There is not a human on the face of this earth that could not use a little "Self Improvement, Discipline or Change." No, not one. We each have a tendency to think we are right most of the time, and about most things. We tend to think we are totally together in most ways and would not need to be engaged in 'Self Improvement.' More than likely, we each have a different flaw, fault, or need to try to improve to make 'our' life better; not someone else. The problem is that most of the time we see other people's faults and not our own.

We should know that not any of us are right all of the time, about all things; if we really think about it. There is always room for change and discipline. Front and center, each of us have habits which need to be adjusted to help make our life more surreal and genuine. Why is it always the other person who needs to change? Why is it that we like to see our world in one form which we can relate to? Who says the world we relate to is the way it should be? If each of us had all things our way; what would this world be like? I don't even want to think about it....and neither do you.

It is usually our perception of things that get us into trouble. We draw conclusions based upon things done or said that we totally have no true enlightenment about. We do not even want to be enlightened; we just simple want it to be our way. We have a tendency to base our conclusions about things on what another person has concluded and what someone else might feel. We somehow forget to be strong advocates for self individualism when we make our own conclusions. The only true analysis of something is to know first handed the entire situation. How do we know facts? Simply because someone told us the facts? Not quite. We assume the person who told us that Saturday should be Sunday, or related to us the story about someones bad behavior; had the facts. So we decide that Saturday should be Sunday because they said so and we aren't strong enough to simply believe things are the way they are for a reason. So, we develop our perceptions from what we have been told and we repeat those, which are not facts, and which could be harmful or hurtful to someone else. Again, perceptions from another person who has not witnessed the event, occurrence or happening or what should happen, because they feel this way.... is not facts and we are turning it into gossip or discord. Who are we to make judgment how life should be for another individual or why should we think; Saturday should be Sunday just to please us? This of course is only our 'opinion,' which when all said and done, amounts to nothing.

Most of us have at some point repeated something that has been said or done without really knowing the facts (we weren't there), but we can't bring ourselves to the self discipline of not repeating the gossip. If we repeat what we haven't seen it becomes gossip. Somebody said this, thus and so. Why is this so hard? This is one prime example of why we all need self improvement, discipline and change of one type or another. Not just in our natural self but in our spiritual self. If we are spiritual, we will see things truly different from the natural man, and it will be within the parameters of what is right. When we connect our natural self with our spiritual; we will guard our human nature more proficiently. This world would be a better place to live in if we could develop a habit of working on our own self discipline, not just to be a self individualist, but to be a better human being.

We are all guilty.....yes, we are!

Another way for us to tell if we need 'self improvement' and 'change' is when we judge another soul by their actions which we feel are in-appropriate. We assume a lot of things about people which has nothing to do with who they really are. We again draw conclusions without the facts. We assume these people need to improve themselves to be more like us. They act weird, they behave differently than we would so they are asking for judgment from others. They should know how they are suppose to relate to life and act normal, like us.????

That said; psychology tells us that we are all unique, separate and special in our own right. How we act can be based upon circumstances beyond our control, or which has developed because of life experiences which may have hurt them. It can also be due to trauma from painful experiences, and needs which have not been met. Why do we allow ourselves to think that our method of behavior is correct? Have we ever stopped to think that George needs attention for a reason? Why does Sue talk so loud? Doesn't she know it is rude; who wants to hear her mouth? Have we stopped to talk to George or Sue long enough to find out why they behave the way they do? Have we looked into their eyes and tried to see their sincerity? Have we tried to find compassion and try to help George feel good about himself and pat him on the back for something well done? Does Sue talk loud for a reason? No, we probably have not! We just sit and judge instead of trying to communicate to learn something that just might be of benefit to us. We might learn something about ourselves in trying to understand another.

Deeper into this subject we know that all of our experiences are not equal, and we should be thankful if our experiences have not dealt us too much sorrow. We all have good, and some bad in our life that leaves us baffled and we sometimes relate to life in a baffled manner. That makes us all human and all need some kind of self discipline and change, at certain times in our life. Suffering cases pain, and pain will cause us to act differently than we normally would. What a person's opinion about us, who is clueless to who we really are; really doesn't matter as long as we know our inner man/woman is striving to be the best possible human and if we are doing that; we will not sit in judgment of another soul.

What matters the most is how we feel about our own actions and if we can see our own need for self improvement, self discipline or change. We should ask ourselves if we are measuring up. Are we living our life in a way that when we are judged, it will not matter because we are doing the best we can to improve our reactions to life, our attitude toward others and our inner man. Others may see us differently than we see ourselves and we can be blinded to our own needs, therefore it is important that we keep a close check on us; not another. We promote ourselves when we promote others.

In conclusion, this article is for me, you and any human who thinks their life is paramount. There is no such thing.....believe that....we each need a little help now and then.

Success

Oh wow; such a little word to entail so much; this word Success. Not a soul on earth that has not dreamed, thought, wished, wanted, begged, coveted, and prayed to have this thing which is called Success. At some point in most individual’s life; they are living with the hope that they can guide themselves to a state of perfect "success." Right? Probably but...is there such a thing as perfect success?

We could ask the question; is there anything that is perfect, before we go further? We use the word out of context usually, and thereby get our emotions in high gear because we miss the mark on what we thought was supposed to be perfect and wasn't. Perfect and Success have very different meanings and values to each of us.; meaning that perfection has a very high value to it and we are setting ourself up for failure if are too inclined to want to be "perfect." It can detain us from even starting something that could be of great benefit to us because we are not comfortable with getting to the results we have set for ourselves. Success can be in small accomplishments as well as large ones, and means many different things to each of us. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder; just like success. More than likely a value that most of us should never require ourselves to think about; let alone accomplish. It would seem that we can go as far to say that there is probably no "perfect success." Only in our mind, not actually lived.

We see other people whom we feel have perfect success; but to them it may be lacking some quality. If we think that everything we do must be perfect; we are going to make more blunders and wind up with less accomplishments then we would if we just wanted to do or be the best that we can. Simply put; we can accomplishment much in our life that is called success, if we base each step of the way toward just doing our best. Please take note; "our best," not someone else's best. This in itself is a great goal; doing our best and putting forth our best efforts. If we have our mind set on living a perfect life in any form; somewhere within our life path we will realize that we have put our expectations far too high to reach and have made a big mistake. There is nothing that is actually perfect in life and success is no different.

Luckily, no two individuals think alike or interpret life situations, accomplishments, dreams and outcomes the same. Each person has a different value, and actually we should say; thank goodness. What you feel might be perfect for you; someone else may deem as only mediocre, and vise versa. Another thought that is absolutely wrong; is if we think we will feel more happiness once we reach this perfect success we are seeking. Happiness is not something that comes with high achievements. Happiness is something we dare to feel regardless of where we are in our life plan, what we are doing and where we are going. Happiness is about being, not getting. It is about believing that we are where we are supposed to be at this very moment.

Any plan for success must start out with goals to be reached one positive step at a time with a determined mind set and faith in oneself. Sometimes, one must start over more than once; recess always helps if we get bogged down. It never hurts to re-evaluate and it is always good to remember that even sunshine burns if we get too much. On occasions, goals and plans must be changed. Every now and then, it takes some push and pull. Not much in life is easy and nothing is free of charge. In fact, very few things that are worth having, come with little effort.

"The unique part of this is not to expect too much from yourself or too little. Expect nothing from others and make sure what you want is worth what you think it is." You just might find that success is closer than you think.

A New Year

It is a brand New Year to pick up where to left off before the holidays or either start a new and time to let go of the yesterdays and move on. There is no time to think about the bad stuff that occurred, nor fret because it doesn't help much thinking about it and it will not cure the cause. It will only distort the mind.

A lot of people like to make New Years resolutions; I am not one of those because I am simply trying to be better today than I was yesterday; everyday. If you take it one day at a time, it seems more doable. If you must, and need to; make your list of goals or whatever it is to help you remain focused. The point is; just do it and start with the simple things to make your life more livable first. When we try to do things which seem hard to begin with, they can slow us down...we get into trouble and that is when we stop doing anythings. That's bad....take baby steps to making your life better and then widen your steps as you progress.

Failure is not starting; failure is starting and then stopping and then not getting up and starting again. Sometimes we fall, sometimes we get slowed down and afraid, but those who reach their full potential do not listed to self pity. No one is listening to self pity but you. Just don't do it; you have to have the grit within you to keep up what it is you are trying to accomplish. Here is a list of things that you should not let slow you down on you journey to success:

Stop thinking in terms of lacking something you need to proceed. If you are lacking something you think you need to Succeed; be patient and it will come if you put your thoughts to; "I am lacking nothing I need to become the Success I want to be; it will come if I proceed on my journey."

