Mayawati was born on 15 January 1956 at Shrimati Sucheta Kriplani Hospital, New Delhi in a Hindu Dalit family. Her father, Prabhu Das, was a post office employee at Badalpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The sons in the family were sent to private schools, while the daughters went to “low-performing government schools”. Mayawati studied for her B.A. in 1975 at the Kalindi Women’s College and obtained her LLB from the Campus Law Centre, part of the University of Delhi. She completed her B.Ed. from VMLG College, Ghaziabad. In 1976. She was working as a teacher in Inderpuri JJ Colony, Delhi, and studying for the Indian Administrative Services exams, when Dalit politician Kanshi Ram visited her family home in 1977. Rest as we know is history.

Mayawati is a self made woman who rose in status to become a Dalit icon through the dint of her own hard work and intelligence. Her political achievements apart, she became a symbol of hope to millions of Dalits all over the nation. When the history of modern India is written she will not be a mere foot note but a heroic figure. No one can take that away from her. Sure she has her faults but before criticizing her one must remember that when she started out, she was a Dalit, an untouchable and a woman. Three biggest stumbling blocks in India. To start from there and reach where she is now is a monumental achievement.

Highlights of the chart

Chandra Kundli is much more powerful than Lagna Kundli. Lagna Lord Saturn in the eleventh and tenth lord Venus in the second house create a powerful Raj Yog.
In Chalit Bhav Kundli, Saturn and Jupiter are both exalted. Their Dashas will give the results of exalted planets.
Saturn and Mars are placed in Pushkar Navamsa which enhances their ability to give favorable results.
Sun is Vargottam but not fully strong. It indicates financial issues cropping up from time to time. Sixth lord Jupiter in the second only adds to the problem.
In the Janma chart, eleventh lord Venus in the eighth house is not good for financial success.
Yog Karak Mars is strong but placed with eighth Lord Saturn and Rahu in the fifth house. This reduces Mars’s ability to give promised results. In Panchdha Maitri Chakra, Saturn and Mars are bitter enemies.
Mars wins the planetary war and gives good results. His union with eighth Lord Saturn and Rahu spoils the Raj Yog.
Retrograde Jupiter in the second house will not give good results pertaining to finances and acquisition of ruling powers as he is primarily the lord of sixth house.
Seventh lord Saturn placed in the fifth with Mars and Rahu prevents marital happiness. It also gives health issues connected to reproductive system.

Mayawati was born in Dhanishtha Nakshatra which gives a razor sharp intelligence and encyclopedic knowledge. There is strong bedrock of spirituality in people born in this Nakshatra and they would never think of harming any one by thought, word or deed. They are patient people and always reserve their judgment or disagreements till the end. This however doesn’t mean that others can wrong them and get away with it. Revenge is prompt and certain. If something cannot be avenged immediately, it is filed away. But one can rest assured that retribution will eventually come.

They are self-reliant persons and want to make their mark by the dint of their own hard work. They have a drill sergeant attitude towards life. Everything is well ordered and runs like clockwork.

As mentioned above they are a highly intelligent persons and capable of attaining really high education. They are highly secretive by nature and do not reveal their plans to anyone. Any senior post, which requires secrecy and good administration, is fit for the Dhanishtha born. They are quick witted and in an argument are miles ahead of others.

We shall now study the Lagna, second, fourth, seventh, ninth and tenth houses as they directly pertain to acquisition of power and its application to governance.

Lagna

Lagna chart gets a Bhav Bal of 470 units and is very strong. Lagna Lord Moon although strong in Shadbal is without any Paksh Bal and completely unfavorable. Saturn and Ketu aspect on Moon is not good for Ms. Mayawati.

In Chandra Kundli, Lagna is very strong with 519 units. Lagna Lord Saturn is also very strong with 151% of required strength. Saturn makes a Raj Yog with fourth lord Mars placed in his own Rashi in the eleventh house. Tenth lord Venus in the second house makes her fortunate and helps her rise very high in life.

Mayawati will enjoy good health and remain a strong leader of the downtrodden masses. No one can take that away from her. She will remain a permanent star on UP firmament.

The second house

The second house rules over the ruling powers, stored wealth, face, voice and domestic happiness. It is adequately strong but not overly so. It gets a Bhav Bal of 432 units. The second lord Sun is 98% strong and mostly unfavorable. This is a problem which needs to be sorted out. There may be dearth of money from time to time which in politics can become a serious threat.

In the Chandra Kundli, Saturn becomes the second lord and is placed nicely in the eleventh house. Saturn is strong and very beneficial but its close Yoga with Mars is not welcome as it brings bad health. Mayawati will be lucky with respect to real estate. The Chandra Kundli strong in terms of finances and alleviates the problems caused by weak sun in the birth chart.

Rahu is placed in the eleventh house in Chandra Kundli but he falls in Nidhanamsha and spoils the earning potential.

The second lord Sun in the birth chart is weak and Saturn aspects it. Saturn carries the aspect of Rahu and Mars with it. In Chandra Kundli, The second lord is connected to Rahu and Mars. The speech is therefore rough and acidic. There is absolutely no polish and sweetness in it. While this may be okay with her close supporters, it puts off the general public that watches her on TV. This is a major public relation failure. She absolutely must work on her voice, tonality, diction and content.

Fourth house

Fourth house is moderately strong with 419 units. Its lord Venus is also adequately strong and overall beneficial. Placement of Venus in the eighth house is not helpful at all but since it falls in Putramsha it becomes somewhat helpful.

In Chandra Kundli, the fourth house gets 437 points and its lord Mars gets 124% of the required Shadbal. Both are good. Mars is neutral as far as its behavior is concerned. Overall the fourth house is satisfactory. Under favorable transit and Dasha-Bhukti Mayawati will get a gratifying response from the public.

Seventh house

In political terms, the seventh house represents how a leader is regarded by the masses. One may call it the public relation ability of a leader. The seventh house in the Lagna chart gets 519 points and is very strong. The seventh lord Saturn is also very powerful in Shad Bal and benign. In Chalit Bhava Saturn becomes exalted, and its good results will be available whenever the Bhukti of Saturn operates. Saturn is afflicted by Mars which reduces the good results.

In the Chandra Kundli, too the seventh house is very strong and the so is the seventh lord Moon. Moon however suffers from the defect of almost zero Paksh Bal. Saturn and Ketu both aspect Moon. This has serious ramifications for smooth running of public relations machine. There will be hiccups and it will occasionally sputter to a stop.

If we relate these findings to her personal relationships, one thing that emerges clearly is that there is no happiness in that area.

The ninth house

This house rules over religion, spirituality, higher knowledge, favors from government, wisdom, fortune, philosophy, righteousness and kingdom. The lord of the ninth house Jupiter is retrograde and placed in the second house. In the Chalit Bhava Jupiter is exalted. However Jupiter primarily gives the results of the sixth lord as the Mool Trikon Rashi falls there. The Bhukti of Jupiter will bring personal gains to Mayawati but mostly Jupiter’s role will be restrictive as far as finances are concerned. Jupiter is placed in Vyayamsha so it would be futile to expect much wealth from it.

In the Chandra Kundli, the ninth house is very strong and its lord Mercury is placed in the Lagna itself. This indicates that the native is a self made woman and will earn much money through her own efforts.

The overall results are satisfactory but the image of Mayawati as floating in a sea of wealth would be a figment of imagination.

The tenth house

The tenth house from Lagna is strong though not overly so. Its lord Mars is powerful, a Yog Karak but neutral in its behavior. Mars union with Rahu and Saturn is bad overall.

