This Manchester United fan with name Chris Scott gave up an astounding 19 full days spread across three months to creating a matchsticks replica of his club's home ground Old trafford. Amazing what people do for football this days.
It was a total of 450 hours culminated on the project and on Sunday while his team was being torn to shreds by the Arsenal the 41-year-old was busy working away on the structure. I must say though he did a very fine job though.

Chelsea fans just forget about Ivanovic for now because it seems only him gets all the stick whereas his other teammates have also been hugely disappointing too. However its very glaring that the team seems to be in a very steady but sharp decline compared to last season when they won the league. What’s the manager doing about it? Urhmmm calling out Arsene Wenger who by the way masterminded a good mesmerized beating of Man United over the weekend and his team have not lost in three too, or blaming referees, or blaming everyone? I’ll come back to Mr. Mourinho maybe in another post. This is just to show you how bad the situation is in the middle of the park…that is for the Chelsea fans!

It could be that the Blues are not bossing games in midfield as they did last term. Cesc Fabregas looked an inspired signing from Barcelona, instantly reminding everyone of his quality and creativity with a flying start, weighing in with 13 assists by the end of December last season.
However, things already started to go downhill when Fabregas failed to maintain this form for the second half of last season, though this was masked by his side strolling to the title with little difficulty.
Still, stats from WhoScored.com show that the Spain international is under-performing in most areas in 2015/16, playing fewer passes, fewer accurate passes, and fewer key passes. He is also making fewer tackles and has a far lower overall rating, dropping from 7.62 to 6.96.
Fabregas’ partnership with Nemanja Matic was also hailed as pivotal to Chelsea’s success last term, but the Serbian has also suffered a major dip in form, as the numbers show.
Matic may have marginally improved his tackles and interceptions per game (though this suggests his side are under more pressure than before), but he has seen falls for aerial duels, clearances and in his passing.

Dele Alampasu gets late Super Eagles call up, replacement for Enyeama?

There might just have been another twist in the Enyeama vs Oliseh saga as reports suggest 18-year-old ex- U-17, and U-20 goalkeeper Dele Alampasu who is currently based in Portugal- has been handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles for two friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon this week.
Alampasu will join the Eagles training camp in Belgium later today, sources close to the Flying Eagles shot stopper have confirmed.

It is largely suspected that Alampasu will most likely act as cover for Wolves of England goalkeeper Carl Ikeme following the much publicized fracas involvingLille shot stopper Vincent Enyeama and coach Sunday Oliseh in Belgium Tuesdaynight.
Meanwhile the two other goalies called up by Oliseh Femi Thomas of Enyimba and Ikechukwu Ezenwa from Sunshine Stars are still reportedly stranded in Nigeria as they are yet to be granted entry visas to Europe.

I'm seriously beginning to sense the end of the very illustrous international career of our Legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama. The Former Super Eagles captain was allegedly involved in a serious altercation with Super Eagles gaffer Sunday Oliseh and discloses it arose after his dead mother was insulted.
Enyeama was reported to have had a confrontation with Oliseh over captaincy issues among other things but the former skipper says a confrontation began after his mother who died before the AFCON 2017 qualifier against Tanzania was insulted. Enyeama buried his mother Madam Lucy Phillips Enyeama on Sunday October 4, in Akwa Ibom state.
He told Brilla FM: “There is no captaincy tussles …For Nigeria going forward, I need a player who is regular in the team and it is Ahmed Musa, who did a great job in Tanzania under very difficult circumstances.”
The 101 capped star however posted on his Instagram page: “After 13years of national service,having this smiles on my face and this passion in my heart. Through the billows,the waves of the ocean,the tears of defeat,the sound of rejoicing from victory chants.
“Now the thought of being stripped naked and security agents throwing me out breaks me completely. I will take anything but not insult to my dead mother.”
As i said earlier i think he's gonna quit finally...so sad love the lad to shreds, been very dedicated all this years to that team.

