border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_6325657589789600130" />
It was indeed a historic day. A day that has been anticipated for four
long years. A day that has generated much quarrels and dispute. A day,
the only day, when sovereignty truly belongs to the people. On this
day, we saw men, women, young and old marching to the same location to
choose between 'change' and 'continuity', the umbrella or the broom.
It was the 28th day of March, a Saturday, the Election Day. And
coincidentally, my birthday.
An election means different things to different people. To a
politician, it's a battle that must not be lost. A thug sees a festive
season while an INEC official perceives the opportunity to make their
retirement gratuity in one day. However, to a man who earns his daily
bread tilling the ground, an election and its succeeding transition
holds no meaning if it does not makes his wilting crops greener. Of
what use is a barren new wife? Of what use is the transition in
government if it does not translate to more birds in his pen, more
heaps of yam or enables access to hybrid seeds, tractors and plough?
Hence, as President Muhammadu Buhari - the first Nigerian to unseat a
sitting democratically elected president - celebrates a year in
office, it has become imperative to ask these salient questions: Would
his 'change government' bring about a turnaround in our agricultural
fortune? Would it resuscitate the cocoa that have long disappeared
from our fields, revamp our crumbled groundnut pyramids and return us
to our rightful place in the league of the agricultural superpowers?
What hope for agriculture?
If the contents of the President's interview with Kanayo Nwanze, the
president of the International Fund for Agricultural Development
(IFAD) were anything to go by, then, there is great hope for
agriculture. While responding to questions, the president expressed an
absolute commitment to economic diversification with agriculture
playing the lead role. In his own words: 'It's time to go back to the
land. We must face reality. We campaigned heavily on agriculture and
we are ready to assist as many who want to go into agricultural
ventures. We will articulate our programmes and seek for advice, he
concluded.
As Nigerians are used to politicians and their alluring words, it will
be impossible to take the president's words hook, line and sinker.
After all, his predecessor bamboozled us with stories of the
transformation agenda when there was hardly any cassava bread on sale.
However, for the first time in Nigeria's democratic history, we have a
president who rode to electoral victory on the altar of his discipline
and integrity. Hence, it is not illogical to give him the benefit of
the doubt.
That he flagged off the plantation of 2000 cashew seedlings in Ife,
Osun State 60 days after granting that interview and commenced the
recruitment of over 100,000 Agricultural Officers through the N-power
programme to train and keep rural farmers abreast of ground breaking
research in agriculture are obvious indicators that he strictly mean
business. This is in addition to his directive that all agricultural
loans should not attract more than a 5% interest at any commercial
bank. Gone are the days of paying lip service to agriculture. Indeed,
there is hope!
The increase in the transiting government's allocation to agriculture
is another marker that shows great hope for agriculture. In the
recently-signed 2016 budget, a total of 76,753,672,273 was allocated
to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This is 36
billion naira higher than the 39,151,988,128 budgeted for the same
purpose in 2015. There is no better pointer to the direction a
government is heading than what he intends to do with his money. This
huge financial commitment underlines the readingness of the transiting
government to return our agriculture back to the days of glory.
At a time when oil prices plummeted from 110 dollars to 38 dollars per
barrel, at a time when Professor Ricardo Hausmann of the Harvard
University and Emmanuel Ogezi of University of Benin predicted that
the Nigerian Oil will dry up in 40 years; at a time when states
require bail-out funds to pay workers' salaries, it has become
imperative for any serious government to look beyond the dwindling oil
revenue. As there aren't many alternatives more feasible and reliable
than agriculture, then, there is great hope. More than ever, this
transiting government needs agriculture to resurge the nation's
dwindling revenue and combat the economic hardship occasioned by the
drop in oil prices.
In the end, 'life', as Oliver Wendell Holmes puts it;' is not so much
about where we are now, but the direction in which we are heading.'
With this transition, we are heading, undoubtedly, towards an era of
exceedingly abundant agricultural blessings. The question is: How wide
are your open arms?
ALIU SHERIFF OPEYEMI
sheriphaliu@gmail.com

This is one of the essays submitted for The PAID ESSAY COMPETITION.

