It's a gift to end it also.
We get so used to the monotonous living,
And take for granted the fact that we're still existing.
Live this day like there's no tomorrow,
Prepare your tomorrow like today's all you got.
Weird that the first thing to cross my mind hearing of another's demise is 'Life goes on'
That truth it is.
Life would not stand still for the death of another.

We are irredeemably social as humans and love to interact, so we build relationships. There's a Yoruba saying that goes, 'Humans are like water courses' so we part to meet and meet to part.

Have you ever found yourself having difficulty someplace you are not too familiar with, and then someone you knew or knew you somewhere else comes into the picture to save the day? That's the value of the littlest forms of relationships built.

The reasons you should build relationships is not because you want favors or to make money from them, but because you can build a dependable bond, learn humility, and add value. So how do you do this?

Be friendly to people you see everyday, greet them, you may be lightning someone up for the rest of the day with just a smile. It's a good way to increase your circle of friends, and make peace.

Integrity, try to be sure of what you say to be true and stand by it. People don't like to deal with others whose words and will waiver. Be decisive and assertive.

Pay Attention, be observant of people's needs, they are opportunities for you to offer value. This way you teach yourself to be desired by others. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Be down to earth, even fake people don't like to have fake people around them. Don't be in the clouds of eloquence and brilliance all the time, bring it home, speak pidgin if you can't speak their local language. Abeg! No forming. Let others find it easy to relate with you and your experiences no matter what side of the divide you're on. Let them think you exceptional, not strange.

Last but not the least...

Be receptive: Make others feel wanted and relevant by receiving from them. Ask questions, for directions, how to do things and receive gifts (according to your discretion). People around you feel good to know they can add value to you also.

PS: I'm on this journey too.

LIVE,LEARN,LOVE!

It's that time of the year again, that time they call the 'Season of Love' (Sorry, I'm not a big fan). I guess this particular day records the highest number of marriage proposals every year. You know I'm talking about Valentine's day.

Last year, one of my secondary school seniors got a proposal on the radio on Val's day (The guy proposed to her on radio, just in case you don't understand) it was mushy...you know...and it worked for her, they married in December.

When you see 'I'm not a big fan' of Valentine's day, it does not mean I'm a hater (maybe just a table fan LOL), God knows I'm a romantic, I just don't show it.

Maybe one of the reasons why I'm not a big fan of Valentine is because my romantic relationships have not lasted till Valentine's yet. But seriously, the thing that makes Valentine not tick for me is that I may be expecting something if I'm in a romantic relationship and I hate expecting, because it is synonymous to extreme apprehension or (God forbid) an OCD for that thing I'm expecting.

Marriage proposal is an overwhelming experience especially for ladies, guys should not think that ladies want marriage so bad, they don't care how you ask.

We ladies are the ones who like to talk about the proposal stories. Tiwa Savage's birthday party cum proposal this week, was what got us gisting about how we like or do not like to be proposed to. The following are the views of ladies who could not resist the juicy gist that morning, just before the work started weighing.

Mjady
I would not like a proposal on a day I'm expecting surprises, like Val's day or my birthday. It won't work for me, my mind would have gone far and wide about what, how and where the surprises would come from. I'd like it innovative and unexpected, but not overboard.

Yem
I hope I get a proposal on Valentine's day, it would be so lovely. I just want to hear those words.

ML
He proposed on one of our outings, I was not expecting it. We were on a boat cruise and that was all I was excited about till we got to the middle of the ocean and the boat stopped. I was wondering whatever may have happened while he feigned trying to pick a call and bringing his phone out of his pocket. The next thing I know is, he going on one knee with a ring in his hand...*gasp*

Tomy
The first proposal I received was at the airport, I was returning from a trip. I was approaching my boyfriend who was supposed to receive me when I saw him go on one knee, I was totally embarrassed. I accepted, just to avoid embarrassing him in front of that crowd. After that day, I declined his proposal because I was not ready for marriage, but we remained friends. Years after that we were in a romantic relationship again and he proposed in a better way this time. Our marriage is almost two years old now.

