What is the Vatican City State?

The Vatican City State is a sovereign independent territory which was founded following the signing of the Lateran Pacts between the Holy See and Italy on 11 February 1929. These were ratified on 7 June 1929. Its nature as a sovereign State, distinct from the Holy See, is universally recognised under international law.

Gendarmeria

It was Vatican policemen who conducted the investigation on the butler, Paolo Gabriele, and arrested him on May 23, after a search of his apartment inside Vatican City revealed an enormous trove of papers, including hundreds of confidential papal documents.

But it was Vatican policemen, too, who allegedly held Gabriele in a cell so small that he couldn’t “even stretch his arms,” where the light was kept on for 24 hours a day and where he said he endured “psychological pressure.”

The Gendarmeria issued a swift rebuke of Gabriele’s allegations and threatened a countersuit if a Vatican investigation reveals his claims to be unfounded.

The alleged abuse inside the Vatican jail is just one of the details of the activities of the Vatican police corps that have come to light during the trial.

During the proceedings, Gabriele’s lawyer, Cristiana Arru, more than once seemed to suggest that the police investigation methods had been flawed. At Arru’s request, the court rejected from evidence two interrogations of Gabriele conducted by the Gendarmeria’s commander, Domenico Giani, without the presence of a lawyer.

Vatican policemen also admitted to not using gloves during the search of Gabriele’s apartment, and couldn’t describe where a nugget, presumably made of gold, had been found within his house.

The missteps don’t seem sufficient to weaken the case against Gabriele, who on more than one occasion admitted to photocopying the pope’s confidential letters.

“The Gendarmeria seems to have built a strong case against the butler,” says Maurizio Bellacosa, an expert on Vatican law at LUISS University in Rome.

But they might cast a shadow on a corps that in recent years has prided itself on its growing professionalism as a full-fledged police force with international recognition. In 2008, the Gendarmeria joined Interpol, an international organization that brings together police forces from 190 countries.

Under the leadership of Giani, a former member of the Italian secret service, Vatican policemen have received professional training by the FBI and widened the scope of their activities — sometimes irking the pope’s traditional protectors, the colorfully clad Swiss Guards.

Founded only in 1971, the Gendarmeria now has a high-tech “control room.” It has also recently created a “quick response” unit to respond to “high-risk situations” and an “anti-sabotage” unit.

“They have invested heavily on technology to protect the pope’s security and confidentiality,” says Italian security expert Gianni Cipriani. “After all, a lot of people come and go within the Vatican.”

In fact, critics say that sometimes the Gendarmeria have overstepped appropriate boundaries, including searching the butler’s house in Castel Gandolfo, a small village south of Rome where the pope’s summer residence is located.

It is unclear from trial proceedings whether the house falls under Vatican or Italian jurisdiction; if it’s Italian territory, it could add to earlier charges that the Gendarmeria improperly pursued investigations outside the small territory of the Vatican City State.

A similar episode, with two Vatican policemen tailing a man in Italian territory, is reported in Gianluigi Nuzzi’s best-selling book “Sua Santita,” or “His Holiness,” which compiles most of the secret papers leaked by Gabriele. One of the chapters is devoted to the rising prominence of the Gendarmeria in the world’s smallest state.

Gabriele himself admitted to a “morbid” curiosity about Vatican policemen during the investigation, adding that he had been “shocked” by the “unfair treatment” given to the corps chaplain, who had been unceremoniously sacked after five years.

According to his statements during the trial, Gabriele started sharing confidences with two men who were “knowledgeable” about the Gendarmeria, and then reported his findings to the pope’s personal secretary, Monsignor Georg Gaenswein.

What is the Holy See?

How can we trust our government after the attacks on The World Trade Towers?

How can we believe that the Patriot Act is for our own safety? Why are all citizens considered an enemy of the nation? Why are we being video taped, photographed, monitored through our cell (mobile) phones, GPS devices in our cars, our modern television sets, street cameras, the internet, personal e-mail, social media and who knows what other method which have not yet been disclosed. Stop check points are being set up in more areas throughout the United States. Why do Border Patrol Officers detain us from driving through our states and then say we are not being detained?
Why is the judicial system always correct and we the people wrong, most of the time? Why are courts and federal facilities allowed to filmed and document us yet we are not allowed to film documentation inside those buildings? We can not even film a police civilian confrontation without being told by the officers or sheriffs that we are impeding with their job and made to cross the street and at times even being threatened with arrest if we do not leave the area.
Since when is it the law to carry with and show our identification card when asked for it by a police officer or sheriff? Are we in Nazi Germany?
I do not worry about such matters because I am knowledgeable of my rights and strongly suggest that each and every one of you do the same. The old expression keyed by Francis Bacon, "Knowledge is power," is very true.

In the original video, which is not cut, there appears to be an elderly woman who calmly walks right by him; shopping bag with groceries in hand. Now THAT as well as the other photos above prove to me that these are definitely women who have been successfully desensitized, plain stupid or this event may have indeed been a hoax.

Some were saying this was all a hoax; perhaps it is because of how calm these women all appear to be as they approach a man who has just decapitated another human being in pure day light on a busy London street and errrr, still has blood on his hands as well as the weapon. I know if I had been there, I would probably be walking away from the men as fast as my legs could carry me while on the mobile yelling, "Bloody Help" to the police department.

The actress Leah Remini (Carey of King of Queens) alleged that she was interrogated for years after inquiring, at a function, as to the the whereabouts of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige's wife, Shelly, according to the Post. Where is this woman anyway?
During Cruise's wedding to Holmes in Italy in 2006, Remini asked Miscavige why his wife, Shelly Miscavige, was not in attendance.
Shelly has reportedly not been seen by any church members since 2007, but at that time, it was unusual that she wasn't present at such a high-profile event.
Remini was told "to shut up, as if the question itself was out of line,"
She reportedly also questioned the church's requirement for followers to "disconnect" from family members branded "suppressive persons."
Remini later wrote a "Knowledge Report" for the Church that included several criticisms of Miscavige as well as other high-level leaders and media handlers. Remini's report allegedly accused the church of lying to the press about its "disconnection" policy and excessive interrogations of members. Another shooting at a school today. This time it was a Taft High School in inland Kern County in a shooting in which two people were wounded, including one who was airlifted to a nearby hospital. The other refused treatment. The sheriff of Kern County, Calif., says a 16-year-old student shot at a high school another student in rural Taft High School whom he had words with the previous day is in critical but stable condition.Sheriff Donny Youngblood says the shooter is a student who walked into a class at Taft Union High School Thursday morning and shot the teen with a 12 gauge shotgun, and then fired at another student but missed. A teacher suffered a minor pellet wound to the head.
Youngblood says the teacher tried to get other students out a back door, then he and another staff member engaged the shooter in conversation to distract him, and convinced him to put down the gun.

The last mass shooting of 2012 was at Newtown, Connecticut, where twenty-seven people, including eighteen children, were shot to death inside an elementary school, is at least the sixteenth mass shooting to take place in America this year. The death toll is now at least at 84.

Here is a list of every fatal mass shooting that’s taken place since January 1st 2012 defined as multi-victim shootings where those killed were chosen indiscriminately. The tragedies took place at perfectly random places—at churches, movie theatres, soccer tournaments, spas, courthouses and, now, an elementary school. But given the frequency of these awful events, perhaps in the long view their occurrence isn’t so random after all—it’s predictable.

February 22, 2012—Five people were killed in at a Korean health spa in Norcross, Georgia, when a man opened fire inside the facility in an act suspected to be related to domestic violence.

February 26, 2012—Multiple gunmen began firing into a nightclub crown in Jackson, Tennessee, killing one person and injuring 20 others.

February 27, 2012—Three students at Chardon High School in rural Ohio were killed when a classmate opened fire.

March 8, 2012—Two people were killed and seven wounded at a psychiatric hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when a gunman entered the hospital with two semiautomatic handguns and began firing.

March 31, 2012—A gunman opened fire on a crowd of mourners at a North Miami, Florida, funeral home, killing two people and injuring 12 others.

April 2, 2012—A 43-year-old former student at Oikos University in Oakland, California, walked into his former school and killed seven people, “execution-style.” Three people were wounded.

April 6, 2012—Two men went on a deadly shooting spree in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shooting black men at random in an apparently racially motivated attack. Three men died and two were wounded.

May 29, 2012—A man in Seattle, Washington, opened fire in a coffee shop and killed five people and then himself.

July 9, 2012—At a soccer tournament in Wilmington, Delaware, three people were killed, including a 16-year-old player and the event organizer, when multiple gunmen began firing shots, apparently targeting the organizer.

July 20, 2012—James Holmes enters a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises and opens fire with a semi-automatic weapon; twelve people are killed and fifty-eight are wounded.

August 5, 2012—A white supremacist and former Army veteran shot six people to death inside a Sikh temple in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before killing himself.

August 14, 2012—Three people were killed at Texas A&M University when a 35-year-old man went on a shooting rampage; one of the dead was a police officer.

September 27, 2012—A 36-year-old man who had just been laid off from Accent Signage Systems in Minneapolis, Minnesota, entered his former workplace and shot five people to death, and wounded three others before killing himself.

October 21, 2012—45-year-old Radcliffe Frankin Haughton shot three women to death, including his wife, Zina Haughton, and injured four others at a spa in Brookfield, Wisconsin, before killing himself.

December 11, 2012—A 22-year-old began shooting at random at a mall near Portland, Oregon, killing two people and then himself.

December 14, 2012—One man, and possibly more, murders a reported twenty-six people at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, including twenty children, before killing himself.

WHY THE SUPREME COURT DOES NOT PROTECT THE BILL OF RIGHTS?

The Bill of Rights was our great champion for many years but it, too, has collapsed because it is in conflict with the first Seven Articles of the US Constitution. The Supreme Court protects the Constitution but it does not protect the Bill of Rights. Why?

The First Amendment has become a license for our natural enemies to corrupt our children and ourselves with the most vile pornography, which has nothing to do with the right to criticize the government.

The Second Amendment has just been declared null and void with a recent USSC decision, which paves the way for confiscation and martial law.

The Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendments have been ripped up by the Patriot Act and the US Army's atrocities at Camp X-ray and other places.

The Seventh Amendment supposedly guarantees a jury for virtually any dispute over twenty dollars. Try bringing that up with a judge in traffic court these days.

The Eighth Amendment prohibits excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishment. Has the Supreme Court or any federal court protected us against "jeopardy assessments and seizures," which steal all our money before trial so we can't even hire an attorney? What does the Supreme Court say about having foreign police torture us? It says that it's okay.

The Ninth and Tenth Amendments are not even recognized by the federal judges, who are mostly Freemasons.

Everything in the Bill of Rights was pretty much nullified by the Fourteenth Amendment, rammed through in the dictatorial aftermath of the Civil War, when the Southern States had no true legislatures. The Fourteenth Amendment made us all slaves and said that the public debt shall not be questioned!

We have been in the malevolent, deceptive hands of Freemasons from the very beginning of this country. They've had us waving their flag and praising their fraudulent Constitution all these bloody years while they steadily chipped away at the Bill of Rights so that today it is virtually non-existent.

The Declaration of Independence - the truly great instrument of human liberty - was rendered meaningless by the Masonic Federalists who provided for no such liberation in the Constitution, which was itself a dirty trick crafted in secrecy by delegates who met to modify the existing Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union Between the States. As mentioned previously, the Articles gave no power to the central government which the Masons craved. It purposely kept the central government weak.

The development follows the similar affliction of a Georgia graduate student, who lost her left leg and may lose her fingers. But experts say the South Carolina case, though serious, is less severe than the Georgia one and caused by a different bacterium.

U.S. Supreme Court Approves Strip Searches for Minor Offenses.

A New Jersey man who was strip searched in prison after being accused of failing to pay a traffic fine lost his Supreme Court appeal Monday.

The Supreme Court refused Monday to limit strip searches of new jail inmates, even those arrested for minor traffic offenses.

The routine strip search of those accused of minor offenses does not violate the Fourth Amendment’s ban on unreasonable searches and seizures whenever the detainee is to be housed within a general jail population, the US Supreme Court ruled on Monday.

In a 5-to-4 decision, the high court said that officials at a jail or prison facility do not need individualized suspicion that a detainee is concealing a weapon or contraband before conducting a visual inspection of the most private areas of a person’s body.

Instead, when an arrestee is to be confined within the general population of prisoners, officials are fully justified in performing the same strip search procedures for all prisoners as a reasonable precaution to maintain safety and order at a detention facility, the court said.

“The search procedures [at two jails in New Jersey] struck a reasonable balance between inmate privacy and the needs of the institutions,” Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion.

Neither the Fourth Amendment’s privacy protections nor the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal treatment mandate, he said, required jail officials to alter their policy of demanding strip searches for all detainees entering the general jail population.

Voting with Justice Kennedy were Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas, and Samuel Alito.

In a dissent, Justice Stephen Breyer denounced the routine strip search of those accused of minor offenses. It is a “serious affront to human dignity and to individual privacy,” he said.

“In my view, such a search of an individual arrested for a minor offense that does not involve drugs or violence … is an unreasonable search forbidden by the Fourth Amendment,” Justice Breyer said.

Detention officials, he said, must first possess reasonable suspicion that the arrestee is concealing drugs or other contraband before conducting such an intrusive visual inspection.

“I have found no convincing reason indicating that, in the absence of reasonable suspicion, involuntary strip searches of those arrested for minor offenses are necessary in order to further the penal interests,” Breyer wrote. “And there are strong reasons to believe they are not justified.”

Breyer was joined in dissent by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan.

The case, Florence v. Board of Chosen Freeholders of Burlington County (10-945), arises at a time when Americans are being asked to increasingly forfeit their privacy to accommodate escalating government security requirements.

Prospective travelers are routinely forced to undergo the technological equivalent of a strip search as a condition of undertaking a journey by commercial aircraft. Entry into many government buildings now requires successful passage through a metal detector and a physical search of purses and briefcases. Some courthouses require visitors to sign in and present government-issued photo identification before permitting entry.

Every year, an estimated 700,000 individuals are sent to jail for relatively minor infractions.

Justice Alito, in a concurring opinion, said the majority decision is limited only to those detainees who are to be housed in a detention facility within the general population of prisoners.

“Undergoing such an inspection is undoubtedly humiliating and deeply offensive to many, but there are reasonable grounds for strip searching arrestees before they are admitted to the general population of a jail,” Alito said.

He added, however, “The court does not hold that it is always reasonable to conduct a full strip search of an arrestee whose detention has not been reviewed by a judicial officer and who could be held in available facilities apart from the general population.”

The decision comes in the case of a New Jersey man who was arrested during a traffic stop and ended up spending a week behind bars where he was subjected to two strip searches by jail officials.

The traffic stop, by a New Jersey state trooper, occurred on March 3, 2005.

Albert Florence was riding in the family car with his wife and three children when a police officer pulled the vehicle over. Mr. Florence was arrested for an outstanding warrant issued in Essex County.

The warrant had been issued years earlier for civil contempt, when Florence failed to pay a fine. After he paid the fine, the judge canceled the warrant, but somehow the computer entry was never updated to cancel the warrant.

Florence was placed under arrest and taken to a Burlington County jail for eventual transfer to Essex County on the pending warrant.

At the county jail, Florence was ordered to remove his clothing. Guards conducted a visual inspection of his body, instructing him to open his mouth, lift his tongue, lift his arms, and then lift his genitals.

Although the law provides for a prompt hearing, Florence was held at the Burlington County jail for six days before being transferred to the Essex County jail in preparation for his hearing before an Essex County judge.

Once again, upon entering the jail, Florence was subjected to a strip search. He was taken to a shower area with other detainees. He was ordered to remove his clothes, open his mouth, lift his genitals, turn around, squat, and cough.

The following day, Florence appeared before a judge who ordered his immediate release from jail.

Florence filed a lawsuit against the two jails charging that officials violated his Fourth Amendment right to privacy by subjecting him to strip searches without any suspicion that he was concealing a weapon or contraband.

