The Strange Case of Alec Guinness Predicting James Dean's Death.

23 September 1955,Dean an American Film Actor had just bought a 1955 silver Porsche which was nick named 'Little Bastard', when he encountered Sir Alec Guinness a British Actor, Grace Kelly, and Louis Jourdan outside a restaurant.(23-September ) He showed them his new Porsche, and bragged that it could do "a hundred and fifty."

As Dean can't disguise his delight, his companion can't conceal his horror. Indeed, no sooner has he cast his eyes over the car than the visiting Brit shoots his acquaintance a hard stare. "If you get in that car, you will be found dead in it by this time next week."Sure enough, only six days later (on September 30) they pulled James Dean's lifeless body out of the twisted wreckage of his new Porsche, on a lonely stretch of highway near Paso Robles, California. He had been driving more than twice the speed limit when he crashed.

Following a Quaker funeral service, he was buried back home in Fairmont, Indiana. Magnetic Hill (India)

Magnetic Hill (India)

Have you ever heard of a place on earth that defies gravity? unbelievable, is it? Nestled in the lap of snow caped Himalayan ranges and silver valleys, Ladakh in India has a Magnetic hill where a vehicle moves up a steep hill even with their ignition off. The Magnetic hill or Gravity Hill is situated at a distance of 30 km from the capital city Leh and is located on the Leh-Kargil-Baltik national highway, at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level.

The magnetic power here can be experienced by switching off the vehicle at a certain spot here. You will notice the vehicle moving up the hill in no time at a speed of about 20 km/hr. The experience is also termed as Himalayan wonder and is a must if you happen to venture into the Himalayan territory of this part of the world.

Even while flying around this region, one can feel the pull of magnetic field. As reported by the local people and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), when the helicopters and aircrafts come with in the radius of this hill, they start to jerk. To avoid accidents, the fliers are advised to fly at specific speed and height.

The area has become a popular sight seeing place also because of the sikh Gurudwara near the hill which is maintained by the Indian Army. Guru Nanak Dev, the first of the ten Gurus of Sikhism had meditated near this hill in the 17th century. The Magnetic wonder combined with religious sentiments makes this place a must visit while travelling to Ladakh.

Poverty in India

2012-04-08T00:39:00.001-07:00

Poverty in India, I think this will be the right subject for thought of the day,,,,, and I am presumed that You know why .... .

Poverty is widespread in India, with the nation estimated to have a third of the world's poor. According to a 2005 World Bank estimate, 41.6% of the total Indian population falls below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 a day (PPP, in nominal terms 21.6 a day in urban areas and 14.3 in rural areas).

A recent report by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative ( OPHI ) states that 8 Indian states have more poor than 26 poorest African nations combined which totals to more than 410 million poor in the poorest African countries.

Importance of today for Indian people: -

In India, Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950.

The 26th of January was chosen to honour the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930. It is one of the three national holidays in India. While the main parade takes place in the national capital New Delhi at the Rajpath before the president, the anniversary is also celebrated with varying degrees of formality in state capitals and other centers.

Now definitely the question arises why this independent country is considered as poor.

Causes of poverty: -

Corruption is the main cause of poverty in India. There is also a high population growth rate, although demographers generally agree that this is a symptom rather than cause of poverty.

While services and industry have grown at double digit figures, agriculture growth rate has dropped from 4.8% to 2%.

About sixty percent of the population depends on agriculture whereas the contribution of agriculture to the GDP is about eighteen percent. The surplus of labour in agriculture has caused many people to not have jobs.

Farmers are a large vote bank and use their votes to resist reallocation of land for higher-income industrial projects.

Caste system

According to S. M. Michael, Dalits (Belongs to lowest social and ritual class in India.) constitute the bulk of poor and unemployed. According to William A. Haviland, casteism (The prejudice that Social status or position conferred by a system based on class in India, or in more easy words you can say it as racism) is widespread in rural areas, and continues to segregate Dalits.

Others, however, have noted the steady rise and empowerment of the Dalits through social reforms and the implementation of reservations in employment and benefits.

Caste explanations of poverty fail to account for the urban/rural divide. Using the UN definition of poverty, 65% of rural forward castes are below the poverty line.

India's economic policies

In 1947, the average annual income in India was US$439, compared with US$619 for China, US$770 for South Korea, and US$936 for Taiwan. By 1999, the numbers were US$1,818; US$3,259; US$13,317; and US$15,720, respectively. (numbers are in 1990 international Maddison dollars). In other words, the average income in India was not much different from South Korea in 1947, but South Korea became a developed country by 2000s. At the same time, India was left as one of the world's poorer countries.

License Raj refers to the elaborate licenses, regulations and the accompanying red tape that were required to set up and run business in India between 1947 and 1990. The License Raj was a result of India's decision to have a planned economy, where all aspects of the economy are controlled by the state and licenses were given to a select few.

