How to Write a Novel – Fiction or Non-fiction

A writer’s desire to put words into sentences, sentences into paragraphs and paragraphs into stories is by no means a mechanical process. It is a force to be reckoned with. You can’t create it, if it isn’t in you and you can’t get rid of it, if you’ve got the bug to write. But turning our vivid thoughts and imagination into solid form can be both challenging and inspiring. The style that you use will depend on whether you have chosen to write a fiction or non-fiction work.

Before you even start writing your book, it is wise to do some research. Do you know if the topic you have in mind is hot right now? Are there similar books on the market and are they selling well? A good way to find out is by reading newspapers, magazines, newsletter and ezines that cater to writers. Join writer’s groups and forums, as well talk to other people in the writing and publishing field. It is wise to be sure you have a potential audience for your book ahead of time.

FICTION WRITING

Fiction writing is base on imagination and if you have a good one, your story will be good. It can also be plot-driven, or based on an idea or concept. The thing to remember as we go through each aspect of fiction writing is that although your story is fantasy, it must still make sense.

The next thing to consider is the physical setting of your story. It must be authentic enough to be believed and include everything from scenery, to atmosphere and perhaps even weather. These elements might have a profound affect on the actions or moods of your characters.

For instance, does your story take place in a run down factory, a dance hall or spaceship? All of these evoke extremely different images. Then you need to ask yourself, do I want my setting to be simply a background or something more powerful?

Choosing the right ‘point of view’ and ‘narrative voice’ for your story is also very important. Writing in the first person, gives the reader the impression that you are personally invested in your story. A third person ‘point of view’ is more detached.

Time is another element that must be established. First of all, what time of day is it? Although you don’t need to specifically state that it’s 2 p.m., your story must indicate through other details that it is mid-afternoon. Different time periods immediately create pictures in the minds of readers. For instance, there is a world of difference between Washington in 2006 and Boston in the 1800s.

Next, the characters in your story must be considered. Are they the primary focus, rather than the plot? Who is the main character and how will you write your book to show that this person is the most important? A good way to answer these questions is to write down character outlines. Describe not only how they look, but also their character traits (strengths and weaknesses), personality, views and moods.

Your main character will be the one who is most affected in the story and/or plays the biggest role. He or she will be the one with the most force of action, the biggest problem, the most painful hurt or seeking to accomplish the most tantamount goal. This is the character that you want your readers to know best, to perhaps identify with and to care about. Then unless you are placing yourself in the story, decide which character will tell the tale. This is the ‘viewpoint character’ and the reader will experience the story through this character’s eyes. It is also possible to have more than one ‘viewpoint character.’

Next, consider the plot or story line. How will you let the plot unfold in a natural way and follow it through to the end? Where and at what point will the climax occur? Will there by semi-climaxes as the story moves along and at what points? If you are writing a plot-based story, the intricacies of the plot will be what create the most interesting tale. This, of course, will take some planning. In this case, it helps to write out your game plan ahead of time.

Dialogue is a vital aspect of any written work, as it can really bring out the personalities of your characters. It can also serve to fill in necessary information, without just stating it, it can be used to establish the time and place, and also to develop conflicts between characters. Whatever its purpose, writing dialogue is something that can be difficult to create, if you haven’t done it before. Don’t try to recreate actual conversations, as they’ll likely be very boring and annoying. For instance, most people repeat certain phrases and non-words like ‘um,’ ‘aha’ or ‘you see.’

I’m sure you’ve heard the term “double speak” at some point. In dialogue, it means that what your characters say and what they really mean are two different things. What are your characters saying “between the lines” or “subtext?” This can happen when one or more of your characters don’t really understand themselves or their own motivation. Showing a different side to a character through dialogue will tell the reader more about him or her than if you just outright said it. Knowing how to write this kind of dialogue can set you apart from other writers.

Also if your character has a slang or accent, don’t overdo it. Dialogue should also flow, without a lot of ‘he said,’ ‘she said.’ Also try to intersperse your conversations with associated actions. Finally, always remember to begin a new sentence each time another person speaks and put their words in quotations.