In the Chandra Kundli, tenth lord Venus goes to the second house in a friendly sign Aquarius. Venus is strong and beneficial. The lord of second house Saturn is placed in the eleventh with the eleventh lord Mars. This is a nice linkage and helpful for getting ruling powers. The Bhukti of Venus will always prove helpful.

Mercury-Venus runs until 19/9/2018 and indicates that Mayawati should be able to get a fair share of the UP assembly seats. More clarity will emerge after the poll dates are published as the third level of Dasha will then be known.

Transits

Jupiter transits to favorable ninth house on 11/8/2016. This is a helpful transit and blesses her with financial benefits. profession flourishes and one gains status and fame. One meets success everywhere. There is also a distinct leaning towards spirituality.

Jupiter transits over the 64th Navamsa from Moon from 25/7/2016 to 12/8/2016. This is a very beneficial transit and will help her both personally and politically.

Saturn transits to the unfavorable twelfth house from Moon on 26/1/2017. This actually begins the Sade Sati for Mayawati. Saturn has the Paya of iron and brings domestic troubles and unhappiness. Losses in business and profession, unsound health and strained relations with relatives are likely. Enemies will create troubles.

Transits over Bhrigu Bindu

Rahu transits over this point from 23/4/2019 to 3/8/2019. This is going to be a tough time for her. Health issue may bog her down, politically too its a period of extreme tension.

Mayawati should wear a genuine Basra pearl – 7 to 10 carats – in a silver ring on the little finger of her right hand. In this case, the bigger is better.

She would also benefit immensely by wearing a seven Carat red Burmese Ruby in a gold ring on the ring finger of her right hand.

A seven carat coral worn in a silver ring on the ring finger of her left hand will also help tremendously.

Propitiation of Saturn and Rahu will remove most of the problems from her way.

I give below the results of planetary transits for each Rashi. A Rashi is the sign where the Moon is placed in your horoscope. It is not the sun sign of western astrology. Aries: Some health niggles may keep bothering you. Transit of Mars and Saturn through the eighth house creates ill health, obstacles and frustration. You feel like dropping everything and running away somewhere far, far away. From 11th August onward, Jupiter also moves to unfavorable sixth house. A secret worry and lack of money will keep you worried. Regular visit to Shani temple on Saturdays until 26th January 2017 is urgently needed.

Taurus: Retrograde Saturn aspects the fourth house and the fourth lord Sun to keep mother’s health indifferent. A vehicle is likely to demand an inflated bill for maintenance. Will Arvind Kejriwal win 2017 Punjab elections?

The Election Commission of India has declared that Punjab will go to elections in February 2017. The ruling SAD-BJP government, led by Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, will face voters five years after coming back to power in 2012. The chief contenders are going to be Akali Dal, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party.

In this Blog we shall consider the future of Arvind Arvind kejriwal in Punjab in the light of coming elections. His birth chart is given below.

Arvind kejriwal was born in the last quarter of Krittika Nakshatra. Krittika produces very intelligent persons. The problem is that they are fickle minded and change their views and their goals rather frequently. they flit like butterfly from one goal to another without weighing up the advantages or disadvantages of their actions. Boredom with the project in hand is their main enemy. They dislike even a little encroachment on their ego and freedom. Any relationship that affects their ego and freedom will not last long. Being intelligent they make good advisors to others but when it comes to advising themselves they are utter failures.

they are determined, energetic and tenacious people and do not take no for an answer easily. They have the ability to make huge amounts of money but more often than not their possessions are not spectacular. This stems from their deep-seated desire to remain self-reliant and not take obligations and help from others. The important thing to remember is that whatever they do, they do honestly, and without using unfair means.

They have an innate desire to serve humanity but often fall flat on their face while pursuing these philanthropic dreams. The reasons for this are clear; they will not crook their finger, nor allow others to do so. Their supporters who are there for self-promotion slowly squeeze them out. Their sincerity causes their downfall, and causes frustration to build up. This frustration leads to anger that keeps on accumulating and explodes one day. Once they explode they become dangerous as they do not know when to stop.

They are however able to earn fame and recognition in public life despite the problems listed above. They are unable to change according to the circumstances. This is their main weakness. They march to their own tune and wish that others will follow them, meanwhile they keep the right of changing tunes to themselves.

Electoral battle

Fighting elections is essentially about grabbing ruling powers and all the privileges that go with it. The only difference compared to just a hundred years ago is that while in earlier battles the soldiers lost their lives trying to grab power, in the present times they only lose their votes.

Six houses in astrology have a close connection with power. These are the Lagna, the second house, the fourth house, the seventh house, the ninth house and the tenth house. We shall now study these houses closely.

Lagna

The Lagna is the foundation of the horoscope and the most important house. It is so because it depicts the individual, his thought process and his personality. A horoscope may be bristling with Raj Yogs but if the Lagna is weak nothing good can happen to the individual. The most sumptuous meal is valueless for a person who has weak digestion. A strong Lagna on the other hand can overcome all adversities with aplomb.

Lagna is Arvind kejriwal’s chart is very strong; primarily because the Janma and Chandra Lagna are the same. The good and bad things in life will come with great force. In addition third lord Moon is exalted in the Lagna. Moon represents the mind and in this chart the leadership ability. Exalted Moon gives a strong mind and an ability to lead.

Venus becomes the lord of the Lagna and is placed in the fourth house in Leo. This placement is however deceptive because in the Chalit Kundli Venus is placed in Neech state in the fifth house. It is true that Neech Bhang exists but it done by Mercury which is weak in Shad Bal. Venus is not at all favorable and will not give beneficial results. The overall results of the Lagna are moderately positive.

The second house

This governs ruling powers, accumulated wealth and the quality of speech. The house gets a strength of 446 units which is adequate. The second lord Mercury is weak in Shad Bal with only 97% of required strength. The only good thing about Mercury is his ratio of desirable/undesirable results which is okay. In the Chalit Bhav Mercury is placed in the fifth house in exaltation and Rahu aspects it. This suggests that the speech will not be very impressive and be rather plebeian. Mercury overall gives positive results. This suggests that Arvind kejriwal will be blessed with ruling powers and accumulate a fair amount of wealth. This advantage is however not sufficient enough to keep him in power over a prolonged period.

Fourth house

The fourth house is a very important house in a politician’s chart because it pertains to the common man or the average voter. A politician without a strong fourth house is merely going to be a party functionary without having a grass root support. These are the people who are brought into the public office through the Rajya Sabha route. A strong fourth house is essential to have grass root support. The fourth house in Arvind kejriwal’s chart is very strong suggesting that he will have a strong support base.

Fourth lord Sun is placed at zero degrees and twenty nine minutes. It is not capable of giving its full beneficial results. Sun is overall favorable. Sun is the Karak or significator of ruling powers and governance. The strength of Sun is not adequate to keep Arvind kejriwal in power over an extended period. It will be very difficult for him to repeat his performance in Delhi – even in Delhi.

The seventh house

This house relates to relationships. In an individual’s chart it shows the strength and character of his relationships. In a larger sense it also depicts how one relates to the people around him. It can also be called the house of public relations. This along with the fourth house determines the image one has in the public. It shows the public perception of a person.

The seventh house is weak and shows that relationships are not beneficial and lasting. The seventh house is ruled by Mars which is placed in Neech Awastha in the third house. Mars however achieves complete Neech Bhang and becomes favorable. The ratio of desirable/undesirable results in the case of Mars is completely vitiated. Rahu aspects Mars, as well as the seventh house and being a separatist planet tends to spoil all relationships. Arvind kejriwal is going to face serious problems connected to public image and his personal life.

