During the development of silent film era of cinema, there are some very influential movement in the world, one of which is the flow of expressionism in Germany. Expressionism itself originated from the term painting and poetry before developing into the art of literature, performing arts, building until finally the art of film. Expressionism is a stream that expresses the human mind in the abstract; flow that emphasizes the emotional and personal reaction to an artist; different from the flow of realism that gave priority to the work exactly like the original form.

Starting at the beginning of the First World War when the German film industry began to be supported by the government due to their lack of film production. The result is a sharp increase productivity and new studios also began to appear. To control the production and distribution of German films, the government and form a film company called Ufa (Universelfilm Aktiengesellschaft) in 1917. Productivity was growing film and German films and even becoming known internationally. Competition is increasingly intense, especially from Hollywood films, German film industry forced to think hard to produce new works that can compete with foreign production.

In 1919, a small studio called Decla recruited two writers, Carl Meyer and Hans Janowitz that has a unique screenplay. They wanted a film produced with different styles. Artistic director, Hermann Warm, Walter Reinman, and Walter Rohrig and then propose the film was made with the style of expressionism. Finally a movie called, Cabinet of Dr. Caligary (1919) directed by Robert Wiene produced with low budgets. This film was a success across Europe and even down to the U.S.. Not less than the great German director Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau was like Fritz Lang and produced the films follow the style of expressionism. Murnau produce, The Haunted Castle (1921) and influential horror films, Nosferatu (1922) and Faust (1926); Lang even produce large-scale film, a historical epic, Die Nibelungen (1923) and monumental set in the futuristic film, Metropolis (1927) . Other directors like Carl Boese and Paul Wegener produce horror film The Golem (1921) followed by Paul Leni through Waxworks (1923). Expressionism style usually seen in the movie-themed fiction, fantasy, and horror. The film revolves around a Miliader named Edward Lewis (Gere) meets with a femalesex worker named Vivian Ward (Roberts). Edward then took Vivian to the hotel where he stayed and "booked" for several days. Time is running and the love relationshipbetween Edward and Vivian began intertwined. Nothing special about the movie PrettyWoman plot, the formula used in the movie even this very simple and easy to predict.But of course there are reasons that make this popular romantic drama film is sold in the market .. The lack of similar-themed movies at the time of its release could be themain factor of success of this film.

The story runs with the grooves are, slowly but surely we can see a beautiful process ofgrowing love between them. Plot a glance looks like a fairy tale can be packed sweetand romantic. Although there is nothing special about the whole story of the movie, butsome scenes such as when Vivian must be confronted with the upscale lifestyle thatcompletely impromptu able to attract the attention of the audience. Also of courseChemistry between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts himself is a plus in the movie.Serving as a prostitute, Julia Roberts is able to display a cool character, independent,and even impressed with the very good sloppy. Speaking style, and wants his ownbehavior, in this movie can make viewers exasperated with this figure .. Also worth noting is the use of the soundtrack is very appropriate. Song - songs such as Oh PrettyWoman (Roy Orbison), and It Must Have Been Love (Roxette), floated sweetaccompany each scene.

Pretty Woman show us that love can grow in any well at any moment, knows no socialstatus, and can also be a special way like a fairytale. In this film we see that money andpower are the priorities for Vivian and Edward becomes not important anymore as it is covered by a feeling of love. Not money or career that they need but love. The influence of German Expressionism Flow

Although the style of expressionism only seven years old but the impact was so great for the development of film industry in the world. One could even say he exceeds his predecessors for not only the visual element alone, but Burton also uses a typical illustration of music in all his films by composer Danny Elfman. His films, among others, Beetle Juice (1987), Batman (1989), Edward Scisscorhands (1990), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Planet of the Apes (2001), Big Fish (2003), and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).

The Brave One , Talk About the Justice and Truth

Erica Bain (Foster) is a radio announcer in New York City who live happily togetherDavid fiancee. One night when they both relax in the middle of Central Park, they were confronted by three thugs who intend to rob them. David fight and they were bothpersecuted. David was killed but Erica survived. After recovering physically but notmentally, she suffered trauma and excessive fear. For the sake of comfort, Erica evenpurchase firearms illegally. Once when Erica was forced to shoot a robber the store todefend himself. To her surprise after this action Erica actually find inner satisfactionthat is able to close the trauma and fear. Erica is now turned into a figure of "streetsweeper" who works outside the law. Detective Mercer (Howard) who are also fansErica is the police who investigated this case.

Speak plot "revenge" reminds some popular crime action movies, like Dirty Harryseries up to Death Wish. The difference is this time the figure of figures "law enforcement" is a woman. Different films with similar plots, The Brave One did notemphasize the element of action but rather dramatic element. The interesting thingwould be more focused on the dramatic side of the psychological pressures faced by the two main figures. Filmmakers are able to build the dramatic plot patiently butdeepened. Mercer is the ideal figure of the police who are frustrated with the criminalsthat always escape the law. Conversely Erica is the figure of a normal citizen whoturned into a figure of "butcher" for criminals after becoming victims of crime. Ericaemerged as a figure of "ideal" to replace Mercer. They are contradictory figure butneed each other. The story was also covered with a surprise ending that covers sweetfilm.