WHY NOT NOW ?

If you like delaying , heming and hawing, hesitating, lingering,
loitering , meandering, moseying, moving slowly, procrastinating,
vacillating about your visions and mission all you Will gain
eventually is helping someone else who hates this thing achieve
His/Her dreams.
AT the staggering pace of the Nigerian economy one sure way to live
above financial penury is to add value to any good or Service. That would be terrible!
The Church -- Not a Building,But People As a physical family makes
sure you get fed and loved. The church your local group of believers
will encourage and guide you as you grow spiritually.
One of the most important things your church does is remind you often
of the main points of the gospel, Jesus Christ died to pay the prize
for our sins and rose again to show His power over death.
Everyone who
has by faith received God's free gift is forgiven of their sins and
becomes God's child,Jesus lives in each believer today through His
Holy Spirit, giving them power to live a God-pleasing life.
The Church is a Team Not only do YOU need the church, but the church
needs YOU! Imagine a soccer team where everyone wanted to be the
goalkeeper. How ridiculous to have 11 goalies! God has designed the
church with different roles -- meaning, the team is not complete
without you, and you are lacking without the team.
"But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where
he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes,
there are many parts, but only one body" (1 Corinthians 12:18-20).
One things we should always do is not to see the church as a
Task/Activity/Duty Rather it's an Experience /Communion/Fellowship and
it's also profitable to render Qualitative service before considering
Quantitative service.
Don't Let the Wolves Get You. When a pack of wolves goes hunting, they
try to separate young or weak animals from the herd, where they are
easily captured and eaten. Satan looks for people to devour, just like
wolves do (1 Peter 5:8).
By spending time with other believers, you'll grow strong in your
faith. Then, you can resist the devil, and he'll run away from you
(James 4:7).
Look unto to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, Do you meet
with other believers regularly? God be praised please press on, If
not, ask God to help you find a group of strong believers to meet
with. He knows how desperately you need to be connected to other
followers of Jesus and have a spiritual family.

Further Reading
1 Corinthians 15:58 So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and
immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know
that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
Colossians 3:23 :Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were
working for the Lord rather than for people.
2 Peter 3:14:Therefore, beloved, as you anticipate these things, make
every effort to be found at peace with Him, without spot or blemish.
2 Peter 3:17:Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things,
be on your guard not to be carried away by the error of the lawless
and fall from your secure standing.
Jude 1:24:Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to
present you unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy
Romans 11:29:For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable.
2nd Peter 1:10-11

Check out some pictures of the Old and New Vincent Enyeama and hubby

<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJ7l6LYPHmfgMrrNSWYPZdV7HAF0cR3tL8Vq5HeG_QMGdF5oN7tkMUREnU9grkfz4UJaYK51vJFy8IYQK3CEwlCNomt4s0Hu8t5DEgHDX3x4oPhtyEEcZfPWyUEaNbrbrTHH4UtYyaKK7U/s320/13445655_601575686677904_3192866470094120490_n-745267.jpg" Its okay to start in a
line of your hobby. He said "You may also start out in a line of your
hobby. If you work in a bank, you may not start by owning a bank, but
along the line, you may have discovered some other interests. We have
seen many trained architects who turned to be successful preachers;
many trained engineers are making it big in the entertainment
industry. You too can turn your hobby into a channel of breakthrough."

You can start from providing five-star services. There are people
willing to pay for it. He explained "Looking at existing services
every day, there are things you need that are not available. You can
just locate those things to start with. In Nigeria, if you are willing
to provide better services, it is likely you will find some business
to do. If you are talking about quality service, this country has
fantastic opportunities. Until the new generation came into the scene
in Nigeria, the old generation banks were holding us to ransom. The
innovations brought in by the new generation banks have made banking
transactions easy. This is called MARKET GAP. You need that to start
business successfully. Whatever the quality of service you are willing
to provide, somebody is willing to pay for it. Even when it cost you
more."

