First iOS Game

2014-04-30T11:50:00.001-04:00

Poopy The Pigeon is on the loose! You can download it free to your iDevice! Click here!

Basically I wrote Poopy the Pigeon just to see how things worked, adding an app to the Apple App Store, figuring out how to integrate the Leaderboards and just getting graphics and what not on the screen.

But it turns out that it's a fun little game. Go ahead and play and check out http://www.poopythepigeon.com for updates!

Custom wall mural - mural wallpaper made just for you!

2011-01-30T11:09:00.000-05:00

If you are looking for something cool to do with the design of a room, and you have the right space for it, a custom wallpaper mural is amazing. I can remember giant space murals in kids rooms or forests in restaurants, but murals have moved so far past that now. Think of a giant old world map mural printed on cloth and hung on a curtain rod. It's an amazing look. A unique mural can just make a room into something special.

When you are looking for a wall mural that has that unique quality you need to be able to choose your own photo. I'm sure everyone is getting sick of the men eating lunch on a high rise in New York. What you need to do is pick your own photo from a stock photo site like iStockPhoto or canStockPhoto and create your own custom wallpaper mural or other mural.

If you are looking for a custom wall mural or want to explore giant printing of any kind for your home (or your business) check out those stock photo sites and then find a wall mural printer like Advance Murals in Canada to get it done.

I'm sure you will find the results are amazing!

Flatbed Printing

2011-01-21T20:09:00.000-05:00

I know what you are thinking! Why do I need flatbed printing ... what is flatbed printing?

Well let's say you wanted to print on foamcore, or print on coroplast even print on fabric ... then you need flatbed printing.

It's a printer that can feed the sheet through in one big piece. Much better than printing onto paper and then mounting on foamcore. Flatbed printing is the coolest.

Now, not only is it pretty cool that you can print on foamcore directly, but you can also get bio-degradable foamcore and help the environment at the same time!

Check it out, it's worth it. If you are anywhere in Canada, then I recomment using http://www.flatbedprinting.ca

Going through Separation in Canada

2010-07-13T12:57:00.000-04:00

My separation and subsequent divorce were one of the most trying times in my life. Your support system that you normally rely on is the force that now appears to be acting against you.

Of course, as time goes on, you become less bitter and emotional about it, but during the initial transition from "Us" to "Me" it was hard going.

I recommend trying as many diferent separation support groups on the web as you can. Don't use your real name, you don't have to post, sometimes it just helps to read what others are going through.

Either way I recommend checking a Google search of "going through a separation in Canada" to get you started.

Some of my favourite programming quotes

2010-02-02T09:13:00.000-05:00

These are some of my favourite quotes about computer programming and sundry:

"A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good." - Steven Wright

"A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exception of tequila and handguns" - Mitch Radcliffe

"Life would be so much easier if we only had the source code." - Unknown

"I want to change the world, but they won't give me the source code." - Unknown

"I intend to live forever ... so far so good" - Steven Wright

"There are two ways to write error-free code; only the third one works" - Anonymous

"Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live." - Martin Golding

DVD Duplication

2009-12-29T14:22:00.000-05:00

Creating a movie to advertise your product or service is getting cheaper and cheaper. Once you have the movie created you can stream it from your website, but you can also hand it out at Trade Shows and in store fronts cheaply on DVD.

Say you are standing at your trade show booth and talking to a potential client about the value prospect of your service. Giving them a nicely packaged DVD is a great way to have them remember you when they get home. They can watch the DVD, show it to colleagues or family and then make their purchase decision.

Get DVD duplication done isn't as expensive or time consuming as you might think. Most new computers Mac and PC come with dvd authoring software built in. Then just send it away for dvd duplication and you get back a beautiful promotional product that is sure to wow!

Sometimes you need to ADVERTISE!!!

2009-12-15T15:14:00.000-05:00

So you are in business and you are thinking about signing up for that next Trade Show! But ... what do you take with you? You can be one of those with the fold up tables, throw a skirt around it, a bunch of propaganda media on top, some swag and you're done! Of course, then do you really look like a successful business? Are the thousands of potential widget-buyers passing by your presence really noticing?

That's where it's time to pick up some merchandise! Even a small business can afford some banner stands or a small trade show booth. These displays can add punch to your presence!

Also it's a good idea to get rid of the table across the front. It's an instant barrier between you and potential customers.

Trade show displays are great for attracting attention and you can use them again and again.

Kitchener Moms Forum

2009-12-10T10:30:00.000-05:00

I always found the web works in many ways. It brings together like minded people from across the globe for certain things and other times it brings local people together that have the same interests.

For example, if you are looking for that rare part for your 1939 Ford, you probably need the biggest audience you can get. However if you are looking for the best place to host your child's birthday party in Kitchener, Ontario, chances are, someone from Paris, Texas isn't going to be able to help you.

That why I like the idea of KWMoms.com. Mothers/Moms are a group that like to chat and ask about how they can get the most for their kids. In Kitchener and Waterloo, the KWMoms site gives them that ability in a great looking format.

So if you are looking for kw moms or a moms forum in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Ontario, then check out the site.

I know it's still under construction, but it seems to be gaining ground.

Shit my dad says ...

2009-12-08T13:56:00.000-05:00

If you haven't traversed through the twitter about Shit My Dad Says its worth the ride. I found it hilarious. http://twitter.com/Shitmydadsays

It made me think of some of the times I found my dads words a bit amusing. I remember him saying:

We should never have tought you how to swim, cause now you're too hard to drown.

When I was just learning how to walk, I burned my hands severely on the outside of our oven. Apparently it was a big deal at the time and everyone was extremely worried, however, as I got older apparently it didn't bother them as much. I remember him saying in my teen years.

You still think you were on the outside of the oven don't you?

Check out Justin's feed on twitter. Too funny.

Getting Divorced in Canada ...

2009-12-07T15:35:00.000-05:00

I found out that getting separated and divorced in Canada doesn't have to be as bad as it was for me. I'm not talking about why I got divorced or dealing with the ex, I just mean the actual cost and logistics of getting divorced! It was brutal!

I'm thinking about starting a site on getting separated in Canada and Ontario specifically at www.getdivorced.ca and explain some of the pitfalls that people can avoid.

When I was getting separated I looked for a lot of information and found it all over the place. I also received the best advice AFTER the fact :(
