This evening Boris Johnson appeared on the news-screen to inform the nation that a note had been delivered to Papa Nurgle’s ambassador, informing her that unless she undertook to stop spreading the zombie plague… something… something…. something…. no such assurance was received, and that consequently ‘Our’ NHS is at war with the virus (which cannot be named for reasons of censorship)….

You are free to die of ‘it’… just don’t talk about ‘it’…. it will spoil the heroic narrative being rolled out worldwide….

Being a patriotic humble satyr, my boots were half laced, to get down the recruiting office, in answer Matt Hancock’s call for volunteers: when it became apparent that my efforts were needed on the home front. For all loyal Briton’s are required, after donning their emergency hazmat John Bull costume, to entrench themselves within their place of residence and remain one barge pole length from all other persons for three weeks.

There was something about it all being over by Christmas… or maybe there wasn’t… because it was difficult to hear what Mr Johnson was saying, for at that moment Vera Lynn was singing the White Cliffs of Dover on the gramophone, the missus was busy nailing carbolic soaked blankets to the window frames and I was trying to clean red enamel paint from my naked body after my disastrous bath….

These new regulations are going to be very bad news for doggers though.

As people will no longer be able to congregate in groups of more than two (excluding one’s immediate household). Playgrounds are to be closed, though parks will remain open for the purpose of exercise. People will be allowed to go shopping for food and medicine. Oh, and the police will have the power to fine people caught outside without a good reason.

And just like that, we have entered the world of the Green New Deal. And no doubt there will soon be deer roaming the streets, and every Green addled nutcase will be saying how lovely it is, as foxes run riot mugging moped delivery riders depriving some old biddy of their Woolton kebab.

Of course there are those who object, claiming that this is the end of civilization as we knew it. And, it probably is.

But in the meantime it is probably best to enjoy the war because the peace will be worse…. (an odd year 1992)….

btw… can we stop with the nonsense of saying ‘our’ NHS… everyone knows that since Brown and Blair sold it off, via PFI, the government has very little control of what it does or how it runs.

Coronavirus Misinformation

If you believe the latest figures with regard to Coronavirus: the rate of new infections and related deaths is falling. Which on the face of it would suggest the crisis has peaked.

But frankly it is a big ‘if’, when the message from the other side of the same mouth is the new ‘normal’ that you must not believe fake information, and you must only believe reputable sources.

However, being a humble satyr, it should be pointed out these same ‘voices of truth’, are the same voices pushing the nonsense about ‘anti-Chinese racism’, and just wash your hands, and don’t worry about the plastic tat from China you bought your kids for Christmas (make a mental note of the date December 8th).

In addition to only believing ‘official news’, the ‘official voice’ wants you to lick your i-Phone, making sure you get into every nook and cranny with your tongue, and don’t worry because the virus only lasts two hours outside of the body…. stoopid Chinese…

As a humble satyr, who cares little for you mere mortals, with your media Gods and your pride; to see the humble Pangolin reduced to the status of an escaped goat is most amusing. It is almost like you aren’t listening. How dare you think you can escape the clutches of the death cult.

Excuse the disclaimer, but apparently some folks get alarmed that they are required to think about things they read (preferring the lecture and regurgitate method of discourse), and don’t like it when a humble satyr mixes in jokes (without holding up a clapper board), and something else they complain about… erm… meh who cares…. they’ve already stopped reading; and are frantically tippy tapping to voice their ‘displeasure’ that they were not warned of satyrical playfulness…

As of yesterday, the entire province of Liaoning, some 43 million people, were required to disinfect all areas at least twice a day, not hoard food, report strangers, not have relatives stay in their house, report the infected, and to spend 14 days in quarantine if they leave their village or city block, etc…

Which should give you an idea of what life is like for some 400 million people (some say 140 million) at this present moment….

Oh yes… and you remember the fires in Wuhan…. and people were wondering …. were they burning bodies in the streets? … were people rebelling? … were they burning down infected houses? ….

Well… it seems, the authorities are moving in to clear out people and send them into quarantine. Is this a petrol bomb being thrown? I would hope not, it hardly seems comradely to moi….

But don’t worry… everything is under control…

Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories

Yesterday, the Taiwan News had a story that suggested the number of those infected and dying of Coronovirus was higher than reported: the recovery rate was lower: and by implication WHO and the Chinese were being less than honest.

So cue the Daily Mail, who valiantly stepped in to dispel this ‘conspiracy theory’.

For as we know, Hong Kong Fluey — a.k.a 2019-nCoV — is nothing to worry about. Why it is no worse than the flu (which kills 10,000 Americans every year, don’t you know) (have you had your flu shot?). The problem with the Mail article is that it raises more questions than it answers.

Rather than get into the whole, “oh yeah well why are the Chinese authorities doing this…?” Let us assume, in order to ‘own the anti-vaxxers’, that indeed common or garden flu is the more serious threat.

The article cites Oxford University professor, Dr Peter Horby, who says, “ Most seasonal flu viruses have a case fatality rate of less than one in 1,000 people. Here we’re talking about a virus where we don’t understand fully the severity spectrum but it’s possible the case fatality rate could be as high as two per cent.”

According to Wikipedia (which is never wrong) the population of Wuhan is 11 million people. So let’s assume Coronavirus is just another strain of seasonal flu… and making allowance for the population dying of other things, and being ill for other reasons… 1% of 11 million is 110,000 (or so my calculator says).

Or four times the disputed figure of 24,589… taken from the ‘screenshot’ to build the ‘conspiracy theory’ around the figures shown on the Tencent website, five days ago.

So don’t worry it’s just (weak) flu…

And I for one fully support of the King of Morocco and the Moroccan authorities, who have jailed a woman for spreading the alarming news that staff at the Great Wall restaurant in Fez were wearing face masks. Apparently, the manager had a cold. And, as a further way of saying ‘Pork Balls’ to this racist stereotyping the manager is going to sue her.

‘Oh no’… you say… the 1% figure is for the total flu season, and according to current projections the outbreak has not yet peaked. And therefore the 24,589 figure could be (about) incorrect, even if could appear reasonable given a population figure of 11 million. Yeah, well, you are part of the problem. The real figure is 560 alright. Are you a doctor? No? Then shut up slave.

Speaking of medical staff, and why all this protective gear and face mask (irony alert) stuff is a scam, Caixin Global reports two thirds of staff at some hospitals are infected. Also according to the article…

“ National health experts set ridiculously strict criteria for diagnosing coronavirus cases against all advice — 40 medics infected in a hospital considered a low figure — In one ICU, 2/3 medics infected”

Of course if you have a sniffle (or don’t want one)… and the right wing doommongers on the internet have got you jumpy, with all this… erm… flu…nonsense, you can always check in at a quarantine station…. if they will have you…

Though maybe there is good reason to be jitty if these figures are correct: from Guangwan Community, in the Qingshan District, Wuhan. Which apparently show a 43% fatality rate… obviously optimists will point out that this is significantly lower than the 100% fatality rate associated with being alive….

Speaking of the would be lizard-king, I notice Prince Charles has appointed Katy Perry (yeah I don’t know who she is either) as an ambassador for the British Asian Trust. As if the Chinese are not suffering enough, Ms Perry took the opportunity to send them a message.

Now, you might think, ‘Oh Gawd not another celeb lecturing people.’ But it is actually quite a good business move on Ms Perry’s part. Because it turns out children are less susceptible to the… erm… flu… and her young fans are excited for entertainment.

Should it be the case that children are more likely to survive, this is clearly good news for eugenicist and misanthrope Greta Thunberg: and no doubt the rest of her death cult. Though sadly for them the outbreak of… erm… flu… has caused delays in the roll-out of the new Nintendo Switch.

Another scientist has popped his clogs. Peter Salama died on 23rd Jan…. heart attack, they say….

Remember what Dr Peter Horby said, about the fatality rate could be as high as 2%. Well the reason for that is it was the fatality rate of Spanish flu.

Report Says Thousands Killed By Coronavirus in China

According to Taiwan News the actual number of deaths in China from Coronavirus is 24,589.

They claim…

“ On late Saturday evening (Feb. 1), Tencent, on its webpage titled “Epidemic Situation Tracker”, showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.”

But don’t panic, because the main concern elsewhere is not people welded into their houses, or being escorted by police through the streets in chains, or even the banning of all public gatherings: no… and nor is it being dragged out of your home to be shipped off for quarantine…

No, the main priority is what to call this…. erm… ‘flu’… as the current official nom de guerre is 2019-nCoV; which isn’t as catchy as Black Death.

I would suggest Hong Kong Fluey… but apparently that sort of thing is frowned upon these days. In fact ‘racism is the real virus’ (if you believe idiots). #ImNotAVirus is a thing. And, is as pointless as the accompanying street art, stupid ‘jokes’ and spurious ‘hate crimes’.

Never one to miss the chance to leap on his sanctimonious horse, (one time journalist), John Pilger in the space of three days has gone from bleating about racism to demanding ‘the west’ send help. Which is a bit rich, seeing as the official death toll is 494, everything is under control, and it has clearly escaped his virtue signaling range that aid is being sent.

Oddly it is the ‘be nice’ brigade, in addition to their ‘racism purity testing’ who also tend to be the type to say shit like, ‘it’s just flu’… or ‘flu is more dangerous’. And indeed Mr Pilger (without irony) is one such… (and say a prayer for the girl in the link).

Well forgive me, and I am no expert, but I don’t recall the council hiring cement mixers to spray ‘Lysol’ everywhere the last time there was a flu outbreak. And again I’m no expert, but is flu something mothers pass to babies? Maybe it is and midwives just don’t bother to mention it… however two weeks ago (when this was nothing to worry about) Mike Graham on LBC, spoke to a chap in Wuhan who said that pregnant women were being advised to have an abortion. Which is all perfectly normal in cases of flu… I suppose….

As for who is to blame…

The Russians say it is a planned attack on the Chinese. And Russian scientists are saying it was the Americans. Bloomberg and Alex Jones are blaming the Chinese… Baba Vanga (were she not dead) would probably blame the Muslims… and just when everyone is beginning to agree that this is some kind of bio-weapon: and pulling out a conspiracy handbook, and trying to link Lynn de Rothschild with the Knights of Malta….

To add a bit of spice to the mix, not only was Dr Plummer linked to the lab which was the centre of various Chinese spy scandals, but he had brain surgery to implant electrodes to control is ‘alcohol misuse disorder’….

We could speculate about kill switches, or the Kenya connection, or a whole manner of other things….

But, what is weird, given the current goings on, is that the death of Dr Plummer — AIDs reasercher, a man who helped develop the cure for H1N1 and SARS — is only deemed news worthy in Canada.

And what is it about Canada?

Last month they had a load of scientists killed in a Ukrainian jet ‘crash’… now they being implicated in stolen viruses, and have a dead AIDS researcher.

If they are not careful Canadians will find themselves interesting.

Coronavirus Spreading, But Rumours Contained

Brick Up All Windows and Doors, Just To Be On The Safe Side

Which is clearly a perfectly reasonable response. As is the new policy of repeatedly punching a woman in the face. Death is the punishment for spreading the virus internationally or setting up road blocks, or blocking transportation systems… a bit of a Catch 21 situation there (don’t you think)….

As is the problem that the virus — even when cured — can reoccur…. don’t ask how I know, you’ll just have to shout ‘liar’ for a week, or so, until the ‘media’ gets round to finding out stuff… some infected people have relapsed three and four times. But on the bright side there is an actual cure, in the sense of the disease stops reoccurring, you just have to put up with organ damage.

Speaking of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, spare a thought for the bus drivers who transported 83 people from RAF Brize Norton to be quarantined on the Wirrel, Merseyside: a journey of 179 miles.

It seems a bus driver in Japan has caught the virus showing Chinese tourists the sights. And in Wuhan, He Hui, a volunteer driver for medical staff, has died. But don’t panic, the buses used to transport the people 179 miles have been thoroughly cleaned, and those using them will find no Opal Fruits wrappers… yay they have brought back the lemon ones….

Having condemned myself to 15 years for pointing out the above… I feel it my duty to stand in solidarity with the Philippine Senator, Tito Sotto, who “despite credible information” decided to play a YouTube video in parliament that blames George Soros, Bill Gates and the CIA for the outbreak… or to put it another way… to blame those behind the impeachment of Donald J Trump.

Not that there is any truth in Mr Sotto’s claims. It is a wild conspiracy. Everybody knows Alex Jones said it was Trump who released the virus, and not, as vertically-challenged Bloomberg news would have you believe, an accident.

On second thoughts, I won’t stand with Mr Sotto. In fact I will distance myself from him. There is a no evidence that Bill Gates wants a reduction in world population. And, George Soros is a lovely man. And, this ‘flu’ is no laughing matter. It’s very serious…

We only have twelve years left to live, unless we change our ways and adopt the Green future. If only the Chinese government would cut their greenhouse gas emissions… if only there were some way… if only Greta’s dreams were not being snatched from her by all those evil old people….