You should be willing to take risks if you want to succeed in life.
Rev Sam said a young lady walked up to him and asked if it makes sense
to leave a paid job to set up a business. Her concern was getting the
business off the ground and she wants to know if it will not be too
late to go back to paid employment if the business did not work. Rev
Sam added "Let me however say this: why many people are not able to
achieve extraordinary success in life is that they are not willing to
take the necessary risks to achieve God's plans for their lives."

You are created for a reason. "You are created to fulfill a particular
need for your generation. All you need to do is to step forward and
meet those needs. You have so much to offer the world. The only way
our economy can move forward is through the contribution of
individuals who are able to creatively put their skills and talents
into good use; individuals who are not afraid to start small and let
God bless their efforts afterwards."

To be continued..

Don't just perceive that idea,Write a Business plan Today!!!

A Business plan is a document that throughly explain a business idea
and how it will be carried out.
A business plan should define the intending business enterprise,
describe all costs and marketing plan, how the business will be
financed and managed and show the expected earnings to be accrued.
A business plan is important as it represents the your thoughts before
business startup and will serve as a guide as the business grows.
A business plan can also help you raise money from potential investors
as it shows That you have critically thought and planned what you
intend to do in Business.
I have written an outline of a typical business plan
http://www57.zippyshare.com/v/c3wFJJ87/file.html You could not believe it, you said "He is
so young. He is just 16 and in SS1". Now, you have seen him –
marijuana parting his lips, a tattooed snake on his arm and in his
hand is a bottle of beer. You heard him say that his favorite date is
the 7th of July, and you assumed that was his birthday. You stood afar
and criticized him, you told your friends that hell awaits him, you
shook your head and said to yourself, "He is already doomed". But you
do not know that within the "bad, hard guy" lies a fragile, aching
heart wanting to be loved and showed a little care. Now, he only finds
solace in his gang because his dad and mom are on the brink of
divorce.
She knocked on your door asking to help you do anything for food or
money. She looked so unkempt and malnourished. You were torn between
pity and disbelief. You know her uncle to be a rich and religious man,
an elder in his
church, and you can help but wonder why she would be in this sorry
state. You concluded that she has been wayward and disrespectful and
this is his way of punishing her for some time.
Without asking her any questions, you managed to give her a crumpled
₦100 note, sent her away and told her not to come back. She leaves,
fighting tears, wondering how she would go back to her uncle who had
sworn not to take care of her except she warms his bed. That man you
saw yesterday has been going through a hard time. He is a job-hunting
father who just lost his only son and has been pondering on how to
bury his dead. He bumped into you and before he could apologize, you
have
rained insults on him. You saw the tears well up in his eyes but you
did not bother to show any empathy. To you, he is just a depressed
fellow who should not bother others with his woes. You saw her in a
bar, wreaking of alcohol. She kept laughing and muttering to himself
"Why? Why?" You walked past her, even though a voice inside of you
kept telling you to find out her problem. You shut the voice down and
tagged her "A cheap drunk. A woman for that matter". But that cheap
drunk is a widow who had just been diagnosed with breast cancer,
moreover, she just lost her job a month ago. Now, she thinks those
bottles of alcohol could wash away her sorrow.*** And you claim to
have the light, you boast in the scriptures because you know only the
letters (but you are devoid of revelation). You failed to bring the
"bad, hard guy" close and show him the truth and now he has fulfilled
the request of his gang by raping his younger sister leaving his whole
family distraught and confused. Also, your ₦100 could not help that
young girl for
she finally yielded to the advances of her "rich and religious" uncle.
Now, she has been deflowered, all hormones have been let loose. She
have been selling her wares to all and sundry and she got pregnant. At
present, her cold body is lying in a mortuary because of a failed D&C
just because you refused to bring her close and show her the ideals of
life. And you claim you have the
light. The depressed man you insulted was seen hanging from a mango
tree recently. His suicide note read "I am too weak to carry on". You
could not show him any form sympathy, perhaps, he
might have shared his burden with you. Then you would have let him
know that in his weakness, God's strength is manifested. And you claim
you
have the light. That "cheap drunk" is now on the hospital bed staring
into the space in despair, waiting for death to rap on the door. All
she needs is a message of hope, a message that would give her life –
the God kind of life.
You have that message. You are an exquisite perfume, do not bottle up
your fragrance, go and spread it where it is needed. You are the
light, do not hide your shine... Copied
Have a Nice day ahead

