Card Candy

I've heard about this idea and seen it online with different groups I belong to but I've never fully understood the term Card Candy!!! I was the recipient of this Card Candy at convention! My up-line Susan Legits designed it and gave it as her group gift in our gift exchange!!! I can see myself doing this with my punches and the tons of scraps I seem to have in boxes just collecting dust!!!!! The cards are 3x3 and you can get 8 from a 12 x 12 sheet of paper just by cutting 3x6 inch pieces and folding in half !!!!!

Created by Karen Kurz : This was another item I received in the gotstamps gift exchange at convention!!! Karen saw this idea at leadership and on a couple of blogs!! She made 13 of them using build a brads and the circle punch!!! Karen also designed the box and lid in which the bracelet was given to us!! The box has a couple rub-ons on it as well!!!! I love how versatile our products are!!!!

DoorPrize Glass Jar

I used this jar on Tuesday night at my open house to hold my doorprizes in!! We saw this done at convention with the spooky spider decor element that is in in my previous post! I thought this would be a good door prize jar instead! My customer loved it(or maybe it was the doorprizes)!! Jar can be purchased at Walmart for $13.

My friend Leslie Banks (her link is in the right column on this page) was thinking of doing this idea! We saw something similiar on a glass jar at Convention! She wanted to use a pail instead!! I thought it was a great idea so I CASED it from her!!!! Hope that was ok Leslie!!!!
Now I have a pail I can put my Halloween treats in for the kiddos every year!!!! SPooky word and giant spider will be coming to a demonstrator near you this fall! The bucket I got at Home Depot! Orange craft paint at Walmart! Ribbon and smaller spiders can be found at Michael's.

DECORATING MADE EASY!!!

I REALLY REALLY LOVE the new Decor Elements Line by Stampin Up!!! I got to play this weekend with a bunch of the different elements to decorate my house! I wanted it ready for my open house Tuesday night!! Here is the frst thing I decorated! My front door!! I think it turned out really well!!!

When we bought my house in 1999 we put up a sign that said do not disturb before 4pm with a skull and crossbones picture. The reason we did this was because we worked nights and everyone in the world would knock or ring the doorbell!! I took the sign off my door when hubbie lost his job last Aug!! The tape was still on the door and was a pain to get off!! I thought it would be easy just to put the frame and monogram up! NO!!!! I had to scrape off the masking tape with a razor blad cause even UNDU didn't work!! I then had to repaint my front door as well!! All so I could make my monogram pretty!!!! So anyone have pics they want to share of their Decor Elements!!!!

Connie took an idea we've all have seen using the SU! Carousel notes and shrunk it!! This is a mini scrapbook purse using our New In Color CS and Bella Rose Designer Paper!! It uses the mini square envelopes and 3x3 gift cards!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Fridge SB Magnet

This is a coaster magnet for my Fridge! I'm gonna put a picture of me and my honey on it! Brenda stamped using the Fresh Cuts set to decorate the olive and Choc chip! She added a strip of ribbon to the round coaster!! Of course no gift is complete without chocolate!! The nuggets are wrapped in blank address labels that have been stamped!!

Mini Altoid Purse

Kathy Morgan designed this using an Altoid tin and SU!'s new Bella Rose DSP. After I've used the mints and chapstick I can Carry around my money and credit cards by using the handy little wrist strap! The scallop punched image on the left side is a tiny mirror(eyeball size). I love this idea!!!

Convention was a blast!!! I met so many new people and swapped about 500 cards and 3D items to get new ideas!!! Some of which I will post to my blog in the coming days and weeks!!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, THE NEW CATALOG! I'M SURE YOU WILL TOO!!

We have about 20 new designer papers + new Simply Scrappin kits and print papers!

My favorite convention announcement (in case you haven't been plugged into all the buzz)
SU! has partnered up with SIZZIX! We will have die-cuts and embossing images that are exclusive to us!! In Sept we will be carrying the Big Shot diecut/embossing machine and many SU! only dies!! BE SURE to hunt down your favorite demonstrator for all the details!!!!

Just wanted to touch base and fill you in on some stuff!! Once I catch up on my sleep and unpacking I'll be back with more!!

Evan MORE Convention SWAPS

MORE convention swaps!! I get bored easily!! I'm up to 500 swaps now! Not sure what this technique is called but my name for it is marker doodling (official name is called thumping)! I inked my image in Basful Blue and then took coordinating colors and markered them directly on the stamp! Huffed stamp to re-moisten and then stamped my image!!! Lightest to darkest colors work best for this tech so that markers don't get ruined!!

My Awesome Customers Part 2

Every Tuesday night my customers get together and stamp. I usually find time to join them! About 3 years ago on my birthday I got a card from each of them that night! It became a monthly thing, and for the last 3 years, once a month we celebrate birthdays in the group. Back in June on aTuesday night we celebrated Lyn and Liz's birthdays! These are the cards that were given to Lyn by some very talented ladies! HAPPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!!!
