Juventus, also fondly referred to by fans as Juve, is one of the most successful football teams in Italy’s history. Founded in 1887, the team has won over 51 trophies – 40 in Italy alone and 11 from European and world matches. The club boasts over 170,000,000 fans from around the globe.

9. Liverpool – UK

The Liverpool Football Club prides itself on excellence despite a rocky start over 100 years ago. When John Houlding took over the club in 1892 there were only three players left, but he eventually grew the team and was able to continue the tradition of football at Anfield – one that has remained ever since. They won their first title in 1901, took their first FA cup in 1965, and took their first European Cup in 1977.

8. Roma – Italy

A.S. Roma, as the team is formally called, was founded in 1927 and was one of several Italian football teams based out of Rome. The team was actually the result of the merger of several Italian teams- Alba, Fortidudo, and and Pro Roma – because the government wanted to form a strong team for members of the working class to look up to. Roma took the World Cup in 2007 after successfully defeating France.

7. Valencia – Spain

Back in the early 1900’s entry to see a Valencia football match at Algiros cost a mere 25 cents. The club was new but spirits were high and the original team was chock full of aggressive players like Arturo Montesinos and Eduardo Cubells. The club has a long history of success and continues to grow in popularity!

Fans flock to Emirates Stadium in droves of thousands to watch the Arsenal Football Club play. The club was founded in 1885 but didn’t play its first match until 1893 (while known as Woolrich). They played at Highbury for 93 years before moving to Emirates in 1996.

5. Inter Milan – Italy

Inter Milan as formed back in 1908 by a group of rebels that called themselves Football Club Internazionale Milano. Why were they rebels? They wanted, unlike the original Milan Cricket and Football Club, to welcome foreign players on their team. Inter Milan won the Italian League title for the first time in 1910 and has a history littered with successes. The club celebrated its hundredth anniversary in 2008.

4. Chelsea – UK

The Chelsea Football Club was formed in 1905 and was honored to be able to officially play its first game in the Football League. Giving Liverpool and Manchester United a run for their money, Chelsea won back-to-back championships in 2005 and 2006 – something done by very few teams.

3. Real Madrid – Spain

Real Madrid sprang into existence back in the year 1900 and was immediately established as one of the most talented football clubs in Spain. The team has done nothing but grow, and over the past 8 years they have attracted top players (including Beckham and Ronaldo), won their ninth European Cup, third Intercontinental Cup, and first European Super Cup.

2. Barcelona – Spain

Hans Gamper founded the Futbol Club Barcelona (aka Barca) back in November of 1899 and the club has continued to grow ever since. Just like every other team in history, Barca has experience both periods of success and failure. The club has earned 18 Spanish League titles and is also the proud owner of two European Cups, won in 1992 and 2006.

In the last 8 years the club has signed a number of incredible players, including Fabien Barthez and Rio Ferdinand – both of whom played major roles in the club’s wins in the early part of this century.

The 10 best stand-up comedians of all-time

Comedy is a tough business to become a part of. You either start writing it, hit the stage to perform it, or you do both. Stand-up is the cruelest of all the forms that comedy manifests itself. Being a stand-up comedian can be very difficult, as it takes just the right mixture of writing, timing and delivery. Add a live audience that sometimes wants nothing more than to make your life miserable and you can see why being a stand-up comedian is no laughing matter. Unless, of course, you‘re as exceptionally gifted with a microphone in your hand as these ten people are.

10 Denis Leary
He was easily the angriest man in the entire world for a few years in the ’80s and ’90s. While he still may be angry, his recent TV performances can’t hold a candle to his old stand-up. He was so bitter and angry during his routines that it seemed like he was going to jump off stage and punch you in the face. You know how many people have fallen asleep during Leary routines? None, OK. That’s right. ZERO! The man screams like a banshee and smokes like a chimney, OK? Stand-ups were never more acerbic and they rarely got louder than Leary. His album Lock ‘N Load (released in ’97) was a comedy tour de force. Leary spit jokes out with such vitriol that it looked and sounded like the was going to have a brain aneurysm on stage. He basically went all-in during every performance, and that’s what made him so awesome. That and the Asshole Song.