NON-FICTION WRITING

Non-fiction writing is based on reality, but is not necessarily factual. This genre includes recreations of true stories, biographies and autobiographies found in such things as books, magazines, newspapers, advertisements and reference books. You might also want to write a how-to book. There are many of them out there on everything from how to loose weight, dance, find the right mate and build a birdhouse, how to improve your golf game, learn to dance, read sheet music or improve your Internet marketing skills, start a business and even how to write.

Non-fiction also includes medical, travel, space books and whole host of other texts. Obviously, the most important aspect of non-fiction writing is to write about what you know best. You must do your homework and become an authority on your subject matter.

You must also have an angle or purpose. Why are you writing it? In answering that question, you must answer the questions: who, what, why, when and how. For instance, if you are writing on how to balance your budget, your purpose is to help people gain control over their finances. You must decide whether you are aiming at the poor, middle class or wealthy. What do they need to know and why? When should they begin their financial planning and how?

For general non-fiction writing, you must decide on the right ‘point of view’ and ‘narrative voice.’ For instance, if you are writing about a personal and painful experience of your own, you might want to present it in the first person. However, if you are not ready to tell the world it was ‘your’ experience, you will need to write it in the third person. If you’re writing an academic book, you might want to write in the third person in a ‘professor’s’ voice. If it is a book about a conspiracy, you might want to adopt a ‘suspicious’ tone.

Next, choose your setting, which for non-fiction writing should be an actual place. If this is not possible, you will need to recreate the setting as closely as possible. Then establish the time element and your character outlines. Again, these must be factual or as close to it as possible. You must then decide on your characters and who is the primary character. What is the plot and how important is it? Will there be actual dialogue in your non-fiction book? If so, make sure that all words, expressions and accents are authentic in relation to the time element. What genre does your book fall into and are you being true to form for that genre?

Finally, although your non-fiction book should be based on facts, you can be just as creative as a fiction writer to keep your writing from being too dry and boring. Don’t be afraid to spice it up a bit, but at the same time stick to the facts.

**************************

Assuming that you know what genre or category your writing falls into, there are a few things to consider. You must be aware that there are certain conventions of structure, character and conversation that automatically come with specific genres. For instance, writers of science fiction often use the term “faster-than-light travel” or “warp speed.” The sci-fi writer needs to know how and where such terms are used, if he or she intends to use them. In mystery writing, the plot generally begins with a discovery, such as a dead body and ends when the mystery is solved. A great way to become familiar with the conventions of your particular genre is to read similar books by other writers.

There is much a beginning author needs to know about manuscript style, dealing with writer’s block, tricks to unleash the imagination, writing query letters and book proposals, using photos, the importance of editing and book covers, how to find a publisher and/or book agent, copyright, why you should get a literary critique, book contracts, marketing, advertising and so much more.

Writing Fiction For Publishing Or Pleasure

Ever since I was a child, I loved becoming engrossed in a fantastic story. There are many genres of books that I enjoy, but writing fiction has always been a hobby of mine, and one which I have enjoyed throughout my life.

Admittedly, it isn't going to be to everyone's taste, as many people will not enjoy immersing themselves in a character and writing fiction. But there are a vast number of people who do love to write, and find a great deal of pleasure in writing, as well as the successful authors who have gained a career from something they love.

Write Regularly

One of the key things that all published authors will tell you is that, it is very important for you to be writing regularly to make sure that you can get into a good rhythm, and that the words flow better if you do work on a regular basis. Writing fiction is like exercising any other set of muscles. And getting the creative juices flowing is like opening a tap, and the more frequently it is used, then the easier it becomes to open the flow of words when you're writing fiction.

Depending on what you choose to write, there can be a great variation in the amount of work that you will tend to do at once. With writing fiction being entirely subjective, make sure that you're writing at your own pace and not trying to push yourself to meet somebody else's expectations.

Many courses will give you indications about how much other writers will write daily or weekly. Nevertheless, these are purely indications, and the speed at which others succeed at writing fiction will not necessarily work for you.

