Good News Everyone!

Canonet QL17 GIII

2011-06-27T22:53:00.000-04:00

I've recently purchased a Canon QL17 3rd generation and I have to say that I am loving this camera.

Benefits include:
-Camera is unimposing (great for street photography)
-Uses a leaf shutter, making the camera quieter than the clack clack of an SLR
-It's a rangefinder (Oh, I do love my rangefinders)
-Light weight (great for my fragile, weak arms)
-Able to use full manual or use aperture priority, automatic exposure, or even full manual.

Downsides:
-Requires an outlawed mercury battery
-require a lens hood that is an awkward 42mm
-focusing is a bit awkward for the way I would hold an SLR due to the lever of some sort that juts out of the focusing ring.

But these downsides are all rendered moot once you actually get a hold of this camera and discover how fun it is to handle and shoot with this camera.

Here's a sample shot I took at the park:

Good news everyone! I'm back!

2011-06-27T22:40:00.000-04:00

The professor is back!

I'll be back doing technological reviews and such later, right now I must invent a sweater folding unit. I'm rather old and frail, you know.

I'm back, everyone!

2010-11-02T08:33:00.000-04:00

After some recent run ins with some medical complications and draw backs due to some payments my insurance doesn't cover, I am back! I do apologize for dropping into the blue(SM64 ref.) like that, but I am back now!
I have been diagnosed and treated for some rather major complications, but I am recovering nicely. I will be back later today with a follow up post that will have a lighter mood!

Good news, Treyarch!

2010-10-21T19:09:00.001-04:00

With the soon release of Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, many have been looking forward to where Infinity Ward screwed up so badly on their last try with Modern Warfare 2.
I fully realize that Treyarch is not Infinity Ward and is fully capable of putting out decent games for us (Call of Duty 3, and World at War)
arguably, World at War was the most balanced Call of Duty game since Call of Duty 2 and has been on of my personal favorites. I was on the ropes about buying Black Ops, but now after the live events, interviews, BETA leaks, and viDocks, I am more than happy to place my preorder down for this game.

I will spare any depth into what we can expect, because all that information is out there somewhere already. To me this game looks like a combination of every great game in the history of FPS.
Wager matches include a game that seems similar to Golden Eye, bots in multiplayer like in BF2, customization you have only seen this extensive in custom skins.

Call of Duty: Black Ops comes out in 19 days and I can assure you I most likely will not be disappointed with this one like I was Modern Warfare 2.

2010-10-18T17:22:00.000-04:00

Today has been rather exciting in the world of Runescape 2.0T5 today, we've had audio updates and the Halloween event has come out.
Jagex actually looks to have pulled their shit together and actually come out with a decent event, the last decent one I can think of is when they sent us to attack all the little children for their candy.

Here are a few pictures from the event that I took!

On top of all this merriment I did manage to gain 1 mining level and am 8k from leveling up in smithing

A few minutes ago I was slaying those large tongued beasties in the Slayer Tower. So
What am I doing now?
Right now I am currently gathering enough Mort Myre Fungi to get a black mask to make a slayer helm so I may raise my Slayer (about 1.7k of them)

225 day challenge everyone!

2010-10-18T01:40:00.000-04:00

225 days. Oh my, I've never stuck with anything as long as this.
I shall be playing the browser based MMORPG known as Runescape for the next 225 days to achieve 99 mining.
I know not many people are fond of this game, but I find joy in playing it. I'm not attacking any of your games you play, so kindly do not attack the ones I play.

What does that mean for this blog? Why, it means I shall add a new progress report everyday and also give you some insight of what is happening in my life that is (not so) interesting!

Good day, everyone!

Time for tickles

2010-09-29T17:38:00.000-04:00

Oh my, yes. Indeed, it is time for tickles! Now, everyone scuttle along then. Into to my TRANSPROSITRATOR!

Good connection, everyone!

2010-09-27T13:20:00.000-04:00

Good news, everyone! It seems that I have stumbled upon a more reliable ISP in my area. My transfer is complete and I should now have a more reliable connection! Expect more from me more frequently!

Goodbye for now.