Revealed: Main reason behind Oliseh-Enyeama bust-up

There have been conflicting reports especially in the media concerning the main cause of the drama that ensued yesterday between Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama and current coach Sunday Oliseh yesterday as both were involved in a major bust-up.
It has now been revealed exclusively on AfricanFootball.com that the bust-up was as a result of the Akwa-Ibom born Goalkeeper being informed that team mate and CSKA forward Ahmed Musa would now captain of the Super Eagles henceforth.

According to sources close to the Eagles in Belgium, Enyeama and Oliseh went seriously at each other on Tuesday night after the Eagles coach informed him he was no longer team captain and as such he should now share a room with another player.
Stripping of the captaincy from the Lille goalkeeper may not be unconnected with events in June when he tore a query issued him by the NFF general secretary after his provocative comments about the safety of the northern Nigerian town of Kaduna to stage an AFCON qualifier against Chad.

A committee later moved to put the goalkeeper back in line by recommending he be banned from the team and removed as captain.
He will later stay away from an AFCON qualifier in Tanzania and a friendly against Niger following the death of his mother .
However, on Tuesday, pent up anger and frustration from the whole drama in Kaduna took another disturbing turn when 101 capped Enyeama was informed he was no longer captain.

“It was a nasty and ugly scene as Enyeama and Oliseh insulted the life out of each other that at a time it looked like security would have to be called up,” a source informed AfricanFootball.com

Several senior players led by Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi tried to stop Enyeama from quitting the team’s camp in Belgium thereafter.
And one of the official Twitter handles of the NFF simply reported at the heat of the row “It’s true there was a little misunderstanding in the camp of @NGSuperEagles, but the matter has been resolved. Enyeama stays in camp.”

However Sunday Oliseh just seems to be towing one very bad road concerning this issue and i'm very sure we all might know how this one would end up, and trust me it might not be good for the new Super Eagles boss...Just ask Siasia

CSKA's Ahmed Musa eyes EPL move

Super Eagles and CSKA Moscow speed merchant Ahmed Musa has disclosed that language will be a major factor when he makes up his mind to leave his current Russian employers CSKA.

The former Kano Pillars man in the past reportedly turned down juicy offers from top clubs in Ukraine and other non-English speaking nations. He said he may be not prepared to ply his trade where English is not the lingua franca as it might pose a very big difficulty.
Although offers from PSG and top clubs could be tempting, Musa maintained that he is not prepared to learn a new language….
He stressed that going to language class could be time consuming while he’s trying to concentrate on his career. He pointed out that England seems to be the right destination on his mind right now if he is to make a move.

“I don’t want to learn new language afresh," Musa told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I just want to play where I need not bother myself with the language; rather I want to focus on my football. England suits me at the moment because there all I need to do is play football without any language barrier.

Mauro Icardi fires agent of more than 10 years and hires controversial wife

Current Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has reportedly fired his agent of more than a decade Abian Moreno and handed his business dealings to controversial wife Wanda Nara.

Businessman Moreno, who had represented the striker for more than 10 years, broke the news during a radio interview.

Moreno told Radio Uno that his contract with the 22-year-old striker had not been renewed and would instead be represented by his wife Nara.

Icardi caused controversy in 2014 when he married Argentinian model Nara in front of 12 relatives in Buenos Aires.

She was previously married to Icardi’s former team-mate Maxi Lopez and both players had a highly publicised on-field spat in April last year when neither would shake hands.

Former Barcelona forward Lopez looked after Icardi when he first came to Italy and the pair spent lots of time together, along with then partner Nara…chai so invariably him don dey eye the babe since!

The love triangle between the two players and Argentinian WAG Nara was exposed in November 2013 when it was revealed Icardi had made moves on his former friend's wife as their marriage fell apart. The Inter Milan forward took to Twitter at the time to declare: 'I love you (Wanda Nara), it will never be easy to say what I feel, because I discovered that those two words ('I love you' = 'te amo' in Spanish) carry with them one feeling without limits!'

The tweet coincided with an interview given by Nara released by Revista People, in which the model revealed: 'It’s been three months since my husband had sex.

‘Maxi has neglected me. Although I’ve been living in luxury, I am also living with hidden pain.'

Is this a good move from the Striker only time would tell, but he might just get that historic 'what money' question if it eventually becomes a bad move.