What Should You Write About

It is generally said that you should write about what you already know, but this is more of a guideline than a firm rule. There is no doubt that writing about a subject which you are already familiar with will tend to carry the ring of truth than a subject where you are being entirely creative. But do not allow this to prevent you from writing about what you want.

Writing fiction is exactly what the description would suggest. When you are writing fiction, you are creating something that is new. And while it may be based in reality, you do have a lot of creative freedom. Many writers will like to do research to ensure that the facts that they will use in their work are as close to being accurate as possible, but these can be checked later if you prefer.

Conclusion

On a personal level, I find that writing fiction is a release from everyday life that allows me to create something which is entirely apart from the harsh realities of the world. And I really like to allow my work to avoid the restraints of reality.

However, writing fiction is as individual as the ideas you can create yourself, and that is why there are so many genres of fiction which are popular.

Whatever your reasons for wanting to start writing fiction are, throw yourself into the work and you will find it both enjoyable and rewarding. And whether you are writing fiction for yourself or for an audience of millions, you will find that the closer you bring your fictional world to feeling real, the more successful it will be.

How to Get New Ideas for you Non-fiction Story?

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about non-fiction writing. When you start sharing the fascinating non-fiction writing facts that it is never easy to write non-fiction story, and your friends will be absolutely amazed on what you have told them. The best time to learn about non-fiction writing is before you're in the thick of things. Wise readers will keep reading to earn some valuable non-fiction writing experience while it's still free. As an author, we are all know that there is a big different between writing fiction and non-fiction. Writing fiction is probably the easiest writing because you can write based on any thing that comes from your imagination and there is no need to proof or verify the story against the fact. Vice versa, non-fiction need time and dedication to write as it’s requires proof and verify against the fact and sometime the check with other reference materials.

However, sometimes non-fiction stories based on research, interviews, experiences and opinion. Sometimes you may find an excellent theme of your new non-fiction by looking around you home or from your favourite book store, then you can see a writing opportunity on book shelf. Also picking some plot story from local daily newspaper or article new stories. Perhaps your new idea of new story from those information sources.

Magazines are also the best information source to have new ideas. I personally have subscribed to almost 20 magazines. They are mix of topics of magazines, which are vary form professional magazines, for example "The Writer," "Saveur" and "Society of Professional Journalists".

Not only professional magazines that you have to looking for as an information source, some other kind of magazine are also interesting, actually more interesting in my point of view, they are magazines for hobbies and fun such as "Disney's Adventures" and "YM," "Family Handyman," Golf Digest," "AARP," and "Money." These are all national magazines, cream of the crop and are harder to break into than smaller markets.

Travel around is also a god opportunity to get new ideas, no matter it is a short plane trip or long vacation like you have to take a flight across the country. You may have opportunity to see new things and take some notes then you can use it when you back home. Getting some new ideas from travel magazines or travel brochures and publications from airport stand or in a hotel also possible. The benefit of getting new ideas from these kind of publication is they are available for free, you do not to buy or subscribe like any other publication.

Good non-fiction writers has habit to always collect publication whenever they have a chance and they can even develop the idea and write story when they are at the location of travel and this is a very good example of what good writers should have.

So far, we've uncovered some interesting facts about non-fiction writing. You may decide that the following information is even more interesting. If you've picked some pointers about non-fiction writing that you can put into action, then by all means, do so.
Science Fiction vs Christian Science Fiction

The genre of Science Fiction has influenced Americans, and indeed, the entire world, for a long time. Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, and Edward Bellamy produced a profound effect on society. Some of those effects, in the case of Wells and Bellamy, were intentional.

Writers such as Boston novelist Edward Bellamy and H.G. Wells used the vehicle of science fiction to espouse their views of a government that would come to exist in the form of Stalin's totalitarianism and Hitler's Nazi state. Wells was an extremist who actually believed in a totalitarian government, provided it went to extremes, namely, that the weak were weeded out. Truth be told, reading Wells' words one can only surmise that he essentially approved of the central ideas that lay as foundation to Hitler's ideas of utopia.

