God Blessed Our Dinner Tonight

GOD BLESSED OUR DINNER TONIGHT!!!! We were so happy for a free dinner..

Me, my wife and my mom were deciding so hard on wat to order on meals from the menu so we could save.. Ang dami kasi namin.. And suddenly came up with a meal that would let us save for about 500 pesos. When our orders were served on the table, we asked my wife to lead the prayer aloud so the persons from the other edge of the table could hear the prayer.

My wife thanked God for a lot of things na napahaba yung prayer nya. I was thinking, gutom na ako!!! Ok na yan!!! And after she prayed, I told her, "why is it too long?" With a joke tone. Ha ha my wife just answered "I was just thankful". Then we continued and enjoyed the meal.. When Isaw a man (foreigner) going to1 of the supervisor near the cashier and I said to my wife, magbabayad sya bakit sya talaga yung pumunta sa cashier? My wife just answered, baka hindi sya pinapansin ng waiter.. When the man came back to his table, I realized, the waiters and supervisors were smiling sabay tingin sa amin habang kumakain. And I just said na parang weird yata to ah. Both foreigners already leave their table behind us habang kumakain pa kami.And all the staff from the restaurant were thanking them so hard with a big smile (not a regular thank you). Weird na talaga..

After we ate, my mom asked the waiter for the bill, the waiter whispered that our bill were already paid by the two foreigners behind us leaving a message, " ROMANS 1:16 "THANK YOU FOR NOT BEING ASHAMED OF YOUR FAITH" My mom quickly said, "THANK YOU LORD".. HUMANITY restored by God.. God bless those two people.. We were truly inspired!!!

I will never ever complain for a long prayer. That was a joke though, haha.

PRAY as loud as we can so people could hear and be inspired. Thank you.

Today marks my 13th anniversary here in Qatar. A chapter in my life where home and work environment was far more different than before. I don't want to tell you stuff about my job, how much I like it (sometimes not), how my work environment is, how my past and present colleagues are, and so on...

I always compare Qatar to the Philippines before like it’s kinda safer here, kundi sobrang init e sobra naman lamig at kung anik-anik pa… Basta isip ko lang na as an OFW for as long as I can work here, I can provide and finance our needs and wants, and able to help my family back home kaya GO! GO! GO kaya ko to’!

Isa sa pinakamasaya at laging kong pinakahihintay as an OFW every month ang SMS galing sa BANK na nagsasabing..."Your salary is credited to your bank account"... 😍 Same feeling as txt ng BF mo na kahit minsan lang ang makaalala mangamusta pero HEAVEN ang feelings! Yan message na yan ang nag aalis nghirap, pagod at inis! hahahaha!

I also said before 5 years lang basta makaipon! Typical mindset ng mga OFW ung basta makaipon para makapagpagawa ng sariling bahay + kunting ipon OK na pwede ng umuwi at mag for good. YUN DIN ANG AKALA KO! 😁

Sakto 5 years nakapagpagawa kami ng bahay at higit sa lahat dumating si Juric sa buhay namin! May bahay na diba so, OK na ba un uwian na?! Ooooppssss… Di pa rin kasi need mag-ipon para sa future ni Juric mahal ang milk, diapers, vitamins, medical check-ups, tuition fees at pano pag nagturo pa yan sa grocery? O kaya pag sinabi na nyang “I’M HUNGRY KAIN TAYO, tapos minsan sasabihan ka pa sa video chat ng ”NANAY BILHAN MO KO NG CELPHONE KASI LUMA NA TAB KO GUSTO KO IPHONE..” Imagine 7 yrs old IPHONE ang gusto! Alam nya kayang kami ng tatay nya walang iphone??? So ayun nga hanggang saan kaya aabot ang savings mo?! Hahahaha! 😆😭😳

But wait there’s more… pag tuwing magbabakasyon kami sa pinas mahirap umalis-alis na magcocommute lang kawawa naman si Juric maiinitan sa byahe (korek! Sya rin ang dahilan kung bakit kami bumili ng sasakyan)

Aside from this, being an OFW I'm proud to say na kahit papaano marami na rin naman kaming natulungan ibang tao… 😎

So un po mga ang reason why until now andito pa rin ako (kami) sa Qatar. If until when? Hanggang kakayanin siguro and I thank you! ☺️

Sa mga akala na mayaman na po ako kasi 13 yrs na ko here hindi po baon rin po ako (kami) sa utang! Kaya ung may mga may utang dyan ALEM NE THIS BEKE NEMEN!

