Average cost of maintenance and repairs, not including gasoline, per vehicle per year is over $600. Many of these repairs could have been prevented or avoided. If someone said they could save you $200 dollars for very little effort, chances are you'd take the offer. So, these simple, little effort tricks and tips to keep your vehicle running its best should help you maintain the paper in wallet.

Register your vehicle with the manufacture, whether new or used, and become familiar with the warranty policies. Keep your address and phone numbers current with the dealership or manufacturer. Sometimes, defects, recalls or other problems are repaired for free by the manufacturer - as long as they can find you and have proof of purchase.

Make friends with your local dealership's service department. When Technical Service Bulletins arrive and/or updates that pertain to your vehicle, ask if they'll give you a heads up. Take advantage of this offer.

Take a look at the owner's manual of your vehicle. If you purchased used and don't have a manual, contact the manufacturer and they will be happy to send you one either free of charge or for a nominal fee. Though the manual may be thick and a little overwhelming, look for the manufacturer's oil change schedule or maintenance matrix. Many of the newer models recommend oil changes every 5, 000 miles or longer; the common myth was to change the oil every 3, 000 miles. Odds are, you're changing your oil more than necessary. If the manufacturer doesn't recommend it, don't do it - save your money.

Air filters create a clean environment for your engine to run. The harder an engine has to work the more wear and tear on your car, increasing maintenance and gasoline costs. Changing the air filter, usually costing $15 or less, twice a year, can save you a great deal. It's a relatively easy skill that can be accomplished on your own or paid for through a service department.

Check your tire pressure once a month. Temperature differences, normal wear and tear or little bumps in the road can lead to under-inflated tires. This wears the tire out faster, which means you could end up purchasing new tires twice as frequently as you should. Many full-service stations can assist with the task or offer free "air" testing stations. A quick, one or two minute stop could make a great difference.

Stretch your gasoline dollars by slowing down. This is a difficult tip to keep under control but with the price of gasoline rapidly increasing, think of saving yourself an addition 12 cents per gallon by driving 60 mph. For every five miles per hour over 60 that your drive (65 is the typical highway speed), you are wasting enough fuel that its adding an extra twelve cents to the cost of each gallon of gas. Twelve cents may not sound like a great deal but calculate it out. Ten gallons of gas in your vehicle each week of the year equals 520 galloons. If you pay $2.00 for each gallon of gas, that's $1040.00 per year. Drive 65 mph all the time and you've add 12 cents to those 520 gallons for a cost of $1102.40 per year. That's a savings you'll appreciate.

So don't forget the little things that can keep your vehicle running in top condition. You lost your car keys? Not to worry, the keys become useless in the wrong hands (and I mean that literally).
Plus, this device also functions as a car alarm system, sending you text messages whenever someone tries to force themselves into your car - you just have to install a GSM SIM card into it. It not only protects you, but it also safeguards others that may be riding in your car. In addition, car insurance covers family members that may also drive the car.

Car insurance does not just protect you. If an accident occurs, the insurance covers you, your vehicle, and any other people that may have been involved. There are different policies that you can purchase depending on what amount of coverage you want. For example, you can choose to guard yourself against accidental harm, burglary, and fire. Your insurance agent can help you choose the policy that meets your needs and your budget.

Your monthly payment is known as a premium. The premium is determined based on factors such as they type of car driven, age, sex, and your past driving history. If you drive a luxury sports car, then you can expect to pay a higher premium than someone driving a lower cost vehicle.

A deductible is the amount of money that you are required to pay if you have an accident. The insurance company will pay for the cost of the repairs, but you must pay for the initial deductible. If the accident was caused by the other driver, then their insurance company may be responsible for paying your deductible.

It is important to make sure that you are covered by car insurance because if you are not, then the expenses to repair your vehicle can be really high. You will also be responsible for paying the other party's damages as well.

There are many insurance companies to choose from. Do your research to find a company that will offer fair rates and full coverage. Researching the insurance companies online is a great way to find out the information that you need. By reading reviews and learning about the guarantees and services that are offered, you will be able to choose a car insurance company that will work for you.