SPURS EYE BOUFAL AND DEPOITRE (US NEITHER)
Gossip might be thin on the ground (and it is so, so thin), but two news outlets report interest from Tottenham in different players.
The first is the Daily Star’s claim that Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign Lille playmaker Sofiane Boufal. He’s a little gem who has understandably been dubbed as the ‘new Eden Hazard’.
Lille captain Rio Mavuba recently restarted the hype machine after Boufal’s excellent start to the Ligue Un season: “He reminds me of Eden when he was playing here. It is striking, he likes the ball, even if he plays too much sometimes. But he is young, you have to let him grow.”
Elsewhere, French radio station RTL claims that Spurs will make an approach for Gent forward Laurent Depoitre in January.
Depoitre would be both an odd and underwhelming signing. He’s scored six goals in ten league games for Gent this season, but only made the top tier in Belgium at the start of last season and has just been called up to the Belgium squad for the first time. He’s 26.

VILLA PREPARE AFOBE BID
It’s a link that has surfaced before, but there are further claims that Aston Villa will try and sign Benik Afobe from Wolves for a fee of over £10m in January.
The Birmingham Mail report the link without adding much flesh to the bones, normally an indication that they aren’t buying it. The Metro also pick up on the rumour which looks like it began in The Sun.
The Sun claim that Tim Sherwood will go over £10m for Afobe, with a contract worth around £50,000 a week. That relies on him still being in charge in January, which looks mightily unlikely on current form.

Super Eagles and Lazio hard tackling midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has expressed his delight at returning to the national team after serving a two-match ban after being suspended following a red card he received in during the Eagles 2-0 victory over Chad in Kaduna.

The former Golden Eaglets star told reiterated that his return to the national team has opened a new chapter in his career with a new manager in charge of the Super Eagles.
Onazi who is currently in Super Eagles Verviers Hotel camp in Belgium says paramount for him now would be to help return the Super Eagles to winning ways in the qualifiers in order to pick a Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations ticket.

Depay cum "dutch Zorro" is totally livid with the Dutch press corps. The Dutch international is in Holland to prepare for two crucial Euro qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Czech Republic.
Last time he was on international duty the flamboyantly dressed winger turned up in a wide-brimmed hat and blood red Louis Vuitton scarf.
The Dutch media, and former Holland players, ridiculed Depay’s outfit.
The branding of the “Louis” scarf had media men teasing him as “Louis’s boy”, linking him to United boss Louis van Gaal.
Yesterday Depay looked for revenge by refusing to speak to any of the written press saying: “I don’t want to talk to you lot.”

Its becoming more like a pattern seeing her in stadiums and all anyways Zlatan capped of a very good week in which he celebrated his birthday the day before the game by becoming Paris St Germain’s all-time leading scorer as he netted twice in a 2-1 win over bitter rivals Marseille in the Ligue 1 clash on Sunday.

Liverpool expect to unveil new boss Klopp by Friday

It appears Former Borrusia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp who has been the frontrunner to replace axed kop manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be unveiled as Liverpool 's new manager as early as Friday.
Talks have been ongoing with the 48-year-old German and his advisors since Sunday and Liverpool are so confident of landing the charismatic German that they have begun planning his introductory press conference….

Siasia discloses aggrement for Awoniyi to play for U-23 in Rio qualifier

Nigeria U-23 coach Samson Siasia has disclosed he has an agreement that newly signed Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi will be released by German Bundesliga 2 side FSV Frankfurt for next month’s Africa U23 Nations Cup in Senegal, which will serve as qualifiers for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil.

“We got an agreement from the club before the player signed that he will be released for the competition in Senegal. So we expect them to keep to this commitment,” Siasia said.
Awoniyi, who missed the recent All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville so as to finalise his move to Europe, is on loan to Germany from EPL side Liverpool.

The 18-year-old big body molded striker has been an unused substitute in Frankfurt’s last two league games.
The coach admitted it will be difficult to get a full array of overseas pros for the tournament, but would be satisfied with a handful of them to strengthen his team and help in making the Rio push.
“We hope we could get three, four of them to add value to the team, but there will be no automatic shirt for them. They will have to come and prove they can improve what we are doing,” Siasia maintained.

