That life is buoyant and might even add some pep to your step. Time begins to pass and waiting changes. It becomes first a lesson. A lesson in patience and endurance. The life of waiting changes to something hard and in the end becomes a force that will cut to the bone. First we are patient or so we tell ourselves and we will ourselves to wait. We tell ourselves waiting is good. It will all work out in the end. We tell ourselves this and even convince ourselves of this. So waiting will become just a little bit tolerable. More tolerable. We wait. We wait. We wait some more. Then things start to happen. Things begin to come apart and then the waiting becomes a thing that can be our undoing. We fix things. We rob peter to pay paul. We make adjustments. We might even have to give up things we have cherished for so long. Things that are dear and have much meaning. It will take will and much thinking about them to let them go. But they do. We let them go. Just a few things ago. It is the sacrifice we make to waiting. We give them up and hope that we can somehow get them back. Some things we cannot get back. We hope. We wait. Then to much time has passed we begin to wonder. Wonder what has happened. Some things that are in the mix are not because of our doing. It may be due to the meanness of others. Things they did in the past increase the wait. Some of the waiting is not your fault and cannot be undone. Cruel circumstances add to the wait. Hope begins to wane. So many things are now lacking. So many things are precarious. Life on the edge. Life on the edge is not good. Waiting becomes a terrible, crushing thing. It takes my breath away. It runs away sleep. The days become filled with exhaustion and worry. Waiting weighs on my soul. Much like the albatross, it is always there. You can never really be away from it. So....no matter how I try to move things along, things move at their own pace. Trying to make things happen to stop the waiting sometimes works but not often. After a while it becomes so hard. Hard to keep smiling when all you want to do is cry. Hard to keep going to you are so tired of trying to keep the plates in the air. They are beginning to fall and break with no repair. Hard to keep waiting. Hard to keep living. Waiting. Waiting is hard. Waiting is tiring. Waiting breaks the soul. Hope flees into the darkness. It peeks out from time to time only to run and hide deeper once it see waiting controlling everything. Waiting. Waiting is death from within.

New Egg

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Have you heard about New Egg? Take a visit to newegg for deals . New Egg is a California based electronics supplier. They have lots of discounts and promo codes that will let you save on some of the most wanted electronics available. For example there are codes for use now that will allow savings on hard drives, desktops and additional memory. There are even savings to be found on Sony, Verbatim and Casio products. Be sure to check the site regularly as the codes and products are always changing based on inventory on hand.

New Egg sells everything from computers, printers and handsets to refrigerators, wireless adapters and flashcards. With so many products that they carry, it would wise to check newegg for deals often! There are even daily deals and even a sales section. Right now you will find coupons deals for free shipping on selected name brand products. There is free shipping on a 46 inch, high definition Sony television.

An item on sale with a coupons for even greater savings is the Hoover upright Wing Tunnel vacuum cleaner. This vacuum has a coupon for $20 off AND free shipping is included. You cannot beat that! What I mention here is just a few of the items available on line. Convenient for us people who do not live in California. The other option to take advantage of these bargains is to visit a New Egg location in person. The company has been around since 2001 and has earned a great reputation with Forbes and Computer Shopper.

All these great coupons, promo codes and sales can be found in one place compiled by the Frugal Dad. The Frugal Dad is a site that makes it easy for the average family to live within their means by offering these fantastic coupons. We do not have to look all the time, the Frugal Dad does that for us.

Electronics are the wave of the future and the technology can make these items pricey. Deals at the New Egg and certainly can make them more affordable. Take me for instance. I have yet to upgrade to the LED HDTV's. I still have the old one with the converter box for the antenna because the HDTV's have been out of my budget. Especially when they first came out. The prices were high because the technology was new. It is nice to know that when I am ready to upgrade I will be able to find great deals on name brands at New Egg! Shopping on line and having the ability to access the coupons makes shopping on line easy as pie.

We ALL Want to Work!

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Great story on NPR about the job situation: All the news is bad right now!