Speaking of India, I notice they have adopted a thoroughly racist policy of cancelling all visas (so get out) for anyone who has been to China recently. What can they be thinking? I mean it’s just the flu. And look at how healthy the Indians currently in quarantine are.

Kerala — a place most Americans can’t find on a map — has declared an emergency. And, told anyone who has been to China not to leave their homes for 28 days…. a bit of a Catch 23 situation there (don’t you think)…

Now you might think that being locked up in your own home for 28 days would be annoying. But it turns out the Chinese are loving it.

Coronavirus May Be Serious

As the world holds it’s breath, for fear of coughing a lung up through it’s nose, social media companies companies are doing the responsible thing by suppressing fake news.

But there is no need to panic, for there are only 17,000 cases of the disease in China: of which only 361 people have died. We needn’t bother with the details: like only counting the cases in hospitals. Forget about the dead who have been cremated, or what is going on in the welded up houses. It’s fine.

Everyone is most excited to hear about the speed and efficiency with which the Chinese have built a hospital in Wuhan. It’s got all the mod cons: MRI machine, bars on the windows, and a guard post with an armed guard and a dog catchers pole to help the out-patients (or would be out patients).

But on no account must people spread false information. It’s just the flu, and it is perfectly normal for the Chinese government to bedeck the streets with artificial fog: and anyone who says different is a racist.

Talking of normal, the Chair of Harvard University Chemistry department, Prof Charles Lieber was arrested. Apparently Prof Lovely was a naughty boy by not declaring his work at the Wuhan University of Technology. Of course this has nothing to do with the Chinese Researchers in Canada…. turn off the 5G… sorry…. wrong researchers… how many Chinese researchers are there in Canada?

Oh wait…maybe they weren’t in Canada… they get everywhere these damned Chinese… oh and while I look for that link… The British are looking for some 4000 Chinese people (or it might have been 400)… no wait…. forget that, New York is sending the virus to the Swiss…

But don’t worry, US Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar…. he has been transparent about what he doesn’t know *cough* about the virus…. and he is going to go to China to help the spread… prevent the spread….

Not that you should pay attention to that… not if you know what is good for you… as Zerohedge found out on Twitter, when they got banned for linking to a research paper… a quite wrong headed, and totally fake paper… that appeared to suggest the virus in China is manufactured. Apparently HIV (the original version) was mixed with the Coronavirus. Either that or some funky bats with the sniffles had a sex party shortly before getting eaten.

But don’t try saying that in Canada…. unless you have a licence…

Tree Vaguely Recalls When Labour Didn’t Pull This Stunt With Three Days to Go to The Election

Alright no one is asking the last question.

But given that Sarah Williment is a ‘ primary school learning mentor’ (whatever that is) and perhaps a school governor, I do find myself wondering how she doesn’t know that for the past three weeks a number of school’s in the area have been shut because of a virus. A number of other schools have been on the brink of closing because of the same virus.

Ergo, it is not surprising that the NHS would be ‘struggling to cope’. Whether that amounts, as Ms Williment’s claim to “ The NHS is in crisis.” I remain skeptical.

For I wonder if these outbreaks of Norovirus are related to the ongoing practice of Yorkshire Water pumping raw sewage into the rivers. And there is also flu going around (which may or may not be related to flu vaccinations spreading live flu virus everywhere).

But I’m guessing it is not such a sexy story for the Mirror front page as a four year old posed like the girl in the red coat from Schindler’s List.

Still best keep quiet about the bed closures on the respiratory ward at St Jimmies due to staff shortages…. as that would get us involved in complicated discussions about zero hours contracts and agency staff.

I shan’t tell you what the missus said… she looked at the picture and said, “what sort of mother lays her child down flat if she thinks it has pneumonia?” She’s a heartless woman, my missus.

If Labour Lose, It Will Be Their Racism to Blame #noagenda

I remain to be convinced that the ‘Red Wall’ will collapse on Thursday.

Though certainly there are indications that it might. Prof John Curtice was on the Andrew Marr show hedging his bets with regard to the way tactical voting might swing. Mathew Goodwin seems more sure, And the papers are full of stories as to the jockeying for position as to who should replace Jeremy Corbyn (if they lose).

It is a sign of how low the party has sunk that Jess Phillips’ name gets mentioned… Sargon had best flee the country… but then I suppose every race should have a joke candidate.

And let’s face it, if this is true, Labour will need someone with better policies than Jess Phillips’ of locking everyone up, making it a crime to be ugly in public and playing the victim.

Before continuing I do recommend listening to everyone’s favourite Uncle Monty, David Starkey, and his assessment of the rotten parliament that led to the current election.

Paul Embury thinks he knows Labour’s problem, and Gloria de Piero appearing on the Marr show, (link above), is of the opinion that the membership is too posh.

(Obviously this is not ‘too posh to push’, as under a Labour government abortion would be ‘encouraged’. Though people talking about it will be criminalised, and no one should talk about the trade in body parts)

Though I suspect those seeking explanation for a Labour loss may be looking in the wrong place.

How many people remember when Sarah Champion was criticised for writing in the Sun, ‘British Pakistani men ARE raping and exploiting white girls… and it’s time we faced up to it’.

I’m not sure who the ‘we’ was in the headline, but it certainly wasn’t the Labour party. First they attacked her for writing in the Sun, then they attacked her for being racist, and then they just attacked her. Until a week later she was claiming to have been misquoted, and then resigned (or was forced to resign) as the Shadow equality minister.

And to show how in touch with Red Wall voters Labour are, Sarah Champion was replaced with Dawn Butler.

Just to place this into further context.

Rotherham was a scandal in which the Labour council turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse and exploitation of thousands of girls, and boys, (often in council care). The issue was so toxic to the Labour party, and remains so, that a previous local Labour MP, Dennis McShane, (before he was convicted and imprisoned for fraud) admitted that he chose not to look into it.

And it wasn’t just one scandal, similar things were happening all over the country: Oxford, Telford, Bradford, Keighley, to name but a few places.

So to replace the MP for Rotherham, Sarah Champion, with the Brent Central MP, Dawn Butler, was as brain-dead as it was tone-deaf.

Fine, they didn’t want this embarrassing story brought up again. Particularly when the Labour party was actively working to suppress inquiries elsewhere.

Fuck white kids, we’ve got a black woman… that is Labour’s mantra… and black people suffer racism don’t you know? Yeah well so do white people at the hands of the Labour party. Because let’s face it, if these kids had been any other colour than white, the Labour party would have been all over this… blaming the Tories… setting up commissions…. heck if they had been gypsies or Irish, Labour might have shown a bit of interest. But no.

As far as fat old smiley Dawn Butler is concerned, ((allegedly) probably), the issue was that there was not enough BAME representation in the raped kids. (Though actually there was, as I pointed out while helping police with a cold case inquiry in another Labour council, when people were finally allowed to talk about this issue after Andrew Norfolk’s reporting: without Hope not Hate endlessly harassing them) Because more BAME is Labour’s answer to everything.

Let’s see what Dawn Butler had to say in her conference speech…

“ All the teachers, academics, race and equality professions, and other experts. We are not afraid of experts unlike the Tories.”

Now I don’t want to pick on Dawn Butler because she is just another racist idiot in a party of racist idiots. And no doubt in the way of these things, she is not the person responsible, but then very few of the racist idiots in the Labour party are responsible people…. certainly not those on the front bench.

Because in today’s Observer is the shocking story of Laura (not her real name). And I wanted to highlight Dawn Butler’s comment because of something very particular.

But first to outline the story.

Laura lives in Sheffield. Sheffield has a Labour council, and is one of Labour’s rotten boroughs. Laura’s mother, Susan (not her real name), had herself been abused as a child, and unable to cope with her daughters behaviour placed her in care.

“ while living at the children’s home Laura was able to come and go as she pleased, despite often showing signs of having been abused when she returned. Those exploiting the teenager were allegedly able to call for her in taxis sent to the home.”

Does this have a familiar ring? This is why I use Ms Butler’s quote about experts, because these are Labour experts, working for a Labour council, who are apparently so expert at there job they are completely unaware of what had gone on in Labour Rotherham: 6 miles away.

But wait Ms Butler’s experts aren’t for this purpose, I hear you cry. They are not for protecting children, who for the sake of diversity should shut up about being sexually exploited. Ms Butler’s…

“ Labour government will unite our country with positive policies. We will also tackle the rise of the far-right and launch an independent review into the spread of hard right extremism.”

Now don’t laugh, Ms Butler clearly has no idea why branding everyone outraged by the events in Rotherham as far right: or anyone who voted to Leave as a far right: or anyone pointing out that she is a useless poseur, as far right: or indeed why her party branding her predecessor Sarah Champion, as far right; might lead to the increase of the ‘far right’. I wanted to get to this bit of Ms Butler’s speech…

Yes that’s right whitey: reparations. Bonkers Dawn Butler, who only got her job because her party is so racist they can’t deal with brown skinned English men (I do so loath the whole Asian nomenclature) raping, pimping out, human-trafficking, kidnapping, and occasionally murdering young women, and boys. And to prove just how racist the Labour party is, well they ain’t giving none of that money to you whitey — your ancestor might have been up a chimney, down a mine, dying of throat cancer in the cotton mills but you ain’t getting none of that money…. just come home… vote… and then piss off again… oh and die if possible, if you are old… preferably on a trolley in a hospital corridor so the Mirror can run headlines about how it is the Tories fault….

Because under big-brain-Butler (who knows you Northern fascists are gunna vote Labour, like the whipped white dogs you are)(it doesn’t matter if you’re not white, in Dawn Butler’s head you are, and you need to be taught a lesson)…

I mention this because Labour’s big thing, beyond inciting racial hatred, is money. They are forever going on about how much money is needed if services are to improve. Thus it is important to bleed money out of the economy for reparations (for the few, not the many), to make sure we have to spend even more money to improve services.

But let’s go back to the story of Laura (not her real name)…. and no I don’t know Laura is white, but I strongly suspect it or the Observer would not be going out of their way to avoid mentioning race (which they nomally do at every possible occasion)….

“it took months for authorities to sit up and take notice”, and by the time they did, the then 14-year-old “had been sexually exploited by over 40 adults”. According to the family, social services “turned a blind eye” to the abuse, and they claim that South Yorkshire police failed to take any meaningful action to pursue those exploiting the girl.”

And I haven’t got to the shocking bit yet…

“ Laura’s trauma was so severe that she had to be taken out of the children’s home and placed in secure accommodation for a year. At the end of that year she was sent back to the same children’s home and “within days of being there” the cycle of sexual exploitation had started for a second time. At one point Susan gave the police the names of 21 suspects — but, she claims, police did little to investigate. Only one of the suspects was questioned, belatedly, and officers are said to have accepted his word when he said he thought Laura was 18. At the time she was 14.”

So a Labour council, six miles away from where the exact same thing was going on in another Labour council, has learned nothing. And the Labour, police commissioner, Dr Allan Billings, is overseeing the same police force who also appear to have learned nothing.

Obviously it is Tory cuts. I mean when you have a list of 21 names, of people alleged to have had sex with a 14 year old girl, and one of them says I thought she was 18, well that’s fine. I mean it’s not like it is exactly the same thing as happened in Rotherham. But it’s the Tories fault.

But now we get to the experts, because as we know it’s the Tories fault that mental health services are in the state they are in (it has nothing to do with the changes of @2007 that imposed CBT, forced drugging, and caused Fran Lyon to flee the country). If only more money could be spent, we could hire more experts like these in the psychiatric hospital to which Laura (not her real name) was sent after trying to commit suicide…

“The level of care and supervision she has received at [the hospital] has been appalling and she has been [treated] worse than an animal. She attempted suicide by taking an overdose twice in four days and still she wasn’t monitored. Currently she is being kept in segregation to keep her safe. She has been held in a room for five weeks with only a mat to sleep on and a toilet. She is being guarded by three to four males from agencies that do not interact with her.”

Where is Dawn Butler when all of this is going on?

I only ask because when Sarah Champion did Ms Butler’s job she used to bring up stuff like this. Sometimes she would use imaginative means to do so, like going to the Sun. That is when she wasn’t protesting for Gaza with disgraced councillors.

Anyway, let’s see what the authorities have to say…

“Sheffield city council was asked to comment on a number of specific allegations relating to its dealings with Laura, but declined to do so. John Macilwraith, the council’s executive director for people services, said staff always acted when alerted to cases of child sexual abuse.

The psychiatric hospital similarly declined to comment.

South Yorkshire police said that a coordinated investigation was under way in relation to Laura.

A spokesman added: “As part of this, hundreds of documents have been compiled and reviewed, multiple witness accounts have been taken, a number of searches have taken place and a total of 13 people have been arrested.”

Because here is an odd thing. If you look at that list of seats doing the rounds on Twitter (with southern Labour lefties begging dimwit northern monkeys to vote Labour), it is noticeable how many of those places have been through this…. or something very similar.

