I’m pretty sure the republicans are outraged of her otherwise, unprecedented and perhaps pre-mature challenge, not necessarily against Obama but against herself. She just refudiated herself.

Synopsis: The president is on a routine diplomatic trip to India. While on a conference, a scene ensues involving Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. The news states that Gibbs was in an argument with Indian officials for not letting three US reporters to take coverage of the meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Gibbs allegedly threatened the Indian officials that he will pull the president out of the meeting if they do not let the three US press in. Here is the source.

First of all, Gibbs probably was a little out of line doing what he did. However president Obama’s trip to India was a necessary one. This, in my opinion is why we should pay taxes, to have our government continue diplomatic ties with foreign nations. Conservatives call this unnecessary spending, but what it really is, is the president doing his job. Conservatives say Obama’s a Socialist; well would a socialist pass the largest tax cut to the middle class in American history? 40% of the stimulus bill was in tax cuts. The money Obama spent to bail out the banks has been paid back to the government in full with interest. GM has once again become a successful company, and paid back the government in full with interest. The economy has been slowly but steadily growing in the last 3 quarters. However unemployment is still an issue, one Obama is trying to address with his trip to India. So please conservatives stop listening to talk radio, and let our president do his job!

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.A firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

I love how uneducated people are always the first to have such a strong stance on education even thought they have never spent a day in a teacher's shoes. A successful teacher knows, you don't try to reinvent the wheel... you take advice from other teachers, improve and tweak what they do, and apply that to your own classroom. Obama is looking at other education systems and trying to implement positive characteristics of other countries education systems into our own education system i.e. he's not trying to reinvent the wheel he's taking what works in other systems and improving on it for our country. Stop blaming the teachers and start blaming the parents. Crush the teachers unions because they are allowing poor teachers to remain. Stop putting a price on each child's head, it turns things into a money war for the politicians running the school system. Fund good schools, attach welfare payments to welfare recipients' children's attendance and grades. If a welfare kid doesn't go to school or gets lousy grades or disrupts things, then the baby's momma or dada loses their welfare payments for that child. Let them cry "victim" for a bit, and they'll straighten up once they realize the "victim" or race card won't work anymore.

I rarely agree with Obama's ideas, but I do concur with his view we need to extend our school years to be competitive in the world. I also think we need to increase the focus on mathematics and science throughout grammar and high school; and real sciences, not the pseudo sciences like sociology. Finally, we need to instill much more discipline in our schools so that teachers are able to regain control of the classrooms instead of having to deal with disruptive students at the expense of the vast majority of students.

Our problem is more or less a breakdown of society, the decline of moral values specifically. Discipline needs to start early on in life, with teaching respect for elders and figures of authority (teachers, police officers etc.). But too many of our children grow up without proper respect these days, resulting in disruptiveness in school, not paying attention and no fear of consequences for their actions. Teachers are not allowed to properly discipline disruptive students, which affects the entire class they have to teach under those conditions. Teachers are also increasingly facing other issues, such as students who speak English as a second language or don't speak enough English to understand what is being asked of them. Teachers also have to deal with students who are living in an un-nurturing environment at home, with parents who are alcoholics or drug users, who are abusive or neglect them. More and more kids are being raised by single parents who just don't have time for them because they work. They come home too exhausted to help their kids with homework and are glad if the kids leave them alone. Unless we can change society as a whole, I don't believe there is any way to improve education for our kids, certainly not by extending the school year. It would be like putting a band-aid on an amputated limb. We need to get back to moral values and instill into our kids that there are consequences to every thing they do. Reward good behavior and good grades and punish unacceptable behavior and bad grades. Teach them to respect their elders and listen to their teachers or face the music. It may be old-fashioned but it worked back then, our kids did much better in school in the 50s and 60s.

I have gotten into the habit of reading news in yahoo. I have also become interested with the comments yahoo readers post. It is quite entertaining to read about people’s political inclinations, although I’m not a political person myself.

The major observation I’ve had is the constant blaming and flaming of president, Barack Obama. Personally, I think this president means well for the American people but his enemies always try to look for a fault. In yahoo especially, the president gets flamed by those that does not like him, no matter what the news article is about. I find humor in that. The more bitter the flamer, the more entertaining the read.

A Day in the Life of Jeff Republican

Jeff gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised. All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Jeff gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Jeff's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Jeff is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. SPAM mail is really irritating, especially that half of the content are email addresses of people you don't even know. But in fairness, some of the messages are insightful if not heartwarming and/or alarming. Below is a list of what I have recieved so far.

Not Just Car Keys.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night. Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr's office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. ...

It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around. After a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there.

This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime. P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem. Please pass this on even IF you've read it before.

Sometime this year, we taxpayers will again receive another 'EconomicStimulus' payment. This is indeed a very exciting program, and I'll explain it by using a Q & A format:

Q. What is an 'Economic Stimulus' payment ?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q.. Where will the government get this money ?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money ?
A. Only a smidgen of it.

Q. What is the purpose of this payment ?
A. The plan is for you to use the money to purchase ahigh-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China ?
A. Shut up.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U.S. economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

* If you spend the stimulus money at Wal-Mart, the money will go to China or Sri Lanka .
* If you spend it on gasoline, your money will go to the Arabs.
* If you purchase a computer, it will go to India , Taiwan orChina .