9 Louis C.K.
There probably isn’t a more honest comedian on the today’s stand-up circuit. He doesn’t stand there and pretend like he enjoys kids– he tells you that he thinks they’re dumb creatures and he fully despises them. He lives to go out and screw with people and that’s why people love him. He’s the guy that does and says what most of us wish we had the balls to on a daily basis. He rants on why everything about why being white is great, why the banking system is flawed, and why it’s just ridiculous to hate gay people. The guy is just naturally bitter and that manifests itself into his half-awkward, half-threatening presence on stage. He just seems like the guy that would take extreme pleasure in saying, “I told you that was going to happen…” Everything is amazing, and nobody’s happy. Truer words have never been spoken.

8 Rodney Dangerfield
Dangerfield was a late bloomer when it came to comedy. He didn’t get any respect until he got his break when he was almost 50. His jokes were corny, his suits could be atrocious, but his delivery was perfect. And his stage persona and arsenal of one-liners opened the door for a fairly lucrative film career. But every character he played on screen was Rodney Dangerfield. Same timing, same delivery, and the same results. His act worked everywhere and proved that a little self-mockery and pristine delivery can save even the hokiest of jokes. “I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don’t tell ‘em you’re Jewish, okay?”

7 Robin Williams
There are people who use cocaine recreationally and there are people who make a living off of being on cocaine. Robin Williams falls into the latter grouping of people. Watching Williams on stage back in his early days was like watching the missing link tell every joke that popped into his head, as he paced around the stage in a sweat-fueled frenzy. The energy he had (manufactured in a lab) was off the charts. He was a mile a minute comedian who just spit out thoughts and never looked back. Insane energy coupled with insane talent has turned the once fervent stand-up into a still fervent comedic icon.

6 Steve Martin
The renaissance man of comedy was once known for his silliness and irreverent stand-up shows. Martin has a unique timing and quirkiness that meshes well with whatever you would categorize his stage act as. He can make you laugh with magic, he can sing you a song he wrote on the banjo, or he can just stand and tell jokes. His shtick is to be silly and so that’s what he goes out and does. Big picture thinker that gets big picture laughs. And he always has that one final joke in the routine that brings the house down.

5 Lenny Bruce
He was the stand-up who took comedy to another level. He didn’t just touch on controversial subjects — he was controversy. And from that controversy came some very raw and real emotions, that at the time, America really wasn’t ready to deal with quite yet. He was well-known for his stand-up, but during his prime, he was also known for simply pushing the limits to see what he could get away with. A bit about sex got him arrested and brought up on obscenity charges in 1961 and the same happened again a few years later. This guy was so adamant about people hearing his routine, that he was ready to go to jail for his art. Because of that kind of determination, he tore down the great wall of comedy and in doing so, and led future generations into the promised land: A place where comedians don’t have to worry about offending the masses… A freedom that Lenny Bruce was unable to enjoy during a somewhat brief and tumultuous career.

4 Eddie Murphy
It’s too bad that the current generation only knows Eddie Murphy as that doctor guy who can talk to animals or as Norbit. Back in the day, Eddie Murphy was the funniest motherf**ker on the planet and it wasn’t even a close race. Murphy killed on SNL, he killed in films and he still found time to kill on stage in movies like Delirious. Not even the red leather Michael Jackson and Prince go shopping-looking outfit can ruin that performance. Eddie was skilled at impersonations and always worked them into his routine. I mean, watch him do stand-up and you realize that Eddie didn’t need time in the comedy minors. He was talented, hilarious and ready for the spotlight at the age of 18. And he took it and ran with it until he lost his comedy roots and started doing any movie with a spaceship and a giant check. These days he’s more Bill Cosby than Richard Pryor… sorry, I just died a little inside after typing that.

3 George Carlin
There are dark comedians and then in a league all by himself is George Carlin. He looked like a hippie nobody, but he spoke like the scholarly prophet of a doomed future. Carlin was brilliant at picking up on the little things in our lives and how those supposed “little things” would end up coming back to destroy civilization. Wars were killing people for no good reason. Religion was decaying society. Death was always right around the corner. He was an eternal pessimist, but that seemed to stem from some deeper understanding of the darker side of humanity he seemed to posses. He was like that weird psychology teacher that you had in college, who was always hilarious, but you just knew he was going to snap under the strain of society one day. And on that day you knew you’d probably hear all seven of the dirty words and a few gunshots. Let’s hope it’s peaceful wherever he ended up. He deserved some downtime.