The plot that emphasizes the psychological side of such depth is clearly requireexcellent acting force. Foster and Howard each capable of carrying his role very well.Foster especially capable of playing privileges as Erica Bain is traumatic, anxiety, andalways filled with fear but at same time also capable of being a brave figure whovindictive and hateful. We all know what is wrong but Foster's Erica is able to reverse itso that this character actually got full sympathy from the audience. While TerenceHoward as always, excellent play in all his films even if its role is now not sedominanFoster. Both Howard and Foster were able to build "chemistry" between fans and fans are unique also among law enforcement figure and the figure of "criminal". The Tourist, Depp and Jolie + Venice? Disaster

Alexander Pearce is an international fugitive who has been embezzling hundreds of billions of pounds. Interpol England under the leadership of Superintendent John Acheson (Bettany) to supervise the movements of a woman named Elise (Jolie) who allegedly close to Pearce. Elise receive guidance through a letter so he could meet with Pearce as well as to outwit the police who follow him. Elise follow instructions to take the train to the City of Venice and sit with someone who figures similar to Pearce, namely a tourist named Frank Tupelo (Depp). Elise also invited Frank to stay at a luxury hotel in Venice. British police who originally wanted to capture Frank realized that if it turns out they were swindled, but one group of gangsters who got the wrong info just wanted to catch Frank.

This film is a remake of French film supposedly titled Anthony Zimmer (2005). I do not know what the original movies, one glaring weakness is the plot of this movie is bad. The idea is actually quite interesting story even if not original, but the script is not able to provide enough elements of mystery and suspense is expected. Everything was flat and boring. Even an intelligent audience can already guess the ending movie early. Amat too easy. Who thought the plot would be this bad? The manuscript was also compounded by bad dialogue is very silly and unnecessary. Tempo is slow and boring movie, the story which tends seriously, lack of action scenes, the ending is very predictable, and bad dialogue, you want to comment what else?

The combination of class stars Depp and Jolie seemed to promise a special film, but apart from a bad script, their appearance also did not bite. No sedikipun the chemistry between them. It's ridiculous, Depp and Jolie's acting is obviously too weak for the characters they played. Location setting in the city of Venice water also promising a panorama of the beautiful and exotic but in fact neither. The corners of the city of Venice is selected not at all attractive and looks quiet. City of Venice was never seen as boring as this in a movie.

It is amazing why the "tone" his films tend to be serious and do not lead to comedy. Acting and silly dialogue and plot are easily anticipated it seems more appropriate for full movie comedy. It was surprising also stars Depp and Jolie's classmates want to be involved in the film. With all the weaknesses of the script and dialogue, casting two big stars of this era, as well as budget of $ 100 million is not wrong if the film is worth mentioning as one of worst movies produced this year. At the end of the 50's to mid 60's the development of documentary film underwent major changes. In production, film-makers began using a camera that is lighter and thecar, a small number of crew, and the rejection of the draft manuscript and traditionalstructures. They are more spontaneous in recording the image ( without the set ), minimal use of narrative by letting the object speak for themselves ( the interview ). This approach is known by many terms, such as "candid" cinema, "uncontrolled" cinema, tocinema Verite (in French), but generally known as Direct Cinema. Some factorsinfluencing the emergence of this trend, namely the Italian neorealism movement thatpresents a realistic everyday, technological innovation 16mm cameras smaller andlighter, innovation portable voice recorder, and television performers whose popularityis increasing. Cinema Direct approach is widely used mainly American film maker,Canada, and France.

Documentary films grown increasingly complex in the era of the 30s. The emergence of voice technology also has established a documentary film with narrative technique and accompaniment music illustration. Governments, institutions, and large companies began to support the production of documentary films for the sake of variety. The documentary does not like fiction movie (story) is a record of events taken from real events or really happened. The definition of "documentary" itself is always changing in line with the development of documentary films from time to time. Since the era of silent film, documentary film evolved from simple to increasingly complex with the type and function of the increasingly varied. Eat, Pray, Love

Eat, Pray, Love is an adaptation of the novel, titled the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert which reputedly inspired by the story of his own life journey. Once Gilbert (Roberts) was a career woman who failed in her marriage to Steven (Crudup). He feels there is something missing in her life. Gilbert then a relationship with a player theater, David, but their relationship was not long. Gilbert finally decided to travel to Italy, India, and Indonesia to search for a lost identity.

Plots such as these clearly have a lot of us see in the movies drama similar journey. Normally the hero to learn or be taught a lesson from the experiences he encountered during the trip so that he finally found what he sought. Into the Wild Sean Pean claim is one perfect example of this type of drama through the depth of the theme. While the characters in this film memorable "escape" from reality to find "peace of mind" or rather seek worldly pleasures that have not been satisfied. The figures make every effort than eating good food, meditation, to sex to find "peace of soul"her. Absolutely not shown how his trip to India for example, able to reflect on his peace of his soul. One thing that is interesting in this film is that we like really taken traveling to Italy, India, and Bali. Sequences in Italy is probably the best by being able to show the exotic cities in Italy, from architecture, food, friendliness of the citizens, to the style of speech. Sequences in Bali, despite considerable portion, but less exotic island resort show the truth. Unfortunately, the filmmakers seem to avoid the use of the sites that become major tourist attractions in Bali, of course, is for ease of production. Apart from this all in general Eat, Pray, Love is the usual drama that only displays the exotic cities disinggahinya. If you want to get something more, this film did not offer anything new.

Julia Fiona Roberts was born on October 28, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. Roberts's parents, Betty Lou and Walter Grady Roberts.