Don't plan your life around what you think someone thinks is good for you. No one knows what is best for you, but you.

If your friends are not in support of what you are trying to accomplish; it doesn't matter. You are responsible for your life....they are responsible for their life and if you let what someone thinks stop you; you are not really ready to make the journey anyway. You need to look at your life in terms of what is best for the end results you want; regardless of what someone else may think. With that said, it is wise to make sure you are making wise choices. Is what you want to do reasonable, is it something you love, and is it something that is real or is it a fantasy?

If you are unsure of your how to proceed with your endeavors for this new year; step back and make sure you are on the right path, do not let yourself become overwhelmed. There is nothing wrong with analyzing your cause, your motives, your goals, and how beneficial it will be to you to keep proceeding on the course you are on.

Give yourself a break every now and then and revamp. Revive yourself with taking time to rest the mind. Meditate or pray, whichever is for you. Worry is not something that goes with making wise decisions. One's mind must be clear, rested and focused to make good decisions.

Believe in yourself and know who you are. We are all unique, we have different needs, yet we are similar. We have the same basic needs but usually our emotional needs and life balances are very different. If you seem to be too different in what your needs are; again, step back and contemplate why they seem to be...but and if they are normal things, don't let that stop you. Those who persevere will climb the highest mountain.

If you are lacking training, education or any further study...do it, make it happen. One is never too young or too old.

Do not rush life. It will pass too soon by itself. You will be 60 years old....if you aren't already before you are ready. Make the best of today and then when you are that age, you can look back and say that you did the best you could.

Think before start making choices. Think before you speak words that bring negative results. Think before you leap and most of all think before giving up; just do not do it.

Never trample on another soul, keep in mind that we are all human and make mistakes everyday. When we are good to other; those things come back to us. Be kind and know that all thing come to those who work and wait for the right time.

Take a deep breath and begin!

Success Doesn't Come in a Bottle

Someone mentioned that they wished that Success Tools came in a bottle.

To our disappointment; Success, Doesn't Come in a Bottle anymore than failure does. We create our Success and we create our failure. Our thoughts carry us one way or the other. Success usually comes in bits and pieces, one accomplishment at a time. Does it come without efforts? It is doubtful anyone, who works on their journey to Success would tell you that it does. The next question might be something like; what is the easiest way to achieve this Success that Doesn't Come in a Bottle and since it Doesn't come in a Bottle; Success, that is, how do we make our dreams come true? Where exactly do we start?

It is evident that the desire is already existent; therefore the first requirement is met...good for us, right? It takes more than just a desire though, as a desire without works is literally dead. If we say we want some ice cream for a snack and there is none in the house; we will not get it without putting ourselves into action to go to the grocery to obtain it. Success is no different. If it were laid in our lap; we would not appreciate it as much, simply because most of the time, we are more thankful for what we have worked for and it gives us the incentive to work harder to go farther.

With that said; the next part of achieving anything important is an ability to look at your life at its current stage and determine which steps should be taken next. Why? It is imperative that we take baby steps first and then get into the big gait. If you can't make the baby steps; why would you think you could play with the big boys, right off the bat, if you aren't prepared?

This can be called goals setting. Usually, one step at a time, as we know that Success isn't in a Bottle and it cannot be obtained all at once. Not all individuals are alike and not all people have made goals, or plans. Actually, when you put it in writing it will give you a focus and a boundary line for obtaining a good foundation. One must realize that the first steps of any short term or long term goal, are the most important steps, as they prepare you for the the obstacles that one may face. You can't take away the obstacles as these are pertinent for growth and learning what works best. The farther one travels the easier it gets and the better the results when we start at the bottom and work up. Can't do it backwards, we have to learn from bottom up. If we do not, then someone who has started at the bottom is going to surpass us quickly. Not that this is all bad, we are not going to know more than everybody else, even if we learn from the bottom up. That is not life and if our goals is to know more than everybody else; our goals are wrong.

Motive and motivation is important when thinking about Success. What is your motive for getting a better life? Just how motivated are you to see it through? If you are all talk and no action; your results will not come. You must be motivated to not only start but to finish or at least keep on the journey.

Is you motive for your actions, to become better than others? Is it so that you can buy more things? It is so that you can be the king of the family because you are Successful? Is it because you have a need to outshine everyone else? Do you love being in the spotlight? Exactly what is your motive? Of course everyone has a different motive on the road to Success. From this perspective; not any of the above questions above should be the focus.

Being Successful does not make you better, more knowledgeable, richer, more famous than all the rest. Being Successful lies within who you are; how you have become, or are becoming Successful and how you manage your Success. Very important....Attitude is dependent upon true Success and No it Doesn't Come in a Bottle.

Success is about you. It is about what will make your life better in terms of being a better individual, being more productive in your career, being a better parent, if the latter applies; being a better spouse and providing what is needed to improve you and your families well being. It does not entail riches or having more than everyone else and it certainly does not include fame. The focus must be on your life; what within your life needs to improve or grow to a better level; not someone else. What someone else has gained in their life with Success, does not indicate your Success will be the same, and most likely, it will not be.

You can take a look at your life and say that I am missing something but I don't know what it is. It pays one to realize; that what you have accomplished already, may be worth a lot more than you think. This is where the goal setting and questions come into the equation. If you are not productive where you are; that is a number two goal.

Your list of contemplation, could look something like this:

 1) desire and vision
 2) focus on where you are, and where you want to go
 3) are you committed or do you need to change some thoughts
 4) why do you feel unsuccessful now; or what is the purpose of being more successful
 5) what are your goals
 6) do want to be more successful for all the right reasons
 7) do you have your priorities in place; meaning family first
 8) do you realize that money does not necessarily mean that you are successful
 9) where do you want to be in 3 months, 6 months, 12 months etc.
are you happy within or are you trying to make yourself happy

Trying to make ones self happy by becoming more Successful, is probably not going to happen. One must be a peaceful within to truly know what Success is about, how to go about getting it and then living the Success as it comes; correctly. Success Doesn't Come in a Bottle like coke a cola; but with a plan and sincere efforts that are constructive; one can reap results one step at a time.

Success Tools

There is a right way and a wrong way to obtain success!

What are Success Tools? Pretty simple as they are the ground work which you implement from taking a look at who you are and what you are trying to accomplish. Nothing hard, but a must have to build TRUE Success; one day at a time; these are what we call Success Tools:

Success is not about having or possessing; it is about learning and giving.....

Integrity

Self discipline

Courage

Sustainability

Determination

Character

Reliability

Positive thoughts

Positive Actions

Positive Responses

Human instincts

Compassion

Emotional Intelligence

The ability to work hard

The ability to see other people's needs

The ability to see the flaws within

The ability to create team relationships

The ability to seek other people's help

Knowledge that you can get a job done better with someone else helping you than you could do alone

Never giving up

Keeping the ability to know that doing what is right, always ends with better results

Never under-estimate anyone, including yourself

Never expect more out of someone else than you do yourself

Looking for solutions, rather than getting upset over something gone wrong

Finding solutions, implementing them and being able to give someone else the credit

Having the right attitude is more important sometimes than results

Being able to lighten up

Being able to laugh at yourself

Having qualities that shine

The ability to step back and evaluate

Knowing where you will not tread for success

Keeping you eyes on the end results, rather than the immediate moment

Knowing that quality is more important than being the first to finish

Knowing that patience works miracles

Knowing that you are only one person who wants to be successful and that you cannot get anywhere by putting yourself before others

Knowing that no one reaches success in one day; it is a life time journey and in the end how you have performed is more important that what you have obtained

Everywhere we read it states that Success is a journey and that it is very different for all; and it is a just statement. If we were to give you all of what Success amounts to; this blog would not be long enough. It is not what we make in money, power or fame. It entails something far more important; it entails who we are. If we kick someone else out of the game to get what we want or think we must have; we aren't going to enjoy the end results. The old saying what goes around, comes around. If we fail to give credit to those who have helped us; then we are not living in reality, because not a human can get anywhere without the help of someone, somewhere along the way.
You can think about the future; seeing yourself in a mansion, filled with expensive "things" but if you did not obtain these things with hard work, integrity and the ability to know that "things" do not make us; your work is in vain. Peace and happiness does not come from things; it is how you obtain the "things." If this were not true; then why do we see so many performers in jail or about to go? Some have had it laid in their lap without any efforts; others have worked for what they get and those who haven't appear to be very lonely. They seem to have too many "things" because they can't stay out of trouble or away from the bottle and drugs. They are still seeking something which can only be satisfied from within and they do not have a clue how to get that satisfaction.

