HTC One Devices have Now cleared US customs

After Apple's patent complaints against HTC, The HTC One X and the HTC EVO 4G LTE shipments were affected by these proceedings, HTC has resolved the issue and the review process of the US customs is now done and the devices are free to enter the country.

HTC statement announced the End of the import ban:

"HTC devices have been released by US Customs as they are in compliance with the ITC's ruling. HTC has completed the review process with US Customs and HTC devices have been released, as they are in compliance with the ITC's ruling. Future shipments should continue to enter the US and we are confident that we will soon be able to meet the demand for our products."

According to a Korean tech site MK, Samsung is working on its own cloud service service similar to Apple's iCloud. Samsung's new service will called "sCloud". However, Samsung sCloud will offer more capacity and much more service than Apple iCloud. The sCloud service is said to be launching with Samsung's "Next GALAXY" device on May,3 event in london.

In sCloud, There won't be any limitations on the things you could upload, which means it will work like Dropbox and the upcoming Google Drive. It will even come with access to movies, popular TV shows and music. Free and paid content will also be available to various Samsung products such as laptops and tablets.

Quad-core Samsung Galaxy S III will get Superlative Scores in Benchmarks

Samsung using different processors for the same phone in different regions. Sources say that the Samsung "Galaxy S III", or the Next GALAXY that which is coming by May 3, will have a "Global" version, which will be the one with the quad-core processor, most likely the Exynos 4412.

That probably means there might be US carrier versions with Snapdragon, but let is not get ahead, May 3 is just around the corner. "As we have seen with Qualcomm S4, [quad-core] is not automatically better than a dual-core", the source added, as for users who are worried about performance.

He also said, " to expect superlative benchmark performance" from the quad-core Galaxy S III. Given that last year Exynos can hold clock for clock with the new Snapdragon S4, we would not be very surprised if 4412 blows every other Android silicon out of the water.

HTC One S Release date set for 25,April and T-Mobile price is $199

The HTC One S for T-Mobile will be released on April 25, officially announced the carrier today in a press release. Getting your hands on one will cost you $199 after a $50 mail-in rebate and requires your signature under a 2-year service agreement.

This time, we are getting three more names for Samsung Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Velvet, Galaxy Metrix and another name that sounds very cool "the Galaxy Legend". Samsung are likely to use these New Trademarks for upcoming Mid-range galaxy phones, but we expect samsung to use the legend name for a High-end device.

Apple CEO and Samsung CEO agree to meet in SF court for final Settlement

Since 2010, The legal battle between Apple and Samsung has gone on for too long and it is not just us but even the US court feels the same. Which is why judge Lucy Koh has asked CEOs of both companies to sit down and settle the matter once and for all.

The CEOs of the two companies, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple and Gee-Sung Choi, CEO of Samsung, have Agreed to meet in the San Francisco court to make settlement talks within the next 90 days, which will be overseen by the U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph S. Spero.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) will launch with a Quad-core processor instead of a dual-core

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) was originally reveald on the MWC 2012 earlier this year with a Dual-core processoron its specs, Samsung is rumored to swap this originally planned dual-core processor in the tab with a Quad-core endeavor, so this will inevitably mean some retooling and a bit more testing, hence the launch delay.

Quad-core is good for marketing purposes and as far as production costs go it is not much different than dual-core, especially if Samsung uses its own Exynos processors, but even if it has some Tegras lying around, the difference in assembly price should be insignificant. The 10-incher is codenamed Espresso and apparently scheduled for June launch.

"Xolo X900" first Intel Atom based Smartphone Going on sale Tomorrow

Intel CEO Paul Otellini announced during a financial earnings call that the company's first Atom based smartphone will go on sale "later this week".

This is not really a surprise because the Indian company Lava, with whom Intel partnered to make Atom based Android phones, has already announced their intentions to launch the Xolo X900 tomorrow, April 19, in India.

The X900 has a 4-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution with proximately 295 PPI, 8-megapixel camera with flash, 10fps burst mode and 1080p video recording, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage space, HSPA+ connectivity up to 21Mbps, HDMI out and NFC built-in. The device will launch with Android Gingerbread 2.3.7 and will be Upgraded to 4.0.3 in the near future.

The Xolo X900 will use Intel Atom Z2460 processor that has a single-core 1.6GHz Saltwell CPU with Hyper-Threading, PowerVR SGX540 GPU clocked at 400MHz and 32-bit Dual channel LPDDR2 memory. This processor, however, is based on Intel x86 architecture that differs from the one that ARM uses on almost every other SoC on the market, which means application compatibility is going to be an issue initially.

HTC One X or HTC One S WiFi Bug Fix is Here

There is some word making the rounds that particular HTC One X and HTC One S units are having problems with Wi-Fi connectivity. Apparently, when the flawed units go idle, the Wi-Fi connection is broken and will not reconnect when the phone wakes up from its sleep. HTC does have a software fix coming as firmware version 1.28 for the HTC One X does not have the same problem with Wi-Fi.

Until the fix is disseminated, there is a way that you can work around the bug by manually assigning an IP address on your Wi-Fi network. By doing this instead of using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), you will be able to keep your Wi-Fi connection running even when the phone awakens from a beauty sleep.

How to Fix it ?

First, go to Settings > Wifi and tell your phone to disconnect from your network if you're already connected to it.

Select your network once again from the list, and enter your password as usual.

Tick "Show advanced options" and some extra options will appear. Select "IP settings" and choose "Static" instead of "DHCP."

IP Address: The IP address you want to assign to your phone. This should normally be taken from the pool of IPs available for devices to claim via DHCP (check your router's admin page if in doubt). Usually something on the same subnet as your router will do. For example, if your router is 192.168.0.1, then 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254 should be good.

Gateway: The IP address of your router, usually 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.

Network prefix length: This is a different way of specifying your network's subnet mask (check a conversion table here). For most, the default "24" will work just fine.

DNS1/DNS2: Your ISP's primary and secondary DNS servers. If you're not sure, you can always use Google's public DNS service by entering 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, as we've done in our screenshots above.

Click "Connect" and you should be good to go!

Meizu MX Officially got a Quad-core version with Android ICS

Meizu just announced a Quad-core version of its MX smartphone, running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset will carry the name Meizu MX quad-core, and will bring several improvements to go with the new silicon.

The CPU of in the updated device will be a 32nm High-K Metal Gate, quad-core Samsung Exynos chip, featuring four Cortex-A9-based cores. Curiously enough, there is no info on the clock speed of the aforementioned. It will also have a 1,700 mAh Batery and will come with five colors.

The Meizu MX quad-core will come in a 32GB and 64GB versions. They will be priced in China at the highly attractive ¥2,999 (US$480) and ¥3,999 (US$635) respectively.

The next stop for the waterproof and dustproof smartphone is the UK, where it will be available on April 24th. In Germany the device was priced in a range of €370-€400 ($484-$523 USD). In the U.K., €365 should allow you to take it home.

Samsung flagship OLED HDTV to be revealed on August

Samsung confirmed on Friday that its 55-inch OLED SMART HDTV will be shown at Berlin IFA trade show in late August. Samsung describes the new televisions as even "more premium" than its OLED models, although that may be in terms of functionality rather than design or display technology.

Samsung unveiled its OLED TV at the Consumer Electronics show in January, however details remain scarce. Both television sets will reportedly support the newest iteration of Samsung All Share, which will add a 5GB cloud account to its local DNLA-based service, along with a remote login system, in the latter part of 2012. Using a single account login, the feature will allow users to remotely access any of theirSamsung devices located anywhere in the world.