The ninth house

Ninth house is connected to religion, spirituality, higher knowledge, wisdom, fortune, philosophy, favors from government, righteousness and kingdom. This house is weak and shows that Arvind kejriwal gives scant attention to everything that is mentioned above.

Ninth Lord Saturn is Neech in the Lagna as well as Navansh chart. Additionally it is placed in the twelfth house of loss, misfortunes, imprisonment, inferiority complex and self undoing. Saturn is not favorable at all and tends to eclipse his career. It is this 12th house placement of Saturn that did not allow Arvind kejriwal to rise in the hierarchy of his job as an Income Tax officer.

Saturn becomes the lord of both ninth and tenth houses and in a politician’s chart this is the last place one wants his ninth and tenth lord to be.

The tenth house

The tenth house represents kingdom, ruling powers, government, governance, reputation and fame. This is the most important house in a politician’s chart. It is absolutely imperative that this house and its Lord be very strong. If both these conditions are not met the person will not be able to attain power; in case he does grab it he won’t retain it for long. The tenth house in Arvind Kejriwal’s chart is really weak with just 372 units of strength. The tenth lord Saturn is also weak as it is placed in the twelfth house and in Janma and Neech in Navamsa chart.

The situation prevalent in the ninth and tenth houses does not generate much hope for the political future of Arvind kejriwal.

Discussion of Dashamsha chart

Dashamsha chart or D-10 is the most important divisional chart when assessing the profession of an individual. Tenth house denotes the highest level a man can rise to while D-10 gives an insight into the promises of the tenth house. One can call D-10 an X-ray of the tenth house. When analyzing D-10 we look at the placement of Lagna lord and tenth lord in Dashamsh chart. We then look at the Lagna and tenth lord of the Dashamsh chart. Finally we look at Sun and Saturn which represent the ruling and serving classes.

Venus the Lagna Lord is placed in the twelfth house in D-10 along with Neech Jupiter. This is a definite problem right there that restricts the growth of career. Saturn the tenth lord in the birth chart is placed in Neech state along with Rahu in the third house in D-10. This indicates a sudden shock and an end to the career in politics.

The Lagna Lord of D-10 is Saturn and as said above is placed Neech with Rahu. This is a really bad situation for Arvind kejriwal. The tenth lord of D-10 is Mars and it is placed in Neech awastha in the sixth house of the Dashamsha chart. This does not show any rise in career.

In D-10 Sun is placed in the seventh house in its own house. This indicates that Arvind kejriwal shall remain in politics as a nominal figure for some time. Saturn is placed Neech and indicates that people will become disillusioned with him rather soon and his following shall decline.

The last elections took place on seventh February 2015. The Dasha Bhukti running that day was Jupiter-Sun-Ketu-Ketu-Ketu. Jupiter is a neutral planet for Arvind kejriwal. Sun is favorable as mentioned above and on the polling day was very helpful in getting the votes of the common man for the AAP. Ketu is placed in the fifth house which is ruled by Mercury. Being a shadow planet it acted as Mercury who is the lord of the second and fifth houses. We have analyzed Mercury above and it comes out as a favorable planet. The net result was therefore very satisfying for Arvind kejriwal.

The coming elections in Punjab will be fought in February 2017. The Dasha-Bhukti running at that time is Jupiter-Mars-Mercury and runs from 20/1 to 9/3/2017. Jupiter is not very helpful. Mars is decidedly unfavorable, while Mercury is somewhat favorable. Arvind kejriwal’s performance will be lackluster in Punjab. All the projections of a huge win will be denied. The story however does not end there. Jupiter-Rahu begins on 7/7/2017 and runs until 18/11/2019. Rahu is connected to Neech Saturn in Chalit and Dashamsha chart. This period shall see a steady unraveling of AAP until the end of 2019. Saturn Mahadasha begins on 18/11/2019 and will finish the political career of Arvind kejriwal. There is no doubt about that.

For astrology buffs getting daily predictions becomes an addictive practice. The million dollar question is, whether like all addictions; does it have any real value?

Vedic astrology which is without any doubt the most ancient method of prediction and goes back atleast twelve thousand years – if not more – gives very accurate predictions on yearly, monthly, weekly and daily basis.

Broadly speaking, a person’s horoscope is made using the date, place and time of birth. This data is used to fix the placement of planets in a chart. It is just like pointing a camera at the sky and taking a snap shot of all stars and planets.

If we really did take a snapshot it will bring in a great deal of superfluous data which we don’t need. After all we need the position of only nine planets. It is for this reason that a chart has twelve houses and nine planets in Vedic astrology.

When we want to fix a point on the earth, we need the longitude and latitude of that place as accurately as possible. When we want to fix a point in time we use Dasha or period of the planet in operation and along with it we use the position of the transiting planets.

Let us understand this with an analogy. If I simply say that I am in my home, I am not giving complete information about myself. If I also provide the place in the home occupied by me, I am clarifying my position a lot more. My place in bed room, dining room, living room, toilet or my small garden gives an accurate assessment of my activities and frame of mind.

By using the placement of the planet in the birth chart in tandem with the current position of the same planets in the sky very accurate predictions are made. Daily horoscope is not a biggie for Vedic astrology.

In an individual chart it is very possible to find what to expect on a daily basis because we have the exact data of Dasha and Transit. In an article published in a magazine it is impossible to provide any true information. In absence of an accurate birth chart only generalizations can be made. These may be sweet sounding but are definitely inaccurate.

Ninety percent of predictions made in press or media are based on solar horoscope signs, which firmly put them in the realm of pure fiction. It is for this reason that they resemble white candy floss. There is too much volume, very little substance.

Honestly speaking, daily horoscope also called ‘Horoscope For Today’ should provide real and quality content and not fictitious assumptions. Alas it is done every day and will continue to do.

Vedic astrology is a combination of science and art and in the hands of an expert a very reliable method of prediction. It gives not only the general trends operating in a person’s life but also gives exact date and time to start something new.

Retrograde planets in Hindu Vedic Astrology

Retrograde planets are those planets that appear to move backwards. Except Sun and Moon, all planets including Rahu and Ketu have retrograde motion from time to time. Rahu and Ketu mostly have backward motion compared to others but during retrogression they appear to move forward like other seven planets.
In reality, the planet is not moving backwards only appearing to do so. We can relate it to the experience when we overtake a slow moving car on a highway. As we accelerate past the car, it appears to be moving backwards even though it is not. This illusion can be compared to retrogression.

All planets give their best results when away from Sun. Proximity to Sun reduces their beneficial effects. When they come within 12° of Sun they are called Ast or combust. Such planets lose all capacity for doing good.
Astronomically, retrogression of a planet can happen only when it is closest to earth (and farthest from Sun). Since a retrograde planet is closest to earth its effect on life on earth is at its peak. This is why in Vedic astrology a retrograde planet is given the same importance as an exalted planet (Uchha Grah).

Mantreshwar the celebrated writer of Phaldeepika opines that a retrograde planet gives the results of an exalted planet even when it is placed in an enemy sign or sign of debilitation. Saravali differs somewhat and stresses that malefic retrograde planets cause fruitless journeys, miseries and aimless wanderings. This can be the subject of a research because the Cheshta Bal of a planet is maximum when it is retrograde.

It is seen that a Retrograde Yog Karak Saturn gives very good results during its Dasha-Bhuktis. However if Saturn is placed in Lagna, its results can be quite unfavorable. Retrograde Jupiter and Mercury in Lagna will give good results. Retrograde Venus in the fourth house will also give better results.
Retrograde planets give their results from the house they are placed in but they also give their results from the preceding house as well. For example if Retrograde Jupiter is placed in the seventh house then he will give the results of being placed in the sixth house as well.