Success Tools are those things we build for ourselves in our efforts to do things the right way. No one has all the knowledge they need or the right way to do things but we strive to know how things should be done to complete the process in a way that is not harmful to another soul. If we are seeking the right Success Tools then we are seeking the right path of growth and in the end our efforts will be more accomplished because we did not step on any one's toes. We played it fair and square and we still press forward with each new day.

Getting Success to Financial Freedom

A penny saved is a penny earned

How might we say that Getting Success of Financial Freedom is done? Quite simply; it takes work, planning and saving instead of spending, borrowing and living high on the hog. No it isn't that simple, when everyday odd things pop up that are needed to sustain our life but, the first step is setting our goals and sticking with them.

Most of us have been through our time of spending and wishing we had not. Most of us wish we had more financial stability and/or freedom. Truth is most of us could absolutely do better at Getting Success of Financial Freedom than we do. Here are a few ways to get started at Financial Freedom.

start being conservative/frugal

stop impulsive spending

do not spend when you need to pay a bill

think about what you are spending

do not try to live like the next door neighbor

make sure you have sufficient funds for an emergency

do not borrow to get out of debt; you can't

pay any credit cards balanced off monthly

do not charge unless absolutely necessary

pay cash

learn the basics of saving

pay yourself something

stop buying things you do not need but think you want

remember that it is better to have money in the bank than to buy everything you can get your hands on

open up a saving account if you do not have one

contribute to 401K at work; this is the best way to make money on your saving as the company will share in your savings

remind yourself to not spend too much at the grocery store

remind yourself that you can save by cooking at home more often

set a mind goal for each month, three months, six months

take baby steps and do not expect miracles if you have not saved before

help another soul occasionally and be thankful

These are only a few compared to the many ways to jump start Getting Success of Financial Freedom. It is never too late to start saving and even minimal saving will grow more than you think.

It is important to realize that we are not all financial experts and that sometimes we should get advice from someone who knows more than we do about larger investing. Never invest with anyone, when you begin Getting Success of Financial Freedom; you have not checked out. It happens all the time that someone can put a lot of money with someone that makes it all sound too good to pass up but, remember to check with the Better Business Bureau. Look them up on the web; read the good and the bad....know that they are known and try to find someone who has saved with them and what their results were. Never assume!

Success to Financial Freedom does and will not happen to anyone over night. But, if you are conscious and willing to give up some things; you will see results before you know it. There are very young people who are very capable of taking every advantage of every promotion or incentive to earn. Those promotions which are legit can help you save even more than you are.

It is not all that uncommon for a less than 40 year old to have thousand saved; if they have a conscious mind to doing so. This author has seen it happen and knows that it is possible because when there is mind set to do anything; young or old; one can make it happen. Some people start out from childhood; they save their toys, they save the five and ten dollars that they are given on their birthday and when they become a teen; they have funds available to buy some things they want. Or, they keep saving and when they go to college; they are not broke as some who are not as fortunate or didn't save.

There is not a way to write down all of the many ways that one can approach Getting Success to Financial Freedom but, being aware of ones need to save is the first and most important mind set. Starting early in life is another important part. So many people believe that buying a house is one way to have a tax advantage; it is to some extent but it is mainly for those who do not plan to stay in that house for a loan time. For those people who buy a house or let's just say the last house they intend on buying; really need to have that house paid off before retirement. Why, it is quite simple; you will not be making any new money other than what you are making on your savings and if you aren't making interest more will be going out than is coming in.

The best place to start is where you are. The best time to start is now and not wait another minute. If you begin to save now; before you know it; it will be a habit, a good habit and then before it you will be setting yourself up for Getting Success to Financial Freedom....not overnight..it take a long time to save sufficient to actually be financially free.

Success-Attitude Is Everything

Attitude is everything...you have heard this statement many times I am sure. Why is Attitude Everything? To make a long story short...you don't have to be a genius to have Success. You can have Success if you have an unfortunate past, a slow beginning, and even when you are poor or have a disability. One's Attitude is Everything and that is the bottom line. Any person who has the right Attitude can have as much Success as the most talented or most educated individual. Why? Attitude!

There are major corporations who are now hiring individuals who are highly "emotionally intelligent" over the most techincally qualified. Why? Attitude is Everything! Repeat after me....Attitude is everything. A person who has the ability to look beyond the outside of a person or what they might project....is a person who knows how to reflect upon other people's needs and know themself well. They know how to react to people. They do not rush to judgement on others and look honestly at any given situation and do not try to make themselves look better than everyone else. They do not seek all of the attention....they give others a chance to shine. These people know how to deal with a stress situation and know that all things can usually be fixed with the right frame of mind and that getting angry, upset and out of sorts does nothing to resolve an issue. A person who has a determined mindset, can see the bright side of all things and has sensibility to go with it; and it is evident that these types of individuals who have the right "Attitude" go further than those who believe their smarts are the best part of their life. Please note that there is nothing wrong with being highly educated but, being educated does not necessarily give one a ticket to Success. Education must be mixed with interpersonal skills.

Attitude: mental outlook, demeanor, disposition, inclination, mindset, perspective, philosophy, mood, approach, belief, sensibility and much, much more.

Our mental outlook on life makes up our life. Simple as that. If we see things as being beautiful; life will bring us beautiful things. Does that mean that we have nothing that is less than beautiful to enter our life? No...it just means that we view the good things in our life as beautiful and know that the issues which are downright awful that come our way; could ALWAYS be worse than they are. You might ask the question.. how is it possible to see the good, when we have lost something that is precious to us? No one has ever said that life is easy or that we do not have to bare bad things. Those things that actually zap our strength and almost take our life away are sometimes not understandable. But, when we sit in silence and look around us, let go of the anger and remember that "no one is without struggle." Everything that occurs in our life is for a reason and our attitude toward the bad, influences the good things. For instance; "as a man thinketh, so is he." If one dwells on the bad; the good cannot shine through. We must want to, strive to and know that life must go on and to live it successfully; we must let go of the "poor me" Attitude.

Our disposition toward life means that we confront life things with the right personal temperament. "This too will pass," attitude. The tone of how we handle things are essential to daily living. When the bad stuff happens; if we can seek a way to find the best attitude toward the situation, it can make things seem less disasterous. If we can laugh at ourselves, when we need to; we can live through anything. Laughter is medicine to the soul.

Our perspective in any given situation is just that; our perspective or our view/take/outlook on an issue. One cannot live by their perceptions only; they must realize that all people have different perspectives. Sometimes it is easy to jump to conclusions regarding conversations, occurrences etc...we think the worst when actually something totally different was actually what was intended. This is when we should step back, review our Attitude/Perspective....and if we just might be thinking about it all wrong. Sometimes it calls for addressing the issue to be certain that what we have determined to be accurate; is not. Nine times out of then; it is not.

In our quest for the right attitude.....we must remember that our philosophy is not the only one either. What our principles and knowledge is; is not the beginning or the end of all things. Meaning, other people's principles and knowledge counts also and that all of us can learn something to make our life better from each other. Yes, we can learn from the drunk on the street, if we so choose. When we look down on the little old man lying in the street dog drunk; what put him there? How could you possibly be there and do you have the courage to try to help the him or a person like him? Remember; Attitude is everything. Trying to help another soul is part of the "Attitude Is Everything." None of us want to be there; how do we know how far we are from this awful thing or something like it? Being thankful is part of the right attitude also and being humble and know that we are all "sinners, saved by grace" so to speak. By the skin of our teeth we just might have missed some bad things in life.

Quote to make you think!!!

Attitude is Everything....

"Life is a shipwreck but we must not forget to sing in the lifeboat. --Voltaire

"I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet." --Ancient Persian

"If you don't think every day is a good day, just try missing one." - Calvett Robert

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."
- Winston Churchhill

The Best for Last and so true...

Never and I mean never will anyone amount to anything worth while by being arrogant and self centered, when reaching for Success. Any Success worth having means that you have reached the status of knowing that you are blessed and possibly more fortunate than others might be on your journey to Success; but one person is never better than another.

