A DAY WITH THE AETAS

The Aeta (Ayta /ˈaɪtə/ EYE-tə; Kapampangan: áitâ), or Agta, are an indigenous people who live in scattered, isolated mountainous parts of the island of Luzon, the Philippines. (source: Wikipedia).

They are located mostly in Central Part of Luzon, in the mountainous areas of Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac and Bataan. In Bataan alone, they have communities in Orani, Samal, Abucay, Morong and Mariveles. And we have given the chance to visit one of the community in Bankal, Abucay last December 29, 2018.

It’s been 2 decade now, since I last visited them. The road back then was muddy and slippery, I remember we have to trek 15-20 minutes just to reach the place. Their lives are so simple back then, even though there’s no electricity, no proper sanitation , but their hope, laughter and spirit are full.

I thought that experience with them will just become a memory and part of my younger days to look back, but God is so gracious that He never allow that “experience” to be forgotten. They’re always in my heart and every time I’m seeing some of them begging for alms, my mind always go back to the place I first met them. The urge to go back there is so strong that I wanted once again to see and taste the goodness of God in their lives and to share in our own little ways the abundance of God’s blessings.

Our initial plan is just only to give them some food and some toys since its Christmas time, the money that we gained from our little online business will be our fund for that project, but God open the hearts of many to become part of this event. God is always sure in bringing people together for the good and benefit of every one. We are all set for the event but the weather is not with us, it was raining days before and I am anxious and worried that it will be very difficult for us to go up to the mountain knowing that the road going there is not that pleasant.

But our God is sovereign in everything. He is the Creator of heaven and earth. We prayed for sun but He give us clouds instead to allow us to experience the cool and breezy mountain air. What a good God indeed. We reached the community in time for the program, the feeling is still same. The people are the same, though some of them aged already, but their smiles and their hospitality are the same. I thought we will be a blessing for them but instead it was the other way around. We are so blessed because of them.

We thought we will just go along with the program Ate Lin prepared for but God has a different plan instead, Because of the limited time Ate Lin asked us to handle the toddlers and held our mini Christmas party in their day care center. And it was a success. They participated well during our games and the smiles and giggled on their faces cannot be contained. The abundance of God’s grace shown all over the place. We have lots of food for everyone and gifts to share with their families.

God never let us leave the place empty handed, but He make it sure that we will bring some lessons that will forever change my perspective in life:

1. You don’t need to be rich to bless others – we always said “ When I’ll became rich I will donate or I will help those in need’. Your life is already a blessing, just by sharing your life, your time and even the smallest and simplest resources you have for the welfare of other is more far worthy than any millions you can give for charity. You are extremely blessed and you are more blessed than you realize.

2. Learn to appreciate the kind of life God has given you – I sometimes complain with the things I don’t have and failed to count all the things God has given me. In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Aetas don’t have the luxury of life in the mountain but they are contented. And their hearts are full. Why don’t we stop complaining for things we cannot change but instead do something to be part of the change. Our world is falling apart and it needs you and me and the love that comes from Christ to bind together and to keep it from falling.

3. Your worth is not determined by our physical appearance – Their outside appearance may be different from us. We always think we are superior than them and often bullied and harassed them because of their looks. Being different does not mean they are of lesser value than us. Remember that we have the same Creator, and He created each one of us in His own image and likeness. Each one of us is uniquely beautiful and our God is so proud to all His creation and that includes you and me. Whether you are fat, skinny, curvy, short, tall, curly or straight hair — your worth does not change. You are still the same person with the same beliefs and values, and a whole lot to offer. Because you are, and always were, is enough in the eyes of God.

It was indeed a blessed day. God orchestrated everything that transpired on that day for His greater glory. Their lives are God’s living testimony of His love, grace and salvation to mankind. He makes everything beautiful in His time and we leave that place more blessed than before.

HAPPY 1ST YEAR IN HEAVEN

Dearest Dy,

It's been a year since you peacefully departed the earth and entered a place that can only be described as paradise. To be in the presence of God and surrounded by legions of angels are overwhelming. I'm sure you were captivated by the melodies of heavenly worship. I cant help but to imagine you dancing and singing your hearts out. With all your dance moves I'm sure there's always a party there. The rewards of your obedient heart must be so fulfilling. Oh how we long to experience the same with you one day.

Life without you is harder yet we are coping. We miss you everyday, your laughter, your comical acts, even your temperament. It is true that you will truly miss the person when he is gone.

We really tried our very best to be home this time to celebrate your 1st anniversary
in heaven. We all fly back home just for you, that's how we love and cherish you.

Kate and Kale are growing so fast, ohh they miss you so much, they are both schooling. And both are doing well. I'm sure they will grow up as fine and beautiful young man and woman someday. Of course there are times we wish you were here to witness every significant events in our family. We wish you were still here, standing beside us and being proud and grateful in every achievements we have and yet in time of troubles and worries you will still be there to embrace us and assuring us that God got this and everything will be fine.

Ma misses you a lot - you know that for sure. I can still see the hurt and longing in her eyes yet I also see her love and appreciation for you as she laugh, cries and share stories. She is taking it one day at a time and I'm proud how stronger she become. God definitely has an amazing chapter for her life and I know you will be even prouder of her.

Lots of people still misses you and they are grateful for your life, leadership and example. Their stories and memories of you makes us proud to be your children and we hope we continue your legacy.