Early in life, Dubonnet developed a passion and took great delight in speed and adventure and desired to perfect the future of road transportation and in particular, the suspension system. As his favorite car was the Hispano-Suiza, he picked the 1932 H-6C chassis, which he had seen previously at the Paris Auto Salon and began sketching designs for a prototype, drawing upon his aviation background and racing experience.

He took his designs to French coachbuilder, Jacques Saoutchik who helped him with the framework of the automobile and then partnered with engineer Antoine-Marie Chedru to develop his patented independent front-suspension system.

What followed was a dramatically streamlined build with an emphasis on aerodynamic styling, affectionately named Xenia, after Dubonnet’s first wife.

Far ahead of its time, the Xenia resembles the fuselage of an airplane with a slender, tapered shape and pointed tail. A new parallel opening door system was used as part of the aerodynamic design and special attention was given to the undercarriage for clean air movement. The curved glass of the windshield and doors are reminiscent of airplane-styling and the panoramic windscreen and removal top were exceptionally futuristic. It featured an 8 liter overhead-valve inline 6 engine capable of 144bhp in standard form. Further, this 1938 car was designed to reach 125mph which rivaled any car of the time and had a cutting-edge four-wheel independent suspension.

In fact, the innovative suspension technology mounted each front wheel on a single arm that extended forward from the kingpin, while a pair of oil-filled, coil spring cylinders offered resistance and swiveled as each wheel turned, improving rise and handling. This original suspension system was later licensed by General Motors and used on its Chevrolet and Pontiac brands. Dubonnet designed his steel masterpiece at 19ft long and claimed that his Hispano-Suiza hyperflex suspension system would give it the “suppleness of a cat”.

To protect this revolutionary automobile, the Xenia was hidden away in 1939 during World War II and did not resurface until 1946 in Paris. The Xenia was then purchased by Alain Balleret, President of the French Hispano-Suiza Club who began the vehicles restoration. Upon Balleret’s death, the car was purchased and completed by Seattle based collector, Charles Morse. Morse debuted the vehicle at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance in 2000.

Today, this dramatic and stunning vehicle resides at the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California under the care of Peter and Merle Mullin. Early this decade gas prices started to rise and President George W. Bush began to release statements of encouragement towards car manufacturers to find alternative fuel sources in order to release are dependence on foreign oil. This was great advice and it sounded just as good in the 1980s when President Reagan spoke of foreign oil companies having a hold on the US. Fast forward to the 11/8/10, two large car companies, Nissan and Chevrolet are about to release two completely electric cars that will be available for the public.

Nissan is calling their car the "Leaf" and Chevrolet is calling their car the "Volt." Obviously Nissan is going for the "green" image behind their car and Chevrolet is trying to keep their brand of "power" with this model of electric vehicle. These two cars are geared towards the public and the government is encouraging the sales of these vehicles by offering rebates to the buyers to make them more affordable. These cars look nice and comfortable, but there have been failures throughout the car industry where people thought a certain model car would do great things. Some of the best examples are the Ford Pinto, Mitsubshi Montero, Ford Edsel, Cadillac Cimarron, and GM's EV1 were all expected to sell very well, but they didn't.

To state that they sold moderately well is an exaggeration and GM's EV1 is important because it was initially the car that was to bring in the new wave of electric vehicles. After a recall from GM, under suspicious reasons, the EV1 production was halted and the closest thing to an electric vehicle was a hybrid. Hybrids are not a solution to the problem of dependence on foreign oil at best it's a nice band-aid. These new cars hopefully will last longer than their predecessors and will encourage fully electric vehicles to be made and much like the first gasoline powered vehicle progression will take place. The worst that could happen is the planet's air will be a bit cleaner, but in a best case scenario the price of gasoline powered cars will drop down to dirt cheap and we all could afford a nice muscle car at the fraction of the price.

You might be lucky and have years of accident free motoring but then again you might not!

Car insurance isn’t meant to be something you make regular use of. Like most insurances the hope is that you will never need to make a claim but if something goes wrong and you are involved in an accident you will certainly live to regret trying to cut corners and save some money through not having car insurance.