It does need a lot of patience and understanding. Fighting is normal as long as it don't end in hurting each other. Anger is a healthy emotion as long as you both know how to accept your mistakes, apologize and move on.

A healthy relationship can speak honestly with each other, no lies, no secrets. Marriage is give and take, both need to help around the house no matter how busy each other in their job. Don't stop surprising each other, small or big thing can be a surprise everyday. We don't need an anniversary or occasion to show love with each other. Everyday can be a special day for the partners. It is normal to be abnormal once in a while. Keep things fun by making your partner laugh and feel love with your natural act like silly song and dance.

If you have any of these things, your relationship will last for a long time.

Burnt Movie Review

“Burnt” is a story of a young Chef’s relapse and recovery. After 3 years of out of work, Chef Adam (Bradley Cooper) returned to Paris and was determined to have the best restaurant in the world.

He started building up his dream kitchen brigade by hiring old friends and enemies. Tony (Bruhl), hands over his present fine-dining establishment to Adam, Sous chef Michel (Omar Sy), Italian ex-con Max (Riccardo Scamarcio), Reece (Matthew Rhys). He also hires new crew Helene (Sienna Miller), chef de partie and David (Sam Keeley).

Chef Adam is a perfectionist when it comes to food preparation. He scolds his fellow chefs for not meeting his standards, “If it’s not perfect, you throw it away!” He is one of the very gifted man behaving very badly. He throw tantrums, smashes plates if his staff did not meet his expectation. He only cares about the thrill of creating explosions of taste, to turn a decent meal into something truly memorable, and mind-blowing. And of course, the fancy dishes and desserts needs a restaurant critic, played by Uma Thurman.

The movie showed how demanding and nerve- wracking the culinary world is. It captures the energy of the chefs inside the professional kitchen. It shows how food had been prepared and cooked to create a superb meal. We learned that the best chefs aren't just great with a knife and passion for cooking, but also have a lot of patience and determination to run a successful restaurant. As a culinary arts student, I can relate to the pressure in the kitchen and of course the “Yes Chef.” All in all, the movie is entertaining and well-acted.

Everybody knows the importance of saving but actually doing it is still a very difficult task for most Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). OFW families tend to over spend for may reasons. To make the task of saving easier, here are some money-saving tips that you may want to follow.

Pay yourself first. After receiving your salary, before buying anything or paying the bill, set aside 10% of the money for savings. Put up bank account where this money will be kept as a savings for future business or investment. Every payday and do this right after receiving your salary.

Acquire property. It doesn't matter how big or small it is. If you don't have cash money to pay in full, one way is to pay it in terms or installment plan. There are a lot of properties affordable to OFWs. Monthly payments depend on how much you can afford it. Instead of spending money monthly on vices or things that we really not needed why not set aside money for monthly payment. After years, you have something you can be proud of from your hard work abroad.

Invest in gold jewelry. Gold is one the oldest, and most consistent investment of all in the history of humanity. If you can afford to buy in bulk and pay in cash basis, one way is to pay in installment plan. Find someone who offers this installment services with small interest. Gold increase in value and is the investment of choice around the world for those who are preparing for a rainy day.

Spend less. Watch your spending habits by buying only what you need and not what you want. Learn to recognize the difference between need and want. Spend the basic necessities but not totally deny yourself of luxuries. The key to saving money is minimizing spending and living below your means.

Avoid vices. Starting a vice such as drinking,smoking and gambling is not only addictive and
expensive; it can also ruin your physical and mental health. Vices can cause not only financial problem, but emotional and health problem as well.

Dear OFW: Think About Yourself Too

Dear OFW:

I am a Dutch man, I understand your culture, and tradition, and many times I feel sorry, for OFW, far away from home, from family, dear ones. So many times, I hear a OFW returns to home, after a long years of sacrifise. Sending most all they earn home, to help family. I do not criticise, but, what makes me sad, is that many OFW come home, without ever saving one peso for themselves, all went to the family, or others...

