Sorry/ not sorry, guys. I've become one of "those people." (No, not a Scientologist.) One of those Brooklyn-y people who juice. No, I'm not gonna chew your ear off about like alt-cashew butter from the Park Slope Co-op or berate you for not joining a CSA or whatever, but I am gonna take a minute to tell you that I bought a Breville juicer -- the BJE200XL Juice Fountain, specifically -- and it is my chief area of concern. Like Mike Myers' mom says in "So I Married An Axe Murderer," "I juice everything now."

Now please be aware, I enjoy being basically healthy, but I am also innately lazy and feel like, for instance, making a salad sometimes feels like a lot of effort, what with the washing, and the drying, and the slicing and dicing and knowing things and the sighing. After a long, hard day of charting Justin Bieber's relationship at my place of business, it just feels like too much. But I'm not too lazy to wash some spinach, peel a few things and then utterly destroy them. Seriously, I cannot overemphasize how fun it is to destroy things. Plus, the results are delicious. And as a results-oriented type A human being, I'm wholly satisfied by the feeling of consuming an entire bag of kale, another bag of spinach, and a few pieces of fruit all in one glass. I'd be so annoyed, in a very asshole-ish first-world way, having to figure out what to do with all of that produce otherwise.

All of that became this.

I researched juicers -- and by research I mean I spent approximately six minutes reading Amazon reviews -- and the Breville BJE200XL had the best reviews, especially for quality and easy-to-clean-ability, two things I value in anything that needs to be quality and easy to clean. Also, my kitchen is approximately the size of a newborn's thumbnail, and the juicer doesn't take up too much space. Also, anyone who says juicing is expensive is clearly high: I spent $100 on the machine, I buy two huge bags of fruits and veggies for $30 or so (note -- I don't always buy organic, but we're all gonna die some day, so... meh?) and end up with about four quarts of juice. I like Blueprint and Organic Avenue as much as the next Jewish girl who likes yoga and Equipment blouses, but one bottle of those is like $10, and I'm straight stuntin' on endless DIY ounces at home. In the words of Macklemore, I call that getting swindled and pimped. I call that getting tricked by a bizznass.

Go, get a Breville, check out two of my favorite juice recipes -- add alcohol, if you're so inclined -- and enjoy the benevolence of telling people you're now into juicing.

Your Basic Green Juice:
2 stalks of celery 4 romaine leaves -- totally optional
However much kale you want -- it's a free country!
1 - 2 cups of spinach -- again, do what you want!
1 - 3 green apples
1 peeled cucumber
1 peeled lemon
1 small piece of ginger
Maybe an orange if you're feeling particularly dangerous
Directions: Put everything into the juicer, break stuff, enjoy!

Beet Carrot Apple Ginger Orange Juice -- inspired by WithStyleAndGrace's Pretty In Pink juice
3 beets -- wash, peel, cut into fourths
5 - 6 carrots
2 - 4 apples
1 - 2 oranges
1 lemon
Directions: Put everything into the juicer, break stuff, enjoy!

I Can't Stop Thinking About Urban Decay's 40-Eyeliner Vault Set

Y'all. The fact that Urban Decay created a 40-set vault of their phenomenal eyeliners (if there were somehow an appealing mix of butter and velvet, these would be that) exists has me fuhreaking out and obsessing on like a deep, emotional Sarah McLachlan level. Unfortunately for me, the set sold out in NINE HOURS, so I'll have to dry my first-world tears and console myself with my favorite Urban Decay eyeliner shade, Lucky.

Still, I'm having odd visions of myself worshipping this set, gently kissing it reverently like the Torah. It's like the Sistene Chapel of beauty products -- you never really fully grasp its magnificence until you stand in its presence.

What? Don't act like you've never felt all spiritual about eyeliner. What? Don't even act like you're not listening to "Possession" for the fifth time in 30 minutes!

Cherry Bombe Is A Gorgeous New Magazine Celebrating Women And Food, Because Women Actually Eat And Even Enjoy It

I know that to some this may sound strange, but women like to eat (give us the right to vote and birth control and a few seats in the Senate, and we just end up getting totally carried away, amirite?) It may also come as a surprise to some that many women -- most, even! -- like to eat things richer and more exciting than salads or Lean Cuisines or highly processed, ersatz dairy products that reduce us to orgasmic moans, as most yogurt commercials would have you believe. (I know this may be a lot to take in -- if you need a moment to wipe your brow or steel yourself against the back of your chair, please pause to do so.)

And I swear I'm not even making this up: there's a brand-new biannual indie magazine called Cherry Bombe. (This magazine's not the swipey type. It's the old-fashioned parchment kind that used to live and breathe on the racks of all of those book stores that are mainly now either Starbucks, real estate offices, or hollowed-out, carpet-stained ghost boxes.)

Cherry Bombe is the brainchild of editorial and beauty/ fashion PR exec Kerry Diamond (she also owns Brooklyn restaurants Seersucker, Nightingale 9 and Smith Canteen with chef Rob Newton, who happens to be her boyfriend) and graphic designer Claudia Wu, and it celebrates women and food from a smart, stylish perspective and features a roster of (nearly) all-female contributors, chefs, artists, writers, entrepreneurs, photographers and culinary insiders and rebellious outsiders. (There's even an interview with a Harvard microbiologist because women! They're even allowed in labs!) It's an expertly curated food fantasia of guilty pleasures (Good Humor ice cream sandwiches!), aspirational alimentary experiences, recipes, reviews, and supermodels mixing cookie batter (that would be cover girl Karlie Kloss with Milk Bar's Christina Tossi), and it looks lovely on your coffee table, as I can attest.