I know ~~someday~~ , rather one day we will be all together again but for now just enjoy your moments with the Lord and please make it sure that our mansion is always clean and shiny, just like your smile.

YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH

Have you ever thought little of yourself? Have someone told you that you are not enough? Or you have been cut deeply because of the words spoken to you. Words spoken out of emotions, because of anger, or just a simple recklessness that totally disregards your feeling?

We all fall on this trap. I do too, so many times. It alters my confidence, my ability to see my worth and my value as a person. It weakens my spirit and bring me to a realization that I’m not enough and will never be enough no matter how hard I tried.

And as times goes by those thousands hurtful words spoken to you, will penetrate, linger and filtered in your minds and eventually bring in to the surface and will affect the way you view yourself. We tend see ourselves essentially on how others see us.

But don't allow yourself to be put down because of those words. Christ suffering on the cross does not only saved us from the penalty of sin which is death but He also redeemed us and washed us with His blood to be righteous and perfect in Father’s eye through Christ.

Hurt people does not need to hurt other people but instead we should be of help.

God poured out His grace toward us and because of that we should also extend that overflowing grace to everyone around us.

Do not let our hurtful experiences affects the way we deal with others. Resist from using words that will hurt and bring scars to others. Ask our Heavenly Father to heal, free and pull us up from the deadly pit. It’s time to stand and wipe out those dust and move on. Remember, don't just cut down the tree but dig up the roots.

You are unique, beautiful, priceless. You are bought with a price. You were made and created perfectly in the image and likeness of God. You are His heir. His beloved.

Someone else’s inability to see my worth does not lessen the value that my Creator has given me. He worked so hard on me, so hard on you. We are His masterpieces. You are not less of value but YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH.

MIRACLES do exist

In my previous blog, I will not be moved, I shared with you about the difficult journey our family is going through. for those who are following my blog , join me in the continuation of our journey.....

When I learned that my father was already transferred in the ICU, I said to myself, this is it. I need to go home as fast as I could. Or else I will regret that I didn't come home, for the rest of my life. If only I have wings or power to go to one place I would definitely be on their side immediately. It broke my heart hearing my mother so helpless. Being an OFW, one of the hardest and difficult struggle that we have is during this situation, there is no assurance that your employer will understand the situation and will approve your leave without hesitation But I believe God’s miracle is working already in our life during that time. I immediately asked for permission to go home and just few hours later, I found myself checking in at the airport.

Albert Einstein said there are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle and the other is as though everything is a miracle. I am a believer of miracle because my life is already a miracle. And what He did in my father’s life is a full manifestation that God’s miracles still do exist. He restored my father’s health at that time, beyond our imagination. Who would ever think that being confined in the ICU for 3 days, with no sign of waking up again, that even the doctors already admitted that their hope were losing slowly. And advised us to be brave, accept and expect the worst. But then our God is a miraculous God, He works in ways we cannot see, 3 days after He opened my father's eyes. He woke up from his slumber.

What keeps our hope higher and stronger are the presence of everyone who came, comfort and prayed for my father’s wellness during that time. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. To everyone who never stop storming and bombarding the heaven with their prayers. God heard our prayers audibly and loudly. Truly prayers really can move mountains. I may not be able to mentioned you by names but known that God sees your heart and good deeds. May the Lord bless your life thousand fold for all the little things you have done for us.

The love we felt are overwhelming. Family, relatives, friends, church mates and co-pastors from different churches who came and stay with us even until wee hours of night is a true assurance of the unconditional love that comes from God. Your presence somehow gives light during our darkest days.

Our heart is full of gratitude, of unending praises and overflowing thanksgiving to the One who proves that nothing is impossible in Him.

We transferred him to the private room and it was so big that it can accommodate the whole clan and visitors as well. His provision never runs out, His blessings over poured and His mercies are new every morning. He settled the payment of our hospital bills that reach up to 6 digits. The 9 days we spent in the hospital are one of best memorable days of my life. It does not only bring healing to my father but it also strengthened relationship among each other. During those difficult times, it brings our family closer, stronger and more together than ever before. And in the top of this one thing remains sure and true. God is in control of everything and everything will work out for our own good.

Praise Him forever.

I WILL NOT BE MOVED

Yes it is tough. it is really tough. and the coming days it might be tougher but I am sure it will soon passed. Victory is waiting at the end. For I know, we are more than a conqueror. We are victors and our enemy is already defeated thousands of years ago. My family is going through one of the hardest trials of our life but I know and I firmly believe that we already claim the victory through Jesus. We have been through this before when my brother was diagnosed of kidney failure. We have seen how the hand of God worked on his life. We surpassed that episode with flying colors that's why I know this time we will are expecting the same. Not because we are rich and we can afford all the best medication he need. We don't even know how are we going to settled all the medical expenses that are continuously accumulating (But I know we have nothing to worry for our God is rich) But because we have a big God who can sustain us and do miracle in our father’s life. He has proven His power over him 30 yrs ago when he was diagnosed of having a diabetes. He healed him completely and miraculously. From then on he surrender his life to Him. The God we have during that time is also the same God that we have right now. Nothing change. His power to heal before is the same power He has now.