A federal judge sided with Florence and a class of similar detainees being held for minor offenses who had been subjected to routine strip searches.

On appeal, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals reversed. The appeals court said that the jails’ interest in safety and security outweighed the privacy interests of detainees – even those accused of minor crimes. Judges must defer to the policy judgments of jail officials, the appeals court added.

In affirming that decision, Kennedy said: “The court has held that deference must be given to the officials in charge of the jail unless there is substantial evidence demonstrating their response to the situation is exaggerated.” He added, “The record provides full justification for the procedures used.”

Kennedy said the strip search is necessary not only to detect concealed weapons or drugs, but also to help detect lice or other conditions classified as contagious, untreated wounds, and gang-related tattoos.

“Something as simple as overlooking a pen can pose a significant danger,” Kennedy wrote. “Inmates commit more than 10,000 assaults on correctional staff every year and many more among themselves.”

The seriousness of an offense, he added, can be a poor predictor of who has contraband and who may be exceedingly dangerous. Kennedy noted that Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was initially stopped and arrested for driving without a license plate. Serial killer Joel Rifkin was initially arrested for the same offense.

Under these circumstances, jail officials have an interest in following readily administrable rules, the justice said. “The restrictions suggested by petitioner would limit the intrusion on the privacy of some detainees but at the risk of increased danger to everyone in the facility, including the less serious offenders themselves,” Kennedy said.

The Supreme Court’s decision continued a trend that began after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks of giving jailers more leeway in searching those picked up even for the most minor offenses, such as expired licenses or noisy mufflers.

At the same time, at least 10 states have forbidden strip searches without reasonable suspicion. And the Federal Bureau of Prisons does not subject those arrested for misdemeanor or civil contempt offenses to visual body-cavity searches without their consent or reasonable suspicion that they may be hiding contraband. They are kept from the general prison population.

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy noted there are many definitions to the term “strip search” and said the decision relates to close visual inspection of a person’s body without touching.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. agreed with the outcome of the case but wrote separately to emphasize that the decision concerned only those admitted to the general population of a correctional facility. An exception to the rule might apply to those detained on minor charges and kept apart from the rest of the jail population, they said.

Steven R. Shapiro, legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union, said the decision “jeopardizes the privacy rights of millions of people who are arrested each year and brought to jail, often for minor offenses.”

But he noted that states were still allowed to forbid such searches and said the justices were “careful to recognize that strip searches may still be unconstitutional under certain circumstances.”

Justice Stephen G. Breyer wrote a dissenting opinion, joined by the rest of the court’s liberals. He said corrections officials must have reason to believe that the person arrested poses a danger before subjecting them to a strip search that is “inherently harmful, humiliating, and degrading.”

“And the harm to privacy interests would seem particularly acute where the person searched may well have no expectation of being subject to such a search, say, because she had simply received a traffic ticket for failing to buckle a seat belt, because he had not previously paid a civil fine, or because she had been arrested for a minor trespass,” Breyer wrote.

Again, Justice Breyer wrote in his dissent: "such a search of an individual arrested for a minor offense that does not involve drugs or violence — say a traffic offense, a regulatory offense, an essentially civil matter, or any other such misdemeanor — is an ‘unreasonable search’ forbidden by the Fourth Amendment, unless prison authorities have reasonable suspicion to believe that the individual possesses drugs or other contraband." You do not have to be an elaborately educated or refined reader of the Constitution to judge that such indeed is the meaning of the fourth amendment.

The words are great and they deserve to be remembered. Here is what the fourth amendment says:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

How steep is the descent from these words to the new rule by which a majority of the Supreme Court, with a president and an attorney general at their side, have now elected to challenge the constitutional presumption against arbitrary searches and seizures? We will know for sure when we see the next in the series of anti-Constitutional experiments begun by Bush and Cheney and continued by Barack Obama. In the meantime, the following axioms may serve as a guide to the change of morale.

The Authoritarian Catechism

1. There are good people and bad people.

2. A designated function of the police and prison officials is to determine who is good and who is bad.

3. If you are arrested, it may safely be assumed that you are one of the bad.

4. If, at the time of arrest or afterward, you protest your innocence loudly, or speak with indocility to an officer of the law, you have committed an offense graver than many crimes on the books.

5. Breaches of politeness toward authorities form a legitimate part of a record stored up for future use regarding the conduct of all Americans.

6. Authorities must keep such a record because Americans, through our tacit consent to laws passed or changed since 2001, have affirmed that we think nothing more important than our safety.

7. The duty to keep America safe, and to "protect" all Americans, outweighs the duty to see that existing laws under the Constitution are faithfully executed. Apparent violation of an existing law by a designated authority, so long as it can be seen as consistent with the higher duty of the maintenance of safety, is itself a sufficient reason for a change of law to accommodate the violation.

8. When not already effected by Congress, such changes will be executed by the Supreme Court.

9. There is a proper trade-off between unalienable rights and collective safety, just as there is a trade-off between the moral commandment not to commit injustice and the human desire to live as long and comfortable a life as we possibly can.

10. Whenever safety and comfort require that injustice be done to individuals, injustice is tolerable and should be supported by other Americans.

11. For an accused person, there is a correct and an incorrect posture.

12. The incorrect posture is to be indignant at things done to you, such as the imposition of unnecessary force or humiliation. The correct posture is to be grateful to authority for the things that have not yet been done.

Over the Counter Medications

Over the counter (OTC) medications, are drugs that do not require a prescription. They can be bought at any pharmacy, grocery store, or convenience store without a doctor's consent. Many people think that because they do not require a prescription, they are not harmful when they are abused. However, many health complications as well as addiction can occur when a person abuses over the counter drugs.

Just like prescription drugs, over the counter medications change the user's body functions from its natural state. These changes can be harmful to the mind and body, and many people who abuse them develop an addiction.

Abuse and Addiction

Cold Medications

Over the counter cold medications are found in cough syrup and tablet form. The most common abused OTC cold meds contain dyphenhydramine or dextromethorphan. Some will have pseudophedrine, which is a decongestant and can be used to make methamphetamine. Brand names are Robitussin, Vicks, Coricidin, and Nyquil. However, there are a least 125 different types of over the counter cold medications that contain dextromethorphan.

Dextromethorphan is not harmful when it is taken properly. However, in high amounts it can cause a ‘high' feeling, hallucinations, confusion, and numbness. There are even slang terms used when a person is abusing OTC cold medications; such as, robo tripping and skittles.

Sleeping Medications

Over the counter (OTC) sleeping medications can be found in tablet forms and are most abused by young people and the elderly. The most common abused OTC sleeping medications will contain a chemical called doxylamine. Brand names are Ambien, Restoril, Sonata, Excederin PM, and Tylenol PM. When these drugs are abused, they can cause even greater sleeping problems, weaken the body, or cause a condition called narcolepsy.

Aside from overdosing or dying from an OTC medication, the abuser can have serious health related problems such as nausea, insomnia, severe weight loss, nervousness, dizziness, depression, anxiety, mood swings, and addiction.

ROBOTRIPPING...Never heard of it?

Unbelievably, this is a street name for the ‘euphoric high' people are getting from chugging and swigging cough syrup like Robitussin and cold medicines like Nyquil as well as other products that contain dextromethorphan.

Syrup heads and robotards is the name given to those that abuse it. What's even worse is the fact that there are people mixing this stuff with alcohol, marijuana, other illegal drugs and prescription drugs at the same time. Deaths have occurred according to the FDA when abusing high doses of DXM in combination with alcohol and other drugs.

Abusers may be Robotripping all the way to the morgue, time to lock-up the medicine cabinet and monitor the internet!

Dextromethorphan (DXM) is an OTC (which means over the counter) cough suppressant that's found in cough and cold medications. When this substance is abused in large doses the individual sees and hears unbelievable hallucinations along with euphoria. The street names that go along with the hallucinating sensations are referred to as Robo-Tripping or Skittling. These two street names are referring to the abuse of Robitussin and Coricidin.

There are other street names that are associated with Dextromethorphan abuse; they are DXM, CCC, Triple C, Skittles, Robo, Rojo, Tussin, Vitamin D and Poor Man's PCP. Those who abuse DXM have described the effects they receive from abusing products containing this substance. Their perception of time is altered; they experience visual hallucinations along with a heightened sense of perceptual awareness. A breakdown of the effects experienced depending on the abused dose may help in understanding this.

1. 100 to 200 (mg) Causes mild stimulation effects

2. 200 to 400 (mg) Causes euphoria and hallucinations

3. 300 to 600 (mg) Causes visual perceptions to be distorted and un-coordination in the individual

Until recently, liquid cough medications were used when abusing dextromethorphan. Now, people are abusing gel capsules and tablet form pills that contains DXM. Another form of Dextromethorphan that's abused can be bought over the web in powder form, illegal DMX manufactured tablets are also somewhat widespread and obtained for abuse. Sadly, people are dying from this substance abuse.

A report from PubMed.gov also shows another five deaths just last year in 2009 from three different states, WA, FL, and VA. There were 5 teenage boys that died as a result of abusing Dextromethorphan and they all purchased it illegally over the internet. Each of the 5 deaths was caused from abusing DXM along with other drugs.

The Rocky Mountain High just got a whole lot higher. On Tuesday night, Amendment 64 -- the measure seeking the legalization of marijuana for recreational use by adults -- was passed by Colorado voters, making Colorado the first state to end marijuana prohibition in the United States.

Although Colorado "legalized it," it will be several months; perhaps as long as a year, Colorado adults 21-and-over can enjoy the legal sale of marijuana. However, the parts of the amendment related to individual behavior will go into effect as soon as Governor Hickenlooper certifies the results of the vote, a proclamation he is obligated to do within 30 days of election, the Colorado Independent reported.

It's a huge victory for the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol, the pro-pot group behind Amendment 64. "Over the past eight years in Colorado, we have argued that it is irrational to punish adults for choosing to use a product that is far less harmful than alcohol," Mason Tvert, co-director of the campaign, said in a statement. "Today, the voters agreed. Colorado will no longer have laws that steer people toward using alcohol, and adults will be free to use marijuana instead if that is what they prefer. And we will be better off as a society because of it."

On the same night that Colorado passed Amendment 64, Washington State passed Initiative 502 which regulates and taxes sales of small amounts of marijuana for adults, The Associated Press reports. Oregon also had a similar recreational marijuana measure on the ballot, but as of publishing and with 47 percent of precincts reporting, it looked as if it would not pass.

Under Amendment 64, marijuana is taxed and regulated similar to alcohol and tobacco. It gives state and local governments the ability to control and tax the sale of small amounts of marijuana to adults age 21 and older. According to the Associated Press, analysts project that that tax revenue could generate somewhere between $5 million and $22 million a year in the state. An economist whose study was funded by a pro-pot group projects as much as a $60 million boost by 2017.

"Today, the people of Colorado have rejected the failed policy of marijuana prohibition," Brian Vicente, also a co-director of the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana, said in a statement. "Thanks to their votes, we will now reap the benefits of regulation. We will create new jobs, generation million of dollars in tax revenue, and allow law enforcement to focus on serious crimes. It would certainly be a travesty if the Obama administration used its power to impose marijuana prohibition upon a state whose people have declared, through the democratic process, that they want it to end."

The big unknown still is if the federal government will allow a regulated marijuana market to take shape. Attorney General Eric Holder, who was a vocal opponent of California's legalization initiative in 2010 saying he would "vigorously enforce" federal marijuana prohibition, has continued to remain silent on the issue this year.

In September, Holder was urged by nine former heads of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to take a stand against marijuana legalization again. "To continue to remain silent conveys to the American public and the global community a tacit acceptance of these dangerous initiatives," the nine said in the letter to holder obtained by Reuters.

In October, those same DEA drug warriors joined by former directors of the Office of National Drug Control Policy on a teleconference call to put additional pressure on Holder to speak out against Colorado's marijuana measure as well as similar initiatives on the ballot in Washington state and Oregon.

Washington state and Colorado set up a showdown with federal authorities by legalizing recreational use of marijuana.

In a report published Sunday by NBS News, President Obama's former senior drug policy advisor said that if the marijuana initiatives pass, a war will be incited between the federal government and the states that pass them. "Once these states actually try to implement these laws, we will see an effort by the feds to shut it down," Sabet said.

But proponents of the legislation say they do not foresee the feds interfering in states that have legalized cannabis, citing the federal government's silence on the issue this election cycle.

The DOJ has yet to formally announce its enforcement intentions; however, the clearest statement from the DOJ came from Deputy Attorney General James Cole, who said his office’s stance on the issue would be “the same as it’s always been.” During a recent appearance on "60 Minutes" Cole elaborated, "We're going to take a look at whether or not there are dangers to the community from the sale of marijuana and we're going to go after those dangers,” Reuters reported.

Statewide victories in Colorado and Washington (legalization) and Massachusetts (medical marijuana) weren't the only blows our country's failed marijuana policies were dealt on Election Day. A number of cities and towns voted against cannabis prohibition, as well.

In Michigan, voters overwhelmingly approved all four citywide measures to stop arresting marijuana users, reports the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP). Grand Rapids voters replaced possible jail time for simple possession of marijuana with a fine. In Detroit and Flint, voters removed local criminal penalties for marijuana possession. In Ypsilanti, marijuana possession will now be the lowest law enforcement priority.

A top aide to Mexican President-elect Enrique Pena Nieto says votes to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Colorado and Washington state will force the Mexican government to rethink its efforts at trying to halt marijuana smuggling across the southwestern border.

Luis Videgaray, former general coordinator of Mr. Pena Nieto’s presidential campaign this year and now head of the transition team, told Radio Formula 970 in Mexico City that the new administration has consistently opposed the legalization of drugs, and the Colorado and Washington votes conflict with his government’s long-standing and costly efforts to eradicate the cultivation and smuggling of marijuana.

“These important modifications change somewhat the rules of the game in the relationship with the United States,” Mr. Videgaray said. “I think we have to carry out a review of our joint policies in regard to drug trafficking and security in general.

“Obviously, we can’t handle a product that is illegal in Mexico, trying to stop its transfer to the United States, when in the United States, at least in part of the United States, it now has a different status,” he said.

Mr. Videgaray is expected to play a significant role in the Pena Nieto administration. The president-elect, who will assume office Dec. 1, said in September that Mr. Videgaray would head the team that will set policy direction for the new government.

More than 47,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon began a military assault on violent drug cartels in 2006. Many of the dead have included Mexican military personnel and police.

During his presidential campaign, Mr. Pena Nieto vowed to continue Mexico’s fight against drug trafficking, although he said he would revise strategies and work to reduce violence. Some U.S. policymakers have expressed concerns that his Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) had been known for allowing drug-trafficking cartels semiautonomous control of certain regions.

The topic of legalized marijuana is sure to come up during Mr. Pena Nieto’s planned Nov. 27 trip to the U.S., when he will visit the White House.

When planning for a catastrophic scenario that has hit us like a sudden punch to the stimache, there’s really only one thing that we can be sure of; Survival will be a bigger challenge than you ever believed possible. While you can defiantly take measures to prepare yourself for what’s to come, when you’re talking about a catrastorphic scenario, all bets are really off.

Here are 10 things that you may have never considered when planning for a survival situation.

LAW ENFORCEMENT ISSUES

1. No Law Enforcement

During an extreme scenario, it is very likely that law enforcement and emergency responders will be nonexistent. Even during small scale disasters, law enforcement officers often leave to take care of their own families first. When things go bad (empty grocery stores, no utilities, mass riots, violence, etc.) you are more than likely going to have to defend yourself.

2. Fake Law Enforcement

In an emergency catastrophis scenario you need to be on the lookout for everything including people impersonating law enforcement and military personnel. During a catastrophic event, you will most likely see criminals preying on the innocent by pretending to be either police or military officers. You have to be able to quickly determine who is who, or stay away from people at all costs.

3. Law Enforcement and the Military Will Try to Take Your Guns.

Think it can’t happen? It already has! In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass ordered all local law enforcement, including the U.S. Marshalls office and the National Guard, to seize all civilian firearms.