Current time for spending online

2010-09-20T17:32:00.000-04:00

Bad news, everyone. It seems that my current schedule doesn't allow for me to have much free time. Currently I am going for my M.D. and need to work late shifts to support myself. I will update my blog whenever I can, however I do spend a lot of my free time between classes reading all of my friends' blogs; if you are reading this then that is most likely you!
I do enjoy reading everyone's advancements in life, especially all of the people giving me tips and guides to starcraft 2, and it my current main source of entertainment. Even if I don't take my time to produce some whimsicle new submission, do know that I am keeping up to date with all of you.
As the kids say: Catch you on the flip side; or some jazz like that.

Poetry, everyone!

2010-09-12T14:21:00.000-04:00

I wrote this poem a few months ago for my girlfriend, whom I consider much more that that flimsy title. I was getting rather tired of being away from her and only being able 1 day a week of seeing her, so I drafted this poem. I hope you enjoy it.

My love for her cannot be expressed
There are not enough roses in the world,
That I can present to her which leaves me depressed,
All they will do is become withered and old

My love burns for her hotter than stars in the sky
I look to the moon,
Resting up so high
And I think of her, how we will be together soon

It fills the lake with a silver glow of light
Portraying her brown hair as ripples in the river
Her marvelous smile and soft face shine bright
Her determination will leave you to quiver

She has gone through many changes and much pain
But yet she still stands strong
I want to help her stay dry, out of the rain
Anyone who says I can't is completely wrong.

Her beauty should not be measured simply on the outside
But it should be on the inside to
But even then i will confide
Her beauty surpasses anyone known to you

She is like a rose
Such elegant flow of personality on her pedals
But grab her thorns and remorse will be what flows
Through you, however, you notice she is more beautiful than angels

If she were put in a field of flowers
She would shine out with the radiance
Of a rainbows prodigious colors
None of the other roses beauty has a chance

As she laughs, I laugh
And as she cries, I cry
From our love we quaff,
I only hope that our time together will never die

As she stands in the middle of the lake,
Glowing off of the silver moonlight
Her beauty can not be fake
It is her, the one i fell in love with that one night

She is my love
And no one can ever take her place
I will love her forever after death and above
No one can match her beauty no one can match her grace

I wish to be with her forever
They're keeping us apart, keeping her from me.
I hope soon we will be together
Finally with you in my arms, Ebonie.

Some new books!

2010-09-08T14:40:00.000-04:00

Good news everyone! I recently took a ride down to my local Barns & Nobel to pick up quite a few books.
I had read in my past a book called "The Gargoyle" by Andrew Davidson and needed my own copy. I probably spent about $150 on books. Among which I bought 4 of Stephen Hawking's books, including his new book "The Grand Design"
I am only about 24 page into it, but I must say that I am enjoying it thoroughly. You do need to know some prerequisites, such as string theory being revised to become M theory and such.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet, simply because I cannot keep my nose out of this book for very long.

Unordinary experience

2010-09-05T13:06:00.000-04:00

I went over this weekend to visit my family and we took a typical ride over to church. I myself am not a religious man, but it would be rude of me to disrespect my own families customs. 4/5ths through the undertaking of being in church and almost near the end the presidor appeared to be slumping a bit in his chair. We all waited for him to move up to the alter to lead us after Communion.

During prayer, Father John Benedict died during the final mass of the day. He was 76 years old.

Being one who has had much encounters with death throughout his life, I did not take much mind to it; I didn't even know the man. But to see the sheer raw emotions on the faces of Catholic partitioners, I was flooded with grief for them. Gentlemen, I will see you on Monday.

Black Ops is looking more and more like BF2+CS:S w/ a little GE

2010-09-02T11:45:00.003-04:00

Being a BF2 and CSS fan I am nearly bent on buying the game. All these feature:
-Currency system
-Multiplayer w/ bots
-Theater
-Leaping into prone
-A snot load of character and weapon customizations
-Wager matches
-ect ect

At this point I am all for trading in my MW2 disc for some extra cash to buy this game. I'd still like some sort of BETA to give my specific input on what needs to be changed in the game, though.

Bringing back memories

2010-09-01T07:15:00.000-04:00

I recently saw a blog post about the Beatles, so being a typical ignorant American.. Don McLean popped into my head. I listened to this song on my parents' old 8-track tape player much during my childhood and decided I'd listen to this song one more time. I was overcome with all the joys and freedom of being a 6 year old lad dancing around to this and I'd like to share it with you:

Zelda Banner

2010-08-31T17:46:00.000-04:00

Good news, everyone! I finished a project for a friend of mine where I had to use blur, 3 images, and transparency! It's my last night with Fireworks CS5 trial, so I figured why not...