For the results of a house to be available, it is essential that the Dasha or Bhukti of that house lord be going on. The Dasha or Bhukti of a planet associated or aspecting that house lord will also bring about the desired results. These results will however be available only when Jupiter and Saturn have both aspected the house or the house lord with in a period of one year either in the direct or retrograde motion. Jupiter blesses an event and Saturn gives the permission for it to happen. When all these conditions are met the event occurs.

If a retrograde planet is placed in its exaltation sign, it ceases to give its exalted results and begins to act as a planet in fall.
The Bhukti of a retrograde planet in the Maha Dasha of Rahu or Ketu, usually brings about the restoration of losses incurred earlier. Money given as loan and written off as a loss may be recovered during this period. Same is true of the Maha Dasha of a retrograde planet and Bhukti of Rahu.
In Prashna Shastra or Horary astrology, retrograde planets play a different role. If a retrograde planet closely aspects Lagnesh or Karyesh, it leads to failure of the Prashna. If the aspect is not close on Lagnesh or Karyesh, it indicates hindrances for the person asking questions.
If the retrograde planet is a benefic and lord of fifth or ninth house in the Prashna chart, and it is related somehow to Lagnesh or Karyesh it indicates the repeat of an action or process. In a marriage alliance it can indicate a renewed vigor after some cooling period. It usually leads to successful completion.
If a malefic planet becomes the lord of an auspicious house the events mentioned above will happen but with obstacles and mental tension.
Whether benefic or malefic, ownership of sixth, eighth or twelfth houses by retrograde planets is unfavorable. If they own these houses they should not be related in any way to Lagnesh or Karyesh.

For Pisces, the seventh house which is ruler of male female relationships in a horoscope is occupied by Kanya Rashi (Virgo).

Virgo is the sign of exaltation of planet Mercury. The strength of the seventh Bhava and Mercury thus have a major say in the happiness available from relationships and marriage. If Mercury is strong it gives a great deal of happiness in life due to two reasons. Firstly it guarantees a youthful, good looking, mature, and well settled partner. Secondly it gives general happiness, real estate and comfort of fine vehicles. Mother plays an important role in the life of such an individual. Mercury placed in the fourth or seventh house will give excellent results. In the fourth house he is strong by virtue of being placed in his own house. In the seventh house he is exalted and his beneficial results increase manifold.

Mercury becomes ‘Neech’ in Lagna and unless there is Neech Bhang, relationship or marriage will be adversely affected.

Mars and Mercury are strong enemies to each other. For a happy marriage, Mars must not influence the fourth or the seventh house and their lord Mercury. Mangal Dosh for Pisces Ascendant gives decidedly bad results by causing injury to the partner. Mars would be best placed in the second or ninth house where his capacity to do mischief is limited. In the eleventh house – the place of it’s exaltation it will cause severe problems connected to children. This happens because it will occupy the fifth house from the seventh and cause injury to the wife’s reproductive system. Its exalted aspect on the fifth house of the native will cause self-abortions to the partner.

For men, Venus becomes the Karak or significator for marriage. For Pisces ascendant, Venus is a bad planet because she owns the eighth house and becomes a confirmed representative of the eighth house and every negativity it represents. Exalted Venus (in Lagna) will halt all progress in life and is very bad news indeed. Venus should be away from fifth, ninth, tenth and eleventh houses.

For women, Jupiter becomes the Karak for husband and the male children. Jupiter in Lagna, fourth and tenth house will give very good results. Jupiter needs to be free from all malefic influences.

The seventh house of male female relationships in any horoscope is the arbiter of happiness or sorrow in relationship and marriage. The seventh house in a Capricorn birth chart is occupied by Cancer. The strength of the seventh house and its lord Moon will have a great impact on all unions in life.

Moon represents the mind and emotional nature. Moon is a highly changeable planet and changes its size on a daily basis. Cancer is a Char Rashi (movable sign) and also represents change. Relationship with a Cancer born therefore is not very unpredictable.

To be strong, Moon needs to be either in her exaltation or in her own sign. The actual placement of planets will greatly modify the good and bad results but this theoretical analysis will hold true.

The bird and bull story.

Here is an interesting story I read many years ago. It has remained stuck in my memory as it has some very practical lessons for me.

Once there was a bird that got left behind during the winter migration. She started late and lonely on her long journey to warmer climes. The flight was long and tiring and it was very cold. Soon it was snowing and the bird started to lose height. She flew lower and lower until she was exhausted and finally crashed to the ice-covered ground in a pasture.

She was almost frozen and would have died had a bull grazing next to her not decided to empty his bowels just then. As the poop fell on her, she was enveloped in its warmth and began to thaw. In her delirious state the bird imagined she was in heaven and started to sing with joy. Just then a hungry cat who was passing nearby heard her song. In a trice the cat extricated the bird from the poop and ate her.

This story has three morals.

People who poop all over you need not be your enemies.

People who take you out from shit need not be your friends. And most importantly,

When in deep shit keep quiet.

So next time you are in trouble and start a prayer think of all the ramifications first. What ever is happening is happening for a reason and should be allowed to take its course. Develop a thick skin and wait it out. Intervene only if it becomes a matter of great concern. Even then wait a little more. Patience has a virtue all its own.

When studying the love and marriage prospects of a birth chart, the seventh house becomes the most important house. The strength of the seventh house and its lord gives detailed information about how happy or sad will the relationships be.

In the case of Sagittarius Ascendant, the seventh house is occupied by Mithun Rashi (Gemini Ascendant). Mercury which owns Gemini also rules over Kanya Rashi (Virgo) which falls in the tenth house. Mercury thus rules over the seventh house of relationships and the tenth house of professional success, social status and ruling powers.

It can be said that strong Mercury will be instrumental in giving marital happiness and a successful career.

Mercury should be free of any association with arch enemies Mars and Ketu. It must be kept in mind that for Gemini and Virgo ascendants Mars always becomes a Marak or a killer planet.

The best place for the Mercury to occupy will be in the tenth house where he attains exaltation in Virgo. His placement in the seventh house will also be very beneficial; the added advantage being a youthful looking face and body.

Manglik Dosh becomes a little bit more of a problems for Sagittarius born as any aspect of Mars on the seventh house/seventh lord creates health issues for the partner.

In any horoscope the placement of the seventh lord in the second house is a problem. What it essentially means is that the ascendant lord of the partner has gone to the eighth house which is bad for partner’s health and married life. Mercury should also not be placed in the sixth house as that too reduces marital happiness.

Mercury placed in the fourth house will become Neech and one must carefully look at all the possibilities of the Neechbhang Yog.

For male horoscopes, Venus becomes the Karak or significator of marriage and sexual happiness. Venus owns two houses of injury (sixth and eleventh) for Sagittarius born – the Mool Trikon Rashi (primary) Sign falling in the eleventh house. If strong, Venus will give buoyant finances. Weak Venus will give poverty. If very weak there can be problems connected to semen and sperms.

For females Jupiter becomes the significator of husband and male children. Jupiter is the Lagna Lord for Sagittarius and his strength will give a healthy body and all types of happiness. One would be fortunate in terms of motherly love, real estate, fine vehicles and general happiness. Saturn must not aspect or associate with Jupiter. Saturn in second or third house will give good results.

Sagittarius born will benefit from propitiation of Jupiter, Mars and Sun as all three are key planets for them

The seventh house in any horoscope tells the story of relationships. The strength of the seventh house, and its lord gives an accurate assessment of how happy a person would be in his relationships with the opposite sex and also marriage.

