On Saturday I went shopping. Got a bunch of great stuff. At American Eagle I ended up getting a pair of jeans for myself and for Russ. Both on sale and cost about $27 and some change. Had a $40 gift card so I didn't have to spend any of my money! Then we went to Aeropostale. Got a pair of jeans and a shirt for Russ and 2 shirts for myself for around $40. Then went to Victoria's Secret and got 5 pairs of underwear and 2 bras for $50. All that for less than $100 of my own money spent! Can't really beat that. Anyway.. Sunday really wasn't interesting. Monday started the work week again. It rained ALL day. A town that's about a 1/2 hour drive from here had some pretty bad flash flooding. Most other places around the area were spared. I finally get a day off on Thursday.

So over that past few weeks I've seen everything "donate to haiti" possible. I'm sure I might ruffle someone's feathers here, but oh well! I find it hard to believe that almost immediately we start sending help to other countries, but when our own is in trouble what do we do? Most of the time wait til it's too late. Hurricane Katrina... we waited. Hell there's still people out there who aren't back in their homes yet from that and we're sending help elsewhere. Look at the recession we're in. Lots of people in this country are jobless... wondering how they will pay bills... where will their next meal come from... will they get evicted this month because they can't pay rent... and still we send help elsewhere. If you ask me this country really needs to wake up!! I understand that we need to help these other countries, and have no problem with that. But in all seriousness, sometimes you have to put yourself first.

On another note, there is only about a week and a half left until my daughter's angelversary. For those of you unaware of what that is... it's 1 year since she grew her angel wings and went to heaven. She was stillborn on Feb 8th 2009. I love her more than anything and miss her more than anyone who hasn't been in my shoes could ever know. I've dealt with depression on and off ever since I delivered her. I've noticed I'm getting more moody as her birthday draws closer. I have yet to decide what I want to do for her birthday... I'll figure something out.

That's all for now. Until next time.....

A Little Introduction

So I figured I'd start off with a little introduction.. let you get to know about the person behind the posts. I'm 26 years old and am from a small town in PA. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years, but after all we've been through it seems odd to say he's my boyfriend. My other half or significant other sure, but it seems that we've grown out of the boyfriend/girlfriend stage. He has a wonderful teenage son. Yes, I used the words 'wonderful' and 'teenage' in the same sentence! He really is a good kid. Very understanding and helpful. Together we have a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately before we ever really got to meet her we found out her little heart stopped beating. I was 37 weeks along and so close to my due date. After I delivered her we held her and had her baptised. She honestly looked like a sleeping angel. We had funeral services for her and laid her to rest on top of his father. This has been that hardest thing we've ever been through. So you can see why I said that after all we've been through the boyfriend/girlfriend labels seem very juvenile. Anyway...

I'm a volunteer firefighter. I joined the fire department about 5 years ago. Any guesses as to how I met the man in my life?! He's also a firefighter. He's been a member for about 10 years. He's currently Captain. I'm still more so in my rookie stages and need to get some more training under my belt, but I'm working on it. One day something just clicked and I decided to give it a try. The idea of helping people really appealled to me.

I work full time at a local gas station. I've been doing that for over 3 years now. It used to be a job that I didn't mind getting out of bed for. I worked with a bunch of my friends, everyone got along so well, and it was relatively stress free. The dynamic there has changed though. People have left, everyone complains about everyone else's work. I'd really like to find something new to do. For now though, it is a paycheck.

Well, I think that sums things up for now. Hopefully with this background information my posts will be easy to follow. Until next time.....