While both writers were dreamers and it is doubtful that either man had the foggiest idea of what such a government would in fact do if it truly existed, both of these men were instrumental in making socialism popular with millions. Indeed, some hold that Bellamy was the sole reason socialism was able to make such serious inroads in America. The Social Democratic Party actually passed a resolution in which they noted that "no more effective work had been done for socialism in the United States" than the work done by Bellamy.

Bellamy's science fiction story Looking Backward, a kind of Rip Van Winkle tale where a man falls into a coma and awakens to find himself in the year 2000, had sold over 200,000 copies by 1890 and sales were a healthy 10,000 copies a week. Even Christians were seduced by the power of this man's cherub-like tales of utopia under a government that ruled with efficiency and absolute power. The Society of Christian Socialists was formed and instituted formal ties with Britain's Fabian Socialist organization.

Today, approximately 50% of the highest grossing films are found in the science fiction genre. The sci-fi genre, along with the romance genre, dominates the paperback scene. Add to that the innumerable sci-fi movies and television shows, and it is clear that Science Fiction has permeated our culture and world. Not surprising, like the earlier writers such as Wells and Bellamy, most of the sci-fi stories show a totalitarian government in control, such as the Star Trek series which united the world and other worlds under the umbrella of the United Federation of Planets, a government that is reminiscent of the United Nations.

Captain Picard of the Starship Enterprise quipped once that "The acquisition of wealth is no longer a driving force in our lives. We work to better ourselves and the rest of humanity." A worthy future, no doubt, but one that fails to account for absolute change in human nature that would endow humanity with such an ability to achieve such a society.

The Science Fiction series Star Trek espoused the notion of a global humanism, where humans had evolved to a state where they overcame war, sought peace, and lived consistent with moral codes that made war obsolete. Star Trek saw the universe as empty of a God, but filled with god-like creatures with powers that resembled those of a real God. The immensely popular Star Wars held similar views, with an absence of diety but filled with demonic-like beings whose powers were spectacular, and whose nature was completely evil. The only way to combat these evil beings was something Lucas chose to call "The Force."

Contra to those views were the works produced by men such as C.S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, who penned what can only be termed as Christian Science Fiction, or Christian Fantasy. It was Christian fiction taken to a new level. They no doubt were inspired by the early writings of John Bunyan whose immortal Pilgrim's Progress has enthralled millions over the centuries.

Lewis and Tolkien were devout Christians who, like Bellamy and Wells, espoused a particular viewpoint, a personal one, albiet theirs (Lewis and Tolkien) was a viewpoint that included God. In the fictional worlds of Tolkien and Lewis, there is no absence of God. One knows the stories are allegorical and, like the Pilgrim's Progress, understands that there is a battle between good and evil. The reader knows that battle is about God and Satan and mankind's choices in those battles. Their stories are filled with biblical principles.

Today's Christian Science Fiction writers need to review their goals. Writers of Christian Fiction ought to aggressively counter the messages emanating from today's science fiction that seeks to show a world devoid of God. Christian writers need to affirmatively and creatively seek to portray fantastic worlds of the future in stunning portraits of God and His workings in the domains of humanity.

Christian Science Fiction writers can, and should seek to influence their culture today.

Writing Award Winning Fiction - The Steps To Get You There

The Universe works in mysterious ways -- most often in ways we cannot even perceive. I recently received notice that I had written award winning fiction. The funny thing of it is I used to think that in order for me to have the house of my dreams -- I would have to be living my dream life -- that of being a best-selling author.

That is not how it worked for me.

Though it took me 50 years to achieve my dream house (one that was designed by me and built in conjunction with my husband) I did achieve it (using Law of attraction principles that I've written extensively about in other locations on EzineArticles). And it is a beautiful house nestled on the Western Slope of the Sierra Nevada overlooking God's country and ten acres of natural wooded hills.

It is my dreaming ground.