2 Richard Pryor
Lenny Bruce may have set the stage, but nobody brought it quite as raw as Richard Pryor did. Pryor basically fed off hotbed issues like race relations and personal demons. Nothing was off-limits to Richard, which meant he always got huge laughs on stage, but often at the cost of his personal life. Jailed for tax evasion, he nearly burned his face off freebasing cocaine, and even when he helped pen the classic picture Blazing Saddles, he was removed from casting consideration because of concerns over being able to insure him. He was also married seven different times. Yeah, the guy had some pretty f’ed up stories and had no problem telling them in public. He was probably one of the best pure story tellers to ever set foot on a stage. In spite of (or fueled by) all his shortcomings, Richard Pryor will go down as one of the greatest comedy minds of all-time.

1 Bill Hicks
The man in black was the most profound and ingenious comedian that the world has ever seen. Hicks was a vicious satirist that attacked his audience for being tied down by senseless consumerism and pointless rules. He wanted to break free of the strains of financial conditioning and evolve into a a society based on love and compassion. Illegal drugs were to be fully experienced in order to gain a greater understanding for your mind and the endless possibilities around you. Music was supposed to be about your heart and not about your bank account. Religion was corporate and corporations were keeping society from reaching maximum potential. Hicks challenged his audience through relentless white hate and ended up collapsing under the weight of the world’s ignorance and stupidity. He was trying to save us from ourselves… and from the looks of it, he was the one who got the last laugh.

Top 10: Funny Comedy Movies of 2010

2010 has been a relatively funny year thus far, with quite a few comedies making their mark on the box office. Though some of the year’s funnier titles are admittedly coming out later in the summer, here are the ten funniest movies to be released thus far:

1. Get Him to the Greek

With Jonah Hill and Russell Brand leading the way, Get Him to the Greek succeeds on multiple levels. Directed by the same man who brought you Forgetting Sarah Marshall, this Nicholas Stoller film provides funny performances with a plot that works. It runs on the dry humor of Hill, with plenty of one liners to keep movie quoters afloat for the duration of the summer.

2. MacGruber

The big problem with most comedy films is that they rehash the same tired characters over and over. This film featured Will Forte, Ryan Phillipe and a great performance from Val Kilmer, adding something different in a tried and true comedy world. Though only slapstick humor, MacGruber was funny enough to satisfy audiences.

3. Death at a Funeral

Sometimes a movie’s deficiencies must be overcome by a great cast of actors. Martin Lawrence and Chris Rock qualify and their performance in this movie is what makes it great. The dialogue between Lawrence and Rock is classic, as they become the primary draw in this one.

4. Date Night

Any time Steve Carell is involved, expectations are going to be high. In Date Night, he and Tina Fey played the lead, and produced a moderately funny comedy. Carell himself was able to carry the action, as the plot left something to be desired. Performances from Ray Liotta and Mila Kunis were highly underrated and helped to round out the sophisticated comedy cast.

5. Greenberg

This Ben Stiller flick is a bit more nuanced, as it doesn’t bring the “in your face” comedy style for which he has become famous. Still, he is electric in his role as a down and out New Yorker, and the plot is funny despite hitting home for many viewers in today’s economy.

6. Cop Out

An early February release, Cop Out benefited at the box office from a lack of comedy alternatives. With former SNL funny man Tracey Morgan teaming up with Bruce Willis, there are some moments where the actors’ tension produces the humor. With an uncharacteristically funny performance from Sean William Scott to top things off, Cop Out was as funny as an overdone police movie could be.

7. Our Family Wedding

This film touched on many sensitive themes, including interracial marriages and cultural strife. Still, Forrest Whitaker delivers in his customary way, and Carlos Mencia is there to provide humor on the side. Anyone who has been through a wedding can enjoy the mishaps and hilarity that ensue when the pressure is so high.

8. Diary of a Wimpy Kid

This is a somewhat different comedy attempt, as it is an adaptation from an illustrated work. The work includes some real life adventures that just about anyone can relate to, which makes it especially funny at parts. Zachary Gordon also provides something of a come-out performance.

9. Hot Tub Time Machine

In typical fashion, many of the funniest parts of this movie were shown in the trailer. It was still good enough to produce laughs for a couple of hours, though. The idea behind the movie is somewhat cheesy, but the situations and performances are good enough. A guest appearance by Chevy Chase is what puts this movie over the top.

10. I Love you, Phillip Morris

Jim Carey’s latest film can be called many things, with funny and weird among those things. A racy film about a gay love affair and a con scheme, this one was not as popular at the box office as it should have been. Not surprisingly, it is Carey’s performance that powers this film.