Quite frequently we see a person on the rise who becomes somewhat fascinated with themselves because they have achieved certain things on their own and without any help. There is nothing wrong with self confidence unless it brings a person to a state of "I can do all things, get out of my way." This behavior merely means that they have allowed themselves to believe they are special and do not need the help of others. Usually you can find these individuals at some point if they are smart, realizing that no one can conquer all things if given the task; without help from others in some ways. The most intelligent people I know realize they can perform much better when delegating or asking for another persons knowledge on issues for which they are lacking in rather than spending needless time trying to learn what someone else already knows. Arrogance is not a part of the agenda for building an empire of Success. Being Successful and Humble means you have adapted the idea that other people are important to your own success story.

Anyone who has grown personally knows that being humble doesn't make you weak, and in fact it makes you appear strong than anyone who might think they have the world by the tail with a downhill run. Being humble does not mean that we are coward down by others and have no self confidence but it does mean that we are sensitive to other people needs and knowledge. We know that all people deserve good things and Success is not meant just for the privileged or rich.

We know that humility is important because it means we are grounded and established in our thinking. If we possess humility, we have learned that pride is self destructive and even though we want to blow our own horn sometimes; it is not always the best policy. We are not going to make it through life without some failure, somewhere in life. Everything may be just fine today, we may have gotten the big raise, finished the project or made new friends, but life can change in the blink of an eye and we then realize that our self-importance has changed.

Again, there is nothing wrong with being aware we have done something well. It gives us the courage and strength to keep on traveling our road to betterment. Knowing that we have accomplished something important gives us power that we might be lacking when we have been criticized by others, but also humility endeavors us to be meek enough to realize that we just might have been a little lucky here and there.

It is always good to know that what we have learned along the way is not all there is to learn. Someone, somewhere probably knows more than we do....whether it be from their own experiences or their knowledge. We must not let our hearts be full of too much pride or confidence, we must remember that there is always more to life than just this moment, more to Success than just accomplishing one task and that the journey must go on. For as the writer has said; Success is a journey, not a destination. Reaching for Success and Staying Humble will bring more beauty to your rewards.

Most of what we do in life; is about us. There is never a time that we can depend upon someone else to make us happy, make us rich, make us normal, make us unstable or make us Successful. All of these things are what we do for ourselves. If we are happy, it is up to us. If we want to be rich or at least have more...it is up to us. If we are unstable; it is something we have done; not what someone else has done, and if we are Successful; it is about us.

Taking responsibility for ourselves is probably the most important part of Success in Life. I have known someone for awhile. They are almost middle age but have never taken responsibility for themselves. This person does not see the necessity to make their own way and bring power to himself by doing so. He depends upon someone else who has made it easy for him. Yet, he wants his freedom to do as he pleases because he is grown.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either you take full responsibility for yourself or you answer to someone for something. The same it is with our endeavors for being a Success. If a person is not happy with their life, their work, their relationship or whatever it might be; it is up to that person to take responsibility and change whatever the problem is. There is no room for the blame game in life. Blaming someone else is like blaming your dog for urinating on the floor, when you forgot to let him out. Even if you do blame Fido; what does it change....the dog still messed up the floor.

There are times that we can't seem to find answers we need to fix our problems, and we all have these times. When you can't do anything about something; you wait until the moment when you can. You can't become idle though because it slows growth. During these times when we can't seem to find answers or the down times, it is possible this is the time we should take note of how we are living; if we haven't already. It may be the time to work on our spiritual self because maybe we have forgotton that we do have one. When we are intune to our soul we can accomplish more; why, because our soul never tells us wrong. The mind and the heart can sometimes lead us astray, but our soul is where our true self lies and the soul is where truth lies.

It is our responsibility to take care of ourselves and our needs. We are actually the only one who knows what is best for us. Depending upon or blaming another, means that we are in dire need of personal growth, life coaching or just a plain old look at ourselves. Stop blaming and counting on someone else...start your own path to Success Now; otherwise you may never get anywhere.

Success - At All Cost

In my book, this does not exist and let me explain why Success- At All Cost would not be gratifying. First and foremost we all should have a clear understanding of where our desire for Success belongs. I know that most of us do. It may be something life this...First we should have a commitment to our faith (meaning our belief in a power that leads us and guides us if we allow it), what ever that is and our family. They ride this boat together. Why, because I believe that we can be guided by our faith in whatever we believe in. I believe in God. You may not, but I think that we all need to believe in something that gives us strength to live our life in control and power.

Success- At All Cost is not worth having and here is why. If I leave my spouse because he is not successful in my eyes, I probably have my priorities wrong. It means I probably did not love him to begin with. Otherwise, I would try to motivate him in his endeavors and see what the problems are, instead of placing blame on an issue and seek couseling to see exactly what the true issues are. If I neglect my child because I am too busy to deal with him, I definitely have made havoc of my priorities. If I try to degrade someone else to make myself look better, I am only hurting myself because the old saying is very true; what goes around, comes around....sooner or later....not maybe. If I lower my standards to be like the crowd, I am not stable and somewhere I will fall. If I try to be someone other than myself; then I do not have a clear picture of who I am and I do not realize; it is important to be unique. If I seek approval from others more than myself, then I do not know that my heart will tell me when something is right. If I don't have self appreciation or self approval, I know what I am doing is wrong. If you know you are cheating on something; everyone else will know also and it will not produce the end results needed to be Successful. There is no room in life for cheating to get to the top...do it the right way; for there is no short cuts.

Never and I say never, does a person build true Success or worth by leaving out the most important things in their life. A person cannot grow into an invaluable position in work or play by hurting anyone else and this includes your family. There is nothing more important than family. If it is; something in you life is not right. Your perceptions of life are not what they should be and you are headed down the wrong path. You will at some point hit a snag that will litterly throw you for a loop and low and behold; who will you call upon? The family you have not given the attention they needed. If you are single..I can see that you only have yourself to worry about (for the most part) but you should still being good to those who have invested time and encouragement to you at points in your life...and taught you right from wrong...they deserve your respect and honor. Always....

When a person is overly concerned about ourselves and their Success and are willing to do anything to make it happen.... they are disillusioned. They are broken somewhere and they are headed for a fall of some nature. Being Successful---should never impair our vision of our personal life and/or family life. To gain respect and recognition in our life...nine times out of ten..it will only be for those who show the ability to manage and maintain their personal life equal to their professional life.

In our life we must know "how to find our own Success".

Success- Some Days Less Important

Sometimes we don't want anything...even Success...but that is just "some days." In fact some days we do not care if the sun does not shine and if the rains fall...we just simply want to be left alone. Right? Probably!

When we have these days, I think it is pretty normal other than if we are to get where we want to go on our road to Success; we have to make those days very few. Even though we all have our days; if we get in a rut of having these kinds of days too often, we might mess up our plan of reaching certain goals. I believe that if we dwell too long in this state of mind, it might inhibit our mental focus for great things.

A positive attitude is of great importance in our daily life. I know this very well because I have these days also. I usually get around them very quickly or at least in time to salvage my strong ability to press forward and keep believing in whatever it is that I am doing. Sometimes we have to motivate ourselves and sometimes this is not an easy task, but to accomplish what we need to accomplish, we must keep at it and not get stuck too deeply in the days that we have no motivation.

It is of importance that we have self control over our thought, not only our actions. When we get to the point of no motivation and those days of not even thinking about our goals for Success; we need to get a grip and move on. Easier said than done...yes...sometimes it is, but we cannot let our view of growing be blocked with thoughts that are negative and empty.

We all have our disappointments, live struggles, life issues and sometimes it is hard to get past these kinds of things. Losing someone we love, not getting the promotion we think we deserve and any kind of blow to the heart is not of course, all about the days we are just wanting to be left alone. These are times that we deserve a break but it is imperative that we not let things in which we have no control over; keep or lead us down the road that we consider leaving our goals behind.

Having a bad day every now and then is okay, but the plan is not to let anything stand in your way of following the path and journey to accomplishment and Success....even on those days.

There is no certain age for Success and sometimes we have opposition; but it is for all!!!

Success-Doing Something Well

Success is not how fast you perform; Success is how well you do the job!

Some of the years I have been in mortgage, I traveled throughout the States to different Banks and Institutions with a group to audit their mortgage portfolio to review the loans for all the guidelines and regulations to see which ones fit into a pool for sale to the big guys; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This is a project which is fit into a timeframe. Our Success depending upon how many loans, what type of loans and how well they had been put together and getting them done in the timeframe we had given the client. Some of these loans were portfolio loans and they would not fit, those were coded differently. There were codes to use, a bunch of them and you had to review the most important issues of putting a loan together. Sometimes this meant re-underwriting the loan as if it were just being originated. Most of the time, we were there anywhere from two to three weeks, sometimes longer. Some of these activities were before the mortgage meltdown years. Since the meltdown, the timeframe is shorter usually, but of course depends. Sometimes it was over a thousand loans...this varied also.