Little did I know that when that life-long dream got fulfilled, all of my dreams would come clamoring at the door, begging entrance and a chance to sup at my table. Warm-heartedly and unabashedly, I opened the door and let them ALL in.

I have been a writer since I could hold a pencil. And I have reams and reams and reams of written material from before there were computers -- which means I had to hand-type them all. Or write them by hand.

When I was in my early twenties, I wrote several children's picture books that summarily got rejected one after the other -- only to find that one of the publishers I had sent my book to actually printed my book under the name of the illustrator. Argh, that was a deep-mining experience, from which I am only now recovering the gems.

This was all prior to the 1976 copyright law changes that prevented them from doing just that. What I took away from that event was somehow (convoluted though it may be) I felt I was not good enough.

I did not realize how untrue that was until just a few years ago. If I had just tilted my eyes a bit and looked at it differently I would have realized that if it is good enough to steal and publish -- it meant that I was good enough to publish!

But as we go through life, and especially if we are working on continually improving ourselves, we come to realize that our self-worth cannot be determined by anyone outside of us. We are the ones who MUST set the standard of our own self-worth. Letting someone else do that for you is giving away your power.

What happened next meant a new unfolding for me. The many books I kept on the back shelf of my mind started flying towards me, flapping their covers like wings and cooing at me, hovering above my head, first this one, then that one, until finally one touched down.

Though I had completed a non-fiction book before I wrote this novella, I did not really count that as part of my repertoire because non-fiction is really not my gig. Non-fiction is something I do easily having been a newspaper editor and reporter for several years. Non-fiction, to me, is not writing -- it's typing -- to steal a quote from Robin Williams doing a parody of Truman Capote.

I prefer to write fiction because in fiction, spirit can speak more freely to the reader without the writer getting in the way. Fiction is harder to write because it has to make sense. Truth does not. And the truth in fiction is the one the reader assigns to it -- it is not that of the writer. Fiction is a personal experience.

That's the way I like to write.

Keep that in mind when you write fiction. Your fiction must make sense even if you are asking your readers to suspend their disbelief. Make it sensible.

So how do you write award-winning fiction? Follow these few steps and you will find yourself on your way to becoming an award winning fiction wrter:

Write simply -- and write as you speak. Do not affect a voice that is not you -- this bleeds through the writing and gets all over the reader. They do not like it. It is messy and sticky.

Start with topics you know -- even in fiction -- it is more real that way.

Leave the Litter-A-Chure at the door -- Talk to your readers, do not try to impress them with your vocabulary. Otherwise you are just masturbating on the page in public. No one wants to watch. Trust me.

Open a vein -- Lawrence Block said that and he is correct. Write from your heart, not your head.

A good yarn goes a long way -- and remember it is SHOW them not TELL them.

Writer's write -- Find a way to write every day. EVERY DAY! One author wrote a mere hour a day and created more than 50 novels doing just that.

Create dialogue that is real -- there is nothing worse than stilted dialogue. Write like people talk. If you need help, go to the mall and sit where you can hear people talk, record their conversations on paper to get a "feel" for dialogue.

Develop a perspective and stick to it. Unless you are really good, stick with one perspective, tell the story from one point of view.

Leave out the boring stuff -- If it does not further the story - do not put it in.

The bottom line is that when you write, write in a manner that keeps the reader turning the page. Draw them in -- make them want to find out how it ends. Even if they do not like the ending -- if you write well enough, they will read it cover to cover. They may say "I hate that book.," of "what a stupid ending," or "I cudda done better."

But they read it and felt something about it. And to me -- that is what it is all about anyway.

Getting your readers to feel.

SPIRITUAL FICTION – What Does Fiction Have To Do With Spirituality?

When I first began to read, I never considered what "genre" the books that I was reading fell into. Like most people, I initially chose topics that I was interested in and books that looked easy to read. As my reading progressed I was able to quickly pick up a book and determine within the first few pages whether it would appeal to me. This also allowed me to check out books that I probably wouldn't have otherwise.

