Ladies and Gentleman release confirmed on April 12. More Release Reports will come soon

The story of Ladies and Gentleman revolves around Chandrabose (Mohanlal), an irrepressible, delightful gentleman and his accidental involvement and influence in the lives of young women around him

. It marks the reunion of Mohanlal and Siddique after a pretty long gap of 20 years. The strongest points of L and G, besides the presence of these gifted gentlemen, are the characterization of Chandrabose and the crisp narrative pattern, laced with humour. While the film is fashioned as a clean family entertainer, it also leaves out a strong message subtly-that life is all about positive attitude.

Planter Avarachan Mohanlal - Reanjith new movie latest reports

2013-02-20T03:52:00.004-08:00

Planter Avarachan malayalam movie directed by Renjith will feature Mohanlal in lead. Produced by Ranjith under Capitol Theatres will start shooting after the works of his Mammootty starrer 'Leela'. After the majestic success of 'Spirit', all eyes are on this upcoming project which would truly create waves.

Renjith known to malayalam audience as a film maker and script writer is a multi talented personality who had made success in almost all the projects that he helmed. Keeping his foot strong as a script writer and director, Renjith had given a handful of projects which had done wonders in box office. Giving back to back hits including Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Pranchiyettan and The Saint, Indian Rupee and Spirit, Renjith is back in driving seat with another venture titled 'Planter Avarachan' with Mohanlal in lead.

Renjith who has touched the soul of malayalam movie industry will handle the major parts of movie including story script, dialogue, production along with direction. Produced by Capitol Theatres, his own production company, the movie will go on floor after the works completion of his current project 'Leela' which features Mammootty and Karthika Nair.

Add caption

Renjith who has 2 decades of long friendship with the big M's Mohanlal and Mammootty, has not missed any chance to work the stars. Renjith and Mohanlal had worked together for Devasuram, Aaraam Thampuran, Ustaad, Narashimham, Ravanaprabhu, Chandrolsavam, Rock & Roll and Spirit keeping their alliance more close and firm. Being one of the most successful director & actor combo currently in Malayalam cinema, this companionship would turn things in favour of them.

His previous flick Spirit which proved to enthrall the audience had made 100 days of theatrical run and was declared a box office hit. Produced with a budget of 3.5 Crore, the movie managed to collect 8.2 Crore from the theatres.

So expectation would be on the peak as the malayalam movie fans do have strong faith in the credibility of Renjith's screenplay. His script works for the movie Bavuttiyude Namathil directed by G.S Vijayan featuring Mammootty in lead had done the magic which managed to bring positive response from theatres. The movie was a real challenge for the lead actor Mammotty who was struggling with the meager performances of his previous ventures.

So let us hope that "Planter Avarachan" will be a complete entertainer focusing on a theme with firm roots of family drama.

Lately, megastar Mohanlal's projects are being tweaked to match the taste of the audience and the latest in the list is Johny Anthony's next project.

The duo were supposed to start filming late last year for Aaru Muthal Arupathuverrey. TOP 10 mohanlal comedy movies will be updated soon

Every time I see the movies of Mohanlal he amazed me again and again. Other than Kamalhassan I have never seen such a versatile actor. Mohanlal’s acting career spanning over 30 years now has given the Indian cinema some memorable performances- performances one and only Mohanlal can enact. Through his acting, he has become the darling of the people of Kerala. Here is a collection of ten of his best movies and if you have seen these movies you have blessed to see some divine acting by one and only Mohanlal.

1 - Vanaprastham by Shaji N Karun

This movie of Mohanlal will be first in my list of the must watch movies of him. Kathakali is an art form of Kerala that requires years and years of practice to master it. Here in this movie Mohanlal performs the role of a Kathakali artist Kunhikuttan and he performs Kathakali even better than the seasoned folks with no previous experience. He won the National and State Award for the Best Actor for this movie. Here is the clip from the movie. Simply superb

2 – Thanmatra by Blessy

This film portrays Rameshan Nair (enacted to greatness by Mohanlal) who gets affected by Alzheimer’s disease and changes that bring to his life and family due to that disease. This beautiful movie directed by one of the most promising director of the present generation Blessy swept the state awards for the year 2005. Mohanlal won the State Award for the best actor for this movie.

3 – Kireedom by Sibi Malayil

The trio of Mohanlal-Lohithadas- Sibi Malayil has given a lot of super hits and this movie will come in the top of that list. Kireedom narrates the story of Sethumadhavan, whose fate was to be typecast as a rowdy by the villagers. He won the National Award for the best actor in 1989 for this movie. Priyadarshan remade this movie into Hindi (Gardish) and later 18 years this movie was remade in Tamil with the same name with Ajith as hero.