Cherry Bombe is a 172-page (again, analog, print: weird!) all-girl jaunt around the food world, with stops in the East Village, Paris, Portland, Tennessee, and even a snow-covered seed repository in Norway. Think Love meets Bon Appetit meets National Geographic. Think you need to read Cherry Bombe? I think you're right.

You know Kelly Wearstler, right? The woman who'd be your personal stylist/ life coach/ closet guru/ spirit animal if you could afford to live your best life? The superlatively L.A. designer's dressed Gwen Stefani (THAT PINK LEATHER JACKET, HOMG!), turned out the Viceroy in Palm Springs in her signature post-modern Hollywood Regency-on-a-safari-holiday style (because she runs that game), and she has excellent hair. And she has an excellent collection of Fall/Winter 2013 separates and accessories, all supremely textured -- primal leathers, rough and tough moto jackets, heavy metal jewelry, brass in pocket -- in geometric prints, and Vivienne Westwood, punk-leaning patterns and visceral, mixed-material mash-ups that totally shouldn't make sense together but somehow totally do. Meet my new baby! No, not the kind of baby that comes from mommy and daddy kissing (or alcohol). Those kinds of babies are LOUD. And expensive! So instead, I picked up Gap's new leather stripe tote, which comes in many cute combinations, but I opted for neon coral because the neon says "HELLO WORLD!! I'M HERE!!," while the beige says "Shhhh... I know. We all know. We heard you." At $79, it's way cheaper than a real baby and not made as well as a baby, but it is made really well for a leather bag that costs less than $100. And it has a zipper -- ever seen a BABY that comes with its own zipper? Sure, it's more of short-term investment of a baby, but a bag won't keep you up at night. Viva la beauty sleep!

MAC x Hayley Williams Collection = All Orange Everything

The MAC x Hayley Williams collection drops April 9, 2013.

MAC just announced their Hayley Williams collection, and it's three of my favorite things (MAC makeup, Paramore, and the color ORANGE) all in one, and my birthday's not for five more months.

Case you've never used Tumblr or watched the VMAs (in which case we probably have zero things in common), Hayley Williams is Paramore's lead singer, and she's about the size of an action figure, with a voice that sounds like she swallowed a megaphone, and her signature hair color is approximately the hue of a parking cone someone set on fire.

I love the fact that MAC's targeting a younger audience and celebrating a young female artist (Hayley's probably one of MAC's youngest celebrity spokespeople ever) known for her unapologetic love of color -- and unapologetically loud voice. And while Paramore's by no means unknown -- they've sold over 7 million albums and have criss-crossed the world on tour -- they still may be unfamiliar to some consumers given that the pop-punk band's not a trainwreck tabloid fixture, and beyond "Airplanes" and "The Only Exception," you won't hear them on many U.S. terrestrial radio stations (shouts to K Rock). (If you're still totally unfamiliar and need a reference point, then think Garbage meets Fall Out Boy meets No Doubt meets Mary Lou Lord meets Jimmy Eat World.)

So it's very cool -- and forward-thinking -- to observe the interesting intersection of a younger pop-punk act that generally has their boots planted firmly in the music world change lanes and merge with a beauty brand.

Thirty years after it was somehow okay to commute in your calf-length tweed business skirt and chunky Reeboks, I'll still never tire of the fashion cliche of the 1980s business woman. Look at these bitches, running game on that glass ceiling.

This lady was such a bad-ass bawse that she wore a faux fur dalmatian carpet to work and was NEVER without her Texas Instruments calculator when out solidifying her bawse status in the oil fields. Also, hollar at those coverlines: "Balling out the men on your team" and "Where to incubate your nest egg." WOT?? I'd DEFINITELY be into checking out a scan of that story on microfiche or whatever.

And the businesswoman on the left (who was probably an alcoholic based on the fact that she's drinking at work) wasn't afraid to wear Princess Leia's coverup in the office. Bad girls do it well.

Also, do I even have to point out the irony of a man writing a best-selling guidebook to womenswear? LOL.

Anyway, take a cue from this woman, and raise a glass to these fearless females who wore shoulder pads and suffocated in control-top pantyhose so we could wear jeans to work!

In 1957, Jayne Mansfield and her egregious rack showed up unannounced and, in the words of Alanis Morissette, uninvited to a dinner at Romanoff's in Hollywood in honor of Sophia Loren in a blatant attempt to steal attention away from Sophia. (Great way to say "welcome to America!")

It would not be the last time Jayne pulled such a move -- she'd go on to orchestrate several highly public chest-barings and nipple-related "wardrobe malfunctions," prompting one writer to put her basic shit on blast by expertly summarizing why the public was tired of her fuckery: "We are amused when Miss Mansfield strains to pull in her stomach to fill out her bikini better; but we get angry when career-seeking women, shady ladies, and certain starlets and actresses...use every opportunity to display their anatomy unasked." BURN NOTICE.

Back to the notorious dinner party-crashing: How did Sophia Loren respond? By throwing serious blackout-level side-eye shade directly at Jayne and her twin offenders. Understandable.

It was a classic moment in 20th-century shade-throwing history. And a seminal shade moment of this sort clearly merits its own sweatshirt, such as the Everyman Shade sweatshirt I just bought. Kate Spade Saturday is about to launch -- it's Kate Spade's lower-priced line of cute, quirky clothing, accessories, and housewares, the Marc By Marc Jacobs to Marc Jacobs' regular Marc Jacobs (the brand actually feels like a direct competitor in the mid-ranged accessories and lifestyle items market, or whatever), and I'm suddenly feeling the overwhelming need to adorn my iPhone in a banana-yellow case emblazoned with the immortal (yet evergreen) words of Young MC's Bust A Move.
