In recent years, the area has seen an escalation in golf tourism because of the nearness of Glasgow Prestwick Airport and the provision of an increased number of direct air connection.

Turnberry The Westin Turnberry Resort, Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland KA26 9LT offers two 18-hole Championship Links courses along with the 9-hole Arran "Academy" Course.

Ailsa Course This par 70 course has hosted 3 Open Championships. At over 7,200 yards from the back tees, it provides a stern test for even the best players. From the outset, if offers little respite, with the wind blowing off the sea for the first 3 holes. Holes 4 to 11 provide glorious coastal views. The 9th is the "signature" hole, with the renowned lighthouse as a backdrop to a disconcerting drive across the corner of the bay. On turning for home, players need to maintain control and good course management skills as cunningly contoured fairways and undulating greens can deceive the unwary. 2009 summer (May-October) green fees were £170 for residents of the resort and £210 for non-residents. The winter (November-December) rates are £100 and £125, respectively.

Kintyre Course Renowned course architect Donald Steel revamped the original Arran course, dating from 1909, into a breathtaking Championship course. Some holes appear harmless enough, but every one on this par 72, 6,921 yard layout provides its own challenges. Accuracy from the tee is vital, with the rough abundantly interspersed with spiky gorse. The 8th is the "signature" hole involving a drive from a raised tee towards the sea and a haunting blind second shot to a green appearing to amalgamate with the beach beyond. The back nine provides countless tests, no more so than the 18th, with its 11 bunkers. Summer green fees are £120 / £140 and £70 / 90 in the winter.

Arran Course The 9-hole, par-31 Arran course is an excellent introduction to links golf. Designed to allow students of the Colin Montgomerie Links Golf Academy to practice course management skills, it features the same tricky aspects as the Championship courses. Its eclectic mix of holes is suitable for beginners and more accomplished players to practice links golf techniques. 2009 summer green fee rates (for 18 holes) were £24 and £34, dropping to £20 and £25 from 1st November.

Prestwick Prestwick Golf Club, 2 Links Road, Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland KA9 1QG is a mere ½ hour from Glasgow, sharing its boundaries with Royal Troon Golf Club. Other high-quality courses, such as Glasgow Gailes, Irvine Bogside, Kilmarnock Barassie and Western Gailes are just a short drive away. Designed by "Old" Tom Morris and founded in 1851, Prestwick hosted its first of 24 Open Championships in 1860 and the last in 1925. The par 71, 6,544 yards layout underwent extensive renovation in 1999. It is a very tight, challenging course, carved out of the sand dunes; a "classic" links course, with numerous blind shots, including from the tee. Its signature holes are the par-5 3rd, "The Cardinal" and the par-4 17th "The Alps." Reviews suggest that Prestwick provides an excellent golfing test with some unique challenges. It was rated a "must play" course by many reviewers. Visitors are accepted on all weekdays, though tee times are limited at weekends. Men must have a maximum handicap of 24 and ladies 28. "Winter Special" weekday green fees are offered from November 2009 to March 2010, being £85 per round or £110 for a day ticket. From 1st April to 31st October 2010, fees will be £120 per round, £175 per day ticket, with a reduced rate of £60 for further rounds in the same week. Reservations need to be confirmed by payment of a non-refundable (except for ill health) deposit of £50 per player on booking.

Whichever of Ayrshire`s first-rate courses is chosen, it is sure to provide an excellent test of the player's golfing prowess

Improve Your Golf Swing With 7 Insights And Lessons Learn From The Masters And Pros by Gary Johnson

Golf is a splendid sport to play not considering of your skill level and beginners and professionals alike can both benefit from learning a lesson or two from golf's most highly praised and awarded player. Tiger wins so many tournaments since his golf game is so consistent. No you won't suddenly shave a dozen strokes off your game, but if you gather the elements of Tigers swing, you will beyond doubt take a few points off your hit, pull off better distance whilst striking balls and save your energy in support of the swing. Try these tips from the worlds generally elite golf player to persuade the nitty-gritty appropriate.

1. Address your posture problems: If your spine is bent over too far you may possibly develop into injured. When carrying the swing through a poor posture additionally causes you to slack a number of frontward momentum. Move in a little closer to the ball, to provide you better connection whilst swinging your club and to keep your shoulders better aligned.