In the case of Virgo rising, the seventh house is owned by Jupiter who also owns the fourth house. The fourth pertains to happiness, mother, vehicles and home. This dual ownership of Jupiter indicates that Virgo born prefer to have a life partner who is a home builder and makes efforts to make it a warm, cozy and happy place.

Jupiter however owns two Kendra houses and so suffers from Kendra Adhipatya Dosh. He becomes a Badhkesh and Markesh. What it simply means is that he becomes a malefic planet. For best results in marriage, Jupiter should occupy the seventh house, the second best position being the fourth. Jupiter in exaltation in the eleventh house is good for material purposes but bad for marriage. For sure the partner will be wealthy and influential but marital happiness takes a hit.

Should Venus occupy the seventh house, the personality will be magnetic and life partner very attractive. It would also give a huge amount of wealth as Venus gives the results of the second house. Such a person will be very fortunate and spiritual as well.

For Virgo women, the placement, strength and tendency of Jupiter becomes of paramount importance. This is so because besides owning houses of happiness and marriage, Jupiter also becomes the Karak or significator of marriage. Any malefic association, aspect or influence on Jupiter will tell heavily on the health of husband as well as male children. Jupiter should also be far away from twelfth lord Sun.

For men Venus becomes the Karak of marriage. If well placed she will bestow physical and sexual happiness. Venus placed in the second or seventh house will prove highly beneficial. A strong Venus also gives a long life to the spouse as he owns the eighth from the second house.

Saturn becomes the lord of the fifth and sixth houses. He therefore loses much of his beneficence as the lord of the fifth house. For children to be healthy and prosperous, Saturn should not be combust, or placed in his Neech sign in birth or Navamsa chart. Saturn would give satisfactory results in both the fifth and sixth houses.

Propitiation of Jupiter, Saturn and Venus will give excellent results.

It must be remembered that the actual placement will greatly alter the results of relationships and marriage. This is a theoretical assessment which will help in assessment of married life.

Cancer born people are highly emotional persons with an intuitive, perceptive and restless mind. They are very intelligent, bright and frugal with their money. The seventh house and its lord give an insight into the love life of an individual. In the case of Cancer rising, the seventh house is ruled by Saturn. If Saturn is strong the eighth house also becomes strong. Life span increases but so does the lack of money. It would help somewhat if Saturn was placed in the seventh house; it would however delay the marriage to quite an extent.

The average partner will be talkative, above average height and may tend to stoop. Complexion will be darkish. The desire for perfection may wear down the relationship.

For men Venus becomes the Karak or significator for marriage. She owns the fourth and eleventh houses and becomes a malefic. If strong the health will be adversely affected. If weak marriage will be without any physical pleasure.

For female Cancerians, Jupiter becomes the Karak for marriage and his Mool Trikon Rashi falls in the sixth house. He is therefore unable to give his best results.

Without any doubt, the placement of other planets in the chart will greatly modify the relationship status. What is written above is purely a theoretical analysis.

The quintessential requirements for a fashion model are a tall, svelte figure, confident walk, a love for acting and a good IQ. This profession is not for feeble minded and faint hearted.

In Vedic astrology we consider 27 Nakshatra or star groups that act like a template for different personalities. Most people with a rudimentary knowledge of so called Sun signs know a little bit about what their signs say about them. Very few know that Nakshatra give very pertinent and detailed information about a person’s persona. Before I go further I would like to explain what I mean when I say template.

Examples of templates

If you and I meet for the first time and you tell me that you live in Lutyn’s Delhi, It immediately tells me that you are connected to the government in some way. If you tell me that you live in a house located at Tughlaq road, my estimation of your political connections goes up. It tells me that you are a well-placed individual with a high status.

If you introduce yourself as a person living in Golf links area, you are likely to be an affluent and wealthy person or a diplomat. These are generalizations but they say a lot about you.

The Nakshatra that support a career as a fashion model are Ashwini, Bharani, Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha. I am not saying that other Nakshatras cannot produce a successful model but a large population of successful models will be peppered across these Nakshatra.

Taken sequentially, Ashwini, Bharani, , Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha are ruled by Ketu, Venus, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter ,Saturn and Mercury. The signs that these Nakshatra belong to are Aries, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio.

What are the prerequisites for a fashion model to be successful?

1. Lagna (rising sign) and Lagna lord (ruling planet) should both be strong.

2. The ascendant (rising sign) should ideally fall in signs that give a tall figure. These signs are Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Aquarius.

3. Venus and Mars should be powerful. They give the required grace and stamina to the walk.

4. The lord of the ninth house should be strong. This makes them famous and fortunate.

5. The lord of the tenth house should be strong and favorable. This is essential for career growth.

The million dollars question that arises is what happens if the factors mentioned above do not find fulfillment in your horoscope? Is one’s career then relegated to the backwaters without any hope of smooth sailing? The answer is most definitely not. By taking appropriate remedial measures, most problems can be remedied. The sails can be furled again to a welcoming wind. That fact that you are a model, means that you have a good horoscope to begin with. All that might be required is a little tweaking. It might take a bit of doing but it is always a good idea to spend time finding the key than to keep banging one’s head on an unyielding door.

People born in Taurus ascendant get Scorpio in the seventh house of their horoscope. It is for this reason that Venus becomes a potent injury causing planet and should she be placed in Lagna, will be the cause of a head injury very early on. Mars-Venus combination unless heavily influenced by Jupiter will be injurious. I mention this because in a male chart Venus becomes the Karak for the seventh house. It becomes very important to analyze her injury causing proclivities.

In female horoscopes, Jupiter is always the Karak for male child and husband. Jupiter becomes the lord of the eighth and eleventh houses. Weak Jupiter will certainly cause health problems. His placement in Rahu-Ketu axis, the ninth and twelfth houses will cause health issues for the husband. Ideally Jupiter should be strong and favourable in Shad and Vimshopak Bal.

People born in Aries ascendant generally get attractive life partners. This is especially true for men. This happens because the seventh house which rules over relationships with the opposite sex is governed by Venus. Venus is the planet of beauty and enjoyment of physical pleasures. As the seventh lord she generally brings beautiful and attractive women in their lives. For men, Venus is the Karak or significator of sexual pleasures. If Venus is strong and well placed in the horoscope she guarantees attractive women for the Aries born. This is true for women too but the men in their life will be dapper, attractive and eloquent. They may not be very masculine and rugged.

Venus becomes Marak or a killer for Aries born. She should therefore be free from malefic influences. Since Venus is both the Karak and lord of the seventh house, any bad influence will tell very heavily on life partner. Additionally she should not be placed in sixth or eighth houses in the Lagna chart and in sixth, eighth or twelfth houses in the Navamsachart.

Venus becomes exalted in the twelfth house and generally gives excellent results. Her exaltation however has a negative side too. It becomes very easy for a male to seduce women. This is so because planet of relationships and sex becomes exalted in the house of sexual intercourse and consummation of a relationship. The inference is obvious.

Mars and Venus together give a Raj Yog as well as Marak Yog. Should this Yog appear in the second house and Jupiter too joins, it produces wealth in which the spouse plays an important part. If this Yog appears in the third house, the wealth produced will be reduced. This happens because Mars in such a case will be placed in adverse houses from both his Rashis (signs).

Aries born will benefit from the propitiation of Mars, Sun, Jupiter and Venus. The first three can be strengthened by wearing a coral, Ruby and Yellow Sapphire. Venus can be strengthened by Shukra Mantra.