Though my heart is crushed right now because of the situation but it doesn’t mean that my faith will also be crushed. My faith is stronger than ever before. My faith will not be moved by the circumstances but it will be flourish like a tree planted on the running water. My faith will enable me to believe that miracle is happening right now. My faith will keep my hopes higher than it should be. My faith will make impossible things become possible. And my faith will continue to praise God no matter how difficult the situation is. Faith is only that I have right now and nobody will ever take it away from me.

In light of that, my heart is full of gratitude to everyone who showed their love, concern and been our prayer warriors since day one and never get tired of storming the heaven with their petitions. You somehow ease our pains and worries. Your uplifting words makes this battle bearable. May our God continue to bless your heart.

We will continue to praise you God no matter what this situation will bring us.

ABOUNDING GRACE

As children, we often take for granted the many years that

you have done for us. For all the love and care that we have received from you. So much memories of childhood that we maybe already forgotten but you all have counted and treasured them one by one. It’s all precious to you. Those sleepless nights, the countless times you have sacrificed for us, our first steps, our first words and even our first achievements are all just like yesterdays to you. You all remembered them vividly. And will always put a smile in your face whenever you remembered them one by one, I have so many things I want to tell you, things that will speaks of my gratitude and love for you. But since it is your anniversary , I want to take this chance to thank you or appreciate you.

Thank you for always preparing delicious meal for us, for always providing our table with blessings and that no matter how simple it is, it’s always delicious and delectable.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Today, the world is celebrating the International Women’s Day. So many campaigns and protests are going on fighting for gender equality and rights. Taking every platform to be heard and to be recognized. To let the world known that women like men have their own place here on earth too.

With all these things happening now, I was reminded that in the 1^st place when God created the earth and created Adam, He knows something is missing. Something is not right. He knows that His creations will be more beautiful and satisfying, so He put Adam asleep.

It was only after Eve’s creation that God expressed satisfaction and said not only that all His creation was good but actually, “it was very good” (Genesis 1:31).

As a woman, I am deeply humbled to think that while all these things are good and perfect in the sight of the Lord, only when He put a woman in the middle of the paradise, that is the only time He realized that everything was extremely good.

Just like any artist, before he will be finally satisfied with his art, he has to check every small details to see if something is missing or something is not right on his masterpiece. God as our author and finisher, He made woman to complete the world. She is the glorious end, the finishing touch of a majestic creation. Woman is God’s last stroke to finish His masterpiece.

Women are not only precious in the eyes of the Lord but we are important also. We play a vital and important role in this world we live in. Our existences complete this world and everything that is within here.

God created us for a divine purpose. God created, molded and made us perfect for His glory. He created us not only to be an adornment but our purpose is interconnected with the needs of this world.

Salute to every women who dedicates their life to the wellness and welfare of many. Those women who makes this world still a better place to live in and willing to go far beyond their calling. Those women who have touched the lives of others and serves as an inspiration to make a difference. Those women whose love for others cannot be compared, that despite of their brokenness they are willing to love others unconditionally. You are the living proof that God’s creations were extremely perfect.

So next time you think that being a woman has no place in this world. Think it again. Remember that God did not think so. You are perfectly and wonderfully made by the greatest Creator of all time. Your life speaks of God’s greatness. You are His perfect masterpiece.

MY BIRTHDAY PRAYER

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for another year. I thank You for allowing me to see, to hear and experience Your goodness everyday. I’m blessed because I have a forgiving, loving and faithful God. Though sometimes I overlooked Your goodness upon my life but still You never failed to bless me. You sustain me with everything and you prosper me far beyond my imagination. With you my life is indeed perfect and beautiful.

Help me to start this year with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day; help me to hear more from You Lord, help me to broaden my mind and faith that I can accept all things You have planned for me. Bless me with Your wisdom and knowledge that I can share for Your glory. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.

Like a tree planted and deeply rooted by the living water in You, I will not be anxious even in drought. But I will stay green and fruitful, no matter what the situation is. Give me the faith to be bold and courageous.

Be with me Lord to give the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be also a blessing to others. Bless the works of my hands and extend my territory so that through me , people will know that you are my God. That through me it is You that they will see.

Thank you for my family, friends and every people who loves me unconditionally. That despite of my shortcomings they never give up on me. They accept me without hesitations and love me without asking for anything in return. Open the flood gates of heaven and let them received equally a double portion of blessing upon their lives.

Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. Grant me wisdom to make godly decisions that really makes a difference. Use me, let my life make a difference, for You and Your kingdom.

I pray that I will stand victorious till the very end and that those every eye that will be able to read this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You, Lord Jesus. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I give You back all the glory that You alone deserve, You are most glorious .I am not worthy of everything but still you called my Your Beloved.

As we rejoice with you for another year God has given you, allow me to say my prayer for you. As you keep on growing each day and being so far from you , there's nothing I can do but to keep on praying for you.

I pray that you know you are loved, a love that surpasses any understanding, a love that knows no limit, a love that even the height nor the depth cannot be measured.

I pray that your heart hears the truth and only the truth and it sink in the innermost core of your heart, where it will be rooted and flourish. For nothing else can replace the beautiful truth that you are loved by God, who knows you even before you were born. For He is the One who knit you beautifully in your mother's womb. He loves you more than anyone.

I pray that you know how much we love you, we treasure and adore you. You brought us with so much love and happiness. You fill our hearts with so much joy and laughters. I pray that we'll become your safer place , that no matter how violent and how wild and how dangerous the outside world will be , be known that we are your safe refuge.