Nigeria Super Eagles camp update

The camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria seems to be bubbling with a lot of players already in camp preparing for two international friendlies in Belgim.

They had already opened training at the R. Battice FC trainin groung with 15 players including England based midfielder John Mikel Obi led goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, defenders Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun, midfielders Sylvester Igbonu, Rabiu Ibrahim, Ogenyi Onazi and Obiora Nwankwo and forwards Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Iwobi at training on Monday evening.

The Team trained twice yesterday (10am and 4pm) at the same venue.

Defender Godfrey Oboabona is also having visa issues in Turkey, as his international passport is yet to be released by the Belgian Embassy in that country.

Also, Super Eagles’ officials on ground may need to secure the services of a temporary physiotherapist for massage and medical matters if by Tuesday, the team’s medical crew (part of the delegation that is held up in Abuja) is not issued visas to join the group in Belgium. Its been revealed.

Six home based professionals are in the delegation yet to be issued visas in Abuja. These are goalkeepers Femi Thomas and Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defender Chima Akas and Austin Oboroakpo, midfielder Paul Onobi and forward Prince Aggrey of Sunshine stars.

The Super Eagles takes on the Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo in Vise, Liege on Thursday before playing the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Dendermonde on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ekong and Echiejile twitted while confirmed their arrival on Monday.

Chelsea No.1 Cortois steps up rehab in swimming pool while his teammates languish

If you ever thought you were ever in the wrong generation, then let me dispel that thought from your mind as just the sounds of "Abramovic's Chelsea coached by Jose" and "relegation" in the same sentence is totally crazyyyy! and i doubt you might see it again in a while meanwhile the blues are languishing and dancing in the red zone while their first choice keeper Thibaut Courtois who also was in the red zone with a knee ligament injury is getting better and stepping up his rehab in a swimming pool.

The 23-year-old Belgian who has not played since sustaining the injury against Crystal Palace is still some six weeks away from a return but seems to be showing good progress. He took to Instagram to show pictures of his recovery process in the swimming pool and physiotherapy session.

The pool at Chelsea's Cobham training facility is fitted with a Hydrotherapy treadmill with depth, incline and video recording facility.

The technology allows for players to run underwater, building their fitness levels without applying any weight to injured muscles and ligaments in the legs.

Alongside the pictures on Instagram Courtois wrote: 'Another good day at rehabilitation today! #workhard #comebackstronger. Starting a next step of rehabilitation in the swimming pool.'

LMC wields the axe again this time for unacceptable fan's unruly conduct on 4 NPFL clubs

Heartland, Nasarawa United, Giwa and Abia Warriors are this time those who go under the axe as they have been fined various sums of money after unruly conduct by their fans during matchday 32 matches.

According to the League Management Company (LMC), the clubs have been charged for various breaches bordering on their failure to provide adequate security and unacceptable supporters’ behaviour even as match officials involved in three of the 10 games of Match Day 32 also received queries.
The chairman of Heartland FC supporters club, Iyke Jacob, was handed a six-match ban for acts of intimidation and harassment of referees.
Nasarawa United, Giwa FC, Abia Warriors and Heartland FC were fined minimum of N500,000 as the LMC exercised summary jurisdiction after thorough investigation of reported crowd incidences during the matches involving the four sides.
Abubakar said: “The sanctions are a demonstration of the LMC’s strong objection to failure on the part of clubs to provide hitch-free match day experiences for the thousands of fans who have since the implementation of various reform initiatives been returning to the stadiums for NPFL games”. On the referees, I. Indabawa from Kano and his two assistants from Kwara State, M. Surakat and S. O Toyin were recommended for investigation by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referees Appointment Committee for below par performance in the Abia Warriors vs Rangers fixture.
Also recommended for investigation was assistant referee A. Bulus from Abuja for deficiencies in the handling of the Heartland FC vs Enyimba match, while the center referee B. Odey from Abuja was reprimanded and advised to improve performance and control of match proceedings.
James Amadin from Edo State also received a reprimand and caution to improve match management.
The referees recommended for investigation were also requested to be withdrawn from further handling of matches in the NPFL until after the conclusion of investigation.
The LMC said it has increased match monitoring to ensure that clubs maintained the decorum that has prevailed all through the season and cautioned that “we cannot allow some fans still steeped in the old order to bring to disrepute the integrity, pleasant match day experiences and increased positive public perception of the league”.