What?

2010-08-31T08:19:00.000-04:00

A friend of mine and I were at a Starbucks, joking around and he said to me, "You're a heterosexual, Caucasian Homosapien who bring in large mounts of monetary support for yourself!"

All of a sudden this large, grotesque, ghetto bitch two tables away from us just so happened to be eavesdropping in on our conversation while guzzling down some sort of frappachino with another of her "colleagues." Immediately after my friend made this statement she turned to her left side and faced us while bellowing the most obnoxious and irritating tone I had ever heard emit from a human oral cavity:

"Oh damn son! He just burned yo ass! damn!!"

I simply ask you this..
What?

Call of Duty: Black Ops

2010-08-31T06:12:00.000-04:00

In an interview to Inside Gaming, a rep. from Treyarch released that there would be a larger reveal of the game come September 1st. Many have been lead to jump at the conclusion of an Xbox 360 exclusive beta and that is what I am willing to expect will happen.

It was leaked through a google ad that callofduty.com is going to release the beta for the newest lineup in the series, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was faked... Kids can do some mighty fine things on the internet these days. You can read more about this here

I am a fan of the old Call of Duty games, but with the recent release of Modern Warfare 2 and playing it for about 3 hours before breaking the disc.. I was turned off to the thought of buying another game in the series. I'll certainly have to either rent it or see some actual game play before I want to step behind the wheel. Love it or hate it Call of Duty is a power hitter in console first person shooters, it just won't be one title I'll be pre ordering this fall season.

Religious Bumper Stickers

2010-08-30T23:38:00.000-04:00

My girlfriend was tired and didn't bother to finish some work she had for her World Lit. course, so I decided to surprise her and finish it myself.

The Project:
I had to create 3 bumper stickers based on the world religions (I was a little upset when I found out Zoroastrianism wasn't on the list...) and they had to fit in the following catagories: Economy, Social, and Political.

I'm not much of an artist, but I tried my best in the 45 minutes I had until she had to wake up and get ready for classes.

Here's my finished project!

Social Networking Journey

2010-08-30T15:07:00.000-04:00

Oh how I've tried many social sites. I've started with myspace and then moved onto tumblr, then facebook. I've even bought a 200USD camera to make youtube videos with.. which.. failed miserably. Oh, so miserably... Now I'm giving it one last shot, one last change to get my head back into a hobby.

Good news, everyone! I am a Futurama fanboy and have created a blog and website where you can read everything in my old, haggard voice!

My last shot before I give up social sites and blogging all together, let's hope this turns out to be good news after all!

Youtube - Free Movies

2010-08-30T12:40:00.000-04:00

Good news, everyone! Youtube now supplies free NA-17 movies!

Bad news, nobody. It seems the free movies on youtube are by some spaztex who have no directing qualifications at all. Those movies are terrible. Just truly awful.. Oh heavens, they are bad...

Good news, everyone! XNXX has a lot of free content!

Can't wait for Reach!

2010-08-30T10:54:00.000-04:00

I've been known to be a Halo-typewad... I've always enjoyed the Halo games. I still remember all the fun my little brother and I had playing Halo: CE for days straight. If this game doesn't cheer me up while I'm down, then I suppose it'll be time to buy myself a N64 to bring back some good memories.

What feature in Reach are you most excited about? Personally for me it's the upgrades to the Forge system and the maps: Forge World and Blood Gulch.

Found a band I rather enjoy

2010-08-30T09:38:00.000-04:00

It's rare for me to reach out to the new generation for music... I am rather picky and suppose I have an odd ear for music - or so my colleagues tell me..

[Day 1]Good News, Everyone!

2010-08-30T09:23:00.000-04:00

I'm going to start giving a daily outline of all the positives things I accomplish each day.

Good news, everyone! I've just finished reading "An Abundance of Katherines" by John Green; I've grown quite keen of John's writing style and for some reason read all of his books in his voice. I wonder what else I read in other peoples voices..

Good news, everyone! I watched the entire House M.D. marathon on USA without going for another cup of coffee!

Good news, everyone! I am done with this one for today! Don't forget to comment telling me your good news today!