I pray that you choose mercy, pour out compassion, seek honesty and uphold integrity. I pray that you live with passion and never forget the miraculous privilege of your calling, that you are a daughter of the King Most High and you are His beloved. You are co- heir of Christ and the vastness and grandeurs of heaven is yours, my dear.

I pray that you know how beautiful you are, not because of your form or your frame but because of the light that is within you. The Lord has created you and He calls you apple of His eyes. You are His beloved.

As you grow older and wiser, the world will measure your worth by what is wrapped up on your body, your beauty or your brain. Always keep in mind that you are worthy not because of who you are but because of whom you belong. You are for Him and He has a wonderful and beautiful plan for you, long before you were born. You are beyond anything this world could ever offer. So, when the world is calling you with all its lie and half truth and tries to steal your joy, please, please, please remember these truth.

I pray you have dreams and aspirations that can't be contained by logic or reasons. I pray that you won't be afraid to fail or fall and when you make mistakes (certainly you will) I pray that you find forgiveness and grace in the process. When you tried to reached for the moon and stars but instead you face flat on the solid ground or you tried to wheeled a bicycle for the very 1st time and you were outbalanced and wounded yourself, it hurts, the fall always hurts and when that happens, don't be afraid to cry, crying will not make you weak, cried out your pain but then reach out to find the everlasting arms that will lift you up.

I pray that you never lose your sense of wonders, never cease to see the beauty unfolding around you. I pray that the mountains steal your breath and the oceans fill your souls, let the sands buried your little toes , waterfalls wash away your fears and your eyes be awed of God's incredible goodness. Let your little feet leads you to the very edge of the earth and may you be amaze on the vastness of God's creation that He created for you. The earth is yours, conquer and enjoy it.

So many pages lies before you unwritten, so many pages to filled with wonderful memories. Don't be afraid to enjoy life. Don't be afraid to reach even the unreachable star. Life is a gift and you are my dear, are the sweetest gift.

Thankyou 2016 and Welcome 2017

2016 is about to end. Thus the beginning of 2017 will began. We begin to send new year's greeting on our respective social media accounts. Wishing everyone a bountiful and happy 2017.

As I looked back on what 2016 brought me. It reminds me of how God has been so faithful to me. On how He answered many of my silent prayers and on how He taught me so much things. Amidst of all of my failures, my worriness and my unending complains, He never leaves me and never forgotten me. He assured to me that everything will be in place and everything is under His control.

2016 allowed me to experience the goodness and greatness of His creation through travelling. He let me experienced and see places that I thought I wont be able to visit. He showed me the vastness of His works and the grandeur of His creations. He let me see the glimpse of what heaven looks like. Indeed 2016 is a blessed year. And looking forward for a grandious 2017. Ready to received all the blessings and ready to take the battle that will come on the way.

I pray that the coming year will bring unending joy, unsurpasses happiness and abounding love to you and your family. May the Lord will keep you throughout the coming year.

FLAT TIRE

Yesterday , on our way home from office , we noticed that Mitsu's rear tire was flat. I immediately bring the car to the petrol station to refill the air, as Im driving I tried to recall what had caused my flat tire. As much as possible I try to avoid parking along the sandy area or in kachara parking as to avoid sharp and pointed objects get into the tires. Sometimes bad things happened even though how careful we are. And also sometimes these circumstances will some how teach us some lessons that we will never forget.

As I reach the petrol station and finished refilling the air, the staff there checked the tire and find nothing that makes the tire deflated. It was only this morning when we are about to go to work , we saw a bolt stacked on the rubber that caused the deflation.

Then I remembered: God is so good, at all time.

He never allowed this to happen during the Eid holiday, wherein we are in the road for almost every day during the week long holiday. What if we get deflated on our way to Fujairah? Or when we are in the middle of Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai? Or when we are in nowhere looking for the shortest route going to Last Exit Food Truck Station? I am risking not only my life, but the life of my friends as well.

But , then, God is always good. He always protect. He never want His children to get harm, to be in trouble. He is always in control of everything.

In our life, we often experience having a spiritual flat tire. Life's unexpected instances that could be in the form of job challenges, relationship conflicts, financial issues, death of loves ones and illnesses that flattens us and released whatever energy left in us. It may be a disaster at first but in the end it will redirect our lives in a meaningful way.

God will never leave us. He is always good every time and in everything. All we need to do is to keep our faith in Him. Just like a flat tire getting fixed after, He will patched every small and big holes of our life and will refill us with His Spirit, so that when we're back on the road again, we are sure that our journey will be smooth and safe, no matter how bumpy and roughly the roads ahead of us. We will reach our destination safety and without blemish.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

ATHLETICS 2016

If you were in UAE, summer months especially August is your best hate month because of the soaring temperature reaching up to 52 degrees celsius. This is the time of month were in the you want to leave the country and be in a place where in the weather will refreshes you. But for us Friday school teachers ( Sunday School teachers for others), this is the time of the year we are excited to come (True? teachers :) ). Why? not because the kids are few, but because this is the month for our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). A 2 whole day of fun filled activities, singing, dancing, playing and learning more about our Savior Jesus Christ. This year, we have held our VBS last Aug 12-13, 2016 at Crystal Plaza Hotel. This is my 9th year of VBS in this country and each year's experience are always memorable and exciting. This is also the year wherein I tried to assist in toddler class ,usually I prepared the higher level, because I think my patience is not as elastic as rubber band. I do love kids but dealing with them the whole day with all kinds of tantrums is another story.

