Why is it that only a tiny percentage of the world population go on to accomplish some extraordinary things in their lifetime, while the rest simply tick along from birth to death?
I wonder what it is that we are so afraid of, and how we can break through the barriers that are keeping us safe, but not necessarily happy, so that we can go accomplish some amazing things.
Now, when I say "accomplish some amazing things" I am not saying we all have to head for the Arctic, climb the highest mountain possible, or cross the most treacherous desert... I am talking about those things you've always wanted to do: lose that extra weight, get a new job, speak at that event, meet that special person, travel around the world... whatever it is that you really want to do, what's stopping you?
My guess is that it is not lack of desire. I am sure you want it, badly. Maybe you need some resources, may be you need some skills, a little direction or support to help you along the way. But even if you had everything you need, would you actually get into action and make things happen? My experience with clients has led me to believe that even when they have everything they need, most people still hesitate.
There are two types of people I deal with in my practice. The first type will say "Anna, just tell me what to do and I'll do it". So I tell them what to do, and they go do it. This is a rare occurrence.
The second type can have all the money they need, all the time, all the resources and support... and still, they are paralysed, crippled by fear and self-doubt.
The infamous "what if": what if I lose weight and then I put it all back on? What if I go for that job and I don't get it? What if I talk to that girl and she rejects me? etc...
Some of the most ridiculous questions one could ask oneself. Not very useful at all, especially if you want to succeed at anything.
See, according to scientists we are born with only two innate fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises, every other fear we've learned. Fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of rejection... It's not any of those things that make us afraid. It is the meaning we have learned to give those things.
Throughout history, fear has played an important role in taming the masses. Religion, the government, the education system, the media, our own families... they all have contributed to building many of the irrational fears we hold on to.
I was brought up in a household full of those: fear of what other people will think or say, fear of taking risks or doing anything out of the ordinary, fear of poverty, fear of failure... all the ingredients necessary for a lifetime full of misery!
But we don't want to be miserable. We want to be happy. So it's time we free ourselves of whatever bullshit we've been holding on to, it's time to get over our fears and self doubt so we can finally go achieve those things we want to achieve.
Some fears have been so ingrained in our subconscious that it takes time and effort to recondition our mind into thinking more usefully. However, from my experience with clients, the main factor in overcoming any fear is reaching a point when you've just had enough. A point when you think about whatever it is that makes you afraid and you go "this is ridiculous!".
I left Spain for Ireland almost fourteen years ago, at age twenty two, with a one way plane ticket and three hundred pounds in my pocket. To this day clients and friends ask me: weren't you afraid to come over on your own to a new country where you didn't know anyone? Hell yes I was afraid! But I was more afraid to go back to what I'd left behind: a life of mediocrity, negativity, and stupid fears that made no sense to me. The thought of having to go back was enough of a propulsion system for me to do anything, anything to make it work for myself here.
Sometimes, as author Susan Jeffers says, you have to feel the fear and do it anyway. Because once you've taken action, the closer you get to your objective, the more you're going to want it. And any silly fears you may have left, will simply dissipate.
Also, you have to be willing to fail and don't let failure affect your ego. Because failure is not a reflection of who you are, it's just a message to try again and do something different this time.
If you're struggling with an issue, if you really want to do something that self-doubt or fear has been keeping you from doing, I recommend you take it head on. Don't let past failures, other people's fears or insecurities, the economy, or whatever excuse you've been making get in your way.
Failure is necessary for success. Anyone who has succeeded at anything has had to take risks. With risk comes failure. And with failure comes success.
So, if you've failed before, so what! You better try as much as you can in this life, because once you die, you'll have no more chances.
Can Hypnosis Induce False Memory Syndrome?