It was quite a few years (decades, ALMOST!) until I really discovered that I was most interested in books that could help me grow spiritually, intellectually and inwardly. I realized that some of the books that I previously enjoyed could be classed as "spiritual fiction", and most of my favourite movies fell into this category as well. Books like "The Hobbit", "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy, "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" series, and "A Christmas Carol" I read more than once, prior to my focus on spiritual fiction.

My favourite movies are "Oh, God!", "Scrooge" with Alastair Sim, "It's A Wonderful Life" and "The Lord Of The Rings" movie trilogy. It probably isn't a coincidence that I also watch all the Christmas classics still – "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer", "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas", "A Charlie Brown Christmas", "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and "The Little Drummer Boy". Probably my two favourite Christmas movies (which are getting hard to find on TV now) are "The Homecoming" based on "The Waltons", and "An American Christmas Carol" with Henry Winkler. Yes, "Fonzie" starred in a spiritual fiction classic, and if you get a chance it is well worth watching. "The Homecoming" isn't really spiritual fiction, however since I can't imagine living the way they did, it might as well be fiction for the majority of us today.

My belief or realization of spirituality probably originated way back when I was a child, watching "The Grinch", "Rudolph" and "Charlie Brown" in the days leading up to Christmas Eve, and then attending church at midnight with my parents and siblings. When we got home after church, we would sit and read "‘Twas The Night Before Christmas" before going to bed. I was too young to realize that all of those stories could be classified as spiritual fiction. I just knew that although some were scary in some places for a little kid, they always made you feel good at the end.

So, back to my title. What does fiction have to do with spirituality? Why does it seem (to me, at least) that the most memorable books and movies dealing with spirituality are mostly fiction? I am sure there are lots of exceptions – true stories that inspire and motivate people to help their fellow man - that cause up to stop and think that perhaps there is "something" or "someone" out there on our side. In my case, my memories originated with cartoon fiction as the main sources of my awakening to spirituality. Although I watched lots of other fiction and other cartoons, I don't think there are many that I can specifically recall that had a message that I would choose to watch and hear again and again.

Perhaps the single biggest reason for combining fiction with spirituality is to allow you to choose whether to believe or not. It is a way to control the outcome of a lesson in order to get a lasting, powerful impact, particularly for children, in a way that they can understand without all the verbal explanations that would confuse them. Then, as we grow older and advance (or regress?) to more complicated situations, the explanations also grow with our increased capacity to understand. As a child, I never wanted to watch "Scrooge", however now I never miss it at this time of year (I bought the VHS version years ago) even though I know the story, the outcome and virtually every line of script. Had I been made to watch it as a child, I'm sure I wouldn't look forward to watching it again every year.

It is probably also safe to assume that the shows I watch over and over again were originally made to make money, and to capture a specific audience at the time that they were made. I doubt if the creators of "Scrooge" in 1951 ever dreamed that their movie would still be widely viewed and reproduced almost sixty years later. To me, that emphasizes the enormous impact that the fiction component of a spiritual undertaking can have on its success. Was it originally profit that motivated its production? Probably. Did the spiritual message imparted through fiction contribute significantly to its ongoing success? I say yes, as it did to all of the examples I have given above.

I have not elaborated on the role that fiction plays in religion. I have not yet studied enough religions to comment intelligently, however I will let you know that I feel that parts of the Bible are fiction. I have no proof of that, but Jesus frequently taught using parables to illustrate his teachings. I can't help but think that somewhere along the line, some of the stories were embellished to make them a better read. If only the authors at the time had known that the Bible would one day be the most popular book on earth, and that embellishment wasn't necessary.

Fiction does help to make spirituality better understood. It allows me to believe that although I know Scrooge probably wasn't really visited by three spirits, because he was I can take that lesson (and others) from a book or a movie and not be disturbed while I sleep. Enjoy the Christmas season, and if you would like an excellent dose of spiritual reflection, watch a Christmas cartoon as if you were still a kid.

