Finally the much awaited Pankaj Kapoor's debut movie Mausam released in the theaters and due to the hype that it had already created it did get the good opening too. When the reputed actor of class like Pankaj Kapoor's turns to direction, the expectation are much higher and the movie fails to meet those expectation. Although Pankaj Kapoor gave all his mind and heart to each and every scene of the movie but the final impact of the movie is not so good!
The movie is a story of a Punjabi boy Harry (Shahid Kapoor) and a Kashmiri muslim girl Ayat (Sonam Kapoor). The movie starts with some fresh and cutesie scenes but after the love story of the two starts, the movie is about how and when they meet and then separates again due to the lack of communication, Hindu-Muslim riots etc. It is hard to believe how could a single family get affected by all Ayodhya dispute, 93' Mumbai blasts, Kargil war, 9/11 case and finally Gujarat's post Godhra riots. The movie tries to touch every recent major incident that affected the people and in trying to do so, the script has been stretched so much that audience even starts thinking why the hell it is not completing. Finally the two lovers meet in a dramatic and heroic climax in the background of Gujarat's riots.
The music of the movie is good and it is the relief for the audience. I would say the movie was good in parts and it could certainly have had better impact if its length could be shorten. The today's audience is too restless to watch a movie of almost 3 hours duration.
Shahid Kapoor has done justice to his role and Sonam Kapoor has also just done it ok if not good. But the lack of chemistry between the two was the weak point of the movie in particular if it is such a timeless love story. Other actors have done enough justice with their roles. The movie is full of beautifully pictured scenes and I think Pankaj Kapoor must be applauded for his first effort and choosing such a movie for his first effort. The movie is not great but he showed he has the potential to do great work in future.
I am going with 2 stars out of 5 stars.
I didn't watch any movie this weekend so I am not gonna write about any movie in this post althought I hope that you'd have liked my reviews of the recent bollywood movies Bodyguard and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. In this post is only about me and what I am thinking right now about my future. I am in final year of my engineering and I am to go through interviews, HRs, technical tests and other recruitment procedures this year. Sometime I feel like I should have started preparing for all these long before so that I should be well prepared at this time but...
Never mind I'm trying to be optimistic and have faith in me that I won't let it be too late.

This year is really going to be the most important year in my life not only I am supposed to find the ways to earn my livelihood in this year but it would let me know more about my abilities, my weaknesses, my aptitude and in nutshell the whole "me". Though I'm a very optimistic person yet I know that I have a little chance of clearing the interviews and the technical tests but I am dying to face them anyway. This year is gonna be the test of my abilities, my strengths and my attitude. But I have nothing to loose from this procedure and all I would be gaining is the experience and the will to improve myself initiating the never-ending process of improving myself.
Wish me good luck ahead this year. Thanks for reading... :)

The audience didn't get it wrong either and the movie presents the same as expected. For me Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a huge disappointment. There is nothing to go for in the movie and despite trying too hard to generate at least some kind of entertainment the movie fails badly, in particular in the second half. The movie is about Kush (Imran Khan), Luv (Ali Zafar) and Dimple (Katrina Kaif).

Luv assigns his younger brother Kush the job of finding a suitable bride for himself when he breaks-up with his girlfriend. Eventually after a sequence of comic incidents, Kush meets and finalize Dimple for his brother. But as expected Kush gradually starts feeling for Dimple and same happens with Dimple but by the time they tell each other about their feelings, Dimple and Luv had engaged. The tiring and predictable second half is basically a string of elaborate set-ups to call off the marriage. Rest of the movie deals with the predictable sequences of how they sought out the matter and finally Kush weds Dimple.