2. Stance: Tiger keeps his legs open out to some extent extra than shoulder width apart and keeps a slight bend in his knees. Doing so allows him to have more power while swinging his hips.

3. Pivot your hips: When completing a swing Tiger keeps his knees to some extent curved out, this allot him better power in his legs and provides in support of a better heaviness distribution.

4. Treat your injuries as they occur: Golf can be wearing to the body. Tiger has undergone several knee surgeries in order to repair a bad knee. If he had continued to play through the sorrow, as pivoting his hips back he would have to overcompensate in support of the grief by shifting too much load to one leg. Alternatively, he would tolerate to lose power on the backswing in order to prevent putting too much pressure on a weak knee. If you are a serious player, therefore progress your injuries treated at the present prior to they make serious impairment to your swing and develop into muscle memory.

5. Pay attention to how you control your hands: Tiger does not concentrate the club connecting his hips; he lets the club lie contrary to the inner thigh of the forward leg. He additionally keeps his elbows pointed with respect to the hips. As he swings this grip allows him to follow through with contact not including adjusting his wrist and provides a natural feel.

6. Tilt your higher body: By changing the spot of his higher body, Tiger is able to take part in more power and control as he hits the ball. A slight slant to the right segment of the body allows him to keep his shoulders unlock as he swings.

7. Get your feet into the proper setup: The phase to generate compensations in support of your swing is not throughout the backswing. By getting your body in proper alignment, you won't have to swing too tough. Keep the heel of your left foot lined up with the toe of your right foot. By keeping your feet in this stance as you swing, your right hip will spontaneously curve in and you will stay in the swing plane.

Top 3 Tips To Lower Your Golf Handicap By 7 To 12 Strokes In 2 Weeks by Gary Johnson

When the golf season is on, each player is interested in lowering their golf handicap. Everyone, as well as distinguished and low handicappers, is looking to decrease their mark and this quest does not finish in support of a golfer. With the aspiration of playing a better game, you could try to discover a textbook swing that helps you drive the ball impeccably. But swinging is not the solitary ultimate target in support of a golfer. There are several other shots and techniques that cover their own consequence to allow you to drop your golf handicap. While golf is played intended for entertainment and fun, it is a competitive sport in which you hunger to win.

1. When you take part in golf with the goal of lowering your handicap, don't worry in relation to the outcome of different games. This could seem contradictory, but as you are concerned in relation to the outcome, eventually you concentrate not as much of on your game. You have to take a closer look by the process that you enjoy to perform the shot and by no means be troubled in relation to the outcome. If you arrange your process impeccably, you will every time execute the exact shot, knowing regarding the hindrances in the course. Only after you have complete attention on your shot can you dedicate the top stroke which will evidently decrease your golf handicap.

2. Deciding the decent shot to be played is essential in lowering your golf handicap. You might be competent at certain golf shots, but that will not help you as you have to play a number of other shot. Depending on the course and the standing of the ball, you have to understand the shot that you bear to perform. While determining the correct shots to be played, don't try to outplay your competitors. Just concentrate on your game and you will be satisfied at the end. Some players be likely to perform a shot merely since their competitor has played it. This is to be avoided since your ball is each time distinctive from others.

3. Develop your short gaming skills. Shots such as range, drives and irons are foremost, but at hand are short Gaming skills that are often overlooked by the golfers. Short games such as pitching, chipping and putting Can greatly bring down your gold handicap if you carry out that flawlessly. It is not that you each time have to get through these Shots, but once there is a need to handle the shots, you have to be well skilled to produce the top shot. Long balls are profound, but the short balls play a considerable role on your score sheet.

My bonus tip at this time is to reach and ask in support of help from someone who knows what they are doing. In the golfer's set of circumstances, engage in a chat with your club expert. Why stretch on in support of weeks battling with a glitch you own that no matter how much you practice you merely can't seem to overcome. Don't be stubborn and don't drive yourself crazy. The club expert will happily and quickly analyze your obstacle and arrange you on the appropriate path! So if you're struggling, don't be shy just about asking in favor of education. Rest secure that all the splendid players have education. Even Mr Tiger Woods has someone serving him with his game at present. He is not stubborn or too proud to ask in support of help and he is the preeminent player in the planet.