Ok... In a nutshell... No, hypnosis should not be used to recover memories and yes, hypnosis does increase the chances of false memory syndrome.
With those two statements stated, I better explain myself, hadn't I?
Hypnosis is at the centre of this debate, and a hearty one it is too, mainly because it is one of the most researched and most popular techniques used for recovering memories.
In fact, in 1995, Poole, Lindsay, Memon and Bull conducted a survey that demonstrated that roughly a third of all psychologists in the US used hypnosis to help their patients to recall memories of sexual abuse.
There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that there are many problems of false recall associated with hypnosis, yet many of the hypnotherapists I encounter today still think hypnosis should be used to recover memories. In fact, at the recent NCH extravaganza, when Irving Kirsch was speaking, he asked the audience of hypnotherapists to raise their hands if they used regression techniques, my students reported that they all kept their hands down despite most in the room having them raised.
Hypnotherapists need to know that using hypnosis to recover memories can actually lead to the patient creating new material and adding it to the existing memories they have. There is a huge body of scientific and medical information available that shows the very nature of memory being so malleable means that hypnosis usage could result in the creation and implanting of false memories. Studies by both Lynn and McConkey in 1998 and Lynn and Nash in 1994 demonstrate this clearly.
In other articles I have written about regression, I mentioned the reconstructive nature of memory and do refer to the Lynn and McConkey study of 1998 for more information on this. It is very much the consensus among cognitive scientists that this is the case.
You see, not only is memory unreliable, but people have such belief in the reliability of their memories to such an extent that we are capable of creating false memories, even if a therapist is greatly skilled at not leading the patient in any way, shape or form. Further studies that confirm this have been conducted by Laurence and Perry in 1983 and Barnier and Sheehan in 1998.
False memories can easily be created without hypnosis, of course they can. Yet many therapists continue to believe that hypnosis somehow brandishes the absolute truth when it comes to memory recall, and the truth is actually a tad more sinister.
In 1994 Erdelyi reviewed 34 studies, and Steblay and Bothwell reviewed 24 studies and throughout they showed that hypnosis does increase the actual volume of recall... With that volume of recall comes much more incorrect as well as correct information and data! The studies revealed however, that hypnotic recall is no more accurate than nonhypnotic recall... But, when recalled hypnotically, people tended to be more confident in the reliability of the memory! Uh-oh!
The Steblay and Bothwell study showed that hypnosis produces a lot more errors in memory recall and more volume of memories that had false information in them. There are lots more studies that support this.
Even researchers and individuals that openly state hypnosis is good for aiding recall have been unable to prove it! Some of these proponents have suggested that emotional arousal is required, yet a study in 997 by Lynn et al, showed that hypnosis does not improve recall of emotionally arousing events and what's more... Being highly emotional does not affect hypnotic recall either!
Out of everything that I have read and examined, probably the most damning evidence for using hypnosis to recall memories comes from the research conducted by Nash, Drake, Wiley, Khalsa and Lynn in 1986. In this study, they attempted to match up (prove) memories of participants who had been age-regressed using hypnosis.
The participants were regressed using hypnosis (there was a control group too) and taken to the age of 3 to a scene where they were with their mothers. The participants described items and objects that were present. The actual mothers were then asked to verify what was in the scene. The hypnotised participants in the study were less able than those in the control group (the nonhypnotised people asked to do the same thing) to accurately match the reports of their parents. In fact, the control group were far more accurate!
A similar study conducted in 1997 by Sivec, Lynn and Malinowski regressed the participants to 5 years old with very similar results!
This is why the vast majority of countries today no longer allow hypnosis to be used in testimony in courts of law. In fact, in some states in the US, if you have used hypnosis to retrieve the memory, because of the evidence I have mentioned, the use of hypnosis makes the testimony null and void!
Evidence suggests that when the hypnotherapist believes strongly in the efficacy of hypnosis for memory recall, then the patient has much more confidence in the reliability of the memory! This is a problem people!
I cannot help it, I know I am using loads exclamation marks today, but when you see the mounting body of evidence against this stuff, it beggars belief that some people still think to the contrary. You know what, I still get emails from people saying that in their experience as a hypnotherapist, they find hypnosis to be very useful at retrieving memories and regressing is a good thing and the best way to resolve inner conflict etc, etc.
I always reply that if you examine the evidence, I mean properly look at it, you'd be inclined to alter your stance to some degree I believe.
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sarah_Jons]Sarah Jons

Gerald Edelman is an American Biologist Nobel Prize winner and one of the theories he is noted for involves consciousness. Edelman argues that the mind and consciousness are biological processes that arise from complex cellular processes within the brain.