10. Sam Langford

Langford stood only 5 ft 6½ in and weighed 185 lb in his prime. Though not even considered medium sized by today’s heavyweight standards Langford retired with a 214-46-44 record. Heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey said “The hell I feared no man. There was one man I wouldn’t fight because I knew he would flatten me. I was afraid of Sam Langford.”

9. Jack Dempsey

Speaking of Jack Dempsey, this 6′ 1″ heavyweight was known for his punching power and tenacity. Not many were as tough as Dempsy. His final record was 66-6-11, for this day and age that’s a fairly long record. After a controversial loss to Gene Tunney, Dempsey retired from boxing, but the name Jack Dempsey is still very much associated with boxing some 80 years later.

8. Jack Johnson

No, not the performer. This Jack Johnson was known as the “Galveston Giant.” Having won the heavyweight title in 1908 beating Tommy Burns, the world was so shaken by such a dominant black boxer Jack London called out for a strong challenger, thus coining the phrase “The Great White Hope.” That hope appeared as the undefeated James J. Jefferies who came out of retirement in 1910 to fight Johnson. The result was a Johnson victory and race riots across the country.

7. Benny Leonard

Known as the “Jewish Wizard” this boxer went a total fights of 217 with 183 wins (70 by KO) 19 losses and 11 draws. Leonard was a dominate lightweight known for speed and power. Shortly after coming back out of retirement his career ended on October 7, 1932 when he was TKOed in 6 rounds by future champion Jimmy McLarnin.

6. Roberto Duran

The unorthodox stanced Panama born Duran retired with a record of 103 Wins, 16 Loss, 69 Knockouts in 2002 at the age of 50. Yes, that’s a five with a zero behind it. Duran was a serious ring mixer who only knew how to punch three ways: hard, fast and often. As a welterweight he beat the incomparable Sugar Ray Leonard before becoming a dominant middleweight.

5. Willie Pep

Having once actually won a round without throwing a punch, Willie Pep was beyond the exemplification of grace and fluidity. In that moment, that 180 seconds, he was the greatest boxer of all time. His record came out to 229 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw, with 65 wins by knockout.

4. Joe Louis

“The Brown Bomber” is probably one of the most recognizable names on this list, Joe Louis was an everyman to a lot of boxing fans. This 6′ 2″ heavyweight boxing legend was known as a hard worker inside and outside the ring. Finishing out his careers at 65 Wins (51 knockouts, 13 decisions, 1 disqualification), 3 Losses (2 knockouts, 1 decision) Louis lost his last fight in 1951 to Rocky Marciano, but not before he had defeated the likes of Max Schmeling and Max Baer.

3. Henry Armstrong

Armstrong has the distinction of being the only boxer to hold three world championships at the same time. He also defended the Welterweight championship more times than any other fighter. With a career record of 181 Fights – 151 Wins, 101 KOs, 21 Losses, 9 Draws Hurricane Henry still remains of of the most famous boxers in boxing history.

2. Muhammad Ali

Ali was impressive as both a boxer and a promoter… of himself. Despite how anyone might feel about him on a personal level, Ali did 2 things; kept the world interested and fought in some of the most interesting fights in boxing history. To be honest his record of 56 Wins (37 knockouts, 19 decisions), 5 Losses (4 decisions, 1 retirement), 0 Draws doesn’t seem too impressive until you look at who he fought; Ken Norton (2x), Sonny Liston (2x), George Foreman, Leon Spinks and Joe Frazier. His class was a tough one.

1. Sugar Ray Robinson

The original Sugar Ray saw 200 fights in his career and inspired the next two or three generations of boxers after him. Robinson retired from boxing with a record of 175-19-6 with 110 knockouts in 200 professional bouts, ranking him among the all-time leaders in knockouts.

When people think of the Oscars, they think of the best in the film industry. The best actors, the best movies, the best songs. It has long been the gold standard of achievement, and for 81 years, the Oscars have awarded this top prize to some of the most recognizable Hollywood icons of all time. Still, throughout the history of the Academy Awards, some of the greatest actors have gone without recognition. Here is a list of the ten best actors who were never awarded an Oscar.
Editor’s note: This list does not take into account the 2010 Oscar Awards for which Jeff Bridges finally won an Oscar.

