Someone in Pennsylvania has put up something for auction that is beyond odd. It borders on the pathetic with a slight hint of someone needing attention.

Here’s the auction, in the owners (can you own a slap?) own words.

Up for bid is a hard hand smack to the face by my lovely wife! This is a 1 time smack only! You MUST travel to the location of what is chosen! You MUST be fully clothed with nothing covering your face!

This will be a hard slap and you will be signing a waver so that no lawsuit happens due to any injury/injuries that may occur! I, (Her Husband), will be there to protect her! NO TYPE OF RECORDING WILL BE USED! After bid is final, the arrangment will be made! This is for both women and men! Can you take a hard slap to the face by my lovely wife?

If I were you I’d avoid this auction—you can probably find someone that lives a lot closer to you to give you a slap for free. No, really.

You get up in the morning and pop some bread into the toaster for breakfast. Watch out! You might not end up with toast but with EBay Toast!

This is where you’re going along with your normal morning routine and suddenly the likeness of Abraham Lincoln appears on your toast!

Will people bid on such a thing? Oh goodness, you vastly underestimate people’s desire for the bizarre if you think something like that won’t garner dozens of bids!

People have purchased the likeness of the Virgin Mary on a toasted cheese sandwich, and even the likeness of the famed creator of the Daleks on toasted bread.

If toast isn’t your thing, then perhaps you might consider buying a possessed pancake from a family in Germany who are selling it in order to free themselves from the evil it has brought to their family.

Strange things began happening in their home after the pancake was created during a loss of electricity.

Once upon a time there was a man and a woman who fell madly in love.

They loved each other so much that they decided to seal their love by entering into the holy bonds of matrimony.

For a while all was bliss, sunshine, roses and fluffy kittens.

You may have heard (and if you were very unlucky, seen) the story about a gentleman who had a lovely silver tea kettle he wanted to sell on eBay.

Most sellers know that in order to make sale they need to post a picture of their item. It should be an exceptional picture and one that stands out from all the other items for sale.

This particular gentleman went above and beyond the call of duty in photographing his item.
We don’t know if it was a hot day when the picture was taken, but what we do know is that the seller was engaging in photography while wearing only his birthday suit.

The reason we know this is not because he told anyone but because he seemed to have forgotten that a silver tea kettle is a reflective surface and posted the picture he’d taken with his nude body gracing the front of the kettle.I’m not going to give you the picture here because it’s disturbing on many levels.

Suffice it to say that it’s still available to view online if you’re of a mind to Google such things as ‘naked man reflected on eBay’, but we wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a strong stomach.

Once upon a time a young man living in the San Francisco area had a computer. His name was Craig Newmark and he started posting things about cool things going on around town.

Its popularity grew in leaps and bounds, so Craig had to get a Listserver majordomo, which required a name. He wanted to call his list ‘sf-events’ but was persuaded to call it Craigslist, since that is essentially what it was at the time.

Later, people started adding other things to the list, like apartments for rent and garage sale items. Craigslist is in every state and in most countries and it’s become a great way to sell things and services to people.

If you have bunk beds that your children have outgrown, post them on Craigslist and watch the buyers come in droves.

People are always searching for great deals and there are tons of products priced quite reasonably there.

Some people scour garage sales in their neighborhoods, purchasing bargains and then reselling them for a profit. Craigslist is another great way to make money online.

Yes Virginia, there is a special place called eBay, where all the used clothing, the Barry Manilow cd’s people got tired of, recycled wedding gowns, eBooks on how to get gum out of your hair and all the odd toys from the island of misfit toys come to be sold at auction to the highest bidder~~and people are making a killing there.

If you have something you would like to sell, something you don’t need any longer, you can put it up for sale on Ebay.

Set up a free account, browse the categories’ they offer to get an idea of what’s for sale and then either buy something or put something up for sale yourself. For a small fee, you can add pictures to your listing and create your own sales page to bring in customers.

If you have a large inventory of things, like…oh, say garden gnomes with pygmy goat companions, you can have an online eBay store to sell your stock of the little critters.

You can customize your auctions for three days or an entire week, depending upon how much exposure you want and how fast you’d like it to go.

Set a reserve price for your product, so that someone can simply pay that price, end the auction and go home with your product. Ebay is an excellent way to make money online.

The last two tips I have for you to become a top eBay seller is to use a shorter auction cycle and offer money back guarantees.

Using a shorter cycle, three days instead of five, means that you’ll get your money faster, potentially make more sales and perhaps reach a larger customer base.

Another great way to become a top eBay seller is to become a seller that is allowed to offer a fixed-price Buy-it-now price.

This enables you to set a fixed price that you will sell at which a buyer can then meet and the auction is over!

The plus side to this is that you get your money sooner, rather than waiting for the end of the auction cycle and your buyers get their items faster.
