Don't worry, because this little problem is more common than you think. Regardless of what your mom may have told you, in this instance you are not a special little snowflake.

It's not your fault. You just never knew better because you were never taught. You've been living that same cushioned, bland, little life that you always have. You haven't taken any risks. You haven't ever put yourself out there. You would much rather sit at home and play video games or sit at work until ten o'clock at night than go out and possibly have some fun.

If you add all that up, it starts to look like your typical Saturday night, doesn't it?

If you do go out, you stand at the bar, not having fun, without a smile on your face and never even talk to anyone, you see a cute girl and start thinking all of those negative (bull S**t) thoughts then the anxiety sets in and builds and builds until you decide to just say F**K it and go home. Then you spend a bunch of time beating yourself up because you should have just talked to her.

If you are doing this; do you really expect women to just come to you?

AIN'T. GONNA. HAPPEN.

You've got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, you have got to learn how to go out and actually have fun no matter what you are doing. When you are having fun then those around you will be having fun, once this happens you do become approachable. A woman does not want to approach some boring guy standing there with a frown on his face.

Bottom line is that you need to learn how to get out of your head, out of your shell and start living. Take a risk, take a chance. You don't want to be 70 years old saying "I wish I would of..." You want to be the guy saying "Man I really lived a full life"

I want to share a little story with you real quick.

A few years back, I was living here in sunny Florida, when a buddy of mine called me out of the blue. We spent a few minutes catching up, when he flat out told me I should move to Arizona and join him in the mortgage business (this was pre-economic meltdown!). He told me I could make a lot of money. I said screw it! Why not? So the night before I left, I went out with a girl. She was a friend of mine, so I was excited to tell her all about my new plan to move to Arizona, and go on this exciting adventure, taking a chance on the unknown. Her response floored me. She couldn't have been more negative. "Why are you doing that," she questioned in a very disapproving tone. I told her all about the opportunity to make money, and the excitement of a new place. "Don't you think everyone would do it, if it were that easy," she asked again.

My response: "NO, not everyone would just up and leave for the adventure of trying something new." Long story short, in the same conversation, she said "I wouldn't do that... I could never just up and leave." She was trying to chastise me for doing something that "EVERYONE" would do; but that she wouldn't even do herself! This is a great example of taking risks no matter what anyone says.

Own your life and everything you do. This is your world, not mine or anyone else's. You need to start acting like it and stop being a by standard to your own life.

I'm going to give you some homework. These are some simple things you can do right away to start making some changes.

This assignment is going to help you to break out of the boring, monotonous rut you've got yourself stuck in.

Make a list of exciting things to do. These are things that are going to push you a little out of your comfort zone. And you're going to do 2 or more of these totally random, scary things every month.

Here are a few ideas for you to help you get started:

- Fly across the country
- Stay in a hotel
- Say hi to a girl
- Go on a boat
- Skydiving
- Acting class
- Public speaking
- Salsa dancing
- Improv class
- Throwing a dart (or the entire dart board, ha-ha) at the map of the world and traveling where it lands
- Go play miniature golf
- Go bowling
- Play billiards
- Spend one day asking people questions and starting conversations down town.

If you're driving down the road on a Friday night and there's some place you've always wanted to go; take a road trip and don't look back.

The point is - go for it!

Whatever the result of the experience, Good or bad, you have a story to tell. This makes you much more fun, exciting, and attractive to a woman.

TAKE THAT FIRST STEP.

If you want to push yourself out of your comfort zone with women, focus all your energy in that. Put EVERYTHING you have into becoming great and learning how to really have fun and enjoy your life!! Don't let anything hold you back. Not yourself, not your friends, family or even the economy.

Like most colonials, our home has a family room and a living room. And like most homeowners, we spend a lot more time in our family room than our living room. In fact, my 7 year old still gets confused when I use the term "living" room. It's now just known as the "red" room in our house.