If you haven’t go car insurance and are wondering whether or not to get a car insurance quote just take a look at ten good reasons why you should never drive without car insurance again:

1. If you have an accident that is your fault and you don’t have car insurance you could leave a vulnerable victim without the care they need to recover from what is probably the worst ordeal of their life.
2. If you are hit by an uninsured driver and you don’t have car insurance yourself your medical care won’t be covered by any form of personal liability insurance that would have been part of your auto insurance package. Have you had a look at the cost of health care recently!
3. If you are driving without car insurance you are driving illegally.
4. If you don’t have car insurance it can leave you concentrating on who’s following you or who you are passing rather than on the road. Big accident risk.
5. Your inability to fund the one off cost of replacing your car if it was stolen or written off might leave you without transport for a considerable period of time.
6. Driving without car insurance and getting caught could loose you your license.
7. If you are considered high risk it could significantly increase your car insurance premiums. Being caught driving without insurance is likely to push you into the high risk category with most car insurance providers.
8. An unexplained break in your car insurance could impact your no claims discount leaving you with higher car insurance premiums in the future.
9. If you go for a period of time without car insurance you will probably have to lie when you next apply for car insurance. Proven falsifications could result in your car insurance provider revoking insurance cover and not settling a claim.
10. Driving without car insurance could leave you personally liable for significant third party claims in the event of an accident!

If you are still tempted to drive without car insurance just try and imagine how you would feel if you hit a child. Then imagine how much worse you would feel if you then left that child without the money to fund their health care or any form of financial compensation for the devastating impact an accident might have on their life.

Don’t ever drive without car insurance!

For more on car insurance visit 24-7-insurance.com

The bad credit history will not come as a hurdle for you in going for an unsecured car loan.

The loan amount which you get depends upon many factors like duration of the loans, past credit record, repaying capacity, your home, etc. The lenders judge your whole financial background and then offer you a loan according to your repaying ability.

There are a lot of benefits associated with an unsecured car loan. The first and the foremost is that you will avail a quick short term loan. With an unsecured car loan the risk to the lenders is high which results in short repayment term. Secondly, less documentation work is involved, because of the absence of the collateral. Thirdly no valuation of property is being done and loan is approved quickly. Overall you will be getting a hassle free proceeding.

There are some disadvantages as well with an unsecured car loan. It usually carries a higher rate of interest. The amount which you would like to borrow will be typically less. The rates and terms of an unsecured loan basically depend upon the personal circumstances. Generally the advertised rate by the lenders may not be the rate that they may offer you.

The lenders in the U.K. cater to the need of people in varied situation. The car loan is being designed such that it can cater to your specific need. So, don’t delay in buying your dream car and start looking for a right lender.

The author is a business writer specializing in finance and credit products and has written authoritative articles on the finance industry. There are so many ways that it brings all of the necessary services that you normally would have to either take a personal day to take care of during the work day and/or drive across town or the country to accomplish without on the internet capabilities.

So what are some of the advantage of online car donating? Well, for one thing there is the convenience of donating in your own home and ability to communicate easily with the charity that only comes with continuous connectivity that you get with the World Wide Web. But isn’t it too risky to make such a large donation over the internet, especially with all of the fraudulent charity activity in the world today? This is a real concern that many people have, and one that I want to address as well as offer many offsetting bonuses of choosing to “donate cars on the internet.”

The question then is, “is the risk of making the donation on the internet less than the benefits that you gain?” My answer is a quick and resounding YES! Let me first dispel the myth that the internet lacks the safety and security necessary to exchange private financial information that you need to purchase something on the internet as serious as a vehicle. You must understand now that the technology is presently online to insure that you can do business including the necessary exchange of sensitive information over the internet. So there is really no difference in security whether you choose to donate car off the lot or on the internet.

What then are the advantages of choosing to donate car via the internet that supersede the risk of not being able to personally check the car and see it with your own two eyes? Well there is the amazingly powerful advantage of searching for the right charity which saves you time and therefore money and lots of it. There are also systems set up to on the internet reduce fraud and cheating that are not necessarily available when buying cars, especially from private donators. There are licenses that certify the credibility of the charity. There are also systems set up that hold charities accountable for misinformation, and it is now becoming more and more popular to offer receipts which official tax credit numbers.

More importantly countless blessings. If you donated a car last year, you need to read the following to understand the new rules.

