humanitarian

as hard nuggets
we picked in streams
hammering these
small truths
until beautiful
or useful

Humanity
shelters the weak and old
so maybe we're a little bison
maybe we're a little of everything
with lessons to open
in churches of life
in sanctuaries of living
Maybe all species
reflect some aspect
of each other's societies
We are called a web of life

The idea,
is no idea
the understanding,
is no understanding
when there is nothing,
it is most fully present
and when in disarray,
is it most ordered

Puzzles
protect
the hard nuggets
we pick in streams
for lessons to open
where there is nothing

Don't matter

is pretty simple--
one sits,

Watch it quickly slow

A fire that burns
with its own light
a war that bursts

an eye that beams

swim for islands
shadowing shelter

boats of life
navigating time's pile
for the rising sun
and setting moon

encompassing everything
are the seas of spirit
with its own denizens
inhabiting heavens
that guide with light

that begs narrative
of ego's passion

into magical thinking
But we are magical beings,
souls with bodies
if you would believe
in hope, life, and love

on quality
often contentious
in their marriage
as most dualities are
in marriage
for richer or poorer

Wonder

pragmatism
with thrift and conservation