The way the professionals play golf is uncommon from that of amateurs since the experts know what they have to take part in. Also, qualified golfers identify wherever they lack and take more hard work to correct their mistakes. Every single aspect of your game is valuable once you play golf and if you hunger to develop into a pro, you must not pass up out on perfecting even single aspect of it. When you play a game, you ought to know what and how to perform. Without some preparation, don't get ongoing with your clubs. When you are on the golf course, by no means agonize about what others will think around your decision. Concentrate on your overall game and you will soon get better your golf handicap.

Cheap Mizuno MP-68 Irons for Sale at Best Price by anna king

What is the most prominent product feature of MP 68 Irons

Replacement For The MP 67 Irons?
Mizuno has always been a golfwholesaleshop favorite. I think they consistently makes some of the best irons on the market. They have to be the most underrated iron maker that has been around as long as they have been. You can take out 10 sets to the range hit them all side-by-side and Mizuno will always be near the top. And they don’t go the gimmicky route either to sell clubs. They stick to solid forgings that give you great feel and a classic look.
Cross Between MP-14 & MP-32?
So when we got these new pics we weren’t too surprised to see that they have not strayed to far from their norm. The Mizuno MP 68 Irons
prototypes are a cross between the MP-14 & MP-32
It is hard to see but there is a channel grooved in the cavity right behind the Mizuno logo. Not as deep as the MP-32 but similar. And from what we heard they head designer had to actually fly to the foundry to give the head shapers a personal lesson on how to achieve the proper grooved channel to get the proper CG and feel.
The new MP-68 Blade moves away from the cut muscle design that the MP-67 had and resembles the MP-37 with the muscle back developing from the toe area. The muscle back lines and edges however are smoother on the MP-68 than the MP-37 and some in Japan have said it reminds them of the classic MP-14 with its curved muscle back and sharp toe. Mizuno has also followed suit with its 2009 design guidlines by placing the running bird logo on the sole and the model MP-68 with new MP logo in the toe corner. The 0verall head and face is very compact and coupled with the thick muscle provide the purest feel of any Mizuno grain flow forged blade.

For the last several years pre release Mizuno head only sets have popped up far before the official release date. They look perfect to the untrained eye but when put on the scale the head weights are off and the hosel size often appears to be over or undersized. This has been the unfortunate case for many of Mizuno's MP models in recent years but its a consistent pattern. Right now there are sets on ebay and in certain forums of possible fakes. Im sure if you contact Mizuno they will say these are not Mizuno authorized products. This confuses us because we have been under the impression for many years that Mizuno Irons were made in the Chuo factory in Japan yet the origin of these imposters are Taiwan & Hong Kong.

The Golf Waggle - Improve Your Swing by golfdiscountsale@hotmail.com

No part of the golf swing is more misunderstood than the waggle, the series of movements immediately prior to the takeaway. The waggle helps prepare the body for the motion to follow and is a good transition from thinking about the shot to executing the shot. By incorporating a waggle into your pre-shot routine, you will feel more relaxed and confident as you play the shot.

Many golfers set up to the ball and then freeze while tension builds in their muscles. The longer they stand there, the more their chances of hitting a good shot decrease. A waggle ensures that you maintain athletic motion right up to the beginning of the swing. What exactly is the waggle? It's a miniature version of the takeaway, which is accomplished by a slight movement of the hands and wrists to take the golf club away from and back to the ball. Although many good players use an "up and down" motion, I recommend a "back and forth" waggle of the club head for the simple reason that this can serve as a rehearsal for the takeaway, or a way to program the proper feel for the coming shot.

The waggle sets the stage for the swing path and plane. Let's say you need to hit a draw. Waggle the club on a slightly inside path to set up the inside-out motion you will need to produce the shot. Likewise, you might waggle on a slightly outside path before attempting to fade. Remember, make each waggle an individual action. Tailor your waggle for the shot you are playing.

Waggling the club also helps to establish rhythm and tempo for the shot. A good waggle breeds continuity of motion through the club, hands, arms, body, and feet. In addition to the variance of the shape of the waggle, the tempo also should vary. Use a slower waggle for short, soft shots and a faster waggle for longer shots. Again, the waggle should match the shot you plan to play.