And the sad thing is this only only the tip of the iceberg.

But at least Labour are addressing the issue, and offering liberal abortion laws so you do have an escape route for your children.

Girl Guides Sell Jo Swinson Muffins #noagenda

The Girl Guides ( Reg. Charity Number 306016) has decided to step into the election. And Jo Swinson ( UK Charity Number 1112842) showing all her political skill by retweeting their intervention.

According to to Girl Guides…

“ The descriptions of Jo Swinson as ‘bossy’ and being like a ‘head girl’ are sexist. This should not be happening in 2019.

I wonder what badges the dull girls, who lack the adventure to join the Scouts, can get?

Campaiging, that sounds exciting, what is that? Joining a band of ruffians to go on chauvanchee in Kurdistan to secure pipeline access — oh it’ s writing letters on a very narrow range of topics, that someone told them they must be ‘committed’ to. Great.

Concious Consumer, more being told what to do. How about Personal Brand? So that’s a badge for glue sniffers, at least that’s something different. Human Rights, more being told what to think.

Not that it matters because it will be more of the same silliness of telling girls and young women what they must think.

So it comes as no surprise that the Girl Guides should take it upon themselves to try and tell the rest of us what to think. Nor that Jo Swinson, who doesn’t think much, would like the idea that somehow it is all a vast sexist conspiracy that people don’t want to vote for her.

Nor should it come as a surprise that the Girl Guides should choose to illustrate their premenstrual whinging with an article from inews, from four days ago, based on Jo Swinson saying,

“ Jo Swinson has hit out at descriptions of her as “schoolmarmish”, “bossy” and being like a “head girl” as sexist.”

So what the Girl Guides are saying is that Jo Swinson in 2019 shouldn’t be saying these things, and that in 2019 Jo Swinson shouldn’t be happening- a sentiment shared by many within the Liberal Democrats.

And if they are saying this, then I am sure we can all agree that Jo Swinson is likely to put off 34% of girls from going into politics… if not more.

Of course when Girl Guides reach the real world, where they won’t get a badge for eating sweets, they might find there are other more tangible reasons for why they are excluded from entering politics. But don’t let facts get in the way, these bright young things have got letters to write protesting Putin’s plastic homophobia.

But clearly the Girl Guides have little influence on the Labour party. For they have been attacking Jo Swinson on her record in the coalition government. No doubt the Momentum puppets have got their equivalent of the Corbyn Woodcraft Folk politics badge.

A particular gripe of theirs is Jo Swinson’s role in the issue of Tuition Fees.

It is only a matter of time before Jo Swinson retweets the Girl Guides highlighting an article in inews based on a Jo Swinson quote that it is sexist to attack her on the issue of tuition fees. Because as a Scottish MP she shouldn’t be voting on purely English matters.

And for once I agree with her.

It is sexist.

Ever since Blair made a dog’s breakfast of Devolution people have been pointing out the inequity of Scottish MPs voting on English matters, for which they are accountable to no one.

So to blame spiky fingered, hand waving, gappy toothed, bosomy, faux nanny, Jo Swinson for this is just wrong: and sexist. And it is about time the Girl Guides got onto the case.

Certainly the cadres in Northern England will be aware of Scottish Universities recruiting English students at open days to study north of the border, so the Scottish education system can draw yet more money out of England, via student fees, to make up the shortfall in funding caused by SNP mismanagement.

Though it is doubtful, given that the Girl Guides are based in Buckingham Palace Road, that the northern cadres would dare be accused of being right wing by the Londoncentric ruling junta. And will no doubt observe the diktats and stick purely to trivialities, and not real politics.

John Major today appealed to young voters, saying, “ Brexit is the ‘worst foreign policy decision’ he has witnessed in his lifetime.”

The reason he has to say this to young voters is that they won’t remember, as apparently John Major doesn’t remember, (or perhaps he does, and had his hands over his eyes like a wise monkey: thus not witnessing) the ERM debacle.

Young Voters Pop Their Corks For Blair

When Europhile Prime Minister, John Major, pegged the Pound to a basket of European currencies in order to harmonise economic policies throughout the EU. This resulted in Black Wednesday. When the whole scheme collapsed, costing the treasury some £3billion, but not before interest rates reached 15%.

Obviously to young voters, living in the age of Blairite inflation, £3billion doesn’t seem a lot of money, and 15% interest rates is meaningless. So Mr Major can probably trick them.

He might even get away with their not knowing that he is responsible for the Brexit vote, by yet another of his disastrous foreign policy decisions: namely the Maastricht treaty.

Dear old John, with his shirt tucked in his underpants, was determined to be at the heart of Europe. And with public opinion being relatively favourable to Europe, off he went, and back he came with the treaty.

Now stop me, younger voters, if any of this sounds familiar.

The treaty he came back with was widely opposed. The Labour party were broadly in favour, but for narrow electoral reasons they decided to adopt a policy of constructive opposition. By which they would allow the treaty to pass through the Commons, but would only do so by inflicting as much damage on the government as possible.

And those in parliament, who cared about things such as sovereignty and democracy duly rose to the challenge to oppose the treaty at every turn. With the result that the only way the legislation could get through the House was because the Speaker, Betty Boothroyd, broke the Commons’ rules.

Oh, and as a direct result of Mr Major’s ‘triumph’, public opinion swung against the EU, and has remained firmly against it ever since. Oh, and his party was virtually destroyed.

But that’s right kiddies, you get taken in by nice old John, I’m sure he can tell you all about the time students used to get grants: just don;t ask him about the massive hole in the public finances his Euromania created that meant we had to say bye-bye to such nice things.

Clearly the polls have got the Blairites (and his Bilderberg backers) worried.

For we learn today that associate member of the Atlantic Council, ex-British ambassador to Georgia, horse impressionist, and apparent Hillarybot, Alexandra Hall Hall (so good they named her twice) has sent a letter of resignation to CNN.

To those following the Russianphobic tale of those trying to keep Hillary out of jail, it should come as no surprise that the ex-British ambassador to Georgia should chose to flounce out of her current role as ‘the embassy’s ‘Brexit counsellor’, in this manner.

The Democrats bungled Impeachment pursuit, and their nonsensical story, has in recent days caused numerous news sites, of all political stripe, to illustrate their coverage with the picture of Boris Johnson and Prof Mifsud.

Given the innate Anglo-phobia of Americans, they tend to crop the picture to omit Prasenjit Kumar Singh, in order to somehow implicate Mr Johnson in the dual conspiracy of Russiagate and Ukrainegate. I am somewhat skeptical of this picture, for a number of reasons, the principle one being the sudden gossip about Mr Johnson’s amorous lifestyle.

No doubt there are some who will go further and link the flight of Mr Trump from the NATO summit, and Mr Johnson being involved in the schoolgirl gossip.

Personally, I prefer to tug at the threads of Georgia, CNN, and the whistleblower’s lawyer.

CNN, being bad liars (though they try ever so hard) rather give the game away when they say, “ Johnson has been ahead in opinion polls, but, as his lead has narrowed in recent days, officials are nervous about anything that could undermine his chances of winning a parliamentary majority for his Conservative party.”

The polls have not narrowed in recent days. Though I can forgive CNN given this kind of talk is their business model during American elections: drawing in campaign funds to get them to run native ads on behalf of one party or the other.

The only thing conclusion I am tempted to draw from this turn of events is that the polls might be accurate. And the establishment are desperate for a hung parliament, in order to kill Brexit in kangaroo courts.

As if we didn’t know this already.

More Racial Hate Pumped into the Labour Excuse Machine #noagenda

The Guardian just can’t stop itself being racist. Yesterday they had an article by Omar Khan posing the question, ‘The polls are ignoring a crucial factor in this election: minority voters’.

At best it was mood music for dopey liberal woman, to give them yet more information to misrepresent, in order than they can muscle in to ‘share the pain’.

The Type of Multiculturalism Liberals Don’t Like

Curiously Mr Khan’s article gives no evidence that ‘minority’ voters are not represented in the opinion polls. But he does make this rather odd claim…

“ Journalists don’t see ethnicity breaks in polls, and even at a constituency level are not addressing the possibility that the pronounced Labour-lean among ethnic minority voters might be affecting outcomes.”

Because, as we know, (if we are living in the racist world of the Guardian) the polling companies only ever ask ‘huwhyte’ people about their voting intentions. In fact, I have it on good authority that when polling firms send people out to canvas opinion they are issued with a colour chart, and ordered not solicit the views of anyone of a darker skin-tone than French — albino Jamaicans and mulattos are acceptable so long as they are voting Tory.

Of course we shouldn’t ignore the possibly that in fact the polls are entirely correct, and the only people voting Labour are students, the guilt ridden middle classes, anti-Semites and ‘minorities’.

And being as this is a racist article in a a racist newspaper, we of course have to get onto the subject of racism…

“ We can see the low level of interest in the way that racism is discussed generally, as an attribute of individuals, or as part of a sensationalist story about celebrities, rather than as a systemic or institutional issue with deep historical roots in our society.”

What like the Runymede Trust producing unsubstantiated claims of racial bias in polling data?

No I correct myself, because Mr Khan does have proof of the bias.

“ Where are the vox pops with young black voters? Where are the editorials about the “genuine concerns” of Asian working-class men?”

And what does Mr Khan mean by “genuine concerns”?

Of course we know what Mr Khan means, he is a member of the ultimate Anywhere class, the tax-free charity leach. What he means is the “genuine concerns” of the Asian (when does someone born in Britain stop being Asian?) working class man, who agrees with Mr Khan’s prejudice.

The 1 in 3 ‘minority’ voters that voted for Brexit, they don’t count. Well actually they do, they by some force of magic get shifted into the column of the white, racist, knuckle-draggers.

As for the ‘young black voters’ not being seen in vox pops. Either Mr Khan is ignorant of how TV current affairs programs are made, or is being disingenuous. Everybody, who bothers to look, knows that news is manufactured and not reported.

The editor sends out a tellydolly to find someone who confirms the narrative. In commercial television it will be to please the advertisers: on the BBC it will be to confirm whatever whim happens to be the fashion of the day (as culled from the letters page, editorials, and sometimes comment sections of a select few publications). If your face, or your opinion, doesn’t match the requirements, then it doesn’t get shown.

What the hell does Mr Khan expect? Journalists to do some work?

However, the most depressing thing about Mr Khan’s racist screed is this…

“ This is both a question of basic data, but perhaps more importantly about understanding the nature of ethnic minority communities in today’s Britain, and of racism. Even without data we have no shortage of journalists touring the country and meeting voters, but there’s been little curiosity about ethnic minorities and their views about Brexit, racism, the NHS or the economy — or anything much at all.”

No Mr Khan this is not true. And no matter how much you repeat it, it will not make it true.

Much as you want a segregated society, and a narrative that somehow Labour is losing because of racism, it doesn’t wash.

It may come as a shock to you, but ‘minorities’ are not the Borg. They are individuals. And even more shocking is that a ‘young black voter’ will find their opinion reflected as often in a vox pop of a ‘batty old white woman’ as the ‘batty old white woman’ will find their opinion reflected in a vox pop of a ‘young black voter’…. i.e. probably not at all, because vox pops are every bit as fake news as sound-bites, native advertising, and Guardian opinion pieces.

Gravestone, From a Yet Unknown Political Grave

Another story I found mildly interesting, but will have little effect, is the news that the South West Norfolk Conservative candidate had his election papers signed by Dennis Pearce. Mr Pearce is the brother of football pundit, and ponyboy, Stuart Pearce.

So what? I hear you say.

Well, Dennis Pearce was the BNP candidate for South West Norfolk in the EU elections of 2009, and the 2010 General Election.

Seemingly the themes of redemption preached in the wake of London Bridge attack don’t apply in this case. I cannot confirm if Mr Pearce is in Norfolk to further the aims of the British motor industry.

Speaking of Roderick Spode, according to Andrew Hawkins, of polling firm Savanta Comres, in the Sun, “ He thinks people will be shocked, however, of how little an impact anti-Semitism in the Labour Party will have.”… on the election result.

Guido Fawkes has been stirring the pot on this subject again today.

I can’t say I am surprised that the subject of Labour’s anti-Semitism will have little impact. Labour have been a racist party for years, and will continue to be so regardless of what the EHRC decides.

It remains to be seen if Jeremy Corbyn embracing Sheikh Raed Salah, who said, “ We have never allowed ourselves to knead [the dough for] the bread that breaks the fast in the holy month of Ramadan with children’s blood”, will play well in Norwich.

A story that has not been played up in the media, but has caused much hilarity among students of professor Abbott, is the news that her son, James, whom she sent to private school to keep him out of the hands of black gangs, has been arrested for biting one police officer, and spitting at another.

Ms Abbott has been keeping a low profile during the election campaign, perhaps because she has a tendency to open her gob and say stuff. It is somewhat surprising, given that if Labour wins she will be the Home Secretary, that she instructed solicitors to prevent the Telegraph reporting on proceedings when her son appeared before magistrates.