Can Arvind Kejriwal become the prime minister of India?

Arvind Kejriwal used the Anna wave brilliantly to capture the seat of CM in Delhi.
He then resigned to fight against Narendra Modi for the Lok Sabha seat from Varanasi. He was soundly defeated by a margin of Three hundred thousand votes. He then fought another battle for the CM ship of Delhi in 2015 and won sixty seven out of seventy seats in the assembly elections.
He currently rules over Delhi as its chief minister. In this Blog we shall examine his horoscope in detail to see if he is the horse for the course or just a flash in the pan. Horoscope details have been taken from popular Blogs on the internet. I take no responsibility for the veracity of the birth details.

The birth Lagna is Taurus which makes him stubborn, ambitious and proud. The mind is sharp and personality magnetic. Arvind is authoritarian and loves to rule. Personally, there is a great appetite for good food. He loves the comfort of his home. Krittika the Nakshatra under which he was born makes him a very intelligent person. This also makes him fickle minded and he changes his views and utterances frequently. One of the biggest problem with Krittika born is their tendency to flit like a butterfly from one idea to another. Goals change every so often and actions are taken without due forethought. Boredom with the work in hand becomes their main enemy. They dislike even a little encroachment on their ego and freedom.

Any relationship that impinges on their ego will not last long.
When examining a politician's chart, it is always a good idea to examine the Lagna, second, fourth and tenth houses. The Lagna because it gives an idea of the person's character and determination. The second house because it pertains to the ruling power, the fourth because it rules over masses and the tenth because it the house of king and governance. Let us examine all these house sequentially.

Lagna
Lagna is fairly powerful with a Bhavbal of 470 units. Lagna lord Venus is also fairly strong with 120% of the minimum required strength. Venus is however not very beneficial; its Isht/Kasht phal ratio being 13.93/46.07. This points towards some lingering health issue.

The second house
The second house has a Bhavbal of 446 units and is adequately strong. Second lord Mercury is however weak in Shadbal and gets only 90% of the required strength. Mercury is slightly beneficial but unable to give full results because of its weakness. The other house that Mercury rules is fifth and pertains to children, speculation and ability to give sound advice. Arvind will sustain losses in stock market, will have less than complete happiness from children and will drop the ball when when it comes to advising others. The mind is sharp and brilliant but Rahu in eleventh and Ketu in the fifth are completely unhelpful. Incidentally it also puts a question mark on Arvind's financial situation. It is nowhere as good as it appears to be.

The Karak for second house is Jupiter. He rules over eighth and eleventh houses and his placement in the fourth house is a cause of worry. Jupiter barely makes the grade and does not support the quest for high office. As the eighth lord placed in the fourth house he causes domestic bickering, and financial problems. There are problems connected to real estate and vehicles. The live stock and pets suffer and die.

The fourth house
The fourth house represents the masses and their support. A strong fourth lord helps with the support of the common man. Fourth house is very strong and ensures the support of general public. Fourth house lord Sun is also powerful and beneficial. The Dasha-Bhukti running during the run up to his first election was Jupiter-Venus-Saturn. It was the tenuous nature of the three planets involved that gave him a fractured mandate. The period immediately following it was Jupiter-Venus-Mercury. Mercury as said above is weak and led to his resignation on 14/02/2014.

He fought against Modi in April 2014 and was trounced soundly by a margin of 3.37 Lakh votes. This too was in the closing phase of Jupiter-Venus-Mercury period.

He fought his second election for Delhi assembly elections 7/2/2015 and won handsomely. The period running at that time was Jupiter-Sun-Ketu. As mentioned above, Sun and fourth house are both strong and beneficial. This gave him a total victory. Congress and the BJP were routed in the polls.

The tenth house
The tenth house is the bug bear of this chart as it is very weak with just 363 units. Its lord Saturn is Neech and placed in the twelfth house. Saturn attains Neechbhang but his presence in the 12th house is not good at all. Some people might point to the Vargottam nature of Saturn but still does not allow a rise to a preeminent position on the national scene.

Summation
Arvind has a powerful chart for a middle level player. There are however serious question marks over attainment of top position of the PM of India. The current period operating in his chart is Jupiter-Moon until 5/8/2016 and then Jupiter-Mars until 7/7/2017. Things will be rosy in the Moon sub period but serious problems will be faced in the Jupiter-Mars period. Bad health or injury is not ruled out.

Relations with media and public are likely to be affected. From 25/1/2017 to 18/3/2017 and then from 25/10/2017 to 27/12/2017 is a very vexing time for Arvind Kejriwal. Jupiter-Rahu Bhukti runs during this phase and will induce him to make very bad and emotional decisions which will prove costly in terms of public support and adulation.The events that happen during these phases will decide his political future.

Can Rahul Gandhi ever become the PM of India?

Rahul Gandhi for past few years has been the proverbial honey drop around which most of the media keeps buzzing. Some do it because they are paid to, some others because they are curious and then there are others who want to understand the reality of the man. Here is an astrological analysis of the man, his capability and the range of his flight to success.
The following chart is based on an Indian express report filed by Khaled Ahmed. Here is an excerpt. "Holy Family Hospital, which is celebrating its diamond jubilee, has meticulously maintained medical records in its yellowing registers. Started in 1953 by missionaries, the hospital has witnessed the births of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. Both have been identified as “baby Sonia Gandhi” in hospital records. Sonia Gandhi, then 23 years old, gave birth to Rahul on 19.6.1970 at 2.28 pm."

At the outset I would like to list the good points of the chart.
Lagna and Jupiter are Vargottam
Mars and Venus fall in Pushkar Navansha, though Mars is combust. These are powerful factors that help him a great deal.
The tenth house, its lord and Karak (Significator)
The tenth house contains Cancer. It has a Bhav Bal of 583 units, and its lord Moon is placed in the third house which happens to be the sixth from it. In the Navansha chart, Moon goes to the seventh house. Moon is pretty strong with full Pakshbal and slightly beneficial. The Lagna, the third house and tenth house are connected by the placement of their lords. The tenth lord is placed in the third house where he gives the following results as given in classics."The native travels frequently on journeys connected to profession. The siblings will be very helpful." In the Navamsa chart, Moon is placed in the seventh house which happens to be the fifth from where it is placed in the Birth chart. Jupiter aspects Moon and makes a Gaj Kesri Yog. This is a positive feature that helps with the ruling powers.The 64th Navamsa from Moon happens to be Cancer. Rahu traverses it from 8/9/2017 to 27/10/2017. This would prove to be a vexing period for Rahul Gandhi. He should be on his guard against injury and scandals. From birth Moon, this transit will take place over the 8th house.
Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Sun are the Karak planets of the tenth house. We shall mainly consider Sun as it the natural Karak for the King, Kingship and governance.
Sun is very powerful and beneficial and placed in the ninth house. As the eleventh lord he bestows a large paternal fortune and good fortune in life. He gives houses, vehicles and every conceivable luxury. It makes one a truth lover and spiritual. The strong placement of Sun is a good prop in his quest for becoming the PM of India.
The second house, its lord and Karak.
The second house rules over speech, food, ruling powers and extent of academic achievements. The second house gets 362 units of strength and is decidedly weak. Second lord Mars is not strong and weak in the Isht/Kasht ratio. Neech Saturn and Rahu both aspect Mars making it mostly unhelpful.
Mars rules over speech as well and this explains why Rahul is a bad orator and prone to fumble for words. Mercury, which represents intellect, eloquence and problem solving ability is also unfavorable and responsible for the gaffes that he often makes. It also explains his poor academic record. A life devoid of a steady and fruitful relationship/ marriage is also revealed by the adverse Mars.
Planet Jupiter is the Karak for the second house and has 130% of the required strength. Jupiter is Vargottam strong and beneficial. He takes up the slack created by weak Mars to some extent.
Synopses
Rahul Gandhi is basically a nice and kind person and not given to cheating at the personal level. His chart however does not have the power to elevate him to a kingship. His inability to analyze complex situations and communicate with the masses are the main stumbling blocks. The fifth house of giving sound advice to his subordinates is vitiated by the presence of Rahu and a Neech lord Saturn. It is not for him to make a team and lead it to victory. He will never become the PM of India.