VBS theme for this year is all about being an athlete (Hebrews 12:1b). Each one of us has its own race that are set before us and we are expected to finish the race no matter how hard and difficult it will be along the way. God commanded us to Fight the Good fight, Finish the Race and Keep the Faith. As an athlete there are 5 athletic qualities that all of us must also possessed, Discipline, Focus, Endurance, Teamwork and Confidence.

1. Focus - Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything , counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ ( Philippians 3:8 NLT).

An athlete should focus mainly to one goal, that is to get the prize. Focus is the quality that all athletes need to have. They should set their minds on their goals and do everything they can to achieve it. They do not look at their opponents, on the judges, on the spectators but instead they keep their eyes on the target, on the finish line. Moses is a good example for this attitude. He was a prince who gave up his high position and all the treasures of his kingdom because he fixed his attention on something that is more important, more valuable than all the riches of the whole world.

But then distraction is the primary obstacle of an athlete. Competing in a game is not measured on how you started the game but on how you played during the game. Same with us, upon reaching the finish line, God will not asked us on what kind of life we have, but on how we live our life along our journey. Let us not be distracted on what is happening around us but instead , let us always keep our eyes on Jesus , the author and finisher of our faith. Let always be reminded that what we have here on earth is nothing compare to the treasures that awaits us in heaven.

2. Discipline - Therefore , since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. (Hebrews 12:1 NIV).

A disciplined athlete is a victorious athlete. An athlete whose competing in a game, may he be a runner, swimmer , boxer or a gymnast undergone a strict training and discipline before the competition. They follow certain strict diets, training and exercises in order for them to be strong and fit. They give up the comfort they have in exchange of the gold prize after the competition. As Christian athletes we too are expected to be strong and fit but not only physically but most importantly, we should be fit spiritually. Continuous reading of His words, praying unceasingly, faithful tithing, not giving up meeting together are some of those discipline that we have to endure.

With the story of Achan, God had commanded the Israelite to destroy the entire city of Jericho because of its great sin, He also commanded them not to take anything from Jericho. He warned then that bringing anything would lead the whole camp in destruction and whoever found guilty will be liable for that. The Israelites obeyed, except for Achan, he stole beautiful robes, some gold and silver and hid all these things in his tent. His sin was discovered, of course (Numbers 32:23) and God commanded Achan and his entire family including all his animals to be stoned to death. Sin hinders us from continuing the race. It entangles on us that limits our movement and later on crippled us. But if we will look to Jesus alone and fixed our eyes in Him, we will be sure that even though sins keep on blocking our way, Jesus will be always be near us to help us to run through every obstacle that will come along our way.

3. Endurance -Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

You will know a good runner not on how fast he was in the starting point, but on how fast he will become to reach the finish line. We have seen a lot of runner who are very fast after the gun shot but are left behind in the middle of the race. Or we know people who makes resolutions then stop when it gets uncomfortable. Some stop working on their task and leave them undone. When difficulty comes, when they have to deal with difficulties, when its becomes painful, they become shortsighted. They see everything blurred immediately and focus on the present pain instead of the future gain.

Jesus knew before hand that His greatest mission was to be the sacrificial Lamb of God. The One who will take away the sins of the world. He can refuse it if he wants to but still he chose to come to the earth and die in a shameful manner for us to gain the beautiful life in heaven. In the last hours before He was arrested, He went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray with His disciples, He knew the ordeal that He will going through, but still He surrendered to the will of God. After He prayed , Jesus found His disciple asleep instead of praying with Him. Not long ago, He was arrested. He faced the betrayal of one of His disciple, the mocking of the people, the painful crown of thorns, the spits on this face, being nailed on the cross and died, but He bore them all. If we will weigh the hardship that He went through, it's not even close to an inch to what we are suffering right now. As we face our present hardship, remember we are not alone on this battle because our Heavenly Father will strengthen us as we surrender our life to Jesus Christ, who faced and endured the worst for our sake.

4. Teamwork - And let us consider how may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24

Teamwork allows us to do things with others that would take a lot of time, effort and energy if we will do it by our own. Teamwork allows us to gather more ideas, support and build trust and mutual encouragement with each other. Teamwork isn't a new concept. Even during early days. Team work was first originated by God when He formed the earth thru the help of the Son and Holy Spirit. Among are Adam and Eve, Moses and Joshua, Paul and Silas, Peter and John and of course Jesus and His disciple. They worked hand in hand, and face every hardship together, for one common goal - To glorify and give honor to God. In the story of Paul, he spent his time with the couple Priscilla and Aquila in making tents and in the same way sharing about Jesus. The three of them traveled to Ephesus as a team until such time Paul left them and headed on His own journey. By then, the couple are teaming with Apollos, though he was an educated man, he was humble enough to listen and take instruction from the couple. When we join God's family , we become one team, and as one body. We work together in harmony to fulfill and accomplish God's plan for everyone.

5. Confidence- I have fought the good fight of faith. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness. 2 Timothy 4:7-8a.