I know a OFW personaly, 8 years OFW sending all her earnings home, even works extra work, to even sent more, and...................she dont want to go home, because her family then EVEN expects she comes home with many presents and bags full of money. She has such a lonely life, and cries when others sleep. In some cases the family have business like a rice farm the OFW provides all the financial needs for instance for a rice field but never gets to hear how much was the outcome of the proceeds of the harvest. I feel they have right to know how much money it brought and how that money will be spent if the family don't informed them they do not respect the sacrifice of the OFW it even makes me feel they got cheated and taken for granted.

Yes I understand culture, parents have kids, that will work for them, thats good, but also in western world we have kids out of love and don't expect them, to sacrifise the rest of their lives to support us parents. I do know the difference between rich and poor, dont misunderstand me.

Sad enough, some people at home, cannot handle money, dont know how to invest it well, the money is wasted, or loaned to others, who cannot even pay it back.

I know that from a very good friend, sending all home, in hope it will be saved for her in the bank, returning home after 5 years, not one peso for her.......she hang herselff. Sometimes the own family dont even care, if a OFW has to work far from home, as long as the money comes.......this kind of culture is sad....

Please, consider this, think also about yourself.

why do I write this...because I care, I have seen so much misery in my life......

Car Seat Safety Guidelines

We waited 9 months to hold our precious baby in our arms. The precious little angel that completed our life. Our one true love, the love our our life. We will do everything to protect them, so a car seat is one thing that we needed to protect our kids on their first trip going home from the hospital. I have seen some parents with baby's in the car without a seat beat, they should be ashamed of themselves for being an irresponsible parents. Accidents happens anytime and either all of you or only the child will be thrown out of the car once you meet an accident. So please, make sure to include a car seat into your to buy list when pregnant.

Here are the car seat safety guidelines for parents and caregivers:

Know the stages. Make sure children are properly buckled up in a car seat, booster seat, or seat belt, whichever is appropriate for their age, height and weight.

Birth up to Age 2: Rear-facing car seat. For the best possible protection, infants and children should be buckled in a rear-facing car seat, in the back seat, until age 2 or when they reach the upper weight or height limits of their particular seat. Check the seat’s owner’s manual and/or labels on the seat for weight and height limits.

Age 2 up to at least Age 5: Forward-facing car seat. When children outgrow their rear-facing seats they should be buckled in a forward-facing car seat, in the back seat, until at least age 5 or when they reach the upper weight or height limit of their particular seat. Check the seat’s owner’s manual and/or labels on the seat for weight and height limits.

Age 5 up until seat belts fit properly: Booster seat. Once children outgrow their forward-facing seat, (by reaching the upper height or weight limit of their seat), they should be buckled in a belt positioning booster seat until seat belts fit properly. Seat belts fit properly when the lap belt lays across the upper thighs (not the stomach) and the shoulder belt lays across the chest (not the neck). Remember to keep children properly buckled in the back seat for the best possible protection.

Once Seat Belts Fit Properly without a Booster Seat: Seat Belt. Children no longer need to use a booster seat once seat belts fit them properly. Seat belts fit properly when the lap belt lays across the upper thighs (not the stomach) and the shoulder belt lays across the chest (not the neck). Paano na kaya ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas kung wala ang mga OFW? Ang mga Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) ay itinuturing na "Bayani ng Bansa" dahil sa malaking remittances na ipinadadala natin sa ating pamilya. Mga remittances na siyang ginagamit na panggastos sa araw araw na pangangailangan like food, shelter, and education. Mga remittances na nag aangat ng ekomomiya ng bansa.

Pero hindi lang sa mga remittances nakikilala ang OFW, may mga tumutulong ng tahimik sa pamamagitan ng pagtulong sa kapwa, like outreach program, scholarship, donation.

Kung mahilig kayo magbasa sa internet, malamang suki kayo ng mga blog, website ng mga OFW. Sila na dinadaan sa panulat or pagbablog ang pagtulong sa kapwa or pagpapakalat ng impormasyon na makakatulong sa kapwa OFW at sa mga pamilya nito.

The Reason Behind ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is going viral all over social media. Many have joined but never know the reason behind the movement. The challenge started in honor of Pete Frates, former Boston College baseball captain, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in March of 2012. Frates took the challenge himself on July 29, 2014 at Fenway Park, together with his friends and family members including his pregnant wife.