Narendra Modi's future in 2016 and 2017. Part-II

In the last blog we examined Narendra Modi's future in 2016 and 2017 based on his birth chart. In this Blog we shall examine his oath taking chart as the PM of India and see what is revealed for years 2016 and 2017.

According to this horoscope,Narendra Modi is running the Maha Dasha of Lagna Lord Venus until end of the present term. Let us explore this Dasha.
Venus
Venus is placed in the seventh house in Aries along with Ketu. Venus aspects Lagna where her own Rashi Libra is situated and makes it very strong. Venus is strong in Shadbal and highly beneficial. Her placement in the seventh house of public relations indicates that public support to the government will be unflinching. In the Navansh chart, Venus is placed in the eleventh house with exalted Sun and indicates that the government will gain the support of the governing system or the bureaucracy. It also means that the bureaucratic means of bypassing the parliament logjam will be successful. Sun is the lord of the third house of communication. His placement in the house of gain points to very effective use of media in reaching out to people. In the Dashamsha chart also, Venus is connected to exalted Sun in the tenth house. The government will rule justly and without any partiality.

The first Antar Dasha is of Venus herself and runs until 6/4/2016. This is a good period to start the new term. Despite the politically charged and vitiated atmosphere, significant headway will be made in making India strong and prosperous.

The next Dasha is of Sun and shall run from 6/4/2016 to1/4/2017. Sun becomes the eleventh lord in the chart and is placed in the 8th house. This placement is deceptive because Sun is exalted in Navansh as well as Dashamsh charts. The Isht/Kasht ratio of Sun is 50.68/9.32. This period will be quite productive though full of turmoil (Sun is after all placed in the eighth house). The combined opposition will block every move of the government to carry out its policies. Sun represents the government and is exalted in Navansha.Despite opposition the government will be successful in its attempts to carry its will forward.

Elections in UP
The elections will most likely be fought in the Venus-Moon period. Moon becomes the lord of the tenth house and is placed in the seventh house where she makes a beautiful Yoga with Lagna Lord Venus and Yog Karak Saturn. Combative Mars aspects its Mool Trikon Rashi from the twelfth house and makes it powerful. This power gives extra energy to Moon. In Shadbal, Moon gets 118% of the minimum required strength. The Isht/Kasht ratio of Moon is 31.36/28.64. Moon is mildly powerful.
In the Moon chart however, things are much better. Here the tenth lord Saturn is placed powerfully in the seventh house. The lord of the fourth house Moon which represents the masses is placed in the ascendant with Lagna Lord Mars. BJP/NDA should be able to give a tough fight to Samajwadi Party and wrest a significant victory.

Narendra Modi’s horoscope in Year 2016 and 2017 - Part I

Undoubtedly, Narendra Modi is the most popular prime minister that India has seen since independence. His popularity ratings in the media and internet hover around 74%. What is remarkable is that the loss of Delhi and Bihar state assembly elections has not dented his image as a highly capable and honest man. To ascertain how 2016 will treat Narendra Modi we shall examine his birth chart and the oath taking ceremony charts. Let us take the birth chart first. A majority of competent astrologers take his birth details as 17/09/1950 at 11.00 in Mehsana Gujarat. The following chart results from this data. The year is taken to be of 360 days as enjoined by Maharishi Parashar.

Moon
Moon has a Shadbal of 100.09% and is fairly strong. She is how ever placed in her Neech Rashi Scorpio and is also weak in Pakshbal. Moon gets the Neechbhang as she is in a Kendra with her depositor. The problem of low Pakshbal remains. The ratio of the desirable/undesirable results for Moon is 12.34/47.66. Vimshopak Bal for Moon is 13. Moon is also the ninth lord placed in Lagna and as such suggests that the individual will be a self-made and become successful through his own efforts. Since the ninth lord combines with the Lagna lord in Lagna, Mr. Modi has been fortunate with power, riches and happiness.
Saturn
Saturn becomes the fourth lord and is nicely placed in the tenth house with seventh lord Venus. Retrograde Jupiter aspects both Venus and Saturn. The depositor of Saturn – Sun is placed in the eleventh house with exalted eleventh lord Mercury.
Saturn is strong with Shad Bal of 130%. His ratio of the desirable/undesirable results is 22.11/37.89. His Vimshopak Bal is 10. As the fourth lord placed in tenth house Saturn denotes political success. This placement of Saturn destroys enemies and makes him famous. The Antardasha of Saturn ends on 11/10/2016.
In the Panchdha Grah Maitri chart, Saturn is friendly to Moon and Moon is neutral towards Saturn. This means that the results will not be unfavorable.
Rahu aspects the tenth lord Sun and eleventh lord Mercury from fifth house. Every time a Bhukti of Rahu or Sun operates there will be a determined effort by the opposition to undermine his authority. The aspect of strong and beneficial Jupiter however will not allow a major headache. The placement of fourth lord representing the masses in the tenth house ensures that the people in India will keep supporting him in elections. Mercury is powerful and extremely beneficial.
The Dashamash Chart

In the Dashamsh chart The Lagna lord is placed in Lagna itself. Even though Mars is placed in his Neech sign Cancer he remains a Yog Karak for this Lagna according to Parashar. The tenth lord in the Dashamsh Kundli is Mars and placed strongly in Lagna in Janma chart. This shows success through dedication and a strong desire to follow the right path. This also shows a steady and smooth success. The presence of the fourth lord Venus governing common man, comfort and happiness in one’s work is placed in the seventh house of associates and public relations. Modi’s popularity amongst masses will remain high. Moon-Saturn and Moon-Mercury Dashas will prove to be very beneficial.
Synopsis
Despite all the smoke and mirror effects generated by the combined opposition, and their determined efforts to stall the forward march of Narendra Modi, he will remain unconquered. The apple cart may wobble a bit but will not be upset. The third lord Saturn in the tenth house indicates brilliant use of the media to take the wind out of the sails of the combined opposition.
UP assembly elections
Assembly elections in UP in 2017 fall in Moon-Mercury period in Narendra Modis chart. Let us take a close look at Mercury as well. Mercury is 100% strong in Shadbal and ratio of his Isht and Kasht Phal is 57.37/2.63. Mercury is thus an unalloyed benefic in his chart. Vimshopak Bal of Mercury is 18 in his chart. Mercury is exalted and conjunct with tenth lord Sun. It is certain that his results will be sparkling in terms of political dividends.
BJP/NDA will be quite successful in grabbing enough seats to make their own government. BSP may be wiped out. SP will certainly see serious attrition of its power and cadre.

The year 2016 is bad for the middle eastern Muslim countries. Widespread unrest and bloodshed is more than likely. This is a long drawn out struggle which may spill over into 2017 and beyond. At the end of it, Saudi Arab, Bahrain, Egypt and Qatar will be left without a viable economy and without a vestige of strength to influence the middle eastern politics. The sun is about to set on these countries.This is the content of a separate blog by itself and will be dealt at a later date. These developments will affect how the Indian voter votes in a big way. The intransigence of certain very vocal but otherwise ineffective Muslim leaders will be decimated.