Newspaper Headlines today

(✓) Lacasera sacks 700 workers.

(✓) Student union leaders budget #1.8m for phone calls.

(✓) EFCC reopens probe in to immigration job scandal.

(✓) Police beat up our members, stopped us from celebrating
anniversary - MASSOB.

(✓) Under Buhari, APC Nigeria evidently heading to economic doldrums - PDP.

(✓) Treasury single account: MDAs rush to beat today's deadline.

(✓) Perm Secs seeks support for NYSC foundation.

(✓) Rotary club, commences #550m hospital building...urges Nigerians
to donate their eyes.

(✓) APC raises campaign council for Kogi November 21 governorship poll.

(✓) Adeleke varsity raises hope on cure for liver disease.

♡#Did you know: Coca-cola would be green if the food colorant wasn't added♡.

☞ Sources: The Punch,Vanguard,The guardian,Hallmarknews.

╬
Words on Marble: If you don't willfully climb out of a pit, you may be
stuck in there forever.

Hard Work Pays (1)

Babe Ruth said it's hard to beat a person who never gives up. Alafia
Gbadebo, a young entrepreneur who started making millions at age 21,
the founder of Strands Event Company, shares how it all
started.(Culled from Daily Independent Newspaper)
"I started off with a trade fair when I was still a student at UNILAG.
That was seven years ago. I realised that immediately schools resume,
students go to different places to get their school needs. If you want
clothes, you go to Yaba; if you want a laptop, you go to the Computer
Village in Ikeja; if you want electronics for your room, you go to
Alaba market, in Lagos. I thought instead of students going all around
Lagos buying things, why couldn't the companies bring their products
to the school and be in one place within the school. Also, I know that
students do not have high purchasing power; so, when I was to start,
the aim was that exhibitors should sell their wares and services to
students at low prices or at discounted rates. That way, students can
buy their needs in one place and at cheaper prices. Also, I knew that
there are many companies that have promos that are targeted at the
youth. The best place to get their target market is the school. So,
the fair was borne out of necessity. It is an avenue for both buyers
and sellers to meet. That was how we started the first students' trade
fair in 2006."
He said being independent motivated him. He continued, "What has
always motivated me is that fact that I want to be independent. When I
was in Year One, I started by selling recharge cards. It was a new
business then, and I carved a niche for myself.
I would tell people that they don't need to come to me to buy credit;
they should just send me a text and I would send them the credit and
get my money later. That was how I sold cards to a lot of students in
UNILAG. I have always been an enterprising person. I had always known
that I would not work for anyone. So, when I was planning to start the
fair, I did not have money, but I started by making friends. I knew I
would need to go out a lot to get exhibitors. So, I made friends with
people that had cars, and students that are from wealthy background
that I could get money from.
I knew I would need people who are purpose-driven like me; so, I made
friends with people like myself. I had all these partners who helped
make the first fair a success.
Though, we did not make money at first, we knew we had a sellingbrand."
To be continued......

