Daily Bell: Give us some background on yourself and how you have come to your current success.

Gerald Celente: My background is such that after graduate school and I got my Masters in Public Administration, I started running political campaigns in Westchester County in New York, which is a very affluent area. I was very successful at it so they sent me up to Albany, where I became the assistant to the secretary of the New York State Senate; Albany, of course, is the capital of New York State. It was there that I really started learning about the political game. It was probably the worst job I ever had because it was watching grown men suck up and bow down all day to get to the top. So from there I taught at St. John's University and it was the nation's first course in American politics and campaign technology – how to run a political campaign. From there I moved to Chicago and was a government affairs specialist for the chemical industry. I used to put together, when they were just being formed, political action committees. So I would hire the people, do the work to get legislation overturned or get different legislation passed.
So I have been around the political scene long enough to have a good feel of it. Then in the late 1970s it was that lightbulb moment, and Jimmy Carter had just come back from Iran. The Iranian conflict was heating up and, ironically, it is just heating up as we are speaking now. Not much has changed; only the names and players. So Carter comes back from spending New Year's Eve with the Shah and his wife and announces that the Shah is the "Island of Stability" in the Middle East. At that moment I became a political atheist. I'd been following this thing for years. I knew how the United States government and the MI5 in the UK overthrew the democratically elected government of Mossaddegh in Iran, in 1953, because he had the NERVE to nationalize the oil fields, take it away from Anglo-Iranian oil – better known today as BP and Standard Oil, better known today as Exxon. So I knew also what a brutal dictator the Shah was and how he had imprisoned and slaughtered and tortured tens of thousands of people. Our nation is quickly heading towards a state of crisis. Our freedoms seem to be under constant assault. We are so quick to trade in our liberty for safety and security. Our economy is in shambles. Our morals have been swept to the wayside. Our youth have lost respect. Our government is corrupt. Our national security is in jeopardy from things like illegal immigration. America's principles and traditions that it was founded upon are being twisted, perverted, forgotten and in some cases completely destroyed.

Our world's history is the greatest gift handed to us; it is our blueprint to follow or to alter. We must learn these lessons from our past as to avoid the pitfalls of the future. We do this so our children do not look back at us and wonder what happened and why we were so quick to fail them.

Below is a quote from my grandfather's book that was published over 50 years ago. It is amazing that certain truths hold true no matter how long ago they were written and sometimes are even more evident now then they were in the past.

The numbers tell us America is in decline… if not outright collapse. I say “the numbers tell us” because I’ve become very sensitive to the impact this kind of statement has on people. When I warned about the impending bankruptcy of General Motors in 2006 and 2007, readers actually blamed me for the company’s problems – as if my warnings to the public were the real problem, rather than GM’s $400 billion in debt. The claim was absurd. But the resentment my work engendered was real. So please… before you read this issue, which makes several arresting claims about the future of our country… understand I am only writing about the facts as I find them today. I am only drawing conclusions based on the situation as it stands. I am not saying that these conditions can’t improve. Or that they won’t improve. The truth is, I am optimistic.

I believe our country is heading into a crisis. But I also believe that… sooner or later… Americans will make the right choices and put our country back on sound footing. Please pay careful attention to the data I cite. And please send me corrections to the facts. I will happily publish any correction that can be substantiated. But please don’t send me threats, accusations against my character, or baseless claims about my lack of patriotism. If I didn’t love our country, none of these facts would bother me. I wouldn’t have bothered writing this letter. I know this is a politically charged and emotional issue.

My conclusions will not be easy for most readers to accept. The world seems to be steadily moving toward a state of chaos. The financial markets are so twisted they no longer know which way is up or down. Each day brings news of another country heading towards bankruptcy. We are seeing massive information dumps on the corruption of governments. Unemployment is ever increasing, poverty is on the rise, foreclosures, increasing oil prices, devaluation of currencies, greed, declining morals, terrorism, the threat of war between nations, encroaching police state and a partridge in a pear tree.

It is almost enough to drive you insane. Which brings me to my point, maybe that is indeed the goal, push the people toward insanity, hopelessness and eventually utter submission. Is it possible that all this chaos is just random or are we witnessing global engineering on a scale never before seen by humankind.

Is there a group of shadowy figures secretly manipulating the world for their own personal gain? Most will say this is conspiracy non-sense and will quickly return to their regularly scheduled program. Most are thinking we are in a slump and eventually all will return to normal. At the same time, these same people are fighting tooth and nail to keep their materialistic debt driven lives above water.

Before the criticisms start flying, do some research online or in the libraries, there is a lot good information available out there. Please take the time and learn what is really going. Because once you start digging and uncovering the truth you will not be able to stop.