Treat the waggle as part of your swing. Your mind will become accustomed to the motion and will begin to recognize it as a "time to play" signal. As you waggle the club, relax and free your body of tension. Try to feel the weight of the clubhead in your hands. This will keep your grip pressure from becoming too tight. Visualize the shot as you waggle and concentrate on the tempo and "feel" of the swing you plan to make.

Finally, end the waggle by starting the swing. The waggle will help to produce the path and tempo you have already established and should be the last movement before you trigger your takeaway. We all know how important it is to be comfortable on the golf course. Being comfortable makes the game easier and improves your play. That's what the waggle is all about. Make your waggle a part of your practice routine as well as your on-course routine. Work with different waggles and see how they affect the way you feel as you prepare to play a shot. You will find it a valuable tool for your golf swing.

Mizuno MX-950 Iron Set--Making You a Happy Golfer and Customer by mygolfwholesale@gmail.com

Mizuno's goal in the creation of the new Mizuno MX-950 Hybrid irons was to deliver the most friendly game-improvement iron set with no limit on cutting edge technology. The MX-950 irons are a breakthrough hybrid designed set, with the unique ability to be custom built to your individual specifications. The MX-950s are ideal for the mid to high handicap player who is looking for ease of launch, unparalleled forgiveness and maximum game-improvement playability.

Let us see how the customer feel about the Mizuno MX-950 Iron Set:

So you can see where I'm coming from...I routinely shoot in the 100 to 105 range and have only broke 100 once in my two years of playing. I struggle hitting any iron longer than my 6. I started with a $120 set of Rams. I play maybe 15 rounds/yr. I'm no expert, but I got plenty of input from others who think they are when it came to buying new clubs. I picked up this set after spending way too much time trying to decide what to buy. I hit all the following before making a decision:Ping G10, X-22, A3OS, Burner, Slingshot and several more. I couldn't pass up the clearance price on these clubs, especially after hitting them. I took them to the range the same day and except for a thin or fat shot, they all went straight and felt great. I had been to the range 3 times before finally getting to play a round with them this morning. For those of you needing a game improvement set, buy these if you can. I shot my best round of 98, and actually used every iron during my round today. I'm excited about raising my level of play and these clubs absolutely rock!

  Thanks Mizuno!

I'm in my mid-late 30s and hasn't played golf for 2 years. After moving to Florida, I started playing golf again with my old Callaway X-12 clubs. I used to shoot mid-80s constantly but my best score after 10 rounds was a mere 93. Half of my rounds were over 100.

I finally gave up on my old irons and decided to switch the equipment. After extensive research, I have chosen MX-950 for its progressive design.

After 3 days of practice with the new set, I took them to a course where I shot 120 from white tee. Guess what? I lowered my score by 35 shots and shot 85 from blue tee. This is 8 shots better than my best round in a year.

With these irons, I can get the ball up high and stop dead on the green. I'm glad that I gave up on ego and chose regular flex. I realized that my swing speed is no longer fast enough for steel or stiff-flex shaft.

If you are struggling with your old set, I highly recommend MX-950. It's probably more expensive than other sets but it's worth it considering if you don't use 3 and 4 irons. I was going to buy hybrids any way.

Well let me tell you.. I have been playing for a long time with an old set of crappy clubs.. finally decided to upgrade and after reading many internet reviews/trips to the local golf store, etc.. I went for these Mizuno. They are just fantastic and dropped my score from the mid 90s to now 70-80... I am a happy customer..

It is indeed a better way to have the golf clubs with a lower price and better control. At the web site http://www.mygolfwholesale.com they supply with customers golf clubs of golf wholesale method.

TaylorMade R7 Draw Iron Set ----Hot in the Golf Course by mygolfwholesale@gmail.com

The new r7 Draw irons are the latest distance innovation from TaylorMade. This revolutionary design makes the new r7 .Draw irons

more forgiving and more workable than ever before.

So let us to see some reviews of the TaylorMade R7 Draw Iron Set:

These clubs have been fantastic for me!! when i bought these from a pro shop in chester i

never knew what they would do for me. when i bought these i played off 20 i now play off 9

and all because of these irons. well done taylor made!!

