Australian brand "Coast to Coast" is having 1-for-1 promotion at their vivo city store now. My friend and I bought one box of mask and one coastal soothing eye cream at only half the price, very good deal.

Uniqlo-Cath Kidston Charity Project Floral Printed T-Shirts, 2011

Uniqlo has just lauched a new retail store at Vivo city, Singapore today (29 April). I happened to be there during lunch time, there is an opening promotion on going until 19th May.

I was so excited to see Uniqlo collaborates with Cath Kidston this time because I didn't know about it before I went down to the store. This new store is very big in size, the whole store is decorated in white color, feels very bright and clean. All products are well organized.

It was so crowed during lunch time, the store opened at 10am today and some of the small size T-shirts were already out of stock. Cath Kidston collection is so popular that everyone was squeezing in front of the shelf and looking for their right sizes. I saw most people grabbed at least 2 T-shirts in hand just in case they can't find them later.

Here are what I got from the whole Cath Kidson collection, it was really difficult for me to decide which one to give up, because initially I took 7 pieces into the fitting room (although only 4 pieces are allowed for each person).

This round collar cute dotted T-shirt is from collection 1. The quality is very good, the cotton is so smooth and soft, feels very comfortable.

Cath Kidson label is stitched at the bottom of the T-shirt:

The second one is also from collection 1, but V-shape collar design. All of these three T-shirts are S size, but the cutting of this one is much bigger than the round collar T-shirt.

The third one is from collection 2, it's also a round collar design. This S size is slightly smaller than the first one.

Details of the print, I love this unique cowboy patterns.

Here is the free gift with purchase of at least 2 T-shirts from the Cath Kisdton collection. It's random picked, I'm lucky to get the floral print I like. This paper fan is well made, and the Cath Kidson logo is printed on the top of the handle.

All about Serum: Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Serum / Eminence Couperose-C / Trilogy CoQ10 Booster Serum

Hi everyone!
Serum is the must-have procedure in my skin care routine, I can't live without it.
Today, I'm going to review 3 serum products, which I have been using for the last 3, 4 month. They are Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Serum, Eminence Couperose-C High Potency Natural Antioxidant Serum and Trilogy CoQ10 Booster Serum. I have already finished the first two and just stopped using the third one.

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Serum

Purpose:
Face lifting, in order to achieve V-shape face contour.

Bottle Design:
Pump bottle, very good hygienic design, but I find the pump itself isn't very good, there was always cream residue around the metal part, created a bit mess after few pumps.

Texture:
White color creamy texture, but it feels very light on the face.

Ingredients:

I once accidentally dropped the bottle on the floor, the bottom piece came out, then I realized I can see how much serum left inside the bottle. I prefer this kind of pump bottle design, we can use up the product without left over some serum at the bottom of the bottle.

Pros: Light texture. And it moisturizes my skin very well even without any moisturizer after it. My skin feels very comfortable, it's not sticky at all.

No breakout.

Cons: I don't really see the lifting effect, of course I didn't expect my face can change to V-shape right after using it.

Purchase again? Probably not. Although the moisturizing effect is very good, I can definitely find similar products without paying so much.

Eminence Couperose-C High Potency Natural Antioxidant Serum

Eminence is an organic brand founded in Hungary. I like this brand because they use a lot of fresh fruits ingredients, and their products contain no parabens, sodium lauroyl sulfates, or synthetic fragrances.

Purpose:

Eminence Couperose-C Serum is a multipurpose treatment designed to heal inflammation, broken capillaries, irritation, water loss, and loss of skin definition. With ingredients such as Ester-C, Rosehip, and Lavender, skin tone and texture will be visibly even, smooth, and tight.

Ingredients:

Bottle Design:
Dark brown glass bottle with glass suction tube.

Texture:

Yellow color water-based gel, it can be absorbed very fast. Sometimes I have to apply the second time, because it was totally absorbed before I massaged it to my whole face. So I used up this 30ml serum very fast, about one month I think.

Pros: Light texture. Nice plants and fruits scent.

