Thistle hotel, Johor Bahru

after short trip to Singapore, we decided to stay in Thistle hotel, Johor bahru. It was known as Hyatt before Thistle came over and re-branded and refurbished the hotel to what it is now. It was beautiful hotel with a very good rate. for a standard room we took, my kids are very happy with spacious bedroom, bed and toilet, unlike the day before where we spent a night in spore, the room are terribly small and we have to cramped and choked our self in a small room without window but much more expensive then Thistle.

called Q, its was our 2nd meet after 2 years lapse.. she is now full time models, vry good attitude... pretty also :) , btw it was not meant for model shot, but more to architectural / indoor shoot and meet-old-fren session. so some of the shot she helped me to "fill in the space" and once finish i shoot her while she was talking to one of our frens.

sapa kids playing at hillslope

reading lonely planet today about Vietnam while waiting to board my plane out from Ho Chi Minh has incited back my interest to explore more of Vietnam. it is more than a year now have not done any street shooting there. although am flying in and out quite frequently, just that the time dont permit. One thing i find interesting is, the north part are more interesting to photograph rather than southern side. the dress, the people and the surround, especially when you do it on film, really give you what you really want. a nice street photo.

may be i need to get myself further south to mekong delta... perhaps this november.. or dec... perhaps...

halal in Ho Chi Minh City

pada sesapa yang nak makan kat Ho Chi Minh city, ada byk outlet terutamanya dekat area Dong Du (sebut dom dzu) ..kasi kembang sikit pipi bila sebut.. situ ada masjid and bebrapa makanan halal,.. ada banyak kedai india muslim sekira area tu... tapi bukan kt jalan tu lah.... atau makan kt kedai yg serve purely sea food... diorang byk main rebus.. so x yah takut pasal minyak... atau kedai yg jual mi atau famously know as (pho') ada kedai yg hanya jual mee + ikan.. lain barang xde, mee dia rebus... buh sayur n daun daun fresh yg korang kene buh sendiri..

kat sini bersepah2 org mesia terutamanya kaum pompuan... shopping murah kut.. aku pon x tau.. x leh nak appreciate shopping.. tp kalau bab photo agak kurang best kalau nak compare ngn Hanoi yg lebih exsotik... kawan aku suka ayat eksotik ni kakkaka

series of my lovelys gals playing fireworks on the third day of raya in front of their granny house... i like the moment and will always like it and their expression.

this shots were all captured with the helps of my 2 SB600s. simple shot to others but to get it u need to test the flash light power so it wont overkill the light from fireworks n surrounding ambiance, makesure the flash were hardly noticeable.

shooting flower .. plumeria or frangipani

i plucked this flower from my garden decided to shoot using product shot style. the flower was placed upside down, dipped it into my long-time abandoned aquarium and set two SB 600 which one is snooted while anther reflected. i drip a water abit and woolllaaaa.. thats the effect.. but admittedly must do it few time before we get the "nicest" effect. ithink the above is just simple n clean.

tomorrow i will try maybe baloon burst.