Peter Frates, now 29 year old, use baseball to raise awareness, hope and money for treating the ALS disease. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a fund-raiser for the ALS Therapy Development Institute and the Pete Frates #3 Fund. Pete Frates commitment has inspired thousands of people to dump ice water over their heads and helped raised nearly $6 million for ALS organizations.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. The Story behind the Father Who Abandoned by Daughters

Napoleon Timonera got what he wants when the so called hunger strike caught the public attention. His story and photos were shared in Facebook as te father who begged not only for money but for public sympathy as an abandoned father. A father who was reaching to the public to help him get in touch with his 4 daughters. According to Napoleon, they abandoned him and did not receive any financial support. He worked hard as an Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) to send them to school and now that he is old and can no longer support himself, he needs financial help to survive. And if ever he dies, his body should be sent to one of his daughters.

The photos was first posted in one of the Facebook page on August 13 to help this man send his message to his children, and been updated to give the one of the daughters (Mic Ng) side of a story:

Sad to know that there are really many people that would rather judge first before knowing the real story. They would rather hurt people rather than know the truth first. I pray that you yourselves are also blameless and have the right to judge.

I initially planned not to respond anymore and just keep quiet because this has been going on for almost 3 months already and we're quite tired. First of all, look at his poster, he says he is looking for his daughters, why then does he know our phone numbers? Answer: because HE KNOWS WHERE WE ARE and HE HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH US all these years. Why has he been in contact with us? Dahil HINDI NAMIN SYA PINABAYAAN. In spite of leaving us and having many mistresses already (the one he has today is his 4th), we have supported him financially, we have offered for him a place to stay. Pag naubos ang pera, balik uli sa pangba-blackmail sa amin. So this is the interesting story of our lives that we have wished to keep to ourselves - because this should be a private matter.

I don't want to explain any no longer. I'm content that our friends and relatives know who we are and the real story and they have been supporting us through all these trying times. Those who are bashing us, take time to think. Not all that you are seeing is the truth. Know the truth first. Before you judge, look inside you and ask yourselves.

My say: We heard both sided of a story, and the once under dog father came up to be a villain. I believe in the saying, "you reap what you sow" and "respect begets respect. " To gain respect, you you must work for it. A good parent will not humiliate the children in public no matter how bad they are. It is not the children's responsibility to give parents financial support but it is our duty to give them all the comfort in life for what they have done for us. A good children will do everything to give their parents a good life as a way of showing our love and gratitude for taking care of us.

Ravena is from a rival school, while the girl is from Assumption College. She already deactivated her old twitter account and created new private account. Good for her, she already learned her lesson not to mess up on social media. People are bullying her on Twitter and Facebook when she posted the photo. They call her the new amalayer, amafinger, amafu*ker.

Moral lesson: There is nothing wrong with being cool, the only thing wrong is when you did and act silly, like dirty finger and then proudly uploaded it in your account. Remember bullies are sniffing around, waiting for everybody's mistakes.

Ano nga ba ang tunay na kahulugan ng Overseas Filipino Workers hindi lang sa pamilya kundi maging sa pamahalaan?

Bayani raw ang OFW- Dahil ang ipinapadala nilang remittances ay nakatutulong sa ekonomiya ng bansa. Pumupunta sila sa ibang lupain para sa sarili nilang kapakanan. Nagsasakripisyo sila para iangat ang kanilang buhay. Kumikita ng mas malaki para sa pamilya. Ipinapadala nila lahat ng sweldo dito sa Pilipinas hindi dahil sa gusto nila, kundi dahil sa ito ang kailangan ng pamilya nila. Bayani nga bang maituturing ang mga OFW?

Mapera ang mga OFW- Palagi nating naririnig sa mga kaibigan ito, "uy mayaman ka na pala!" o kaya, "pasalubong naman." Naku naman, paaanong mayaman kita nyo nga at sa dati pa ring maliit na bahay nakatira, napuno lang ng modern furnitures at updated palagi sa bagong modelo ng cellphone ang mga anak, bukod sa ipad. Yung asawa, panay ang gastos tuwing may padala ang asawa, galit sa pera kaya gusto ubusin kaagad.