Her son used to work at the British embassy in Rome.

Elsewhere, everyone’s favourite conspiracy theorist (after Alex Jones and David Icke) Carol Cadwalldr was in the High Court defending herself in libel trial brought by Arron Banks, benefactor of the Brexit Party.

I can’t help feeling that Putinphobic Carol might be on a bit of a sticky wicket. Since it is barely two weeks since she was on Twitter telling everyone who would listen that she had the data from Mr Banks’ hacked phone. And would be checking carefully to see if Putin, or anyone else vaguely Russian, had been ringing him.

Many have questioned Ms Cadwalldr’s sanity, and I find myself wondering how crazy to do you have to be to openly boast about handling stolen data, when facing an upcoming libel trial?

My guess is crazy enough to believe the Trump Impeachment trial.

While we are on the subject of crazy, I have been enjoying various foreign utubers trying to explain, or give commentary on, what is happening in the UK elections.

Aside from their apparent complete misunderstanding of the process, or indeed the nature of the First Past the Post system, my merriment levels increased at comparisons between Jeremy Corbyn and Bernie Sanders, and Boris Johnson and Donald Trump. I wouldn’t be so bold as to suggest there are no similarities, but I would suggest it is lazy, and more than a little self serving to say so

However, I am more startled by the admiration shown for Nigel Farage.

I do not deny his role in Brexit. But equally I recall him as a rather embarrassed chap standing beside Robert Killroy-Silk, way back in the day, while the latter was ranting about Muslims.

Frankly I am astonished at suggests, by some, that Mr Farage could become Prime Minister. If only because he appears unable to form a workable party, as demonstrated by the defections today.

Though perhaps my greatest levels of smug enjoyment come from these utube experts attempts at predicting the result. This isn’t a normal election, it is being carried out in the winter(so the weather may be a factor), and despite signals that Labour voters may swing Tory — I am not convinced.

If that does happens, and this is my hunch, it will be on much larger scale than the polls are showing.

Labour Wonder Why #noagenda

For those not paying attention to the UK General Election, they may not have noticed a second election campaign running concurrrently: namely the battle within the Labour party for who should be the leader.

Over the past week or so, there has been increasing speculation on the question of if Corbyn wasn’t the leader where would the party be in the polls. Various names have been thrust forward, Keir Starmer being most often mentioned. But according to long time Corbyn critic Rachel Reeves, the new leader should be a woman. A theme picked up by ex-Tory Nick Boles.

Rainy Days, and Corbyn, Always Get Me Down

Matters are further complicated by the Tory party sending out a letter on behalf of Ian Austin, urging decent Labour voters not to vote for the party.

This argument predates the current General Election, and is in some sense not surprising given that the two papers most in support of Labour are the Mirror and the Guardian: in the words of Jim Hacker, “the Mirror is read by people who think they run the country, the Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country.”

Hey-ho, it’s not for me to say…

Meet Emma Pencheon, self entitled, over privileged know-all. Who the chances are, will never pay a single penny of tax in her life. I don’t deny, she does an important job: as a doctor. But I find it frankly odd that she feels the need to lecture others about poverty, but doesn’t seem to understand that those people are in poverty (among other reasons) because the money is being spent to pay her wages .

For as we know, if we are to believe the current narrative, she as a junior doctor (I think she said) is getting £80,000 a year. Well maybe she’s not. Which makes me wonder why she isn’t correcting this mis-information, rather than blathering on with Labour talking points that make a) no sense and b) win no votes.

The NHS isn’t going to be sold to the Americans — not in the way she is claiming.

And Ms Pencheon wittering on in her faux accent, (as if somehow she understands from reading poverty porn in the Guardian or the Independent), may feed her dopamine addiction through comments about her being ‘so brave’, but it clearly isn’t cutting it with the voters: if the polls are to be believed.

I suspect this would be the case regardless of the leader, because the message Labour are selling only applies if you live in Labour-land.

For instance, the issue with trains is not the ticket price (the price is what it is) but rather not knowing if you are going to get fined.

And claiming that the usage of food banks has increased by four thousand million per cent since 2009, or whatever, is all very well. Except there weren’t many food banks in 2009.

And it doesn’t take a genius to work out that if you drive up the price of heating by switching to inefficient and expensive green energy, then people will be skint. Yes, yes I know, if we produced cheaper electric with coal fired power plants, or nuclear, the phone-ins on radio stations would be packed out with asthmatics complaining they can’t leave their homes. It’s best we stick to the plan of waiting to get rich when the coal seams turn to diamonds.

Still one things for sure, if Labour lose Ms Pencheon will be out of the streets with the rest of her reedy friends, hoping to become a great thinker like Laurie Penny.

In yet another stunning bit of vote losing, (IRA man) John McDonnell has come out with the extraordinary claim that under Labour ‘families’ will save £6,700 a year.

You might wonder what the hell he’s talking about, since Labour are committed to spending something like £400billion, which will no doubt lead to inflation and devaluation of the pound. I would add the current national debt, but exact figures are hard find.

“ In a dossier to be published alongside the speech, McDonnell will claim that Labour policies including nationalising utilities and reducing the cost of rail season tickets would put £6,700 in the coffers of the average household.”

Now while I agree, in principle, with re-nationalisation. It should be pointed out that Labour’s figure of £6,700 is the best case scenario. It doesn’t factor in the strikes that will inevitably occur, due to renegotiation of employment contracts. Nor does it explain how they are going nationalise sectors of industries, for instance energy, currently held as part of nationalised industries in other countries.

And that is completely ignoring the fact that if the second referendum goes against them, and there is no Brexit/Lexit, there will be no savings at all because they will not be allowed to re-nationalise.

Of course if Labour were serious, which we all know they are not, they would re-nationalise the Bank of England, and bring monetary policy back under the responsibility of ministers.

No doubt, economists would throw up their hands. But regardless of the economic consequences it would at a stroke make politics more serious. Instead of wasting time on pointless debates and policy, members of parliament would be forced to address real issues, and be held liable for the consequences of their actions.

It is perhaps a sign of how little politics actually matter to the Labour party that they find themselves trapped in a loveless marriage between the Blairites and Momentum, with a voting base consisting of an Anywhere class, leaching off the poor, and those too proud to ever switch votes.

With a week to go, to actual voting (and counting) only a fool would predict the result.

But I suspect things are worse in the Labour party than they seem on the surface. Unleashing Laura (I’m sure you’ll agree) Pidcock to push the message is a sign of desperation.

Well yes… if you ignore that everything surrounding it, the things that aren’t free, are expensive, the staff are generally rude, the care is ‘meh’, and in order to get the response that people ‘love it’, you have to constantly scare them that they will have to pay for something that they know is ‘meh’ (at best)… rather like Scotland.

So who is it tipping Reuters the wink that the Russians leaked the documents?

The Atlantic Council. I wonder who is on the ‘Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center Advisory Council’, Terry McAuliffe! Oh come on Hillary, you have to try harder than this. Terry McAuliffe, the Clinton bagman, ok we’ll pretend we didn’t notice. But I better not find any of your other dodgy connections connected to this ‘honest’ piece of journalism Hillary.

It is perhaps a sign of how deluded the political class are, that no one has picked up on Boris Johnson’s slip when being interviewed by Nick Ferrari on LBC (@5,22). When asked about post-Brexit trade negotiations he said they had done TTIP.

But then why would anyone notice?

Everyone is too busy shouting about preprogrammed bullshit, to bother to listen…. (you would think that with lugs his size Andrew Marr might use them, even if he always was a twit).

Tories Announce Plans to Bring Back Hanging #noagenda

It is perhaps fitting that the biggest story of the election, and one that will possibly bring down the next government, and the one after, slipped by almost unnoticed.

I am talking of course about today’s diary piece by Peter Hitchens.

Elsewhere, the Tories are on the verge of bringing back hanging. They won’t, for the simple reason that it might effect women. In politics, as in life generally, and chess, women are the brahmin class.

But don’t anyone dare say this. Or point out that that Jeremy Corbyn is a fool when he claims cuts in public services are to blame for the London Bridge attack. Particularly when a quick search turns up this: “Home Grown: How Domestic Violence Turns Men Into Terrorists” by Joan Smith. As an example of it’s type, particularly from the usual suspects, it is quite rational: racist (these nutters only ever write such things about brown people) but rational.

There are only so many names that can be added to the sex offenders register, and therefore monitored by MAPPA, before the whole thing becomes unworkable: regardless of how much money is poured into it, and how many more unionised jobs Labour wants to create.

There is a famous case- unfortunately my HRT prevents me from remembering the names- of a teacher, who ran off with his pupil.When the girl was old enough, they married. And, have been married for more than twenty years. He’s on the register, as a sex offender.

Occasionally stories turn up in the papers -usually for reasons of class- of teenage boys who touch some girls boobs, thus committing the crime of being ugly in public: they are on the register. A much larger number of cases never reach public scrutiny: if they did the system would collapse due to ridicule.

And officially, and administratively, they are dealt with on the same level of seriousness as a convicted terrorist.

So yes, Mr Corbyn may have a point, that it is Tony Blair’s fault. It was he, who introduced the stupid system, while systematically dismantling the family.

But Mr Corbyn is also to blame, and indeed may perhaps bare the main burden of responsibility for why Usman Khan decided to be Jihadi Wolverine.

I wasn’t in favour of the Iraq war, and said so at the time. In fact, I said, and still say, that the Blair/Brown government was the worst, most corrupt, rotten government Britain has ever endured. What I didn’t do was feed a resentment, a racist resentment, stoked up by the Rushdie Affair by giving inflammatory speeches. And is this him in 1996? Not that it matters, because you can be sure that Mr Corbyn will always be on hand to stoke up the faithful, and feed the paranoid.

People like Usman Khan.

But don’t worry Mr Corbyn has a plan. He wants more focus on rehabilitating terrorists. To get them less fixated on violent outbursts based on perceived slights and insults (and vast over arching narratives that make sort of sense, but not). As part of his plan, he is going to insist that those convicted of terrorism are never allowed to listen to a word he, or people like him, say. For fear it might trigger them.

And to enforce this, if elected, he will have Home Secretary Diane Abbott crack down hard on anyone using sectional, race based, politics.

In a curious twist to the London Bridge attack, one of the heroes, James Ford, turns out not to be a hero. Mr Ford, who was on day release for the murder of Amanda Champion: and her aunt (speaking as a woman, and therefore can’t be wrong) has said he isn’t a hero for wrestling with a Mr Khan, despite not knowing the bomb vest wasn’t real, and quite possibly saving the lives of the kids on the nearby school bus: had it been real and exploded.

Angela Cox, the aunt, said, “It was a hell of a shock. It is a horrible thing. She said, Have you heard about the incident in London today?’ and I hadn’t.

“She said, “ Put it on now and you will see James Ford on the telly’.

“She said, “Don’t worry, it is not him that’s done anything, he’s there and he is being classed as a hero’.

“For him to be called a hero — he is not, he is a cold-blooded murderer. For no reason whatsoever, he just went out and murdered a disabled person.

“I don’t care what he’s done today, he’s a murderer. He is scum. Amanda was my niece and she was vulnerable and he took her life.

“He knew what he was doing. People don’t change.”

She didn’t go so far as to wish him stabbed to death, or perhaps she did, and for reasons of decorum that isn’t being reported.

One person, who as yet has not been found to have upset a woman, is Narwhal Man, currently known only as Lukasz. Apparently the Polish government (the far-right, anti-Semitic Polish government) are going to award him a medal. On account of him being a hero.

Now I am not one to throw stones, but, why do I get the feeling that his only being named as Lukasz means in a day or two, when we find out his full name, something will come out that means he’s not a hero either. I am somewhat surprised that he hasn’t been condemned for use of the narwhal tusk by PETA.

One person who is a hero, and beyond reproach is Leanne O’Brien. Not only is she attractive, female, and a veterinary student (and therefore loves animals), but she is, and this is my reason for mentioning her, the recipient of one of the most Daily Mail pieces of writing I have seen in a very long while…

“ Veterinary science student Leanne O’Brien learned of her boyfriend’s murder just weeks after they had enjoyed a romantic trip to Seville, Spain, to celebrate his 25th birthday.”

There is no mention of the value of her house.

Of course had hanging not been abolished, Mr Ford, would not have been there to wrestle with Mr Khan. And quite possibly there would have been no need for the Learning Together conference, if the bar was set low enough to ease the pressure on prison places, by say, giving men the same sentences as women

Laura Pidcock, could set up an overly elaborate tribunal system, which would apply gender parity in sentencing. Any man found outside the gender norms, who would have been sent to gaol in the old sexist legal system, would be hung (possibly with it being televised on Channel 4). And those sentenced to goal would be encouraged to hang themselves by playing endless loops of Jess Philips trying to explain how she wasn’t laughing at male suicide rates.