It's a dream for me but I just want to keep helping my team win games and if the top scorer award comes, glory to God. But Aguero looks good for it, having scored five goals against Newcastle United.

(Laughs) so that means for every two I score he hits five. You can't compare the teams we both play in and the players both clubs have, but it's a target that with God is achievable.
You played in the English Championship last season and now in the EPL, could you compare bot‎h?
The Championship is very physical while in the EPL you don't get a lot of chances to score because most of the defenders are ‎very experienced, so you have to take your chances when you have them.

Meanwhile Ukrainian Model Angelina Petrovska heard of the financial plight of her hometown club FC Metallurh Zaporizhya and she decided to help them in quite stunning and pornographic fashion much to the happiness of fans. She posed for photos at the club's stadium, which is based in the city of Zaporizhia in south-eastern Ukraine's.
The club are selling off posters of the model and are putting her image on souvenirs in a bid to raise the cash to keep the club in business.
The somehow sexually explicit photoshoot provided a timely boost for the club, who sit bottom of the Ukrainian Premier League with just three points from their first eight matches.

Arsenal hand Alex Iwobi new long term contract

North London giants Arsenal have handed 19-year-old youngster and soon to be capped Nigerian international Alex Iwobi a new long term contract, a big show of faith and regard on the path of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who was somewhat instrumental in pushing Iwobi into the first team this season and his managerial team. He revealed the development on twitter with a picture of him, the Arsenal boss and some family members during the contract signing.
The young forward has been impressive for the Arsenal U-21 this season as well as impressed both fans and manager during the current season's pre-season campaign where he featured on the tour of Singapore and netted against Lyon in the Emirates cup.

It is however yet to be seen whether Iwobi who was born in Lagos, Nigeria and is a nephew to former Nigerian Super Eagles masetro and captain Jay-Jay would follow in the foot-steps of other great players, breaking out from the Hale End, Arsenal's academy into the first team the latest in that category being the stellar Bellerin who has totally benched Debuchy and has continued his rave development in the gunners first team.

Well if news on social media is anything to go by Super Eagles captain and Lille of France goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was kicked out of camp yesterday by Super Eagles gaffer Sunday Oliseh.
This was confirmed through the twitter handle of Muyiwa Lawal a football researcher and investigator.

Meanwhile the Nigerian Football Federation through its own twitter handle confirmed the bust-up and maintains it has been contained and resolved with the veteran goalkeeper still in camp.

4 reasons President Muhamadu Buhari must not appoint a new Minister of Sports

With the release of the long awaited Ministerial list of the Federal government by the Nigerian Senate early yesterday, many Nigerian sports fans as well as prominent figures in the sports sector would surely have a very recurring question at the back of their minds which goes thus; "who would be at the helm of affairs in the sports ministry?"
Sometime last month i recall listening to a sports program on one of the local radio stations and this very important question "who should be the next minister of sports?" was put up on the forum which had speakers to help for analysis, that was when it struck me.

All the analysts on the show that day tended to tilt towards former Minister of Sports Bolaji Abdullahi who held the position at a certain period in the past adminisrtation of President Goodluck Jonathan and couldn't just see past the Kwara born politician for the position when the ministerial list were out as he had also defected to the ruling party while also helping in his his own capacity to see that present President Muhamadu Buhari won the last election. I however had a very different view of who and how things should be run in the Sports ministry.

Don't get me wrong Mr. Abdullahi had or has done nothing wrong in fact given how successful his tenure as the Minister of Sports was with Nigeria achieving some great feats and achievements he was acclaimed the best Minister of Sports the country had produced by many and i'm of the same view too.
Meanwhile coming back to that very important question "who should be the next minister of sports?" what struck me on listening to that program was an idea even those so called analysts had no notice of that it was a very evident, weird but understandably sensible idea that Nigeria didn't really need one and has not actually needed one but failed to see it somehow.