10. Peter O’Toole

Now O’Toole did win an honorary Oscar in 2003 once the Academy realized that they have long shunned this magnificent actor, who has been waiting for his statuette since his first nomination for his role in Laurence of Arabia 47 years ago. O’Toole has been nominated 7 times since then, and helped to coin the phrase, “It’s a pleasure just to be nominated,” although you can hear the bitterness in his voice when he says it. Despite the constant and consistent snubbing by the Academy, O’Toole is no stranger to award wins. His performance in Laurence of Arabia was later recognized as the greatest performance of all time in Premiere Magazine.

Bogart, Stewart, and Grant. These three icons epitomize classic film, but Grant never earned the accolades that were bestowed upon Bogart and Stewart. He was nominated twice for an Oscar, and sits on almost all top ten actors of all time lists, but he never wrapped his hands around his own gold statue until an honorary award was bestowed on him at the 1970 Academy Awards. Grant, who was a regular in the films of Alfred Hitchcock, another Oscarless icon, starred in classic films like North by Northwest, and To Catch a Thief.

8. Leonardo Dicaprio

Dicaprio has never been in a role that didn’t deserve an Oscar nod. Yes, that is a little exaggerated, but Leo is known for taking on the difficult roles. From his first nomination in 1993 for his role as Arnie, in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Dicaprio has continually pushed his creative limits, taking on roles such as a drug addled high schooler, a runaway conman, a modern Romeo, and a vengeful New Yorker. He earned two more Oscar nods for his role in Blood Diamond and The Aviator. Still under the age of 40, Dicaprio has a long time before he has to succumb to the lifetime achievement award.

7. James Dean

There is no doubt that if James Dean would have lived longer he would have nabbed at least one Oscar award. During his short lived movie career, Dean left a lasting impression on the cinema world. He was the first actor to ever be nominated for an award after his death, for his role in East of Eden, and is still the only actor to have earned a second posthumous award, for his work in Giant. And even though the Academy has developed a soft spot for the deceased, Dean is a rebel without an award.

6. Jeff Bridges Jeff finally won, Congratulations!

Let’s face it, the dude can act. Since 1971 when Bridges lost his first nomination to co-star Ben Johnson in The Last Picture Show, Bridges has been nominated three additional times. His role in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot was defeated in 1974 by Robert De Niro’s portrayal of the Godfather. He lost again in 1984 and 2000. Bridges has been a major player for the past four decades, and it is about time he got his due. Rockwell’s latest movie, Moon, which is basically a one man film, has sparked petitions to get this worthy actor a nomination.

3. Edward Norton

Norton hadn’t done much acting work before he received his first nomination. Primal Fear, in 1996, was Norton’s first major role and it led to his first major nomination. Although he hasn’t been nominated since, Norton is still in the beginning stages of his career, with barely a decade under his belt, despite his established body of work.

Final Fantasy XIII

This long developed game finally comes to America in spring 2010, on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Some of FF XIII's new characters have already been unveiled: a young female warrior named Lightning; Snow Villiers, a fiery guy who wears a bandanna over his head, who is also the leader of NORA, a resistance group going up against the government of Cocoon; and Sazh Katzroy, a cheery laid back guy who wields a pair of pistols, also a member of NORA. This will be the first major Final Fantasy game for the next gen consoles, so the amazing cinemas and visuals in the game should be an entirely new experience with HD to top it all.

Final Fantasy XIV

It's major news when Square Enix is launching Final Fantasy XIV the same year that Final Fantasy XIII will be released. What's also a surprise is that FF XIV will be an MMORPG, just like Final Fantasy XI. Since Square Enix already has several years of MMORPG experience under the belt by working on Final Fantasy XI (one of the few successful MMORPGs), there should be less concerns and hopefully this ambitious project will be a far superior online game. So far it looks like some of the same races from FF XI, the humans and Galkas, make a return as it was shown in the FF XIV trailer. Final Fantasy XIV will be available on the PC and as a console exclusive on the PS 3.

Tony Hawk: Ride

For the first time ever, a wireless skateboard peripheral will be packaged in a Tony Hawk game, called Tony Hawk: Ride, for the Wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. So for those folks who hate standard controllers that forces them to press button combos in skateboarding games, standing on a physical skateboard-like device in Tony Hawk: Ride might be just for you. The device is meant to capture your movements on screen; the accelerometer and four infra-red cameras in the skateboard peripheral will help you move right and left, and perform moves like ollies and kick-flips, so hopefully you feel like you're actually skateboarding.