These clubs are simply brilliant. When I say I've tried many sets of

irons,ImeanLOADS...Ping's, Callaways, Nike's, Clevelands etc....but these things come out

way on top!

So, why? Well, I'm not saying they are going to suit everyone, but I've suffered from a

slight slice/fade for ever, occasionally I could hit straight shots with my old irons, but

9 times out of 10 slight fade. That's not too bad I hear you say, but I've always wanted to

draw and be able to shape my shots, and now I can.

I've only had these clubs a short time, and the very first time I took them upto my club

and hit 50 practice shots. I would say 40 were dead straight, 8 were draws and a couple of

miss-hit slices.

So, if you want to help to enable you to straighten your shots and even put a little draw

on your shots, these clubs definitely help, but they won't be THE cure, you'll still need

to be able to hit a golf ball relatively well.

I picked up my set brand new for ￡225 on ebay, they were a steal, but make sure they are

not fakes...Check serial number on 7 iron etc for authenticity!

I'll be keeping these in my bag for a very long time, thnkyou Taylor Made, brilliant irons,

so good I've bought the draw driver too, just waiting for it to arrive :-)

These are great irons. I bought a Taylormade driver several years ago and decided to try

their irons. These clubs really get the ball up into the air. They hit much straighter than

my previous set. The shafts might be a little long for my height (5'6"), but I just choke

up a little and they fit fine. They have a great feel at impact and are easy to hit. I

would recomend these clubs to anyone.

If you want to know more information of the clubs, you can go to the the website

http://www.mygolfwholesale.com they supply with customers golf clubs of golf wholesale
method.

Nike SQ Sumo Series by golfdiscountsale@hotmail.com

Nike SQ SUMO 5000 Fairway Wood Trying to find the middle with the long ball? Many of those who have been golfing for a long time can benefit from some type of golf lessons. The good news is that there are all sorts of options you can follow to get successful coaching to improve your golf.

There are many different ways you can go about receiving golf coaching. Most golf clubs have club professionals on staff that are more than happy to offer lessons at a fee.

http://improving-your-golf.blogspot.com

The benefit of coaching like this is that you can get one on one coaching advice that is certainly great help to improve your swing. This sort of golf lessons is also helpful because you are utilizing the skills and knowledge of a golf professional to help you improve your swing and become a more accurate golfer.

Of course no lessons from any pro is going to do you any good unless you practice. A driving range is great for practice but it is not the same as out on the fairways.

It is fair enough to go and belt 100 balls down a fairway, it has to help but the main thing that the majority of golfers need to practice is their short game.

You maybe able to drive the ball down the fairway but if you cannot chip or putt then you can soon end up with a high score on your card from those missed opportunities.

In my opinion the best way to practice what you were taught by your professional coach is to get out there under pressure with your mates or better still join a club and play with A and B grade players who will also tell you what you are doing wrong as well.

Believe it or not, you can find some great golf video lessons online at various websites. These video lessons address particular parts of the golf game, so if you are looking for a way to improve your stance, get more distance from your drive, or learn how to play out of a bunker you can certainly find it online!

If you want to get better at the game of golf, you can't go wrong when you search for improve your golf. There are a lot of people who have learned about the game in seminars, from professional coaches, and online lessons as well as through playing this great game.

Above all, the most important part of improving your golf is to get out on the fairways and test out what you've been told. Learning through doing might be the best coaching of all.

Callaway Lady's X-20 VS X-22 by golfdiscountsale@hotmail.com

Callaway Lady's X-20 VS X-22 Irons crafted to give you the world's most forgiving performance Experience the same great playability that X Series Irons are know for, with technology, innovation and playability design elements that take them â€" and your game â€" to the next level.

Grip: Women's Winn Grip for ultimate feel and control Shaft: Women's Callaway Golf X-20 Graphite Shaft Engineered for Women Progressive Wall Reduction System Callaway Golf engineers lowered the center of gravity (CG) an additional 6 percent, progressively, throughout the X-20 set (over the X-18 Irons) for improved feel.