Directed by first-timer Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' starts off breezily, with enough comic moments to keep you engaged. There's an amusing scene in which Dimple subjects Luv to a Koffee With Karan-style rapidfire interview on Skype, and another sequence in which she distracts Kush while riding pillion on his scooter. But it's when the film introduces its conflict at intermission point that everything begins to go downhill. 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' is redeemed to a large extent by the charismatic presence of Katrina Kaif, who is easily the star of this show. Offering an uninhibited and winning performance as the mad but endearing Dimple, she makes you forget many of the film's flaws. Imran Khan brings that boyish charm to his part, playing your next-door nice-guy with unmistakable sincerity; he makes Kush a hero to root for. Now if only they could muster up some sizzling chemistry! Ali Zafar, on the other hand, hams it up like there's no tomorrow, and fails on account of trying too hard.

My Rating : **

Bodyguard Movie Review

As I already had mentioned in my previous post that I'll be preferring "That Girl in Yellow Boots" over "Bodyguard" but really its not easy to go for your choice if its against of your friend's. Eventually I had to go for "Bodyguard" in spite of having no interest in the movie.
Bodyguard in its first half seems no better than Salman's last few hits. The typical Salman Khan masala movie with blend of action, emotion, comedy, songs and romance. But the movie leaves its impression in the last 20 minutes. Bodyguard is a typical bollywood movie that promises to present all aspects in a movie such as larger than life action, comedy, item songs and the hero romancing with the beautiful heroin. Bodyguard may disappoint many people but Salman Khan fans will love it especially its interesting turns and twists in the second part.
This is a story of Lovely Singh (Salman Khan) who owes a debt to wealthy feudal lord Sartaj Singh (Raj Babbar) that he can not repay. Sartaj Singh's only daughter Divya (Kareena Kapoor) life is in danger as his father has many enemies but he was sure that his daughter is as safe as swiss bank with Lovely Singh.
The honest, handsome and loyal bodyguard becomes too annoying for Divya in the college so she makes a prank of him by impersonating herself as "Chhaya" on the phone. The story moves forward with some sweet and some comical sequences but the twist appears in the movie when Divya falls in love with her bodyguard Lovely Singh but she also knew that her father will not accept this relationship and even Lovely Singh might not accept it too.
The movie contains the well-expected fight sequences which hardly seems relevant according to the story line of the movie. The director of the movie seems to be in dilemma of what he wanted to present the Salman Khan as- an action hero or the romantic hero. In spite of all the flaws that the movies is full of, the second part of the movie makes you feel little attached with the characters and the twists in the story are appreciable.
Music is average. Teri Meri Prem Kahani is the only song that leaves some impact.
I would rate it 3-stars out of 5-stars for its second part only. The movie is not a must watch but you can give it a try if eithr you are a Salman Khan fan or you enjoy typical bollywood desi masala flicks.
But I'm still looking forward to "That Girls in Yellow Boots" as it has got great reviews from all critics.
My Rating: ***

Trailer of Anurag Kashyap's Next "That Girl in Yellow Boots" that is now releasing on September 2, 2011. I have been waiting for the movie for the last one year and happy that finally it will be releasing in India. I am a huge fan of Anurag Kashyap - the writer of the movies like Water and Black Friday and the Director of movies like Black Friday, Dev D.

I am also looking for his wife Kalki Koechlin in this movie who is playing the lead role in the movie. I'll be preferring this movie over Salman Khan's "Bodyguard" as that would be another bollywood masala movie.

But waiting for "That Girl in Yellow Boots" as Anurag Kashyap brings something new and very creative everytime.

Also most of the free mp3 songs sites are full of annoying pop-ups and floating ads that just makes the browsing and downloading experience worse.
So I want to recommend a Free Mp3 Download site that is free of viruses, malwares and annoying pop-ups and ads and this site is also verified and certified by McAfee Site Advisor. His efforts to empower grampanchayats, protect efficient government officers from frequent transfers and fight against the red tapism in government offices have also received accolades.

Anna Hazare is one of India's well-acclaimed social activists. A former soldier in the Indian army, Anna is well known and respected for upgrading the ecology and economy of the village of Ralegan Siddhi which is located in the drought prone Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state. The erstwhile barren village has metamorphosed into a unique model of rural development due to its effective water conservation methods, which made the villagers self-sufficient. Earlier, the same village witnessed alcoholism, utter poverty and migration to urban slums. Inspired by Hazare’s unique approach of salvaging a hopeless village, the state government has implemented the `Model Village’ scheme as part of its official strategy. Hazare is now synonymous with rural development in India.

