Good riddance 2013, 2014 here I COME!

2014-01-01T23:30:00.000-06:00

2013 is not a smooth year for us.

But then looking back, we actually managed to have 4-5years of good year too.

2013, was a year of unpredictability, instability and was met with alot of difficult situation that just doesn't go our way. The most difficult being TOto, who was trapped in USA and has to fly alone back to Singapore and was quarantine for 10 days.

BUT then on the flip side, we have ALOT OF FREE TIME together as a family! No $$$ but alot of time together! Hubba holiday-ed for 6 months till my mom asked whether his brain will SLOW DOWN or not! That is so funny, my MOTHER is counting for us ...

Lost some, gained alot too.

BUT I AM NOT LOOKING back!

NOTHING is worth me getting upset and not moving forward.
I have seen too much to keep looking back.

SO despite all the obstacles that happen we moved on, tried our hardest to solve all the obstacles; one by one. Luckily we have lotsa of 贵人 along the way that help us along. AND with helps here and there, we beat the ODDS and managed to SOLVE everything but of course lose alot of $$$ along the way. WELL 2013 is supposed to be a bad year so if $$$ can solve everything I am glad we can use $$$ to eradicate the 'bad' fengshui.

GOOD RIDDANCE everything BAD that happen in 2013;I DON'T MISS YOU!

DON'T COME BACK ...

Despite everything that happened, I am just glad that we had our furryboy and are back together as a family pack! Nothing beats having all loves one happily together!!!

In 2014 I just want to LOSE weight, be healthy and HAPPY!

I hasn't been giving this blog attention but hopefully I can do more stuffs this coming year when I have my own place! I HATE messing up mommy's kitchen; can't stand the nag and criticism hahahaha.

I KNOW 2014 will be A GOOD YEAR!

I KNOW!!!

So much anger in Singapore, I wonder why!?

2013-12-27T06:11:00.002-06:00

Met some really weird, angry old folks AGAIN!

We were as usual walking TOto on our usual route.

These old folks maybe in their mid 50s, walk pass us right NEXT to me and they were CLOSE real close and TOto is already on short leash tighten. TOto usually ignore MOST PEOPLE on the walk. The man didn't see TOto at first but when he see, he JUMPS. BUT because of the man reaction, TOto turns to 'SNIFF'.

NO GROWL, no interest, just turn his head! And the MAN JUMP up and gives this VERY DISGUSTED reaction together with the WIFE! You know the kind of reaction people gives when you bring out your precious handicapped kid, and maybe the kid sort of accidentally 'disturbed' them? YA that type of disgusted reaction by BOTH of them ...

I am pissed but I stayed calm. I turn around and told them nicely saying, "My dog is OK, he doesn't bite. You guys don't have to give this type of reaction." And this become a shouting MATCH for these old folks. We were like verbally abused. I was yet in SHOCKED again! They say TOto were ON THE LOOSE 乱乱走, we cannot control them, yadda yadda ...

HE WAS ON A LEASH, and that is a PUBLIC pavement!

The whole time they are shouting and hurling abuse at us, TOto is not even growling or barking at them; he just wants to leave! The MAD DOGS barking are actually these 2 old folks, and I wonder if they can see themselves. I wished I had just videoed the whole thing and STOMP it!

THEY ARE JUST ANGRY PEOPLE!

Why are Singporean elderly so UNREASONABLE and ANGRY?

(Not my first time encountering such people!)

That is the reason why people don't respect the elders anymore! Anything they are not happy or 看不过去 they cannot reason it out like a respected adult. First reaction is to be angry, starts to 'niam niam niam', gives faces and/or SHOUT?

Can't a person be nice about asking for a seat? Be nice about asking for help? Be nice and considerate on the road? Even if I am WRONG, he can nicely tell me off, and I CAN APOLOGISE for it. No big deal, not the first time I apologizes if TOto accidentally 'disturb' someone on the road.

This will be the reason why I want to leave again.

People is very angry here ...

Another LAST order, Loveculture ...

2013-12-23T13:51:00.001-06:00

And I thought ...

But Hub says there is more budget, and so I CHOP CHOP and ORDER, hahahaha!

Just nice 50$, socks is filler!

Black fleece leggings for my HK trip in Feb!

I am so happy, PRE-Xmas spree alone at home in the comfort of my LAPTOP SCREEN!

Last order for 2014 F21 and Swim Outlet

2013-12-01T23:30:00.000-06:00

Sunglass too cute right, hahaha!

Hopefully I can wear some of these for CNY?