When you are working in group, it is very easy to get sidetracked with trying to compete with the others as you want to perform at least somewhere in the middle, not bring up the tail end. That is only human nature but when we got back to homebase there was always the review of the work that had been done. The numbers of course is what you want to get...you know, so many loans a day. Getting the portfolio done with the timeframe or sooner was evidence of SUCCESS. Some loan files are simple, easy to go through and some are a total mess, you could say. Nothing in order, some information not fully explained in the file and it is hard to tell why they did what they did with the loan. So the number, depended a lot of time on the order of the files, if they were clean files, not so clean files or just plain old unorderly files with a bunch of un-necessary papers. (There is a lot of paperwork involved in a mortgage loan). Therefore some days you could not review many files because you have to wade through each paper, each section to make sure you are getting all of the information you are required to get and you have to make sure you pick up on anything out of the ordinary. The note and mortgage are reviewed and if there are errors you must pick up on these and code. So much to look at and so much to know and remember; with a limited timeframe to get it done. You could not be slow and lazy for sure but you had to remember that when you get back to the office someone is going to be trying to read cold handwritten comments, the codes and you do not have the file in front of your, then it could be embarrasing because you can't go back to client and say; "we missed something, could you send us the file?" I am sure if it was bad enough, that the latter has happened because you can't guess at what is going on when you are working up loans to go into a pool of loans to sell to the Investor.

In giving you an example of the above, I will not give you anymore details in Due Diligence of a mortgage portfolio but my point is this about any kind of Success in our life. It doesn't matter how many loans Jake is looking at, or how fast he can review one file. It doesn't matter if the group as a whole is outdoing me...what matter is how well I reviewed my files. One large mistake could mess up the pool and then the loan has to be bought back and then the client is not going to like it because someone did not do a good job. It was not something you could not take chances on.

Our Success in life should be thought of the same way, I am sure and here is why. No one has to answer for me and I do not have to answer for anyone else. It doesn't matter how fast we perform, it is how well we have completed our task. To be Successful at anything we have to be sure we are performing with the highest of quality and take to heart what we are trying to accomplish. It does not matter if someone can do it quicker than I can, it means that I am trying to do the job well and accurately. A job well done, speaks for itself. If I have completed the task with fewer errors than someone else, but have reviewed less files...it does not mean I have failed. It means after it is all said and done that my work is acceptable because I have gather the information and not missed anything that was pertinent.

When thinking along these line we know that it takes balance in whatever we are trying to accomplish. We know that everybody makes mistakes and especially in these kinds of situations when working against time. It is also important to recognize when they need to work on speed as well as quality and this can sometimes be a very hard task.

One of the best ways to accomplish quality and quanity in performance and fulfill the Success- of doing something well, it to know your stuff...meaning..know what is expected of you. Know how to perform, study before you get to the job, train yourself and know that effeciency is important. Having Success-by Doing Something Well...is far more important than being full of speed and "errors."

Success- Do you Like Yourself?

Learning to like "you"....

Of all the subjects I have written on lately, I have learned that most humans who are conscious of anything at all, are serious about ways to improve their life one way or the other. So, this leads me to the question: If you cannot like yourself, how in the world is anyone else going to like you?

I think my next question would be; if you do not like yourself, how are you going to progress on the road of Success?

The very first step at Success in my determination is in accepting yourself. If you cannot accept yourself, then you need to improve. If you are unhappy with who you are, that is the most important step in the process. Anything worth having in life is worth a little work and sometimes learning to like ourselves take a little work. I do not believe that any person is beyond improving. I do not believe that we are destined to be someone that no one likes. If that is true, we are doing something in the wrong way. Think on these questions and see what the answers are.

Think on the following....

do you do things you are suppose to do

are you a faithful person

do you believe in doing what is right

do you lend a helping hand to other

do you believe that everyone should fend for themselves

are you friendly

are you self confident

are you lacking in confidence

are you afraid of criticism

do you want to be a better person

are you selfish

do you need approval from others

do you think you are you lazy

do you think you do it all okay

do you think about other people's feelings

what is most important to you

what truly do you want out of life

do you have your priorities in order

are you happy

do you even know what happiness is

is money more important to you than anything else

do you let others run over you

what is so bad about you

if you could tell someone off, who would it be and why

if you did the latter, what would you gain

do you need to be more humble

do you feel blessed

do you feel less than others

do you work hard at being liked by others

do you have joy in your life

do you laugh a lot or hardly ever

when is the last time you felt good about yourself

The questions could go on and on and I can't know what your answer are but I will elaborate on few of these...

Grudges against someone will only keep you from enjoying your life and it does not hurt the other person, so let the grudges go.

Being selfish is egotistical way to loose your friends

Trying to get the approval of others is not necessary if you are doing what is right, with all of your might. It is a waste of time and energy, your time and your energy that you could be using to improve your skills and do even better than you are...

If you are considerate of other peoples feeling, you are one step ahead of so many people who do not care how they treat others. Being aware of other people's feeling is a gift of respect that is most honorable...the little dirty man at the grocery store can't keep his grocery cart straight. Understanding his perdicament and being kind means you have the ability to accept people less fortunate than you.

What is the most important thing in this world to you? Is it your family, your career, being Successful, having things, being noticed, not being noticed? Things do not set you up to be Successful. Success is not measured by things. Success is measured as how you live your life according to the principles of integrity, justice, and doing what is right. It is meansured in the terms of how you present and interact yourself with others, how you fill your life with the right priorities. Success is knowing what is important in life, not about being better or having more than anyone else. You are probably more Successful than you think!

Knowing you are blessed is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. It does not matter what you don't have...it matters what you do have and I know that most of us have enough to eat, enough to wear and prbably more...what do you need you do not have?

Self esteem is something we all must have for ourselves if we are to be successful. It does not mean that you are being self righteous...it means that you are in tune to who you are and have become the person you want to be and are working to become even better.

Learning to laugh is one of the best medicines that I know of. You need to take the time to enjoy the things that bring laughter. Laughter will help the stress in your life and help you forget about your worries.

I do not believe there is just one blueprint for Success. If it were, we would all be alike in everyway and that is not the case. So...we reach for Success in the way that is right for each of us, knowing that what might be right for you, might not be for me and vice versa.

I hope that you have received something of benefit in this article of Success-Do you Like Youself? If you did not and do not see the need for change; then chances are....you probably need to be a little more humble....

Quotes

Nobody will think you're somebody if you don't think so yourself. --African-American proverb

Happiness is : Looking in a morror and like what you see.-- Author Unknown

When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you. ----Kai-Tzu

Success can fit into any part of our life and it is up to us to realize that; Success- is Your Purpose. In learning about Success and lifem myself; I learned early on that other people can hinder you if you let them. They do not mean to but what Success is for one person, even though it may be someone who loves you; may not be Success for you.

There is no way for you to reach your potential if "you" do not make an effort to forget about what anyone else has to say and make sure you are doing what is right for you. Success Is Your Purpose and Choice. Sometimes we let circumstances in our life and the people we love and want to take care of, influence our efforts to take care of what we need for ourselves. I am an avid believer that our priorities should be in order, meaning our families needs should be first but secondly an individual cannot live without some purpose of their own.

Purpose is about your hopes and dreams. It is about ambition, aspiration and destination. It does not mean that you leave anyone else behind to do what you feel is right for you, but it means you seek your own direction. Dreams are a part of life, even the bad ones, they teach us things we would not know other wise. Purpose is about the expectations you have for yourself, not anyone else and no one else has to do what you do; it is totally about "you."

Sometimes others think they know what is best for us and we do not want to always close our minds to sound advice but we have to be aware of the still small voice within us who is trying to teach us to listen.

"If Everybody Was Satisfied With Himself, There Would Be No Heroes." ---Mark Twain

"The secret of success if constancy to purpose." ---Benjami Disraeli

"Life is a succession of moments. To live each one is to succees." ---Corita Kent

"My will shall shape the future. whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny." ---Elaine Maxwell

When it is all said and done; as in the latter quote, we cannot play the blame game if we do not follow our own direction. Success being about many things; it can simply be that we are not contriubing sufficient money into our 401k account and then when we reach retirement age we cannot live comfortably because we did not make the wise decision to do so. It can be that we did not reach out for the promotion that could have increased our income because of fear. It doesn't have to be this big long drawn out plan of Success....success is something we see everyday if we stop long enough to see it.