Without warrants, armed National Guard troops and New Orleans law enforcement officials forcibly confiscated over 1,000 legal firearms from law abiding citizens. The New Orleans gun confiscation should serve as a warning to how the government and law enforcement officials will react during a large scale national disaster. It is extremely likely that they will come for your guns!

PERSONAL SAFETY ISSUES

If things go bad, there will likely be more people who mean to do you harm than there will be people who are prepared. This is something that you must accept and learn to deal with. The fact is, most people have no idea what it really takes to survive and once their safety net is removed they will become increasingly desperate and unpredictable.

Let’s face it, even during the good times there’s a certain segment of our population that’s just downright insane. From the idiots who go nuts and riot after their team loses a game, to the violent criminals and gangs who are already terrorizing big cities throughout America, there’s little doubt that a total collapse would make urban living almost impossible.

5. You need to be able to Defend Yourself.

During an extreme emergency situation the lunatics of the world are going to be roaming the streets looking for easy victims to target. If you’re serious about survival, you need to train yourself in multiple self-defense styles and techniques. This means arming yourself with not only weapons, but also with the knowledge of how to defend yourself without them.

6. Garbage will become a Killer.

This is a topic that’s not often discussed, but it’s one that will probably become a real problem during a SHTF situation. Often, people who talk about urban survival worry about things like raiders and roaming gangs, but the real danger might actually come from something that you already have in your home - Garbage.

When planning to survive in any long-term survival situation, one thing that’s often overlooked is the dangers associated with a lack of adequate sanitation. I know it’s not a pleasant thing to think about, but this one issue has the potential to kill more people than any other survival topic that we can talk about.

8. Maintaining a Positive Mental Attitude during a Survival Situation

The ability to maintain a positive mental attitude during a survival situation is something that needs to be taking seriously. It’s also something that you need to start working on now, before the SHTF (Shit Hits The Fan).
Making it through a survival scenario often comes down to how well you can control your emotions. Keeping a positive frame of mind, even in the face of an unthinkable threat, will help you process what’s happening and will help you respond to the situation without giving into fear.

9. You must be prepared to face a number of physical and mental challenges.

From dealing with a lack of sleep and inadequate hydration, to coping with hunger pains and other stressors, survival can take a huge toll on your body. One of the best things you can do to ensure your survival, in just about any situation, is to make sure your body and your mind are trained to survive.
This means motivating yourself to get off your butt and get in shape now, before it’s to late.

COMMUNICATION ISSUES

10. You will be cut off from the outside World.

In a survival situation, knowledge is going to be a critical factor in determining the ultimate outcome of your situation. The ability to be able to predict what will happen in a survival situation is an important part of being prepared and often comes down to your ability to send and receive information.
When the power lines go down and the radio stations stop transmitting, there’s one line of communication that will still be alive and well.

Having a good Multiband Ham Radio will allow you to send and receive critical emergency information during a disaster. It’s also a great way to find alternative news sources from around the world.

You must be self dependent already and no longer counting on stores, banks, doctor's offices, taxi's, trains, buses, ATM machines, ETC.

*Recognize Hidden Demonic and Masonic Symbols.

THINGS YOU MAY NEED FOR YOUR BUG OUT BAG:

*A Pot for boiling water to get rid of contamination

*Be careful of who you will trust once a catastrophe hits, people tend to change.

*We must find alternative herbal remedies or household remedies to fight certain cuts and breaks so that we are not bound to pharmaceuticals any longer.

*Keep extra medications for those with heart and severe conditions as such.

*We do not know what the value of a dollar will be worth during an Apocalypse but we do know that it will be of value during a hurricane or earthquake and we will need silver, gold, stones, arrow heads and money.

*If possible, purchase legal handguns, ammunition and pepper spray or most importantly make sure you have a couple of good hunting knives for skinning fish and birds to eat and store in a safe place. If you are good with a sling shot, you can make one or purhase one because a sling shot will also come in handy to down animals which can be used as food. (Not to be used until the shit hits the fan or to safely and legally practice.and you know it will. )

*Get Your self and Family into Good Enough Shape for Long Walks, Bicycle rides or even Small Motorcycles.

*Purchase a good compass.

*Purchase Cars which are easy to maintain. (Natural gas)

*Make a plan as to where you will all meet.

*Stock up on Hydrogen Peroxide or hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is a very flammable fuel sourse when mixed with lint and petroleum jelly.

*Petroleum Jelly of course.

*Purchase Camping Sleeping Bags. They help keep you warm and dry. (Though sleeping bags may be too heavy to carry. Below I have included some tips on how to keep warm while walking and on the move.

*Store up on canned goods and can openers (not electric). This tip is or those who want to stay home and ride it out bu a can opener is always good to have while on the move.

*Have hats for each member of the family to keep your body from over heating.

*Purchase large garbage bags to use as rain slickers.

*Purchase back packs for each member of the family; they are best to keep your hands free. This is a must have but they should not be too large or fluorescent; you want to blend in with nature and not attract attention to yourself.

MAKING FIRE

*Purchase and keep a few of those clicky things to star a bar-b-q inside of your Bug Out Bag

*Store some dryer lint inside of a zip lock to facilitate starting your fire.

*Practice how to light a small fire using a stick inserted into the holes of some sort of wooden board so you can have light when the power goes out and your batteries die out.

One of the items I have found that is a very useful is Hand Sanitizer. Most people look at it and do not all that it has to offer other then killing germs for there hands. It is great to have for wounds as an antiseptic and you also have a very flammable fuel source. Combined with lint and petroleum jelly it will start a fire with one strike. Hope this is helpful to some.

Cotton balls & petroleum jelly / Vaseline works very well… same concept. Always start small with kindling. Pencil lead sized, followed by pencil sized and move on up. If you’re trying to stay concealed, consider digging a small hole to build your fire in, but don’t forget fires need to O2.

In an urban setting this can be a good way to start a fire, but it also applies to the wilderness as well. You can easily scrap enough lint from your pockets or off your socks to accomplish the same goal.

*For those who have elderly to take care of, a car of course would be your best recourse. Your job to survive will be much harder when you have elderly and children to look out for, you will have to make difficult decisions.

ABOUT FINDING AND PURIFYING WATER

WHAT COULD WE DO ABOUT OBTAINING WATER?

Water may be contaminated during a catastrophe but we must rely on our basic survival instincts. Digging into the ground until we find the earth is moist, will lead us to water. It may not be what we have been accustomed to but soaking a piece of cloth into it will quench our thirst a bit once we squeeze it into our mouths. Water will be a luxury we must always be on the look for.In a situation like a nuclear attack, foraging would not be exactly useful. However, in the event of something like a civil war, foraging would provide some nutrition. An important point is that you should have a destination in mind and not go too far off the path while looking for food.

Ingredients to add to a make shift soup

Here are a few nutrients that though they do not sound appetizing, are nutrients you could add to boiled water and make a soup.

1/4 liter wood sorrel petals

11 slugs

2 deer flies

8 large grasshoppers

50 medium size black ants and ant pupae

A handful of Indian Cucumber roots

A handful of pine needles, chopped

One chicken bouillon cube, from my survival kit

*Dandelions and clover are also edible

It is important that we all learn to live off the land just in case of hurricanes, etc.
Finding Survival Water
Directly associated with food is water. These two are essential to life. Many men died because they didn’t know how nor where to look for water in apparently dry and arid regions.
But one has to know how to find it, and fast, if one is to survive.
People can go up to 60 days without solid food. You will be tormented by hunger, but you can’t survive without water.
Many different forms of life are certain indicators of water in your vicinity.
Bees must have water. Pigeons and all grain eaters must have water, but the flesh eaters such as the crow, hawk and eagle can go without water for a long time.
By knowing something of the nature of insects, birds, animals and reptiles, you can often find their hidden stores of precious water.

WATER

Since most common diseases in a survival situation are waterborne, polluted drinking water must be rigorously avoided.
Never ever take the slightest unnecessary risk with questionable water. Anyone can generally get along a while longer without a drink. One drop of contaminated water can so sicken that if nothing worse occurs, people will become too weak to travel.

MAKING SURE IT IS PURE

Water can be rid of germs by boiling. The exact time required to accomplish this depends on altitude, the nature of impurity and several other factors. A safe general rule is at least 10 minutes, longer is by no means a waste except for fuel and it causes the water itself to evaporate.
If there is reasonable doubt water is contaminated, don't take chances even if in a hurry. A great deal more inconvenience, discomfort and delay can result from using untreated water.
Getting sick takes days, even weeks, before feeling better. Sometimes it results in death. This applies to water actually consumed and with equal gravity, to any water entering the human body.
For example, water in which a toothbrush is dipped, food and utensils are washed, and water used in cooking (except when kept at high enough temperatures for a sufficient time to insure purity) could all be sources for disease.

*NOTE: Boiled water tastes flat. Air and taste can be restored by pouring the cooled water back and forth between two buckets or by shaking it in a partially filled jar or canteen. If in hurry, add a pinch of salt if available.

STAGNANT WATER and POLLUTED WATER

Both can be made safe to drink without equipment. If time permits, such water can be filtered through a sieve of charcoal. This will both clarify and to a large extent, purify the water. How much filtering is enough is in question so it is always safer to boil water before drinking for at least 10 minutes. Once boiled, swirl the water for a minute or so to give back its oxygen and taste.

MUDDY WATERS CLEANING METHODS

If water is muddy, floating clay particles can be settled out by adding a pinch of alum. This, however, requires at least 12 hours waiting and lots of wood!
Polluted or dirty water can be filtered by straining through closely woven garments such as a felt hat or a pair of thick drill trousers. This will removes sediments only, not purify.

TO CLEAN and PURIFY MUDDY WATER

Step 1
Let it rest during 12 hours.
Step 2
Let it circulate inside a bamboo stick or other tube measuring 1 yard, filled with sand and the end packed with grass.
Step 3
Then pour water through a cloth filled with sand which filters the mud.
Step 4
Boil that water afterward for a minimum of 10 minutes.

TO MAKE A FILTER
Water can be cleared by filtration although this process will neither affect any dissolved minerals nor ensure purity.
Water is polluted by animal and mineral matter rather than by discoloring vegetable substances such as grass roots and dead leaves.
The first two cannot be removed with any sureness by ordinary filtering. This filter is to clear water by straining it through solid material.
A “wild” filter can be made without too much trouble particularly in sandy areas by scooping a hole a few feet from the source of supply and letting the water seep into it.

HOT STONES METHOD

Polluted water can be sterilized by adding hot stones to the water in the filter. The water will soon boil becoming sterile and safe drink.
In areas where there is the likelihood of water being unsanitary (near cities or villages), it is always safer to boil before drinking or add a pinch of chloride of lime.
Water which is very muddy, dirty or stagnant can be clarified through a good filter made from a pair of drill trousers with one leg turned inside out and put inside the other leg.
The cuff is tied and the upper part held open by 3 stakes driven well into the ground. Fill with the dirty water and then drop in the hot stones.
The water will filter through and MUST be caught by a container and poured pack until the dirt has been filtered. Boil the water at least 10 minutes. Remember, just moistening your lips with polluted water can make you sick for days; it can even kill you.

WATER PURITY

Once you have found a water source, you have two old drinking rules to choose from, depending on how healthy you are, how cautious you are and where you are.
The first is, when doubt about water, purify it.
The second is, a lively bubbling stream cleans itself in 30 feet of flowing over rocks and sands. Or as one old codger I know put it succinctly, referring to the same quality of stream bed, "If the cow's around the bend, the water's fit to drink."
Which rule you follow is up to you. We tend to use the second when in mountainous, wooded country. Our stomachs might not be cast iron, but they are pretty resistant to Montezuma's Revenge and La Turista. Yet as pollution increases, we lean more and more to the first rule.
Boiling takes a lot of fuel and a lot of time to cool, but in dangerous regions it is better to drink a lot of tea rather than wait for the water to cool off. For Halazone, use one tablet per pint of water, or two, if in serious doubt. You
Must let it stand1/2 hour or more to be safe to drink and it tastes funny like water from as swimming pool.
Aerating the water by pouring it back and forth between two containers several times will eliminate most of the chlorine taste. This chemical is quite pungent; if you hold your breath while drinking it, you will hardly taste a thing.

SIMPLE CHEMICAL PURIFICATION

One can buy the chemicals at most sporting goods and drug stores. Since their purifying action depends upon the release of chlorine gas, the tablets should be fresh and the container kept tightly closed, its contents dry.

NO PURIFICATION OF WATER BY CHEMICAL MEANS IS AS SAFE AS BOILING.

Two tabs of Iodine will ordinarily make a quart of water safe for human consumption in 1/2 hour.
If the water is muddy or its integrity seems particularly questionable, it is good insurance to double at least the amount of Halazone and standing time to be sure.
Care must be taken with chemical purifiers to disinfect all points of contact with the container, so that the sterilized water will not be easily re-infected.
If a jar or canteen is being used together with Iodine, replace the cover loosely and wait 30 minutes so the tablets can dissolve. Then shake the contents thoroughly, allowing some of the water to spill out over the top and lips of the holder. Tighten the cover and leave it that way for the time required before using any of the water.

CHLORIDE OF LIME

Chlorine in some form is regarded as the most dependable disinfectant for drinking water. When introduced in proper quantities, it destroys any existing organisms. For as long as enough remains in the water, it prevents recurring contamination. It is better to err moderately on the side of over-dosage than not enough.

EMERGENCY CHLORINATING DONE IN 3 STEPS

1) Dissolve one heaping tablespoon of chloride of lime in 8 quarts of water.
2) Add one part of this solution to 100 parts of the water to be disinfected.
3) Wait at least 30 minutes before using. The stock solution must be kept tightly corked in a cool, dark place and even then, it should be frequently renewed.
Tincture of iodine can be used as an emergency purifier. A drop of this fresh antiseptic, mixed thoroughly with one quart of water in the same manner as the old Halazone pills, will generally make the water fit to drink in 30 minutes.
Both the amount and time may be doubled if this precaution seems warranted.

IODINE WATER PURIFICATION TABLETS

Chlorine-releasing compound cannot be relied upon in semi-tropical and tropical areas.
Water in those regions must be sterilized either by boiling or by iodine water purification tablets containing the active ingredient Tetraglycine Hydroperiodine,These measures have been adopted as standard by the armed services of the USA.

These tablets have been proved effective against all the common water-borne bacteria. Added to water each tablet frees 8 milligrams of iodine which act as a water purification factor.
One tablet will purify one quart of water. These tablets too must be kept dry. The bottle
Must be recapped tightly after opening.

Step 1

Add one tablet to a quart of water in container with cap.

Step 2

Wait 3 minutes.

Step 3

Shake water thoroughly, allowing a little water to leak out and disinfect the screw threads before tightening the cap.

Step 4

Wait 10 minutes before drinking or adding beverage powders and if water is very cold, wait 20 minutes.

Step 5

If water contains decaying vegetation or is murky and discolored, use 2 tablets for every one quart.

Step 6

OTHER CHEMICALS TO STERILIZE WATER

Step 1

JAVEL: Add 5 drops of Javel per 4.5 litres of water
Never pass that dosage. Its drawback is that water tastes acidic.

"Permanganate de Potasse": Drop a piece of it in the water in a way that the water is
Hardly tainted and wait 1 hour before drinking.

Step 3
In South America, people purify water ponds with copper sulphate 1 million parts to one part of water.

HOW TO RECOGNIZE POISONOUS WATER HOLES

A few water holes as in the southwestern deserts of North America contain dissolved poison such as arsenic. One can recognize these easily, partly because of bones of unwary animals scattered about, but mainly because green vegetation will be conspicuously absent. Avoid any water hole without green plants.

POISONED RIVER

While fighting the Boers, Baden Powel came across this problem, and resolved it this way, having learned that the water had been poisoned.
He simply dug a hole at 9 feet from the river bank and let the water seep through, thus eliminating the poison. However the hole must be dug deeper than the riverbed.