With some minor changes and a lot of inspiration, you can turn your living room into something you'd actually live in! Here are some possible uses and design tips to help you get started:

Home office - Home Office means different things to different people. It could be a place to pay bills and file paperwork, or a place for kids to do homework, or you may run a business out of your home. Whatever your definition, focus your design around the function of the room.

Provide a clear surface on which to work. It's easy for a desk or table to become overrun with "stuff" resulting in no place to actually work. Tight for space? How about a table that drops down from the wall when needed (like a Murphy bed)?
Add a comfortable desk chair that is adjustable and doesn't squeak (trust me on this one!). If your room has carpet, consider a plastic floor protector to help you wheel around easier.
Add lots of hidden storage, but be sure to clearly label your storage units so you know where to find things.
Lighting is key! You will need overhead as well as good task lighting. If there is no overhead light, add some up-lighting.
Select functional accessories that add personality by do not cutter the space. But be careful not to make it too institutional - it's still your home, after all!
Keep the palate light and bright to inspire energy.
Minimize and secure cords as much as possible. Go wireless wherever possible.

Library - Love to read? Have a great book collection? Turn your living room into a cozy place to curl up with a good book! It's like having your own coffee house.

Add lots of shelving. Rather than just adding bookcases, consider customized bookshelves built around a window to create a window box seat. Not only will you get additional storage, you'll add a wonderful focal point to the room.
Instead of a traditional sofa or loveseat, opt for two or three comfy club chairs (depending on space). Gather those chairs around a round glass-top coffee table with a wood shelf underneath to show off some of your favorite coffee table books.
Provide task lighting for each reading chair. Pharmacy lamps are great for this. Make sure you also have enough lighting to see the books on the shelves.
As a library, you can comfortably use darker paint to create warmth.
Accessories - add a warm toned rug, soft throw blankets, and pepper the walls with black and white photography to create a coffee house feel.

Toy room - A toy room can be a great compromise between parents and kids in the eternal battle of toy clutter!

Opt for shelving with attractive bins that can hide the clutter inside them, and allow for pick-up in less than 5 minutes. Open storage looks messy, even when the room is picked up. Avoid a collection of mis-matched toy organizers - they look tacky!
Make sure the room is comfortable for grown ups as well as kids -add a comfortable chair or loveseat.
Add a kid-sized table and chairs. Tip: put a machine washable rug underneath to survive craft time!
Keep the room bright with cheerful colors, but avoid "cutesy" - save that for their bedrooms.
If your kids enjoy movies, add a TV and DVD player.
Set clear rules for cleanup, and stick to them!

Media room - Do you enjoy watching movies? Create your own movie theater in the comfort of your own home!

Add French or pocket doors and light-blocking shades to create a dark, quiet environment on demand.
Add a large screen TV with surround sound.
Add a dimmer switch to better control the lighting. Add task lighting to allow for discreet multi-tasking while watching a movie.
Depending on how many people will be watching the movies, add enough comfortable seating. Tip: use two loveseats angled at the corners of the room opposite the TV, and toss a couple bean bag chairs behind them for extra seating when necessary.
For decor, just frame a few of your favorite movie posters and hang them on the walls.
Don't forget the DVD organizer and a handy remote control holder!

Mud Room -Depending on the layout of your house, you could convert your living room into an oversized "holding cell" to accommodate coats, back packs, shoes, calendars, cleaning supplies, dog bed, pet food and much more. You get the idea!

Assign a "locker" to each family member (don't forget the family pet). Lockers provide vertical storage that makes good use of the space while hiding its cluttered contents. It's a great storage solution for jackets, purses, backpacks, and more. Lockers can be wood or metal, whichever you prefer.
Add wall hooks for guest coats, umbrellas, etc.
Add a shoe rack for wet or dirty shoes. Place vinyl placemats underneath to protect your floor.
Create a mail box for each member of the family to control mail flow.
Add a credenza or file cabinet to file all that mysterious paperwork that wanders into the house.
Create a message center by painting a wall (or part of a wall) with magnetic and/or chalkboard paint. Make it "pop" by adding a large empty gold leaf frame!
Add a colorful rug. Rather than get one large rug, opt for a couple smaller rugs that are machine washable.
How about a small drop-leaf table and a couple chairs for small projects, or for putting boots on?