Mahirap maging OFW- Dahil sa kagustuhang maibigay ang lahat ng gusto ng asawa at anak, kailangang magtipid ang OFW. Tuwing sweldo, ipinapadala halos buong sweldo, at mag- iiwan lang ng kaunti para sa pangunahing pangangailangan. Konting tipid sa pagkain basta nakakakain ng masarap ang pamilya. Paunti unti, bumibili ng mga ipapasalubong para sa susunod na bakasyon. Karamihan sa OFW, sa dami ng kamag anak, lahat kailangan bigyan para hindi magtampo. Kaya ayun si kawawang OFW, isang taong mag iipon ng mga sale or promo items para mapasalubungan ang lahat.

Matiisin ang OFW- Kailangan mangibang bansa dahil wala namang maaasahang trabaho sa Pilipinas, sama sama nga pero kumakalam naman ang sikmura. Konting sakripisyo para sa pamilya. Tiis lang kahit nahohomesick at nagkakasakit, ang mahalaga ay makapagpadala ng pera buwan buwan. Mabuti nga at may Facebook na, kahit papaano, araw araw ay nakakabalita sa isa't isa at updated palagi ang pictures.

Tumatanda rin ang OFW - Huwag naman sanang tumanda ng walang naipon or mamatay sa ibang bansa dahil kawawa ang pamilya na walang naipon matapos ang mahigit sampung taong pagtatarabaho. Ipun ipon din, maraming time para makapag ipon. Sa mga OFW, hindi masamang bigyan ng masaganang buhay ang pamilya, huwag lang kalimutang magpundar. Mas maganda kung imbes na gadget, bumili ng hulugang ari arian.

OFW, Bayani nga ba? Oo naman, ang laki yata ng nakukahang pera ng gobyerno sa mga remittances natin. Sa laki ng dolyar na pumapasok sa bansa, nakakatulong ang OFW hindi lang sa pamilya kundi pati na rin sa pagbangon ekonomiya. Marami na ring OFW ang nagbuwis ng buhay dahil sa mga walang pusong amo. Nakakaawa rin na ang mga tinaguriang bayani ay naaapi at minamaltrato. Pero anuman ang pagsubok na dumating, matatag pa rin ang mga OFW, basta sa pamilya nagpapakabayani.

Sa mga may kamag-anak na OFW, katulong man or kahit anong klase ng trabaho, be proud of them, mapalad ka at may nagsasakripisyo para sa iyo.

This is incredible! He beats her in order to discipline her.

In addition, there must not be more than ten beatings,
and he must not break her bones, injure her, break her teeth, or poke her in the eye.

There is a beating etiquette.

If he beats to discipline her, he must not raise his hand high.

He must beat her from chest level.

All these things honor the woman.

She is in need of discipline.

How should the husband discipline her? Through admonishment.

If she is not deterred, he should refuse to share the bed with her.

If she is not repentant, he should beat her, but there are rules to the beating.

It is forbidden to beat her in the face of make her ugly.

When you beat her, you must not curse her.

Islam forbids this.

With what should he beat her?With his bare hand? With a rod?

If he beats her, the beatings should not be hard,so that they do not leave a mark.

He can beat her with a short rod.

He must avoid beating her in the face or in the places in the head where it hurts.

The beatings should be on the body and should not come one right after the other.

These are all choices made during the process,

but beating are allowed only as a last resort.

The honoring of the wife in Islam is also evident in the fact that the punishment
of beating is permissible in one case only: when she refuses to sleep with him.

When she refuses to sleep with him?

Yes, because where else could the husband go?

He wants her, but she refuses.

He should begin with admonishment and threats...

Allow me to repeat this. A man cannot beat his wife...over food or drink.

Once in a while, my husband makes a pitcher of Kool-Aid for him and the kids. I am not really a fan of this instant drink but my hubby is. In my opinion, the instant juice drink is just food coloring and citric acid for flavoring. It also needs a lot of sugar to taste like a sweetened juice.

Last month, my son was asking me the spelling of "ocean", "would" while writing on something. I was amazed to see him writing about Kool-Aid, so I asked him, if he copied it in the book or from the school or he just made it up. He said he just made it up. This is what he is writing.

Anyway whether he did it or just copied, still to cute not to share after all, not all 5 year old kid can write like him without any supervision. No wonder he made it into the gifted and talented program last year. My little boy is amazing!

My Son as a Blogger

Look what I googled, my sons blog when he was 10 years old. We were still living in Qatar, when I started blogging and then my son, seeing me writing on my spare time, decided to have his own blog site too. He grew up in the Philippines until 7 years old before we brought him to Qatar, and I never thought that he will be good in English at his age.