Edelman suggest that every memory, every piece of data, idea, habit, though, is actually made up of a set of connections among neurons, like a map of connecting roadways in our brain. Each of these maps can involve up to 50,000 neurons.

We create maps for everything. This includes maps for sight, sound, language, face, ideas and memories that we remember, whether consciously or not. We sometimes form temporary maps. For example when driving a car, we do not hold in our mind ever building we drive past on our way to work. But after taking that journey even once, we will have formed a basic map of the route.

After driving this route many times, we will easily remember it; with enough repetitions, we will follow it even when we are not consciously attending to it. The map of the buildings becomes lost, while the map of the route becomes hardwired into the brain. There are maps of maps and the map of maps, and so forth. This application of maps is why revision is so key to learning processes. The more familiar you are with something, the easier you will be able to recall it.

So maps are our internal representations of the way the external world works for us. These enable us to understand and interact with that world. The maps that convey information that is used the most, get further hardwired into our brain and become more likely to be activated in the future.

You may wonder why this is so important and the relevance with hypnotherapy. In practical terms this theory supports so much of the work that is done in my application of cognitive hypnotherapy. My clients come to see me with a variety of problems that are their very own constructed maps. There are individual smoking maps, fear or phobia maps, maps of anxiety, maps of compulsive behaviours, maps of eating disorders and so on.

During the history take which is normally the first session of meeting at my, I map out my clients problem. The longer the client has had the problem the more hardwired the problem is in the brain. Just take a moment to think of a young child. How many very young children have phobias? Phobias and fears are developed over time. The more you get exposed to the stimulus the more hardwired the problem becomes.

The good news is that these problems maps can be simply deconstructed by using many of the hypnotherapy techniques I have at my disposal. You can quickly learn a new map of behaviour that replaces any unwanted old maps of behaviours. Do it enough and then that becomes hardwired. Or another way is to change the memory of the map in some way, if you remove part of the map it won't be the same map anymore.

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ian_Wilder]Ian Wilder

Can you think of what it's like watching a really good movie, one that's gradually building up to a crucial scene, then leaves you with a cliffhanger in the end? It can be annoying, however it can also be incredibly exciting. Films like that can be really fun and they both get, and hold, your undivided attention. Now what if I told you that you could get that response from people who listen to you speak?

There is a little known system that you can use in everyday conversation, that can get the same reaction from people listening to you. Whether it casual, chatting at a bar, or presenting a keynote speech, you can captivate and mesmerize your listeners and have them eating out of the palm of your hand.

These techniques were created by Igor Ledgdowsky, the first to set down the principals of covert hypnosis. He revolutionized conventional hypnotism by discovering a complete system of covert speech patterns that are proven to be highly effective. One of these techniques is specifically known as "Growing Excitement In Your Subjects" and is founded on deep subliminal and psychological that has an effect similar to how one simply "gets lost" in an intriguing movie, as in the example above.

Weasel phrases are used so that when you hear someone talking there's a "disconnect", or a upset in the flow of conversation, so that your conscious mind doesn't readily have an ending to the story (or statement). Your subconscious mind then struggles to find and ending to the piece of information, and will thus stay interested in the story until it can draw a conclusion, or fully understand it.

An easy way to test out the most simple aspects of this technique is to tell someone a story, and as you've got them interested and just before you would finish the story, quickly switch to telling them another story. This actually happens in conversation naturally more then most people realize. Some easy ways to do this are to use triggers like, "Just like when I..." or "It reminded me of...". Then move along to the next story.

When spinning your tale you'll want to use many "charged" words such as, incredible, one of a kind, revolutionary, I'm sure you can easily come up with many of your own.