Typical business plan

From A One-room Company To A Mega Company (1)

Here is a story of a woman, Ononye Chioma, MD of Ranks West Africa
Limited (a food processing Company) and how she built Ranks West
Africa Limited from scratch to a highly competitive brand.
Ononye Chioma, a graduate of Applied micro-biology shares her
challenges, how she started, and her dreams in a story I got from The
Sun Newspaper, Titled "I started my business from one room -
Chioma,Ranks W/Africa", published on September 12,2015 and I want to
share it with you. Today, the company can boast of over seven products
and large staff strength but it all started in a one room apartment,10
years ago.
When asked about how she started her company. She said "I started
searching for jobs like most graduate in Nigeria, after I graduated in
2002 and completed my youth service in Kogi State. I applied to
several places but nothing was forthcoming. Later, I was employed in a
food processing company as the quality control manager, or so I
thought. Unknown to me that the company in question needed me to be
part of their organisation because of my qualification to enable them
to obtain their National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and
Control (NAFDAC) registration number. After which, they started acting
funny, I had no choice but to move on. I continued my search in the
labour market till God inspired me to go into food production and
processing business which I started from one of my rooms. Officially,
we took off in 2004. We started with the production and processing of
whole wheat flour and rice flour. By the end of 2005, we moved the
company to a bigger apartment and then invited NAFDAC for inspection
and registration. After NAFDAC registration, we started producing more
products like the unripe plantain flour which was also registered."
She talked about their products and how the products are doing in the
market and also mentioned the products they have added. She continued
"Presently, we have added six products since we started and these
products are borne out of quality research. Most of our products are
borne out of the desire to meet specific needs, which was why we began
to research on grains to meet particular health needs. Some of these
products are beans flour, plantain flour, soya meal, ofada rice,
breadfruit and local wheat. The local wheat is no longer in the market
because the price used in manufacturing it is very high compared to
the imported one, so its production and processing could not strive
competitively in the market. Most of our products are tailored to meet
the needs of different people in the society, for instance our bean
flour is convenient for women, especially working class women. In a
moment, you can prepare beans cake or moi-moi. It also serves as a
soup thickener; as they don't have to go through the process of
washing and removing the peels and we are NAFDAC certified."
Your dreams are achievable, launch out today. God bless you.
To be continued....

Sources Of Business Capital (4)

This is the concluding part of Sources of business capital. In an
article written by Ola Emmanuel,he explained 14 feasible sources of
capital for your business and we've touched eleven out of it. The
remaining three are below.
There are small finance firms that assist micro businesses with funds.
They are known as Cottage fund providers. In he's word " They are
small finance firms that provide funds for micro businesses. You may
not be able to access more than N500,000 from such firms."
In Bank equity participation, the bank provide equity fund for a
medium scale business as a part owner. Ola said " Here, a bank can
provide equity fund for a medium scale business as a part owner. The
bank may choose to partake in the running of the business, and may
hands off immediately the business pays back the fund."
You can also ask your bank for credit for a specified period, its
called Term loan. Ola Emmanuel explained "This is different from bank
overdraft. In term loan, you ask your bank or a finance house to give
you credit for a specific period, say medium to long term. You may
have to provide collateral security, and the interest you will pay
depends on the amount and the status of your business."
Quick Reply
To: May Akinz <samuelakinkunmi2014@gmail.com>

Why You Should Be A Business Person (1)