Extreme Notch Weighting and 360-Degree Undercut Channel Extreme Notch Weighting redistributes more weight to the extreme perimeter of the club head, creating a high moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness and more stability. The 360-Degree Undercut Channel maximizes perimeter weighting by moving the CG lower and farther back in the club head, enlarging the hitting area and stabilizing the club head for more forgiveness.

Variable Face Thickness (VFT) Technology VFT Technology maximizes ball speed and perimeter weighting for more distance and forgiveness.

S2H2 and Tru-Bore The Short Straight Hollow Hosel (S2H2) increases discretionary weight by removing it from the hostel and repositioning it in the perimeter of the club head. The Tru-Bore design improves feel and club head control by allowing the shaft to extend through the hostel to the sole. Callaway has always had the same goal in mind when it comes to X Series irons - set the performance standard for the industry. The new X-22 Irons don't disappoint and are the best X Series irons Callaway has ever created. By maximizing perimeter weighting, these irons boast an MOI (moment of inertia) that's 10% higher than their predecessors. The ideal CG (center of gravity) position has been preserved, generating optimal ball-flight trajectories. The Modified Tru-Bore design has been incorporated, dampening vibration for enhanced feel and the tour-inspired head shape has a slightly thinner topline and sole with a large sweet spot for improved aesthetics and forgiveness that will boost any golfer's confidence. Features: 1. Precision notch weighting raises the MOI while maintaining the optimal CG position. 2. Tour-inspired head shape includes a thinner top line and narrower sole 3. Sure, you can learn more pointers about your swing and buy a $400 golf gps device, but if you don't have the flexibility and strength to control your body, you won't be able to take advantage of any of this. So, you've got two choices. One, let your game stay pretty much the same. Or...two, start doing the right golf exercises. Golf, after all, is a sport, right?

There are many different golf exercises. For one thing, just getting in shape will radically help your game. It doesn't matter how old you are, either. If you're out of shape, then you can start now with simple exercises like just walking and increasing the distance week by week.

If you're older then you need to include other golf exercises like lifting weights. After about 35 your body naturally looses muscle mass. Also your metabolism slows down. Just starting to life weight 20 minutes a day, three days a week will help recharge your game. You'll get much more enjoyment out of playing. Frankly, you're going to get much more enjoyment out of everything!

If you're in generally good shape, then you can benefit from golf exercises, too. Now, you don't need to start a walking program or basic weight lifting. You're probably already doing these things. What you need are exercises more specific to golf. The main types of exercises you'll want to be doing are ones that strengthen your core, increase your flexibility and range of motion, and also sport specific exercises, such as those that mimic your swing.

One of the best all around golf exercises is called "the plank". The plank addresses weaknesses in the core of your body. Your core is defined as that portion of your body from below your chest to just below your hips. Your core stabilizes your body, and it is where virtually all your power is derived from.

I know you've seen golfers, maybe even professionals, who just crush the ball when they tee off. Well, part of that is superior technique. But the majority of that is a really strong body core.

A proper golf swing rotates the hips one way, then unleashes that power the other way. You basically rotate through the swing as you make it. You might not realize this, because the motion is not that grandiose, but it's really that rotation of the hips that creates the power, which is delivered to the club through your shoulders and arms. The plank is one of my favorite golf exercises because it addresses just this part of the body.

Here's how you do the plank:

Lie down on your stomach

Now rest your torso on your forearms. That is your arms from the hands to the elbows should be touching the ground.

Next curl up your toes so that you're resting the bottom of your body on your toes.

Straighten your body out so that it forms...a plank!

Hold this for ten seconds.

Work up to one, then two minutes.

Do three sets of these.

You can also do a side plank, which is an even better exercise! Just follow the same steps, but rest on just one arm, while keeping your body straight.

Golf exercises like the plank can transform your game. You need to exercise for other reasons, like just for health. But if you're main goal is to improve your game try doing this routing with the plank for two to three weeks. You'll be astonished at what this golf exercise will do.

Next, To learn more about more great golf exercises, check out this resource,

Two Golf Exercises You Absolutely Must Do Today! by Rick Cole

Want to know two golf exercises that will significantly increase your drive distance, and lower your score? The two exercises we're going to talk about here, will do both. They wont take long to do, and they'll not only improve your game, but they'll increase your enjoyment of the game. Before we talk about these particular exercises, let's talk about the golf swing and what really matters as far as body mechanics.