Desy
Any day is special for a marriage proposal in my opinion, the guy should be creative with his 'element of surprise' and make it special for his lady.

*I wish this was a disclaimer but Mjady, is single Yem is dating, ML is engaged, Tomy and Desy are married.

Now it's your turn to share your thots.

It Takes Courage To Live

On Monday morning this week, I was reading a CV that didn't seem like the owner should be applying for the post of a driver. I would have thought him an executive (Just by his dressing) if he didn't open his mouth to say he was applying for the job vacancy. If I was HR, I don't think I would have had liver to employ him as a driver. I can't help thinking what unfortunate factor caused his present situation. But that's not what breaks my heart.

Waiting to be called for final test driving, he makes a call and at the other end of the line is the most beautiful voice I've ever heard. "Are you back from school?...Do you have any money with you?" He asked.

"No" she answered. He mentioned something about her going to meet someone then the call ended. He excused himself to use the convenience...I got teary eyed.

The thing is, it's not everyone that has to courage to live after life throws a big stone into their stable pond. I don't know what office this man held before coming to apply to be someone's driver, but what one thing I know he has is 'Courage'. That is what makes a man do something about the suffering of his family, throwing aside pride, ego, and shame. Not every man does this, that I'm sure of, so I celebrate the ones I see.

Cheers! To this man of courage.

NB: This is not his picture.

He also had ardent followers he called 'disciples' and sought to teach them as they lived from day to day. He taught his followers and listeners mostly in parables but one day he sought to teach them in a practical class.

They were on one of their crusades, he had taught and ministered to them, it was getting closer to dusk and he perceived the crowd that had been with him would be hungry by now. His disciples perceived alike and said to him to send the crowd to nearby farms and villages to feed themselves, but the teacher refused and asked them to do something about it. Though he knew what to do.

One of the disciples said "Even if we worked for months we won't get money that may feed this multitude." Another disciple found someone's lunch, five barley loaves and two fish, just after the teacher had asked what they had and for the multitude to be numbered "But what can this do for Five thousand men?" He wondered aloud as he handed them over to the teacher.

The teacher asked his disciples to get the multitude seated, when that was done he lifted the lunch and his face heavenward and gave thanks, then he broke the lunch passing it on to his disciples to serve the multitude. Everyone ate, when they were satisfied, the teacher asked the leftover be gathered. When the leftover was gathered it filled twelve baskets. Once again it was another wondrous work, but did they learn the lesson?

This is the parable of leverage; using what you don't own to get what you want.

I hope you can read between the lines too.

He said she was business smart, contrary to most rich kids who place no value on money and squander it.

I opposed.
Yes some rich kids do waste money, but there's a higher possibility for a rich kid to end up rich than a poor kid ending up rich.

He opposed.
When all they do is inherit the family's wealth and don't know how to manage it, they don't stay rich. Poor kids know the value of hard work, work for money and value money when they get it.

I agreed but not totally.
Even if rich kids lose money, it is not entirely the 'end of the road' for them.
Rich kids grew in environments that taught them not to fear money, poor kids learn to fear money and their owners.
Rich kids learn business studies in practical situations better than poor kids who may be struggling to understand the theories taught in class, because they don't find it applicable around them.

Rich kids observe the importance of relationship for leverage and learn how to use them to their advantage faster than poor kids who have learnt to base most relationships on sentiments.
Rich kids learn, to take risks, take opportunities and take action, from their parents and relations who do the same as opposed to poor kids who are gravely discouraged from taking any risks or attribute all life's circumstances to the hand of God.
And who says hard work alone has guaranteed wealth for anyone?
Rich kids just have a higher probability of getting financial and business intelligence.