He was a big fan of Miley Cyrus and Pokemon when he started his own blog. For a beginner, I never thought his first post was amazing. My favorite post was when he talked about his little brother. He stopped writing on this site but he did not stop from there. Right now at age 15, he is a member of the Journalism club and into a lot of school competition. He is also the President of the National Honor Society this coming school year.There were 5 of them who competed for the highest position, where they were asked to answer 7 essay questions and he made it.

Ano ba ang pananaw ko sa pagiging mayaman? Dapat ba ay marami kang properties, alahas, naka iphone, ipad at blackberry or Samsung phone ka. May magara kang sasakyan, at higit sa lahat limpak limpak ang iyong salapi, literally isa kang mayaman.

Taong 2008, ang una kung bakasyon sa Pilipinas bilang isang OFW sa Middle East, sabi ng aking pamangkin habang nakatingin sa aking mamahaling cellphone, "tito ang yaman mo, naka N95 ka na Nokia." QR 2, 500 ang bili ko noon sa Nokia N95 na sa mata ng isang bata ay isa ng kayamanan. Pero may isang pangyayari na hindi pala kayamanan ang pagkakaroon ng mamahaling gadget. Nag-iingay ang mga pamangkin ko noon ng nalalag ko ang N95 at nasira as in totally black out at naging dahilan para magblackout din ako, nasigawan ko lahat ng pamangkin pati ang nanay ko, "magsilayas kayong lahat at dalhin nyo lahat ang apo nyo". Umalis ang nanay ko kasama lahat ng pamangkin ko at sabi niya, "halika na mga apo, huwag n'yong istorbohin ang tito nyo, pasensiya ka na anak, naistorbo ka namin." Iyak ng iyak ang nanay ko habang papalabas ng gate kasama ang mga apo nya. Animo’y binagsakan ako ng langit at lupa nang nakita ko siyang umiiyak. Nawala lahat ng panghihinayang ko sa nasirang cellphone. Malungkot akong hinabol si nanay upang yakapin para humingi ng kapatawaran sa mali kong inasal.

Iyon pala ang tunay na kayaman ang mayakap ko siya ng mahigpit, at makita siyang ngumiti uli. Walang kapantay na kayaman na kailanman ay hindi matutumbasan ng anumang salapi. Mula noon, pinangako ko sa aking sarili na hindi ko na bibigyan ng sama ng loob ang aking ina. Sa ngayon, isa pa nagpapayaman sa akin ay ang marinig ang boses niya, “maramimg salamat anak sa padala mo.” Ni minsan hindi ko hinindian ang magulang ko pag siya ay humingi, kahit ipangutang ko pa at kahit alam ko na hindi para sa kanya ang hiningi niya. Wala akong pakialam, basta ang importante ay napapasaya ko si nanay. Minsan nasabi nga ng isa kong kapatid, "dapat hindi mo siya bigyan kasi mamimihasa yung isang kapatid natin, tingnan mo hindi na nagtratrabaho yung bayaw mo!" Ang sabi ko sa kapatid ko, "wala akong magagawa kuya. si nanay na ang humingi, at hindi ko siya puwedeng tanggihan o tanungin kung saan niya gagamitin ang pera." Dagdag ko pa, "ang importante napasaya ko siya, at narinig ang salitang, salamat anak."

Nakakasawa na rin ang palaging pagtulong sa mga kamag anak, namimihasa at nagiging tamad na kasi sila, pero mas mabuti na rin yon kesa ikaw ang humingi ng tulong. Minsan nasabi ko sa isang kong friend na pastor na nagsasawa na ako sa pagtulong, palagi na lang ganun, ang sabi niya sa akin.”Huwag mo kasing isipin na ginagawa mo ito para sa kanila, isipin mo na lahat ng ito ay ginagawa mo para sa Diyos."

Ngayon po ang kaarawan ng aking mother, malakas pa siya at walang sakit sa edad ng 75. Happy birthday mother…you are my life... at maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng blessings.

Hindi Mayaman ang OFW

We have this notion na 'pag OFW o nasa abroad ay mayaman na. Hindi totoo yun. A regular OFW might earn from P20K-P30K per month depende sa lokasyon. Yung mga taga-Saudi or US siguro ay mas malaki ang sweldo, but to say that they're rich is a fallacy (Amen!).

