, with the potentially undesirable effect of getting loose into the food chain.

Big business stands to make billions on GMO products, especially one such as a new organism that can readily turn straw into fuel. The Iogen press release, below notes that collaborated with Shell and Petro-Canada.

It seems the real credit goes to Dr. Nancy Ho, a Purdue scientist who made her breakthrough in 1993. No mention was made of her or Purdue University in any of the Iogen or Shell press releases.
In terms of agriculture, if GMO organisms can be contained within the capital intensive manufacturing facilities (where trucks hauling rice and wheat straw will come and go every day) this means that farmers will no longer burn their rice straw. This will have an additional effect of containing CO2—nobody likes the smoke from huge field burns. But on the other hand, if these trucks end up picking up some “hitch-hiker” organisms on their rounds, the possibility of a GMO yeast that dissolves xylose, if it gets out into the environment, sounds like a script from a science fiction thriller.