The life of an athlete is not easy, he will endure everything for him to be fit to compete and win the gold. The apostle Paul was very much familiar with the concept of suffering because he himself experienced it. He endured the pain of being hated by his own people. It was not easy. Growing up he enjoyed the respect of his people because of his exceptional knowledge of the Law. But by following Jesus he risked everything he had. He also endured death. They arrested him and even put to jail because of his conviction - to proclaim the truth about the resurrection of Jesus, His Master. Yet in spite of everything Paul's faith did not waiver. He endured everything because He know that Jesus equipped him not only to the ministry but also to all the sufferings he will get through. He is confident that if he will stick on the plan that Jesus prepared for him , he will finish the race triumphantly. Paul was able to finish well the race because he had eternity in his mind. He is fully sure of that the temporary pain and suffering that he need to endure while on earth were insignificant compared to the eternal rewards that awaits with him in heaven with Jesus. Same with us, Jesus promised us a heavenly reward for those who love and serve Him faithfully.

It may be tiring but at the end of the day, it's always brings us so much joy, knowing that we are imparting with these children, the Good News, that Jesus loves us and He died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, He then rose again, returned to heaven prepared a place for us and promised that we will be with Him together in eternity.

All the hardship and all the preparations are worth it because we know that our labor will not be in vain. And in the end we have the confidence that we have finished the race well.

Dear self,

Hi how are you? I hope you were fine? I hope you have a wonderful day today. You know what these past few days, I noticed that you're always in a bad mood, you're always irritated and complained too much for little things, you are stressing yourself on those things that you don’t have any control of, you are putting so much pressure on people that doesn’t meet your standards especially on those people around you and worked with you every day. You know what, don’t get mad at me, but its look like you are creating a little monster inside of you. You are creating yourself into someone that you are supposed not to be. Someone you don’t want to be. Remember the times when your

superior is scolding you for some mistakes that was not your fault, you're always telling me that when time comes that you have to have your own business, you will never let your people experienced what you have been through, I think you are doing the same pattern as early as now. You are being harsh on people when they failed to do their job as per your requirements and expectations. You raised your voice so easily that it's like you're always angry. Please be reminded that there were never be any one like you. Don't expect too much. You failed to be a blessing to them, you failed to treat them the way they should be treated, with utmost love and respect. You failed to embrace them with the love of Christ but instead you put stubbornness and hatred on their heart. This is not you, I have known you fully well that I have noticed even the slightest changes in you. You have a good heart but sometimes you failed to show that to others, you put an invisible walls between you and others so that it's very hard for them to see the goodness in you, it's hard for them to penetrate into your inner being and they think that you are nothing but a snob and a person who doesn't care at all. But you know , YOU ARE NOT . Every night when you are praying, you asked God to make you a blessings to other, that you could able to touch people lives even in the smallest things you do. You want you be an inspiration to others. But sometimes people misinterpret you, sometimes people think you as a threat and not as an ally. But hey, but it doesn’t mean that you need to be like that. Because you are not, in case you have forgotten, let me remind you, you are perfectly and wonderfully made. Just like the wild flowers in the garden , your beauty may not be recognized easily, maybe because you were covered by thorns and weeds all over you. But once , those some brave people, removed all those hindrances in your body, they will see a beauty that was polished by time. You are a perfect manifestation of God's unending love to the universe. You are one of His well loved creation. You are priceless and precious. There's so much beauty in you. Maybe not everyone see that, but it does not make you a lesser person. You are surrounded by people whose love for you is true and genuine. Whose love for you is more than a skin deep. Whose love for you goes beyond words, beyond your imperfection, beyond what you can give to them, more so beyond your capacity . They love you for who you are, the same way God loves you tremendously. His love for you enable Him to give His life and to die on the cross for you. The greatest and perfect love any person could ever had. So cheer up and smile , don’t allow yourself be consumed of too much stress and pressure because you are not destined to be like that. God created you with a purpose and for a reason. You are loved. Don’t get mad at me, ok? I'm just being true to you. Because God said in His word, "Better is open rebuke than hidden love" (Proverbs 27:5). I love you that much , that it gives me courage to speak truthfully to you. Looking forward for more good of you. And if ever you slip out of the path again, expect a letter from me immediately.

HOW ARE YOU TODAY?

How are you today? the same question that I received every single day of my working hours. It may be a morning greeting from my colleagues or from my boss or just a simple phrase to start a conversation. Oftentimes, I just answered it with a plain "I'm fine" or " I'm good" without really meaning it. No glance or emotion at all. Admit it or not we do that because we just want people or that certain person to think that we are ok, that everything goes well with us eventhough sometimes it is not. Or its also our way of ending any further conversation with them.

But before I answer that question with sincerity, let me indulge a little bit of what that happened this past months. This year is really a great year for me. Too many unexpected and overwhelming blessings poured out upon me and my family. Most of them are answered prayers and some are reality of my dreams. Who ever think that those little childhood dreams of mine eventually became reality. Those promises that I uttered long time ago were fulfilled. Those wishful thinking are no longer wishes but became evident of what we can do and achieve. But most especially knowing that there is special Someone who despite of all my flaw and weaknesses still love me. Knowing that I am precious in His sight is more than enough. With Him I can face each new day with hope and joy even when things dont go the way I want them to be; with Him I have peace that no one can take it away from me; I am victorious in every challenges that I will face because He said , it is finished.