<strike>"With these few points of mine, I hope I've been able to confuse you and not to convince you that..."</strike>

All in favor of poor kids who do get rich, please drop your ThotsToShare. ;)

SOS : Six and Molested.

There are a lot of incidences that occur to people everyday that indicate that the world is ailing and would still be, but it doesn't mean that nothing should be done about the world's ailments.

*Funsho who is not able to cater for the education of all his children turns to his siblings for help, and his idea of help is scattering his children across his siblings' families so as to get them educated. *Queen moved to stay with her aunt when she was Four years old so she could get educated, but she has been handling responsibilities far from her age's capability. Now she returns from school everyday to wait for hours outside the house, hungry and unattended to, till her aunt returns from her shop with her cousins who attend a different school and are dropped to be with their mum till they retire to their home. *Queen is now Six years old and not just waiting after school unattended to, a neighbor has sighted her in the mallam's shop being molested by the pervert. *Queen denied it when she was asked what happened.

I've not been so settled after hearing this story, these happenings are the foundations of the promiscuous girls of tomorrow. I wondered if there was a rescue operation body out there that can save Queen from the neglect and abuse she's experiencing everyday..

You can say this is not my business, but I'm on her case would still be on her case till there's a way out for Queen.
I've been trying to write a post on gratefulness and gratitude and I'm still on it, but this morning I came across a Facebook post shared by one of my contacts who shared someone else's thoughts, so I decided to share it with you. What does that make me? :)
Freddy Ogugua Esenwa wrote: (I also strongly believe)

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen, and it really puts things into Perspective..

I had a dream that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ‘This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.’

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section..

The angel then said to me, ‘This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.. ‘I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. ‘This is the Acknowledgment Section,’ my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed ‘How is it that there is no work going on here?’ I asked.

‘So sad,’ the angel sighed. ‘After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments .’

‘How does one acknowledge God’s blessings?’ I asked.

‘Simple,’ the angel answered. Just say, ‘Thank you, Lord.’

‘What blessings should they acknowledge?’ I asked.

‘If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy .’

‘And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.’

‘If you woke up this morning with more health than illness … You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day .’

‘If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation … You are ahead of 700 million people in the world.’

‘If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world. ‘

‘If your parents are still alive and still married …you are very rare .’

‘If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair.’

Ok, what now? How can I start? If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are....and indeed we really are blessed!

We were preparing Sunday lunch, and I'm still trying to recall how the discussion started.

Ok! Triple A stepped into the kitchen wanting something to snack on before lunch was ready, he asked if the cereal was for our nephew who was around with his mum.

Mobbie said it was for everyone.

Triple A thought out loud that it was adult food that the baby would still grow to eat.

Mjady said if it was for our nephew, it won't be bad for him to eat it, that he would just be eating ounje omo (I don't know how to translate that to English in two words)

Triple A replied that it was okay for a child to eat the food for adults but not the other way round, and the same thing with clothes.

Mobbie and Mjady argued with Triple A playfully, that it's just ounje omo, as a parent you would j'ounje omo, especially as a mother, what if the baby doesn't finish the food? You wouldn't throw it away now, and there's no big deal in it afterall.

Triple A retorted that we were wombiliki, wobia. Then he opened the door of the refrigerator, picked up the half drunk up Caprisonne he saw and sipped, then asked to whom it belonged.

Mobbie replied that he was taking ounje omo , we laughed at him.

Then he said "You see that's how life is o, people don't see your intentions, they only see your actions."

WERD!! (Pun intended)

When you stand for something and you've bragged about your standing, you may fall into traps that make your actions contradict your intentions.

Let he who stands take heed...

Making Your 2013 Resolutions Work.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! HAPPY 2013!

source

At the start of each year, we perceive new beginnings, we give ourselves new opportunities to be better at one thing or the other. So we set goals called 'New Year Resolutions'

You may have set new year resolutions in the past and not seen yourself accomplish them, so you have given up on the 'resolution' thing. But hey, if you aim at nothing you would hit it every time.