4 – Chitram by Priyadarshan

This movie is one of the greatest hits of all time in Malayalam. Mohanlal portrays the role of a husband who is hired to do that role for a fortnight. The ease at which Mohanlal does comedy scenes in this movie made him the darling of the masses.

5 – Devasuram by I V Sasi

Another great movie of Mohanlal – the rivalry between Mangalasherry Neelakantan (Mohanlal) and Mundakkal Shekaran (Napoleon) is the main theme of the movie. Nothing new in the story line but the main attraction of this movie was the great acting by Mohanlal.

6 – T.P Balagopalan M.A by Satyan Anthikad

Mohanlal won his first state award in 1986 for best actor for portraying the role of an educated youth who is trying hard to make both ends meet.

7 – Bharatham by Sibi Malayil

Another movie from Mohanlal-Lohithadas-Sibi Malayil that fetched Mohanlal the national award for the best actor. This movie has some great songs with classical touch composed by late Raveendran.

8 – Nadodikattu by Santyan Anthikad

One of the many hits of Satyan Anthikad-Mohanlal-Sreenivasan team. This movie narrates the story of Dasan (Mohanlal) and Vijayan (Sreenivasan) who were fooled by an agent and land in Chennai instead of Dubai. This movie has become such a hit that two more sequel of it has already hit the theatres and they are working on the fourth sequel of this movie. Here is the scene from the movie. Enjoy!

9 – Vellanakalude Nadu by Priyadarshan

Another movie directed by Priyadarshan is a satire that shows the difficulties faced by a Contractor. In this movie Mohanlal enacts the role of Contractor who had to face one trouble after another and Mohanlal has done this role to perfection.

10 – Varavelppu by Satyan Anthikad

This movie depicts the trade union problems that is prevalent in Kerala and was a huge hit. Mohanlal plays the role of a gulf returnee who buys a bus to make a living and how he was forced to run from pillar to post to keep his bus from running. Finally the movie ends with Mohanlal going back to Middle East losing everything he had. A great movie by the team Satyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan-Mohanlal.

It is tough to pick the top ten movies for an actor like Mohanlal There are other movies where Mohanlal’s performance was great like Padamudra, Ulsavapittennu, Thoovanathumbikal, Namukkuparkkan Monthirithoppukal, Paradesi, Sanmanasullavarkku Samadhanam – to name few. But the above ten movies should give one an idea of the great versatility of this actor.

Another example of versatility of Mohanlal. See the scene from the same movie taken in three different language – Manichitrathazhu in Malayalam, Chandramuki in Tamil and Bhool Bhulaiya in Hindi. See these scenes and judge yourself why Mohanlal is one of the greatest actor on Indian cineama.

Mohanlal to me is what Sachin Tendulkar is for cricket. Both are the best in their field.

Lokpal First Day Collection Report

2013-02-06T07:58:00.003-08:00

Collection Report DAY 1 is recorded to be 1crore [ UNOFFICIAL DECLARED}
Lokpal is the first film of superstar Mohanlal this year. Joshiy - Mohanlal duo is back after blockbuster Run Babby Run(2012). Also S N Swami is scripting for a Mohanlal - Joshiy film after a gap of 22 years. This troi's last film was Naduvazhikal(1989) which was a blockbuster then.

PLOT :
Lokpal is a political action thriller led by Mohanlal as Nandagopal who runs a restaurant Nandoos Foodcourt. In cover he is also a social activist who fights corruption among social and political leaders and police officers.

REVIEW :
Since this was a film that unites the trio Mohanlal, Joshiy and S N Swami after 22 years, expected a lot from the film. The film lets you down because of it's weak script. S N Swami tries to deliver a thrilling script by producing Mohanlal in six different avatars. Mohanlal with utmost ease and conviction dons various avatars successfully.
Veteran director Joshiy brings best out of him to make Lokpal a watchable flick. The casting of the film is appreciable with good performances from each of them. Kavya Madhavan is pretty and delivers a fair performance. Meera Nandan hardly had few scenes to do and was disappointing. Manoj K Jayan, Sai kumar and Shami Thilakan has done justice to their roles.
Pradeep Nair’s cinematography was commendable. Some of his frames, close-up shots, cutaways and camera works were watchable. Music Ratheesh Vaga didn't create waves as for Run Babby Run though the background score was extremely good. Editor Shyam Sasidharan's editing was suitable to the mood.