Basically, what you're trying to do is to begin to explain the benefits of what ever it may be that you're trying to sell, or convince them to do, very explicitly, without telling your subjects much information about the product / service / concept that you're actually selling.

If you've ever read an online sales letter, you should recognize that this is their usual format. They'll simply start with a strong line to hook the reader, using weasel phrases, because they gain attention and interest, without really giving you and solid information about the product. Then they'll jump on to another topic, right away, without fully explaining the first statement in any real detail. It's not until you've actually read the entire sales pitch until you finally find out exactly what the product really is in any entirety.

By following this simple example, the format is always to grab your attention with a hook line and a great, entertaining and engaging story, then immediately changing the topic before fully explaining the idea, thus leaving your subjects wanting more. This is the ideal way to create intense interest in your subjects whenever your talking to a group of people, in any setting. It will definitely play to your advantage, so it's well worth it for you to take note of, and start practicing, this technique.
Ian has been teaching the techniques of covert hypnosis for years and has written much on the subject. To quickly and easily increase your ability to persuade others through covert hypnosis, head over to his [http://coverthypnosisnow.blogspot.com/]covert hypnosis site today.
Dark art of mass hypnosis

The Dark Art Of Mass Hypnosis - How To Put Large Groups Of People Under Your Spell
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Colleen_I_Slater]Colleen I Slater

Mass hypnosis has been used for hundreds of years -- think conmen and cults as an example. There's definitely a darker side to hypnosis. Keep reading to find out how mass hypnosis works.

While there are mass covert hypnosis techniques that aren't all being used for good purposes, hypnotism can be a tremendous good force. Hypnotism isn't evil per se, but the way some people choose to use it is.

How Mass Hypnotism Works

When it started it was mystical and magical....however, as time went on it was not such much "hocus pocus" as just plain fascinating!

First you'll learn the basic principles of hypnosis and then you'll get an understanding of how they work with mass hypnosis.

First Step - Fixate the attention

Second Step - Shut down the "normal" intellect

Once that's done you will be able to start planing suggestions inside a person's mind.

But how to do it en masse?

To start a campaign of mass covert hypnosis you MUST:

1. reach enough people

2. capture their attention completely for a certain period

3. Turn off their conscious mind

4. Embed a reality at that moment in time in which people have no choice but to do what you want.

Here are some examples of mass covert hypnosis in action today:

A cult

A lobby group of some kind which has a mass rally

A rock concert used to publish a strong political message

Here's a worrying study for parents.

Thomas Mullholland put a bunch of children in front of a TV. The TV was set up in such a way that it would turn off automatically when the child's brain state "switched" off....much like hypnosis.

No matter what every single child did, within 30 seconds of the TV being turned on every child entered a TRANCE state and all TVs were turned off.

30 seconds.

That's all it takes for your mind to be switched into a hypnotically receptive mode!

On March 22 2008 Italian police released footage of the "hypnotist thief" forcing cashiers and bank tellers to release over $1,200.00 and with absolutely no resistance or memory.
   Myth 2 : Hypnotic Sleep

The biggest myth that surrounding hypnosis is hypnosis is sleep you can use sleep as a suggestion in order to put someone to hypnosis but hypnosis itself is not sleep

At night times we sleep and we dream, we are totally unaware and we are unconscious about the things that happen in sleep it`s kind of a funny thing if we think like this , during sleep our mind goes somewhere or it disappears & suddenly it comes to perform it`s functions in the morning

For most part there is a clear distinction between being awake and being in sleep .Well Hypnosis is a blurring of that distinction. In Hypnosis you are totally aware of the things around you .You tend to be aware of sounds around you in fact you even are aware of the voices or sounds for example the hypnotist`s voice.

Ofcourse it is possible to have a hypnosis where people`s minds disappear and come back after a while but it is exception rather than the norm.

well o.k here it goes my second post of hypnosis. so watch out for these

Myth 1. Hypnotic Mind Control

Myth 2. Hypnotic sleep

Myth3. Hypnotic memory loss

Myth4.Getting stuck in hypnosis

Myth5.Revealing their darkest secrets.