HARD WATER

If the area traveled has hard water to which we are not accustomed, severe digestive upsets may result if, while getting used to it, we absorb more than small amounts at any one time. Boiling may be of some help, but that is all one can do until one gets used to it.

A WAY TO SWEETEN WATER

If you are camping by a swamp or pond with an unpleasant odor, you will want to sweeten and purify the water in a single operation.
Just drop several bits of charred hardwood from the campfire into the boiling pot.10 or 15 minutes simmering will do the job.
Then you can skim away most of the foreign matter and strain the water through a clean cloth or if time permits, merely allow it to settle.

WATER HAZARDS and SICKNESS

Diseases from water make one of the greatest threats to survival, if not the greatest, immediately following injuries, cold and man! Among them we find:
Dysentery, Cholera, Typhoid, Douves.

DYSENTERY

This sickness causes general diarrhea, painful and of long duration with bloody stools and weakness. If you think you suffer it, eat frequently and drink, if possible, coconut milk and boiled water. As for coconut milk being a laxative drink, only a small amount. Boiled rice is strongly recommended as food during this illness.

CHOLERA AND TYPHOID

Even with vaccine, you are vulnerable to these diseases if proper care isn’t taken of water drinking habits.

DOUVES
They abound in stagnant and polluted water especially in the Tropics. When you swallow them, they infiltrate the blood causing severe sickness and often death. These parasite worms penetrate the body even through the skin. Don’t walk or bathe in contaminated waters. Nowhere does the addition of liquor to ice or water rid either of germs. (Germs keep well in ice; they don't die).

LEECHES and HOW TO GET RID OF THEM

The small leeches abound most particularly in water streams of Africa. When swallowed, they cling to throat and nose passages. They suck the blood and cause wounds. These parasites move and each time they do, they cause new open wounds which leads the way to infection.
Clean your nose as quickly as possible by sniffing very salted water or remove the leeches with improvised tweezers or with the heat from a cigarette. Another old jungle trick is to rub salt on them which will make them leave.

WHERE TO FIND WATER?

One is always learning from nature. Several principles serve to aid; water flows downhill. So we are not surprised to find water near the tops of mountains indicated by a lush area or a thread of green "verdancy" coming down a slope.
Water is also prone to lie near the base of hills where it can often be recognized by the density of vegetation. When country is flat and open, long meandering tangles of such brush and shrubs as alder and willow will tell us their tale.

WHEN TO FOLLOW GAME TRAIL

Those trails often indicate water presence. A usually reliable indication is a marked increase in the deepening and widening of the trail. So do follow these trails. If traveling in the North America, you will come to recognize that such trails commonly mean a muskeg (bog) lies ahead and that the easiest procedure will be the following an animal’s path around it.

DESERT WATER

Water seeks the lowest level available and in the desert, these may be underground. If you see hills, head toward them, for the likeliest place to find water is at their base.
Perhaps you have come across the thin shallow bed of a stream. Even though it is dry, water may lie beneath the surface. Hunt for a low place in the bed and dig. The same procedure applies in the case of dry lake bottoms. The presence of any water will soon be indicated by damp sand.
Game trails in desert country usually lead to water. Follow them downhill if the land so slopes. Otherwise scout around till you can make sure which direction the paths have become more frequented; this will be the way to go.
If you happen upon a palm, you can depend on water being at hand generally within several feet of the base of the tree. Reed grass is also a sound sign that moisture is near.
However, in general, it is futile to search for water near desert plants, for this one has already taken it. Instead, use the plant roots which you dig, pull and section off.
For cactus, cut off the head and avoid the milk.
In the Arizona desert, there is a bottle shaped cactus which contains near 7quarts of water, but only in Arizona. With a good knife it will take nearly 40minutes of hard work to cut the very tough and prickly skin.
The water is in the plant, not in the soil. The only danger comes from milky sap as seen from cactus in African desert.
The Barrel Cactus is the milky exception.
One may not find Barrel Cactus if in the wrong region of the desert. If you find one, to get the juice, cut off sections of that cactus and be wary of spines. Mash them in a container.
You can drink any resulting fluid on the spot or pour it into a second container as often as needed. If you have no utensils, you can mash segments of the cactus one by one and suck the pulp.

TIPS

1) Where you see damp soil, dig in surface.

2) One can find water just under the surface of a dry river. The water goes down at the lowest point of the river bed, in the exterior part of the elbow of its bed. Digging under the concave bank of the exterior side of the river curve is the place to find water, whereas in the convex side is nil. Help the water to flow by digging small holes.

3) Look behind rocks, in trenches and small ditches, on the flank of canyon or under the sharp edge of cliff and maybe you will find natural reservoirs. Often in those places, the soil is made of solid rock or very hard soil well packed that collects water. If you can't find those clues, search for water where the animals leave their traces.

4) In desert, Remember to observe the flight of birds particularly at dawn and dusk. Birds glide and hover around these marshes. Go there every day; parrots and pigeons are rarely very far from it.

5) In the Gobi Desert, don't count on plants to quench your thirst. In the Sahara, the Wild Gourd or Pumpkin can quench thirst. The pulp of the Barrel Cactus in USA is safe and will give 1 liter of milky fluid. (This is the exception to the milky rule) but it is tough to get to it, with a good knife you cut the upper part. Use this cactus as last resort.

6) The roots of certain desert plants are found very near the surface soil. The Australian Water Tree, the Desert Oak and the Blood Wood are examples. Remove these roots and cut them or better break them in length of 60-100cm. Remove the skin and suck the water contained in it.

7) The Madagascar Traveling Tree of Western Africa and the Australian and African Baobab are among the plants capable of supplying water.
Don't attach too much importance about stories of contaminated wells. The acid taste of certain salty or alkaline waters rich in magnesium are the cause.
Desert waters by the nature of their surge are generally better filtered and clearer than your city water. Yet, better boil that water or add Iodine or Halazone pillsespecially in native villages or near inhabited places.

DESERT SURVIVAL - WALKING

In the Desert, adapt yourself to it, rather than try fighting it.
Desert natives refuse to do any violent effort during the hottest hours of the day and as the animals do; they drink and drink as soon as possible.
It has been registered desert walking of 140 to 350 miles (225 to 563 km)between 10 to 20 days, while walking only at night and with only a little water from plane crashed survivors.
Here is another illustration to prove the point. An American called Rodger Jones, in August 1953 was stranded on a road in the Great Salt Lake Desert, when an axle of his car broke down.
As a former Marine, he had taken a short survival course and he did the right thing. He lay down in the shadow of his car (outside) and slept through the hottest part of the day.
Around 6pm when the sun had lost its full impact, though the temperature was still around 95ºF (35ºC); he set off along the road. He knew there were steel water tanks for tourist at regular intervals.
Twice that evening he came to one of those tanks painted bright red and drank as much as he could, also filling up his water bottle. Wherever he found any shade he stopped for a rest.
Every so often he collected large stones and laid them out on the road to spell the word HELP with an arrow showing the direction he was walking in.
The next day a car driver who saw one of those signs, at once followed the arrow and caught up with Jones after a 4 hour drive.
He was resting in the shade of a rock and his condition was excellent despite amid day heat of 110ºF (43ºC).
Another family who also got stranded did survive by laying close to the cars shadow, applying lipstick to the blisters and swollen lips of the husband and children and covering everyone cheeks and arms with rouge.
Discovering that the ground was cooler a few inches below the surface, she and her husband buried the children up to the neck in sand and applied sand to the children's faces, and then they did the same for themselves.
In most deserts, the temperature a foot below the surface is less than 72ºF(22ºC) and on hot summer day, it may be 18 degrees cooler than at the surface directly above.
Using urine collected earlier during the day, they dipped some bit of clothing in the can and press them on children's face, the smell was unpleasant, but the moisture was refreshingly cool.
They were later rescued in good health, but if they had decided to walk off in bright day, they would have been either dead or in very bad conditions. It pays to learn the tricks of survival.

DESERT TRAVEL HINTS

Travel at night as much as possible.
1) Cover yourself as much as possible. Clothing stops sweat evaporating too quickly and helps you benefit from its cooling effect. If you remove your shirt, you will feel more at ease but you'll also sweat much more besides risking sunburn.
2) Keep your clothing on. You will walk further if you don't sweat too much.
3) Unless you have lots water, don't waste it washing.
4) When drinking, don't swallow big gulps in one shot. Drink small quantities. If low in water, then only dampen your lips.
5) Keeping a few small pebbles in your mouth will ease your thirst; breathe through the nose and don't talk.
6) Absorb salt only with water and only if you have a lot of water.
7) Drink as often and as much as you can; the saving of water will not get you much farther, yet don't waste it.
8) When extremely thirsty any liquid is tempting, but don't drink any alcohol. Aside from its effects, it only dehydrates the body.
9) Urine is harmful and only increases thirst.
10) Smoking dehydrates your body and heightens the need to drink.
**Sluggishness of the digestive system is a natural consequence of going without normal amounts of water and nourishment.
This condition need not cause concern and will re-adjust itself when normal conditions resume. So don't take any laxative under such conditions for it depletes the body of further fluid.

DEW

Dew which settles after cold nights in many stretches of deserts has also been a life saver. Survivors have mopped it from the metal of their wrecked plane or collected it in tarpaulins.
Dew must be collected before the sunrise, for it evaporates quickly. Abundant dew can give a little more than 1 liter of water/hour. Thirsty Bedouins sometimes dig up cool stones just before sunrise and wait till dew settles on them, then lick the stones dry.
In many desert regions according to Israeli scientist Shmuel Duvdevani, dew falls in a quantity which would amount to 25 inches (63.5cm) in a year.
During the war, one of the strangest sources of water was the wreck of burned out or shot up jeeps and tanks and trucks. Airmen, after crashed, walked 20miles (32 km) a day filling up their water bottles regularly from the radiator of such vehicles. (This is a good idea unless the radiator contains glycol ether which is anti-freeze, a toxic substance.)

BEDOUINS WATER EXPERTS

Survival experts have taken great interest in the methods of Bedouins with their amazing sixth sense which again and again leads them to sources of water.
Morning and evenings, for instance, they listen to the twittering of birds to locate where the birds get their drink. They also find water holes by watching the direction in which birds are flying or by following animal’s trails. Flocks of birds circling over one spot, excepting vultures, usually indicate a drinking place in the desert.
Of course the water there is not always pure said a survivor who found such a water hole. There was such a stench of sh** that he was almost sick. But his thirst was greater than his disgust. He had no iodine to disinfect water or anything to make a fire with and boil it, so he drank it and was none the worse. I should point out, that he should have dug a hole nearby (9 feet) and let the water seep through thus safer in some ways.
9 feet would also get rid of water contaminated by radiation.
Dense clouds of flies swarming over a place in the desert show Bedouins where there was water only a short while before and they almost always find it worth digging there.
Bedouins also have discovered fairly large supplies of water either on the edge of a desert very near salt lakes or in the middle of deep dune valleys. Rain water collects there, seeps into the ground and settles between different layers of soil.
If, while digging, they hit upon wet sand with a dry layer underneath it, it is a sign that the water has already drained off farther downhill or evaporated in which case they start digging again in a lower lying spot.
Almost every desert has wadis, where sometimes water is still found only a few feet under a surface which is apparently bone dry. Of course, there is often no more than a layer of mud left, but thirsty people have pressed it into a cloth and drunk the water unharmed. Those who died from it never told their stories.

AFRICAN BUSHMEN

They dig a small hole in the mud, stick a suction pipe into it, and then suck the moisture out of the ground drop by drop. A grass filter stops any sand getting into the bottom of the pipe. Water not needed at once is stored in blown-out ostrich eggs in which quite a large amount of liquid can be carried.
If water tastes very soapy or salty, it may be poisonous. In the Gobi Desert for instance, there are springs which contain alkali. In Arizona several springs contain arsenic and a spring in the Sahara contains so much chlorine that it corrodes clothes.

WHERE TO FIND WATER IN ROCKY SOILS
Water easily disintegrates limestone and digs caverns which is where you will find springs and water sweating.

LAVA ETC.
Because of its porosity, lava retains much water, so you will find springs along valleys which crosses old lava flows.
When a dry canyon cuts across a sandstone or grindstone layer, there is water which sweats on its walls.
In a region rich in granite, dig a hole in the green grass and you will discover water coming up.

IN SOFT SOILS

Water is ordinarily more abundant and easier to discover in soft than in rocky soils. The phreatic sheets often come to surface in valleys and slopes.
The springs and sweating are found in the high level line of the river waters after those have retracted away.
Before digging to find water, try to discover the signs which indicate its presence.
The bottom of a valley, at the foot of a sharp slope, a corner of vegetation which has sheltered a spring during rainy season, a low forest and sea shores, are among many places where the hydrostatic level lies under the surface.
There is no need to dig deeply in order to find water. Above the level of the phreatic sheet, there are small streams and ponds. However, those waters are contaminated and dangerous even when far away from any civilization.
Example:
Springs below towns.

ON MOUNTAINS

Dig in dry spring beds; water often hides under the gravel. Mountain slopes usually hide springs at their feet.

OTHER SOURCES OF SUPPLY
Creosote plants, Willows, Elder Berry, Salted Herbs grow only where water is near the surface.
By a starry night, one can with a handkerchief mop up and gather up to 1 quart of water per hour from damp soils where you see flies.

INSECTS, BIRDS AND ANIMALS INDICATORS OF WATER
BEES

Bees in an area are a certain sign of water. Rarely will you find a hive of wild bees more than 3 or 4 miles from fresh water. A bee flies a mile in 12 minutes.
So you can be sure if you see bees that you are not far from fresh water, but you will probably have to look for further indications before you find the water supply.

ANTS

Many ants need water, so if you see a steady column of small black ants climbing a tree trunk and disappearing into a hole in a crotch, it is highly probable that you fill find a hidden reservoir of fresh water stored away there. This can be proved by dipping a long straw or thin stick down the hole into which the ants are going.
If wet, then water is there. To get the water, do not on any account chop into the tree. If the hole is very small, enlarge it with your knife-point at the top. Make a mop by tying grass or a rag to a stick. Dip the mop into the water and squeeze into a container.
Another method is to take a long hollow straw and suck the water you need from the reservoir. These natural tree reservoirs are very common in dry areas, and are often kept full by the dew which condensing on the upper branches of the tree, trickles down into the crotch and into the reservoir inside the tree.
Water reservoirs are very common in the She-Oaks (casuarinas) and many species of Wattle.

MASON FLIES

These large, hornet-like creatures are a certain indicator of water. If you see a mason fly building in an area, you can be sure that you are within a few hundred yards of a soak of wet earth.
Search around carefully and you will see the mason fly hover and then suddenly drop to the ground. If you examine the place where she landed, you will find the soil is moist and that she is busy rolling a pellet of mud for her building. By digging down a few inches or at most, a couple of feet, you will surely find a spring and clear, fresh, drinkable water.
BIRD INDICATORS FINCHES
All finches are grain-eaters and water drinkers. In the dry belts, if you see a colony of finches, you can be certain that you are near water, probably a hidden spring or permanent soak.

WILD PIGEONS

They are a reliable indicator of water. Being grain and seed eaters, they spend the day out on the plains feeding and then with the approach of dusk, make for a water hole, drink their fill and fly slowly back to their nest. Their manner of flying will tell you the direction of their water supply.
If they are flying low and swift, they are flying to water but if their flight is from tree to tree and slow, they are returning from drinking their fill. Being heavy with water they are vulnerable to birds of prey.

GRAIN EATERS

All the grain eaters and most of the ground feeders require water, so if you see their tracks on the ground, you can be fairly certain there is water within a few miles of your location. Exceptions are parrots and cockatoos which are not seen as reliable indicators of water.

CARNIVORES BIRDS

Being flesh eaters, they get most of the moisture they need from the flesh of their prey thus not reliable water-drinkers. Nor should you regard the water living birds as indicators of fresh or drinkable water.