NPR on Jobs

Freedom?

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

With the new laws many people were recently cut off of from the extended unemployment benefits last month. I was in that group of people. Upon reflection it seems a bit freeing in away. Scary as hell, too. What to do? Church was at the center. Last year was the last year I made an attempt to buy the "Easter outfit" for me and my child. She is 18 now and we both had nice a nice suit or a dress we wore. I miss the Easter of yore. Easter was better then.

Is Justice for Trayvon Coming?

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I have not spoken about Trayvon yet because the whole world seems to be. Now I finally decided to put in my two cents. After looking and reading all that has been out so far, it seems that this is a travesty. A young teen was killed just because he "looked" like he did not belong in the gated community in which he in fact lived! Why? A Hispanic self appointed rentacop was trigger happy. He chased this young man when he was told not to and to stay in his car. The self defense story he is claiming is clearly full of holes. The voice analysis has been done and it was Trayvon yelling for help and not Zimmerman. He needs to be arrested soon for murder because that is what it was. Trayvon was racially profiled by Zimmerman.

It is 2012 and racism is alive and well in America. I do not see that changing. I have a child and it is sad that we still have to teach kids about racism. That is still exists and to be careful because if you are african american and end up in the wrong place with the wrong people, it will be the end of your life.

Evil Is as Evil Does

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Don't be deceived by evil.
It does not go away.
It hides in plain sight behind smiles and a few good deeds.
It lies in wait and it can wait a long time.
Just long enough for you to forget the sting from the last exposure.
You forget and it waits.
Waits for the right moment to sting again.
When it shows its hideous face it is a surprise.
You wonder how you could have forgotten!
How could you forget?
You let your guard down!\
How?
After the last time you were going to be ready.
Ready with a remark or churlish word.
Ready for the brouhaha.
Ready to try to beat it.
But...you can't beat evil.
You can only be aware.
Never let your guard down.
Don;t be deceived by evil...
It never goes away.

Direct TV

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Today just about everyone is trying to jump on the tv/phone/internet bundling. There are a few tried and true companies that provide excellent service and directtv is one of them. My mother has Direct TV and loves it. I wish I had it. I have not had cable of any kind since 1994. I am considering getting cable in the future and I am considering Direct TV first. They have over 19 million views and are the number one provider of satellite services in the US. Direct TV has over 285 channels and over 170 high definition channels to watch. They include sports, shows and movies. With that many options, you will never be without something to watch.

Five options are available to choose from with dx3 direct tv. They are the : premier package, choice ultimate, choice extra, choice and entertainment. Check out the site for details on each package. They vary in price from $29.99 t0 $44.00. Those are not bad prices for viewing choices in exclusive sports programs or movies that come out even before Netflix or Redbox. Plus you have the capability to record your favorite shows even when you are not home via DVR.

The satellite service offered is state of the art using cutting edge technology for a crystal clear picture and the ability to connect wirelessly in every room. You can start watching in one room and finish up in another. There is no need for multiple DVR's. One will connect to 15 televisions. How cool is that? Installation is even free. There are some specials going on right now, so please check out www.dx3.net. A customer service representative is ready and able to tailor your satellite service to your viewing needs.

The Rabble

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Why do some have to be critical? I take a lot of pictures and I was at a wedding this past weekend when the mother of the groom approached me and said...."I can't trust you with a camera." I had no idea what she meant by that. She has always been one who is camera shy or there is always something wrong with her pictures. She has complained enough over the years that I know it is her with self image issues. It is not me.

Nevertheless, when she approached me with that at the wedding when I was taking pictures just for me, I was taken aback. She then went on to say that I post crap pictures and walked away. She is talking about pictures that I take with my camera for me that I post on my FB page. Crazy. I immediately told her I DO NOT. She walked away. I had to remind myself that it was her and not me. My feeling is to never post a picture that makes me or someone else appear in a bad light. I would not want anyone to do that to me, so I would not do that to anyone else.