Corruption flourished under this system.

The labyrinthine bureaucracy often led to absurd restrictions - up to 80 agencies had to be satisfied before a firm could be granted a licence to produce and the state would decide what was produced, how much, at what price and what sources of capital were used.
—BBC

India had started out in the 1950s with: high growth rates, openness to trade and investment, a promotional state, social expenditure awareness and macro stability but ended the 1980s with: low growth rates, closure to trade and investment, a license-obsessed, restrictive state (License Raj), inability to sustain social expenditures and macro instability, indeed crisis.
Poverty has decreased significantly since reforms were started in the 1980s.

Liberalization policies and their effects

Other points of view hold that the economic reforms[clarification needed] initiated in the early 1990s are responsible for the collapse of rural economies and the agrarian crisis currently underway. As journalist and the Rural Affairs editor for The Hindu, P Sainath describes in his reports on the rural economy in India, the level of inequality has risen to extraordinary levels, when at the same time, hunger in India has reached its highest level in decades. He also points out that rural economies across India have collapsed, or on the verge of collapse due to the neo-liberal policies of the government of India since the 1990s. The human cost of the "liberalisation" has been very high.

The huge wave of farm suicides in Indian rural population from 1997 to 2007 totaled close to 200,000, according to official statistics. That number remains disputed, with some saying the true number is much higher. Commentators have faulted the policies pursued by the government which, according to Sainath, resulted in a very high portion of rural households getting into the debt cycle, resulting in a very high number of farm suicides. As professor Utsa Patnaik, India’s top economist on agriculture, has pointed out, the average poor family in 2007 has about 100 kg less food per year than it did in 1997.

Government policies encouraging farmers to switch to cash crops, in place of traditional food crops, has resulted in an extraordinary increase in farm input costs, while market forces determined the price of the cash crop. Sainath points out that a disproportionately large number of affected farm suicides have occurred with cash crops, because with food crops such as rice, even if the price falls, there is food left to survive on. He also points out that inequality has reached one of the highest rates India has ever seen. In a report by Chetan Ahya, Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, it is pointed out that there has been a wealth increase of close to US$1 Trillion in the time frame of 2003-2007 in the Indian stock market, while only 4-7% of the Indian population hold any equity. During the time when Public investment in agriculture shrank to 2% of the GDP, the nation suffered the worst agrarian crisis in decades, the same time as India became the nation of second highest number of dollar billionaires. Sainath argues that

Farm incomes have collapsed. Hunger has grown very fast. Public investment in agriculture shrank to nothing a long time ago. Employment has collapsed. Non-farm employment has stagnated. (Only the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act has brought some limited relief in recent times.) Millions move towards towns and cities where, too, there are few jobs to be found.

In one estimate, over 85 per cent of rural households are either landless, sub-marginal, marginal or small farmers. Nothing has happened in 15 years that has changed that situation for the better. Much has happened to make it a lot worse.

Those who have taken their lives were deep in debt – peasant households in debt doubled in the first decade of the neoliberal “economic reforms,” from 26 per cent of farm households to 48.6 per cent. Meanwhile, all along, India kept reducing investment in agriculture (standard neoliberal procedure). Life was being made more and more impossible for small farmers.

As of 2006, the government spends less than 0.2% of GDP on agriculture and less than 3% of GDP on education. However, some government schemes such as the mid-day meal scheme, and the NREGA have been partially successful in providing a lifeline for the rural economy and curbing the further rise of poverty.

These are all statistics and study materials

Can you conclude it like this !

Poverty is becoming hereditary in India, at least for a sizeable population !

Indian Bindi

2012-04-08T00:34:00.001-07:00

A bindi (from Sanskrit bindu, meaning "a drop, small particle, dot") is a forehead decoration worn particularly in India.

Traditionally it is a dot of red color applied in the center of the forehead close to the eyebrows, but it can also consist of a sign or piece of jewelry worn at this location.

Traditionally, the area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra, ajna, the seat of "concealed wisdom".

According to followers of Hinduism, this chakra is the exit point for kundalini energy. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration.

It is also said to protect against demons or bad luck. The bindi also represents the third eye.

Misconception:

A misconception, urban legend, or myth about the bindi in the western world is that only married Hindu women wear red bindis as a symbol of wedlock .

Red represents honor, love and prosperity hence was worn traditionally by women to symbolize this.

The red bindi has multiple meanings which are all valid at the same time. This is also a spiritual symbol.

History:
The earliest references to the bindi in the literature were drawings in third- and fourth-century texts showing Hindu women with bindis. It is assumed today that the bindi was used to distinguish women from different castes if and by the way they wore their bindis – what color they had and what shape.

Even in ancient times, bindis used to be not only red, but also white, yellow, brown and black, depending on the material they were made from – plants, seeds, fruits or soot.

Red was always a color considered auspicious and therefore used on most occasions.