ModNation Racers

ModNation Racers is both Mario Kart and Little Big Planet, a combination of kart racing and user generated content. Coming to the Playstation Network, ModNation Racers is part of Sony's “Play. Create. Share” genre, where players can create and customize content in video games and then share them with others online.
The game allows you to customize your racers, who look like cute Munny figurines, as you can change their faces and skin color, as well as dress them up with new hairstyles, outfits, and other wacky accessories. This will be not a classic kart racing game, as you can even customize your cars and race tracks and share it online with other players; the racetracks customization should be just as deep as what you can do with the avatars.
The racetracks can be created from the ground up: choose which direction the roads should go, surround them with mountains, forests, lakes, and houses if you want; adjust the landscape to determine how high and low the roads should be; you can even decide where the sun should shine its brightest at. LBP was the first of this new genre and ModNation Racers is the next follow up to Sony's goal of bringing the best lineup of user generated content games.

The Last Guardian

Shadow of the Colossus fans will be glad to hear that The Last Guardian is the final game to complete the Ico trilogy. Headed by game developer Fumito Ueda and his studio, Team ICO, The Last Guardian will be expected to have the same intimate storytelling and relationships the studio's previous games have been known for. What we do know now is that The Last Guardian definitely continues the classic visual style, serene-like atmosphere, and orchestra music that has been a staple of the series. A young boy and his friend, a giant creature that is half beast and half bird, will be the two main characters in the game. The Last Guardian is available only on the Playstation 3.

Brink

Coming to the Xbox 360, PC, and Playstation 3 is Brink, an open-ended FPS that takes place in Ark, a floating city that has survived the devastation of global warming. A city divided into hundreds of islands, Ark is under the threat of civil war from two opposing factions disrupting it with their own personal ambitions. Published by Bethesda and developed by Splash Damage, Brink will feature single player, co-op, and multiplayer modes, with an emphasis on character development, missions, and choices, so expect a heavy dose of rpg elements to go along with the shooting. The game will also feature new technology like the “Smart Button”, that will help you make choices depending on the current situation.

Halo: Reach

A prequel to the original Halo game, Halo: Reach is being developed by Bungie, the same studio responsible for the Halo trilogy. Reach is the planet where all the Spartans were trained, so the place should be the main focus of the new game. Microsoft is now teasing customers to buy Halo 3: ODST, since every owner of the game will receive a key that gives them access to the upcoming Halo: Reach multiplayer beta on Xbox Live. Rumors that Bungie would be skipping out on the Halo franchise after leaving Microsoft can be officially squashed.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Nintendo fans hungry for another Mario 3D platformer can rest easy- he's back in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the Nintendo Wii. The gameplay in Super Mario Galaxy 2 should instantly reminds players of the original Super Mario Galaxy, as many of the same elements- gravity, miniature planets, star collecting, crazy platforms, and power ups-make a return to this sequel. Some new changes include the ability to ride Yoshi, as he can swallow enemies by flicking his tongue out and bringing them back into his mouth. Some of the original planets also make a return, but Nintendo promises that more than 90 percent of the game will have entirely new levels to play in.

Metroid Other M

Nintendo is taking Metroid Other M to a different playing field now that they are handing the game over to development studio, Team Ninja, known for their Ninja Gaiden series. If you know Team Ninja games, you can expect a more visceral, up front, and maturer 3D Metroid game this time around than previous ones. The visual style and combat features Team Ninja will bring for Metroid Other M should definitely be very different compared to what Retro Studios did with the Metroid Prime trilogy. Oh yeah, and this time, Samus actually speaks. The game will be available on the Nintendo Wii.

Conclusion

From these games, the 2010 video games industry looks to be very promising. The first standout from the list should be Nintendo, since their fans have been clamoring for more titles from their classic franchises. Now with Metroid Other M in the hands of Team Ninja, a studio know for providing plenty of action in their games, it will be exciting to see what moves and weapons they will have for Samus.
Halo fans will be spoiled with a double dose of Halo 3: ODST arriving in Fall 2009, and then the Bungie-developed Halo: Reach, coming in Fall 2010. Anytime a Halo game comes out, it's big news, and Microsoft wins. They win money, fans, and the media. That's how big the Halo franchise is.
With Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid Rising also coming to the Xbox 360 besides the Playstation 3, it doesn't mean Sony is short on exclusives. In fact, they have suprised many with two new exclusives, in Final Fantasy XIV and ModNation Racers. These two games should have significant implications, that FF XIV might become the first successful MMORPG on a console; with ModNation Racers, hopefully the game can follow in Little Big Planet's shoes and continue to convince gamers that if they want the best games with user generated content, then they can turn to the PS 3.