So here is a simple way of setting goals and achieving them.

Be aware of your thoughts and eliminate negative thoughts by not paying attention to them e.g Don't think I would not be sick, think I am healthy.

Write your goals as a list of things that you want, instead of a set things you MUST do. Adding necessity introduces pressure and fear. After all goals are a finish in sight we would love to see.

Don't shortchange yourself, dare, take risks, go out of your comfort zone with what you want.

Don't be afraid to plunge in and take opportunities in achieving these goals, in the process you would learn from your successes and failures.

Cultivate the habit of gratefulness, see every goal as accomplished and give thanks to God everyday for them.

Try these method faithfully and you would be happy with the results you get.

This year I want to be unsensationally sensational. Watch me as I get there.

Her husband died last year and her daughter this year. Anna was not sure of how the year was going to end for her, because she has three more children to stay alive for.

Surviving everyday has been nothing but God's grace, living from hand to mouth from the petty sales of snacks and drinks to auto mechanics. Anna's business can hardly grow bigger than what it is because of her overwhelming responsibilities.

Truthfully, it saddens me to hear that reservations for an entertainment event cost a fortune that could be the answer someone else's life problems. We go ahead everyday living like, 'since situations like Anna's do not affect us directly, they are not our business'.

Circumstances like Anna's may not be our problem but we can be their solution. We could be an arm of comfort for someone whose child within has been threatened by life's storms.

Am I a sadist who says people should not invest in entertaining themselves? No.

Six couples paid Anna's family a visit and provided her with food stuff and her children with schooling materials that they need. They spend almost half a day with her family sharing material and immaterial things. Afterwards they head for the beach to have more fun.

Anna is truly grateful some aspects of her burdens have been lifted by people who decided to be an outstretched part of God's hands.

Celebration is what we should do everyday for one reason or the other, but we are not to be oblivious of the sufferings of those we pass by everyday wherever we may find them.

Reach out this season of celebration, put more than a smile on a family's face, make someone keep their hope alive and grateful that you exist.

I hope you take a cue.

5 Ways To Win Your Private Battles

There are certain territories you have to win privately, they are:

1. The territory of external influence: Coming to place where you are in control of what force and giving access to forces that influence you in one way or the other.

2. The territory of perspective: This is the way you see yourself, others, what you desire and situations that bind you and these things in one way or the other.

3. The territory of fear: I guess you have heard that courage is not the absence of fear. It is the dwelling on our fears that brings what we fear to reality.

4. The territory of thought creation: This is a lot of work but it is expedient for the winning of any battles at all, because battles start from the center of our thoughts. That's why winning the territory of external influence is important too. Thoughts create what you see and the truth is you can control your thoughts to aid your journey.

5. The territory of persistence and perseverance: This is continual action in other words, this is not easy but all these territories are intertwined and have to work together.

Tests and examinations come before certificates. Read the quote above again.

These are thotstoshare as I live learn and love.

Do you think something that is addictive is a problem?

The assumption in today's world is that sex is just another biological drive that must be gratified, and everything is beginning to center around sex.

I would like to know, has anyone ever died from not having his sexual urges satisfied?

It's either condom use or masturbation that is encouraged for those who can't abstain. A good stand on abstinence is avoided like a plague in anything that is supposed to influence people's lifestyles as in everything like fashion, electronic and paper media.

Everything is centered around sexual gratification and perversion is more convincingly seen as nature

Not because I'm confused or not sure about my stand on this, in fact it's very far from that.

I just want to know, if man is so weak that devices have to be created to always cushion the weakness.

Must everything center on human sexual gratification?

TGIF! : 3 Places To Be This Weekend.

This would be a fast one. I asked for suggestions on what to do last Friday and didn't get one response, well I can not vex and decide no to talk to you again. So, here are a few suggestions of how you can unwind this weekend.