Actual Meaning:

1. By one simple interpretation it is a cosmetic mark used to enhance beauty.

2. In meditation, this very spot between the eyebrows (Bhrumadhya) is where one focuses his/her sight, so that it helps concentration. Most images of Buddha or Hindu divinities in meditative pose with their eyes nearly closed show the gaze focused between eyebrows (other spot being the tip of the nose - naasikagra).

3. Swami Muktanand writes 'auspicious Kumkum or sandal wood paste is applied (between the eyebrows) out of respect for inner Guru. It is the Guru's seat. There is a chakra (center of spiritual energy within human body) here called Ajna (Aadnyaa) chakra meaning 'Command center'. Here you receive the Guru's command to go higher in Sadhana (spiritual practice) to the 'Sahasraar' (seventh and final chakra) which leads to Self realization. The flame seen at the eyebrow is called 'Guru Jyoti'.

4. The encyclopedic dictionary of Yoga informs that this 'Ajna Chakra' is also called as the 'Third eye'. This center is connected with the sacred syllable 'Om' and presiding it is 'ParaaShiva'. After activation of this center, the aspirant overcomes 'Ahamkar' (ego or sense of individuality), the last hurdle on the path of spirituality.

Joke:

In White Saree , when you wear RED Bindi,
My lords sake,An ambulance coming to my eyes,

It takes injure person to the hospital,
But you carry on injuring us......

My View:

Decorative Indian bindis brighten up anyone's face and outfit.

The red dot on the forehead was traditionally drawn by hand by dipping one’s fingertip in red vermilion or kumkum powder and applying as round a dot as possible. In fact, bindi means round in Sanskrit and bottu, going back to Dravidian sources, means fingertip.

The bindi’s popularity is caused by no small extend to the fact that they are an inexpensive way to add that little extra to any outfit – regardless if one is going to the office, a party or a wedding. The limits of bindi designs hence just depend on the creativity and imagination of bindi makers and designers.

Traditionally, the bindi has been the symbol of a married woman whose husband is alive, therefore widows were not allowed to wear it. In fact, during the husband’s funeral, the red kumkum powder once used for drawing the bindi is thrown on his body while it is wiped from his wife’s forehead. Today, some widows wear bindis as do unmarried women and women and girls who are not Hindus.

The meaning of the bindi has not only shifted but got completely reversed over the centuries – from a mark of exclusion or exclusivity to a decorative (fashion) statement that unites women around the world. Story of India's Shakepeare - Kalidasa

2012-04-08T00:28:00.001-07:00

Kalidasa ( servant of Kali ) was a renowned Classical Sanskrit writer, widely regarded as the greatest poet and dramatist in the Sanskrit language. His floruit cannot be dated with precision, but most likely falls within 4th Century AD in ancient India.

His plays and poetry are primarily based on Hindu Puranas and philosophy.

Kālidāsa wrote three plays. Among them, Abhijnanasakuntalam ("Of Shakuntala recognised by a token") is generally regarded as a masterpiece. It was among the first Sanskrit works to be translated into English, and has since been translated into many languages.

Vikramōrvaśīyam ("Pertaining to Vikrama and Urvashi") tells the story of mortal King Pururavas and celestial nymph Urvashi who fall in love.

Kālidāsa is the author of two epic poems, Raghuvaṃśa ("Dynasty of Raghu") and Kumārasambhava ("Birth of Kumāra"). Among his lyric poems are Meghadūta ("Cloud Messenger") and Ṛtusaṃhāra ("The Exposition on the Seasons").

Kalidas's contribution to Indian literature is tremendous. Though his writings were in Sanskrit, they have been translated into numerous languages.

The Legend of Kalidasa:-

One sunny day, Kalidas was sitting on a branch of a tree, trying to saw it off. But the dimwitted man was sitting on the wrong end of the branch, so when he finally sawed through the branch, down he tumbled! This act of sheer stupidity was observed by some shrewd pundits minister passing by.

Now these pundits wanted to play a trick on the arrogant princess, to teach her a lesson. She was determined to marry someone who would defeat her in a debate about the scriptures. The princess had heaped considerable abuse on them over a period of time, and they were determined to extract their revenge. So, when they chanced upon Kalidas, they decided to present him to the queen as a suitable match for her.

In order to conceal his stupidity, the pundits asked Kalidas to pretend that he was a great sage, who was observing a vow of silence. Kalidas readily agreed, and they presented him to the queen, saying that Kalidas would only communicate by way of gestures. When the queen asked Kalidas a few questions to test his intelligence, Kalidas gesticulated wildly and the astute pundits 'interpreted' these gestures as extremely witty answers and retorts. The princess was suitably impressed, and the couple was married without much delay.

Kalidas's stupidity could be concealed for only so long, and the night of the wedding Kalidas blurted out something inane. The princess realized that she had married a prize fool. Furious, she threw him out of her palace, and her life.