Stag room - What can I say? If you must have one, here are some ideas:

Add a pool table, and a dart board (if room).
Include a bar and some bar stools.
Opt for a darker paint color that won't show wear and tear.
Display your favorite neon bar sign, deer head, or other prized possession.
Add a juke box in the corner if you like.
Don't forget the traditional "dogs playing poker" print!

2. Lighting

Install some lighting. Shadows can be created due to poor lighting. Put up a bright light, making sure that it is concentrated and aimed to the board. Place a cover to keep off incoming darts as well as to hold back the light, away from the thrower’s eyes. Your lighting should be set up in a way that it radiates to the entire area of the board, not causing any shadow and not interrupting your throw. The location of the scoreboard should be on either side of the board and not to interfere with the next player’s shot when one is scoring. The scoreboard’s size will be up to you. If you plan on having a lot of people over, a wide scoreboard may be the best choice so you can write challenges aside from the score. There are many kinds of scoreboard available, so choose the one that you are comfortable with. While others prefer the classic blackboard and chalk, you may not, as it does create chalk dust that gets on to your hands and fingers, and you might also be allergic to chalk particles. If you are, there are many alternatives.

3. Scoring:

Traditionally, sections of the dartboard is numbered and colored black and yellow. By hitting one of the large numbered sections, you score according to the value of that section. By hitting the thin outer portion of the board which are red and green, you score a double point, whatever the value of that certain section. Likewise, when you hit the thin inner portion of these sections, halfway between the central circle, colored red or green and the outer wire, your score is triple the points of whatever value that is imbedded in that section. Hitting the bullseye or the inner red area scores fifty points and hitting the green outer ring scores twenty five points. There is no score when you hit outside the outer wire. Any dart that is thrown on the board but does not remain on the board, such as a bouncing dart or a dart that fell after it has been thrown, scores nothing. Some rules, however, allow scoring if a dart hits an obvious scoring section and then drops and is caught before it reaches the ground or floor.

It will also help your people feel good about their co-workers, get to know them better, and give them a sense of pride in the organization.

6. Vocabulary Expansion

Ask your team to bring a rarely used or obscure word to the next meeting. Have them use it in a context that is applicable to your business.

7. Memory Exercise

Read a list of 10 or 15 things, preferably something related to your business, your industry, or to a customer and give an award to the person who can commit the most items to memory. This exercise can help your staff become more familiar with your organization and with your customers. Memory development is also a key to developing new customer relationships that will help your business prosper.

8. "If I Ran This Place..."

Ask your staff what they would consider the ideal job, the ideal workplace, and the ideal location. You can't transform your place into utopia, but you might gain some insight into feasible, marginal changes that will improve things. Now that you have them thinking without barriers, ask them what they would do first or different if they ran the company, office, or department. You'll be surprised by the answers.

9. Show and Tell

Have your staff bring something that they've created, that they are proud of, or from their childhood that the group would find interesting or funny. Demonstrate an interesting or unusual talent, perhaps. We loved this game when we were in kindergarten, and for some reason they made us stop playing as we got older.

10. Top 10 Lists

Until David Letterman decides to pursue intellectual property infringement, go ahead and try this one. Give a topic at your staff meeting, and ask for the answers the following week. Remember to keep it clean and non-offensive. Have your staff rank the answers and use a point system to determine the winner.

We would never ask our employees for quality without offering the resources, direction, systems, and commitment to develop procedures that ensure improvement in that area. Yet we ask employees for creativity or to "think outside the box" all of the time without giving another thought as to how to initiate the creative process. Take the first step and give your staff permission to shake things up a bit at your office. You're likely to see some changes - for the better!
