Bill Gates: a benefactor of mankind ... version GMOs and nuclear

2011-12-10T08:40:00.001-08:00

MOST. What to do with his money when it is the second richest man in the world? Help others! Must still invest in ethical companies. Yves Paccalet, ecologist, is not taken in philanthropy of Microsoft boss.Bill Gates, one of the richest men in the world, the founder (and profiteer) of the company Microsoft, has launched a foundation called "philanthropic and environmental." Green paint! Here are some recent news (2010), given by the online journal Save the Earth, the Gazette of whistleblowers:
"Founded in 1994, the Bill and Melinda Gates manages a capital of $ 33.5 billion. This jackpot has been invested to the tune of $ 23 million in the purchase of 500,000 shares of the agrochemical firm Monsanto."

Waltz with Monsanto

Yes, Monsanto, the temple of GMOs, the manufacturer of Agent Orange (dioxin-) per ton dumped on Vietnam, many of the worst pesticides, or disaster Roundup ...

Gates-Monsanto: behold, amazed, loving union of two monopolies the most cynical and most aggressive of the planet! 90% of the world of computer software for the first 90% of the market of GMOs for the second ...

Tango with GMOs

The Gates Foundation cooperates also with the Rockefeller Foundation, a fervent promoter of GMOs to poor countries. All these humanists have joined forces to create the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa - Agra). It works to open the continent to agrochemicals and GMOs.

The Gates Foundation has, moreover, assured the good graces of the finance ministers of the United States, Canada, Spain and South Korea, which were put on the table $ 880 million for " World Programme for Agriculture and Food Security "(Global agriculture and food security program). The future of farmers and consumers of the world is the best possible hands.

Cha cha cha with the nuclear

That's not all! The latest issue (December 8, 2011) Mail International, which itself contains information of Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post, reveals that since 2009, Bill Gates commits capital good packages in nuclear energy. This gentle humanist green meeting in December, the patrons of the China National Nuclear Corporation to design and sell them with a new type of nuclear reactor "clean", that is to say, using "less" of uranium "low enriched" and therefore leaving "less waste".

All quotes are useful and recommended. Friends of the human race, if you host one day Bill Gates in your noble assembly, be sure to offer him some tea GM heated nuclear loves this type of drink ...

>>> Samsung won a legal battle against Apple

As for Apple TV, the biography of Steve Jobs suggests, ensuring that the co-founder of the company had finally found what he wanted to make it work.

WebOS is in the lap of HP but becomes open source

2011-12-10T08:27:00.000-08:00

HP has finally decided: the U.S. group decided to keep WebOS, its OS for mobile devices, despite the premature abandonment of its TouchPad tablet in August. After the branch PC, Meg Whitman has taken a new decision against the grain of his predecessor, Leo Apotheker, choosing to keep WebOS. However WebOS will surely be transferred to another division, the contours for the time not yet determined.
This is not the only announcement that the new CEO of HP has taken since last night WebOS is free and opens to the open source community. Meg Whitman has justified this choice by stating that "HP wants to unleash the creativity of the community to create a new generation of applications and devices. Developers, partners, engineers from HP and other manufacturers can help to bring about improvements and new versions on the market. "HP will continue in parallel to support technically the mobile OS, in order to "make improvements and new versions." It's also a way not to condemn to oblivion WebOS.

If HP is counting on Windows 8 to equip its shelves in 2012, WebOS should review the day of an HP device stamped in 2013. In contrast, smartphones do not seem to be the priority.

Who stole the moon? NASA seeks to understand

2011-12-10T08:26:00.000-08:00

Nobody move! NASA announced it had stolen the moon. Oh, you can look up to heaven, you will not notice anything. But according to a report, the U.S. space agency would have lost hundreds of pieces of moon.
Since Apollo, NASA researchers regularly prepared pieces of Moon, but also samples of asteroids, Mars, comets, or even ions from the outer layer of the sun. But then ...
Scientists lose them or make them fly. Between 1970 and 2010, 517 samples have been lost in the wild. Of course, it's not much on the 26 000 specimens on loan. But it is their rarity that makes them unique objects. (NASA has in stock 140 000 pieces of Moon, 18 000 meteorite samples and 5000 samples of cosmic dust and comet).

As a result, NASA will identify the best stock, and implement an annual inventory in order to limit these losses.