The lights have gone out in South Africa and the trophy has gone back to Spain for the next four years. So while we all relive all the excitement that the world’s largest sporting event has to offer, we reflect on the players who made the World Cup the dramatic clash of nations it always is.

10. Arjen Robben – The Netherlands

Arjen Robben is arguably one of the greatest Dutch players of all time. Despite missing the first two games of the World Cup due to a hamstring injury, he came back and helped his team surpass teams like Brazil and Uruguay to get into the final against Spain. Robben is a reliable presence on the pitch who’s pace and dribbling has made him one of the best wingers in the world. But he is not without controversy, he is often criticized for going to ground too easily and too often. During the World Cup he scored two goals and had one assist and because he was a real difference maker for the Netherlands, Robben was nominated for the Golden Ball award.

Arjen Robben began his football career at his home club, Groningen. But it wasn’t long before he caught the eye of some of the top clubs in the world. He has played for PSV, Chelsea, Real Madrid and currently plays for Bayern Munich.

9. Maicon – Brazil

After Cafu’s retirement, Brazil fans were skeptical if anyone could fill his shoes, but that is exactly what Maicon has been able to do, and today he is considered one of the best right backs in the world. Maicon encompasses speed, great touches, accurate crosses and on top of all that he scores the occasional goal. During the match against Korea DPR in the group stage he showed off his shooting ability, scoring from an almost impossible angle for what was one of the best goals of the tournament. The goal has been debated by football fans around the world as no one really knows if it was supposed to be a cross or if he actually meant to score.

Maicon made his debut to professional for Cruzeiro in 2001 and during his two seasons with the club they won the championship. In 2004 he was lured across the Atlantic to play for Monaco. Two years later he made a move to Internazionale where he and his teammates have won the last four Serie A titles as well as the 2010 UEFA Champions League.

8. Mesut Ozil – Germany

Over the course of the World Cup, Mesut Ozil has risen from relative obscurity to someone who is being called the German Iniesta. He’s the kind of player that comes along once in a blue moon, a play maker whose vision, passing and inventiveness makes a huge impact on any game he plays in. At only 21, Ozil has become the one to watch and has even been called “a gift for German football” by Joachim Low. Usually wreaking havoc as a midfielder, he can also play as a left winger or even as a striker if the need arises. Ozil marked his first World cup with one goal, but his play making ability really stood out as he made three assists.

Ozil’s youth career was spent at several different clubs including Westfalia 04 Gelsenkirchen, Teutonia Shalke-Nord, Falke Gelsenkirchen and Rot-Weiss Essen before he made a move to Shalke 04. It was for Shalke that he made his senior league debut in 2006. He currently plays for Werder Bremen after moving there in 2008.

7. Andres Iniesta – Spain

A creative player that is capable of playing anywhere in the midfield, Iniesta has been called the best player in the world by the likes of Wayne Rooney. He is most effective when he plays right in behind the strikers where his handling of the ball and his ability to race into threatening positions causes serious problems for opposing defenders. During the World Cup final, Iniesta became a Spanish hero when in the 116^th minute he scored the winning goal against the Netherlands. He was named the Man of the Match for the final, as well as being included in the FIFA World Cup All Star Team.

A talented graduate of the Barcelona youth school, Iniesta made his senior level debut on October 29, 2002 and he’s been with the club ever since. He has helped Barcelona to four Spanish League trophies, one Spanish Cup, three Spanish Supercups, two Champions League crowns a UEFA Supercup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

6. Xavi – Spain

One of the greatest playmates in the world, Xavi is the center of which the rest of the Spanish team rotates. But probably his most impressive attribute as a footballer is his creative genius. Because of this he is one of the few players in football history who has won every major tournament open to him. During this World Cup, Xavi covered more ground and made more passes than any other player, making him an irreplaceable force in the Spanish machine.

A product of the Barcelona youth system, Xavi moved up to the senior team in 1998 and has been there ever since. During his time there Barcelona has won five La Liga titles, one Spanish Cup, three Spanish Supercups, two Champions Leagues and the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup. Xavi himself has won a plethora of awards including being included in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Al Star Team.