The thing I need to remember is that everyone has an opinion. It does not make it true.

Admit It!

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

One of my FB friends posted this and I bet it is true for many. In my case I have been reading but now mainly on my kindle. I have not stopped reading but I do find that it is taking me a lot longer to finish books. I am distracted by FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Foodspotting, Foursquare. You name it! I am a social media addict.

I still have a child at home so I do think it is still critical that children see their parent reading. I have been reading to and with my child since she was an infant. Now she does not read so much for pleasure now. Most of her reading is just for school. I do encourage her to read books just for fun, but her time seems limited. She too, is caught up in social media. As a parent I do encourage her to "unplug." Books and reading books as we used to when we were kids is soon becoming a thing of the past.

Doheny

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Many, many years ago when I was in the fourth grade I remember when my mother was considering a pool for the backyard or a new car. In the end the car won. I wished for many years she had gotten the pool because I would have learned to swim alot sooner. I did not learn to swim until college. I took a swimming class to meet my PE requirements. It was the best class I ever took. I got over the fear of the water and I was actually able to save a cousin of mine once on a family reunion at a hotel pool. I do not know what type of pool we would have eventually gotten but I remember that it would be rectangle and not a kidney bean shape. Throughout the years I have frequented many pools...public and private and I do think about the cleanliness and the vast amounts of chlorine that seem to be in some. Some of the pools I have been in were really questionable as to the appropriate care that should have been done to maintain them.

If you have a pool these days, the care and maintenance has all be worked and reworked until it is now down to a science. No more guessing about how to maintain your pool and with what. Doheny is a company that takes the guess work out of pool maintenance. It is a company that has over 42 years of experience in the business and that allows them to bring us, the customer, the most reliable and most economical pool supplies in the country. They have everything you could possible need, from chlorine tablets and balancers to pumps, filters and heaters. Those are just a few of the plethora of items that are available from their web site.

Doheny is able to handle both commercial and residential pools in any season regardless of the weather. Doheny's Water Warehouse will save you time and money without risking quality. They are in partnership with the top manufacturers in their field to maintain an extensive inventory and keep their warehouses stocked at all times. If you have questions the site even has a handy resource center that will help you get a better understanding of the chemicals and how to achieve water balance, for starters. There are even videos and a live chat in case you have questions that need to be answered right away.

If you are maintaining your own pool now, please take a gander at this site. Doheny may be able to help you do that in a more cost effective and efficient manner. They even have overnight delivery and a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. Check out the entire site, they have pool supplies but they also have items that will help beautify your pool as well. These items are all being offered at a discount price. Right now they even had a few items on clearance. Doheny offers one stop shopping for all your needed pool supplies.

4 8 15 16 23 42

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Today I watched the season finale of LOST again. What an emotional series. I know I did not do this much crying the first time I saw it. I was too confused. Now that I have seen the entire series again, I have been able to see many things and pick up on nuances I had missed before.

What is key is watching the bonus extras at the end of the dvd of the finale. Everyone was resolved except for Walt on the tv series. In the extras Ben and Hugo go to get him and he does go back to the island. He ends up in the same mental institution Hugo went into. Walt goes back to the island to help his father Michael. Hurley makes mention that Walt will be the future protector of the island. LOST! Love it!

Time With Teens

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I do not know about other parents but I have a great teenager. I want to say that I take 100% credit for it. I think I can claim most...it was how I raised her. She is a delight to be around. Except for the occasional "clean up your room" hassle, we really have not had any issues at all. She is a young women who is thoughtful and kind with a good head on her shoulders. She is a blessing. Spending time with her is a joy. I know that time with her is limited because she will be flying the coop all too soon.