Now don't fret i'll give you genuine reason's as to why i feel this bold claim is a fact and should be followed in whatever ministerial list President Muhamadu Buhari is preparing for the nation. Lets delve in shall we:

1. Minister of Sports or Minister of football?
Yea Yea i know its another question but its one of the very essential and important reasons i see another Minister of sports for this country as very detrimental to the development of sports generally in the country.
Personally my love for football overshadows other sports but its not the only sport i follow as i also love tennis, basketball and golf and this kind of relationship can be related to what we've seen from most if not all of the minister's of Sports we've had in this country and is vividly evident in the level of development in football in the country as to a sport like cricket which exists. Yes cricket exists in this country! and there are some very ardent cricket lovers and followers in this country but there is a high level of desertation in the sport and cricket is just an example. So personally we are lovers of Sports and maybe if i was appointed the minister of sports sometime this is not a campaign oo, there would be that urge to as much as possible boost football to the highest possible level as i already have so many ideas i would like to input into the country's footballing system just locked in my head, we are humans and its understandable it's what you love but it boils down to that simple fact when you come in for work everyday and you look at the door to your office and it reads Minister of Sports and not Minister of football trust me i don't really know whether most of the past ministers of sports even for once just stopped to see what was written on the door of an office they kept on going to everyday to be the administrative voice of sports.

2. The NSC should be in charge!
What is the NSC for would be the most obvious question some people should be asking right now anyways it's full meaning is the National Sports Commission and this is the definition of the specification of work the NSC has concerning sports in the country, its described according to Wikipedia as the "apex body" responsible for regulating Sports in the country and is headed by a Director General. Apex-body in quotes as you can see but in this country lets be frank and honest with each other has the NSC ever been involved with any of the Nigerian Football teams as like an oversight or something not absolutely directly? or even the high and mighty Nigerian Football Federation which seems to take orders from only two people at a certain time the President or the minister of Sports?, so what has been the real job of the NSC over the years?
These are very intuitive questions that need answering by the government as well as the senate which i would rightly also blame because they say one of their main jobs is to carry out oversight, i guess this should be a very interesting and important one to be looked upon as there is the need for we Nigerians to understand whether the "NSC is just the NSC of the Nigerian Sports festival only or Nigerian Sports in general".
They create a body like the NSC giving it apex powers and turn it into a mere under funded subordinate of another ministry of Sports. This is not Politics but one has to wonder seriously because it seems there is this sense of shared responsibility where the NSC does all it can catering for the other sports in the country while football just enjoys both presidential and ministerial favours and attention.

3. The NSC can handle the Sports sector competently and alone!
This was evidently portrayed during the just concluded all Africa games in Congo Brazaville where Team Nigeria came fourth on the final medal's table with 23 gold medals, 33 silver medals, 27 bronze medals a final total medal haul of 83 medals, a decent run given we started quite slowly and at this time the President was yet to appoint the Minister of Sports so the outing was totally co-ordinated by the NSC and was fairly successful because Nigeria won medals in some sports we were not really known for like shot-put. That is what the right amount of training, and the right quality of coaching staff can do. I guarantee you we already have the talents and in the football event we only took the bronze medal.
If the NSC could solely and solely "well emphasised" be handled the Sports portfolio and funding with football involved and all the federations and associations involved in Sporting activities in the Country under the body it would be a very big plus to the country because Sports is a very big avenue for any government to boost the economy of the country both job-wise and revenue wise only if they could realise it.

4. Flush of Cash
I am not going to tell you that i know the funds allocation and collection system of the NSC, the ministry of Sports or any federation or association of any Sport in the country but it is quite obvious that a very large chunk goes into football and i stated the main reason for this situation earlier. I'm not saying that football should be left to rot but all i am saying is that funds should be somewhat evenly shared. Somewhat in the sense that i doubt if it could be evenly shared amongst all the federations for the development of their various sports and all but whatever sharing quota system is used to share the funds should be very understandable and realistic so as not to push some Sports into extinction in the Country as a result of poor funding while some just enjoy and lavishly spend the funds which is the very evident case today.