5. Wesley Sneijder – The Netherlands

At only 25, Wesley Sneijder has established himself as a powerful presence in the Dutch side. He is known the world over as a play maker who’s passing ability is among the best and who is comfortable playing both a fast and slow game as needed. But he can also score goals as he has shown at this year’s World Cup, tying as one of the top goal scorers with five. Even while those around him were not living up to their potential, Sneijder remained as brilliant as ever and carried the Netherlands all the way to the final. In the end the Spanish defence was just too much for the Dutchman to handle. Part of his greatness comes from his family, his father was a player and both his brothers play at a professional level, one at Stormvogels Telstar and the other at the Ajax youth academy.
Where else does he play?
A product of AFC Ajax’s famous youth academy, he moved up to the senior team when he was only seventeen, following in his older brother’s footsteps. In 2007 he caught the eye of Real Madrid who signed him to a €27 million contract making him the most expensive Dutch player in the world. From there he made a move to Internazionale in 2009 and earlier this year he helped his team win the 2010 Champions League Final.

4. David Villa – Spain

Comfortable with either foot, David Villa has unleashed his goal scoring prowess at this World Cup, much like he usually does in Spanish colors. He has proved himself in international competition as an important member of a strong Spanish side at not only the 2006 World Cup but also at Euro 2008 (where he won the Golden Boot) and the 2009 Confederations Cup. And this World Cup was no different as he was tied as the top goal scorer of the tournament with five goals in all. Villa is type of player most coaches dream of, a hard-working forward that is capable of opening up the opposing defence and scoring goals. It is because of this that he is one of the top scorers in the history of Spanish football, second only to Raul.
Where else does he play?
David Villa began his football career at Sporting de Gijon in 2001 and then moved up to the top flight Spanish football with Real Zaragoza in 2003. From there he was transferred to Valencia, where he has played for the last five seasons. In May of this year Villa signed a four-year contract with Barcelona.

3. Iker Casillas – Spain

One of the best goalkeepers in the world, Iker Casillas captained La Roja to their first ever World Cup title. His reflexes, speed, agility and the ability to shut down one on one threats has earned him the nickname Saint Iker by both club and national fans. But he is not without his critics, many of whom believed that after the defeat against Switzerland, he should not be Spain’s first choice. With his legendary composure he silenced them, winning the next six games (including the final), five of which were clean sheets. A crucial member of the Spanish side, he no doubt made the decision of who should get the Golden Glove very easy.

Iker Casillas has been with Real Madrid since the beginnings of his youth career, but when you play for ne of the best teams in the world there’s not much of an incentive to leave. With the club he has won four La Liga titles, two Champions Leagues, a UEFA Supercup and an Intercontinental Cup.

2. Thomas Mueller – Germany

At only 20 years old, Thomas Mueller has used this World Cup to make the football world stand up and take notice. His versatility to play both as an attacking midfielder as well as a winger adds to his speed, vision and technical ability to make him an all-around stand out player. During the World Cup he was a surprise addition to Joachim Low’s side but he quickly made his mark by scoring Germany’s first goal of the tournament. But he didn’t stop there, he scored another four goals and made three assists, earning him the Golden Boot ahead of superstars like Villa, Sneijder and Forlan as well as the Best young Player award/
Where else does he play?
Mueller began as a youth at TSV Pahl an 1993. From there he moved into the Bayern Munich youth team in 2000 and has effectively moved up the Bayern ranks, making his senior team debut in August 2008.

1. Diego Forlan – Uruguay

While is not the captain, Diego Forlan has led Uruguay not only to the World Cup but all the way to the semi finals. A powerful presence up front, Forlan has the ability to both score and feed the ball to his teammates, predominantly his striking partner, Luis Suarez. “Cachavacha” as he has been nicknamed (because of a striking similarity to a comic book character of the same name), marked his second World Cup tournament with five goals, one of which was a penalty in the shootout against Ghana to get Uruguay into the semifinal. In the end he was given the recognition he deserved when FIFA awarded him with the Golden Ball. However, Diego isn’t the only Forlan to represent Uruguay at the World Cup, his father, Pablo, played in both the 1966 and 1974 World Cups. Despite this Diego grew up playing tennis and it was only after a family tragedy that he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Where else does he play?
Forlan currently plays for Athletico Madrid after being transferred there in June 2007. He has also played at Independiente, Manchester United and Villarreal, and has won two European Golden Boot awards, once for Villarreal in 2004-05 and also for Athletico Madrid in 2008-09.