She will be making her way out into the world. I just hope I have equipped her with all she needs. I think about that alot. Did I do all that I could to teach her the skills she needed to make it in the world? Did I do it right? Can I still do more? A few of my friends have kids as well and told be that Wild Blue’s Internet would be good for my family. I had just moved to the area with my husband and our two sons. Needless to say, I was a little clueless about what company provided what and who did it well, too. My friends kept telling me how many projects the kids would have in school that would require them to do research online. So far, the boys had not needed to have Internet at the house. We put off having it installed just because everything was so hectic with the move, getting the boys ready for school and getting my husband set up with a good, steady job. As soon as all of those things settled, I figured it would be a good time to get the Internet set up, unpack some boxes and maybe even cook some home cooked meals. By the time I was ready to get the Internet set up, it was no longer a question about which provider I would choose to provide the service. My friends had talked Wild Blue up so much I could not really refuse.

Casual Fridays

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

I remember some years ago when we would have casual Fridays in the office I used to work in. Some people would take it to the limit. We were in a work setting where we could never wear jeans...even on casual Fridays.
I remember one co worker in particular. She was one who tended to put on airs and I remember she was one of the crowd who played tennis. She would come in to work on casual Friday with a white tennis skirt on that barely covered her butt cheeks. She would accompany that with a nice tennis sweater and some nice flats. It just looked like she had on a extreme mini skirt.
I guess it really would not cause any friction BUT...we had some Mormons in the office and they complained about her attire. She would tell me that she was called into the head bosses office and told that her skirt was too short for the office. The rest of us would get a memo about what casual Friday meant in our office. We did not even had it every Friday..it was something the office allowed once a month.
After that coworker wearing her miniskirts several times people got picky and began to tell on each other if they thought that their clothing was not right for casual Friday. I wore a denim skirt...long to my knees and I got in trouble for that. I accompanied it with a blouse, a blazer and heels. Another time I wore a skort...with flaps so you could not see that it was a skort. It looked like a pleated skirt. I had someone ask me if it was a skirt of skort. I said skort....I got in trouble for that. We all got an email. It was not just me...others were called out for various other violations of the invisible dress code as well.
Well. We soon realized that it was four months and we had not had a casual Friday. Management stopped it due to all the tattling and so called violations of the dress code. Petty and ridiculous how small minded some can be!

Chillaxing

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

It is Thursday and time to relax. I finally consulted some friends and called around and ended up going with a company that provided two men and a truck. They did a good job EXCEPT for the breaking of the glass top in my coffee table. They repaired it in the end but that took awhile. Moving is never fun.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a list of Removal Companies all in one place. Well, New Zealand Removals does that very thing. They have compiled the best movers into one large database to ensure that whatever your moving needs, they provide easy access to the best company for the job. They include options for local residential moving, business moving and even moving internationally. Selecting the Removalists that is best for you is easy. Once on the site, select the type of move you will be doing and location where you will be moving and you can get several quotes that you can compare before making a final selection.

Removals are easy with Removal Companies. They have been around since 1994 and have moved many people to and from New Zealand. The quotes are free and are with the top 6 movers in your area. If you are feeling a little bewildered by the move and have lots of questions, the site actually has a list of guides and helpful tools to help relieve that stress. For example, there is a guide called "Move Economics and Budgeting." This guide has a plethora of information that will help you save money where you can in the move. Packing some of your things yourself and providing your own moving supplies are just a few of the tips that will save you money. The guide on office moving has a list of "do's and don'ts" to help that move go smoothly.

Information on International Movers is available also. In addition to the information on getting the best quote, there is a very informative guide on what is needed in the way of immigration and visas for an international move. Moving in New Zealand or anywhere for that matter can end up with bad results if you do not take the time to research the best company for your move. It pays to do your homework. New Zealand Removals has helped us do our homework by providing a quick secure way to access moving information on the web in one database. They have checked out all the vendors in their database to ensure anyone moving in that area will have a good move experience. If you have a move coming up, consider Removal Companies. It is a great resource to begin your homework to ensure you will have a successful move.