Of course the Tory plans are much simpler. Home secretary and celebrated midget, Priti Patel, would just hang everyone. If only because she takes the crime of being ugly in public to extremes. And since no-one is as attractive as her (with the possible exception of Napoleon) everyone is guilty.

It is doubtful that Mr Johnson would oppose such measures, given that he is faced with the double problem of seeking re-election in order to maintain control of the files relating to what has been going on in Syria, and holding on to his fringe.

It is certainly a knotty problem.

Usman Khan: a Case Study in Do Goodery #noagenda

Let us see if we can work out what might have driven Usman Khan to cellotape knives to his hands in an effort to be Wolverine.

According to Abul Taher and Harry Cole in the Daily Mail, the arrangements for Mr Khan’s supervision where as follows….

“His licence was overseen by a panel known as Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPA), including officials from probation services, the deradicalisation programme Prevent and the local council.

He also agreed to be mentored by the Desistance and Disengagement Programme involving visits from an imam tasked with picking up signs of extremism.”

And this Prevent strategy lark… let’s see what the Muslim Council of Britain had to say about it in 2017…

Or to put it another way, I don’t see editorials in the Guardian and the Independent wringing their hands and saying David Copeland’s sentence “was simply too tough for one so young.”

I also found the letter Mr Khan wrote in 2012 intriguing. In it he states that he wanted to “learn Islam and its teachings” through a “deradicalidation course” Presumably this is why he was seeing a clairvoyant Imam: trained in the art of detecting extremism.

But what interested me more than cracking the usual jokes - like wouldn’t it have been better to send round the local CofE vicar if you wanted to steer him away from religion — was this Learning Together outfit who were holding the seminar that sent him round the bend.

“ Yesterday’s Learning Together conference, which was described as “a day to celebrate, connect and collaborate”, was attended by prisoners and probation staff, alongside students, academics and practitioners within the fields of criminology and rehabilitation. Everyone who had been involved in a Learning Together partnership across the UK was invited to attend.”

“A day to celebrate, connect and collaborate,”… is that the sound of tamborines I hear?

This is a chap that was a follower of Anjem Choudary (the bloke who at one time was on the tele almost as much hate preacher Owen Jones (alright Owen’s hate army haven’t quite exploded yet, but give them time)). Mr Khan was quoted at his trial as saying, “ ‘Bro, these kuffar, yeah, you know these flipping dogs, yeah, these scabby kuffar, bruv, they need to get dealt with, bruv. Because they haven’t got the fear inside them no more, man.’

Oh yeah I forgot… ‘kuffar’ isn’t an offensive term, it’s a cultural expression… haven’t you got that through your thick heads yet? Islam means peace, all that government money flowing through charities must prove it.

Not that I suggesting the banning of words would solve the issue, in fact banning words is generally entirely counter productive. Quite the opposite, as they act as a useful signifier —you know like what they are meant to.

But back to Learning Together, let’s have a look and see who is involved…. only joking… let’s have a look at Learning Together, let’s learn together if you will.

The Democrats Reveal Weakness Over Kavanaugh

Since the election of Trump, I have increasingly been glad to live in a monarchy. This was finally confirmed for me by the Kavanaugh hearings.

I understand the arguments about the importance of representation, holding the government accountable, giving everyone the chance of living the American dream — something that has morphed over the years from log-cabin to presidency under Lincoln, to O’Bama’s visionary future of ‘just getting by.’ But if you are honest, I have more chance of becoming King, based on a campaign of strategic murder and fifteenth cousin who died of plague in the Great Fire of London, than the average American has of becoming president.

Then add to the mix the issue of class.

It seems to have escaped the notice of the partisan hordes the class of Ms Blasey-Ford. To call her aristocratic would be fair. And like all aristocrats, in any governmental system ever, being so offers a whole range of privileges. She might as well have said ‘let them eat cake’ instead of fabricating the story she told.

Because her story is a fabrication. As is the story of the people using her that they have the best interests of #sexualassualtvictims. Something proved when it was pointed out, by Ms Mitchell, that running to a lawyer and getting a lie detector is was precisely the wrong thing to do, if you want to know what really happened.

But don’t worry about that.

And don’t worry that Ms Blasey-Ford can’t keep her story straight. One minute she is climbing out the bathroom window, the next she is sneaking out the front door, the next she’s bold as brass exiting through the back door. That is when she is fifteen, or is seventeen? No it must have been fifteen, because she couldn’t drive and it was only a short walk. What? It was six and half miles? Well she got a lift, or she didn’t, well she must have done, and what does that matter anyway when she is being so brave… so very brave…. oh so brave.

Well remind me again about those ‘scandals’ arising from the Mueller probe in which people were indicted for lying to the FBI.

Given Ms Blasey-Ford’s passing acquaintance with the truth, not over thirty some-odd years, but over the course of five minutes, unless she has aristocratic immunity from prosecution: is anyone seriously suggesting that she won’t lie to the FBI?

And before you get all ‘yes, but’… it has already been explained why she has this inability to stick to a story… Ms Mitchell explained it. Had she been allowed to tell her story in her own words, in her own way, she would have been able to form a coherent narrative. Yet it is obvious that she has been coached by the lawyers.

An example would be the way in which her lawyers grabbed the microphone when she started trying to explain in her own words, and in the language of her scientific expertise. Now, I can’t say where this explanation would have gone, or if it would have been relevant, but Ms Mitchell was clearly skillful enough to trigger it from Ms Blasey-Ford. The irony is had her lawyers not shut her up, it may well have lead down a path that definitely placed Brett Kavanaugh on top of her, on that bed.

Interestingly the only other bit of genuine emotion during the whole affair was when a map of the area was produced for Mrs Blasey-Ford to point out various locations. One of the Democrats on the panel freaked out at this. Which made it clear to me that they weren’t bothered about the truth so much as their fiction, in which Ms Blasey-Ford was a useful puppet. Because throughout there was lots of ‘you are so brave’, and ‘you are so, so brave’, and a whole lot of guff about victims. Yet faced with a simple device to connect with the past by way of connecting with possibly suppressed memories, no matter how incidental, that was too much.

It was less ‘show me on the dolly where the nasty man touched you,’ than ‘could you show me the route you took to get home? Did you see anyone? Was someone having a bar-b-que? Do you smell the bar-b-que? etc… i.e the sort of thing that should have been done in the open-ended session but wasn’t because the Democrats went the route of lawyers and lie detectors.

Oh and before moving onto Mr Kavanaugh, I am rather confused with the swim suit. Why was she wearing it? And how was it such a preventative in the alleged ‘potential rape’?

According to the story, it was the inability to remove the swimsuit that caused the assault to stop. Assuming that this was not an old-fashioned suit like your granny used to where, the sort that resembles long-johns, I fail to see how this was such an obstacle.

But onto Kavanaugh.

Now he clearly faces the problem of lying to the FBI. In his case doubly so because from reports it would seem that he has already under-gone at least six FBI evaluations. He also faces the added problem of not being Trump’s preferred candidate, and therefore this is a useful way for Trump to scupper the candidate he used to make peace with the ‘moderates’ in his party, and to promote the candidate he had always wanted: as recommended by his sister: Amy Coney-Barratt.

So from Trump’s point-of-view all he has to do is to condemn the Democrats, throw up his hands and cry that it is terrible that such a ‘good man’ (Trump code for dead-man walking) has been treated so poorly,and get a woman on the court thereby under-cutting practically the last card the Democrats have, ‘won’t somebody think of the women.’

Sprinkle in a few more Democrats being caught out by #MeToo — at some point someone will work out that this hastag is a political tool for Trump to get rid of his enemies — perhaps one of them who were singing Ms Blasey-Ford’s praises during the hearings, and the job is as good as done for the mid-terms.

But back to Kavanaugh.

That the vote has been delayed a week, so that the FBI can use their expertise and superior knowledge, is rather a joke; certainly with regard to the allegations of drinking.

If Kavanaugh really is such a Jekyll and Hyde with a few shandy’s inside him, it seems rather odd to order the same agency that at least six times in the past found that this was not such a problem with regard to his advancement up the judicial career ladder. And, maybe it’s just me, but is it really such a problem if he has the odd glass of wine or three on weekdays? I realise America has a rather odd relationship with alcohol thanks to prohibition, but it strikes me that that all of the professions involved in this tale, journalism, politics, the law and academia all have a reputation for cutting deals over a glass of sherry, or five. And, there is the fact that Kavanaugh is an Irish name….

But then there is little reason for the new Puritans to be any different to the old.

Which brings us to the thorny issue of ‘boys will be boys’….

On this point Kavanaugh’s defence of him being a virgin perhaps doesn’t help him; assuming Ms Blasey-Ford can make up her mind if she was fifteen or seventeen. If it is the former, it certainly doesn’t help him, given that at fifteen if you till haven’t got laid then ‘everyone knows you’re a poof.’ And if it is the latter, you might just get away with saying you are ‘waiting for the right girl’.

However, and this really needs to be pointed out: let’s assume that Kavanaugh was a virgin, a studious boy who studied hard, played hard at sports and helped old ladies across the road. In short, in the modern parlance, “a role model”.

Then why bother?

If the result of denying yourself, and applying yourself, is the same as if you had gone round screwing whoever, whenever, why bother?

It’s a massive double standard. Particularly when Barbara Boxer is on the tele lecturing anyone who will listen on the immorality of everything. Regular listeners to the No Agenda podcast will know the stories of Ms Boxer getting a ‘lift home’ from Environmental Agency meetings. In fact it was so well know that it was somewhat of a joke as to whose turn it was to fill in the Ms Boxer on recent events. And the rumour was that fulfilling the role would often give you a leg-over — sorry, leg-up — in your career.

But obviously it is no one’s business what a lady does in her private life. And it’s not like she could rape anyone…. well unless you consider the current rape laws with their talk about coercive sexual congress with an unwilling partner. But men being men, they want it all the time… unless they are ‘a shirt-lifter’… gagging for it they are… etc.

Again, it’s odd how, given our ‘enlightened’ age no-one has tackled the homophobia implicit in women not getting their way — which is of course msogyny — which is of course homophobia, since gays are only gay because they hate women….

I think you get the point.

That if the standards applied to men, were equally applied to women, the prisons would be full.

And, I’m not saying, ‘boys will be boys’: what I am saying is that ‘teenagers will be teenagers’, and that the official statistics on these matters, done by actual criminologists, state that the rates of sexual assault are roughly equal for boys and girls, as both victims and perpetrators.

Now clearly this doesn’t fit the narrative here, but then the narrative being given doesn’t fit the narrative. Since the claim is that having been forced onto the bed, and had a hand placed over her mouth, when whoever tried to remove the swim-suit failed, Ms Blasey-Ford wrestled herself free and the assault ended. Which in terms of the narrative makes her the strong and empowered women from countless scenes, in countless films, books and dramas.

This is where class comes into play. For even if it did happen, it is highly doubtful that anybody but an aristocrat, could have such a tale taken the least bit seriously by any investigating authority.

For her to claim that this both as attempted murder and sexual assault is daft. She might as a well demand that the FBI go after a taxi driver who braked a little late and nearly ran into the back of lorry forty years ago. Her feeling of thinking she might die would be just as real, she may even have flashbacks of the incident. She may even still smell the air-freshener hanging from the knob of the radio.

I am sure there are some who will claim I’m taking his side, mansplaining, being an adultist or whatever. That I can’t understand. Which would be wrong. And to entirely miss the point.

Kavanaugh is a judge, and as such I assume he can hear rape cases and the like. So one wonders why this sudden concern about his fitness now, and these claims that women aren’t safe, when by her own admission Ms Blasey-Ford confided the details of this incident to her husband sixteen years ago, but made no complaint. The same applies to these other women who have come forward.

Nor should we overlook the context, that according to Democrats thousands of women will die if he gets elected.

Which brings me back to my initial point about the benefits of monarchy.

I happen to quite like the Queen, not because I am a flag-waving monarchist, but because I don’t have to have anything to do with her. She’s the head-of-state, she cheers people up when she pays a visit to the local factory or old-people’s home, once a year she gives a Christmas message, and that’s about it. I don’t fall out with anyone for liking or disliking her, I don’t have to go out protesting or making a nuisance of myself. I let her do her thing, and she just gets on with what she likes to do: shooting pheasants, waving, and scaring the crap out of the King of Saudi Arabia.

The same goes for judges. The Queen rubber stamps their appointment, on behalf of politicians or whoever. They do there thing, I try to steer clear of them, and am quite happy to give them a piece of my mind if they cock up. Quite why I should want to vote for them is quite beyond me. Especially when the only route that leads to is endlessly ‘tough on crime’, private prisons and all the curtailment of civil rights that entails.

Kavanaugh is being appointed for his legal knowledge, and forty years of legal experience.

That this is now being reduced to the question of something he may or may not have done when he was fifteen is ludicrous.

Particularly when the key to deciding that issue has nothing to do with him. For this is nothing more than an appeal to women, who have had similar experiences, to imagine it was Kavanaugh doing it to them, and to vote Democrat in the mid-term elections.