Giving Your Car to Charity – The New Tax Rules

Millions of people donate cars, boats, RVs, motorcycles and many other forms of transportation to charities each year. While doing a good thing is one motivation, reaping a sizeable tax deduction is also a motivating factor. Unfortunately, the IRS has concluded that more than a few people were deduction very optimistic values for their cars. Instead of auditing everyone, the IRS simply changed the deduction rules for vehicle contributions to charity.

If you donated a vehicle of any sort to a qualified charity, but claimed less than $500 as a deduction, you can stop reading. The rule changes don’t apply to such situations. If you are claiming a deduction in excess of this amount, read on.

The new IRS regulations are pretty simple to understand. If you donated a vehicle to a qualified charitable organization, the amount you can deduct is the exact dollar value the charity receives when it resells the vehicle. Put another way, you can no longer claim the blue book value of the car. The IRS wants to know what it was really worth, not what it would be worth if you hypothetically repainted it, got new tires, rebuilt the engine and so on.

Charitable organizations are more than aware of the new regulations and they will more or less take care of everything for you. To donate a car, you simply arrange for delivery to the charity. The charity will then resell the car at some point in time. The organization will then will send you correspondence detailing the gross proceeds from the sale of the vehicle.

This correspondence should, but is not required to, come to you as Form 1098-C. Yes, another form. Simply take the deduction for the gross proceeds on Schedule A and attach the Form 1098-C to your tax return. If the charity sends you a written letter, attach that to your tax return.

While the above may sound overly burdensome, it really isn’t.

Richard A. Car Donation Programs versus Doing It Yourself

Have you thought about doing something that is meaningful and full of good will? Many Americans wish to, but many never end up getting around to doing so. Do not be one of those individuals. You do not have to be rich to donate. Car donations are a great way to help out a good cause, especially if you do not have the financial recourses needed to make a large cash donation. In fact, you will find that you don’t even need to have a new car. Many donated cars are in less than perfect shape, but they are still appreciated.

If you have made the decision to donate your car, you have a number of different options. Those options often involve using the services of a car donation program or finding a charity, which will accept your donated car, all on your own. Choosing one of those methods isn’t as easy as it may sound. Perhaps, the best way to decide which donate car method is the best for you is to compare the two. The one that has the most advantages or benefits should be the car donation method that best fits your needs.

When it comes to finding a car donation company or a local charity, you will find that a car donation company is often easier to find. You can find the contact information for multiple programs online. This can easily be done with an internet search. For the best results, you will want to perform a search using the words donate car. Within a few seconds and with the click of a mouse, you should be able to find a local car donation program.

You can also familiarize yourself with local charities, especially ones that may want a donated car; however, it isn’t as easy as finding a car donation program. With car donation programs, you know exactly what they want. Unfortunately, not all local charities want or need a donated car. This means that after spending hours researching and contacting local charities, you could still be stuck with your car.

As previously mentioned, you do not have to have a perfect car to donate. Car donations are accepted in just about any condition, in most cases. Car donation programs are more willing to accept a non-working vehicle than one of your local charities. This is because most car donation programs partner with mechanics and other car experts. These professional could turn to your non-working car into one that works great. However, to do this time and money is needed. Unfortunately, you will find that most of your local charities do not have either. Therefore, if you have a car that is in less than perfect working condition, you may want to obtain the services of a donation program.

While it may seem like a car donation program has most benefits, you may still prefer to do your own leg work. If this is the case, go ahead. All that matters is that you made the decision to donate. Car donations are wanted by all different types of charitable organizations. It doesn’t necessarily matter how you get your vehicle to them, as long as you do.

Mariah Cruz is a writer for Car Angel . com where you will see abundant amounts of information on things such as a Car donation and other related information.

Often, trading it in means receiving only a fraction of its value. Selling it through an ad in the newspaper or online is a hassle. Not only do you have to pay for the advertisement, but you also have to endure questions from potential buyers and make yourself available to people who want to view the car or take it for a test drive. In addition, you assume financial risks, in that the buyer may present you with, for example, a fraudulent check.

Increasingly, car owners are choosing to donate their older cars to charity. The process involved in a car donation is straightforward, and gives the car owner the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping those in need. Often, the tax benefit afforded the car owner as the result of an auto donation exceeds the benefit of the outright sale of the vehicle.