The dejected Kalidas wandered around, till he came to the bank of the river. He contemplated taking his life when he suddenly saw some women washing clothes on the edge of the river bank. He observed that the stones which the women were pounding with clothes, were smooth and rounded, while the other stones were rough and ragged. This observation hit him like a thunderbolt, and it dawned upon him that if stones could be worn through and change their shape by being pounded upon by clothes, then why couldn't his thick brains change, by being pounded upon by knowledge!

Kalidas thus grew determined to become the wisest and most learned man in the country, and to achieve this end he started indulging in intellectual pastimes, reading, meditating and praying to his goddess Kali to grant him divine knowledge. His wish was fulfilled.

Meghadutam:

2012-04-08T00:20:00.001-07:00

Meghadutam:: - A beautiful piece of ancient Indian literary treasure, the Meghadutam ,written by Kalidasa is a short poem of a little over 100 verses.

The Meghadutam, literally translated means the Cloud Messenger. It is divided into two parts, Purvamegha (Previous cloud) and Uttaramegha (Consequent cloud).

According to the story, the treasurer of Gods, Kubera has a group of divine attendants working for him, called the Yakshas.

One of these Yakshas was so smitten and obsessed with his wife that he ignored his duties. He was cursed and banished into the woods on earth. Thoroughly dejected, he kept thinking about his wife and missed her a lot. His wife also kept thinking about him all day and all night.

Then one day, monsoons arrived on earth. The Yaksha saw a rain cloud pass by and requested it to carry a message to his wife. The Yaksha then starts to describe the route the cloud should be taking. The description is so captivating and so vivid, that one can actually feel like he scenes are flashing in front of you.

The Yaksha makes the route seem as attractive as possible so that the cloud takes his message to his wife. The emotions portrayed are so beautiful that it couldn't have been given a better treatment by any other poet.

Moral :- I'm not pushing away, I'm holding on for dear life, but I need you to need me back.

Quotes:-

1. “Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn! Look to this Day! For it is Life, the very Life of Life. In its brief course lie all the Verities and Realities of your Existence. The Bliss of Growth, The Glory of Action, The Splendor of Beauty; For Yesterday is but a Dream, And To-morrow is only a Vision; But To-day well lived makes Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness, And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope. Look well therefore to this Day! Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!”
:Kalidasa

2. “We have watered the trees that blossom in the summer-time. Now let's sprinkle those whose flowering time is past. That will be the better deed, because we shall not be working for the reward.”

Mind pollution.

2012-04-08T00:17:00.001-07:00

If the mind a person is polluted, then the body of him / her is also polluted, and the tongue is polluted as well.

Here in our IFF, I have to say typing fingers are also polluted.

It stinks. which is offensively unpleasant.
Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If we speak and act with a polluted mind, suffering will follow us, as the wheels of the oxcart follow the footsteps of the ox. Everything is based on mind, is led by mind, is fashioned by mind. If we speak and act with a pure mind, happiness will follow us, as a shadow clings to a form.

when we are suffering, we can look inside to find the cause - always some form of clinging. by noticing how quickly we attach to new ideas and perspectives, we can begin to unlearn the habit. one trick is to watch for moments when we feel the need to defend ourselves or our point of view. defensiveness is always a red flag; it shows that we have once again become stuck in a point of view. we are pretending to be solid, and we want everyone else to go along with it. with a little honesty and effort, we can determine where we are stuck and then choose to let go. gradually we become more flexible, finding it easier to let go of our perspectives. we take this 'me' less seriously, appreciating instead our dynamic and unfixed true nature.

with practice, we begin to see the world from the perspective of BIG MIND, which can see all perspectives but clings to none. we learn that it is possible to return to the view of BIG MIND whenever we've become stuck. it's easiest to assume that we're stuck somewhere; we only have to figure out where and then let go. liberation from the self is living each day without a place to stand or ideas about who we are. that's when we can dance with life.

♥♥ "A touching love story that 'll make u cry"♥♥

10th Grade:-
As I sat there in English class, I stared at the girl next to me.
She was my so called 'best friend'. I stared at her long, silky hair,
and wished she was mine. But she didn't notice me like that,
and I knew it. After class, she walked up to me and asked me for
the notes she had missed the day before. I handed them to her.She said 'thanks'
and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know
that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy,
and I don't know why.