1. The eXperience : The annual gospel music concert that holds every first Friday in December at TBS, Lagos, started in 2007, showcasing both local and international gospel acts and an opportunity for citizens to intercede for this country. It's happening today. It is an 'all night' music concert that hosts the largest crowd for a show of its kind with no gate fee required. So get prepared to, go early so as to save a good seat, deal with the crowd, go with a survival kit and be security conscious too. It's always an event to remember, it's always an experience.

Source

2. Go Christmas shopping at 'Lost In Lagos Live' : This is the best part and I'm starting with it. A lunch buffet will be available for those who get hungry after all their shopping!
Date: Saturday 8th December 2012 – Sunday 9th December 2012

Time: 12 noon – 7 pm (on both days)

Venue: Federal Palace Hotel, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Tickets: FREE!

You should check here for more details.

3. Daystar Christian Centre Christmas Carol by 5 PM on Sunday 9th December 2012, the theme is 'Rejoice', the venue is Plot A3c Ikosi Road, Oregun Lagos, and its free. This is a carol concert you would not like to miss, don't be told. It's the best ever.

I hope you engage yourself with good stuff and have fun this weekend, not just on the owambe side.

Catch ya leyrra,

Mjady

I also left the office with the thought of how to get water to have my bath tomorrow morning, at the back of my mind.

What happened?!

It should be about two months or over now, when my sister said she received an SMS from the electricity service provider that there would be erratic power supply for some days for the reason they stated in the text message. So for once, we started believing that maybe this could actually mean a transformation in the operations and the service rendered by NEPA , the accustomed name for electric power authority in Nigeria though its name has been changed to 'power holding' instead.

They sent an SMS the last time right? Now I'm wondering if that won't be the only SMS notification we ever get from NEPA , because this time 'they' just took the light like 'they' normally would at any time of the day and since then electricity was not returned for six days straight.

Because our 'better pass your neighbor' generator can't carry the pumping machine and even kept developing fault, we could not pump water too. When we were done managing what was left in the water tank, meruwa (Northerners who fetch and sell water in Jerry cans) became a very pleasant face to see, became king in place of the customers patronizing them and made one to think of starting the business too (That's a joke).

Almighty OAU! Who does aluta like no other, I know this kind of rubbish would never be condoned on OAU Ile-Ife campus. Even with a memo about the situation. Anything that causes students all around hostels to have to search for water for more than two days or have erratic power supply for about that time is taunting them for a protest. Before you know it, you are hearing the bugle for you to join the 'struggle' with explanations in thick political vocabulary.

If electrical power did not return by this evening it would have been a week NEPA took our electricity without explanation. But no, God saved them 'they' returned our light last night.

Like the same thing that happens in OAU was going to happen here too *scoffs*. I'm sure people who know the aluta drill and participated in their time, live in the same area I reside, but don't even have the guts to do so now and I wonder why. Is it 'Bystanders effect' or what?

They returned our electricity and I'm glad I don't have to smile at meruwa (for now) because I want water.

The release of the new and official video for the song 'The Way I Feel' on Youtube is not a day old yet and has had over eight thousand views already.

You can take a look at the video and share what you feel about it. As in the interpretation of the whole song, lyrics, the theme and if you like it.

Then I stumbled on the live performance and I'm thinking you have to see it too.

I don't have a thing for Nigerian typecast actors/actresses that are just overrated. But...

About a month ago when the release of Tonto Dike's debut single was an opportunity for Nigerians to flex their creative comic abilities, my brother and I argued objectively on the possibility of it being a publicity strategy.
Why Do You Scream TGIF?
As I gradually got conscious from sleep this morning, I was thinking it was Saturday so I had the license to sleep a little more. Then I remembered it was Friday and mumbled a 'Thank God its Friday' that sounded like 'I wish it was Saturday'. What I really wanted was the ending of Friday not the beginning.

