Shaved look is important.

Hola amigos,

Well i think you would have already read about my earlier two blog posts relating to incidents where i was embarrassed due to a unshaved look and had to lose opportunities due to improper dressing and looks.

Today i am going to narrate an incident where my friend had to lose a huge opportunity due to his improper look.

Ramesh (name changed) is my best buddy and we both read in the same class from +2 and were friends from before our +2 also. We share almost everything between us and always help each other. It is said that a friendship which lasts for more than 7 years lasts for a lifetime, so only 3 years are left for us to complete the 7 years benchmark and then we will be friends for lifetime.

He was usually better than me studies and even though i envied him because he was very good all-rounder but still i did never thought any ill for him. Though he was an all rounder still he had a de-merit because God does not makes anyone perfect. So his demerit was zero dressing sense and NIL fashion sense. He had nothing to do with current fashion and trends and wearing latest styled clothes hardly mattered to him. I remember that i bought clothes every Diwali usually but he would not even purchase clothes on Diwali also (he was not greedy) and even though he bought it would feel like the clothes which are left out by everyone are bought by him. Such was his fashion sense and everyone ignored him because usually geeks are like that only.

This continued and no one told him anything regarding improving his clothing , yes knowledge is good but looks do matter in practical life. He later went on to Kolkata and opted the same course as me and also cleared IPCC with excellent marks infact he also got an all India rank #23, which was very very good.

He always wanted to go to a big firm for articleship training and as he was AIR #23 he would go to any firm that he wanted and it happened also the same. He applied in the big four companies like Deloitte, KPMG, PWC and few others. He got a call from everyone of them and date for interview was fixed.

The first was of Deloitte which also happened to be his personal favorite. He wanted to clear that and join that firm by any means. He got dressed in his usual sense and even though i poked him to dress properly so as to get a good impression he did not listen me and went in his casual way with loose fitting pants ,old patterned shirt and sandals, also with wildly grown beard which made him look very bad. On my telling him to get properly dressed and get his beard shaved his reply was that his talent was going to get his selected and not his looks.

He went away that way only and the same happened that i was expecting. He was rejected as soon as he entered the room. The interviewer did not even gave him an opportunity to showcase his talent. He was very depressed that day and he learnt from his mistake that day and in the next interview he got properly dressed and shaved as i told him and he got selected in PWC very easily infact the interviewer were very impressed by his talent and offered him even higher stipent.

That day he realised the importance of proper dressing and shaved look.

Hello friends ,
In the last blog post i shared about how i was embarrassed about my unshaved look in my work place. That day i truly realized that having a shaved look was very very important , well today i would like to discuss another incident which happened with me recently related to my unshaved look.

I was off to Kolkata for my General Management and Communication Skills Training which forms a part of my Chartered Accountancy course. The classes are held for 15 days and you need to be properly dressed and well maintained to attend the classes. Usually the dress code is formal clothes (even though i do not look good in them, i had to wear them), Tie (if you want), and a shaved face.

At first I was very much exited about the dress code and I got myself properly dressed for my first class and make my face totally clean shaved. That was the first day and almost everyone that day was properly dressed in formals and shaved faces so that the faculty does not catches them and marks an absent in their attendance due to improper dress code.

Gradually the days passed by and after 4-5 days most of them started wearing casual shirts, cotton jeans, casual shoes etc. and usually the faculties too ignored them most of the time, infact during that time period no one was caught for improper clothes. Some where coming with wild beard grown on their faces and still no one told them anything.

Even i after seeing everyone coming so casually started to adopt the casual dressing like a sheep in the herd. I started wearing casual shirt at first and then casual jeans and all. I even did not paid nay attention to my face and the beard which has grown very big for any formal class.

2-3 days passed by very peacefully and no one told me or any other boy anything, I was also very relaxed and did not paid any attention towards my dressing. And then came the Judgement day, that day the second session was of a very strict faculty and very peculiar about the dressing sense of students. And i was the victim that day the sir caught me among all other boys. I was like Oh god why me, that was the most embarrassing day of my life, he scolded me for my unshaved face clothes and many more bla-bla which was not good to hear at all. He marked me absent for the day and also sent me out of the class. Even after that incident the boys teased me till the end of the class , though i took the incident in a light sense, but still that was another incident which taught me the importance of having a good and clear face and dressing sense.

Unshaved look's Embarassement

Hello friends first i would like you to introduce myself to you. I am a student and I am currently doing Charted Accountancy course and currently going my compulsory articleship training.

Now you would be guessing whats the reason of telling all this in this blog post, well it is important because one event recently took place in my life where i was embarrassed due to my unshaved looks.

It was a normal day at office and I like as usual had a very wild and improper beard, even though i do not have long beard but still it looks untidy on my face. I was going o do my shaving but ignored it every morning because i did not like my unshaved look. I went to the office that day with that improper beard and at first i did not feel anything , because our principle is not so strict in such matters and earlier also i did not face any such situation where i have to take care of my looks with beard. So it was pretty usual day for me.

That day one of the clients audit was going to get started and i am very much interested in doing audit specially of big companies and that client was one of them. So i was very much hopeful that i was to be selected for the audit of that client and waited patiently for the principle to call me and send me for the audit as no other capable article was present at that time.

Later that day the principle called me and i finally thought that the time has finally come and i went happily to him, he at first did not look at me and said you have to go today for the audit of that client. After telling that he looked at my untidy face and told me why you didn't have a shave today??

And i was speechless, i had no answers, i did not knew what to tell and just stood dumb. He told me that he cannot send me like that to the client and thus i had to stay at the office. That day i realized how important it was to have a proper and a clear shave.

I would suggest all you readers always have a clean shave so that you never miss any opportunity in your life.
