Ever have just one of those days? Today is mine. I asked them to clean. You would have thought I was crazy to actually ask them to do labor. I even got them a both a DVD to watch afterwards. OK guess you need more info. One is 12(boy) and one is 10(girl). They are cleaning the living room. Picking up some trash and putting some stuff away. It's not a big deal. They act like it's the end of the world. So here we all are. Waiting to watch The Last Air Bender and some Barbie that just came out. And then to top it off Clash of the Titans came from Netflix. Not a good day. lol

Hello! That is if anyone is still reading. I know I have been too quiet lately. I just didn't know what to blog. So I am starting over. I am removing stuff due to dead links and not wanting to find out which ones work. If I removed your link, reply and I can add it back. Maybe even with a updates graphic. Who knows!

I am excited to update my blog. I want to start posting more. Maybe not everyday but weekly. Things here are good. I got 4 cats now. So life is busy.

apartment/house hunting

Looking for a new place? Have you tried looking in the newspaper or online for apartments or houses? It's a mess. Sometimes they are gone or not what the renter even wanted in the ad. Believe me I have been there, done that. I found apartments. It's the best site. It helps you find places that except pets, stay in your budget, location for this perfect place and MORE. It's well worth the look. I have moved 7 times in the last 15 years. Help like this would have been welcomed. I know I bit off more than I could chew a few times. I didn't ask enough questions like late fees, cost of pets, the price of gas/electric/water/trash, or how old is the carpet. There is so much to finding the perfect house besides just signing a lease. How to pay rent each month? Does the new landlord want a check or money order and where to send it to? If there is a problem what number should I call? Those last 2 things are very important. Finding the perfect place VS. the perfect location. It's hard. Do you want to be near schools for walking or out in the country for the view?

It's even harder finding that perfect place and getting denied. I had that happen before we got this house. I fell in love before the lease was signed. Guess they knew something we didn't. It was a hard lesson to learn. The house we have now is close to one kid's school and walking distance to the other 2.

Knowing your rights as a renter. Everyone who rents should read up on that. It is even listed on this site. Read it until you understand it. If you don't understand it, ask questions. If this new renter/ apt. complex won't answer or doesn't care to, then find someone else to rent from. There is a lot of things that a landlord can't do. If you don't know these things, you might come home to find your front door open or everything in your garden cut down. Yeah I came home to find all my plants gone. He decided that it was all over grown and killed them all. There was nothing but dirt left. As a renter I should have known what would happen but I didn't. Next time I will be better prepared. Even knowing that your landlord comes out to "look around" the property would be nice to know. Or if he looks in the house. Yeah I found those 2 things out the hard way this past summer. If I had asked, he might have been willing to tell me before we paid the deposit and first months rent. I have been here almost 4 years. Guess he knew I was in a rush to move.

I have never used a mover but that perfect website even has them too. I bet if I had used a mover I wouldn't have broken so much stuff like my printer. I have 3 kids, husband, and 2 cats. Moving isn't just stressful it's an adventure. I still have stuff that I haven't gone through yet. I am not looking forward to moving again. Next time I would get better and bigger boxes. I would buy totes to store things in for longer times. I would mark everything. I would pack one whole room before moving on. Then hire someone else to move it! I was told that HUGE truck that I got would have moved 3 bedrooms, one living room, one dinning room, and one kitchen if someone else had packed it. Guessing I didn't do it right. We made 3 trips and then moved so much more in my minivan. Lesson learned!

So if you are looking for apartments or houses this is the best site around. You should check them out. You might just have the perfect unit just waiting on you there. :) Happy Hunting!

I think these photos say enough. Like Where not to put the plastic items when you use the oven. Then again they did turn out pretty good.

This is Curious George. He is our "found" cat. Yes I never get the chance to find any they find me. This one came form around the block somewhere. He is young. I think going on a year. This was his first snow day. I don't think he liked it. He can and found me afterwards and HID. He is a cutie.

So I get my box in the mail last week. It was a Wednesday. Two of my kids carried it in. YES it weighed a ton. It had 12 copies of Firefly Lane, 2 copies of True Colors and 1 copy of Winter Garden. It was like Christmas morning. Each book smelled so good. Yeah I smelled the box. So after sitting and reflecting on that I opened Winter Garden. I read it in 2 days. It's amazing. I couldn't put it down. I don't want to give away to much but what those sisters endured and then finally finding out the truth. It's just amazing. I would love to talk to someone else who has read it but it doesn't really come out until March. I don't actually recall the date.

Now I am reading True Colors. I am finding it to be just as good. This one has 3 sisters in it. They grew up on a ranch. I LOVE horse stories. This on is turning out to be a winner too. I think I am on chapter 6. It's starting to naw at me. I want to go read all the time.

I haven't started Firefly Lane. I hear it's awesome. I will start it next. Then hit the library for more of her books.

Oh where has the year gone. It's amazing that 2009 went so fast. I really enjoyed blogging. I enjoyed reading the RSS Feeds and emails that came in my email. I know I should have replied more on blogs but there is never enough time. I am gonna try to get a list of my favorite blogs from 2009 together. There was so many.

I joined a new site to try. Who knows maybe some of you will actually post a reply and tell me your opinion. It's Listia (linky here).

It looks pretty good. I listed a book. I so hope that I don't get into trouble. I got it from a House Party but not very many have signed up to attend mine. Maybe this way will work better.

I recently had a smoothie at this place. It's in Fairborn Ohio. It's a little out of the way on 313 West Main Street. It's a great place. The staff is wonderful. Very chatty like they have known you your whole life. I felt at peace sipping my Strawberry Smoothie. It was a very hot day so I asked they they thought would be perfect. I spent a little over $5 or so but I got cookies too.

PS: They have a cute business card. I asked for one. I just LOVE business cards.