Just Call Me A Hater

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

Just call me a hater, I guess. But every time I see or hear Nicki Minaj, the only thing that comes to mind is FREAK! And not in a good way. I recall that when she first came on the music scene there was some sort fo feud between her and Lil' Kim. She was in the same category. Now that that is over...I guess it is...Nicki appears to have come into her own. Own sense of freakville. I don't know...it could be all the weird hair. All those different colors. I do not have a problem with colored hair. Just odd colored hair on her. It looks SO very unnatural. Everything about her appears to be fake to me.

And let's not forget that very crazy, demon show slash exorcism she put on for the Superbowl. What the hell was that? That was weirdness of the chart. The one line in her current song that plays on the radio now that just gets me is," i want you to just father my young." What sort of message is that sending out to young girls. THE WRONG ONE! Women of color already have the black man who does nothing but father their young...no support, no child support and they for the most part are not taking part in the raising of any children. Young women today need to hear a much better and more positive message than that.

I am just happy that I have the power to change my radio station with the touch of a dial. Sorry Nicki, this is one parent who does not like your message to young girls.

Clutter and Decluttering

Snapshots In My Time...Of My Time.....Hauntings.

You never know how much "stuff" you have until you have to move. We moved several years ago from a place we had lived in for 14 years. On My! It took about 3 weeks to get everything boxed up. First I was sorting and throwing out as I went along but as time drew short I realized I would have to stop that and just throw things into boxes. At the end I literally just had to throw things into boxes. That was about 4 years ago and I am still sorting through boxes and giving things to Good Will and throwing things out. I have gotten rid of most of the clutter. The remaining is in a storage unit that I pay for monthly. I really want to get rid of that unit due to the monthly expense. Plus I just want to get rid of the "stuff". Even though the unit has been a monthly expense it has been a life saver of sorts.

Storage Sheds really can make a difference by giving you space. It would be nice to have the yard space to have a storage shed in the backyard. They give space with the convenience of being right outside the backdoor. Arrow is the leading manufacturer and distributor of steel storage units kits that you put together yourself in the backyard. The company was established in 1962 and since then they have sold over 12 million sheds to customers around the world.

Arrow Sheds come in all sizes from big to small with many styles to choose from. Some are even strong enough to withstand severe weather conditions. Kind of like the movie Jacob's Ladder. When I get the last season I will have to reassess. Right now, I just know it is a series that I will never get tired of watching.

Data Centers

In the great big world of technology there is always the need for data management. It seems that technology is running away with us instead of us running away with it. Between computers, smart phones and social media there are so many directions we could take to manage information. One way is use of a datacenter . A good data center is one that can provide hosting, colocation and disaster recovery. In addition they would offer services like daily management of servers, private clouds and operating systems. Those are just a few of the basic things most businesses would be looking for and willing to pay for when managing their data.

Most of the time we do not think of our data until something goes wrong. In my case, that is when I think of it. When my computer crashes or when I loose a file, I think, in a panic.....how can I get that back? In my world it means regenerating files or getting a new laptop. In the tech world or in the business world, loosing data could mean loosing time and possibly even money. An efficient data center would be able to handle routine things like reboots and tape swaps and have staff available who could support clients through the entire application process. What would be helpful to businesses is a data management system that would almost feel like an extension of their IT department. In addition, they would have all the possible tools to build and manage their IT operations, from spare servers, routers and switches to firewalls, Ethernet wires and cables.

In the news today we often hear about businesses that have had their data compromised. That has happened more than once with credit card companies and other retail businesses. Privacy and adherence to all the HIPAA laws is vital. There are hackers out there who wake up each day thinking.....whose data can I try to steal today? Data management needs to be HIPAA compliant. Included in the data center services should be solutions that are fully compliant with all HIPAA laws for your business to be sure all requirements are met. In regards to privacy, the perfect data management system will provide tools to diagnose, identify and eliminate any threats to your infrastructure.

With technology growing by leaps and bounds each day, data management will be the necessary wave of the future. Maybe the matrix is real! (lol) . When looking for a data management company be sure you do your research and select a company that has experience in dealing with the public and private sector. They need to offer everything you could possible need to manage and maintain your operating systems.
