Hello my dear sweet Lovelies,

Sorry I haven't been in blogland much since coming home, how are you all? I do hope you have been taking good care of your lovely selves.

I've had my two beautiful nieces stay with me for a couple of nights while they were in town for the school holidays. They are back at home with their wonderful Mum my beautiful sister. While the girls were here we veg'd out by watching dvds and one of the movies I fell in love with was Julie & Julia. Oh, how this movie has touched me...I loved it so much I had to own a copy of it and watch it again. I have been inspired by both these ladies and also their husbands. I fell in love with there passion and how they did something about it instead of just dreaming about what they love to do they did it and didn't let obstacles get in the way and give up...like I have done so many times before. I can really relate to Julie, when she says that she has never finished anything...that really rang true for me. I could understand her excitement when she got her first comment on her blog and felt for her when that comment was from her Mum. There was so much in this movie that touched me, like how encouragement from a loved one can give you wings to soar and to follow what your passionate about, it helps when you have cheerleaders in your life. Sometimes though we can become obsessed with pursuing our dreams that we become so self focused that we neglect our loved ones as Julie found out but she soon learnt from her wrongs and made them right and found a balance. We need balance, to much of one thing is no good and how much sweeter is the journey when we share it and take the time to appreciate those we love. As for Julia, this remarkable woman I so want to glean from, she didn't let her age stop her from anything. I don't know about you but I think about my age quite a lot especially since I'm nearing 40. Julia not only married later she also pursued what she was passionate about later in life and I didn't hear her whine about not being able to do anything because of her age to me she just got on with living the life that she had and was supported by her adoring husband who was her biggest cheerleader. What a blessing this wonderful man was, so patient, loving and supportive. He was with her 100% in whatever she wanted to do.
I know, I do waffle on don't I?

Just today as I was visiting this wonderful blog by Lynette @ Imagination Lane Lynette, has her favorite quote on the wall and it really grabbed me.

Hi Sweet Lovelies,

This is a quick post just to let you know that I won't be blogging for a few weeks. I'm going to visit with my sister's family from this saturday for about a week and then I'll be going into hospital and will be gone for another 5days and then back home, hopefully:) And just before I came on today my computer monitor decided it wanted to die on me so I'll get another monitor when I get back as I'm unable to get one now. I'm writing this post on my old laptop that is really slow but at least she lets me do a post but not much else as she takes forever to load a page, oh and I can check my emails..hehe
Anyway enough of me rambling, take care of yourselves and those you love.

Hi Lovelies,

It's a glorious rainy day here in my part of the world. I think I've told you before how much I love rainy days :) I hope wherever you are in this big old world of ours that you too are having a fabulous day and the weather is just how you like it.

Well, my dear sweet Lovelies, I've been creating in my creative space, for my creative space (what a mouthful). I'm so having a ball trying to get my space looking pretty for when you visit with me for the blog party "Where Bloggers Create". I hope you all like what I've modge podged, I forgot to get a before shot of the create sign but try and picture craft wood :) and as for the frame I wanted to make a place to put the key and quote that my sweet Evana, gave me before she left for Western Australia. It was pretty the way it was but I wanted a special place for it and the quote is just so beautiful. She really does see me through rose coloured glasses ;)

Hello Sweet Lovelies!

Today I'm sharing with you a gift I was given by my precious and beautiful friend Evana. It's not the gift alone that means so much but the thoughtfulness behind it. God has blessed me so much when He brought Evana, and I together as friends. And even though she has moved to the other side of Australia she still finds ways to spread sunshine into my life and into the lives of others.

Pretty Pink House

I came across this sweet pink house while I was driving back home from visiting with my Sister. I can't remember exactly what town this little treasure was situated in but hopefully my Mum does so when I go to visit with my Sis again I can stop and take some better photo's. It looked like it was abandoned but I wasn't too sure so I felt a little funny taking pics so they're not the best.

I am so in love with this gorgeous place and the more I look at the pics the more I would love to see more of the outside and to go inside would just be superb. I could really see myself living in this little treasure...oh I love to dream...how wonderful to own your home...maybe one day...I am thankful to God for the place I do live in, the rent is the cheapest in town which is such a blessing in itself and I'm slowly decorating it with my thrift store finds :)I will show you some pics of my sweet little duplex one day I promise :)

Soldered Charms

Procrastinating!!!

Do you procrastinate??

I know I do, let me tell you a story :) and hopefully I won't bore you too much :)

For quite a while now I've been wanting try my hand at making soldered charms. I stumbled upon Cathy Pentons blog Simple Things Small Joys and I was just so captivated by these beautiful charms. I told my friends and family about these charms and how I was going to try and make them, I was so excited. Now, I didn't have a clue as to what I needed to do or get so I emailed Cathy and she was just so lovely and helpful, from there I started getting the tools I needed. That was all back in June of 2009. Talk about procrastinating!!! I sat on all of this for the longest time because I didn't want to fail, I was scared that I wasn't going to do a good enough job. It wasn't till recently that a wonderful friend gave me a gentle nudge and put her order in for her daughters birthday. Sorry, but I forgot to get a pic of the charm but I did get a pic of a charm that I made recently for that same friends birthday.
Now me being me still thinks I stink at making charms but I do have to give myself a break. Cathy, shared with me that making charms isn't one of those crafts that you can start making them tomorrow and they're perfect...I had forgotten about that wonderful piece of advice until I came across her email again recently. So I'm going to be a bit nicer to myself and get back to it and just keep on practicing.