11th grade:-
The phone rang. On the other end, it was her. She was in tears, mumbling on and on about how her love had broke her heart. She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, So I did. As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine. After 2 hours, one Drew Barrymore movie, and three bags of chips, she decided to go home. She looked at me, said 'thanks'
and gave me a kiss on the cheek..I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Senior year:-
One fine day she walked to my locker. "My date is sick" she said,
"hes not gonna go" well, I didn't have a date, and in 7th grade,
we made a promise that if neither of us had dates, we would go together just as 'best friends'. So we did. That night, after everything was over, I was standing at her front door step. I stared at her as She smiled at me and stared at me with her crystal eyes. Then she said- "I had the best time, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Graduation:-
A day passed, then a week, then a month. Before I could blink, it was graduation day. I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma. I wanted her to be mine-but she didn't notice me like that, and I knew it.
Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. Then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said- 'you're my best friend, thanks' and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I want to tell her, I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Marriage:-
Now I sit in the pews of the church. That girl is getting married now. and drive off to her new life, married to another man. I wanted her to be mine, but she didn't see me like that, and I knew it. But before she drove away, she came to me and said 'you came !'. She said 'thanks' and kissed me on the cheek. I want to tell her,
I want her to know that I don't want to be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why.

Death:-
Years passed, I looked down at the coffin of a girl who used to be my 'best friend'.
At the service, they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years.

This is what it read:

'I stare at him wishing he was mine, but he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. I want to tell him, I want him to know that I don't want to be just friends,
I love him but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. I wish he would tell me he loved me !

.........'I wish I did too...'
I thought to my self, and I cried. :-(

Contract Emu Farming - Some Warnings

2012-02-29T07:05:00.001-08:00

Recently some distasteful news in the Media about Emu Business from Maharashtra, which was disheartening.

There are two sides to a coin. One side is the people who simply ready to be duped with tons of ignorance and Money, and the Other side is the People who design their schemes such that most appealing to a common man to part with his Money and Confidence. This applies to Finance Companies to Forex Companies, and Emu Business is not an exception to this White-Collar Crime.

Before someone new to this industry end-up in a similar scam, there are some valid points to look for before investing in Emu Schemes, whether it is Contract Emu Farming or MLM-type Schemes. We will be seeing them here.

In any Business, there has to be a product. In Emu Business, Meat & Oil are the products (Eggs are only for reproduction and is not a product). These are the two main reasons for which, Emus have to be culled. Culling for reasonable economic values is the essential key to this Business. If there is no culling and no regeneration, the cycle never completes.

Before you invest and Sign a contract with a Contract Emu Farming Company, please look into the following aspects.

I put them into pointers:

In an Emu Contract Farming Business - Check whether they have processing plants to produce Meat and Oil. Emu Processing Unit (EPU), as they are called, are setup to cull birds hygienically, and cut meat as required by Market. If the Emu Contract Farming Company does not have EPU and proper Marketing Arrangements to market the meat, do not invest your money with them.

If the Emu Contract Farming Business offers you more than Rs.350/- per month per bird, double check their past history, and also check whether they already have the EPU. It might be possible that they need more birds for their busy EPU, so they offer higher premium. If not, they are luring you and your money, because it is simply not viable to run at this cost for long-term. This also applies to giving Gold Coins as an Incentive to join. Simply, doubt them.

If the Emu Contract Farming Business is based on the Multi-Level-Marketing mode, never involve into this. You will earn only bad reputation for yourself, because you are false-promising many people into that. Stay away from these kind of schemes.

With the advent of few big names in the industry doing Emu Contract Farming in large scale has raised concerns for many. Because the amount involved is running into Crores of Rupees. The tipping point for this industry will flower once the Emu Meat is well liked by the end-users. For that to happen, Emu Meat must be freely available on the market first.

Emu business will sustain and grow only when there is a usage, that means, a Market for Meat. This can be achieved only through selling its Meat for consumers and Oil for Pharmaceutical Industries. That day is not too far.

The Egg Season has begun....!!!

2012-02-29T07:01:00.001-08:00

Emu Breeders started laying. I also contacted several other people, and many of them confirmed their Breeders started laying, but not started in full swing.

Please note, when the season actually begins, not all the breeders will lay eggs. One or two pair will start laying eggs initially, and to kick off the momentum it will take atleast 2-3 weeks. Until then, you cannot start your incubator. Because to start an Incubator, you need a reasonable quantity of eggs to sustain the cost of production.

What to do with the eggs until then...?

You can keep it in Fridge at 18 degree celcius, for upto 15 days. Or, you can keep it in a dark, cold place inside a clay pot. When you are taking out the eggs from Fridge storage, keep the egg in open space at room temperature for a minimum of 8 hours for the eggs to stabilize.

The price of the eggs?..... Good question, wait for atleast next 10 days..!! This is the Demand and Supply equation.

Emu Schemes - Maladies of our time

2012-02-29T06:58:00.001-08:00

I am seeing a lot, a lot of lot, advertisements in the Tamil Newspapers, Radio and TV Media, for Emu Farming and its dubious schemes. I am little worried about the stupendous nature of the propaganda, and associated 'freebies'.

I am not sure about other states. People can share them in the comments of this blog.

Only one word, beware...!!! Be cautious about your hard-earned money on these schemes.

Why I am worried?