I can see the rosehip and lavender do help calm down my skin, reduced irritation and inflammation.
No breakout.

Cons: Used up too quickly.

Purchase again? Yes

Trilogy CoQ10 Booster Serum

Purpose:

This is a intensive antioxidant boost especially designed for dull, tired and stressed skin. The key ingredient Co-enzyme Q10 helps to produce collagen which aids skin repair and reduces the signs of premature ageing.

Ingredients:

Bottle Design:
Dark brown glass bottle with glass suction tube.

Texture:

Yellow color 100% essential oil.

Pros: It brighten up my skin during the first few applications, it was really amazing to see my face was so bright when I woke up in the morning. My friends who has dry or normal skin love this serum very much, but later I found this is not my cup of tea.

Cons: It clogged my pores (I have combination skin with oily T-zone), although the brightening effect is so obvious, but I have to give it up.

Purchase again? No

That's all for my reviews on these three serum products, after finishing two of them and stopped using the last one, I'm now moving onto whitening serum, more posts are coming up.......

Nars Kuala Lumpur is Spring collection of Nars, 2010. It's rose gold and wild berry mix. I got this palette more than half year ago, yet it's the first time that I did an EOTD. I did swatches for this DUO and compare to other similar Nars and Lunasol eyeshadow palettes (here).

Paul & Joe 15th Anniversary Special Issue has arrived at Singapore last week. I got this copy from Kinokuniya at SGD31.5, you can get 10% off discount if you are Kinoluniya card member. I love all the Paul & Joe products and I've been waiting for this mook for couple of weeks. I was so happy when I passed by the store and saw they are finally available here.

The quality is much better than I expected, I was a bit disappointed with Jill Stuart makeup pouch in the mook last time. Obviously this bag is well made with much better details. The spring flora print is so pretty.

The size is H32cm x W47cm x D13cm, above picture shows how big it is compare to an A4 size magazine.

Inside is lovely pink color with a small pocket.

My cute "monster" is carrying the bag, how's the look? :D

Sunscreen Products I Like & Dislike

We are so sorry that we have been mia for quite a long time, both of us were really busy at work and study recently. Now I'm back with a review of some sunscreen products I have been using lately.

As you all know, Singapore is hot and humid all year long, sunscreen becomes very important for everyone lives here. If I can only use one skincare product everyday, it will be sunscreen without second thought, because skin damage and skin aging are mainly caused by ultraviolet.

"Many people incorrectly assume dry skin leads to wrinkles and that moisturizers can prevent them. Not true. Research shows 90 percent of wrinkles are caused by the sun's UVA light and sun damage is the #1 cause of premature aging in women and men." (about.com)

My skin condition is combination type, a bit sensitive and acne-prone.
My concern about a "good sunscreen" must be high SPF value, light texture, doesn't cause breakout and no harmful ingredient (like paraben or oxybenzone)

Oil control power is not good enough for me.

The texture looks creamy, surprisingly it's quite light when I applied to my face.

Evenly spread it on back of my hand, tinted effect makes my skin look flawless.

It might be good for people with dry skin type, who wants a super radiant look.

Conclusion:

SHESEIDO ANESSA Perfect Smooth Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++ & ELTAMD UV Physical Tinted Chemical-Free Sunscreen, SPF41 scored highest points (4.7 / 5). Compare these two products, I would prefer the latter. Despite the lower oil control power, safe ingredient (chemical-free) is more important than any other factors.

Hope this review is helpful for you to choose sunscreen products.

EOTD:Coastal Scents 88 Eyeshadow Palette－Christmas Tree

Merry X'mas!!!

It's the first time I'm using Coastal Scents 88 eyeshadow palettes though I've bought them for more than 6 months!! They are great palettes for playing colors, because of the large color spectrum. The most important thing is, they are quite cheap, around S$30 each, for 88 colors. But there is a lot of fallout with the majority of these shades, and blending of those shades is not easy. This is the trade off between quality and price.. :D Applying eyeshadow primers would make things much easier..

The colors I used for this EOTD are mainly the variations of green, from kelly green to dark green.

