I really need to pretty much get back into my blog. I never really got it to where I wanted it. It just seemed to lack what I wanted to happen. I am sure it was me just not knowing how to tie it all together. I want something were I can go every day, tie my music i listened or am listening to at that moment. Through in some pictures and just fill it with my emotions of the day. What I did. What I am doing. What I am thinking about. What I feel. Am I the only one who just feels so much emotion everyday? Super highs and super lows. It reminds me I am alive. That I am capable of feeling so much and to such extremes, in a short time ( the course of a day). I am so moved by music. I can't get enough. Always listening to it. I can fit a perfect song at any moment of my day and the result is tremendous. Maybe I just need to do this. Post what I think, then sum it up.I will try it now lol...

To Sum it up-

Today I was busy at work. However its only going to get more crazy busy in the next 24 to 36 48 hours as Cali, Portland, and Seattle all have significant rain and wind storms headed into our areas. I was hoping to take some short notice time off at work, scoop up my camera and head to the Oregon Coast and capture some beach pictures of the waves and high winds. But work calls so another time. That's ok because I love what I do and how exciting to be so busy managing all of the outages right!?? Below are some pictures from last year when I took my camera to the coast during another wind and storm event. The camera was new at the time and I was still getting used to all of its settings but I did find this lone couple walking along the beach as the rain pounded down and the waves roared from the westerly winds. These are the shots I thought turned out the best.

I found some old music today. In particular Foals - Milk & Black Spiders. Youtube video below. What really powerful lyrics and dem chills and goosebumbs I get from listening to it, wow. Haha. Also I feel festive for the season. This Christmas its really more about the meaning to me. I have had a great year and I want to be more thankful and celebrate the meaning a little bit more with my family and friends. Lastly but probably at the top of the pics shwon below is a shot Dammit in front of the Christmas tree I took a few days ago. Love that lens I used. Bookah pics for the win :)

Save Money with Your Slow Cooker‏!!!

2014-03-11T10:45:00.000-07:00

I received an email from a website called Greatist (which I highly recommend you get on their mailing list if you are not) that had some amazing recipes for the slow-cooker. 77 to be exact. Check out the link below; Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal, your number 1 on the list and I can tell that's for a reason! http://greatist.com/health/healthy-crock-pot-recipes

Well I haven't really been on here the last two months I want to say. Maybe it's been longer. Haven't really been on here...????...No more like not on here at all. lol. I'd say I have been busy but isn't everybody busy.? And that's just an excuse. I need to own it and keep this thing going, because I really like blogging about what I am up to. Tuesday I test at work for some career progression. God, literally yes, I hope I pass. I have failed this test 4 times. It is gruelingly hard, no really, I am not just saying that. Proof? Ok well our career mapping people at my Work (Comcast) up at the Corporate level in Philadelphia, have gone over the course content and the test and re-worked just about all of it. I guess they pulled a bunch of questions from the pool of available questions that could be on the test and re-worded a bunch too. So we will see, its this upcoming Tuesday at 8am. I am feeling optimistic about it. Until then I will keep doing what I have been doing the past few weeks, studying every day for multiple hours :)

2013-07-30T20:56:00.000-07:00

Today I took some shots using the 55-300mm lens for the first time. Taken from afar, but zoomed in gives a very nice look and allowed me to blur the background. I am still learning how to use the camera and everyday is a new adventure!

The photo below will take you to the complete album from today's photo shoot on PicasaWeb. It can be found on my Google+ also. Thanks for checking it out and if you have any tips or information, please share. I welcome learning from others!

First photo shoot of close-ups

2013-07-24T20:48:00.002-07:00

Last Monday while up in Vancouver, I had my new camera with me and decided to visit Officer's Row . It was about 7 pm in the evening and the weather was perfect. I strolled around on the grounds, walking around for maybe an hour, taking pictures. It was almost therapeutic. I originally intended to photograph the historic homes, but the flowers on the grounds were so pretty I decided to do close-ups instead. I have included the link below which will take you to the Album where I have them uploaded onto my Google + please feel free to check them out, in fact I insist!

Before I get ahead of myself just prior to that I made a stop at The Waterfront Where I grabbed a few shots of the I-5 bridge over the Columbia. I quickly took these and moved on. My subject that evening was not the bridge and I was excited to get to my final destination and start shooting photos!

Below is the link, I uploaded every shot I took. The first half of the batch will look funny. Blurry on the edges. I accidentally had the camera in "miniature effect" thinking it was a different setting. (This camera has so many options I love it. And to bring you up to speed if you are not aware I recently purchased a Nikon D5200 DSLR). After years away from photography it has called me back and this is my first DSLR. Miniature effect, in case your wondering, is used to make far away subjects look like miniatures. A good example would be taking a shot of a city from afar, the results would be that it looks like one of miniature model cites.

I have lots to learn with this new camera, and that's half of the adventure. I am looking forward to posting lots of pictures, and as I mentioned I am currently uploading every shot. That way in a few months I can look back a see how my skill has progressed :)

Insta Earth!!!

So I found this in the Google Develops area. It's called Insta-Earth. Using photos with geographical data it plots each photo onto a large map. The ability to see the photos of those I am following, and also my own geo-tagged photos. pretty cool stuff. Check it out :)

concert bootlegging and my two cents

So this topic hits a nerve with me, and I am glad to see more and more bands and music artists doing this. Its about addressing the prolific use of smartphones at concerts. There is a link below to a great article from "The Next Web".