Summing up, 2016 will prove to be a year of consolidation for Narendra Modi. 2017 will be the year to expand on the foundation already buit up. The pace of his reforms may be hastened by the outcome of the bloodshedding and mayhem in Middle east. Decimation of Saudi power will usher a new era of peace in this hapless part of the world.

How does astrology work?

Besides our flesh and bones body that we see everyday, Vedic philosophy mentions the existence of two more bodies within our physical body. These are called astral body, and the causal body.

Causal or ideational body is the blueprint of the human body in the thought form. It is made up of five electricities and is the dream idea of the creation that surrounds us. Each of the five electricities pertains to one of the five senses and is different in nature from each other. It is because of the different nature of these electricities that our brain is not confused by the impulses coming from different senses. When we eat a mango the inputs of smell, taste, texture and color are registered as distinct sensations. There is no confusion in the brain about any of them. If each sense was sending the same electric impulse, our brain will have a hard time deciphering this information. At present our technology can sense and measure only electrons so we know only one type of electricity which is the flow of electrons through a conducting medium like a copper wire. Four more electric currents already exist but our technology is unable to sense and measure these just as the viruses have always existed but were unknown before the invention of the electron microscope. According to Vedic philosophy the subtle differentiation of these electricities will be discovered in the near future. Sooksham Sharira (Astral body) is electromagnetic in nature and is composed of fifteen segments or attributes. It also has the mind and intelligence. Five of these attributes are related to five organs of senses, five more are related to the five organs of actions and the last five to the five objects of the senses. The thought or dream form of the causal body assumes a more distinct form at this intermediate stage.

These attributes of organs of senses, action and objects of senses (Gyanaindriya, Karmendriya and Tanmatra) are the skeletal system around which the three dimensional world takes shape. This is as true of the earth as that of the most distant galaxy.

Our physical body envelopes the astral body, which in turn surrounds the causal body. Our soul which is a spark of Param Bramha resides with in the causal body. There are thus three casings or layers of causal, astral and physical body on the soul. As a matter of fact the soul is imprisoned there and the whole concept of Moksha and emancipation revolves around the freedom of spirit or soul from first astral and then causal body.

This scheme of things can be explained by the following example. Lets us say that I want to build the house of my dreams and I have unlimited money at my disposal to do so. Now, I know exactly what I want. I want five bed rooms, a large living room, five bath rooms, a big kitchen, a swimming pool, a porch, a large garden and so on. I picture the house in my mind and when I have visualized every detail I go to an architect to put my dream house on paper. He constructs everything – on paper. The building, the wiring, the plumbing is all there. Every detail is worked out. Everything I wanted in my house now exists – on paper. I am now ready to build. At this stage I take the blue print to the builder and ask him to convert the blue print to reality. The builder takes six months and a large sum of my money. At long last my dream house is a reality.

The house took shape in three distinct stages. In the first stage it existed only as a thought pattern. An electrical impulse in the brain is all what it was. The consciousness of house existed but it could not be felt by the five senses. This was the causal body stage of my home.

In the second stage my house consciousness took a more visible shape. Everything I wanted was constructed on a sheet of paper. The house existed but not in the physical form. It was in an intermediate stage. This was the astral body stage of my house.

Finally in the third stage, the builder converted the blue print to reality and I had a home that I could see, touch and feel. This was the physical body stage of my home.

This whole creation is a dream of Param Brahma or universal spirit. There is nothing real to it. What appears to be tangible to our senses is in reality a frozen form of energy, which is held in place by the will of Param Brahma. Scientists have a problem with this conception as their intellect can only operate with in the three dimensional world and can not accept the existence of anything which cannot be measured and reproduced. It is only now in the post Einstein and the quantum physics era where neither measurement nor reproduction of an experiment is possible that the modern scientist is dimly grasping the existence of a divine intelligence.

The physical world is essentially inert matter. The life force and movement that we see all around us comes from the astral world. This is as true of the dancing electrons as of a singing bird. The subtle forces of the astral world which animate our world themselves draw energy from the still finer forces of the causal or ideational world. These fine and subtle forces are the vibratory thought emanating from the consciousness of Param Brahm. We know it more popularly as Aum.

The whole of the creation is totally dependent upon the life forces emanating from the causal and astral bodies. The physical body is created and sustained by the astral body which supplies the life current called Prana to the fertilized egg, nourishes it and makes it grow into an embryo and eventually into a human being. Without the nourishing energy coming from the astral body and without the intelligence of the causal body telling the cell when to subdivide and how, the living creatures will not sustain life.

At the time of death only the gross body which is a heavy overcoat of flesh and bones dies. The soul-causal body-astral body combination being pure energy is indestructible and goes to the astral world only to be born again and again.

This combination is like a computer hard disk drive and records every thought and deed performed by us in this life. Our brain acts like a computer chip and sends a continuous stream of data pertaining to our actions to this hard disk of our astral body. This record is not destroyed at death because it’s electromagnetic in nature. This sum total of our record becomes the script for our next incarnation and plays out as we take birth and grow. Astrology is a science, which decodes this script and is therefore able to predict future.

Put very simply it’s like a movie recorded on a DVD. The beginning, the middle and the end are all present in the DVD but become active only when it’s placed in a player. The three dimensional world is then akin to a player which simply plays what we wrote for ourselves in our past lives.

In a DVD the future of a story can be known by fast-forwarding it. Astrology also fast forwards using precise tools and lets us know what is going to happen to us.

To predict future an astrologer uses Vedic astrology to cast a horoscope and then examines the twelve houses and the planets populating these. Each planets has something to say about the future. It is much like a jigsaw puzzle. Combining everything, a composite picture of a person's past present and future emerges.

Since our future is based on our past actions, it can be modified by our present actions and this gives rise to very interesting possibilities. By adopting certain measures we can lessen the impact of our negative action in the past. These measures work principally by generating vibratory energy through repetitious chanting of a mantra. The energy thus radiated erases the script at the point where a past Karma is likely to cause trouble. A major accident can be reduced to a small one. A huge financial loss can be limited to the loss of a few hundred dollars. The vibratory structure of the creation is modified by deliberately produced vibrations. The ancient sages have left a treasure trove of mantras to achieve every end that a person can think of.

Thus not only Vedic astrology predictions tell us what is in store for us, it also shows us a way out of our problems. There is no other predictive science in the world that comes even close to it.

The astrology of cancer Part – II

Continuation of the previous Blog

It has been seen in 60% charts of cancer patients that Saturn and Mars were in mutual aspect . In most of these charts, the signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces along with Libra were afflicted by malefics. Of these Libra and Scorpio which are the signs of debilitation of Sun and Moon were especially involved. It seems that affliction of these two signs somehow triggers growth of Cancer.

In a majority of cases, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were in a Yoga through aspect, conjunction and placement in each other’s sign. Jupiter represents glandular growth and spread and the influence of Mars and Saturn on him causes abnormal growth of certain type of cells.

Sun is the father of the solar system. The Neech placement of Sun in Libra, and further afflicted by placement in Trik houses (6, 8, 12) was found responsible for cancer. The union of Neech Sun with Trik Lords, Mars and Saturn played a leading role.

In 100% of the cases, union of Saturn, Rahu, Mars or Ketu through placement or aspect on the eighth and ninth Navamsa which happens to be Capricorn and Aquarius was the cause of cancer.

The Rog Saham in all charts was afflicted by Malefic planets.