My hunch is that this demonstrates the weakness of the Democrats.

But it also highlights the strength of monarchy… it’s about the only system guaranteed to produce ‘real people’.

#comicsgate — #Marvel Waste Yet More Money on PR

So the big news from #comicsgate today is that Sana Amanat, VP of content and character development, has revealed Marvel used Stan Lee to condemn #comicsgate and it’s supporters.

Or to put it another way: Sana Amanat misled an elderly man — who was involved in various court cases and allegedly had his blood stolen to autograph comics — to come out and tell people to stop criticising her for being bad at her job. That is assuming Sana Amanat was the one who thought this was a good idea — maybe she was, maybe she wasn’t — but regardless she was the person that popped up the Reveal podcast to ‘reveal’ the information.

And she is the person, presumably given her job title, responsible for the creation of the characters that people have been complaining about.

But settle down kids, Grandpa has told you to behave.

So what is the Reveal podcast? I hear you ask.

And frankly why should anyone care? After all podcasters are like comic book readers, fat, Cheeto dusted losers in their mother’s basement, spouting conspiracy theories and fake news.

Not this one, baby… take a look at these credentials….and stand in awe… of the internet of the future….

Yes that’s right, it’s a corporate non-profit NGO, that tells you the facts, and only the facts, and never speaks ill of any corporation — providing they slip them enough money through the back-door, and into the tax-free, money laundering Utopia of ‘charity’.

As an aside, there was a time when the ‘left’ used to oppose this sort of thing. When they would say such dumb things as, ‘if we taxed charities, we could fund universal free health care.’

Sadly those days are long gone.

But don’t worry, as that list of sponsors has a long history of connections to the eugenics movement. And on no account pay attention to The Center for Investigative Reporting being founded in 1977. Because there is no need to worry..

“ We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals and organizations for the general support of our activities, but all editorial decisions are made independently, not on the basis of donor support.”

So it must just be my new glasses, that I notice this podcast hits every point pumped out by the Marvel PR machine, with regard to #comicsgate, and Disney more generally with regard to other less than popular products.

According to the blurb…

“ There’s a new battlefield in the culture wars: comic books. The alt-right now has gotten in the business, led by a buxom, Confederate flag-waving superhero named Rebel and a white vigilante who turns immigrants over to ICE.”

In case you are wondering, what he is talking about is the comics being produced by Vox Day, who is interviewed in the broadcast.

That would be the same Vox Day who was roundly told to sling his hook when a few weeks ago he announced he was going to copy-right the name comicsgate to produce a line of comics.

Let us stop for a moment, and consider what #comicsgate is.

And yes, I realise there is the explanation that runs along the lines of ‘it is about making great comics, without overt political messages, that are fun and exciting,’ and at that point people add on all sorts of things like: soy-filled, Nazi, SJW, bigots… etc.

But come with me over to the comics pages of indigogo, or kickstarter, or Amazon, and tell me what you notice about the projects that don’t fund, or the comics that don’t sell… is it the art? Is it the story? Or is it that no one has ever heard of either the writers or comics?

I would suggest the latter.

And if you agree, then ask yourself why have you heard about “#comicsgate” titles like Cyberfrog or Jawbreakers?

No, no, no… answer honestly… none of that yes but, no but…

Now ask yourself, why don’t more people apply the business model: build an audience, be connected with your audience, and provide them with a quality product with good customer service.

But back to the fantasy world of Marvel/Disney PR, bought and paid for journalism.

So having set up the premise that Vox Day is #comicsgate(when he isn’t), and he is bringing out comics using the imprint comicsgate (when he isn’t) based on ‘the South Will Rise Again”, they move onto to talk to Chuck Dixon, an artist who used to work for Marvel and DC but got blacklisted.

He explains why he is working with Vox Day…

“ He approached me. I didn’t know much about him, I still don’t know a whole lot about him, but this is the first time in my experience that I’ve gone to work on a job and everybody’s concerned with who is publishing it and their background, their beliefs, and everything else because this guy is … Man, is this guy a lightning rod. I don’t agree with a whole lot of what he says but he was offering me an opportunity to create our own work. He had a funding thing and he had a distribution deal set up. He admitted that he didn’t know what he didn’t know, so he wasn’t telling me what to do, he was asking me what I should do or what would be best for me and all the rest of it. Offering me an opportunity and didn’t tell me what to write, and still has not told me what to write, so, to me, it was just an opportunity to be free of the kind of constraints that are put on you at the major companies, the political correctness constraints. I wasn’t interested in doing a book that was political. I wasn’t interested in doing a message book.”

And so it goes on, but the thing to note in the interview with Dixon is that they don’t ask him what it is he is actually working on. Presumably we are meant to believe that it is he making ‘the Dixie Chicks Great Again’…

Though for those interested, here is a review of his actual comic, Avalon. And no, it is not ‘alt-right’, or even ‘alt-light’, it is a pretty standard super-hero crime comic.

It should also be noted that Mr Dixon is also working with the real bette-noir of the Marvel PR machine, Richard C Meyer: on another not ‘alt-right’ comic, Devil Dog.

But you can see how this ‘honest journalism’ is working. They are pitching Vox Day, who isn’t #comicsgate, and then they are going to bring on Sana Amanat to soft-soap and schill for the company.

Oh but first we have to bring on Chelsea Cain, and have the moustache twirling cis-white-male hate mob tie her to the railway lines, to add to the hypocrisy of Sana Amanat’s ‘SJW Marvel Hero’ act. I say hypocritical for reasons that will become apparent later.

Funnily enough Chelsea Cain is part of #comicsgate: she is certainly using the business model — but don’t tell John Layman — she has built name recognition, has an audience, and is using it to promote her forthcoming comic, Maneaters. Her problem is that the audience she has, is busy trying to destroy #comicsgate, rather than using the hashtag to promote her work.

And again I ask you… how many of the people listening to this NPR broadcast, weeping into their hankies at Ms Cain’s tragic tale are going to buy her comic? As opposed to say Ms Cain getting down and dirty with That Umbrella Guy on a livestream.

Yes, fine he has slagged her off, and she would take flack from the chat, but Chelsea Cain has a comic to sell, and it wouldn’t be hard to spin the story that she was forced by Marvel to do the feminist schtick, that she didn’t want to do it, they forced her and now she is black-listed.

As Mindy Wheeler has pointed out Image require her to hit sales targets, and that the row between Nasser Rabadi and John Layman is no reason to boycott Image.

I’m just saying…

Interestingly, Chelsea Cain in her interview does get to pitch her book…

“ The Handmaid’s Tale meets Cat People. It’s about teenage girls who turn into killer wild cats when they have their periods, just like in real life.”

Yes, fine the pitch is a bit lame, and may well appeal to NPR listeners who have finished weeping into their hankies and are steadying their nerves between drug commercials with a slug of gin.

Memo to Chelsea… watch the Wolfman with Oliver Reed….

And so having paid to create the narrative, Marvel wheel on their big guns, to explain how this Kultur-Kampf (that isn’t) is just so unfair to poor old corporate Marvel, who never did nuffin, and just trying to be fair, to the down-trodden, the oppressed, the voiceless…

So how did you create Ms Marvel?

“ She came really out of conversations about my childhood, and the idea that we needed a character for the young Sanas of the world, as my old boss Steven Wacker said. The bigger idea was about creating a character who was yes Muslim, yes South Asian, yes of course, a girl, woman, or teenager. Really someone who was relatable and that any fan would fall in love with.”

Yes because who doesn’t love an openly racist idiot who runs an illegal prison, and has seemingly no awareness or ability to learn anything? I’m talking here about Ms Marvel, not Sana Amanat, but then given Ms Amanat’s obsession with ‘browness’ and the Marvel obsession with evil ‘whiteness’… given her job… maybe I’m not.

I should point out here, that if you cast you mind back to the 1990’s there was a hoo-haa about the ethnicity of villains in films. Apparently this promoted prejudice. The biggest of these rows was about an Arab baddy in a Schwarzenegger film, I think it was True Lies (the one where he shoots up a sky-scraper with a Harrier), which in turn led to a wealth of work for white English actors… which may or may not confirm the theory that it promotes prejudice…. but regardless is worth considering the next time someone starts wittering on about representation…. and why there are not enough ‘minorities’ in film, TV, Comics etc…

And at this point you might want to hold onto your sides, in case they split.

“ I was surprised at how well the book did.”

“ Us too, trust me.”

How they are defining success here, is that the book sold well to Libraries. In terms of the actual numbers shipped (we don’t need to get into the debate about shipped copies counting as sold) it didn’t do so well. And ask any author, the regular royalty cheque from people borrowing your books, or from periodicals to which you have contributed, is most welcome. What I am saying is, getting books into libraries, at discount and bulk discount prices, is not a measure of success… particularly when you are cutting the pay rates of writers and artists.

But Ms Marvel did about as well as…

“ Marvel also launched a female Thor, a Korean American Hulk, and a black Captain America.”

These all failed as stand alone characters, with the character either reverting back to the original or being shuffled around into various other titles. The strong rumour being that the only reason Ms Marvel struggled on for so long was that it would have been a total admission of defeat for Ms Amanat.

But to be fair, it is a new character, and new characters take time to build. However to claim that she is a character “that any fan would fall in love with” is either a threat, delusion or marketing speak.

And given that Ms Amanat goes on to say…

“ You know you’re talking about the 40s, and 50s, and 60s, where white men controlled everything. The natural predilection for men creating everything is creating content for themselves. The focus was specifically on a lot of white male heroes.”

I think it is safe to say it is delusion.

I realise that this ‘podcast’ is meant for NPR listener’s, who by now is so drunk on gin, that the are using the speed dial to order every drug being advertised (whether they have the illness or not) without bothering to watch the last third of the advert listing the side effects: and I know this is racist world of ‘Adolf’ Amanat, but at some point surely someone has noticed that she has said the character is based on her, or are we just meant to not notice.

Nor are we meant to notice that this is one of the primary complaints of #comicsgate, that the ‘characters’ and hiring practices of Marvel are specifically based on external surface traits and not on the quality of the art, writing or story.

Yes they might have been the dreaded white men back in the day, but they created good enough stories that the comics survived the 40s, 50s and 60s, and in some cases ran for 100s if not 1000s of issues. Without the need to constantly relaunch, bugger about with the numbering, and rely on press outlets to guilt the gullible into saying the Emperor’s hat look nice.

Oh what does it matter, the NPR listener has suddenly become interested in Tena pads. Which is lucky, since I think I am about to wet myself…

“ I think after the movies came out in the last 10 years, and I want to give credit to the studios, it’s become this really big global mainstream phenomenon. People always knew who Peter Parker was, the cartoons existed. Marvel was really you know at the back of people’s minds, but the movies allowed the Marvel brand and the Marvel roster of characters to literally go global. Because of that, because audiences were opened up, we were able to interact with them in a bigger way and take more risks. Also at the same time, while we’re creating all of these sort of newer characters or experimenting with sort of the wider female roster of heroes that we’ve been able to do in the last 10 years, we knew that more people were waking up to seeing themselves in our comics.”

Again this is one of the major criticisms of #comicsgate. That people go to the see Thor or Ironman, and they get excited, and go down to the local comic shop only to find Jane Foster and Riri Williams. It makes no sense, either to do this, or claim that the films do anything for the comic sales.

And neither does the idea that people want to see themselves in the comics. Yes, perhaps if you are ten, you may very well run around with a parka streaming out behind you thinking you are Batman, but that isn’t because when you picked up a copy of Batman he was a ten year old kid running round with a parka streaming out behind him.

There is this video that did the rounds a couple of years ago. It is of a comic shop owner describing how he had brought more women into his shop, and of course because women are involved, and this being current year, it was all a great success and everyone lived happily ever after.

The thing that struck me watching him say stuff like, “we dust the shelves”, is the same argument could be made for bras.

I’ll wager if you did a breakdown of the sales of bras, you would find that men account for quite a sizable chuck of the market — and women account for a equally large chuck of the people returning them to get the right size, something more practical, or whatever. But every man, who for whatever reason, has gone into a lingerie shop knows that the shop-assistant will ask embarrassing questions… and they themselves will probably do something daft: like when asked the size, the will do that thing with their hands as if muscle memory will do the trick. Of course were any of this to happen to a woman, it would be akin to mansplaining, or manspreading, and it would be a scandal, and the lingerie shops would be shamed into being inclusive. But it’s just one of those things.

More of a surprise is that given the rates of obesity, the bra manufacturers haven’t cottoned on to the business opportunity.

But the principle is the same. You don’t look at bras, or football matches, or someone threatening to jump from a bridge, or any other form of entertainment when you are older than ten, and seek representation and participation.

“ Also realizing, “Oh wait, if that’s for me too, if I can see myself in a comic, maybe I can actually be a part of the creative process.”

