We are very excited to announce that we will soon be opening a retail outlet in Hobart, Tasmania! We can not yet disclose the exact location because we are still busily preparing all our pretty displays but we thought we could kick off the celebrations with a giveaway!!!

The prizes on offer are 3 Gift Vouchers to spend in in our shop. We have a $100 and 2 x $60 Gift Vouchers up for grabs!

Celebrate Spring with Pantone

I'm not sure if you've all noticed, but SPRING is upon us! For me the sweet smell of jasmine in the air is usually a dead give away, but maybe for you it's those slightly warmer days - the ones where you go out in the sun and feel actual warmth on your skin. YES!

This month we're celebrating the onset of spring with a little help from our friends at Pantone. They have released their Spring Fashion Colour Report and we're a bit in love with this combo in particular:

It's fresh, striking and bursting with energy which means it is right in line with all that spring has to offer - new colours, new life and new festivity.

Let's get started shall we? We always think food is a great place to start when you're celebrating a new season. Since spring is all about fresh tastes and ingredients why not try these three on for size:

Shabby Chic - Birthday Party

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to showcase some of our gorgeous products by throwing a casual party to celebrate my birthday.

I wanted the party to have an elegant shabby chic feel with lots of whites, pinks and florals.

Our Pink Swirl Round Lollipops and Pink Fairy Floss was enjoyed by all!

The beautiful bunting was made by the very talented Amy of Giggleberry Creations. We proudly stock the Giggleberry Creations range of bunting in our store.

The gorgeous vanilla cupcakes were made by the lovely Kristin of Yummylicious.

Kristin wrapped the cupcakes with butterfly laser cut wrappers and topped the beautiful icing with blush coloured pearls.

Our Mini Wooden Scoops were enjoyed by all, especially by the children as the scoops are the perfect size for those little hands!

Our home made pink lemonade was very popular and looked gorgeous in this Mason Jar Glass Drink Dispenser which we purchased directly from Pottery Barn. Our Chalk Board Labels and Place Card Holders completed the look beautifully.

We filled our Glass Churn Pots with yummy strawberry custard and tied our Wooden Teaspoons to the pots using our Pink Sorbet Twine! These pots were also filled with Creaming Soda Jelly.

We filled our handy sized Noodles Boxes with Strawberries & Cream Flavoured Popcorn. One of our White Tin Pails filled with Pink Stripe Straws was placed next to the glass drink dispenser.

and finally, the lanterns! We had a sky filled with an array of lanterns in a palette of florals and pink, green, taupe and white tones. They looked stunning in the afternoon sun and even more beautiful as the night time came and the warm glow of each lantern light could be seen.

All in all, we were very happy with the way the party came together but most importantly, it was a very enjoyable afternoon and evening spent with a fabulous group of friends and family.

Valentine's Day

You may have noticed that over the past several weeks we have been sourcing many lovely new items and uploading them to our store catalogue. So since we are drawing close to Valentine's Day we thought it would be timely to do a Sweet Heart themed table to showcase some of these fabulous new finds given many of the items fall within the Valentine's theme.

Valentine's Day Special

You can find almost every item here (excluding the gorgeous tree, more details can be found below) in our store at Occasion by Design, including the cotton Pink and White Polka Dot Table Runner, Kraft Candy Boxes by Mon Tresor and the Solid Colour Paper Cups.

The Felt Hearts can also be purchased from our store. They are available in Pink, Dark Pink and Red and come in packs of eight (4 large and 4 small) of the one colour.

This beautiful White Wooden Tree was made for us by the lovely Jodie-Lee from Lee Girl Pretties.

We filled our 5cm Clear Acrylic Baubles with our Conversation Heart Confectionery and Small Red Lollipops and hung them from the wooden tree using our twine.

We filled these gorgeous Little Glass Pots with strawberry custard and wrapped them with our Hessian Strand and Pink Saddle Stitch Grosgrain Ribbon. All the before-mentioned, including the White Platter, are available to purchase from our store.

Finally, for a take home gift we decorated our very popular Kraft Food Cartons with some Pink Saddle Stitch Grosgrain Ribbon, paper doily and a Sambellina Pink Polka Dot Thank You Tag.

Safari Party

As soon as I found out that Daneve, owner and creator of Ah-Tissue Pom Poms, was planning her son's 3rd birthday party, I immediately became intrigued as to what wonderful styling she would achieve....and she certainly did not disappoint!

The theme for the party was Safari and as you can see lots of work went in to the details! Kate from Katie Takes A Picture captured the styling of the party perfectly!

Daneve used our miniature wooden pegs to hang these gorgeous take home treats.

The children (and parents!) had lots of fun making balloon animals which Daneve also sourced from our store.

A Very Happy Nemo

Having an online store on the world wide web can sometimes make you feel like a little fish swimming in the Pacific Ocean. I like to think of us as a little Nemo happily swimming along with the currents of the web but I often wonder how do we get recognised in this big Ocean which has so many other great fish. Then, out of the blue, sometimes the web can throw you a surprise and yesterday, it was our little Nemo’s turn to be recognised!