This look was inspired by Christmas tree - variations of green~~

Hi everyone! The title of this post is pretty long :D Yes, that's all what I'm going to show you in this post.

I got 3 Satin Eye Colors102 106&107, a Lengthening Mascara, 2 Extra Silky Lipsticks 108&121 from Cle De Peau Beaute (CPB) recently. I have to say that I'm really....totally addicted to all CPB products, they are just gorgeous!

Elegant and sophisticated packaging as usual.....love the dark blue color with golden pearl finishing.

Here are 3 Satin Eye Colors 106 107 & 102 (from left to right):

Satin Eye Color 107 (light pinkish gray or grayish violet, I'm not sure how to describe this color ^_^")

Let's look at the swatches on my arm:

The eyeshadow feels very creamy and buttery, you can see how fine the powder is, no large glitters but fine shimmer, just like their name - "satin" eye color.

107 is a perfect color to be used as base color, below EOTD used 106, 107 as well as the lengthening mascara.

Lengthening Mascara:

This mascara could lengthen the lashes but without building up the volume, it separates lashes effectively without clumps at all.

A very simple natural look without eyeliner.

Swatches: Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes #101 Smoky Quartz

Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes #101 Smoky Quartz is a limited edition of this serious (Crystal Eyes), which was previously restricted to Taiwan market only and now it is available in other areas. I happened to get one from Taiwan (NT1300), which is my first eye shadow palette from Jill Stuart. ^ ^

The packaging is as gorgeous as always, which reminders me of my fairytale princess dream when I was a little girl. I love the Jill stuart packaging more than Anna Sui, although their styles are similar.

This quad is mainly a combination of pink and brown, I really love the combination. The highlight color is pinkish white, very pigmented, the liner color is glittery black. The two main colors are light plum pink and brown, maybe mud is more precise.

I've heard some drawbacks regarding the glitter fallout problem, people complains they always end up with glitters all over the face after application. I encountered this problem a bit but it doesn't effect my addiction to JS products, always try to use eyeshadow insurance/primer beforehand or use it wet to minimize the fallout problem.

I've to admit that the palette is really beautiful.....

Crazy Haul from Dior Sale Nov 2010

CD is having their annual warehouse sale at Singapore Great World City West Tower on this Wed and Thur.

My friend Candy reached there early around 11.30am today, because we heard more products will be replenished at 12pm. We queued for another half an hour waiting for their staffs to unload and set the sales items in order.

We were the first batch to go in, the office room is pretty small with much lesser choices than yesterday. We quickly grabbed some skin care products & cosmetics and joined the queue for paying within 10 mins, you can imagine how small the room is and how less the products were available.

This is the second Shiseido sale of this year, the products on sale are quite similar to the previous one which was held on May.

We reached there around 10am and the sale was already started. We queued in the corridor for around 20 minutes till finally could go in one by one. Our target are Cle De Peau Beaute products, but it was quite disappointing that we couldn't find any CDP loose powder or liquid foundation at all.

Swatches - Sisley Sparkling Rhapsody Palette Phyto Star Eyes for Holiday 2010

We were lemming for this Sisley Sparkling Rhapsody Palette for weeks and finally got one from Metro, which costs around 120SGD.

I must admit that I was totally attracted by its metallic "gun metal" case. The packaging is fantastic, when you press the bottom and then the lid flips over. It really looks like a small flip cell phone with a full LCD screen. ^^


Sisley Sparkling Rhapsody Palette contains four shades which are mainly metallic gray-black tones. The right bottom baby blue color brightens up the whole palette, a very unique combination.. The four shimmery and dazzling shades are: white, charcoal, turquoise, and grey. Eyes are illuminated with glitter and shine. Metallic shades of black and grey combine to create a smoky effect. Pearlized turquoise plays with iridescent white to highlight your eyes at the most exclusive parties! The feather-light and sheer texture provides subtle, buildable coverage and blends with skin for a delicate, silky-smooth finish. The coated powders allow a more intense and luminous color, while its micronized pigments enhance their radiance and purity. The combination of mother-of-pearl particles in varying sizes enhances the shimmering, metallic effect. Its ultra-fine talc is silicone-coated for added softness, a silky, creamy texture and perfect adherence. Finally, in keeping with the Sisley skin care philosophy, it combines the moisturizing and emollient benefits of white lily extract.

