Been àving a bbq or two recently in Orduña , There are some great places to make fire and lamb chops grilled just simply taste much better (will post mini video shortly of my bbq exploits).

Anyway i am now four sleeps away from my holidays , This saturday i will get a bus to Oviedo and then onto Luarca where we will spend the night, The next day we will reach Galicia via Feve where we will spend a night in the "Rias Altas" at O Barqueiro.Then it´s onto La Coruña where we will spend two nights before reaching our last stop at Pontevedra where we will be for a few days before the nightmare 12 hour long bus ride home.

A man who sprayed white paint on the face of a Brian Clough statue has been jailed for nearly a year. Dominic Luke-Clarke, 23, of Alfreton Road, Radford, Nottingham, vandalised the £60,000 statue along with business premises to "relieve stress".

Had a good weekend away staying at Martin´s place in Logroño where we arrived on Friday night.

Woke up on Saturday and it was stoking hot and i remember seeing later on 34 degrees at 4 in the afternoon which was far too much for me although in the shade of a terrace with a cold milkshake it was better , There were fiestas going on and i was lucky enough to catch a procession of "gigantes" and "cabezudos".

The ladies went out shopping late afternoon which meant i had a bit of time for some necessary slobbing in the flat and a hearty forty winks.
We didn´t do much sight seeing but when its roasting i´m happy enough doing the rounds of bars with a small beer and snack in each tabern which we did that night and again on Sunday.
The place is well worth a visit especialy if you enjoy a good Rioja wine with plenty of young and not so young people out on the street well into the early hours.

1. Participantes. Podrán tomar parte cuantas personas lo deseen, siendo el número de obras a presentar indefinido.
2. Tema. Orduña.
3. Técnica, material y tamaño. Libres. Las obras deberán dar muestras de haber sido realizadas en Orduña, así como estar en consonancia con el tiempo en que acontece el certamen.
4. Sellado de obras. Los soportes rígidos en blanco deberán sellarse en la Casa de Cultura de 9:00 a 11:00 de la mañana. En este momento cada participante recibirá una ficha que deberá entregar cumplimentada junto con la obra.
5. Presentación de los trabajos. Los trabajos concluidos se presentarán SIN FIRMA de 13:30 a 15:00 h. en la Casa de Cultura, junto con la ficha.
6. Jurado. Un jurado cualificado determinará las mejores obras. El fallo será inapelable y se dará a conocer a las 18:00 h. en la Casa de Cultura, procediéndose en ese momento a la entrega de premios.
7. Propiedad de las obras. Las obras premiadas pasarán a ser de la Casa de Cultura, quien se reserva el derecho de su reproducción, subasta o exposición, sin que ello suponga o sean exigibles derechos de autor.
8. Premios. Mayores de 18 años. 1º: 1.200 euros 2º: 800 euros 3º: 500 euros Primer clasificado local 350 euros
9. Retirada de obras. Se llevará a cabo una exposición con todos los trabajos presentados, del 27 de julio al 2 de agosto. Dichas obras se podrán recoger en la Casa de Cultura, del 1 al 15 de septiembre, en horario de 8 a 14:30 h. En el caso de no ser retiradas en ese plazo, las obras pasarán a ser propiedad de la Casa de Cultura sin que exista posibilidad alguna de reclamación por parte del artista.
10. La participación en este certamen implica la aceptación de todas y cada una de las bases. La organización podrá incluir cuantas modificaciones estime convenientes para el mejor desarrollo del mismo. Igualmente, se ocupará del cuidado de las obras, pero no se hará responsable de la integridad de las mismas.

La ciudad acoge desde hoy la segunda edición de sus jornadas del perretxiko, un manjar que se encuentra en abundancia en el valle de Ayala y que se quiere promocionar. Para ello, se ha confeccionado un programa de actividades que incluye rutas gastronómicas y cursos para aprender a cocinar estos hongos. Conocidas también como sisas, lansarones y setas de primavera o de San Jorge, el perretxiko de Orduña «es la reina de la temporada, la mejor seta de la primavera», explicaron desde la organización del evento, impulsado por el Ayuntamiento, el hotel balneario, la asociación de comerciantes y los txokos de Orduña.

Torquay are back in the league after promotion at wembley,Torquay United boss Paul Buckle has said he is thrilled to have gained promotion following Sunday's play-off win against Cambridge. Went to Tertanga on Sunday which is a half hour walk from the city , Nice and quiet place with great views of the mountain walls and the "pico del fraile" , Will post shortly a mini video of our stroll.

It´s D.day for Athletic de Bilbao fans , Tonight at ten o´clock they will play the mighty Barcelona for the kings cup and i am predicting an unexpected win by Athletic 1-0 with the winner coming from Toquero.

(Final score was 1-4 one goal by Toquero but 4 by Barcelona!!)

Villagers in Cattistock , Dorset have been competing to see who can toss their biscuits the furthest in the second annual "Dorset knob throwing" event. Besides Knob Throwing there will be additional fun knob attractions including Knob Painting, a Knob & Spoon Race, Guess the weight of the Big Knob, Knob Darts and a Knob Pyramid.

A Dorset Knob is a hard dry savoury biscuit made by Moores Biscuits in Dorset, England, in Morcombelake four miles west of Bridport in the west of the county. Dorset Knobs are typically eaten with cheese (for example, Dorset Blue Vinney). They are very crumbly and rather like very dry stale bread in consistency, but more tasty than this sounds. They are normally sold in a distinctive and traditional tin, in which they keep well. The Moores family have baked biscuits in Dorset since before 1860. The bakery was established in 1880, making a variety of traditional biscuits as well as their most famous product, Dorset Knobs.