Purpose is also persistence and resolve and it is also confidence. Not everyone that we meet thinks about Success or what it is everyday and it is not something we should take to the extreme. As with anything else in life our Success depends upon our modest approach to it. If we obsess then we are going about it all wrong to begin with. If we are obsessed with Success we are less likely to achieve the results of our expectations because our expectations are probably all wrong anyway. When a person becomes obsessed with something usually they expect too much of themselves and then you have a bloomer. Purpose is not about expecting too much of ourselves as we have responsibilities besides working on our own Success.

Purpose is about having an aim or a goal and working toward the target. Again, it does not have to be anything more than wanting to have a savings account of 50 g. You may be happy with everything but your saving account and if that is your purpose, then so be it.

Sometimes we think about what it would be like to have or be where others are, and begin to wonder why some have or seem to better off than we are. First things first; no one should measure themselves by where in life or what someone else has. It defeats your purpose. Secondly we do not know how they obtained what they have or where they are. You purpose is to focus on your path, your strategy, your destination; whatever it is and remember that we are all unique individuals with different abilities, different resources and different purposes.

Success and Happiness

Happiness is the greates paradox in nature. It can grow in any soil, live under any conditions. It defies environment. It comes from within. William George Jordan

What is this profound way that a person can be happy without having wealth or Success? Is it true, if so then why am I not happy? Could be you do not see that you have plenty to be happy about but are mistakenly, looking for the wrong things in the wrong places and do not know what “happiness” is. I will try to answer as best my knowledge lets me.

Success we know does not bring happiness to anyone. It is actually two different things. Happiness is a place where one becomes at peace in mind, body and soul. Outside circumstance do not affect your ability to be happy with yourself…These are my perceptions and let me explain. Psychology and self help material indicates the same message I have about happiness. I have read, heard and seem people who had very little earthly things yet they were happy and I have seen individuals who had substantial assets; worldly good but were miserable. If you watch the news and the so called famous; you can see more unhappiness that Carter had peanuts. I am not joking and it is a fact; just watch the news. Sometimes it seems that the more financial means one has, the more they appear to be unhappy or confused and sometimes addicted.

The people that have little earthly goods and are happy are those who have decided that life is too short to go around with their heads down and complaining constantly about their life and how bad it is. They get up go to work everyday, pay their bills, eat the food their income allows, they exercise their brain by reading and dwelling on their many blessings. Oh yea, blessings with a capital B. They keep their body in shape with exercise, their blood pressure low and their heart pumping adequately by not worrying for one measly second about how Mr. Jones across the street can have four cars and the biggest house in the subdivision.

Happiness: satisfaction, cheer, content, exuberance, hope, gladness, laughter, optimism, enjoyment, pleasure, well-being, peace of mind. To mention only a few things that describes happiness.

Did you see anywhere that is says “Success” “money” “wealth”? Nothing about any of the words above is material.

Satisfaction: If we learn to be satisfied with what we have been blessed with, we will probably get to a better state of peace. If we are not satisfied with what we have then it is up to us; to find whatever it is that we need or must have to make us satisfied. If one can’t do the latter then they should in fact; accept and be satisfied where they are and with what they have.

Cheer: Cheerful people are a blessing to be around. They draw other people to them and usually make others feel cheerful also. Does it mean that everything is hunky doo are the times…nope….but…it makes life more livable in the present.

Content: Contentment is comfort where they are. Which can mean a clean bed to sleep in, with two sets of sheets, water to flush the toilet, cheese and cracker for bedtime snack and they sleep well because they don’t have a ton of bills for buying things they didn’t need to begin with? They have the necessities and they employ a strong desire to be content with the necessities.

Exuberance: They have energy about their life in general, they are excited to be alive and healthy and know that it takes enthusiasm to make each day work as it should.

Hope: “Without Hope We Perish”…the Bible. They keep their hope but do not expect anything out of the ordinary over and above what they need in life.

Gladness: They possess appreciation and cheer for their blessings with a certain joy for daily health, job, peace and contentment.

Laughter: “Laughter doeth good like a medicine” the Holy Bible. Instead of crying about the little petty things that want to drag them down; they laugh about it. They actually find things to laugh about…They look back at the funny things and remember that if we can laugh at ourselves; why do we care if other do. Laughing at ourselves gives us power over any defeat. Laughing at a blunder gives one the ability to take control of the mistakes and the mistake does not take control of the person. When is the last time you laughed?

Optimism: there is absolutely nothing worse than a pessimist. Optimism is what keeps us from breaking down emotionally when negative things seem to be out numbering the positive. Self talk eliminates…optimistic self talk that is; helps one to believe there is a brighter view, a more favorable solution, a better plan, a finished product, more to the picture, that it isn’t over until its over and tomorrow is another day, if we live to see it. The positive side will always help you sleep better than the negative. If you can’t change something before you go to bed…dwell on the optimistic side and who knows by morning it could be changed anyway. It was not as bad as perceived and even if it has not gotten better; it is no worse.

Enjoyment and pleasure: they enjoy the little things such as dinning with the entire family in the evening. They make it special and they have pleasure in being with their family and finding out how everybody’s day was. They make it a habit of being together and discussing the positive and proclamation of the possible tomorrow. They are not going in seven different directions at dinner. They are family and that’s how families become close.

Well Being: similar to satisfaction…contentment, gratification. They are full of contentment and gratification. They are content with their life because they know that are putting first things first and they are grateful for what they have…but more so grateful for “WHO” they are. Satisfied, contentment and gratification…they are not always looking for something “NEW” to make them happy, they are happy where they are.

Peace of Mind: they possess calmness, comfort, tranquility, patience, repose, restraint, quiet, silence, serenity, “MENTAL FREEDOM”.

The latter says it all and actually starts and concludes the principals of happiness. Not once does any of this include money, wealth or fame. Success can be reviewed the same way and is not about obtaining wealth in my book. It is about obtaining the ability to find peace and contentment where you are and on your journey of Success. If you are not happy or at peace with where you are; then your first step is in knowing why and what can you do about it. What is it that is making you “think” you are not successful or happy?

We hear over and over that Success is a journey and I believe that is correct. It comes in many packages. What is success for one may be for someone else mere hogwash. If we are striving for something that isn’t attainable, we are in the middle of a nightmare that is never going to end. No one would want to live life that way. I don’t, so I have decided that I will make peace with where I am and work on being successful in doing the things that are good for me to make my life better but not in an exaggerated way. If I hit something big…hooray for me! It does not mean that I am dead yet or lazy…but it means I am not striving for Success over happiness which is only obtainable from within me. It does not mean that I am not suppose to get another job, if I need one or make more money, pay my bills or just go through life halfway. No, it means that I will be calm, patient, and silent, quiet and have an attitude of serenity so that when an opportunity knocks to make my life better, I will know the path to take. If I can produce these attributes in my life; I will have a mental freedom and be blessed with the ability and power to know that happiness is something I create myself by living my life in a way that is appropriate and attract additional blessing as they come.

“Success is not happiness; happiness is not success. It is by finding happiness that we become Successful.”. linda

“We cannot look around us, above us, beneath us to find happiness…it is when we look within and learn to love ourselves that we reach our full potential and find the happiness that was already there.” linda

What is it? It is something everybody wants...this thing called Success! You think? Well, most of us...but not everyone. Some just do not even think about it period. I have seen people like this and you probably have also. But if we are to explore our road to having "more" of success, we first have to really understand what it is.

Success is:

achievement of intention, planned or attempted

attainment of fame, wealth or power- impressive achievement

something that turns out well

accomplishment

victory

triumph

feat

attainment

winner

sensation

success story

Well this is what the dictionary calls Success but I think the next question should be; what is it to you or me? Just like the person I mentioned above who actually doesn't think about it much...I think we all have our own version to some extent. I think from reading amounts of information and exploring what others have to say that Success is actually a "personal thing" just like "personal growth". We are all uniquely made up, with different frames of minds and causes. We sometimes grow into being who we are before we thought about being successful. Sometimes we are just different in that we can't be anyone but who we are...and we would not have it any other way.