So, how am I today? Hmmmm, as I look into your eyes while holding and sipping my cup of coffee, I can say it to you with sincerity that I am blessed and happy, though a little pain in my shoulder blade due to driving but Im doing great. Today I woke up with full of gratitude in my heart because God gave me another day again. Today, is a gift. A miracle from above. Another day to see the beauty and wonders of His creation. Another day to be blessing to others. Or maybe an answer to someone's prayer.

I imagine that as you read this you are smiling, maybe with a little nod or you're grinning from ear to ear. Believing that everyday is a fulfillment of God's many unfold blessings and promises to us. That each new day is a manifestation that we are love by Him. Each new day is a promise that no matter how hard life will be, we are not alone. Each new day is His way of telling us that the beautiful future ahead of us is just a few steps away. Now, its my turn to ask you "How are you today? . I hope you have a great one.

Many people now a days don’t know or let’s say they already forgotten how to keep their words. They often disregard what they promised to you. Their yes today, will be no by tomorrow, or their no today ,will be yes in a couple of days, it depends on their mood and circumstances.

During older days, words are bonded with just trust and handshake, they don’t need any written contract or tape recorder to make their statement authentic and true. If they say they're going to do something , they will do it no matter what it takes.

To keep your word ,means you can be trusted. People who keep their words are seen as trustworthy. To keep your word means others believe that you are reliable. People value their integrity much more as they value themselves.

Honoring one's word does not only applies to corporate or business world alone, but also in our everyday life as well. I am also guilty of this topic, most of the times I commit myself on some appointments and at the last minute I backed out because I think it will not create a big fuss on that, or promise something and totally forget all about it. but I was wrong. People see and judge you not only on what you do but also on every words that you uttered. The Bible said "Honor God in everything you do" and that’s include our words. So how I will honor God if I always failed to keep my promises. Our words is sacred. Our words defines who we are. And our words speak our relationship with others.

Every time we speak, we create a road. A road that will lead people to trust or not to trust you. The quality of the road and how far it goes, will be directly related on how well we maintain our integrity with our words.

For the past week, I have been fighting off different kind of viruses and bacteria my body had accumulated. Change weather really doesn’t suits me. I have sniffles, hard cough, slight to medium head ache and a slight fever at night. This virus really stricken me a lot. I spent a long week vacation at home nursing myself. Not been able to attend church activities and meetings just to avoid spreading virus. Yet I still managed to go to work. Even though how embarrassing my cough is. I don’t have any choice but to let it out. Yes I know I was supposed to stay at home and take rest, I should think of my health first before anything or anyone . But sometimes I can't help but to think the other way around. We often times think of others sake first before our own. And sometimes it hurts us if those people doesn't appreciate our effort, especially our bosses, our earthly master. Even if you give all your best to them, still they wanting more from you. Your best is not the best for them. In the end of the day still your productivity and the outcome of your work still matters. You have to do everything and anything to satisfy them. To prove them that you are worthy of your position and salary they are paying you. We may have this kind of earthy master in our life now but still am glad that my heavenly master is far more different from them. He cares for me a lot. He loves me. He is concern about me. He even treat me as a friend and not as a filthy and low servant. And what is more special is that I am His son co -heir of His kingdom. He is my king and I am His princess. He loves me so much even to the point of letting His son died on the cross to redeemed me from the slavery of sin. What more can I ask for? I have found a great treasure, far more valuable than gold and silver.

We may get tired and oftentimes get discouraged on the way our earthly master treated us. Sometime we like to give up, packed our things and go back home. Sometimes we utter bad words behind their back. We want to curse them and desire bad things for them. But what stopping us from doing those things is the excitement and joy it brings knowing our heaven master loves us. There is ONE powerful being that can change simple things into something extra ordinary.

Don’t lose heart…everything will be fine.

strength in hard times

We all have our times in the sun, on the summit and at our best. During those times we are at bliss. We dance and laugh as there were no tomorrow. But we have also our hard times. Times in the valley, days in the wilderness, when our best laid plans fall apart, when someone we love leave us or when our trusted friend betrayed us. Life invites us in an entirely different direction. To the untrained eyes, these are "bad times", but to the warrior these are life's richest times of growth, opportunity and possibility. This is the time where your faith will be tested. The time where we don’t know whom to hold on but to God alone. The time when even the slightest ray of sun is like a wild fire to us.

I had a little conversation with my aunt today because my mother informed me 2 weeks ago that my cousin will have to undergo operation because someone hit him in the eyes and which might cause him to loss his vision. Work and personal things consumed me so much that I hadn't the time to asked her or even send her comforting message that everything will be alright, just only now at this very moment, when I don’t know out of nowhere someone whispered me to grab my phone and hit a message for her.

I know how she feels, we are in the same situation, we are far from our family, far from those people who will truly understand what we're going through. It's hard to see your love one suffering from something that they don’t deserve. It's hard to live each day knowing that you cannot do anything to lessen their pain but to pray for them and begging God to open the gates of heaven and send miracle for them.

Kneeling to pray is the only thing that keeps us strong. Kneeling will allow us to stand again and keep on holding the faith that someday everything will be fine again, because every difficulty of our life whether big or small , is something God will use to produce more strength, faith and perseverance in us if we will let Him. Kneeling to God assures us that we are not alone in this battle, we may be weak but we will come out again stronger and braver than before. All our pain has a purpose and definitely for our own good.