MAMMALS

Nearly all mammals need water at regular intervals to keep alive. Even the flesh eaters MUST drink, but animals can travel long distances between drinks and therefore, unless there is a regular trail, you cannot be sure of finding water where you see animal trails. This is a general rule.
However, certain animals never travel far from water.
Example:
A fresh track of wild pigs is one sign that there is water nearby. Also, fresh tracks of rooster and most of the grazing animals, whose habit is to drink regularly at dawn or dusk. In general, water is found by following these trails downhill.

FROGS ETC.

Frogs, salamanders, weevil charancons
Always look for a damp place to rest and usually, if we dig under them, you will find water points, even springs.

REPTILES

Most of the land-living reptiles are independent to a very large extent on water. They get what they need from dew and the flesh of their prey and thus, not an indicator of water.

WATER FROM VEGETABLE SOURCES

Roots and branches of many trees contain sufficient free-flowing fluid to relieve thirst. This can be collected by breaking the roots or branches into 3 feet lengths and standing these in a trough of bark into which the collected fluid will drain to the container.
In some plants the amount of stored water is truly unbelievable. The water will gush out literally when the plant is cut.

WARNING: THESE VEGETABLE "DRINKING-WATERS" CAN NOT BE KEPT FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS.

The fluid starts to ferment or go bad if stored and might be dangerous to drink if in this condition. The nature of the plant, if judged by the properties of its foliage is no guide for the drink ability of the fluid which is its sap.
For example:

The Eucalyptus, whose leaves are heavily impregnated with oils of Eucalyptus, and in many cases poisonous to human beings, contains a drinkable fluid, easily collected from the branches or the roots. The fluid is entirely free from the essential oils and with no taint of the Eucalyptus. Its roots measure from12 to 25 meters (39 to 82 feet), crawling under low depth. Pull them off, remove the bark, and the sap will sweat at both ends, where you have put containers.

The Liana or Monkey ropes found in tropical regions are an example of a prolific abundant source of water.
There are certain precautions and a few danger signs with regard to vegetable fluids. If the fluid is milky or red or colored in any way it must be regarded as dangerous, not only to drink, but also to the skin. Many of the milky saps, except those of the ficus family which contain latex or a natural rubber, are extremely poisonous.

One exception known is the Barrel cactus in the USA.

The milky sap of many weeds can poison the skin and form bad sores, and if allowed to get into the eyes, cause blindness. With all vegetable sources of fluid, even though the water itself is clear, taste it first and if quite or almost tasteless or flavorless, it is safe to drink.
For vegetable sources of water in arid areas, the best volume is generally obtained by scratching up the surface roots. They are discovered close to the ground and if cut close to the tree, may be lifted and pulled, each root yielding from 10 to 20 feet. These MUST be cut in 3-4 feet lengths for draining.
Many persons who have tried to obtain drinking water from vegetable sources failed to get the precious liquid to flow just because they did not break or cut the stalk or root into lengths. Unless these breaks are made, the fluid cannot flow and the conclusion is that the root, branch or vine is without moisture.
In general, water is more plentiful from plants in gullies than on ridges. And the flow is wasted if the roots are broken into sections and NOT CUT. Cutting tends to bruise and seal the capillary channels.

DEW COLLECTION

In barren areas where there are no trees, it may be possible to collect sufficient moisture from the grass in the form of dew to preserve life.
One of the easiest way is to tie rags or tufts of fine grass round the ankles and walk through the herbage before the sun has risen, squeezing the moisture collected by the rags into a container.
Many explorers saved their life that way. Pig-face and Ice plant and Pig weed contain large proportions of drinkable moisture.

WATER ON SEA COAST

Fresh water can always be found along the sea coast by digging behind the wind blown sand hills which back most ocean beaches.
These sand hills trap rain water and it floats on top of the heavier salt water which filters in from the ocean. Sand hill wells must be only deep enough to uncover the top inch or 2 or water.

SAND WELLS

If dug deeper, salt water will be encountered and the water from the well will be undrinkable. It will be noticed too that the water in those wells rises and falls slightly with the tides.

THESE SAND WELLS ARE COMPLETELY RELIABLE SOURCES OF WATER ALL OVER THE WORLD.

When digging, it is necessary to rivet the sides of the well with brushwood, otherwise the sand will fall into the well. On coastal areas where cliffs fall into a sea, careful search along the lower edges of the cliff will generally disclose soaks or small springs. These, in general, follow a fault in the rock formation and frequently are evident by a lush growth of ferns and mosses.
I personally found that near the cliff, at the bottom of them where you find fallen rocks meeting the sand beach, if you dig there yet not too close to those rocks, you will find water about 1 foot down. It is a perpetual source of water, as much as you want, even for 20 persons. It keeps filling up every day.

MAKE SURE you rivet the side also and just cover the hole with some planks or drift board and mark it well so that it keeps animals away, for sand will cover it fast after a while from the nearby sand hill.

SEA MOISTURE FROM FISH FLESH

Another source of liquid sufficient to sustain life at sea when no fresh water is available, comes from flesh of the fish.
The fish are diced and the small portions of flesh are placed in a piece of cotton cloth and the moisture wrung out. This moisture is not excessively salty and can sustain life for a long period.

CONDENSING SALT WATER

It is possible to condense sea water without equipment and obtain sufficient freshwater.
A column is made or alternatively a hole is scraped in the ground and lined. The salt water is put into this hole. A fire is built and stones are put into it to heat up. These, when hot, are put into the salted water which soon boils and then water vapor is soaked up by a towel or thick mat of cloth.
In time, this will become literally saturated and may be wrung out, yielding a fair quantity of fresh drinkable water. Once the cloth is cool the collection of water vapor is fairly rapid.

MOISTURE CONDENSATION IN ARID AREAS

This still produces about 50% more water between 8p.m. and 8 a.m. than during the day, but it still works day and night. Don’t depend to drink this water immediately for it takes 24 hours before collecting 1 quart (1 liter) of water sometimes.
A simple still for water condensation in arid areas can be made from a piece of light plastic sheeting about 4 feet (122cm) square. A clean garbage bag which has been fully cut and open will do. A hole is dug in the ground in a sunny position. The hole should be about 3 feet (1 meter) across and 15” to 18" (38cm -46cm) deep or deeper if possible.
The site should be preferably in a moist ground, a depression in a creek bed is ideal if one can be found. If green material such as shrubs or succulent herbage is nearby, the hole should be lined with this and the materials packed down. It may be necessary to weigh down the material with a few flat stones. In the centre of the hole and in the deepest part, a container is placed to catch the moisture from condensation.
Lay the sheet of plastic across and covering the hole using some of the earth scooped from the hole to seal the edges lightly.
Place a stone in the centre of the upper side of the plastic sheet above the approximate centre of the water container to weigh it down to just over the container below.
Moisture in the soil and in the greenery placed in the hole will be drawn off by the heat of the sun and condense on the underside of the plastic. The condensed moisture will collect into droplets, coalesce and trickle down the underside to the lowest point where it drops off into the container.
If the underside of the plastic sheet is slightly roughened with fine sandpaper or similar fine abrasive such as a piece of finely grained stone, the droplets will coalesce and run off more cleanly than if the underside is absolutely smooth.
Body waste such as urine, waste food, moist tea leaves etc. can be put into the hole. The pure moisture only is condensed. From 1 - 4 pints of water a day can be collected by this method.
If the stay in the area is likely to be of some duration, the top few inches of the hole can be removed and fresh green material replaced and the still will continue to work when this is done.

FRESH STILL SITES MAY BE NECESSARY EVERY 2ND OR 3RD DAY.

This still can also bring you food! Since water under the plastic will attract snakes and small games which will crawl under the still cone but cannot go out.
This effective method was first used by the Water Conservation Laboratory in Arizona.

Drink from the bottom bucket without having to remove it and stopping the recuperation.

OTHER WAYS TO FIND WATER

EXPERIENCE WITH A OIL LAMP

At night, dig a hole 2 feet deep, cover the bottom with very dry wood and place an oil lamp which has very little oil (just so the wick is imbibed), light it up and place it on the wood floor.
Cover up the hole with branches and wait till morning to see if your oil lamp is still burning. If so, then there is water at a certain depth. Dig and you shall find it. Why is that?
Because the dampness of the underwater sheet increases the air condensation furnishing more oxygen and thus, makes the oil last longer which keeps the flame to your oil lamp. If however it has died, then there is a lack of dampness. The oil alone has not sufficed for the night’s duration having burned faster than the air which was too dry.

WATER FROM A LANTERN

If all other means of getting water have been exhausted, any metal container and lighted lantern may be used to obtain water.
Remove one end of the container and submerge the closed end in a foot or more of salt water. Place the lighted lantern inside the container on the bottom. Cover the open top, allowing only enough air to enter to keep the lantern burning. The heat will cause moisture to form on the inside container. This can be soaked up with a rag and squeezed into a cup.

EXPERIENCE WITH A WOOL BALL

Do as for the oil lamp but replace it by a wool ball. Put a very dry wool ball on the dry wood and cover the hole. The following morning, look at your ball and press it strongly, the quantity of water will tell you if it’s worth digging.

RAIN WATER

Always safe to drink and easy to collect with any tarp, but unfortunately there are three exceptions. A chemical, atomic or bacteriological warfare would render this water unsafe unless filtered and boiled. Man has created it’s own worst problems.

WATER IN COLD CLIMATE

Snow: Clean snow can be eaten any time one is thirsty. The only precaution is to treat it like ice cream and not to put down too much at once when overheated or chilled. Rather, let it melt down in your mouth. It is better not to eat snow when extremely cold, for it has the tendency to dehydrate the body and provoke chill. Let it melt slowly into your mouth in small quantity
One of the most pleasant wilderness desserts is ice cream made with snow. Pour milk into a container; add sugar and some flavor such as chocolate and stir in preferably fresh light snow till taste and texture are satisfactory.
Snow drawback is that a considerable amount is needed to equal a glass of water. Packed snow gives more water of course, ice even more.
Particular care has to be taken when melting snow to not burn the pot. Melt the snow until the bottom of the pot is safely covered with several inches of water before adding more snow. Use any tool to pack the snow as it melts to avoid the bottom of your pot drying up and burning. This nuisance is compensated for by the fact that snowfall makes water readily available throughout wilderness.
One needs a lot more water in cold weather than one expects, because the kidneys have to take over much of the process of elimination otherwise done by the sweat glands.

ICE and FRESH WATER

This is the water supply of many an Arctic establishment but the tasks of cutting and melting is sufficiently inconvenient that when it is feasible, most prefer to chop or chisel holes in the lake or stream to get water.
Such holes must be covered to discourage their freezing. Also it is the preferable method since you waste no fuel. To obtain water you need twice the amount of fuel to melt snow than if you melt ice for the same quantity of water.
To break ice, it is better to use a pointed tool. First, hit a few light strokes to create a split then a hard blow to break an ice piece the length desired. On a great lake or long river, cut toward an already existing split to avoid making only small bits.
If one wants to dig a hole in a lake or river to obtain water, one must be careful doing it to avoid splashing.
First, start to axe all around your hole but make very sure not to puncture the ice all the way to the water, until your hole is deep and wide enough for your bucket.
Then and only then, once you are near water on all sides, give a sharp blow to break the ice completely. If you don't do this, the water will seep into the hole and you will get dangerously wet while trying to enlarge it. However, as far as purity is concerned, ice and the water obtained from melting ice differ in no respect from the water originally frozen.

SALT WATER ICE BECOMES FRESH?

The soundest reasoning leads to the [worst] conclusions when the premises are false. We are certain that the ocean is salt, so it is logical than that the ice of saltwater must also be salted.
Wrong! It so happens as Dr. V. Stefansson notes, the sea ice becomes fresh during the period intervening between its formation and the end of the first summer thereafter.
If, during freezing weather, you are ever in a position where you have no other source of water but salted water, you'll want to catch small amounts of the available brine and allow ice to form in it. The slush and any remaining liquid should then be removed.
The ice you'll find fresh enough to use in emergency. Ocean ice loses its salt so rapidly that ice over 1 year old is nearly fresh.
And ice formed 2 or more years old cannot be distinguished as far as taste goes from river ice unless waves have been breaking over it recently or spray has been dousing it.
Melted hollow otherwise will usually be found to contain ample fresh water. Salted ice is grey and opaque whereas unsalted ice is bluish and crystal colored.

FINDING DRINKING WATER ON OCEAN

Rain water will often furnish drinking water at sea. When it starts to fall, the precaution is immediately taken to let it wash any accumulated salt from everything that is to be used for catching it and storing it.
Dew is heavy enough is some areas to merit being caught in a sail or tarpaulin stretched with sufficient sag to allow any condensation to collect.
One may be out of sight of land and yet so near the mouth of some great river that even far at sea the water will still be fresh.

OBTAINING WATER FROM FISH

The proportion of water in fish is so high that at sea, except when large enough emergency water supplies can be secured from ice or rain, fish are the most dependable source.
They can be caught in many different ways and in some waters many fish will even leap freely aboard at night especially if a light is shown to attract them. Most sea life can be used although crabs and sharks are excessively salty.
Sea snakes which, unlike eels, have no scales are edible but have poisonous fangs. They are 10 times worse than the land ones.
Unless the fish you catch has ordinary scales and looks like most fish you are used to seeing, a good rule, especially in warm waters, is to leave it alone. For example, Jelly Fish should neither be handled nor used.

WATER FROM FISH

Water can be obtained from freshly caught fish in several different ways.
The most fundamental method is to divide the fish into small portions and chew each of these thoroughly spitting all solid matter before going to the next morsel. The fish can also be sectioned and twisted within a cloth, the freed juice is either sucked or caught.
One primitive way of dealing with a large fish is to hack holes in its side and allow moisture from the lymphatic vessels to ooze into these. If you like the juice of raw clams or oysters you are apt to find all this surprisingly pleasant. You'll be able to satisfy thirst as long as you can catch sufficient fish for your needs.
REMEMBER, it will take you several hours to obtain 1/2 liter of this liquid, so be patient while squeezing the fish.

BODY WATER PRESERVATION

Even when you have found water, you have won only half the battle. You must make this reserve last and for that to happen you must not sweat or do so as little as possible.
Your body exits heat either by evaporation or sweating. As soon as the body fluid volume lowers, sweating diminishes, the body temperature rises and you exhaust quickly.
An increase of only 6 degrees in your normal body temperature is of lethal consequences. Even though you seem to be less hot when you remove clothing; you also quickly lose your organic fluid that way. If you stay clothed; you will prevent the heat to penetrate and this will also slow down the evaporation.

YOU MUST BOTH DRINK AND AVOID SWEATING TO AVOID DEHYDRATION.

Experience proves a man in normal working condition spends 3,000 calories a day and that a man in good health can subsist for a long time on only 500calories per day without bad effects on his organism.
Of course in condition of great fatigue or cold exposure, one has to eat more to maintain his body temperature. Water is still much more necessary than food .One generally needs at least 1/2 pint (2 cups) per day minimum. Once exposed to desert heat, one needs a minimum of 3.8 litres (1 gallon) of water per day.
This will enable you to cover a distance of 30km (18.64 miles) as long as the sweating is well-controlled and the moving is done at night. During the day, it would give you 15km (9.32 miles) distance on the same amount of water.

WHAT TO DO IF WATER IS SCARCE

If you have ample water at the moment but may have little or none later, the soundest procedure is to drink as much as we reasonably can before quitting the source of supply. Fill up before abandoning a ship or a plane.
If in dry country; drink a lot while and just before leaving the water hole unless there are extenuating circumstances. Every effort MUST be made to take adequate water with you when leaving what may be an isolated supply. Water comes first.
We repeat that an unbelievable amount of water is exuded through the skin’s pores and the rate of perspiration is markedly increased both by heat and by exertion. The need for water intake can be much lessened by your keeping as quiet as possible and as comfortably cool as one can.
Keeping the clothing wet will help at sea in hot weather although it should be rinsed in the latter part of the afternoon to prevent collecting too much salt. Allow to dry out before evening if the nights are chilly.
If in desert without sufficient water and obliged to depend on your own resources to get out, your best chance will be to stay as relaxed and cool as possible during the torrid hours. Travel at dusk, night and dawn.
If on flat shelter less desert, one can always scoop a narrow pit in which to lie while the sun is blaring down.
The utmost shade will be obtained if this trench extends East and West. Two or 3feet of depth can result in as much as 30 degree or more difference in temperature between its shadowy bottom and ground level.
Before you take such refuge, you should leave some sign of your presence in case help passes nearby. Weighting a shirt over one of the excavated piles may serve this purpose.