My son loves to fish, in the summer and even when it is cold sometimes. He loves to fish and it is a "Success" thing to him. Why, because he is good at it. He can catch a fish when no one else can. He can come home with the limit and everybody else have only two fish...No, that is not all he does..we do not live in Alaska, but he loves to fish. It is a mind thing with him and it is his alone time to relax, sit back and keep bating the hook. He is also in construction and builds houses and he is good at that and works hard. Is he ever going to be a professional or work where they wear suites and ties..like his parents..No, not my son. My only son, and my only child. He will not and we have all accepted that. Am I disappointed? I got over that a long time ago. There comes a time when you let it go and know that all things happen for a reason. He is a good person, I have never seen him plastered and he can tell his mother, he loves her...what more do I need.

So, what is your prospective of Success? I do not know that I actually had success in mind, when I left this small town many years ago to explore getting a job elsewhere as there were no jobs here. It was my idea and my husband is somewhat of a procrastinator...so he was not for it at first. He as in Insurance at the time and was okay with where he was. I went to Atlanta, Ga and went to work for one of the mortgage investors that you have heard so much in the news about lately; Federal Home Loan Mortgage Association (Freddie Mac). It was actually the beginning of a very fruitful mortgage lending career of 30+ years. I had worked for the Federal Land Bank (rural home loans) and had experience in processing loans. It had its ups and downs but all in all; the income was good, I had a chance to travel for several years and it was something that kept my mind constantly learning new things and changes. Of course we know the latest downside to Mortgage Lending. Now I am reaching for Success Part 2 in my life.

I think part of my Success, was luck...but not totally, because I moved away from my comfort zone. I was eager to learn something new, over and above what I already knew, and I was not satisfied with just being mediocre. I worked hard, believed in my potential and I made far over the average income some of the years. Did I start out that way? Nope, but I worked my way up to the positions that paid the most and it was goal after goal and sometimes job changes and sometimes challenges that I did not like having to learn from. But, I did and eventually it all came. Just because one is not from the City...just a country girl so to speak, does not mean that Success cannot be achieved. It has nothing to do with where you are from, who you associate with, what your name is or where you went to school. It is all about determination, perserverance, and how hard you are willing to work and what you might have to give up.

Some educational quotes about Success

"Success often comes to those who dare to act. It seldom goes to the timid who are afraid of the conquences." Jawaharlal Nehru

"Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failute." Earl Wilson

"Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven't planted." David Bly

"Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire." Reggie Leach

"A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has umlimited enthusiasm." Charles Schwab

"Success is the maxium utilization of the ability that you have." Zig Ziglar

"It is literally true that you can success best and quickest by helping others to succeed." Napoleon Hill

This best one is last

"Recipe for success: Study while others are sleeping; work while others are loafing; prepare while others are playing; and dream while others are wishing." William A. Ward

Success is achievable for those who desire it and whatever their preception of it is. Of course I am not one to promote fame, but if that is one's desire, you must create within you a way to become famous. So that you can give us lay people some advice when we need to know who to vote for...ha! ha!. Whatever you talent is, it must be developed and in some fashion spead to others. There are many more ways now with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and even Blogger to let people know you have talent. Don't forget "American Idol".

If you have a desire for wealth...I believe this can be acheived without doing something so very important...if you are willing to sacrifice when you are young and stick with it...you can save with a 401K and and simply doing without the extras; clothes like the Jones, shoes like the stars wear, going to every movie that comes out and have a good basker of money (if we do not have another Wall Street and financail drop) when you are ready to retire. I have seen this done. I won't say they are all wealthy...but they do not have to worry. Sometimes it is called being stable, satisfied and contented where you are as long as you are happy. Success is certainly a journey for all.

Success is different for all...we all want to go different places and do different things. We may not know exactly what that is but if we desire to be in a different place than where we are, we will have to understand Success and What it is....

Success In Life

Most of us know that Success is like anything else, it must be worked at. It must be taken seriously and there are certain keys to unlock the potential within each individual. We all have it, potential that is. We are created equal and it is up to us to reach our own potential. Achievement in life doesn’t have to be about being successful at work. It can be about our life in general. If we desire good things, we act in a way for good to be produced from our actions. If we desire great things, we must then work harder to achieve these great things and need a plan of action and a progress report every now and then to make sure we are headed in the right direction.

Success is not just about wealth. Wealth is an added infringement to working smart and hard. There is a difference in working hard but we must work smart also. We must study ways to progress in our endeavors which take up less time, produce more quality and provide the most quantity and this can mean even in our efforts to accomplish a better home life with valuable together time.

Harmony in Life will produce Success

If we are to feel Success in Life and endeavors to accomplish a task or a project within a group or alone for that matter; there is a certain amount of Harmony we must bring into our efforts. With Harmony, we find consistency and cooperation in our endeavors. We find with Harmony it is easier to have the meeting of the minds. Expressing and maintaining harmony in our life is a powerful tool when we go within our spiritual consciousness. It can open up unexpected opportunity, expansion, joy and an ability to go higher in knowledge. With harmony we have are able to work in peace, tranquility and have a rapport with whom we are working instead of a clash or disagreement which sometimes exist. I truly believe that the person in charge of something, a project, a plan of action, business plan, any kind of plan or meeting; must bring to the table the overall ambiance of the how things are to play out. If you want to have a distinctive ability to know how to direct an people, you must have certain characteristics to include: harmony, calmness, stability, self confidence and most of all the ability to judge the character of your audience.

Faith Brings Success

Faith is a part of Success in Life and I feel imperative to bring total Success. It has been said that some people call faith a faculty rather than a value. One must have faith because it is a dynamic principle for living. We have to have the faith that we can accomplish what we are attempting to do. We have to believe that if anyone can do it, we can. We have to look at the unseen as if it were already done. Sri Aurobindo, and Indian philosopher said it like this….”Faith is the knowledge of the soul which the mind does not yet possess”. Everything we do in life requires faith. Faith in something, someone, our own capacities, technology, law, and many other aspects of getting things done. I am positive that my life would be something less than awful if I had not had faith along the way. Faith in myself, faith in that God has put me here to somehow make life better, if not my own , someone else.

Love for People

I believe one of most important aspects of growing in the Success world (especially if in management) is a person's love for other people. If you don't like mixing with other personalities and do not like dealing with conflict sometimes; you certainly do not need a management position. Anyone in management must have the ability to first step back from a situation and look at every side and especially the one that has not been given. There is no room for taking sides in management. Everyone must be treated equally the same and with respect regardless of the situation. There are certain guidelines for dealing with unacceptable behavior. Sometimes a conflict could be handled differently if the "manager" had trained themself to open up different avenues to resolve issues that come up. Sometimes it all happens so quickly but detaining a conclusion until one has time to think the process; there might be happier endings.

Success A Journey

You have seen it written elsewhere that Success is a Journey not a destination. I think that is probably true. Kind of like becoming the best person that we can be. We strive diligently every day, work at it continuely and know that we are not a finished product probably ever. We just keep at it. We must work at Success the same way. One of the most important roles of anyone is their ability to prioritize what should be first in our life. If we do not know that real Success begins at home, then my perception is that the rest of our life will not be on the right path either. One cannot neglect what makes us who we are to begin with; our family.

Knowing What Directions to Take

To stay on the right path in our endeavors we must know what to let go of and when to proceed. We must fight for the positive but yet know when nothing else will help. Sometimes our path is very clear and we know exactly where we are going and then sometimes later; we begin to wonder what we were actually thinking. Not any of us humans always know exactly what bridge is the most solid and which one has the most loop holes. Sometimes it is a guess to say the least, but in weighing the odds usually if there are no rules broken it is best to follow the safest way. There is no such thing as a sure thing or done deal, until it is done and finished.

Success In Life is not that we get the loudest applause, it is that we get the last laugh.

Success can get to be bigger than we are....we can lose it all...merely by not paying attention.

Not everyone wants just Success and no it doesn't seem to be enough...sometimes it doesn't matter what some people accomplish, they want more. Even when they find Success-When is it Enough...never crosses their mind. More excitement, more love, more attention, more satisfaction, more fame and of course more fortune. Prime example is Tiger Woods. He had it all....supposedly. Sometimes fame is not what it is cracked up to be and I would not trade my very modest, unglamorous life for anyone like this. Sometimes, people loose it when they find themselves in a position of money and power. Obviously, Mr. Woods has been missing something important in his life and it is too bad he did not realize it before he married and had children. He has, it seems forgotten about how he obtained his Success -and how long it took him to achieve where he is now and did not thing about loosing it.