Climate: the third day, the Durban conference still hopes an agreement

2011-12-10T08:24:00.000-08:00

Climate negotiations played overtime Saturday afternoon in Durban (South Africa) to extract an action agenda for the coming years to curb global warming and its devastating announced.Cases in the corridors, workers unscrew the hand stands and removing panels, large entrance hall which plays almost deserted, or almost alone, a man at the piano: the Durban Conference Centre gave an amazing show after 12 days of intense activity with delegates from 194 countries.
Number of ministers, negotiators or NGO activists were leaving to catch a plane, raising questions about the possibility of approving - plenary - a possible agreement in the evening.
The last text under discussion proposes to commit to an agreement involving all countries to be adopted in 2015. The date of its entry into force and its legal nature ("protocol" or "other legal instrument"), however, remained unclear.
The objective of the international community is to limit the rise in global temperature to 2 ° C to avoid runaway climate machine.
"We are now, for reasons of time, in an extremely critical situation," said the German Minister of the Environment, Norbert Röttgen while the conference was originally scheduled to end Friday night.
"We risk failure," added, echoing the French Minister for Ecology Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet.
Many voices questioned the effectiveness of the strategy of the South African presidency of the conference accusing him lack a lack of direction of tempo.
"Have you ever read Sartre's No Exit?
A meeting with key players in the negotiations began in the early afternoon, but no information is filtered, including Chinese and American negotiators out without comment.
"The bottom line is that people are sitting and talking is what is happening," said Tosi Mpanu-Mpanu, chairman of Africa (54 countries), making its way among the journalists gathered outside the room.
The launch of a "road map" towards a global agreement is the condition imposed by European countries to take on new commitments under the Kyoto Protocol and thus keep him alive.
Only legally binding treaty on climate, whose first commitment period ends late 2012, Kyoto is a highly symbolic for developing countries. Its collapse would be a very negative signal two years after the psychodrama of the Copenhagen summit.
The draft text also refers, for the first time, the need to increase the level of ambition of commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, insufficient to date. According to a study presented this week in Durban, the world has embarked on the path of an increase of 3.5 ° of the thermometer world away from the target of 2 ° C.
Faced with uncertainty about the ultimate outcome of current negotiations, some delegates raised the possibility of a suspension of negotiations as was the case in 2000 at the climate conference in The Hague.
"Have you ever read" No Exit "by Sartre? I'm starting to feel like this after two weeks in the conference center," sighed Twit Kelly Rigg, Head of Global Campaign for Climate Action, a broad coalition of NGOs.

2011-12-09T13:20:00.000-08:00

The first customers of the Apple store in Grand Central Terminal were treated like "rock stars" at the opening of the new and largest department store chain in New York. The first customers of the Apple store in Grand Central Terminal were treated like "rock stars" at the opening of the new and largest department store chain in New York. Some waited 24 hours in the street to be the first to enter. The first customers were treated to a guard of honor and a red carpet worthy of the Cannes Film Festival. More than 300 employees in red T-shirt greeted customers with shouts and applause, as if they had won a lottery.
Apple does not yet launched new product on Friday morning. This was only the opening of its fifth store in New York. The space is 23,000 square feet (about 2100 square meters) and the blue dome of the station overlooks the store, completely open area.
By moving to Grand Central Terminal, a station dating back 140 years and a historical monument, Apple wanted to transform the simple act of buying an iPad a great experience.
It takes quite an event to delay the thousands of New Yorkers passing through a station not in a hurry every morning. Hundreds of people were frozen in place staring at the balcony of the concourse to open at 10 am.
Jacob Davis, 19, of Albany, spent the night standing in a corridor of the station to be the first to enter with his father. "I'm here to experience and receive a free T-shirt," he said before being escorted, like a star by a team of cameras.
The new store will steal the show undoubtedly that of the 5th Avenue, the famous Cube, one of the most photographed monuments by tourists. Apple has also respected the architecture of the building: there is very little glass, the material signatures of all their stores.
As most clients are usually in a hurry, there are two "Genius Bar" and express counter without waiting to get a product previously purchased by Internet. You can also buy in "scanning" the bar code with her iPhone. The store also offers short courses in 15 minutes.
Apple has an agreement with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to occupy the space. The company had to pay $ 5 million to remove the previous tenant. The annual rent is $ 1.1 million and construction has cost $ 2.5 million.
Unlike most other businesses in Grand Central, Apple will not have to share a portion of its revenues, causing a controversy in New York.
A planned demonstration to denounce the use of minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo in many electronic products has not disrupted the opening of the store under surveillance. So far, the petition was signed by 10,000 people.
The Grand Central store is open until 21 pm on weekdays, 19 pm Saturday and 18 am Sunday.
Over 300 million people visited Apple stores in the last year throughout the world. The chain has 361 branches.

Twitter changes its web and mobile interfaces

2011-12-09T13:16:00.000-08:00

The network of micro-blogging opens a whole new interface, designed to better organize the various flows of the user. As a bonus, this change also involved in the IOS and Android applications. The new interface introduced by Twitter called "Fly". With the redesigned user interface, available both on the web version, as the mobile versions and applications iOS and Android, the stated aim of the social network is to give the user a new approach to the news feeds, it to discover more contacts, more discussion topics and expand its community Clubic reports.
"We have simplified the design to make it easier than ever to follow what is important to you, connect with others and to discover new things," Twitter announced in the introduction of its new design. The unification is at the heart of the project, since whatever the platform, the interface retains the same aesthetic and ergonomic standards.
The layout changes as a result, navigation elements are passed from right to left, disrupting already users. But nevertheless this reorganization brings long awaited functionality. One of them is the ability to display a photo published on an external platform to Twitter directly on its news page. This avoids opening multiple tabs to go look at the pictures of his friends.
On the home page, three parts are clearly defined. The "Home" that presents the news feed of contacts, "Connect" which lists the interactions among its own followers, and finally "discover" that offers the most intense discussions on the social network. Twitter speaks of "Stories," topical unearthed on the web, and widely commented upon and organized through a "hashtag", a code where the subject is preceded by a # and then be able to follow all the message with the indication .
Mobile, navigation respects this new categorization. The look of different applications has been working to provide a uniform variation of the site on iOS or Android platforms. The look of the application was also reviewed, more refined and more pleasant to use daily. Regrettably only a lack of contextual actions on ergonomics. Unable to activate such a response to a tweet, retweet or a slip of the finger. It would have been entirely hands-on tactile devices.
Errors, small failures, there are on these new platforms Twitter, but the paint is still too fresh to be a full review. Updates will certainly refine new directions in social network usage.