WHEN WATER IS REPLENISHED

When water has missed for a long while, you MUST NOT DRINK A GREAT DEAL AT ONCE; once you find it. It will cause nausea beside the body will not retain it, thus wasting much of it later.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s MAIG organization is using grant money to partially fund full time paid lobbyist positions working directly in city governments across the country. Sean Caranna, a Florida gun rights activist and founder of Florida Carry, recently uncovered several cities that have lobbyists working for them including Orlando, Seattle, Columbus and Minneapolis.

On average, taxpayers pay for approximately 25% of the cost of these employees including health insurance and vacation accrual among other benefits.

Some of these lobbyists are fully paid by the city themselves. In Milwaukee, a full time police officer was taken off the street to serve as the city’s representative to MAIG.

MENTALLY DISTURBED CONSPIRACY THEORIST BLOGGER?

If anyone has ever encountered a conspiracy theorist on the Internet, then you know that some of them can be quite intense people, even to the point where you might believe that they are mentally disturbed.

So here now is a list of six ways to tell if a conspiracy theorist that you see posting on the Internet might be mentally disturbed:

6. Incoherence

Basically speaking, whatever messages they post either barely make any sense, or makes no sense what so ever. This can be a gradual thing, where if you're having an argument with the conspiracy theorist, over time they can begin making less and less sense as they grow more frustrated and angry because you're not agreeing with them, or they're just incoherent out right.

5. Volatile & Vileness

Some conspiracy theorists, especially those who might be mentally disturbed, can become extremely angry in a second, especially when confronted with evidence that the conspiracy theories that they believe in are in fact false. It's quite common for people who are like this to post messages that are best described as either being threatening, insulting, and at the very least, disturbing. Sometimes they'll even make threats against public officials and institutions, or just the people they're arguing with.

4. Paranoia

If a conspiracy theorist argues how everything the media says is a lie, how the government constantly spreads dis-information, and how debunkers are government dis-information agents, and how banks and corporations are controlling the world, then they are probably paranoid. While this might actually be quite common for a conspiracy theorist, some will go on about how you need to prepare, such as by buying all the guns and ammo you can, to building a bunker and living in isolation. They might also not buy certain things, or from certain business, or put their money in a bank account, because they don't trust them. Some conspiracy theorists who are extremely paranoid will even believe in very bizarre conspiracy theories, or won't even trust their own family. The most paranoid conspiracy theorists most likely wouldn't even use the Internet in the first place, because they fear that the government will use it to track them down and harm them.

3. Obsession

For some conspiracy theorists, conspiracy theories can take over their lives. They become obsessed not only with conspiracy theories, but proving that they are real. Some will even abandon their families, or more likely, their families will abandon them, because of their obsession.

It's pretty easy to spot a conspiracy theorist on the Internet that is obsessed with conspiracy theories, because they won't stop posting about a conspiracy theory until they are convinced that you are convinced that the conspiracy theory that they are talking about is real, or that they have convinced themselves that they have "debunked" a debunking of a conspiracy theory, or they're kicked off of a website, and even then, because of their obsessive needs, they'll constantly try to find a way to get back in.

2. Unable to see the harm in their actions

A conspiracy theorist who is mentally disturbed might not be able to see or figure out that their own actions are harmful, even if what they are posting might be considered illegal. They tend to not to be able to figure out why everyone is making such a big deal over the way they're acting. Some will even admit that their own friends and family have distanced themselves from them, or that they have distanced themselves from their friends and family because they will not accept what he or she believes in.

1. Admits having a Mental Illness

Some conspiracy theorists will admit that they actually are mental ill, but usually the mental illness that they admit to having is usually anxiety based, which can come about after watching and/or experiencing a traumatic event, such as an act of terrorism, or a mass shooting.

So, be cautious about taking conspiracies too serious as well as bundling yourself in with the others. Do your own homework, think outside of the box and measure the amount of time you spend on each interest. Never overload.

Conspiracy Theories, False Red Flags, The Illuminati, Skull and Bones, Vatican Secrets and Scandals, Secret Satanic Rituals, Secrets of Governments, Aliens, Scientists performing basement experiments, Planned World Take Over, Depopulation, Poisoning the masses with Fluoride and vaccinations are all topics we are fascinated with.

That, is the reason we continue to read about them, go to the theater to be scared by them, watch music videos, purchase the songs and even want to dress like the actors and singers who star in them. We even purchase video games to shoot the bad guys with high powered weapons.

Another thing to remember is that we must never become so obsessed with with conspiracy theories that we find ourselves surfing through the Internet like a maniac and then frightening everyone you speak to---especially your family by bombarding them with all the information which you believe will save them-----chances are, they will become convinced that they will be convinced you are, "A few bricks short of a load", a quarter short of a dollar or 1 can short of a six pack.
Just imagine what it will do to your kids if you bombard them daily with this stuff!

Remember that too much of something can cause you damage.

What does “under my umbrella” mean?

In a nutshell, the song talks about a storm that’s about to take place and Rihanna offers her loved one protection under her umbrella. In this song, “You can stand under my umbrella” can have a sexual connotation but it mostly means “You can be under my protection”. When you are under something’s protection, this something has more power than you regarding your own security. You depend on it. It has control over you. IT possesses you. The song is not about love between woman and man, it’s about being protected. It is not an equal relationship. The one that protects basically owns the person that is protected.

Analyzing the song

The first thing that you need to know about the song’s lyrics is that Rihanna sings the whole song but she actually takes on two roles. During the first half of the song, she plays the role of an evil entity that is trying to seduce and possess Rihanna. For the purpose of this analysis we’ll call this entity the Devil. The second role she plays is herself. So the song is basically a dialog between the Devil and Rihanna. The video of the song makes this very clear and we’ll explain how later.

What is possession?

Possession, in relationship to non-human entities deals with the phenomena wherein a non-human entity controls the human being through various methods. In possession, the human being cannot think for themselves. Instead, their thoughts are given to them by their possessor. We’ll see how the Devil tries and succeeds at possessing Rihanna in this song.
There is a reason why the album is called “Good Girl Gone Bad”.

Jay-Z’s verse

So the song starts off with a verse of rapper Jay-Z. He plays the role of someone that has already been possessed and already “under the umbrella” of the Devil. Here’s his verse:

So the “storm” is in fact related to the economy and the financial world. “Coming down with the Dow Jones” reflects this situation. The Dow Jones is the main indicator of the health of the stock market. If it plummets, we can talk about a market crash. You’ll notice that the whole song has a pessimistic outlook concerning the future. Jay-Z is saying “Let it rain”, he doesn’t care about the financial crisis, he “hydroplanes in the bank”. In other words, while the bank is being flooded by this storm and people are drowning in it, he’s above the water and surviving the crisis.

In other words, when the financial crisis will occur, we won’t be here to suffer through it. “Rocafella” is the name of Jay-Z’s record label. It also refers to John D. Rockefeller and his family, the biggest industrialists in American History and huge actors in the formation of the social-economic world we’re currently living in. Many historians claim the Rockefellers have engineered the crash of 1929 to be able to obtain a stronghold on America’s banking system. Congressman Charles A. Lindberg Sr. accurately proclaimed in 1930: “From now on depressions will be scientifically created.”

“We fly higher than the weather” means that Jay-Z cannot be affected by the financial crisis because he is above the problem. He enjoys a protection that makes him invulnerable to the storm. The fact that he says “WE fly higher than the weather” implies that a select few can have the same kind of privileges he has. G5 is a kind of private jet so he will live in luxury even when the crisis strikes the rest of the world.

So Jay-Z lyrics have NOTHING to do with love, friendship or any type of relationship.
His lyrics are saying that he is part of the “chosen”, the elite, the secret group that cannot be harmed by the trials and tribulations of the “small people”.
Even if there’s a major crisis, he’s associated with the very people that make those crisis happen, so he won’t be affected.
This group however bows down and worships evil.
If Rihanna wants to be part of them, she has to do the same.

Rihanna sings this part, but it is actually the Devil talking to Rihanna.
He is “sweet-talking” her so she can accept the idea of the Devil entering her body.

So the Devil is offering Rihanna a lifetime of riches and luxury, even when she’ll lose her popularity and stop generating money from her singing carreer. Tempting isn’t it?

Now the financial crisis is afflicting the world

What’s up with the Ella Ella eh’s? It sounds catchy doesn’t it? The repetitive and hypnotic rhythm of this chant makes it very reminiscent of magical spells, conjurations.

2nd Verse

When the war has took it’s part

When the world has dealt it’s cards

If the hand is hard, together we’ll mend your heart

All of your material possessions will never separate me and you

“You’re part of my entity” is very relevant here because “entity” is not a word in the vocabulary used between loved ones. Nobody will say to his/her lover “You’re part of my entity”. An entity is not human.

“Here for Infinity” also gives a non-human feel to the lyrics, as if this power doesn’t live or die, it is immortal.

“When the war has took it’s part/ When the world has dealt it’s cards” is a particularly gloomy passage. It basically predicts a terrible event that will strike severely the entire world and that will rearrange the way it will function afterwards.

Once again, we refer to a huge crisis that is about to occur and the Devil is trying to convince Rihanna to let him protect her.

This part is actually a dialogue between the Devil and Rihanna. It is difficult to notice because there is no difference in the tone of voice. The video however gives a visual clue of the dialogue by reversing the image when Rihanna answers the Devil.

So, the Devil is telling Rihanna

It’s okay don’t be alarmed”

Translation:

“You can come and seek my protection
Don’t be scared of the crisis”

Rihanna answers

“Come into me” as in

“come inside of my body and possess me”

Both Rihanna and Devil say

“There’s no distance between our love” .

The Devil is effectively now INSIDE of her, there’s no more distance between them.

And the Devil finishes by saying:

Marine Le Pen’s camp is taking the singer to court after she screened a video that juxtaposes a swastika over the FN party leader’s head at a concert in Paris this weekend.

PARIS - A recent concert in Paris has proven to have fallout for Madonna who is expected to be sued by France’s Front National party for screening a video with an image of right wing politician Marine Le Pen with a swastika superimposed on her face.

Right-Wing French Politician Tells Madonna to Pay $1 Million Over Controversial Video

Madonna screened the footage in Tel Aviv earlier this year, and the FN party spoke out against the music star, but chose not to pursue her in court, threatening only that if she brought the video to France, there would be trouble. Le Pen warned, "If she does that in France, we'll be waiting for her.”

Despite the warnings, Madonna has crossed the French borderline with the video and screened it for the more than 70,000 people who attended her concert on Saturday at the Stade de France.

The video was projected onto a huge screen and includes Le Pen’s face and also Madonna’s and those of other public figures like Pope Benedict, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Hu Jintao and Sarah Palin during the singer’s performance of “Nobody Knows Me.”

Le Pen’s face appears for just a few seconds with a swastika superimposed on it before the video cuts to the image of a man resembling Adolf Hitler.

“We can’t accept this!” FN vice-president Florian Philippot told French press of what she called a “very serious insult,” adding: “Marine Le Pen is defending her own honor, but also that of the Front National’s members, its supporters and its millions of voters.”

Le Pen’s team says a private plaintiff’s case for public insult will be presented to the Paris courts in the coming days.

No word yet on what Le Pen is seeking in damages, but her father, FN leaders Jean-Marie Le Pen, spoke out in Lyon in early June recommending that his daughter “ask Madame Madonna -- and everyone who organized her international show -- for $1 million.”

“Showing Marine Le Pen’s image with a swastika is like saying she is a nazi,” the FN party’s lawyer Me Wallerand de Saint-Just told Gallic press.

French anti-racism group SOS Racisme, however, has come out to support Madonna, calling the video “resolutely anti-racist and feminist” and showing that ““that the fight against discrimination is a fundamental combat,” the group said in a statement.

While the FN have not been shy about their anti-Semitic or racist leanings in the past, Le Pen has made concerted efforts to branch away from her father Jean-Marie’s legacy and even managed to win over 20 percent of voters during the first round of France’s Presidential elections this year.

Madonna is scheduled to perform another concert in Nice on August 21 as part of her multi-city tour that includes more than 80 performances.

The North American currency union is a theorized economic and monetary union of the three principal countries of North America, namely Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Implementation would probably involve the three countries giving up their current currency units (Canadian dollar, U.S. dollar, and Mexican pesos) and adopting a new one, created specifically for this purpose. The hypothetical currency for the union is most often referred to as the amero. The concept is modeled on the common European Union currency (the euro), and it is argued to be a natural extension of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP). Conspiracy theorists contend that the governments of the United States, Canada, and Mexico are already taking steps to implement such a currency. No current members of any country's government have stated a desire to implement a "North American Union".

The idea for a North American currency union was first proposed in 1999 by Canadian economist Herbert G. Grubel. A senior fellow of the conservative Fraser Institute think-tank, he published a book entitled The Case for the Amero in September 1999, the year that the euro became a virtual currency. Another Canadian think-tank, the C.D. Howe Institute, advocates the creation of a shared currency between Canada and the United States.

After the report came out, centre-left nationalist groups in Canada expressed their opposition to any currency union because they view it as an attempt by American businesses to gain access to Canada's extensive natural resources while dismantling the nation's social services. The 100,000 member strong Council of Canadians, a progressive advocacy group, has declared one of its central issues to be the threat of "deep integration".

The idea envisioned is a currency union of the US dollar, Canadian dollar, and the peso, or the dollarization of Canada and Mexico.

Lou Dobbs, a reporter and commentator for CNN, has posited that the formation of a "North American Union" is being approached without the knowledge and consent of the majority of the people who would be affected by this.

Hunter stated that: "Unfortunately, very little is known about the NAFTA Super Highway. This amendment will provide Congress the opportunity to exercise oversight of the highway, which remains a subject of question and uncertainty, and ensure that our safety and security will not be compromised in order to promote the business interests of our neighbors." Fellow Republican Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul brought the issue to mainstream prominence during the December 2007 CNN-YouTube GOP debate, where he rejected the concept and also called it "the NAFTA Superhighway" and, like Hunter, framed it within "the ultimate goal" of creating a North American Union.

A former member of the “Church of Scientology” explained the process and said… “The subject holds electrode handles on a device called an e-meter and is then asked a series of personal questions (see questions here) that help the Church locate “areas of spiritual distress.”

In 2005, Holmes told a close source that she had witnessed Tom’s other children participate in what she described was a ritual. It was disturbing to Holmes and she feared that Cruise might put Suri through it. "The oddball apparatus is called an E meter, and Travolta uses it every
day. He and fellow Scientologists Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, and Kirstie
Alley say the lie-detector-like machine measures mental anguish. The
faithful claim it's so sensitive, it can pick up the pain a human feels
when pricked by a nail.

"'You hold two metal rods in your hands, and an experienced teacher can
tell from the movements of the needles on the meter where the problem is
in your body and soul,' Travolta told the German magazine STERN. 'I use
it every day, at home or in the celebrity center in Hollywood. I also
take a machine with me with I'm on location. It's a religious device and I
enjoy it. I'm always totally refreshed by it.'

"Travolta vehemently denies claims that Scientologists have been
brainwashed. 'That is frightful garbage,' he says. 'Do you really believe
that I would stand for something like that? The courses help me solve my
problems. I also attend religious counseling where, with a spiritual

A Current Affair: Scientology E-Meter

Just how long would I have to run a small electric current through your body, while telling you things that you wanted to hear, before you became convinced that I held the secrets of the universe?

Scientology uses a device they call an "E-Meter", which, from examination of its own patents as well as recent judicial decree in the United Kingdom, is nothing more that a classic electric circuit known as the "Wheatstone Bridge".

First published appearance was found in an advertisement for an "electric lie detector", being promoted as a party stunt in 1941.