Preparing some swimwear for my new place!

Happy Birthday KL!

2013-10-11T23:30:00.000-05:00

Yeah, Celebration for one of our beloved 傻大哥!

But I really got no time to do up, because before going out I got to WALK, FEED and PACIFY TOto before moving out!

LONG QUEUE even for ICHIBAN SUSHI?

Some of the food we ordered.

The service was really bad to the extent there wasn't enough small plate for our sauce, and it took some time for the servers to take orders!

Well Over-rated and OVER PRICED!

But for our Birthday BOY, we LOVE him ...

Happy Birthday!

Merlie the Pretty Amigurumi Mermaid w Pet Octie

2013-10-10T05:09:00.000-05:00

Trying out a mermaid with a sketch! I have never done a sketch before, and usually doesn't know how my Ami will turn out and just cross finger hoping for the best. BUT I decide to do a simple sketch and try my best to follow it.

How did I fare?

Started out with a fin ...

Disagreement with Hubba how mermaid fin should be ...

I still have problem with my INVISIBLE DECREASE, need more practised!

Arrrrrrrghhh ...

A little lacy bikini and a starfish for her hair accessories!

There you go Merlie and her Pet Octie ...

Octie the Amigurumi Octopus

2013-10-06T23:30:00.000-05:00

My YARNS are here and there are 'thinner' than what I usually used but after experimenting, they can be used for amigurumi as well! I am super excited, and I can start my project ...

Chosen a super easy design!

A OCTOPUS!

I am so in LOVE with all these vibrant colours that I gotten!

WOULD love to get more of these colourful yarns ...

F21 50% off Sales ...

2013-10-05T05:44:00.000-05:00

I am SICK, hahaha ...

Till now I have yet to do ANY shopping for clothes in Singapore but I kept ordering from F21 oversea!

TIM HO WAN @ TPY Toa Payoh

2013-09-19T23:30:00.000-05:00

Gf was at Bishan for a morning meeting and she volunteer to go queue at THW TPY, so I agreed to go! Seriously I HATE having to QUEUE for food especially when I have to PAY $$$ for it! But luckily the queue was short and she hasn't got to wait for long, and we were late. THW is strict, they only allow people to go in if the WHOLE group is here!

The pictorial menu!

We ordered quite alot for 4pax!

We tried to cancel after we are almost full, but one of the lady staff was reluctant, and when we insist she comes back to say CANNOT. I am quite PISSED, CANNOT or DON'T WANT? I will cancel a star for not accomdating to customer wishes? We just wanted to cancel their MONTHLY special which is the Fried noodle which SUCKS!

Century Porridge came first and they were SERIOUSLY GOOD!

The next time I GO, I want a bowl ALL TO MYSELF ...

The braised chicken feet came as a surprised, it was not the usual red braised but a soy based braised. Another blaaaaaaaahhh too ...

We ordered 3 types of Chee Cheong fun; prawn, pork liver and Char Siew.

I like the prawn best, the prawn is HUGE and there are packed full of prawns. The char siew version is plain, and we have had better.

The liver Chee Cheong Fun is rather unique, I can't say I like it but I don't think I will order them again!

My friends loves the Malai Gao, it is indeed fluffy and warm!

The specialty Char Siew bun, the skin dough is light and crunchy with juicy Char Siew inside!

THE FLOP noodles that we tried to cancel!

Lo Mai Gai is really fragrance with alot of chicken meat!

Will love it more if there is an egg ...

Lo bak Gao is a rare blaaaaaaaahhh ...

JUST bland, maybe didn't add enough MSG hahahaha!

Worth the crowd and queue!?

I will definitely come back but won't come in if there is a queue!

I HATE queuing for food, I really don't have the patience for them ...

Groupon Voucher Ah Yat Abalone TURF CITY Dim Sum Buffet

2013-09-15T23:30:00.000-05:00

Bro was on leave and mom not working on weekday so I decide to bring mom out for a family meal! So DIM SUM what else, hahaha! I gotten another groupon voucher but at Turf City this time round!

I am curious what are the differences between the branches because I read rave reviews for the FORUM restaurant but not much on Turf City!

The menu is almost the same with a few different dishes offered.

But seems like the quality are almost the same!

This is You tiao wrapped in chang fen, was a BLAH too, tasted weird to me!

I prefer just you-tiao!

Century Egg porridge is blah too, bland!

Need some youtiao, hahaha ...

Carrot cake is good, I likey!

This is the THW copycat; char siew bun!

