A small touching story mainly for professionals

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
DAD: "Yeah sure, what it is?" replied the man.
SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" the man said angrily.

SON: "I just want to know.. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour."
SON: "Oh," the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: "Daddy, may I please borrow $10.00 ?"

The father was furious, "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behaviour."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: May be there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

"Are you asleep, son?" He asked.
"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.

"I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier" said the man.
"It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $10.00 you asked for."

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. "Oh, thank you daddy!" He yelled.

Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

"Why do you want more money if you already have some?" the father grumbled.

"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied.
"Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?

Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.

Do remember to share that $20.00 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

An OB friend

Yesterday I went to Living Grace Clinic for a check up and to ask medical certificate for my sore eyes! But sad to say, Dra. Guererro did not give me one since my sore eyes is still not okay. She said that it still has viral shedding. Okay fine! It was really a not productive week cause I still have to stay home till Sunday! Monday I will be okay to return to work!

Since I was the last patient, I had the chance to make chikka again to Dra. She was my OB since 2002. From Zoie to Zac, she was our one and only! Hahaha! So loyal!

But seriously now. Dra. Guererro was not just our "OB". She plays an important role in our life. We go to her whenever my husband and I have some problems. She gives us advice - really good advices. And I know it helped us a lot. My relationship with my husband went on a rough ride one time, and Dra. Guererro was there to guide us. She made our journey manageable.

Yesterday was another long hour of updating with her. Since I was working again, she asked me to tell her my stories with my work. With how I still can manage to take care of the kids. With my travel, even where I eat lunch. She told me to be really careful this time. She still is really concerned with me. And also with Jun2, she again told me how much my husband loves me and our family. She was able to build not just a patient-doctor relationship to us. She built more than that! That's why we really look up to her that much. She really is the friendliest doctor that a hospital could have. There was not a boring check up with her during my pregnancy. Also, my delivery, it doesn't seem to be frightening. She was there to calm you and make jokes and everything just to make you feel relax.

If time comes that we will have our church wedding, we will definitely have Dra Guererro as one of our sponsors.

So true! I am a working mom again! I started with my new work last August 2, 2010. How was it? Hmmm. Nothing much is going on right now. Im just still busy with the online training. With the work that I am going to do? I don't have any idea yet! hahaha

Anyways, there's a downside to this decision again! I am missing my kids so much! As in, every 6pm I want to fly immediately back home! I miss preparing them for school and then waiting for them to go back.

Well, you really have to sacrifice something in exchange for another thing.

I will be back to the corporate world after being a stay-at-home-working mom for 7 years. Yes, you read it right! It's time for me to help my husband! We have to work hand in hand specially that we have 4 kids to raise now!

I made a cake to celebrate my employment once again! And what better design to do than the shell logo right?!

So here it is. My girls helped me here. They sorted out the yellow and red candies. =)

I still don't know if I am serious about this getting back to the corporate world once again! And I don't know if I can still pass all those interviews to go along with it. But then, how will I know if I will not try?!

And so, yesterday, I went to Sm Bacoor for my interview. I applied for an Accounting Assistant position. The interview went well. I don't know if I will make it. They have another position soon to be available and they are offering it to me. A supervisory level at their cinema section. They said that responsibility includes monitoring sales of tickets, sales of food in the food section, and overall management of the cinema area. Whew!

I brought koko, zac and nanay with me to Sm. They waited for me at the foodcourt since the interview is near the foodcourt. Koko was so behave. I am so proud of him that he did not gave nanay a headache. He was just sitting and eating biscuits nanay said. Koko wanted to ride the ferris wheel. Goodluck! I am afraid of heights, and nanay doesnt want to ride with koko too. And so I have no other choice! Arghh.. I miss you now daddy! Koko enjoyed the 5minutes ride while I - well, I felt sick! hahaha I took some pictures. We ate at Goldilocks because it's nanay's favorite!

Mommy Moments - Kids and Bags

It's my comeback again here at Mommy Moments. Today's topic is all about our kid's bags. And luckily my kids have a number of bags - some are gifts and the others we bought for their school use.

These are Zoie and Kaori's bags. The mariposa bag was Zoie's pre-school bag. Which later Kaori used when she was in Kinder. That mariposa bag is still in good condition. That Hello Kitty Backpack is a gift for Zoie when she was still a few months old. And still looks like brand new up to now. Those small bags on the other hand are what they used whenever we go malling.

This is Zoie's school bag right now. It's a product of Hawk bags. I trust that it would last for at least 3 years after paying 3thousand pesos for this!

This is Kaori's bag. It is Zoie's bag last year. I just washed it ro remove some of the dirt and stains and then it's like magic! It looks like a brand new bag!

This are koko's backpacks - transformers and ben 10. What's inside those bags?! His little cars. 20cars to be exact!

Zac's diaper bag. The bigger one is handed over to me by my sister-in-law. While the other bag is Zoie's diaper bag (almost 8 eyars now!) It's a gift from my kumare and officemate.

I really take care of their bags, that's why they can last for a long time.

Mommy Moments - Unforgettable Summer

My kids were busy all throughout the summer season. Zoie and Kaori took their reading and math classes at their school. Koko on the other hand was on his all day-all play mood!

But before summer ends, something really great happened on my birthday.

That gift also made my kids so happy. And they wanted a different type of cookie baked everyday!