If anything confirms that Marvel are hiring on tick-box quotas and not talent, it is this.

I’m beginning to like this interview. I like seeing PR money wasted because events have moved on. Oh sure it will be used to promote the narrative they have worked out to explain the price rises to cover the shortfall in sales, and the expenses incurred from having so much inventory sat around. But it’s always nice to see a corporation make a fool of themselves.

“ I met with Sana a few days before writer Chelsea Kane went public criticizing Marvel, claiming the company didn’t have her back when she was attacked online. I couldn’t ask Sana directly about those claims, but I did ask her this…”

Which is a neat way of admitting that this “honest” “journalism” was coming unstuck. Not least because the transcript spells Chelsea Cain’s name wrong, and Ms Cain accused Marvel of a lot more than that. If you read the transcript, they have clearly mucked about with the editing, because having set up this ‘slam-dunk’ for Ms Amanat to ramble on about milkshakes and the unfairness of people having opinions of their own, we get this…

“ The way that I look at it is, I am a Muslim American woman who is a Vice President at one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, and have been able to make a lot of big strides. That’s how I take them on because I’m here and they’re there. They can be as upset as they want, but we’re not trying to take away anything from them.”

Well you are.

Or you should be, trying to take their money by selling them things they want to buy.

I realise Ms Amanat, though unfortunately Disney apparently doesn’t, that you think this is all about you, but the last time I looked (with the exception of Ms Marvel) you were not available on the shelves to buy. No-one gives a toss about you, beyond their grievances with your kooky hiring, your daft marketing and your inherent racist and political bias.

But when they get around the ‘terror’ of those poor women, she goes back into fantasy land…

“ We’re not trying to further their public face on this, because I think it’s important that they have privacy and that their name isn’t smeared and continue to be smeared. The more that we repeat it, the more that people will pay more attention and have a bigger target on their backs. We want to make sure that they’re safe.”

Really?

So that is why Joe Quesada, the Marvel creative director, went on a three day sperg out, dragging up all those names back into the public. That is why your artists and writers and general hangers on, bring them up all the time: in addition to getting involved in rows and flame-wars with people, often over the most innocuous of comments, that then flare into slanging matches.

To call what Sana Amanat says a lie is an understatement.

And then it’s onto Stan Lee, and blah blah, ‘anonymous hate’, blah blah blah…

But don’t worry, the drunken, drugged up, pampered, NPR listener is by now erratically driving around town looking for their cat…

So this will all be filed for future reference for some other lazy journalist to pick up, in order to further spread the narrative of evil-white-men ruining Marvel’s delusion, to anyone daft enough to listen.

#Sargon Damages #UKIP More — Just as #Metokur Said He Would

It’s a funny old world.

One minute you are riding high, offering advice to the EU parliament and claiming to be on the verge of interviewing Donald Trump, the next you are embroiled in an internet feud and calling Mr Metokur a pedo Next you are involved in a bomb threat at Mythcon and a series of less than flattering articles in the media.

Such has been the journey of Sargon of Akkad over the past week or so.

Oh how different it was back in June when having announced his intention to join UKIP sat down to have a chat with Kevin Logan, in a video entitled ‘Persuading Kevin Logan to Join UKIP.’ Then the talk was about how he was going to take over the party, how he was going to change British politics: all was cheerfulness and bright optimism.

Perhaps if he had listened to the warnings Mr Logan gave him about being ‘sceptical’ he wouldn’t be in his current predicament.

I use this term because rumours are circulating that he is less than popular within UKIP. Something not helped by the release of a taped conversation between himself, his ally Vee, and Mauritian Struggle in which Sargon says that he is not interested in party politics. Which is a decidedly odd thing to say for someone joining a political party and raises serious issues of judgement.

It is one thing to point at John Locke and claim that somehow people both inside the party and in the electorate at large, will somehow understand what is contained within Two Treatises on Government, and just go, ‘the scales have been lifted from my eyes, I’ll vote for that guy.’ And, it is another thing to deal with the real political world of favours and alliances, backstabbing and influence.

Sure, as a YouTuber, Carl of Swindon, understands the principles — voting videos up and or down to boost or prevent another channels growth: of brigading and amplifying, making response videos to bring traffic to your site… etc. And it could be argued that these are genuine transferable skills that could be brought to the political arena.

But rather than reading Locke, or Aristotle, or Belle Hooks to win some pointless argument with a feminist, he would have been well advised to read the Palliser novels by Anthony Trollope, or indeed the Barsetshire Chronicles, to understand how the game is really played, when the stakes are not subscribers or patreon money, but for real things like power and the purse-strings.

Of course his ‘internet friends’ have come to his aid, making videos to express their solidarity.

For instance, the YouTuber the Quartering is outraged at the slandering of his ‘friend’ in the Times. It is utterly baffling to him that they wouldn’t print Sargon’s five paragraph reply to the questions posed to him by a journalist via Facebook. That his reply did not address any of the questions asked, and slithered and slid around with all the finesse of the rolling English drunk on the rolling English road, did not help.

I mean, having joined a party described by David Cameron as consisting of “fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists, mostly”, it was probably not advisable to be caught on a livestream with Richard Spencer that resulted in him calling people “white niggers”, and then going on about how white people should act, and that they were failing to act like white people and were therefore ‘niggers’. Now fair enough, this was in response to him being baited by the chat to answer the JQ (Jewish Question), stuff about his racial heritage, and in that context it is perhaps a reasonable response (if you are a YouTuber).

But the fact that you have to explain it, and it can be so easily misconstrued: and worse the fact that Sargon cannot explain it, and needs others to explain his various gaffs — the ‘I wouldn’t even rape you’ comment to Jess Philips, his ban from Twitter for sending inter-racial gay-porn to the Alt-Right, the clarification that he wasn’t accusing Mr Metokur of actually grooming teenagers, he was speaking metaphorically and suggesting it was emotional abuse… etc.

Luckily for Sargon the press have yet to latch on to his assertion that Andrew Anglin, from Stormfront, was someone he had great respect for as a martyr for free speech, and the most persecuted man in the world — to paraphrase.

Perhaps nothing highlights Sargon’s lumpen wit more than the debate between him and Thomas Smith at last years Mythcon event.

Now to be fair, Mr Smith became fixated and hysterical, which was compounded by his ignorance of Jess Philips and why the offending tweet was sent. I am sure Ms Philips is a charming person in private, however in public she is a rather gobby know-nothing, who famously described the events in Cologne — in which some 800–1000 women were sexually assaulted — “could be described on Broad Street in Birmingham every week”. Something for which she later apologised.

But it doesn’t get around the fact that Sargon’s tweet was poorly worded, by the inclusion of the word “even”. Nor does it get around the fact that he is a very poor debater, thus leading to the Mythcon event being a ‘shitshow’.

And while this event gave him notoriety and a degree of e-fame, it still doesn’t explain why everyone is so shocked that it gets endlessly repeated: for the simple reason that to those not on the interwebz it is about the only thing they have ever heard about him.

When you throw into the mix his anti-feminist stance, and such other embarrassments as the Lush affair. It doesn’t take a genius to work out why it becomes a ready short-hand for political opponents to accuse him of having ‘bizarre’ ideas.

Again I come back to Trollope. I’m not sure where this idea came from that newspapers, and the media in general, are supposed to be impartial pillars of the the truth. To criticise the Times as being less than partial, as Sargon’s ‘internet friends’ have done, when leaping to his defence, is naive at best. Jim Hacker in the sitcom Yes Prime Minister defines the papers best, and as he points out, “the Times is read by the people who actually do run the country.” So if you are feeling generous, it should be taken as a compliment that the people running the country feel ‘so threatened’ that they should run a hit piece.

Though if you are feeling less generous, had Sargon not responded to the questions in the manner that he did, they might have bothered to take him seriously.

However, it should also be noted how many of these ‘internet friends’ are politically utterly worthless: not having a vote. It’s all very well to say things like, “if I was in the UK, I’d definitely join UKIP,” but you aren’t.

And it should also be noted how many of these ‘internet friends’ are currently under the ‘internet drama’ spotlight.

In his livestream to Jim/Mr Metokur/Billie-the-Anti-Bully, that started this current round of ‘internet friends’ white-knighting for the Fuehrer of Liberalists: Sargon laughed at the notion that when he became an MP any journalist would ever ask questions about Mundanematt.

Fair enough.

But then to turn up a week later at a conference with Bunty King, when everyone and his wife is laughing at the video of Bunty King talking about ‘back-door’ oral and having women pee on him. It doesn’t take Christopher Steele to see that this might be somewhat of a problem for a budding politician to have such ‘internet friends’.

And clearly such things aren’t necessarily a hindrance to a politicians career. Who now remembers Boris Johnson’s entanglement with Darius Guppy? In which he supplied the address, that he obtained via he job at the Daily Telegraph, of journalist investigating Mr Guppy’s part in a financial fraud for which he was convicted: as part of plot to have the journalist beaten up.

No doubt, there will be some, that will now bleat, what has been the standard response over the past few weeks, ‘well at least he is out there doing something, what are you doing?’

Well at the moment I am shaking my head, and wondering why the bloody hell anyone thinks it is a good idea that someone so rash, and so flawed, would think it a good idea to get involved in politics: when they don’t have the first idea how the game is played.

True, in show-business there is no such thing as bad publicity — unless you are Fattie Arbuckle, Gracie Fields, Pee Wee Herman, and any number of others who have flown a little too close the sun of fame.

At least Paul Joseph Watson has the sense to steer clear of things like Charlottesville or the Britain First thing. So far as I can see, since joining UKIP he has just done his thing. The same largely applies to Count Dankula.

They haven’t jumped in with their size six boots, headfirst, with their feet in their mouth, and there backside where their elbow should be: at every opportunity.

This really has been a few weeks in stupid.

#comicsgate- Mike Deadato Calls For a Witch-hunt

Another day, another daft #comicsgate story.

This time it is Shoot the Breeze who have an ‘interview’ with Mike Deadato jr, who as an artist has worked all over the place within comics. For several weeks Mr Deadato has been grumbling about this and that, and blocking people left-right-and centre in solidarity….

Several days ago, Mr Deadato was calling on conventions to ban anyone who has come of out of the #comicsgate closet. If the conventions didn’t, then he wouldn’t attend. And he called on others to stand with him. Though he made the concession that people who support #comicsgate could attend the conference as paying guests. Which is fine, since most people supporting #comicsgate, or in sympathy with it, would be paying guests anyway… since they are customers.

But now Mr Deadato has gone further. He wants people arrested…

“ WHY isn’t the police involved? There is not a law these people are infringing? Why aren’t they in prison?”

Now let us stop and think about this for a minute.

Let’s use as an example Geeky Sparkles, from Clownfish TV, since she is pretty representative of who people supporting #comicsgate actually are. We can throw Neon in there too, since they are married, and it would be a cruel and unusual punishment were they not to share a cell in Mr Deadato’s gulag — obviously he would empty their pockets first of money (this being a matter of principle to him).

She criticises the practices and cliquey nature of the comic book industry. She is just as critical of people like Mags Versaggio and her threats of violence, or Robbie Rodriquez sending anus pictures — both of which are potential actual crimes. If anything, she goes further, lambasting the way in which the comic industry has coerced and subverted web-comics, cutting off revenue sources for independent creators, gatekeeping, and she has been critical of the ‘SJWs’ .

Of course, the fact that Geeky Sparkles and her husband are liberal Democrats matters not a jot to Mr Deadato, in his self imposed exile behind his block-chains. Because he knows better.

In answer to the question….

“ Despite verbal attacks on creators, Comicsgate has said one of their goals is to promote “organic introduction” to women, people of color, and LGBTQA+ individuals into comic books. How do you feel about this?”

He replies….

“ That is a lie. They are an alt-right group. They want nothing of that sort. The racist and homophobic attacks on social media are enough proof.”

Which given that Ms Sparkles is an art teacher in a public school — not trying to doxx her, just reporting what she has said on her podcast — for Mr Deadato to start accusing her of being ‘alt-right’ could have serious repercussions. You know, because not everyone has indulgent employers like Marvel and DC.

And speaking of indulgence: in the religious sense.

Another question raised over the weekend was whether it is worse to call a woman a ‘cum-dumpster’ than it is to call a man a ‘cum-rag’.

I really should keep a note of these things for the next time I speak to St Thomas Aquinas during a seance. He may well have wrestled with the knotty problem of angels on the head of pin, but I fear his theological training would not have prepared for such a problem. No doubt he would have cited the sin Onon and perhaps a few verses from Deuteronomy.

For those not in the know, the ‘cum-dumpster’ reference comes from the ‘dark roast’, an apocryphal text oft cited by the Catholic Church of Corporate Niceness — CCoCN+ — as a sign of heresy among the unwashed Protestants of #comicsgate.

And lo, the devilish form of Richard C Meyer did accuse the saintly Heather Antos of being Tom Breavort’s work-girlfriend, and in the midst of verbal combat, masquerading as jokes, called her a ‘cum-dumpster’.