And as you know the other common myths about hypnosis such as

Hypnosis Does Not Exist:It Is Not Real

Hypnosis Only Works For Weak Minded

A person can get stuck in hypnosis

Let`s discuss about each of them in detail

Myth1. Hypnotic Mind Control:

First thing you wanna know about hypnosis is " Mind control hypnosis" does not exist. When you get hypnotized by someone it doesn't mean that you are their slave. In hypnosis they merely want to do more of the things you suggest them

However there are limits, you can`t get someone to break their moral code under hypnosis you can`t force someone to commit a crime like murder or other illegal activities using hypnosis. However the reverse is also true you can`t treat criminal behavior with just hypnosis for example if someone is a thief & doesn't care about being a thief then hypnosis will do nothing to change that person.

If it worked differently then we wouldn't need prisons. We would just send hypnosis in &we'd solve all the problems faced by the prison population

What Does Hypnotherapy Really Contain!!!!!!!!!!!!

By: James Cook

There is a lot more in the media now about hypnotherapy and the way efficient it may be in helping in all areas of peoples lives.

Weight reduction, smoking, stress, phobias, sports performance and confidence and any variety of issues that involve peoples attitudes, thoughts set or will power. Extra celebrities are using these strategies and so the stories get into the papers and on to the news. After we see and listen to of others attempting new therapies and ways of changing, we predict to ourselves "Mmmm maybe that may very well be the answer to my downside as effectively".

We are all inspired to steer a wholesome life-style and take duty for our own health. Hypnotherapy is a drug free route to bodily and psychological well being, which is gaining more mainstream and scientific acceptance as we uncover more concerning the thoughts body connection. So it's no marvel that there's extra interest in it now than ever before.

Lots of people are keen to try it however are not sure precisely what it may involve. This is because most peoples view of hypnosis is gained from both outdated films or from stage and television reveals where a volunteer from the viewers obeys every command and is often made to do something that they might be too embarrassed to do underneath normal circumstances.

I do know this as a result of when I see people who find themselves in search of my help at my hypnotherapy apply in London they usually haven't any private expertise of hypnotherapy they're normally somewhat nervous. Let me say firstly that Stage Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy are very different.

Throughout hypnotherapy you'll be pleasantly relaxed however you will nonetheless be aware of all that goes on around you and in a position to discuss and reply questions when asked. You might be in management all the time and the Hypnotherapist cannot make you do anything that you do not want to do, or goes in opposition to your sense of right or wrong.

The one question that some people ask and are bothered by is 'Can I get stuck in trance and not wake up'. The reply to that is NO! Trance is a naturally occurring state that we move out and in of each day. In case you were left in an induced trance, you would either go to sleep and get up naturally, or get bored and leave!

If you're pondering of trying hypnotherapy then the primary consideration ought to be firstly, is the therapist effectively skilled, registered with an appropriate professional organisation and fully insured.

When you may have these essential points covered it's essential to find somebody you are feeling you'll be able to trust and shall be completely satisfied to work with.

This I typically examine to in search of a new house, there are things to look out for, but instinctively you understand when somebody is the proper therapist or coach for you.

By: Erika Slater

Depending on whom you ask the number of hypnosis sessions an individual requires to quit smoking can vary.

My stop smoking using hypnosis program is one session only.

Occasionally, a follow-up is required but I aim to get clients smoke free after one long session. What I mean by this is its not 60-minutes, but closer to 2 hours, or even slightly longer.

As a general rule of thumb, the client’s readiness to quit, that is, truly wanting to quit, is the greatest variable which will determine how many sessions are required.

There are cases where an individual who was a smoker for most of their life quits their habit cold turkey? That’s right! One day they just said, “Enough is enough!” and never lit up again. How was this possible?

They made up their mind they wanted to quit smoking and exerted their will power on both conscious and unconscious levels. They put in the exact order, without compromise that they were going to quit smoking and that this was their final answer! Quitting smoking like anything worth achieving is all about setting an intention.