Read Anna Hazare’s Biography

Watershed Development - Watershed development is one of the key tools contributing towards the overall objective of reducing poverty through sustainable development.

Anti-Corruption Development - The common man is put to lot of hardships and it has become difficult to make both ends meet as prices of essential commodities are rising constantly due to corruption. Hazare believes that our freedom is at the teeth of danger due to corruption and unless it is eliminated, the country will not be free in its true sense. Therefore, a peaceful war has been waged against corruption with the help of immense support from people.

The citizens can obtain the above from all government departments to ensure transparency. All they need to do is to invoke the Right To Information (RTI) Act. The state of Maharashtra leads in RTI activism and use, thanks to Anna Hazare’s inspiring leadership.

Are you successful? What does that word mean to you? Unlimited wealth, "toys" as far as the eye can see, or family gatherings at your cottage on the lake?

Success is a state of mind, and I would like to help you Succeed! Below are some dynamic belief steps to follow.

S – Start believing in yourself and what you do!

Starting=beginning. If you wouldn't have taken the risk and got on your bicycle for the first time, would you have the confidence that you do now as you mount your bike for a ride through town? This belief comes from within and turns your dreams and vision into reality!

U – Understand another's point of view.

You don't know it all, so don't appear to. Put yourself in their shoes and listen. Have empathy.
What does the other person want? What are they feeling? Block out your own feelings and the voice that has a response to their statements and truly "BE" with the one you are talking with. Don't interrupt! Have you ever thought up the perfect response, so witty and smart, that it burst out of your mouth, only to stop the sentence coming out of the other person's mouth. You missed them and possibly the sale or relationship.
Have you ever truly been understood? It is the best feeling in the world. When you put yourself aside to put the other person first, that is true sacrifice and success.
C – Confidence isn't a feeling, it is an action. You need to have it, even when you just don't feel like you can!

C – Collaborate , share your successes, be vulnerable and share your mistakes. Be real! You will become a people magnet. Surround yourself with people you admire. Look for like minded people, people who have what you want, who believe as you believe! Find out how they got to where they are and then do the same. Billionare Ross Perot paid millions to attract the brightest to his company. Be people smart.

E – Exercise your brain and body.

Read, read, read! Readers are leaders. Have you thought about that, it is true. The more you know, the more confident you feel and the more comfortable you feel collaborating with those who have what you want. Sound familiar?
Run, run, run! Keep your body in shape. Make a list of the people you admire, who have what you want? What do they look like? Do they exercise or take care of their outer body as well as their mind and soul?

E- Encourage others! Your friends, family, business partners all deserve to hear praise. Dig deep to find something they are good at or have done well, then say it, write it, sing a song to it, whatever, just acknowledge it to that other person!

D- Determine to be better than who you are and you'll be surprised at who you'll become! Use the bulldog determination like the tortoise and the Hare. Even the snail made it to the ark. Determine not to quit, creatively begin again and again, and again!
How hard are you going to work? How bad do you want it! It isn't that hard, just…

Start believing in yourself.
Understand another's point of view.
Confidence – do it and then feel it!
Collaborate with those who have what you want.
Exercise your mind, body and soul.
Encourage others.

Determine to be better than who you are and you'll be surprised at who you'll become –

Then SUCCEED!

"They need to look interested and show some desire. If you don't want to be here, go home," Tim Bresnan remarked.