I am not his judge and I don't know all there is to know but it seems that he has this need to see just how many woman he can make feel good or either my question is; just how many women does he need to make himself feel good? Enough about Tiger and on to real life. I wish him luck, more importantly; I wish he wife and children the best.

If there were a prescription for knowing when how much of success was enough, I am sure we would all get it. I think that Success-When is it Enough...differs for all of us. Success to some is getting up in the morning, cooking breakfast, getting the kids off to school and doing nothing until it is time to pick up the kids from school and then prepare dinner. Success for some is going to work, being on time, doing a great job, coming home watching TV, going to bed and then repeating the same things the next day. Then of course there are those who never stop thinking about Success and have no idea when it is enough. I see a lot more men than women who are constantly in a new endeavor to find a new project to work on...not in their primary job but something outside of their everyday job. Nothing wrong with a man trying to produce more income for his family or himself, if not married and in fact, he should as long as he has a balance with family.

Success-When is it Enough can be overdone with anybody. There has to be a balance and usually those that are most successful and achieve the most are those individuals who have a sense of knowing about themselves and what is right and what would be wrong. They know who they are, where they are going and how they are going to get there. They are well rounded individuals and always choose the positive in any situation. Plain and simple. They somehow know how far to take Success-When it is Enough.

We can have everything at our finger tips and loose it in a heartbeat by simply becoming selfish, unstable, self-centered and loosing our focus on what is right. We can forget that the majority of this world has values, at least they try... Values are one of most important aspects of Success...without values...you will never truly have success. Values help determine who you are. They are without a doubt, something you should not be without. If we have any knowledge at all of what is suppose to be the most rewarding things in life we will know seeking to find the balance and take the necessary step to knowing Success-When it is Enough.

Success-Now

When I started thinking about something to be beneficial to all who read, I decided I would produce another blog totally about Success and it's many variations and expressions of how it is determined and how it comes to fruition and progresses within our life. I think a light-bulb must go off in our head and or more appropriately the "light within us" so that we realize all things are ours to explore. There is nothing more important to each of us, than to feel our accomplishments and victories in life and know that our hard work and dedication, in the end were the validity for the end results. If we did not live with a desire to have or find some kind, any kind of Success, we would evaporate into nothing but existence only. When we exist only, we are not totally living and I have seen so many good people in this state. Not anyone should live like this. It was not intended for human kind just to exist. We should make sure that we have character that shines and when we do, everything will fall into place somehow we know that Success Now is on its way.

When I think about Success-Now for anyone including myself; of course I do not forget the suffering that the economy has brought on so many people in our Country. It is so unfair and so uncalled for in so many ways. Nevertheless, I feel that there are ways to overcome any disaster with the right prospective in mind and that Success-Now can be victory for all, no matter what strikes...there is always hope. It doesn't matter if we are at the low end of the pole, there is a way to get back to the top, if we strive with the right attitude and willingness to work hard. I am not talking about just a job only, I am referring to life itself.

Some question that are appropriate to ask oneself might be the following:

Are you seeking personal or professional success

Are you needing a more satisfying relationship

Do you want a better relationship with your child

Do you want a larger salary

Is you personal life obsolete

Are you seeking spiritual maturity

Are you seeking fame

Do you want something that is unattainable

Do you have the right perceptions for success

Are you using success as an escape

Are you rushing through this without careful thought

Have you thought about considering another approach

I could go on and on with the questions..but these are a few things to ask yourself and get honest answers. It is of great importance that we know why we desire success in whatever role it is but yes, "everyone" deserves to feel the empowering effects of triumph in their path to success.

A painter of a beautiful piece of artwork sets out to make a masterpiece, no doubt. He uses the right paint brushes, the right colors, the right canvas and the right frame of mind. How would I know that without being an artist myself? We each have a canvas which is life, we have a conscious, we know what is right and what is wrong. If we do not and do not care about anyone but ourselves, then that should be our starting point as we must be accountable to our self for always doing the right thing, not in some situations, but in all situation. We have everything we need available to us to accomplish almost anything we desire, if we apply ourself to the task. If we choose the right over the wrong there is no reason to contemplate we cannot be rewarded for our efforts to gain whatever it is we desire. Priorities are essential to most everything in life, we have a duty to ourselves but we also have a duty to others. That duty to others is to always be truthful, sincere and straightforward, but at the same time, humble, kind and caring. If we remember the fact that we can get more done by someone helping us, than we can do alone...we have grown personally for sure. It doesn't seem that anyone can get far without personal growth and personal development being a proirity in life as well.

We have one most important duty to ourselves and that is to have patience. Patience is something that most of us lack in great quantities. I know it is something I have to work on. It is not that I want everything now, stat, pronto....it is just that I get in a hurry and when you are working on quality instead of quantity...patience must be a virtue. They say never pray for patience....because you could be tested....really...I don't need anything further to slow me down when my laptop has already shown its fury.

To accomplish Success in our professional life, we must consider our education, our experience, our dedication, our ability to learn what we don't know. I do not believe that anyone knows everything about everything regardless of what their profession. Even Doctors have to look up medications in their medical reference books and go to seminars, even the Lawyers have to look at the book sometimes....No one can retain it all unless they are genius. I worked many years in mortgage but I often had to reflect on rules and regulations because they change so frequently. Yes, I think I knew a lot that many others did not but did I know every aspect of it, no but I knew enough to consider myself as a person who enjoyed Success within the Industry. I felt good about, it doesn't matter what anyone else thought because you see sometimes others are only interested in themselves and their victories, not yours so you have to want Success-Now for the right reasons anyway; Success for "you". We should not be out to impress anyone else, outshine anyone else, nor to make someone else feel less. The end results should be for the gain of respect for ourselves, the satisfaction an accomplishment brings, the higher salary, the results of a job well done, a closer family relationship, a better person, a masterpiece. Most importantly, we did it ourselves! With hard work and a passion for the end results. No one can give it to us, it is something we have to desire, work for and attain for ourselves. Success-Now is about "you". Where are you at this moment? Are your aspirations dead? Wake them up, doesn't matter how long the have been lying dormant. Get up, start living again and know that "you" can do or be anything at any time in life....if you desire it completely, rightfully, cautiously, and work effectively for the final reward.

Success- Through Performance

SUCCESS IS NOT GIVEN, IT IS OBTAINED THROUGH PERFORMANCE

You may think this is a bad choice of words or question why I start this post with a question; but I am going to ask it anyway because, we cannot be this______ if we are to have Success-Through Performance. That question is this; are you lazy? I just have to ask because nothing in life is "free". You can read all the advertisements you want and see that it says "free" you pay only shipping and handling.... before it is over you will see a debit from your checking accout for more money. Well Success isn't free either. To have Success-Through performance...we must work, work hard and work hard some more. You will not get to Success by any other means.

While looking through my Successful words, I come across effective, which is an adjective for Success. For our performance to be "effective" it must not be just any performance, but one with rational vigor and for the cause of promoting an expected end result...Success.

I do not think that anyone owns all the keys to success. It does seem that some have greater opportunities than others. It seems that some people can look at something and it turns into something prosperous and long lived rewards. Some of us have to work harder than others and it always frustrating to say the least when obstacles get in our way of accomplishing what we have set out to do. We all have opposition and times we want to quit, give up, take a break,or forget. It pretty normal behavior I think and sometimes taking a break from pushing ourself too hard is the best things to do to revive our enthusiasm.

Principals of Success- Through Performance:

energy

enthusiasm *nothing is ever as good if you have no enthusiasm-it rubs off on others

knowledge *what you don't know, you learn

acknowledgment of rules and regulations

attitude

courage

ability to focus on small steps

ability to know that you can get more done with others helping you, than you can do alone *in most cases

True achievers are not my any means lazy. They adore what they do, they are usually happy people doing whatever it is they are doing, they have an attitude that is positive and they look at the small steps as well as the finished product. They would go to any lengths to make life better and get a job done and perfection is part of their goal.

We then have some who wants things in life to be better but they have no clue how to discipline themselves or "change" themselves to attain anything, much less "success". Yet, these people are the ones who complain about everything, everybody else tries to do and they do not know what the word positive is.

So, we have decided that those of us who would like to smell the sweet smell of Success-Through Performance are not lazy. We are useful, dedicated, hopeful and eager people out to make life better for ourselves and others. We do not want to dray anyone down or push someone else out of place, we just want to have the feeling of consummation for all of our hard work. Oh, how sweet it is Success-Through a solid, outstanding Performance.