Now we don’t need to go into the whys and wherefores of who was insulting/threatening/harassing whom at this point in the story: or why Heather Antos, dear sweet innocent maiden that she is in all of this, was ever mentioned in the ‘dark roast’. Suffice to say it was a joke, in poor taste, since retracted, and not that dissimilar to Gail Simone cracking jokes about eating children in a recent published comic.

So on Friday Nasser Rabadi got involved in a spat with John Layman from Image comics. During this argument Nasser Rabadi accused John Layman of making racist remarks toward him. John Layman claimed not know what race (‘alt-right’) Nasser Rabadi is. Before launching into a tirade about this and that, during the course of which the term ‘cum-rag’ was used.

So unhappy at this customer service Mr Rabadi went to Mr Layman’s boss, Erik Larson, and was given the brush-off: and the philosophical question then arose from this rebuttal…

“ In what way is “cum rag” a racist term? Every insult is not a racial slur. That’s not how that works.”

“ You’re moving the goalpost. “Cum rag” is not racist. “Cum dumpster” is, however, misogynist. There are implications to being called a “cum dumpster” — those are NOT the same when the gender of the insulted is changed and the insult is different.”

Now we can, if you want, get into the weeds on this one, given that Mr Rabadi is of Middle Eastern origin — Lebanese I recall, but I could be wrong — and there are cultural implications to be considered, as anyone who has ever attended a Cultural Sensitivity Workshop will know. For instance, to call someone a ‘dog’ has very different meanings depending upon the part of the world you are in. And it is best to just steer clear of terms like ‘nitty-gritty’ all together.

I’m sure there are some who would no doubt argue that ‘cum-dumpster’ is a word that needs to be reclaimed, to defang it in order to empower women. And equally there are others that would point out that its a bit rich for Mr Larson to be giving lessons in misogyny, given the content of his Savage Dragon books.

I suppose in end it boils down to your attitude to sperm.

Of course given that Mr Larson is a cleric (nay bishop) in the CCoCN+ (well perhaps not — but for the sake of the metaphor we’ll say he is) it would be completely improper of me to point out that ‘cum-rag’ has homophobic connotations. But obviously to suggest that an ally of Mr Deadato, in the trenches of #comicsgate, would not only defend such homophobia, but actively support another ally of Mr Deadato’s use of such terminology when telling a #comicsgate secret-shopper to sling his hook, is obviously far fetched.

Which makes it all rather tricky, especially given Mr Deadato’s call to imprison people.

After all this is on the internet. And there are plenty of countries around the world that calling someone a ‘cum rag’ would get your collar felt for homophobia. Just as there are other countries that the use of the term to suggest you are gay, might well see you grabbed by the fuzz and carted off for moral crimes.

It would all be a bit embarrassing for Marvel or DC if because they published the work of a particular artist or writer, who had sperged out on the interwebz, their comics were banned, and their online store blocked, in those said countries.

Don’t be daft, I hear you cry, this is the CCoCN+, the are the good guys.

Well yes, perhaps, but remember Gerhard Haderer, the cartoonist who was subject to a European Arrest Warrant for his rather sweet comic book about the ‘hippy’ Jesus that was deemed to have broken Greek blasphemy laws in 2005.

Because here’s the thing.

Calling for the police to get involved in the critiquing of comics is daft — particularly when you are doing it from behind a block-bot wall, being fed snippets by people using you for their own ends.

Yeah fine, Mr Deadato might well get a few of his ‘enemies’ into trouble, but he is just as likely to get his friends in trouble or himself.

Of course the real irony in all of this, is that the people who have got these “pros” so wound up, i.e. the comic critics on YouTube like D&C, Just Some Guy and Mim Headroom, have been of late noticing an improvement in the comics being produced, since CB Cebulski, and have been urging people to buy them — sometimes with the caveat ‘or don’t’ because of what the writer or artist has said or done on Twitter.

Blood, Trolls and the Mad World of Chelsea Cain

I see Chelsea Cain is ‘not staying quiet’ in the Daily Beast.

As quick recap, let us remind ourselves how she got the gig at Marvel.

From an interview she gave to CBR, as it appears on her blog…

“ Also, I have no shame. This is important. It has gotten me far. I got this gig through sheer gall. I emailed [Brian Michael] Bendis and was like, “I want to write Mockingbird!” and he wrote back and was like, “Yeahhh, we need to talk.” And he came over and sat me down and explained very patiently and gently that Marvel doesn’t generally hire people with zero experience. And I was like, “I want to write Mockingbird!” And he sighed and put his head in his hands. But in a strange fit of kismet (or as my husband calls it, The Law of Everything Working Out for Chelsea), Marvel happened to be planning this Mockingbird one-off.”

“ Marc and I hang out with a lot of comics people. They are like pigeons here in Portland. If you stop and pay attention to one the next thing you know there are thirty-five of them standing around you with their heads cocked. If the first pigeon likes you, you’re in. You know what comics people like to talk about? Comics.”

“ Marc and I hosted that dinner party with the singular goal of convincing Chuck to write a comic. Marc was the one who came up with the idea. It was just an aside, “You know who should write a comic? Chuck!” Then I went with it with the tenacity of a terrier. It just made so much sense to me. Bendis, his wife Alisa, Matt, Kelly Sue, and Marc and I had spent the whole evening plying Chuck with wine and explaining why this comic book needed to happen. We were making great headway, too. Then Matt looked up at me and said, “You should write a comic book, too.””

Now you can either look at this as a Quinnspiracy, cry #GamerGate or #Comicsgate, and clutch your pearls: or you can say this is how the world works… she knew a guy, who knew a guy… etc.

And let’s be honest, in terms of #Comicsgate all sides do it.

What is being described is exactly what is going on with Ethan Van Sciver, and the people appearing on his YouTube show. They have a slight variation on the theme, in terms of effectively broadcasting the dinner party in order to sell the books, and allowing potential customers to get to know the creators: but the principle is much the same.

The real difference is in the marketing.

When Alison Tieman of the Honey Badgers, and creator of the Xenospora comic book, appeared on Mr Van Sciver’s Comicsgate Live stream, and tried to play the ‘I want to tell you my story’ routine: she was shut down and told to show her book, in order to sell it.

Whereas the Daily Beast take the opposite approach. They want to hear ‘the story’ — and they want to link to all kinds of things: misogyny, Trump, trolling, etc. Perhaps two thirds of the article is about the ‘drama’ of the cancellation of the Vision book, the attempts to silence Cain-which may or may not be true-and the ‘drama’ surrounding Mockingbird.

I say ‘drama’ because according to article there was clearly no need to cancel the book at all…

“ Her Mockingbird run was nominated for two Eisner Awards, the highest honor in comics, and its first collected volume became the №1-bestselling Marvel comic on Amazon — a week ahead of its release date.”

Oh, if only it hadn’t been for those meddling kids… and their nasty trolling ways… let’s stick to the story…and not get into how and why companies, particularly in the music, television and book business, manipulate award ceremonies and charts… because we are not dealing with reality here… we have a story to peddle.

Following the cancellation of Vision, there has been much speculation as to why the book was cancelled. The official explanation, as Cain claims, was given to her, is that her vision of the character didn’t match the vision of the company moving forward. Other’s have speculated that the comic was just terrible or that it was behind schedule: you pays your money and takes your choice.

One thing not mentioned, is that Brian Michael Bendis is now at DC: writing Superman. Ergo, ‘the guy who knew a guy, no longer knows the guy who knows the guy — or he maybe he does, but he doesn’t gossip and politic with him over coffee: because he is too busy building a position in the politics of the new office.’

And CB Cebulski is now running the show, and given the recent criticism of Dan Slott and the new Fantastic Four being racist, appears to be making changes.

Or it could be this — as described in the article…

“ She founded a company called The Ministry of Trouble to help facilitate more storytelling, and to “make trouble in spaces where women are usually told to be silent,” she says. And she lined up another high-profile gig at Marvel, writing the follow-up to Tom King’s Eisner-winning run on The Vision.”

First off, Tom King has also gone to DC.

But of more relevance, having already caused a furore with Mockingbird, and now undermining the current spin that Comicsgate began with the Heather Antos Milkshake picture, this article then causes trouble with this sentence, “At the time, however, the campaign against Cain had no name.”

Or maybe it goes back to 2014…. when Marvel sought to create a weird hybrid between the indie and ‘mainstream’ market… a kind of ‘Action Bunty’ if you will.

Frankly who knows or cares? The cat is out of the bag. everyone is calling each other names and the click-bait denunciations roll out on all sides.

But one does have to ask what was is the point of The Ministry of Trouble? Which would appear to be a publishing company, certainly that would seem to be the case if the upcoming Image title Man-Eaters is anything to go by.

But it could equally be seen as threat; which the Daily Beast article implies worked, by getting her the gig on the now cancelled Vision title. And, it might explain why it was taking so long to produce the Vision comic, if she was also working on Man-Eaters.

Sorry, I was just looking at how much you have to pay to get an Eisner award nomination… though I was more interested in the price of the ticket for the dinner… since my mate, a BAFTA academician, informs me that you can usually tell how much of a scam an award is by checking fee details….

Oh I notice that independent publishers can nominate their books…. interesting….

So, apparently Ms Cain has a comic coming out… the link is above… and it is all about menstruation… periods… being on the blob….

There’s this bloke meets this woman, and he says, ‘fancy coming back to mine?’ And she says, “I can’t I’m on my menstrual cycle.” And he says, “That’s alright, I’ll follow in my car.”… arf, arf…

Yes, I know, it’s a childish joke… funny though… suit yourself…

And I offer it because Ms Cain in her comic uses the word ‘menses’ to describe periods. Which struck me as a bit ‘dark meat/white meat’, as a euphemism for breast and leg.

So I when to check if ‘menses’ is a real word, and for my own interest it’s etymological history…. btw the etymological dictionary to which I linked is a most useful thing. You can find things out like until the 1680’s there was no such thing as a ‘vagina’ — they had far more ‘sexist’ terms.

That’s interesting… ‘menses’… “ “monthly discharge of blood from the uterus,” 1590s, from Latin menses, plural of mensis “month” (see moon (n.)).”

Ok, so it’s a Werewolf story… with cats… no wait, ‘were’ “from wer “man, male person”” (one for the Game of Thrones fans there)… and these are females turning cats on their ‘monthly’… let’s see if there is a ‘shewolf’?

Nope… but there is ‘shewel’… “something hung up to keep wild animals away,”… yeah that might work… assuming that Ms Cain is trying to keep the wolves from the door, and not courting controversy with The Ministry of Trouble.

So let’s see what this is all about…

Which is like, what kind of message are we sending our girls? That this is something that happens to their bodies that is monstrous. And I really think we need to get over that.””

Can anyone tell me what she is talking about?

In what world does this happen?

“I’m off up the shop for beer and fags. Do you want a Bounty?”

“Yes please, you know how I love chocolate when the red mist descends. And can you get me a box of tampons?”

“WHAT?!? You’ll be making me wear dresses next! No I bloody well won’t. What if Charlie up the pub sees me. I’ll be a bloody laughing stock!”

Or perhaps…

“Right that’s the Tesco order done. Can you think of anything else we need before I click send?”

“Tampons.”

“WHAT!?! I will not order those. Suppose the van comes when you are not here. The neighbours might see. Oh no. If you want the devils pencils, then you’ll have to put this sack over your head and go buy them yourself…. after dark…from the next town…wearing this scary crow mask.”

Ms Cain appears to be a cross between The Modern Parents and Millie Tant.

Sadly the product she is selling isn’t Viz, but herself and her feminist agenda.

Counting the Unseen Bird-nests

It is with mild surprise, I see again
the tint of mauve leaves
spread within the autumn trees. That refrain
I hum each year, of hankies left knot-free,
as once more I have carelessly forgotten
to remember to learn the names. Perhaps
this is how death feels: or Parkinsons:
either way it is strange. At the bottom
of this train of thought, on a bench, wrapped
against the first refreshing cold pale sun

jagging between almost rain, I decide
it would be fun to gatecrash my funeral.
To sit at the back, with a pad jotting
the names of those who came: who laughs, who cried,
who came for the white wine and sausage roll.
The nail-tappers, the cheque-cashers prying
in every conversation for their gain.
And then that certain misty light, shifts, lifts,
soaps away the stain,
and I find myself thinking of Christmas.

to learn the names. I shuffle a few
shapes in the deck: clubs of oaks
and diamond and spades but...

Perhaps this is how death feels
when learning of your demise ou gatecarsh
our funeral to read a mish-mas of names
that somehow connect. The nail-bashers
come to check, the cheque-cashers come to pry,
the remnants of fumbles, and those for whom
in a moment of good will received good turn
repaid in turn. Odd to see the sun
jagged between clouds, low and cold
setting not so high as to matter now.
Not that the children spinning on the round-a-bout
will understand; obsessed as they are
with other concerns.