But they named it the Mexican Char siew bun and we were curious ...

The COffee Custard bun was a flop at Turf City, the salted egg were overcooked.

YUCKS!

Prawn 'her cho', "erm" too.

Braised beef noodle, "erm" too!

Still, most the the usual dim sums are quite nice and fresh, and with the pricing (38 for 2pax), I think it's value for money.

Will I go back? Of course, maybe I need a DIM SUM break for a month or TWO?

Hahahaa ~

Big A$$ F21 Plastic Sunglass

2013-09-15T12:49:00.001-05:00

my F21 is here, and I love my new sunglasses to bit!

Hahahaha make my face feels so tiny ...

Groupon Voucher Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant Dim Sum Buffet

2013-09-12T15:00:00.000-05:00

After waiting for sometime, I finally gotten a Dim Sum buffet from Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant. Judging from the reviews online Ah Yat Abalone Forum seems to have the best reviews between the Turf City Branch, and Jurong Branch! So I wait and wait and WAIT for this FORUM branch's deal!

We made a reservation for 11.30pm and were the first few customer to arrive and was escorted to the 4 or 5 level, I couldn't remember!

We were sat down and were given a Order paper and we had to pay for the tea and peanut by cash; which is compulsory.

In total we had 20 plates of dim sum.

There were actually quite a good variety of DIM SUMS that we like.

I don't really like DIM SUM that are too fanciful, and always preferred the more traditional dimsums!

Some of the highly recommended by ME!

The Chee Chong Fun skin was really thin!

Look at the PRAWNS!

This is the Banana Fritter with Red bean paste!

This is the first time I had a Salted egg custard bun, and it was really good and fresh!

VERDICT:

I LOVE it, their Dim Sums are HIGHLY recommeded!

Will definitely come back if there is a similar deal!

Hubba wanted to try out either the Turf City or Jurong Bird Park branch but I am a tad hesistant ...

I missed Dim Sum already, hahaha.

Taobao-ING ...

2013-09-05T05:25:00.001-05:00

It started with this ...

And then we get some stuffs for TOto ...

Pet stuffs is EXPENSIVE in Singapore, even a normal raffia rope toy is EX.

Then I sneak a few of my stuffs ...

And find some westie design in Taobao SO CUTE!

But the gal design, Westie eating watermelon is OOS; so sad ...

My crafting of course next and find out the crafts are FREAKING CHEAP!

I want to BUY EVERYTHING BACK!

But I have to control abit because I still has ALOT of stuffs being shipped back from USA, arrrrrghhhh and they are taking like FOREVER!

THE BAD of buying from TAOBAO, everything look so CHEAP! I just wanted a few pieces of felt to complement my Amis, and looks what I gotten. A ONE FULL SET Of FELTING material! Felting looks fun too, maybe ... Hahaha too much time on hand, think too much!

So excited, hope they arrives soon!

1-1 Lunch Buffet @ Swiss Cafe (Lousy Service, soso Quality and limited Quantity!)

2013-08-24T23:30:00.000-05:00

With and without filter hahaha, just being VAIN!

We were queuing for our reservation!

The rest of the gang; LATE!

So long never eat buffet, I am so excited ...

I only like this Ketchup Prawn Dish!

Verdict : VERY LIMITED selection of food.

1-1 so they cut the selection in half TOO?

Only one type of Salmon Sashimi and the sushi selection is pathetic and the quantity is pathetic too! Each time the server takes out the tray, its SWIPE clean! I didn't bother to hover about BECAUSE we are at SWISS CAFE, why the hell do we need to 'beg' for food!? We should be given enough QUANTITY not to need to HOVER about just waiting for the sushi to come!

The cooked category is WORST; one chicken dish, one fish dish, one veggie dish and one prawn dish. A few different RICE only and one type of damn disgusting sweet ONION SOUP! And I thought 'wah' Cheese fondue but there are only some dry bread, and another 2-3 dish for cheese fondu which I cannot even remember WHAT!

At the Carving station, only a LAMB leg and nothing else!

And worst of all, the carving station and spaghetti station is taken care of by ONE LADY! So you either wait freaking long at either of the station! HALO, SWISS CAFE!?

Limited variety of dessert, FULL STOP!

DON'T WASTE $$$, TIME AND EFFORT

Don't BOTHER!

Thank god for the company!

Geylang Beef Horfun AGAIN!

2013-08-16T23:30:00.000-05:00

ICHIBAN!

126 @ Serangoon

2013-08-12T23:30:00.000-05:00

Trying out the 126 at Serangoon, gf says that this is their 'kitchen'.