Malaki ang pangangailangan kaya karamihan sa amin ay nag-a-abroad. Maraming bunganga ang kailangang pakainin kaya umaalis kami sa Pinas. Madalas, 3/4 o kalahati ng sweldo ay napupunta sa tuition ng anak at gastusin ng pamilya.

Mahirap maging OFW - Kailangan namin magtipid hangga't kaya. Oo, masarap ang pagkain sa abroad pero madalas na paksiw o adobo (hindi kc agad nasisira ito) at itlog lang tinitira para makaipon. Pagdating ng kinsenas o katapusan, ang unang tinitingnan eh ang conversion ng peso sa dollar o rial o euro. Mas okay na kami na lang ang magutom kaysa gutumin ang pamilya.

Kapag umuuwi kami, kailangan may baon/pasalubong kahit konti, kasi maraming kamag-anak ang sumusundo sa airport o naghihintay sa probinsya. Alam nyo naman 'pag Pinoy, yung tsismis na OFW ka eh surely attracts a lot of kin. Kapag hindi mo nabigyan ng pasalubong eh magtatampo na yun at sisiraan ka na.

Well, hindi naman lahat pero I'm sure sa mga OFW dito eh may mga pangyayaring ganun.

Magtatrabaho ka sa bansang iba ang tingin at trato sa gaya nating mga Pinoy, kahit na masipag at mas may utak tayo kaysa sa kanila. Malamang marami ang naka-experience na nang pang-gugulang o discrimination to their various workplaces. Sige lang, tiis lang, iiiyak na lang namin kasi kawawa naman pamilya 'pag umuwi kami sa pinas.

Besides, wala ka naman talagang maasahang trabaho sa Philippines ngayon. Mahal ang bigas, ang gatas, ang sardinas, ang upa sa apartment. Tiis lang kahit maraming pasaway sa trabaho, kahit may sakit at walang nag-aalaga, kahit hindi masarap ang tsibog, kahit pangit ang working conditions, kahit delikado, kahit mahirap. Kapag nakapag-padala na kami, okay na yun, tawag lang, "hello! kumusta na kayo?".

Hindi bato kaming mga OFW - Tao rin ang OFW, hindi kami money o cash machine. Napapagod rin, nalulungkot (madalas), nagkakasakit (na-endoscopy ako), nag-iisip (nakapag-adjust na) at nagugutom (palagi). Kailangan din ang suporta, kundi man physically, emotionally o spiritually (especially ito) man lang.

Tumatanda rin kaming mga OFW - Sa mga nakausap at nakita ko, marami ang panot at kalbo na. Most of them have signs and symptoms of hypertension, coronary artery disease and arthritis. Yet, they continue to work thinking about the family they left behind.

Marami ang nasa abroad, 20-30 years na, pero wala pa ring ipon. Kahit anong pagpapakahirap, sablay pa rin. Masakit pa kung olats rin ang sinusuportahang pamilya sa Pinas - ang anak adik o nabuntis/nakabuntis; ang asawa/gf/bf may kinakasamang iba; ang kapatid nakuntento na lang na umasa at tumambay. Naalala ko tuloy ang sikat na kanta dati, "NAPAKASAKIT KUYA EDDIE!"

Bayani kaming mga OFW - Totoo yun! Ngayon ko lang na-realize na bayani ang OFW sa maraming bagay. Hindi bayani na tulad ni Nora Aunor o Flor Contemplacion. Bayani in the truest sense of the word. Hindi katulad ni Rizal o Bonifacio na kalayaan ang ipinaglaban. Mas higit pa dun, mas maraming giyera at gulo ang pinapasok ng OFW para lang mabuhay.

Mas maraming pulitika ang kailangang suungin para lang tumagal sa trabaho lalo na't parang mga ahas at parang mga amag ang mga kasama sa trabaho. Mas mahaba ang pasensya namin kaysa sa mga ordinaryong kongresista o senador sa Philippines dahil sa takot namin na mawalan ng trabaho at sweldo.

Matindi kaming mga OFW - Matindi ang pinoy. Matindi pa sa daga, o cockroaches which survived the cataclysmic evolution.

Maraming sakripisyo pero walang makitang tangible solutions or consequences.

Malas naming mga OFW, swerte ng mga buwayang pulitiko - Hindi umuupo ang OFW para magbigay ng autograph o interbyuhin ng media (unless nakidnap o na-maltrato). Madalas nasa sidelines lang ang OFW.