I've been showered in flowers...yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

It all started on Wednesday and continued until Friday....flowers! flowers! flowers!

An exquisite flower arrangement with assorted flowers such as roses, lilies, daisies and some others I don't know the name to...sorry!

Gorgeous pink flowering pot plants and I love their name "Seventh Heaven Cyclamen"

A pretty tea cup with a lovely pink flower...so sweet :)

A beautiful bunch of delicate pink roses,

Elegant satin bag with flowers embroidered in ribbon and filled with rose scented potpourri.

Wonderful cards with pink roses and one with a pink daisy, don't you just adore getting cards from people you love?

Oh how beautiful to be surrounded in flowers and how abundantly blessed am I to have such generous, thoughtful and loving friends and family to celebrate my birthday with. I love you all very very much! Thank you for loving me :)

Have you heard of Business 2 Blogger??
I found out about this place from the Lovely Natalie @ { my life less ordinary } pop over and say hi to Nat she has a wonderful blog and I reckon her family must have a blast, just seeing the photos she takes makes me smile :) Thanks Nat for letting me know about Business 2 Blogger!

As you know I was asked to do a review about some lighting I got for free, well I had so much fun I thought I would see what Business 2 Blogger was all about. From my understanding its businesses and bloggers working together, and B2B are the ones that make it all possible. A business has something that they want promoted...lets say a light..they offer a blogger a light in exchange for them to write a review on that light and company. Its a win win because the blogger has advertised for the company putting the word out for them and the blogger is happy because they have a beautiful new light. :)
I've just signed up to Business 2 Blogger because to me its a fabulous opportunity for both parties and I don't know about you, Sweet Lovelies but who wouldn't mind getting something nice from time to time, I know I'd LOVE it!!!

Oh my golly gosh!!! Hello My Sweet Lovelies!!!

I'm shaking with excitement and I'm doing the pink happy dance hehe

In case you haven't guessed my light has arrived from Buyster Lighting I blogged about it last week, if you'd like to read about it you can go here.

Lovelies, I am totally blown away, I was amazed that this wonderful Australian Company contacted me in the first place, it didn't seem real that they wanted me "Melly" to write a review on one of their products.
I want to thank Buyster Lighting for this fabulous and generous opportunity and also a big thank you to Maree who was just so lovely, she helped and encouraged me every step of the way because I had no clue as what to do.There prompt service was impressive also, I picked the light I wanted ( It was love at first site as soon as I saw her I new that she was the one....yes, my light, is a "she" hehe) Maree placed the order and a few days after the light I ordered was here.
woooooooohooooooooooo....golly this has all got to be a dream *pinch* ouch!! nope, no dreamin' going on here :)

Monday morning at 9 something o'clock I had a knock on my door, there stood the delivery man. I quickly signed for it and went inside and unwrapped the box..I will add it was wrapped securely so as nothing got damaged, thanks guys. Golly,I was so giddy with excitement... I tell you what, this little lady is even more gorgeous in real life, the gorgeous clear crystal like beads adorn the beautiful chrome design and to me it is both elegant and bling-a-liscious..hehe..I LOVE IT!!!! If you are looking to create a romantic atmosphere or make a room sing I highly recommend this beautiful and very affordable light...or maybe its not your cup of tea, Buyster Lighting have a huge range of Lights/Lamps to cater to your tastes.

I also want to thank all of my lovely sweet bloggers who also encourage and inspire me I have continually been blessed by you all and I really do owe you a big hug and thank you for the beauty you all bring into my life on a daily basis my life is indeed richer because of you.

My Sweet Lovelies, as you know I'm a hopeful romantic and I love to create a beautiful atmosphere and in my opinion lighting plays such a huge part in doing just that, don't you agree?
Just recently I was sent an email from BuysterLighting an Australia Company giving me a wonderful opportunity of receiving one of their Lights/Lamps to the value of $65 and all I have to do is write a review...well I am over the moon I can't believe they contacted me in the first place and corresponding with Maree, who by the way is a sweetie, has been so wonderful. Ok Sweet Lovelies I'm off to choose from the huge range of Lights, will it be a Floor Lamp that would be great in my living room or maybe a pretty Light Fixture...oh decisions, decisions...oh golly, I'm just about to jump out of my skin. I'm so looking forward to playing show and tell with you all so please check back for my review and see what Light I choose.

Hiya My Sweet Lovelies,

I'm back home after spending some time with my beautiful Mum, Sister, Nephew and Nieces. I had such a fantastic time and I found out that I'm going to be a Great Aunty and like I said to my Nephew and soon to be Niece-in-law that I always thought I was a pretty great Aunty anyway..hehe..oh how I love my Sister and her absolutely fantastic children who bless me so much..my sis has done such a wonderful job in raising such sweet children...oh I mean young adults. I have always loved being and Aunty, it's music to my ears to hear them call me Aunty Liss, it blesses my heart indeed. I love you all and miss you so much already. xoxoxoxox

So My Sweet Lovelies, how are you all? I do hope you all had a wonderful Easter :) As much as I love being with my family it is also good to be back home to start with some much needed spring cleaning and to tackle so many projects that I've put on the back burner. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all :)