A lot was expected from the team India before this test match as the # 1 spot was on stake on the match. But nothing different than the last two test matches has happened in this test match too so far. England have dominated the all three days of play in bowling and then batting as well scoring more than 700. India have lost its first wicket again without scoring as Virender Sehwag again went on zero. No doubt India have been performing poorly in the series so far and England have outplayed them in every field but the question arises here is that does this give anybody the authority to speak and write cheap things about them.
The reason why this has been said is because of the British media writing cheap and irresponsible things about the Indian team and even compared them with the sheepdogs. As if that wasn’t enough for them, the reputed news paper wrote that Indian team is even worse than the dogs and sheepish India have gone to the dogs with torrid field day. \
England former cricketer and captain Michael Vaughan also peeped into the matter and gave his opinion on the performance of Indian Cricket team saying that India have failed to resist against the English Cricketers. Former West Indian cricket Michael Holding also said that even England team would have not enjoyed this series and wouldn’t have thought that the road to being number 1 would be so easy. Many former English cricketers commented that India did not deserve to be the at the top and only look good on paper. Former England captain Nasser Hussain said that tourist India are little better than a county attack.
And one more controversial comment from the current player Ravi Bopara as he said that people should stop worshipping Sachin Tendulkar now. Another objectionable comment was on the Rahul Dravid that says, “Now we know why Rahul Dravid is called The Wall. It’s because balls bounce off him”. Well after having said that he just got out for some score of fewer than ten only. And after targeting VVS Laxman, the British media targeted Virender Sehwag for the serious allegation of ball tampering. If Sehwag really did that then how come 35 cameras on the stadium and the umpires, match referee couldn’t catch that act.

Really after having watched all this on TV and internet, this irresponsible behaviour of the British media and former cricketers is really disappointing and unexpected. England has always been the best place to play cricket and the behaviour of the local audience has been the inspiration for the other countries as well. The audience of England is said to be the audience that really understands the game of cricket and respect all cricketers. But recent incidents will certainly affect the reputation of England among all cricketing nations, India in particular.

Indian team needs to perform better and answer all these arrogance with the way they have been doing so far that is just concentrating on playing good cricket. That’s what you expect in the game what is called as a gentlemen’s game.

Everyone would agree that England are playing their best cricket ever, but they should know one basic etiquette to be humble when on rise. England must not forget that its not so long that England lost to Australia 5-0 and England has not won a test series with India since 1996. So British media should behave more responsibly and avoid such childish things of arrogance.

The much awaited series between India and England is currently in progress. The series between the top and the third rank team in test matches was always going to be full of excitement and a show of great cricket all-round.

But unfortunately for India, all the good cricket show came from England’s camp and they have eclipsed India in all aspects of the game. After the defeat that India got in the first test match at Lord’s, everybody was accepting the world’s no.1 team to come back solid in the second test and they did prove that they are really different team than they were in Lord’s but only for the first two sessions of the first day. After sending back 8 England batsmen for just 124 India was on top of the things but again they could not hold it tight for much longer and allowed them to go beyond 200 mark. Yet the score was not big and India just had to bat according to their strength but all they managed to get was 288 and that too thanks to Rahul Dravid’s brilliant century. And that was just the beginning, the real show was the second innings of England. Almost everyone came in and hit boundaries all over the ground and put a mountain like 500+ score. And India was in no situation of even thinking of getting close to the 478 run target and they could not even resist for much longer and India has to face the one of the biggest defeat
against England.

Now if we review the first two test matches of this series, India just seems nowhere close to the England in any of the three aspects of the game. Even before the start of the series, England team was believed to be the better bowling and fielding team than India in their home conditions. But batting has always been the strength of India but so far in this series Indian batsmen has just delivered the flop shows. Another important factor is the depth in the England batting order with Bresnan and Broad batting at number 8 and 9 and Greame Swann can bat a bit too. On the other hand Indian tail doesn’t have such strong batting techniques like Bresnan and Broad. Forget about the lower order, Indian top order and middle order has also been failing for the last two matches. Captain cool Dhoni is also looking off-colour as he is struggling with everything –his batting, wicket-keeping and with captaincy decisions too.