Kapag lilisan ng bansa, malungkot and on the verge of tears; Kapag dumadating, swerte 'pag may sundo (madalas naman meron); Kapag naubos na ang ipon at wala nang maibigay, wala na rin ang kamag-anak. Sana sikat kaming mga OFW para may boses kami sa Kamara.

Ang swerte ng mga buwayang pulitiko nakaupo lang sila at ginagastusan ng pera ng Filipino. Hindi nga sila naiinitan ng matinding araw o napapaso ng langis; napagagalitan at nasasampal ng amo; kumakain ng paksiw para makatipid; nakatira sa compound with conditions less than favorable; nakikisama sa ibang lahi para mabuhay. Ang swerte ninyong mga buwayang pulitiko kayo, sobrang swerte ninyo.

Matatag kaming mga OFW - Matatag ang OFW, mas matatag pa sa sundalo o kung ano pang grupo na alam nyo. Magaling sa reverse psychology, negotiations at counter-attacks.

Tatagal ba ang OFW? - Tatagal at dadami pa kami hangga't hindi pa natin alam kung kailan magbabago ang Philippines , kailan nga kaya?... o may tsansa pa ba?

Masarap isipin na kasama mo ang pamilya mo araw-araw. Nakikita mo mga anak mong lumalaki at naaalagaan ng maayos na kasama ka.

Masarap kumain ng sitaw, ng bagoong, lechon, inihaw na isda, taba ng talangka.

Masarap manood ng pelikulang Pinoy, luma man o bago.

Iba pa rin ang pakiramdam kung kilala mo at nakakakuwenttuhan mo ang kapitbahay mo. Iba pa rin sa Philippines; iba pa rin kapag Pinoy ang kasama mo except ('pag hambog at utak-talangka); Iba pa rin 'pag nagkukwento ka at naiintindihan ng iba ang sinasabi mo; Iba pa rin ang tunog ng "mahal kita!", "day, ginahigugma tika"," "Mingaw na ko nimo ba, kalagot!", " Inday, diin ka na subong haw? ganahan guid ko simo ba".

Iba pa rin talaga.

Sige lang, tiis lang, saan ba't darating din ang pag-asa.

Kung may kamag-anak kang OFW mapalad ka at wala ka d2 sa kinalalagyan namin at anjan ka kasama mo ang mga mahal mo sa buhay.

Kung OFW ka at binabasa mo ito, mabuhay ka dahil ikaw ang tunay na BAYANI ng lahing PILIPINO!!!

I think I'll go for #7, though let me reiterate this: it's like the same way as you if love yourself.
1. No reason - it became a habit kasi pero hindi naman ako araw araw magselfie - just when I feel like it. 2. GIRLS. 3. Syempre nakakatuwa - nothing too boastful, nakakatuwa lang sa kalooban. 4. Self-fulfillment, I think. 5. I think kahit papano, oo - but that only happens when people compliments you on the photo, etc. 6. It's always a plus but never the priority thing. 7. Haha, we could say it in that kind of sense - yeah, pwede but again, it's really more just of a habit to me - pag may bago sa akin, etc. I just want to take a picture of it. (of me in it, lol!) 8. I don't actually have a fan on selfie posts - FAN KO SARILI KO, haha! I think it's more of you have to love yourself before you can actually posts selfie's eh. Pra sa akin lang naman ganon ang perception ko, so you first have to be a fan of yourself. 9. Haha! Sometimes I get those kind of comments, too. Minsan, ang payat mo dito (lol it was said in a way na di mo alam if ikakatuwa mo o hindi) or minsan (tumaba ka) - it's hard cold truth, it wasn't really a bad comment - it's just the truth, pero kahit papano, that will make you feel bad kahit papano. Actually, getting nasty comments / not so good comments comes rarely na on my photos - they were horrible during my younger years. The worst was when someone said sa isang photo ko - "you look like a chaka doll" - I was wearing a barbie lens on my photo, lol - but then again, I did became like a doll on that but it's one of my favorites photo so I was sure it didn't look bad at all - talagang nasty lang ng nagcomment. I didn't take it to heart, natawa nalang ako. :)) (The person who did that actually hated me - those times na I had some haters online - on my younger years, lol) 10.