Luckily we visited their FB page before we came, this branch closes at 2am.

Ordered the usual ...

But seems like most stuffs are better at the Geylang Branch ...

The pig intestine is tough and chewy, not nice!

Verdict; I prefer the Geylang branch, and nope won't come back again. Their chilli is way off too.

Bak Chor Mee @ Bedok 85 Fenghsan Center

2013-08-06T23:30:00.000-05:00

G.fren is back from HK and we were off to Airport to fetch her home; she suggested supper here @ Bedok.

And the famous Bak Chor Mee is here.

We ordered Or Jian too!

I think MY OWN version of Bak Chor Mee is sooooooooooooooooo MUCH BETTER!

Tak Po @ Chinatown blaaaaaaah

2013-08-05T23:55:00.000-05:00

Was around the area at chinatown and was intending to go Siahuat PLUS, I had craving for dimsum, so we just walked in with my mom and started ordering.

The prices looks reasonable but of course we know why now...

I think the only freshly made-in-store is the Chee Cheong Fun ...

And these are good ...

The rest just tasted 'frozen-factory' to me.

We all agree the 凤抓 is the worst, the sauce is flourly THICK and just sweet.

Porridge is BLAND!

And too watery ...

I bet this is more for 'foreigners' than local?

Reasonably priced blaaaaaaaah dim sum!

Will never go back ...

566 Cafe @ Mandai Estate

2013-08-04T00:40:00.004-05:00

We find this phamplet on our cafe about this quaint steamboat place at Mandai Estate, and we are curious! What is a restaurant doing at Ulu ulu Mandai Estate. A google shows that it is actually a tze-char place. So after a 4 hours visitation with TOto, I am famished!

And decide to go for it since we have to drive home via Mandai Road and this cafe is right at the end of WOodlands Road/Mandai Road.

It's situated at 566 Woodlands Road, Mandai Estate, Singapore.

See the Dinosaur head?

THAT will be the entrance into the restaurant.

Seems like Fish Head steamboat is their 主打!

Hubba ordered a Ee mee, and he finds them okok.

My Horfun also okok, but these 2 dish are not heavily MSG-ed, and they gives 2 REAL prawns hahaha!

We both LOVE the salted egg sotong!

The whole meal cost us 19$.

4$each for our ee mee and horfun, 10$ for the sotong and 1.50$ for their coke.

NO GST, and no Service charge, plus free shipping!

We see some outdoor seating, hmmmmmm maybe can bring TOto for dinner here!

And we spotted a beer garden next door!

Interesting ...

Gurney Drive flop ...

2013-08-01T15:14:00.001-05:00

Hubba saw this restaurant at AMK a few months back and has been looking for an opportunity to come visit for their Penang Laksa. After a tedious 2 hour visiting TOto today, we decide to eat out and Hubba again suggested Gurney drive. FOr some unknown reason I am quite reluctant to go, and gave traffic jam, as and excuse or maybe try another new restaurant at Mandai to convince him otherwise; but all was being shot down and I am driven to CWP!

Luckily when we reached there wasn't any queue, and I ordered their PREMIUM PENANG fried Kway teow. I certainly don't think it taste any difference, and maybe I can get better CKT from any kopitiam! It's just normal CKT with more prawns and I am certainly being charged a PREMIUM for it!

Hubba Penang Laksa was indeed SOURISH, but he said it's just normal and he had had better.

Belachan Chicken wing?

Tasted like Har Cheong Kai to me.

Penang Chendol was a "PLEASE don't murder the dessert!"

IT was actually gross with the Coconut Cream all frozen on top! The cream was toooooooooooooooo thick, and after we stir up everything there were clumps of coconut cream floating everywhere.

GROSS!

But to be fair, the Chendol were waived because we didn't enjoyed it.

Ok, I don't think I will ever go back whether the chendol were waived or not ...

ONLINE F21 from Singapore!

2013-08-01T01:08:00.000-05:00

My hubba says everyone has an addiction and mine will be ONLINE SHOPPING! It doesn't matter whether I buy in the end, but I enjoy the process of adding all the stuffs into my basket and then decide what I want and don't want and then in the end I didn't buy anything ...

But of course when I REALLY do want to buy I find the process of eliminating PAINFUL because I cannot possibly BUY EVERYTHING!?

But then OF COURSE I have to choose something, and I have to get the MOST out of least $$$.

I seriously do not know HOW TO SHOP in PERSON anymore ...