This same functional device is used as one of the several monitoring instruments, the "Skin Galvan-ometer," of the professional "Lie Detector" used for high security in federal Agencies and Law Enforcement.

The difference to note is that unlike the professional use in law enforcement, where the sessions are brief and non-repetitive, public persons in Scientology are exposed to the E-Meter for a lifetime exposure of thousands of hours. The device is used throughout the expensive "therapy" that Scientology calls "auditing" as well as during study and training sessions, by adults as well as children.

During a rare interview with the current defacto Leader in Scientology, Ted Koppel asked David Miscavige: "What is the E Meter doing?" His reply was "Well, it is a meter there and it sends a little electrical flow through your body, something very tiny, you cannot feel it."

In The FDA versus Article or Device Case [The E-Meter] the Federal Government held that "by itself the E-meter does nothing."

But, ladies and gentlemen, that was a conclusion based upon the hard science available at that time [1971 Gissell Decision]. It is now 30 years later. The same science that brought the controls on electro magnetic radiation limitations for computer monitors is new science. And it is not the varying magnetic and electric fields that cause harm - it is the transformer-like, induced electrical currents in the human body due to these electromagnetic fields.

Measurement made by this author, (who spent some time while in Scientology actually involved in the building of E-Meters) , of a Mark Super VII [tm] model of Scientology's E-Meter yielded the following: The E-meter can expose the human body with a left hand to right hand current up to 300 Micro Amps. 1/3rd of the value that is generally considered noticeable by a person. In fact some members have reported to me, being able to feel the current go through their bodies.

It has been long known that very low amounts of electricity, given over time, can be highly addictive in a certain percentage of the population.

I am now going to outline 2 different analogies in order to illustrate the hidden danger here.

Electroplating

When a metal such as Chromium is plated onto another metal - as in the making of chrome-plated hardware for automobiles, for example:

The rate of deposition of chromium metal out of the plating solution onto the metal article is a function of the current in amperes and the surface area being plated. One can deposit the same amount of metal at one tenth of one ampere in 1 minute, as one would deposit with 1 hundredth of an ampere in ten minutes - or - 1 thousandth of an ampere in 100 minutes.

There is an electrical unit called a Coulomb, which is, in fact, defined in terms of grams of metal deposited. It is a unit of charge. In fact it is an actual discrete number of electrons - or charge carriers.

Handbook of Chemistry and Physics by Robert C Weast Phd, 1968 defines the coulomb as: "A unit quantity of electricity. It is the quantity of electricity which must pass through a circuit to deposit 0.0011180 grams of silver from a solution of silver nitrate. A coulomb is also the quantity of electricity on the positive plate of a condenser of one-farad capacity when the electromotive force [voltage] is 1 volt.

The point being that if the number of actual charge carriers is what is the factor, that is, if it is the actual ionic transfers that do the work [plate the metal] or as I will illustrate later that mediate actual activity at the cell wall boundaries, the opening and closing of ion exchange pathways through individual cell walls, THEN the E-Meter cannot be said to do nothing. It *IS* having a physiological effect on internal and external cellular functions.

The magnitude of charge provided to a human body in a 2.5 hour exposure to the E-meter is approximately 1 coulomb.

The magnitude of charge provided to the human body by a set of three shocks used in a single treatment of Electro Convulsive Shock therapy, ECT, is only 1.2 coulombs.

Ironic isn't it, that Scientology's pet arch demonic enemy, psychiatrists, in shock treatment, give people essentially the same dose of electric charge that Scientology will give the unsuspecting public in one session?

There are various devices on the market, all licensed for use by the FDA under the direction of a physician, which consist of two electrodes which are applied to various parts of the body, as in the treatment of lower back pain. The method by which these devices provide the sensation of pain relief has been the subject of much investigation.

The surprising findings indicate that direct electrical stimulation of human body tissues evoke a release of various peptides. Peptides are messenger molecules that have specific sites on cell surfaces to which they bind. These sites, called receptor sites, are extraordinarily specific to individual peptides.

It is remarkable that the body has a group of peptides called endorphins. These particular messenger molecules evoke a pain killing effect when they bind at their specific receptors. The actual amount of charge delivered to the body by many FDA approved medical devices is of the identical order of magnitude of the small current provided by the Scientology E-Meter.

Thus, I conclude that the E-meter directly provides a pain killing adjunct to the implied result of Scientology auditing technology's release state.

This is also the source of the sag effect of a participant feeling great after auditing, yet having a sagging emotion tone some few days later - as his bodies endorphin levels go down past normal in a hang over effect, in which, like a heroin addict, he wants another dose, only it is a dose of auditing.

John Travolta merely substituted the Scientology [tm] belief system, together with its subliminal, hidden, electrically induced endorphin "rush", for cocaine. He thinks he is "better", because the electrical addiction is hidden from him; he was just given a substitute.

Cruise married actress and Scientology member Mimi Rogers back in May 9, 1987, which was a year after Top Gun hit theaters. Rogers is generally believed to have introduced Cruise to Scientology. But some think it also could have been the former Don Simpson, who produced Top Gun which came out in 1986. Cruise and Rogers divorced on February 4, 1990.

Cruise married Nicole Kidman right after his first divorce, and she became a member of church. It is unknown how involved she became, but she left the church sometime around their divorce.

Cruise reached a super level as a Scientologist, deeming him “Clear,” which means he got access to the “Xenu” information, plus he obtained other high level permissions.

Cruise married Katie Holmes in 2006, just after having their child Suri together. Holmes became involved in the church through Tom, but did not attend CoS events without him. Holmes filed divorce with Cruise on June 28, 2012 in NYC, and requested sole custody of their daughter Suri. Some say that her disbelief in Scientology plus the “Minders” who followed her around, could have been their deal breaker, and that’s why she filed.

Cruise is still a member of the CoS, but he does not attend big church events. He has made videos for the church, and is said to be a face of the church- bringing positive publicity to it as well.

This excerpt, which leaves out a lot of the COS-related discussion, only details Part One of the interview. Personally, I cannot wait to read Part Two, but I am delighted to see that Brousseau has already confirmed that Katie’s “maternal instinct kicked in,” which lends credence to the claim that Katie had snapped over CO$ demands over Suri.

I mean really, they were actually telling her that she couldn’t discipline her own child. Nobody goes there.

Scientologist beliefs consider children as small adults and insist that there is no reason for them to be treated differently from anyone else. Thus Suri wearing adult clothing and make up.

You see what happens when Katie Holmes gets the robot control panel made of recycled Atari parts taken out of her brain and replaces it with an actual human brain that is capable of freely producing independent thoughts on its own?

Katie somehow decided that Suri Cruise doesn't need a shoe closet full of high heels or a 1,000 square foot dressing room with racks and racks of designer clothes in it. Katie wants Suri to be simpler and expects her to buy clothes off the rack at Old Navy like she's an Affleck daughter or any other normal child.

A source tells something called Revel Magazine that since Suri is going to Catholic school and will soon wear uniforms, Katie doesn't think there's any need for lipstick, heels or couture dresses in her life. Tommy Cruise is the one who let Suri slather the lipstick on and Katie's always thought that it was wrong.

"Katie has been returning unsolicited gifts and loans from designers for Suri since she arrived in New York. She's issued instructions to remove Suri from all freebie lists. She's also put the word out in LA to stop any mini-me diva products being sent her way. Tom loved to spoil Suri and indulge her, but Katie has other ideas."

In conclusion, past reports have confirmed to us that Tom has abused CO$ partitioners and gleefully accepted their free labor to plant wheat fields for he and Kidman to (also gleefully) run through. Tom probably believes that slave labor is romantic, but I think that he’s merely obsessed with Miscavige for what he can provide with little demand. This new account from Brousseau is quite interesting though — will Miscavige ever truly throw Tom under the bus for a new “face of Scientology” (John Travolta, perhaps)? At this point, I don’t think Miscavige even has that option. Nope. David famously accompanied Tom on his honeymoon with Katie, and so it follows that Tom and David will forever be thick as thieves together. Happily ever after.

Over the weekend, Katie Holmes stepped out with a “male friend” who seemed to be just that. Although Katie has officially cancelled her first scheduled red-carpet appearance since filing for divorce from Tom Cruise, she’s still leading her own life in New York City. She and her friend (honestly, the dude seems like a gay boyfriend, and I can attest from personal experience that every girl could use several of them) kissed each other on the cheek (Katie is described as “radiant” in the aftermath), and the tabloids are going wild. Meanwhile, poor little (lift-wearing) Tom is merely trying to do the best “dad” job he can do by inviting the tabloids to witness his Suri reunion in the face of such adversity. Now the Mail has provided us details of an “anguished” Tom in the days after Katie filed for divorce:

Tom Cruise refused to leave his hotel in the English countryside to return to New York last week as he continued to struggle with the aftermath of his marriage break-up.

The Hollywood star, 50, extended his stay at five-star The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, telling aides he couldn’t face going back to the States after Katie Holmes filed for divorce.

Everything was packed and ready to go,” said a source close to the actor. “The jet had been refueled and the flight scheduled but a call came in from his assistant saying he was refusing to leave. He was talking about not being ready to go back to America.”

Hotel sources say Cruise, who had been meeting executives at Pinewood Studios, eventually left early on Thursday. “He spent all his time in his room,” added the source. “It was the first time he had off work to just clear his head.”

Tom was so, so clueless within his marriage, and he remains so willfully blind to everything in his path. Like, we’re supposed to feel bad for Tom for wondering, “What’s happening?” Because you know, mean old Katie filed for divorce and felt compelled to use burner phones to hide her legal maneuverings from her soon-to-be ex-husband. Yet Tom is the one who yelled for 4 straight days when Katie dared to question the rules of the CO$, which leads me to believe that Tom wants what he wants, and the CO$ provides it. Anything else is unorthodox in Tom’s world. Also, the Mail has also provided a few strategically-placed photos of Tom with graying stubble.

Last month, CB reported that Scientology head David Miscavige was literally”obsessed with Tom Cruise, and indeed, that sentiment is what we have heard up until now — that the CO$ spied on Tom for 4 years to bring him back from a decade-long (thanks to Nicole Kidman) defection and that Miscavige would do anything to get his prize back. Now there’s a new interview of a former Tom Cruise lackey, however, which comes courtesy of Tony Ortega of the Village Voice. I absolutely love reading accounts like this from people who previously worked quote closely with Cruise. Here are some excerpts:

Until now, I’ve never told [John] Brousseau’s entire story as a 32-year member of Scientology and the last person to escape from the International Base who is talking publicly about it. Brousseau’s tale is one of the most remarkable to come out of the secretive organization, and one that parallels so much of Scientology’s own development and controversies.

He and Miscavige were brothers in law. They were both young cameramen working for Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard during his movie-making phase. Brousseau was Hubbard’s personal chauffeur and helped maintain the cloak of secrecy when Hubbard vanished for good. He watched Miscavige transform Scientology and turn its base into a prison camp. He worked for Tom Cruise, which included serving in the household with Cruise and Katie Holmes. And having worked closely with both Cruise and Miscavige, he has choice things to say about the nature of their relationship.

For Christmas 2006, Tom Cruise took his family to a house that had been upgraded and transformed. It was his place in Telluride, Colorado, and he was there with his wife Katie Holmes, their eight-month-old daughter Suri, his mother, and his older children, Isabella and Connor. There was also a full set of people working to make sure that everything went smoothly, as well as the man wrangling them, who had also overseen the house’s upgrade. He was John Brousseau.

“I was making sure everything was beautiful and clean. I made sure the servants knew what they were doing. They had to learn how to make things go right without being visible — I learned that from Miscavige. I would show the staff that it’s not your job to bump into Tom in the hallway. It’s your job to make sure everything’s right, but be invisible. Anticipate his every move. You had to be there with a salt shaker before he even realized he needed it,” he says. “I was sitting there having meals with Tom and Katie and the family. It was like we were guests.”

I asked how the couple appeared to him. “They looked really terrific at that time. They were a hit; it was very evident to me. They were still gaga. At the end of the day, Suri was put to bed; Connor and Bella were in bed. Most of the help had gone home. I’d still be around. And Tom and Katie would go off on their own to chat. They seemed really genuinely happy.”

I asked Brousseau for his impressions of Katie Holmes. “Tom Cruise was the dream of her life since she was a little girl. The Church of Scientology wasn’t. That was just glued on to the package. They put Jessica Rodriguez on her and she must have thought, what the f#*k is happening? I didn’t marry a person, I married an entourage.”

Rodriguez — born Jessica Feshbach — was from a legendary family in Scientology. She became Katie’s “handler,” and was seen at every public appearance during those early years in the relationship. (We hear that Jessica is now gravely ill, and I’ve wondered if Jessica’s absence was a factor in Katie’s ability to secretly plan such a slick getaway from Cruise and the church.)

Brousseau left Scientology in 2010, but I asked him why he thought Katie acted the way she did when she surprised Cruise with her divorce filing. “The maternal instinct kicked in. And Katie’s parents pointed things out. And Katie had read sh-t. And Suri is six,” Brousseau conjectures. “You don’t f#*k with a mother’s child. She just figured the best thing was to yank her little girl out of there, and good for her.”

When Miscavige took Cruise to the base’s shooting range, Brousseau helped out. “I was the gun guy. I’d shoot the first couple of shells to make sure the gun wasn’t going to blow up. Then I’d hand it to Tom.” Brousseau says this was also when he first got to work for Tom, the first of many jobs making or repairing things for the actor. “I got to customize a Bluebird motor home for him. It had custom hard surfaces and upholstery,” he says. Another Sea Org member who was an audiophile made sure the vehicle had the latest hi fi equipment.

“Tom paid for everything. The church never bought stuff. When it came down to paying for stuff, Tom paid for it. But he didn’t pay us,” Brousseau says. As Sea Org members, Brousseau and the others who worked on Tom’s vehicles and properties were paid only about $50 a week by the church, even though their hours could reach 100 a week.

After that initial encounter with Cruise at the Int Base in 1991, the actor made himself scarce, Brousseau says. “He was with Nicole Kidman at the time. But then, he sort of fell away after that. He was gone from Scientology for like ten years. That’s where Marty came in, to get him back in.” During that period, Brousseau also began to work more closely with Cruise. “In 2002, Marty was auditing him and getting him through his OT levels. And I went to his house on Alpine Drive in Beverly Hills. I was put in charge of a complete overhaul of his house,” Brousseau says. David Miscavige’s wife, Shelly, was overseeing the project, and was pushing everyone to hurry.

Brousseau says Cruise had been impressed with the way Miscavige lived at his rooms in the “Upper Villa” on the base, and his apartment in Hollywood. When Cruise complained that he couldn’t get his own place and staff the way he wanted it, Miscavige reassured him that he’d take care of it. “The result was people like me going and working for Tom, making his house perfect. We even landscaped the grounds, everything was transformed. I was the technical guy, directing people, getting the irrigation fixed, the windows, doors, gutters, even the light bulbs.”

After doing many projects not only on Cruise’s house, but also with his vehicles and his airport hangar in Burbank, Brousseau says he got to know the man pretty well. “He’s got more energy than the local grid. But he’s not very smart. He has so much energy, and he always has to be doing something with somebody.” That’s backed up by something a person who worked closely with Cruise for many years told me recently about watching him during his marriage to Kidman: “Tom can’t be alone. He goes nuts if there’s not someone else around him, someone he can bug about stuff. He’d walk around the house, saying ‘Where’s Nick? Where’s Nick?’ He was like a kid that way.”

Hearing Brousseau talk about all the work he was doing around Cruise’s Beverly Hills house in 2002, I had to ask: had Tom Cruise really been living in squalor before the Int Base crew arrived? “It was bullsh-t,” he says. Yes, they improved the place, but Cruise hadn’t been living in a dump to begin with. “Why did it need to be done? It was Miscavige.” Brousseau says he had ample opportunity to examine the two men up close. And it taught him that theirs was a very uneven relationship. “It isn’t the same both ways. Miscavige would throw Tom Cruise under a bus in a minute. But Tom thinks Miscavige is the greatest person in the world. He worships him like a god. Miscavige would pretend that Tom was his best friend, but you could see it was horsesh-t. Tom couldn’t see it.”