If you are the type that like freedom,if you want to be your own boss
or calling the shots. If you want to set your life or if you enjoy
working at your schedule. I think this article is for you.
I came across this piece and I want to share it with you. The title is
"IT PAYS TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR" by Rev. Sam Adeyemi
He said "Over the past seven years of counselling young people on
business related issues, one question has kept recurring: is it better
to own business or to work for other people? There are no easy answers
because circumstances are usually not the same; but few satisfactions
should throw some light.
In the United States of America entrepreneurs represent 99.7% of all
employers. I believe very sincerely that Nigerian has come to a point
where there should be no job seekers and unemployed people. There
should always be people who will provide the jobs. We are redefining
what being a role model in Daystar, by being entrepreneurs. Being an
entrepreneur is being a pioneer, creative, innovative, someone who
provides new services and products.
Entrepreneurs create jobs for other people, and bring down
unemployment rate. In the United States for instance, it is not the
government that creates jobs but the people."
Rev Sam gave some interesting stats in the US "Entrepreneurs there
employ about 53% of the private workforce, 47% of all sales; provide
55% of innovation, and represents 96% of all exporters."
But in Nigeria its a different story because we import more than
export "Nigeria is in debt because it imports more than it exports. In
a few years time, it should be exporting more than it's importing,
which will depend on the entrepreneurs."
He talked on finding a business to start with. He said "
Focus on solving a problem or meeting a need, and you can easily
identify the problems or needs in the society by checking out your own
needs. What are the things you need that are not available? In a
sense, your needs are everybody's needs. Most of the things you need,
most other people also need.
For example, if you need a toothbrush for your teeth in the morning,
there are many other people who need to brush their teeth too. If you
need soap, every other person also needs soap. If you are a student
and you need notebooks, other students need notebooks. What many
people consider to be insurmountable problems are usually gems of
opportunities waiting to be packaged into ideas that would bless
people.
Napoleon Hill, one of my favorite authors, once said that in every
problem, there is always an equivalent seed of benefits; we only need
to look closely to find the seed.
In a sense, your needs reflect every other's needs. My advice is that
you simply focus on solving problems; you will be amazed at how many
business your ideas can generate."
Rev. Sam said our interest matters. He said something about starting
in your current line of interest. In his word "
It is very likely you will start your business in your current line
of interest. One of the places where people are defeated is often in
starting where they know nothing about, and this defeats one's
confidence. It is usually difficult to make a mark outside your area
of assignments. It, therefore, makes sense to start from your area of
competence and interest. If you are a journalist, look closely around
you, you will discover problems you can package into business ideas;
if you are sportsman, there are many problems awaiting your
intervention. There is no career that is inferior. If you try to add
value to the services you render to people, they will always put you
on their priority list. This is guaranteed."
To be Continued....

Requirements For Registration/Mobilization Of Prospective NYSC Batch B Corp members

This is to inform all prospective corps members, i.e. Nigerians who have graduated from Universities and Mono/
Polytechnics both at home and abroad that the NYSC On-line registration portal will be opened from Tuesday 8th
September to Friday 9th October, 2015 to enable them register for the 2015 Batch 'B' mobilization.
In order to ensure a seamless registration, prospective corps members are to note the following for strict compliance:
1. But admitting to the competition, you may ask, how
does one survive?

Well, whether or not there is competition, one thing is sure: YOUR
STRENGTH IS IN YOUR UNIQUENESS. Your uniqueness is what makes you who
you are, what makes you stand out, and what will make people chose
you, among all else. Your uniqueness is your identity; losing it is
losing your existence. Thou shalt not lose it.
Today's challenge: be bold, be yourself, and champion that thing about
you that makes you different from the others. That is what the world
will come after.

#IbifilaInspires

Top News Headlines

(✓) DSS screens Buhari's ministerial nominees.

(✓) Power outage stops Senate power probe.

(✓) Protest rocks UNILAG over first-class student's electrocution.

(✓) Army frees 128 Boko Haram suspects.

(✓) Harassment of PDP leaders is Buhari's achievement - Fayose.

(✓) Chibok girls dispersed, some married off and appointing ministers
tough, says Buhari

(✓) Shake up in Nigeria Navy: New Focs, Psos appointed; 61 others redeployed.

(✓) DHQ: Nigerian Troops Have Destroyed All Boko Haram Camps.

(✓) Abuja, Lagos, other to Experience Lunar Eclipse on September 28.

(✓) Aregbesola promises to pay workers before Sallah.

☞ Sources: The Punch, Vanguard Newspaper, Thisday live,The Cable.

~Words on Marble: 'Don't sing 'Standing on the Promises' if all you
are doing is sitting on the premises -- Sam Adeyemi.

★★ ★★ [Primo_Ent.]★★ ★★