When I got to the office I overheard one of my colleagues ask if today was Thursday, when she heard that it was Friday instead, she screamed excitingly, 'Thank God its Friday'. I could really understand because Thursday is the most hectic day for us at the company.

I wondered why working class people always screamed TGIF. I understood why when I was in Secondary school. Though Fridays during my University days didn't make any difference for me, I always judged from the other side of being employed in 8-5 jobs that screaming TGIF meant an unfulfilled life on the job.

I guess I'm about to eat my words (No! thots), cause I'm sure I'm not ready to admit that I'm beginning to look like a 'butterfly in a wheel' when I don't feel like getting up from the bed on Monday mornings.

:^) I'm wondering why because I've never screamed TGIF with excitement. I wonder what makes Fridays special. I know the weekend that starts with Friday means time unwind, but I just wonder why the thrill about unwinding.

TGIF! and I plan to rock this Friday till Monday.

But I'm not sure I know how that 's going to happen.
How do you plan to spend the weekend?
Where do you intend to go to have great fun?
Maybe I could take a cue from you.

Please don't include laundry or house chores o. LOL!
"I don't understand, we're still friends, are you saying we should not talk?"
"I'm not saying that, but I'm just wondering how you are going to move on from a relationship that has ended over six months ago. How do you intend to get into another relationship, if you are still hanging on to this one that has ended?"

To show you, who did not start reading this blog site from the beginning, the posts that have been written in the past.

In the space of sunrise and sunset feelings could change from high and butterflies in my tummy, to low and with a broken heart.

It seems every time I try to give love a shot it keeps backfiring.

What's the bone of contention?

He seemed really interested in me, nice, and we got talking.

And every bit of detail he told me about himself did not turn me off.

Till I became his friend on Facebook and I saw the pictures on his timeline...

Oh no! I can't be compatible with that kind of lifestyle, things that look like porn, he drinks and so on...

Are you sure you're not being judgmental? I guess he was being open with himself, not hiding his lifestyle from something as public as social media.

Am I?

I was beginning to like him!

But there are somethings that would not go down well with me.

As confused as I feel right now, knowing that I like him already

You could say I'm not sure of what I want...but I'm really sure of what I DON'T want.

You seem angry too. So why do you have a broken heart?

I don't know... the way I was knowing and liking him, it just seemed very disappointing that he was not all that I was thinking he was or should I say he's not what I was expecting him to be.

I feel terrible liking someone who I think I can't have a healthy relationship with because I'm not cool with his lifestyle.

It seems like I should know what to do, but really what should I do?

She mops the tears welled up in her eyes with a white handkerchief she kept handy.

Imagine you are the person sitting across this woman telling you what she's going through what would you tell her?

Have you ever reached that point that you feel a step further would break you? Oh! You've heard so many messages for comfort in time of despair. But really this is true.

Let me divert a little. The laws in Chemistry are very meticulous, you have to be precise with them, anything goes wrong the whole thing goes wrong. I think I have witnesses from people who were in chemistry labs in secondary school, doing things that didn't so much make sense to them and they could not apply to their everyday lives.

One thing I've understood lately is 'Faith is a law'. A law that defies present circumstantial reality, that brings things into existence before they are created, it is the creative force God placed in us that must be absolutely functional at all times till the creation is physically manifested.

Hmmn!

If I'm in an environmental situation of lack, what is faith?

Generating thoughts, imagery, confessions and actions of supply till I see the supply which is my genuine and preferred reality. To generate thoughts, imagery, confessions and actions of anything contrary spoils the process of creation by altering it or slowing it down.

"And it is impossible to please God without faith"

God placed himself in us by giving us his nature, he gave us the power to create and placed it in our will to faith. He created by faith and also encrypted our DNA with the ability to do the same.

"By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command , that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen"

Man who enjoys naming things, and has named this all kinds of things too, including the 'law of attraction'.