1. There is no effective meat market developed yet for export or for local sale and there is no symptoms of it, so far. In my opinion, exporting emu meat is simply not profitable. It has to be sold locally.

2. Unimaginable monthly returns are assured and tempted with Gold Coins. In my opinion, the industry is heading to peak for this year 2012 season (September 2012 to February 2013), and will go down for the next season.

3. Officials from Veterinary Departments, preferred to stay away from saying any comments on this business, since they are not very sure of where it is going. There is no guidance or regulations from the government.

So, whom to beleive in? The game is keep going, and let's see how long will it go.

There are several stories are floating. One thing is certain as the money collected is not purely invested in Emu Farming Business alone. It goes somewhere..!!.

EMU Meat is a healthy alternative to red meat, as it does not contain intramuscular or other fat. The EMU Meat is high in vitamins and minerals, as well as fatty acids and is low in cholesterol. It is important to prepare the meat in such a way that the goodness is kept as unchanged as possible.

In order to keep the vitamins and other nutrients intact, it is important to cook EMU Meat as quickly as possible over high heat. When preparing steaks for instance, it is desirable to slice them thinly and then pan fry them quickly. This also ensures that the meat does not become dry or loose its tenderness.

Another important factor when cooking EMU Meat is not to make the mistake of adding to much oil or fat to the pan when it is cooked. EMU Meat is lean by nature, and we do not wish to spoil this healthy meat by adding too much fat.

Nomenclature of EMU Meat :

Neck – cut into rings – use for stews and broths
Wing
Back – used for cutlets
Breast and ribs
Upper leg – Cut into steaks or roasts:
1. Small Fillet – great for stir fries and kebabs
2. Fillet – Use for pan fried or grilled steaks
3. Small Steak – Use for pan fried or grilled steaks
Shin cutlets – great for stews or grilling
Tail

EMU Meat can be substituted for beef in almost any other dish. It is just important to remember a few guidelines when these substitutions are made:
EMU Meat does not shrink when cooked like most other meats. Adjust portion sizes by preparing a bit less that is stipulated in the recipe for beef.
Overcooking the EMU Meat makes it dry and tough.
When minced, EMU Meat cooks very quickly. And need enough sauce or moisture added to keep it from becoming too dry.
EMU Meat absorbs seasonings and marinades easily. It is a good idea to marinate steaks for barbeque grilling to ensure that they do not dry out too much during grilling.
EMU Meat will continue cooking after removing it from the heat. It is a good idea to remove the meat from the heat when the inside is still slightly pink. After resting the meat for a few minutes, the redness will be cooked away.
Always cut EMU Meat against the grain.

Let us look at a few guidelines for the preparation and storage of EMU Meat:

EMU Meat stores best when vacuum sealed. It will last in the refrigerator for up to 4 weeks, when properly sealed. It will freeze well for 6 – 9 months when well vacuum-packed.
EMU Meat needs to be totally defrosted before preparing.
It is best to rinse and pat the EMU Meat dry before cooking.

EMU Meat is very versatile. All cuts of the EMU can be prepared as you prefer preparing beef. Do not be shy of marinating the meat, and do not be afraid of trying out new recipes. You are bound to find that EMU Meat is easy to prepare, and very tasty too!

You told me I was the only one who could make you feel that way you told me that you cared about me and yet you didn't stay

All the nights you laid with me alone in the dark in my bed now I finally realize you were just messing with my head

Love is such a powerful word one that people often misuse something they take for granted something they beat around and abuse

My wounds run deep inside me there's blood all over the place I think I've really lost it this time I'm ashamed to show my face...

Star Wars: Sridevi vs. Madhuri Dixit

2012-02-04T07:44:00.001-08:00

The question is not whether Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit were good actresses. The question is not even whether they have scorched Bollywood silver screen. The war cry for this edition of Star Wars is simple: Between the two, who was the bigger star?
Ruling Bollywood as undisputed No 1s, Sridevi and Madhuri were the true superstars of Bollywood. Very few before or after them had the power to draw initials single-handedly. Their names were enough to bring the masses to the movie-halls, and seldom did the two disappoint their loyal patrons.
Source: India Syndicate

Neither Sridevi nor Madhuri belonged to cinema clans; they went through the grind, Sridevi doing child roles in south Indian films, and Madhuri making a not very auspicious start despite being part of the then-kingmakers - the Rajshri Productions.

Sridevi had to brave it out in the Tamil industry, eventually finding her foothold as the preferred heroine for any Kamal Haasan or Rajnikanth movie. Her conquest was slow - a few Malayalam films here, some Telugu there, and Tamil being her reigning turf.

While their talent quotient and rich endearing expressions are undeniable strengths, it would be no exaggeration to say that Sridevi and Madhuri earned cult following, especially in Bollywood, through the power of their hips (absolutely no pun intended).