With these reasons and facts i stand by my initial assertions that Nigeria doesn't really need a minister of sports and has not actually needed one for a while. I will however prescribe a very swift yet effective and basic solution to the Buhari led government which would be to merge the ministry of sports and the NSC into one as the two entities should not stand alone an action which would not only be cost-saving but also cost-effective to the government while significantly improving Nigerian sports generally.

Brazillian legendary football icon Ronaldinho has had one heck of a week really.

Just Days after having his contract with former club and South American giants Fluminense terminated, he summed it up by crashing his flash 4x4 car down a ditch in his homeland.
Funny enough though a football fan saw the car crash as too good a chanceto let slip and went in confidently for a selfie with the star.
Obviously, Ronaldinho was not in the best of moods after the disastrous end to his horrific week.
And that was clear to see as he stood in front of the camera alongside the opportunistic fan.
But i must say the Brazillian just has to be handed the award for the most ackward selfie of the year if there was ever and award as that he's the indisputed winner.

Ronaldinho clearly looked affected by the incidents and appears to be slightly teary-eyed from the shock of the crash, as his bad luck continued…..please don’t cry..hehehehehe
But smile a little bit for another selfie, giving a thumbs up while flaunting his famous fang-like teeth in a separate selfie with another opportunist fan...cheer up mate
He surely escaped the car crash without any serious injuries or damages or he won't have snapping selfies.

DICK TO PULL OUT AT SUNDERLAND

George Caulkin of the Times is slightly more reserved, reporting that Advocaat is simply closer to leaving, not that he definitely will.

Internal politics and a lack of investment are cited as the reasons for both.

PEREZ REVEALS SPURS INTEREST
Remember Spurs’ transfer deadline day this summer? It was bloody hilarious, and that’s even forgetting the whole Saido Berahino thing.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side reportedly submitted late bids for Victor Wanyama, Axel Witsel and Cheikhou Kouyate as the window drew to an end, but they also were rumoured to have offered Newcastle £15million for Ayoze Perez. For what it’s worth, the striker has confirmed as such.
“There was interest from Tottenham, especially from Pochettino,” Perez told Marca. “It is a compliment to me. In the end it did not work because Newcastle considered me too important and would not let me leave.”
It’s worked out for Spurs in the end, in all fairness.

CHELSEA TO LOAN OUT RUBEN NEVES
They’ll have to sign him first, mind.
The London Evening Standard report that Ruben Neves will be the subject of a £29million bid from Chelsea next summer after he impressed for Porto against the Blues in the Champions League. Neves is a supremely talented 18-year-old defensive midfielder and already a regular for the Portuguese side.
Neves is also attracting interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid, and although he is obviously a huge prospect, his £29million release clause has left clubs understandably wary. Chelsea’s main target remains Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, but Neves represents a cheaper – albeit far more risky – option.

Enyeama shattered by mother's death

Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has revealed that he is still “shattered and devastated” by the death of his mother.

The Super Eagles captain sat out Nigeria’s last two internationals, against Tanzania and Niger Republic, as a result but is billed to return for October’s friendly fixtures against Congo DR and Cameroon.
Enyeama also missed his club Lille OSC’s Ligue 1 fixture against Montpellier which Les Dogues won 2-0 on Friday.
The Nigeria captain is currently in his hometown, Akwa Ibom, where his mother will be laid to rest today and the 33-year-old took the time to pay his last respects.
“I am shattered and devastated because my mother was my pillar. She was full of life and showed no signs of illness before she died so this is quite difficult to take,” the goalkeeper told supersport.com.
Enyeama is the most capped footballer in the history of Nigerian football (101 appearances for the Super Eagles) and has played at three Fifa World Cups in 2002, 2010 and 2014.
He was also part of the Nigeria side that won the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) title in South Africa in 2013 and he pointed out the role his late mother played in his numerous career successes.
“My mother was always there for me handing me important pieces of advice and always praying for me.
“In the most difficult moments of my life, she was always there, and there is no way I would have achieved all I have if it wasn’t for her influence in my life,” he said.