Now good news for Indian fans is that Virender Sehwag is expected to arrive and play in the third test match. The presence of Virender Sehwag will certainly change the mood of the dressing room and boost the team players. Gautam Gambhir is also fit to play , so India can now forget the worries of opening the batting. But they still have the issues in the middle order with the likes of Sachin, Raina, Yuvraj and Dhoni not in the best of their form. Team India might play Zaheer as well if he passes the fitness test and Amit Mishra can be given a chance over the out-of-form Harbhajan Singh.

India must have to win in the third test match if it wants to save its No.1 position in the ICC Test Rankings. It’s a huge challenge before the Dhoni and his team but India has done it before on many occasions and we should support India.

Aarakshan(Reservation): The Big Issue

A career in the population of more than 1 billion. Reserve your love, reserve your future….

The above are the tag lines of the Prakash Jha’s upcoming and most awaited movie “Aarakshan”.

The controversial issue Aarakshan that is Reservation is again in lime light these days with the upcoming Prakash Jha’s movie based on the reservation in higher studies in India.

Some years ago, this fuss was created by the government of India on the proposal of HRD minister of that time Honourable Arjun Singh. He tried to justify this scheme of reservation of additional 27% to OBC(Other backward Classes) in higher studies institutions in India. Before that there was 7.5% reservation for ST(Scheduled Tribe) and 15% reservation for SC(Scheduled Cast) in India. But with the introduction of additional 27% reservation for OBSs the mark reached up to 49.5% reservation i.e. almost half of the total available seats. This proposal was entirely rejected by the common youth as this would mean the compromise over merit. If you are reserving 495 seats out of 1000 seats in an institution that is supposed to be the constructor of modern and better India, this meant that you are giving only half a chance to the real deserving candidates.

Now let me be more clear in what I want to convey to you. Consider the example of medical institutes, we all know how critical it is to give someone the authority to be called as the “doctor”, someone to whom people go to find the cure for their diseases. A doctor is sometimes compared to even God! Now with this scheme of 49.5% reservation, the talented candidates who prepared for the entrance exams day and night to be in there, are deprived of getting in there and instead , the less capable, less deserving and less prepared candidates are being given a “walk over” to these deserving candidates!

The same scenario applies to the fields of higher studies like engineering and architectures.

What is and What should be the role of government?

The reason the government always gives behind forcefully implementing this reservation scheme is the development of the people from these backward classes. But depriving the deserving people for the development of other’s development is not justified. Instead if the government really has the intention of working for the development of people from these financially and socially communities, it should first analyze that how much the reservation policy has helped them since India got freedom as the reservation policy was first introduced in 1950 due to the poor conditions of these communities at that time.

What government should do is that it can provide them better quality education by improving the quality of the government schools and institutes. It should work on completely eliminating the child labour. It should provide free (or low cost) coaching to them so that they would become eligible to qualify for these higher studies institutes. Government should focus on increasing their capabilities rather offering them the free goodies like reservation lollipop.

That is the way I think on this issue and I stand completely against it as the reason behind it is completely political. Just wishing that Indian Government come up with better idea than reservation to work for the development of the people from the socially and economically backward classes so that people from every class and community can put in their contribution in the construction of the modern and developed India.

Today was a busy day and I had to do lot of physical work. Well I had been downloading the movie “Stanley ka Dabba” for last few days and today it had finished downloading.

Now let me come to the point for which I am writing this post. I want to recommend a movie called “Stanley Ka Dabba” to all. The reason why I am recommending this movie will be clear to you when you will watch the movie yourself. It is one of the very few movies that actually brought tears in my eyes.

I don’t want to reveal the story of the movie here because you might not enjoy the movie if you would already know the story. But personally I found it better than the movie “Taare Zameen Par”. Well it might be matter of choice but one thing I can promise is that if you will watch the movie till the end(as some people might find it boring and wouldn’t watch the complete movie) you will definitely love it.

The movie leaves a great impact on the audience in spite of not starring any big stars. The movie is really made by big heart and you need big heart to watch the movie and feel it.

Well if anyone watches this movie, I would want to receive some comments from you on how do you like the movie.