A variety of charities are embracing car donation as a way to support the important and valuable work they do to help adults and children who are less fortunate. Many charities have seen donations fall off, as donors instead have contributed to disaster relief, such as efforts triggered by the tsunami in Asia or by Hurricane Katrina. When you donate your car to charity, you are providing worthy organizations with much-needed support.

Many of these organizations provide services internationally to people in need. Often, a car donation can go far in helping those who are most in need. You can be sure that your auto donation has a significant impact when it is used to help the over three billion people in the world who live on a meager $2 per day.

Your car donation can help a cause you care about and help you reap the tax benefits of auto donation. Whether your car is barely used or barely runs, you can still help those in need and list the contribution on your tax return. Although you should check with your tax preparer, you can typically deduct the full amount that the charity receives for your car or $500, whichever is more.

When you decide to donate your car, the process is easy. For example, 'Donate Car for Charity' lists five simple steps you can take to make a difference in the lives of those who need the services that charities can provide. In essence, they will help you determine the value of your car donation, and all you have to do is complete an auto donation form, provide the vehicle title, and arrange for your car to be picked up at no charge. Then, you can reap the tax benefit from your car donation, and feel the satisfaction that comes with knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of others.

Chris Robertson is an author of Majon International, one of the worlds MOST popular internet marketing companies on the web. Don't worry you aren't alone. The two main things you need to know when it comes to donating a car for tax deduction is that the actual amount depends on the person who is donating and their claim as to the value of the car, but also on the way the charity puts the car to use. There is one other thing you should know about the car to donate for tax deduction. If the car happens to be worth more than $500 and the charity decides to sell the car that may affect the limit of the person applying for the car to donate for tax reduction and the limit to the access on the gross profits from the charities sale.

Wanting to get the most out of the car to donate for tax deduction requires some knowledge on the matter. There are a few points that may be significant in how well you will benefit.

The first thing to know is that you need to be able to verify the eligibility of the organization that you are donating to. A library or Publication 78, which is an online resource, can help you pinpoint the charities that qualify to be used to take advantage of the car to donate for tax rebates. This will save you time and effort in the long run.

You also must remember that when it comes to claiming the car to donate for tax deduction you must itemize your deduction. You can no longer just stick to the standard deduction. To be able to fully maximize your advantages you must itemize.

A good place to look is a used-car buying guide; these are invaluable at determining the fair market value of the car in question. Being able to correctly determine this will help you maximize the amount of your car to donate for the purposes of tax reduction. Once you have correctly estimated the fair market value, deduct it. Unfortunately this is all you can, not the full value. When applying for the car to donate for tax deduction you must also file a Charitable Contribution Deduction. As well as this you must be immaculate in keeping records of all your receipts and forms. This will help you to achieve the most from the car to donate for tax reduction.

Check out http://www.easy-tax-deductions.com/ for more articles on child care tax deduction and donations tax deductions.

It can help the distressed to a large extent by providing assistance and relief. The most important thing here is that there are no hassles involved in the donation of a car. Cars that are not run in years are also accepted after evaluating their value. The title to the car is extremely important when donating. But if there is no title, the organization can still make necessary arrangements. The Motor Vehicle Department of the donor's state can also help in this regard. There should be no lien on the car.

The donor does not have to drive the car down to the charity organization. This is taken care off by the organization itself. The organization has the car towed away by a reliable, bonded, and licensed towing company free of cost. The towing company contacts the donor within three to four working days at the latest and accordingly the time and place which suits both the parties concerned is decided and the car is towed. The donor should ensure that there are no hidden costs involved. An online application form has to be filled by the donor to contact the organization to schedule a pick up. Donations should be made to an IRS registered on profit making organization. An added advantage of donating a car is tax benefit. If the car is accepted by the charity organization after looking at its condition, a tax-deductible receipt is issued. Donation is deductible under income tax. The amount of deduction may be the value of the car up to $500 or the amount for which the car is sold, if above $500.

While donating, the car should be cleaned and it should be free of any personal belongings. The keys should be left on the dashboard incase the donor is not at home at the time of pick up. Any problem with the car until it has been picked up by the organization is the responsibility of the donor. All the previous fines and storage charges are the donor's liability. After the car is towed, it is the responsibility of the organization.

Car Donations provides detailed information on Car Donations, Used Car Donations, Charity Car Donations, Car Donation Tax Deduction and more.