There are basically two things going on from an overall body mechanics point of view that affect golf. One of these is core strength and the other is range of motion. Most golfers suffer in both areas and need golf exercises to cover both areas. In this article we're going to talk about two exercises that affect core strength and swing strength.

Core strength is the key to good golf, but you also need swing strength. Although many types of exercises will help, exercises that most resemble the motions you do in golf will help the most. This way, your body can translate its new found strength into motions that work well in golf more easily.

The first exercise we're going to discuss is called the lunge twist. This exercise is really cool because it both strengthens your core and also helps train your shoulders and top of your torso to deliver a strong swing.

Let's talk about the steps to the lunge twist.

This exercise is best done with some kind of weight. You don't need much, because you're going to keep your arms extended. Five pounds, ten pounds, something like that will do.

Next stand straight with your arms in front of you, holding the weight in both hands.

Now, step out in a big lunge. You don't have to go down really far at first. Build you way up to it.

As you step out into the lunge, twist your body toward that same side and with your arms out in front of you extended, twist back as if you're swinging a golf club.

Stand up straight.

Do the same on the other side.

Do a few reps of these, and three sets, if you can.

This is an exercise you can do easily anywhere. You don't have to use a real weight like something you'd find in the gym. You can hold anything that's heavy. For best effect, do this at least three times per week.

Also, don't overdo it at first. If you're out of shape, just do what you can. Best to get back in shape slowly, as opposed to hurting yourself.

The next exercise is called the full swing exercise. Again, in this golf exercise, we're mimicking the real golf swing as best we can. For this exercise, you're going to need one of those stretchy exercise bands. If not, then you can use a weight and hold it in your hand, although it's not quite the same. (Buy a stretchy exercise band; they're very inexpensive.)

Nest, to learn more about the best golf exercise, check out my website.

What Kind of Golf Bag Should You Have? by Brad Long

Golf bags are an essential part of playing the game of golf. Whether you ride in a cart or walk the course you need a golf bag. So the question is what kind and what size of a golf bag do you really need? Some bags offer a fashion statement and others offer the chance to show off your favorite brands. Some are big, some are mediums, and some like professional golf bags are huge.

You will discover some golfers who love to walk and will have a bag that accommodates them with straps that go around the shoulders much like a back pack would. Then you will see other golfers who have a more professional looking bag that is well suited for a golf cart. Often these bags are considered riding bags and fit well with a golf cart because they are more sturdy, and have less of a chance falling off the cart during your round.

For all practical reasons a bag should be large enough to carry your golf clubs and accessories like balls, gloves, tees, golf gear, an umbrella, and personal items for easy storage.

You may also find it beneficial to have handy some tissues, band aids, insect repellent, or tape to go around your fingers like Tiger Woods has in case you wear down some skin and need extra protection. Golf is a very difficult sport much harder than it looks so giving yourself the proper essentials to have at your disposal during a round of golf can make your game much more enjoyable. Of course whether you walk or ride is going to be your decision so when buying a golf bag you should plan accordingly.

Golf bags can be misleading? By this I mean you will often see golfers with big professional looking bags and other golfers with a much smaller bags that look as though it was purchased 10 years ago. So which player do you think has a better game? Most would assume the player with the larger professional bag is better right? Not so fast I have personally seen many a golfer with big expensive looking bags and couldn't play a lick. What's the lesson? Never judge a book by its cover. How you chose to represent yourself on the golf course is up to you, and while there is not doubt having nice equipment such as a fresh shiny new bag is great, it doesn't automatically make you a good golfer.

Now that we have our bag situation figured out let's talk about the one thing you should not have in your golf bag. Any guesses on what this is? Yep you guessed it - your cell phone. Today there are golf courses that will require you to turn them off before you tee off the first hole. The starter on the first tee goes over the rules explaning what to expect and what the local rules are. These rules are more often requiring that you not talk on your cell phone during the round. So if you're one of those people who is constantly on your cell phone it may be wise to call the golf course first and see what their policy is on cell phones.

So now that you know some of the basic rules on the golf course and you got your golf bag with the essentials its time to get out and play a round of golf and enjoy yourself.