As we have God's life in us, we can't survive without faith. It is the only life line and life jacket we have to keep walking on water.

This is not dogma, this is not one of those religious jargon. THIS IS FAITH AND IT IS A LAW.

"Faith is SUBSTANCE of things hoped for; the EVIDENCE of things not seen"

It starts with you thinking it possible to have faith.

Taking Rubbish

"What rubbish! I can't take that!"

Sounds familiar to you? We humans most times are so fast to show off and let everyone know what they can or can not take. Is that a bad thing? Well, not absolutely. We often place ourselves on high pedestal and try to send messages to our people environment that we are not to be treated badly even by people with high social status. This seems like the most natural reaction to any ill treatment we get from interacting with others, but I do not agree to it totally. We are fast to show our prowess to prove our worth, to compensate our self esteem, and put up defense when we sense the slightest form of threat to it.

There's something I learnt somewhere about Self control. Picture a trained stallion, a horse with great racing prowess, it knows and obeys it owner, it understands the commands, prompts and inhibitions it gets from its rider and obeys them. So when it is told to stop, run fast or trot it obeys; not because it doesn't have the ability to race and charge how it likes but its strength lies in being able to subject its will to the one who rides it.

My mentor said something "The more rubbish you take the higher you go". It really got me thinking about the true meaning of humility since then. God elevates those who are lowly and he despises the haughty. This is emphasized in God's word and He acknowledges the humble, entrusting with them great responsibility. For example David (I really like his example), Saul (Whether you think so or not humility was one of the things that made him Israel's first king), Moses, Abraham, the list goes on. The ultimate example is Jesus Christ who knew who He was and His capabilities but subjected Himself to the will and pleasure of He who sent Him, and willingly laid down his life for the world even though it was not easy.

So before you start raining fire and brimstone for the rubbish you can't take, take it slow and give the right response.

You do have thostoshare about this, please feel free to do so. God bless.
His father smiled observing his four year old try to fit in his shoes. He stopped and his son stopped too looking to him to say something to justify why they were stopping.
"You want to stretch your leg as long as I can?" He asked.

His son nodded with saucer sized eyes
"Just keep eating the food, vegetables and fruits your mum gives you to eat everyday"
"Everyday?" He must have thought that to be a lot of work
"Yes, Just keep doing that everyday and you'd keep stretching your legs a little more than you do now. And son, this applies to the things that you see as beyond you"
The four year old nodded like he wasn't sure he understood what his father was saying, but he was taking it in any way.

So it is with every goal we set on paper or even in our imaginations and the person we want to be. We may get really discouraged about the actualization of our goals but even at the moment of our discouragement we are not to STOP, but keep at it. I know you've probably heard this before and not just once, but persistence at the right thing can not be over flogged.

So here it is again. I meditated on this scripture and ThotToShare with you.

Romans 12 :5-9

I tried my hands on something today, I resumed at work today
and about thirty minutes after, one of my bosses said something that was not a
good report of my performance so far at this new job. I knew this report wasn’t
going to positively influence my performance today and I didn’t want that to
happen. So what did I do?

At first I tried fighting the emotions I was beginning to
have on the low side, I looked for mantras to put me back on track, then tried
commanding my thoughts to go the positive direction but it just seemed like
everything I did to divert my thoughts to the positive was just aggravating its
present state.

Then it began ringing that I should try listening to music.
I was wise not to start with fast music or something in the high. Instead, I started
with the state I was in and music that would heal that state was a solemn,
reflective but not depressive music. It identified with the state of my mind
and eased out the tension. I really understand that soothing effect of music
now.

Since there was a time of great mental receptiveness (called
a psychological moment), this was an opportunity to take my mind to the desired
state. The next thing I did was to switch to the kind of music that would make
me really smile. It works every time and it worked this time again.

So here’s a link to the video, I think you should take a
look and tell me if you smiled at any part of the song.