Tomorrow will be a brand new day again.

But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength . 2 Timothy 4:17

A TRUE FRIENDSHIP

Sometimes we think that if knew someone for a very long time or we've been with that person throughout our lives , we knew everything about him. That we are able to understand and accept whatever flaws and characters we have. That even though we are hard to deal with because of our different personality, they will still accept and love us . But sometimes it's not that enough. You cannot measure by the time of years the level and depth of friendship you have. Even though you have build your dreams together and even promise that you will be friends for life, still it's not a guarantee that friendship will last. There are friends that who will be there for you, only when you are happy, when you have something to give, when you do things that pleases them. But still will leave you instantly, in a snap of a finger, when you just need from them is just a little understanding.

I have seen different kind of friendships and some of them I'd witness how it was falling apart with no reason at all. Just because they don’t want to understand each other, because they don’t want to sacrifice just a piece of their pride for their friends. Their ego eats them little by little and they are too blind to see the suffering their friend is going through because of them. They think nothing but themselves, their comfort, their wants and their demands. They don't care if someone is crying every night because of them. They don’t care if someone is losing so much of himself because of them. They don’t care if someone is losing a family because of them because they are his family. They don’t care at all as long as they are happy.

You will distinguished a true friend in every season of your life. Someone who will be there for you when you are happy, who will celebrate with you in all your achievements and victories in life but most specially who will be there for you when your world is falling apart. He will be your cheer leader, your companion and your greatest fan, someone who will still believe in you when nobody does. He will understand you and everything that you're going through and will never judge nor condemn you for all the mistakes that you have done. He will be the saddest if you are sad. The one who will shield you from any arrows of life. The one who will give all his strength in order for you to stand up again and move on. Someone who will assure you that the world is still beautiful and there are many so wonderful things waiting for you to see.

Life is full of battles, full of heartaches , full of misery but what it makes so beautiful are those people still who love and accept us in spite of our imperfection, of our flaws, of our shortcoming. Those people who truly knew us and believe in us. And in the end of the day you have nothing but thanksgiving to the Creator for creating them and putting them into your life as a reminder that though there are some who choose to leave you but they are still plenty who choose to stay and continue the journey with you. Indeed , you are still blessed.

There is no greatest love a person can give for his friend than to lay down his life for them (John 15:13).

naalala ko tuloy ang sabi ng aking ama…

kung sa bahay at patakaran ko'y di ka masaya…

sa halip na magreklamo at mamuna ka…

malaya ka, pumili ng sarili mong tadhana…

sana'y wag tayong matulad ke Juan…

maging mapagpasalamat….

sa anumang meron ka…

bawat tayo'y mahalaga sa mata ng ating Ama…

kaya't iwasan mamuna ng iba…

lagi nating tandaan…

mundo'y hindi natin tahanan…
tayo'y manlalakbay lamang…

darating ang oras atin itong iiwan…

sa mga bilang na sandali ng ating buhay…

gawing pagpapala ang iyong buhay…

dahil sa yong paglisan…

hindi naman kung anung meron ka ang matatandaan…

kundi kung sino at ano ka nung ikaw ay nabubuhay…

panalanging ko sa lahat ng makakabasa nito…

magpasalamat at makuntento…

sa biyayang bigay sa yo…

ang buhay ay tiyak at maiikli…

wag itong sayangin…

sa walang kwentang reklamo't simtimyento…

This year I didn't wish for anything else for myself, but still God has blessed me with so much more than I think I ever deserve, Its more than the material blessing , it is an intangible blessings. He gave me the gifts of family, friends and relationships. He surround me with people who have been a channel of blessings to me and allowing me to see a glimpse of heaven because of them, some of them unfortunately come and stay for a while yet leave lasting lesson that I will carry on for life while others definitely sure will be with me throughout my lifetime. But life is not always smooth and straight sometimes along my way there are people who misjudged me ,doubted my capabilities, sometimes utter bad things about me, they even manipulate other people to believe that am are the bad one but it is still the power and protection of God that shield and protect me from them and I thank God for teaching me understand things that is beyond my thinking.

Thank you for those who have been with me through this year's journey, you have seen my ups and downs, my joys and sorrows, my dreams and apprehensions, my strengths and weaknesses. You have made my 2014 something to be remembered for , I become wiser, stronger and happier because of all of you. There's still a long journey ahead for the coming 2015 and I expecting that you will still be all part of it.

Prayers really do answered and wishes do come true. It may not come as much as we want too but in the end its worth waiting for. Ànd what we are right now is the true manifestation of that.

As you celebrate another year of life and love I pray nothing but what your heart's desire. another year, to savor life to the fullest and continue exploring life. May God abundantly blessed you (both tangible and intangible), so that you can aways be a blessing to others. You have touch so many lives because of your kindness, generosity, and unselfish love and thats what I admire most about you.

For these past few months you have been my constant companion, my comforter, my listener, the reason of my every smile. To you I was able to show off the real me without hesitation, without even thinking of judging me. Thank you for allowing me to enter and be part of your life. Thank you for all the laughter, for your care and your love.

You're one of the most precious blessings that I ever have and I'll be forever thankful to God for allowing me to know you and share life with you.