After his Christmas with Tom and Katie and baby Suri in 2006, Brousseau saw them only occasionally. Brousseau says he had bigger things to worry about. It had become, he says, the period of “Miscavige unplugged” as Int Base increasingly became a prison camp and more and more top executives were being “disappeared” — at the same time that Tom Cruise was being hailed by Miscavige as the church’s epitome of dedication. “The only thing I have against Tom is that he accepted this sh-t.”

Since he left Scientology, Brousseau has released photographs of the work he did for Tom Cruise — work that was unpaid, and that some have used to argue that Cruise and Miscavige benefited— enriching that violates Scientology’s tax-exempt status. “The reason I’ve released those photos is because I want Tom to wake up.

I remember at the time, I was being told I was doing a good job on these things for him. But I was thinking, what the f%k am I doing? How the hell is this helping humanity? Why am I being flown to Telluride to be the babysitter for Connor and Bella? What the f#k was I doing?”

Read the email from a mom who blames the church for the death of her son ...

A former Scientologist passed this email a source.

It was written by the mother of 27-year-old Alexander Jentzsch, a member of the Church who died on July 3.

The mom, Karen de La Carriere, a dealer in Thomas Kinkade paintings, had previously been excommunicated from the church and says she was banned from seeing her son for two years.

She blames the Church for destroying her family, and imprisoning her former husband in a Scientology "base." Jentzsch died following a traffic accident, but it's not clear what the actual cause of death is.

De La Carriere's email uses a lot of Scientology jargon, some of which is difficult to translate for outsiders. But the part about her son "cleaning toilets and mopping floors" while other children were in school is pretty easy to understand.

The Church of Scientology did not immediately respond to a message requesting comment.

I am emailing you as a friend and fellow Scientologist to let you know about the mysterious and sudden death of my son Alexander Jentzsch at 27 years of age on July 3, 2012.

Although I am not in the Sea Org right now, I served aboard the Flagship Apollo where I was trained by LRH to the level of Class XII C/S. I am one of only seven Class XII C/S’ LRH ever made.

After LRH took Flag ashore in Clearwater, I met and fell in love with Heber Jentzsch. We married and Heber went on to become the President of the Church of Scientology International. I remained devoted to LRH and to my duties as a Class XII C/S at Flag. I won “Auditor of the Year” at Flag numerous times.

In 1984, I gave birth to our son Alexander.

Alexander Jentzsch was born in the Sea Org. He formally joined the Sea Org when he was eight years old. Despite the promises that Sea Org recruiters made to Alexander, he did not receive a proper education. While other children were in school, Alexander was cleaning toilets and mopping floors at Flag. As a child working in the Sea Org, Alexander was made to work long hours and would sometimes sneak away to call me on the phone in tears.

While LRH had made family time a daily requirement in the Sea Org, things radically changed under COB RTC David Miscavige and family time virtually disappeared. Unless there is a death or a PR flap of some kind, Sea Org members are almost never allowed to see their families. Alexander seldom saw his father, Heber. Factually, years would go by between the times Alexander was allowed to see his father. Alexander called himself "The Boy with no Dad". He saw Heber less than 11 times in 14 years.

COB RTC David Miscavige ordered Heber Jentzsch and I to be divorced and has utterly destroyed our 2nd dynamic.

I was suddenly a single mother with a child to support. Heber was unable to pay any child support. Indeed, Heber could not even support himself on his $50 per week Sea Org pay. I did not protest this as Heber was the President of the Church of Scientology International and I did not want to create a flap for the Church. The Church had me sign affidavits on video camera that I would never ask for child support...

I routed out of the Sea Org in 1990 and took many years to pay off my $90,000 Freeloader Debt. I paid my Freeloader Debt so that I could remain a Scientologist in good standing. I knew LRH and knew the Tech worked miracles.

After I left the Sea Org, I remained a loyal member of the Church of Scientology. I raised Alexander by myself and supported him financially when he entered the Sea Org. Alexander served on many posts during the sixteen years he was in the Sea Org. When he was a young man, Alexander married Andrea Kavon, a fellow Sea Org member.

Alexander and Andrea Jentzsch routed out of the Sea Org in 2010 due to the fact that Andrea was pregnant and babies are not allowed in the Sea Org. The baby spontaneously aborted.

Sometime after they routed out, I made the decision to publicly depart the Church in 2010 for the same reasons Debbie Cook outlined in her letter of January 1, 2012. Like Debbie, I saw the Church engaging in extreme over-regging and gross out tech. Having been trained to deliver the highest technical levels of Scientology possible, I know what Standard Tech is and is not. My decision to leave the Church was based upon my deep respect for LRH and my 100% commitment to preserve his legacy and technology. I could no longer be a part of what was happening in the Church under the deeply suppressive management of David Miscavige.

I was declared a Suppressive Person. My son Alexander and his wife were forced to disconnect from me by OSA when I left the Church.

In 2010, Alexander’s father Heber Jentzsch was 75 years old and had not been allowed to see our son for many years. Heber has been locked up in the Int Base RPF for many years and remains locked up with other International executives.

Due to the policies of Disconnection and RPF, Alexander effectively had no parents in 2010.

After he left the Sea Org, Alexander took a job in sales at a Scientology-owned company in Dallas. During this time in Dallas, Alexander was involved in a traffic accident that injured him to such an extent that he began to take prescription pain pills. Alexander lost his job and began on a downward spiral.

Because Alexander did not have $10,000 or more, the Church of Scientology would not and give him any auditing to handle the engram from the traffic accident. The Church would not even give Alexander any charity Chaplain auditing. It did not matter that Alexander’s parents had served more than fifty years in the Sea Org. There is no compassion or mercy in the Church in present time.

As a Class XII C/S, I have the technical skills necessary to help anyone. I could have helped my son Alexander handle the engram from the traffic accident. However, due to the policy of Disconnection no one from the Church of Scientology ever called me to let me know that my only child had been badly injured in a traffic accident.

As an art dealer, I have a good income. I would have immediately paid to give my son the best medical care possible. Again, however, due to the policy of Disconnection no one from the Church of Scientology ever called me to let me know that Alexander had been badly injured in a traffic accident.

It came as a shock to me, then, when someone called me to let me know that Alexander had been found dead in his bed on the morning of July 3, 2012.

Alexander died at the home of his in-laws in Los Angeles. Both of his in-laws are New OT VII’s.

It was only after I began to ask questions that I learned of the traffic accident and that Alexander had allegedly died from a high fever.

Through its spokesperson, the Church was very quick to publicly state that Alexander has left no suicide note and had over-medicated himself. This was a strange and suspicious claim coming from the same Church that claims to have the most powerful technology on the planet. I am working very hard to find out the truth about my son Alexander’s death because the Church will not tell me anything and has forbidden Andrea or her family from telling me anything.

The behavior of the Church raises questions: Where was the tech when Alexander needed it? He served 16 years in the Sea Org. Why not a lifeline in his time of need?

Why did two New OT VII’s allow a fellow Scientologist in good standing to over-medicate himself?

Why had two OT’s failed to help Alexander? This is a gross violation of point one of the Code of Honor written by LRH in 1954:

Never desert a comrade in need, in danger or in trouble.

Alexander was clearly in need, danger, and trouble and yet he was utterly deserted by the Church of Scientology.

I wanted only to cremate my son quickly per the scriptures of Scientology. When I sent a messenger over to the home of Alexander’s in-laws to ask for his body, I was told:

· Any communication between Andrea and myself must go through OSA

· There would be no funeral or viewing for Alexander

· Worse, I was told that I would not be allowed to take one last look at my son

This is the Church of Scientology in 2012 under David Miscavige:

· An LRH-trained Class XII C/S cannot use the tech to help her own son

· A grieving mother cannot see her son’s body one last time

· No one will help a comrade in need, danger, or trouble for fear of incurring the wrath of David Miscavige or OSA

The Church did not tell me that Alexander died. I had to find out from someone who cared enough to tell me.

The Church never told you why Debbie Cook left as Captain of FSO. Instead, Debbie Cook sent out a letter herself to tell you why.

The Church is not telling you that LRH’s granddaughter Roanne Horwich recently blew from Int Base.

The Church of Scientology under David Miscavige is a Church full of secrets, lies, and injustices.

I am writing this letter to let you know that the Church has tried to keep secret the news that Alexander Jentzsch – whose father Heber is still the President of CSI – died.

Scientology is an esoteric religion in which the faith is revealed gradually to those who invest their time and money to master Mr. Hubbard’s teachings. Scientologists believe that human beings are impeded by negative memories from past lives, and that by applying Mr. Hubbard’s “technology,” they can reach a state known as, clear.

They may spend hundreds of hours in one-on-one “auditing” sessions, holding the slim silver-colored handles of an e-meter while an auditor asks them questions and takes notes on what they say and on the e-meter’s readings.

By doing enough auditing, taking courses and studying Mr. Hubbard’s books and lectures — for which some Scientologists say they have paid as much as $1 million — Scientologists believe that they can proceed up the “bridge to total freedom” and live to their full abilities as Operating Thetans, pure spirits. They do believe in God, or a Supreme Being that is associated with infinite potential.

W hat is a Thetan?

In Scientology, a thetan is the term corresponding to one's "spirit", and a Body Thetan is another thetan (spirit) who is 'stuck' in, on or near a human "meat body" because of an incident caused by an ancient galactic lord named Xenu. All human bodies were said by L. Ron Hubbard to be covered in clusters of these misplaced thetans.

This information was originally published openly by Hubbard and the Church of Scientology in a number of "policy bulletins" (HCOBs) and "policy letters" (HCOPLs), but were later made secret.

The defectors say that the average Scientology member, known in the church as a public, is largely unaware of the abusive environment experienced by staff members. The church works hard to cultivate public members — especially celebrities like Tom Cruise, John Travolta and Nancy Cartwright (the voice of the cartoon scoundrel Bart Simpson) — whose money keeps it running.

But recently even some celebrities have begun to abandon the church, the most prominent of whom is the director and screenwriter Paul Haggis, who won Oscars for “Million Dollar Baby” and “Crash.” Mr. Haggis had been a member for 35 years. His resignation letter, leaked to a defectors’ Web site, recounted his indignation as he came to believe that the defectors’ accusations must be true.

“These were not the claims made by ‘outsiders’ looking to dig up dirt against us,” Mr. Haggis wrote. “These accusations were made by top international executives who had devoted most of their lives to the church.”

This 185,000-square-foot printing and distribution center in Los Angeles is staffed entirely by Church members.

Mr. Davis second generation Scientology, grew up as a Scientologist and since age 19 has been a member of the Sea Organization, or Sea Org, the elite “religious order” that runs the church. His mother is the actress Anne Archer.

The church now owns 54 properties in Clearwater, including hotels, office buildings, a bus depot and a mail center
– staffed by members of the Sea Org.

Copies of L. Ron Hubbard’s book “Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health,”
which is translated into many different languages, are for sale in a gift shop. Dianetics
is considered a basic introduction to Scientology.

The sign on the door shows that a confidential auditing session is in process.
Auditing is a one-on-one counseling process in which Scientologists believe
they can expunge negative memories from past lives
and reach a state of “clear.”

THE E-METER

According to sources…actress Katie Holmes, filed for divorce from actor Tom Cruise, in a desperate attempt to save their daughter Suri from the religious practices of the “Church of Scientology.”

Suri is now 6 years old, the age when kids reportedly start becoming more involved in Scientology.

Holmes feared that Cruise, a devout member of the organization, would subject their daughter to the principals and practices of “Scientology” which she was totally against. One in particular is referred to by ex-Scientology call “sec checking” a process of the interrogation that Holmes did not agree with.

The security check (or sec check) is a practice instituted in 1960 by founder L. Ron Hubbard. Hubbard described security checking as a remedy for “unreasonable action”, specifically “the compulsion or obsession to commit actions” the person feels must be kept secret.

In 2005, Holmes told a close source that she had witnessed Tom’s other children participate in what she described was a ritual. It was disturbing to Holmes and she feared that Cruise might put Suri through it. The bulk of the questions deal with criminal or sexual activity or intentions, or other things that the interviewee might be ashamed of.

We're still not sure what Scientologists will be subjected to when they have their sense of "oiliness" checked, but we found this rendering of the apparatus.

A must-read summation that all scientologists and those who desire the knowledge to understand how to deal with the scientology problem must read.

A) WORD CLEARING 'Tech" Oh that I might turn using a dictionary to the point of absurdum into a technology of learning {tm} If a person disagrees with anything he is reading he is made to run through the hoops of wordclearing at every turn. After a while, the hassle time and expense conditions the Scientologist to go-along-to-git-along.
Consider that Hubbard did not really discover study technology PROOF HERE, and if you are required to read something that makes no sense, and then use a dictionary to try and make it make sense, what might be really going on instead? HINT - LINK

B) DOUBT - 'Doubt is NOT a CRIME', though Bob Minton's 'Scientology is a Fascist Organization' has gotten much airplay, that slogan was generated at the LMT also. If a person expresses any doubt, he has to jump through the time consuming hoops of the conditions formulas. And good luck getting the real statistics of Scientology, because all scientology really makes is more scientologists, and more intimidated-into-silence ex-members.

D) DISCONNECTION - family's are broken apart, parents don't even get a phone call at Christmas, when members are forced to disconnect from friends and family who are guilty only of maintaining critical thinking, e.g. not swallowing Hubbard's coswallop whole or daring to show a member this web site!

E) Admission to yourself that you are not perfect. ( Only Scientologists have a need and demand to be perfect ' actors ', duplicating RON The King of Cons, who was 'perfect' - The TR training courses are very similar to some ACTING classes..) and perfect? Hubbard was a nearly perfect liar.

F) Admission to yourself that you have been defrauded... this is tough one... to admit that one has been hoodwinked...Not getting to this point within the 2 year statute of limitations for fraud is designed into the plan. That is one of the purposes of the once "Secret" "Upper levels"

G) Consequences (embarrassment or worse) of all those things you thought were secret, that you divulged in auditing, wrote up on writeups, or application forms, all being used against you. - or given to Private Investigators to use as a template for investigation. 99% of investigation is knowing where to look, Scientology does help them with that. That is why all the attention to security checks.. and write-ups.

Those of you who have survived the scientology experience, consider all that you experienced, and all that you learned from this view: Consider how so much in scientology is devoted to extortionate conduct - to direct or implied intimidation, that encourages you to be silent.

The implication of dire consequences if you might take a few steps toward considering you have been defrauded by lies.

( Ex OSA and GO folks who have actual crimes, are motivated to be silence even more, because their crimes can not just embarrass them but be used for criminal prosecution if scientology were to give the information to the proper agencies )
Staff members face additional challenges, of being imprisoned and having their minds permanently scrambled in Scientology's gulags - the RPF then they have to escape the 100+ security cameras in Clearwater or the razor wires and fenced compounds at Golden Era, Hemet California to work through the steps above and then face what's coming below

Well, making it this far is wonderful, but wait, there's even MORE!

H) Non-disclosure and Security Bonds - Before a person is allowed onto any of the once secret 'levels' they are required to agree to never disclose the contents of those levels. Further, many staff members, are required to sign Security BONDS which demand payment of a fixed amount $100,000 or more if the agreement is breached.

No civil contract can legally compel an individual to conceal criminal conduct, including fraud, nor can any contract signed under duress even have merit. Judge Brinkema, in RTC vs Lerma ignored all of scientology's scientologist attorney Earle C. Cooley's many copies of these, which he introduced during deposition, that I signed during my tenure inside Hubbard's show. Further, I know of no case where these documents have been deemed enforcable by any Judge, anywhere.

They are just "part of the show", and scientology knows that some ex-members will 'think' they have merit, just like they "thought" that Scientology would bring them super duper spiritual god-like powers, and so be less inclined to reveal whatever part of the underbelly of Scientology that they were exposed to.