REVIEW BY FOBER INDIAN LMT

Directed by Major Ravi, Karmayodha starring Mohanlal is mainly meant for Mohanlal fans. Mohanlal has come up with yet another great performance with some good dialogues and fight sequences. Mohanlal successfully carries the burden of the whole movie.

Casting seems to be imperfect whereas the villain was superb. Ci
nematography by Pradeep Nair is good. Music by MG Sreekumar didn't keep up the expectations. Background score by Jeffrey Jonathan is really appreciable.

Karmayodha will not let you down like previous movies of Major Ravi. Theme of the movie seems good and realistic. Scripting could have been better with a better climax. Some sequences reminds us of the movie 'TAKEN (2008)'.

Overall Karmayodha is an average movie with many imperfections and primarily made for fans. Major Ravi should refine himself.

Story :
The investigative thriller focuses on human trafficking of young girls. Madhava Menon a.k.a. Mad Maddy (Mohanlal) is an encounter specialist who dares to take decisions on the spot, without always waiting for orders from the top. He initiates the investigation of abduction of girls trapped by the mafia behind. The film attempts to make the society aware how kids are trapped by the mafia groups taking advantage of technology like mobile phones. Involved with child trafficking, the movie dwells into the flesh trade booming in the international scenario. The film also throws light on the diminishing joint family system in the society. Stressing that when the society moves on with Nucleus Family Culture, what is getting de-rooted is the bonding between the family members and the security that they offer with love and affection to the future generation. The movie in the backdrop of human trafficking and a thick family drama leaves a message to the society in the end

Billion Dollar Raja Latest Reports january 2012

2012-11-30T19:00:00.003-08:00

Although Mohanlal's much-hyped venture 'Nair San' with Jackie Chan never took off, fans of Malayalam cinema can now rejoice. The megastar has landed another ticket to Hollywood. The actor has clinched the deal to play tainted hedge-fund billionaire Raj Rajaratnam in US-based Gujarati director Nayan Padrai's upcoming Hollywood flick, 'Billion Dollar Raja'.

Confirming the news, Mohanlal says, "Yes, I was approached for the Hollywood film. However, it's too early to reveal the details of the project. I will give more information about it once the film goes on floors."

The actor, whose schedule for the next two years is almost packed, is also tight-lipped about when and how he would accommodate the project. "For all I can say at the moment, yes, the project is in the pipeline," he adds.

At the peak of his career, Raj had managed more than US $7 billion and was considered one of Wall Street's ingenious stock pickers before he was found guilty and sentenced in October 2011 to 11 years in US federal prison, on counts of security frauds and conspiracy to commit them. This was the longest-ever prison sentence for insider trading in USA.

Talking to us from the US, director Nayan says that he, along with producer Sheetal Vyas, had finished scripting the film a few months ago and had been in discussion with Mohanlal ever since."Mohanlal's similarity to Raj is uncanny. But that's just a small reason for choosing him; he's such a brilliant actor and we are huge fans of his movies," he says. Incidentally, the casting news of Mohanlal comes exactly a year after Nayan's production house had announced the project, in the wake of Occupy Wall Street campaign and Raj's sentence. And this time too, it is expected to make headlines with ex-Goldman Sachs director Rajat Gupta, one of those convicted in the case, awaiting sentence later this month. A host of colourful characters pla

ying the fund manager's highly-placed friends will also add more star power to the big-budget flick, which will primarily be shot in New York, besides in a few other foreign locations. About the movie, Nayan, who previously helmed the English film When Harry Tries to Marry which was also produced by Sheetal, says, "It's a story of greed, philanthropy, back-stabbing, wire-tapping and the rise and fall of a billionaire. It has all the drama elements which are possibly trademarks of a great movie in the making."

Mohanlal As ISRO Scientist in Science Fiction Movie

2012-10-27T00:12:00.001-07:00

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is set to enact the role of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in a film by actor-director Anant Mahadevan.

Narayanan was charged with leaking defence secrets in 1994 but was subsequently exonerated from the charges. Earlier this month, the Kerala High Court asked the state government to pay him Rs 10 lakh as interim relief.

Mahadevan said discussions with Narayanan have been on for the last six months.

“The movie, to be produced in Hindi and Malayalam, will have Mohanlal in the lead. The rest of the cast will be from the Hindi film industry,’’ he said.