I would also want you to check the official site of this movie:

www.stanleykadabba.com

Stanley Ka Dabba- Really a small movie with a big heart!

Music: Ram Sampath

The first thing that I should write to explain the movie Delhi Belly is : CRAZY!

Yesterday I watched the Movie “Delhi Belly”. Before I entered the theatre the expectations from the movie were obviously higher due to the big scale promotion of the movie and Amir Khan being the producer of the movie. The movie is rated as “A” certification from the censor board and it quite deserved it too!

Right from the first scene of the movie, you will start having smiles and laughs on your face. Right from the first dialog and till the end the movie contained the endless use of abusive language. Hardly any dialog did not contain the abusive words. The treatment of the story by the director Abhinay Deo is great and makes the audience interested till the end.

Now that has been enough on how the movie was made, lets move on to how movie is!

The movie is a story of three friends,Taashi, Nitin and Arun, one is a journalist, another is his photographer and third one is a cartoonist. Imran Khan is playing the role of Taashi, the journalist. The movie is a hustle and bustle that happens in their life and how they get into the trouble situations and then the tagline of the movie “Shit happens” complements their situation.

The performance of all the actors is great and inspite of all the disgusting scenes and excessive use of abusive language, the movie keeps you engaged and interested due to the frequent situational comedy scenes. The movie is a 90 minute continuous flick and features no interval.

The movie has many promotional songs but they are not included in the movie and only two songs that too in the background are included in the movie. Ram Sampath, the music director of the movie has done a descent job. Delhi Belly will not let you feel bore at any moment that I can promise. You will keep waiting for what’s going to happen next.

I am going with 3.5/5 rating and I recommend this movie to all the youngsters! But don’t dare to watch it with your family!

My Rating: ***

Comments are welcome!

I hope you all must be having great fun in your life. Fun has widely different meanings for different kinds of people. What's your idea of fun? By asking this question I want to know what it meant to you, does it mean cracking jokes around all day while being with your friends, does it mean going out for movies, dinner & trips, does it mean having good time with your boy/girl friend, or it is spending good quality time with your family and relatives or does it mean doing passionately what you really want to do or fun is living your fantasies?
The list of options is almost endless and that's what makes this question a significant one, doesn't it? What I want to draw your attention to is I agree that it is your universal right to choose what they call fun but this can many a times make a significant impact on the people around you. For instance when you make fun of any one in front of a crowd of your friends, that thing may be fun for you guys but what about that person who is being made fun of! Do you ever think about that? I just wanted to know what makes you feel that you are having fun? For many of you driving fast may be great fun thing, but do you consider the consequences to it that might make drastic changes to not you only but many innocent lives as well.
For me, fun is anything that keeps you in great mood, refreshes yourself, makes the people around you cheerful as well and hence make the whole surrounding a real fun to be in. For me fun is one of so many ways to keep everyone entertained and have a good time. This is what my view is about fun but fun is in fact relative. Relative means that for some people that thing is fun while for some other person it might not seem fun at all.
Everyone has his or her own idea of what fun is. So share you what's idea of fun and how it might have affected the other people positively or negatively?

It is around 6:30 am in morning the next day after my exams of the 6th semester concluded. The last paper was the best exam that it happened for me in this semester exams. Out of rest four, two were a real disaster but now I don't want to think about them and just wanna set myself free!
Now I have about two months vacations meant for Technical training and I have decided upon it too, gonna do Advanced Java (J2EE) from CMC Noida. I have many other plans on what to do in these summer vacations like planning to learn Linux OS, expertise in Java and some personal plans as well!
I have been dying to go home for this last long month and now I have the ticket to go! Planning to go home tomorrow and get me engaged in my plans as soon as possible.
Now that is it for today, not decided what to do the whole day, might plan for movie or playing cricket or something else. Now I have the time but don't know how to utilize it so just doing pass-time things on net till I go to home tomorrow.
Next post will be after I'll be home sweet home :)