Those B-grade Jeetendra-flicks, most of them remade from Tamil or Telugu, featuring dance numbers, where the number of colorful pots dotting the silver screen still didn't outnumber the pelvic thrusts of the lead actors, shaped the Bollywood destiny of Sridevi.

For Madhuri, the clincher was the 'Ek Do Teen...' number from 'Tezaab', a song that continues to regale the new generation through countless enactments on reality television shows.

However, to the credit of Sridevi and Madhuri, it was more than their dance skills or body moves that made them truly endearing to the masses. Perhaps they helped in sealing the sad fate of the one-dance-vamps that earlier were a must-have accessory of Bollywood films.
Where both the actresses - one a south Indian who couldn't even speak Hindi accent-free and the other a trained microbiologist turned actress from Maharashtra - scored was in their ability to endear themselves to the masses.
Who is to forget the 'Parinda' of Madhuri or the 'Chandni' of Sridevi? They might not have been feted with national awards; their roles are remembered to this day. They also had this uncanny knack to outsmart everyone else they share the screen space - Madhuri's 'Devdas', and Sridevi's 'Mr. India' to start with.
By the time Sridevi and Madhuri had called it quits - albeit temporarily - both had built a powerful body of works that is sure to stand the test of time. From 'Sadma' - the remake of the Tamil hit 'Moondram Pirai' to 'Lamhe', 'Khuda Ghawa', 'Chaalbaaz' and 'Nagina', Sridevi gave notable performances that underlined her caliber and charisma in equal measure.
Madhuri had a bigger catch: Mention India's all-time hits, and her name figures - 'Tezaab', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Tridev', 'Dil', 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Saajan', 'Khalnayak', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Mrityudand', and 'Devdas', apart from a slew of other box office hits.
Sridevi had the enviable track-record of having been paired opposite most of India's superstars, across all languages. From Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra to Anil Kapoor to Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, N. T. Rama Rao and A. Nageswara Rao, she was the heroine of the superstars.
Madhuri's career is equally distinguished - while it being more or less Bollywood-centric. She shouldered equal weightage roles in movies with Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, never undermining her own importance in any of her films. She went on to become the muse of legendary painter M. F. Hussain, another feather in her cap.
Sridevi married into Bollywood - being the better half of a man who is central to the industry; Madhuri married out of the industry - entering the life of someone who hadn't even seen her act.
But both made their graceful exit; Madhuri returned and proved she can still create a stir in Bollywood with 'Aaja Nachle'; Sridevi is returning with 'English Vinglish'.
While Madhuri, having moved to the US, is obviously missing from Bollywood mainstream, Sridevi graces film functions and even sizzles on the ramp.
Both have made their mark - playing a long and remarkable innings.
So who do you think was one notch higher up in star power? The south Indian girl who could wink at you from the screen and make your heart skip a beat; or the Maharashtrian, whose smile could give you sleepless nights?

The Magic Of Love

Love is like magic
And it always will be.
For love still remains
Life's sweet mystery!!
Love works in ways
That are wondrous and strange
And there's nothing in life
That love cannot change!!
Love can transform
The most commonplace
Into beauty and splendor
And sweetness and grace.
Love is unselfish,
Understanding and kind,
For it sees with its heart
And not with its mind!!
Love is the answer
That everyone seeks...
Love is the language,
That every heart speaks.
Love can't be bought,
It is priceless and free,
Love, like pure magic,
Is life's sweet mystery!!

A good short love story - how can you not love them?

2012-02-04T07:41:00.001-08:00

A good short love story - how can you not love them?

So here is a short love story to tell you all is fair in love... I love this particular story - for a good reason.

- One way ticket? You are going to move into town? the young man asked.

He could not get his eyes off the pretty young woman sitting in front of him in the train.

- No, the young woman in question said.

She knew the young man had a crush for her. Women just know these things. They had been sitting in the train for hours, face to face. At first they had just nodded to one another, and then the young man had introduced himself politely. She was not the kind who wanted to talk to strangers, but it really wouldn´t matter after a few hours. So she had started talking with him.

- Oh you haven´t decided yet when you will return? the youth did not want to leave the matter be.
short love story - train for America

- I won´t, she said.

- Are you going to a factory to work, then? he persisted.

- No, she said, - My sister invited me to America and I am leaving tomorrow morning, she continued.

- Oh...

The young man had not expected this. Of course the times were rough and many people were traveling to seaports to take the ships to a hopefully better future across the ocean. But he just hadn´t thought anyone as young and innocent looking as this girl would do so.

- I have heard it is not always very safe to go, he tried.

- I shall meet others at the harbor, the girl said with a voice that said the conversation was over, - I shall be perfectly safe!

At that the young man fell quiet. The girl closed her eyes and pretended to be napping. He had good time to watch her. Pretty, slightly round face, shiny brown hair. And even though he could not see the eyes now, he knew they were the color of the morning mist - grayish blue. She had pretty, small hands and a slim figure. You could see from her clothes she was not wealthy, but everything was neat and clean. He realized he liked her very much. Very, very much.