It comes with a small sponge applicator which can be used for fast touch-up when you are outside without carrying so many makeup tools.

Swatches:

I did a simply swatch on my left hand without a primer, it roughly shows how beautiful and sparkling the colors are, especially the three smoky shades. The turquoise color is not so pigmented, but the mute color tone can balance the smokey eyes and make you look more elegant than wild smokey look.

NARS Limited Edition: The Bento Box Set for Holiday 2010

In November, NARS Cosmetics will be introducing the Bento Box Set, a limited edition set of Kabuki lip color inspired by the traditional Japanese theater of the same name.

The Bento Set is so unique that the new lipsticks are in two Kabuki cups. The Japaneses style lip brush looks very special too, its handle wrapped in Wisteria.

Maiko is a vivid red, Sakura is a bright pink.

The set will be available November 1 for $125 at NARS. You can get on the waiting list for the set now, because only one thousand sets were made for the United States, and just over two thousand were created worldwide.

Recent Haul: EMINENCE Organic Skin Care

Here are my recent haul from SkinCareRX.com. All are from EMINENCE, you may not familiar with this brand, so am I. It is an organic brand from Hungary. I saw some good reviews recently and decided to give it a try.

I got a bottle of Herbal Eye Contour Cream and an Exclusive Rose Collection set.

The herbal eye contour cream is ideal for those with mature, dehydrated, and fatigued skin. It claims that it can help to refine the youthful contours of your eyes to defy the first visible signs of aging. By hydrating, protecting, and firming the skin, your eyes no longer have to give away your age.

Ingredient

The yellowish cream feels very light on my skin. I did not observe any discomfort around my eyes area after using for 2 weeks. The jasmine flower scent smells so nice, it helps to relax every time when I use it. As for the result, I will update again after using it for at least one month time to really see the results.

The packaging of the Exclusive Rose Collection set is very special, the wooden case looks like graduation certificate holder, feels very "organic". : D

This set is ideal for sensitive, rosacea-prone, reactive skin with fine lines, wrinkles, and damaged skin to calm, soothe.

A new member just joined in our Jill Stuart collection today, Blush Blossom 2010 #02 Sweet Mum. Remember I mentioned about 02 Sweet Mum in our previous Jill Stuart Post #03 Lady Amaryllis, but it was sold out in Hong Kong counter. Luckily my friend J managed to get it this time round.

02 Sweet Mum is a combination of shimmery peachy orange and matt soft pink.

Color swatches on my arm:

The new brush is softer than previous 4-color mix blush collection, because loose powder is much easier to be picked up than compact powder.

I prefer 02 Sweet Mum more than 03 Lady Amaryllis because these two colors can be used separately. You can choose either orange or pink blush to match with your eye makeup.

At first, I thought the orange color can be used as bronzing powder, but after swatching I found it is too sparkling to be used to contour the face. I don't want my whole face to be glowing...

EOTD: RMK Translucent Eyes 05 Translucent Grey & By Terry Eyeliner 101 Violet Velvet

I've been addicted to grey eyeshadow recently, and RMK 05 Translucent Grey makes a great addition to my grey eyeshadow collection.

Swatch on arm:

The colors are a soft silvery light gray and a sheer shimmery petal pink.

I used the grey on my lids and blended it upwards with the pink.

I was kind of disappointed with the lack of pigment in the grey shade. The pink isn't much noticeably on the eyes too, but the pink shimmer helps to give more dimension to the eyes when layered over the grey.

An eyeliner could help if the eye makeup looks too flat like this. I'm using By Terry Crayon Blackstar 101 Violet Velvet.

One side is pencil eyeliner and the other side is brush.

Since the color payoff isn't very excellent, it can be used for natural everyday look.