In our lives, at times we come across stories that are being told so reverently that we almost take it for real. Such stories can be a part of the book that has become so popular, engaging and ageless that people always remember it that it has seem to become real. When such thing happens, it is known as fictional history. And as the term suggests, it has more fictional than reality or facts. However, we find that such historical stories are a part of our social lives and many of them have been the most inspirational stories that help us to stand difficult times. One of the most common and legendary example of fictional history would be of Swiss patriot William Tell. The story states that he lived in the 14th century and he repudiated to a autocratic Austrian governor and for the fury of the governor Tell was ordered to shoot an apple placed on his son’s head. This has become a tale passed down on generation that you can find many modern plays and operas based on the life of William Tell.

While you look at fictional history closely, you can find that it also may include real history with fictional characters. Another effective example of fictional history would be The Lord of the Rings which is a very popular story that has long fictional history. Even though the fictional history in The Lord of the Rings do not resemble with real history as in William Tell, this book has become widely read and the movie watched by millions of people that the fictional history of the story is in many people’s minds.

Another stupendous example in continuation would be of the Harry Potter chronicles the life of a great wizard boy in his seven years at a wizard school. In this fascinating book authored by J K Rownlings, each book has made the previous one a history. It has also been recreated as a box office rocking movie which has created waves around the world. The fictional history involves the history of four wizards whose names were taken into the four houses of Hogwarts the wizarding school. It also has fictional history of the evil Lord Voldemort.

Fictional history can be considered as sub-genre of fiction wherein the fictional characters try to capture the real time, feel and spirit of a given non-fictional history. Many books focusing on fictional history have been written. Also, there are plenty of television shows, movie shows and theater that feature fictional history. Authors of these stories have become famous due to the fact that many fictional history have become very famous that people sometimes confuse them with real history. English novelit Christopher Hart is a fictional history author who wrote about Rome and Atilla in their final days. Another fictional history author is British author Conn Iggulden. His main genre in writing is really on historical fiction.

Romance fiction is mainly defined as the imaginary story of love between people. This imagination is put down in writing to form a romance novel or romance literary work. Romance fiction is one of the oldest genres and definitely one of the most distinguished. People who are responsible for creating this kind of fiction are called romantic authors. It is pretty amazing thinking about some of the work that has been brought forth by the authors. The best thing about fiction is that all things are possible. Writers are able to bring twists to a tale and bring out not only the entertainment but also the lesson that is hidden. Love has a way to inspire a lot of fiction and, if you feel you are one of those people who love the fiction, you can easily try your hand at it. There are so many fictions for romance available for your to read. If you desire to read some classic tales for love, you will be in a position to do so easily. There are also modern fictions which cannot be compared to the old kind but, certainly with the unbeaten edge and twist of the modern life.

A typical romance fiction might be anchored in an exciting setting. The historical aspects and others might feature prominently. Two people from the opposite sex will have their story of love told. Drama is the best word to describe how the fiction will play out. All fictions will have a certain plot. However, one common thing or sure thing in the romance fiction is that there will be love. The people will be used to communicate undying love to readers; love that is able to surpass all other things that you can imagine. People have been inspired to enter into relationships while others have been encouraged to work things out in the relationships. Sometimes, critics say that the fiction will exaggerate the emotion of love an present some unrealistic play outs in the fiction or drama. This is an aspect that makes the story more exciting but, it might not have real or practical application.

Romance fiction can be viewed in various categories. You will find modern or contemporary fiction. You will also find fiction that is historical. There is also one that is paranormal. This is where the writer incorporates some superhuman or extra terrestrial occurrences in a love story. There is science fiction romance. It is closely related to time travel fiction. This is where the imagination goes wild and some of the things that are not common to science actually come to be. There are many lovers of this kind of romance. It is definitely entertaining as you celebrate love in all spheres. You will also find multicultural romance which is one between several cultures. The most common fiction of romance is erotic. This is the one that contains lots of sexual content which is made very obvious to the reader. It is also known as romantica therefore, the next time you want to read a love story, use the above knowledge to buy something you love.

Science Fiction Books: Unlimited Thrill, Unlimited Fun