The girl opened her eyes and found him looking at her. He coughed, embarrassed that he had been caught.

- I need to...go... she said modestly, - Do you think you could keep an eye on my bags?

- Of course, Miss, he said and she left.

When she came back she found him asleep. She shook her head and sat down. Her wooden coffer was under the seat and her smaller bag was... Nowhere to be seen!

He opened his eyes when he heard her scared exclamation.

- My bag! Someone has stolen my bag! You promised to look after my bags!

The young man looked scared. He got to his feet and got out of the compartment. The girl frantically looked at every corner and shelf, under all the seats, to see if she had just put her bag into a wrong place. But it was nowhere to be seen.

- Is it this one? the young man held a bag in his hands, - I found it in the corner of the next compartment.

- Yes, yes it is! she grabbed it quickly and opened it, - My purse... here... yes, it is here... My papers...

She sat down, looking like she was going to faint.

- My passport! Someone has stolen my passport!

- Oh no, the young man said, - I shall go and ask everyone if they saw anything.

He came back after half an hour. The girl looked at him hopefully. He shook his head.

- Nothing. No one has seen anything, and none of the people look suspicious. Ordinary, decent folks, all of them.

- My passport... Now I cannot leave! she burst into tears, - Who would only take my passport and leave my purse and all the money? This makes no sense!

He sat next to her and took her hand to console her.

- Please, Miss. You can get another passport.

- But it takes forever! I cannot get to this ship! My sister is waiting for me to arrive with it!

- Write a letter explaining you will come later. Give the letter to someone who is going to that ship and can take it to your sister in America.

Slowly she calmed down.

- I shall help you to get a new passport, because it was my fault it was stolen, the young man said, - I can never forgive myself! The first thing we shall do is to go to the police to report the theft. At least they can check if anyone is trying to use it tomorrow.

She did not say anything but gave him a faint smile. He felt her passport in his inside breast pocket. He would need to get rid of it as soon as possible.

He looked into her grey blue eyes and smiled so tenderly she blushed. ♥

In front of the person you like

2012-02-04T07:40:00.001-08:00

In front of the person you like, your heart beats faster.
But in front of the person you love, you get happy.
In front of the person you love, winter seems like spring.
But in front of the person you like, winter is just a beautiful winter.
If you look into the eyes of the one you like, you blush.
But if you look into the eyes of the one you love, you smile.
In front of the person you like, you can’t say everything in you mind.
But in front of the person you love, you can.
In front of the person you like, you tend to get shy.
But in front of the person you love, you can show your own self.
You can’t look straight into the eyes of the one you like.
But you can always smile into the eyes of the one you love.
When the one you love is crying, you cry with them.
But when the one you like is crying, you end up comforting.
The feeling of like starts from the ear.
But the feeling of love starts from the eye.
So, if you stop liking a person you used to to like, all you need to do is cover your ears.
But if you try to close your eyes, love turns into a drop of tears and remains in your heart forever.

I Don't Know, Why I'm dreamed About Her Again..

2012-01-15T20:56:00.001-08:00

I Don't Know, Why I'm dreamed About Her Again..
I Don't even thinking about her..!!
But, Why I'm having Dreams..??

In the Dream, She was With the Very same Uniform..
Just passed Me, Without even Smiling..
But, as usual, Noticing My Presence in her Path -
As I always used to..
The thing about Dreams that they are So crazy -
That My Sister and My Cousin was there with me and -
I was explaining to them, who she is..!! Weird Ha..?
Ofcourse It is Weird, Becoz..
I didn't explained My Love to anybody Except her..
And the Dream Broke..
I Hate Loses, espesially dreams, because it can't Rebuild..

As far as I know, It was Me, Who loved Her..
She didn't love Me back, as She made Me to belive..
But, I did know that She was thinking about Me and -
Refused because of Some Essential Stupid Circumstances -
That She Somehow Somewhere Explained..
But, I had been Mad in Love and May be it was My First Love..

As Time moved, Everything went cool.. We both are in -
Our own Way.. Cool.. Smooth.. Without Worries..
And Even Without Memories..
I Don't even thinking about Her..!!
But, Why I'm having Dreams..??

It has been Over Eight years and She is Very far Now..
Really Far Away fom Me..
Well, Happy With her husband and Child..
I am Sure and I Know, that She dont have any trace -
Of Memories of that days Now, and Memories of Mine too..

But, Still I dont Know Why I'm dreamed About Her Again..
And I Don't even thinking about Her..!!
But, Pls tell Me this.. Why I'm having Her Dream Sometimes..??!

Am I Still Love Her.?
Or it's Just Memories..?
I don't Know..!! May be I Will Never Know..
