Had news letter from Breck Stewart this morning, it reads as follows.

Now with a last note, I am sure you are all aware by now of the infamous night RN's charts went ballistic. At least it sure seemed that way to me. Last Wednesday as I checked out my profile I saw that I had lost many chart positions. I went globally from 44 to 72 and locally in SF from 2 to 6. But strangely enough, my band equity score didn't budge (0) and remained at 3550 same as the previous night. If this sort of tumble had only happened to me, I would have figured that I somehow didn't get enough listeners for that day and would have shrugged it off.

But the frightening thing was that it seemed to affect almost every artist on RN. Half of them saw huge gains in chart positions (between 30 and 60) while the other half saw huge declines. As if everything had been reversed in one night. This unusual activity couldn't possibly happen at random because this would mean that there was somehow a huge influx of new listeners signing up on RN on that particular day and listening to every artist from half of RN's population. Nothing is ever that clean or precise in terms of chart action.

To me this really feels like some technical bug and I'm hoping to hear from RN about it. I tried to inquire but they don't accept feedback at the moment. I have been very active on RN now for more than a year and yes, how the band equity score is calculated is still mystifying and difficult to pinpoint but there are certain things I've come to learn about it.

And somehow, to see a huge swipe affecting every artist all at once just feels weird and out of place. Yes, I am one who actually lost a lot in this while many others actually gained from it so of course I feel a bit vexed by it. But my hope is simply to understand what happened so if any of you have theories or explanations to give me, I would love to hear from you. I love RN with all my heart and no matter what, I won't stop caring for some reason even if some might remind me that charts shouldn't really matter. But it matters to me and I'm not ashamed to admit it. So there, it's out lol

On good friday 2010 this gentleman,pushing a battered out pram,walked into our village in France.
He stopped to talk for just 15 minutes.
Fifteen minutes of listening to his story and watching his glistening smile. He said he has walked continuously for three years through 10 countries spending only 3.50 euros a day for his needs. When we asked when he would go home he replied he had no idea when his journey would end. He only requested water so that he might continue on his "mission". Emma Mory has added a her interpretation of "Les Gitans" to the video. We hope anyone who meets this man on his travels affords him aid if he needs. A wonderful gentleman - who just happens to look like "John the Baptist" from the film Jesus of Nazerath !