WHAT DOES SETTING AN INTENTION MEAN?

Setting an intention is getting clear in the mind what is desired. One sets the intention (goal) in the mind and sees that as the “be all and end all”.

One sees what is wanted and becomes convinced it will be achieved. Once this kind of intention has been set, the mind is an extremely powerful and stubborn entity which will focus on that intention.

Furthermore, the mind will not only become flooded with thoughts set around the intention but also feelings.

It’s the feelings which become the major activating key toward achieving anything. Feelings are strong. Feelings become intensely real to the person. Feelings lead one to where they want to go!

How was the smoker able to quit cold turkey?

Simply, they set their intention to be a non-smoker and feelings around being a non-smoker became central points around their quitting. Their feelings reinforce their thoughts about quitting. Feelings energize the thought process.

When one puts thoughts and feelings together, powerful things happen, in this case quitting smoking.

WHERE DOES HYPNOSIS COME INTO PLAY?

Hypnosis is one of the best tools/methods for quitting smoking in the shortest amount of time. Of course this only occurs if the individual truly wants to quit.

Remember how the smoker who quit cold turkey was successful because they no longer thought of them self as a smoker?
These thoughts translated into feelings associated with being a non-smoker.

Their conscious mind fed their unconscious minds and saturated it with “non-smoker” qualities.

With hypnosis, one doesn’t need to be as determined and head strong as the smoker who quit cold turkey. Rather the therapist helps the individual who wants to quit by guiding the right mindset which produces the thoughts to create the permanent intention of being a non-smoker.

If the smoker wants to truly quit, they’ve already set the intention. The hypnotherapist just helps tap into the unconscious mind and replaces the “smoking” mindset with one of a non-smoking mindset.

In essence, the smoker doesn’t have to get to the point of being truly fed up with smoking to quit. They only have to want to quit. With that said, the smoker has done half the work already and the therapist will tap into the mind which will produce change… even lasting change after one session.

Not everyone using hypnosis to quit smoking will succeed in the first session. Some will require a follow-up session, and on extremely rare occasions, a third.

The number of sessions is less important than is deeply ingraining post-hypnotic suggestions in the unconscious mind. Once this occurs, the smoker is on their way to becoming a non-smoker!

  Definition of Hypnosis is:

It`s a natural and highly focused state, in which the conscious mind, or one part of the mind, does not interfere with another part of mind.

Now let`s go through the pshycological principles behind hypnosis, it is not a magical state , even it`s not a magic which can be perfomed by only magicians, it can be learnt by anyone but it should be learnt under appropriate conditions & by proper guidance

Stay tuned for my next post as i`m gonna reveal a lot of things including

How to hypnotize a person

safety precautions while hypnotizing

Types of hypnosis

What is Hypnosis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don`t know about others but , in my opinion Hypnosis is a tremendous force for good i mean if u go in to a more deeper view hypnosis can be defined as a way of augmenting other experiences.

It makes them more&more powerful & at the same time , it opens doors in your mind or inside your unconcious to places that you don`t have access to. You might already know that hypnosis is not something that is around for 100 or 200 years .It is ancient It`s as ancient as human beings are ancient we even have records of Hypnosis being used by egyptians & greeks , even the mighty romans.

Now lets look in to the advantages of hypnosis , with hypnosis rightly learned & implemented you can untap the wildest dreams &imaginations that you can ever imagine

You can gain tremendous amount of confidence in yourself

you can even stop quitting things that disturb you examples you can quit smoking

hypnosis can be used even as a way for personal improvement ,redefining yourself ,anger managmaent

Even teachers use hypnotic techniques on students to make them learn things faster& efficient no wonder they are using hypnosis for this

So on to a final conclusion about Hypnosis it has the power to change the people from the inside out .All learning ,all behaviour, and all change happen inside first,on the unconscious level.

so , this is basically a view on hypnosis. Watch out for next posts where i`m gonna reveal Hypnosis Tips&Tricks ,Free hypnosis sessions &all about hypnosis

Hai guys this is my blog freehypnosistips-tricks
