Sad to say, I have cancelled my subscription to MYGLAM. Currently the new name for Myglam is IPSY. I'm not sure why they changed the name. Everything seems to work exactly the same. My last bag was the July 2012 Beach Beauty bag. My favorite product from that bag was the cucumber facial wipes. My reasons for canceling were #1, I wanted to put the $10 I was spending toward the monthly Myglam subscription toward one of my hair care products that I need on a monthly basis and #2, I didn't need anymore lip products. In the future, I may start my subscription back up again because I had a very good experience with them.

I've been using NP SET'S LIP GLOSS in the color maldives since receiving it as a gift during the summer season. This lip gloss has a lot of shimmer in it and normally I would shy away from using a lip gloss with a lot of shimmer because I prefer an all natural lip color but it's currently my favorite go to color for both day and night. The color is a deep rose and the shimmer is super fine creating a very wearable casual day to night lip color. I have always had problems with keeping my lips moisturized and normally I will use a lip balm under most lip glosses. I don't feel the need for it when I use this lip gloss. I don't have any complaints about this product so I'm giving it an EXCELLENT rating.

2 products I've been using for the past 11 months from URBAN DECAY is the VEGAN PALETTE and the SPARKLING LICKABLE BODY POWDER. Both of these products get an EXCELLENT rating. The eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer potion (which is not shown in photo), and eyeliner has been frequently over the months and amazingly, I still have a lot of eyeliner and primer left. I've been using the powder for evenings out and my kids have been enjoying it too. Both products are on sale now at Urban Decay at a deep discounted price. 2 great products for yourself to enjoy or a gift for someone special.

The MAC PEARLGLIDE INTENSE EYE LINER in the color LORD IT UP is perfect for evenings out in Hawaii. It gives the right amount of shimmer and glitter without looking too done up. The creamy texture makes it very easy for me to create the look I want in a short amount of time. I've been using it both as an eyeliner and as an eye shadow. Without primer, this eye liner does smudge a little but with a primer, it's smudge proof. I'm giving this eyeliner a GOOD rating. I would have given this product an excellent rating if it didn't require primer.

If you have a beauty artist in training in your household like I do, then you know what it's like to have one set of makeup as your own and one set of makeup to use on other people. My teen daughter has done makeup for 5 people for prom this year. She started her makeup collection to use on other people last year and has a decent amount of products and brushes to use on them. Her newest addition that she got a couple of months ago has been the BITE LUMINOUS CREME LIPSTICK LET OF 5. Prior to receiving it she was using lipsticks from different brands and purchasing them one at a time. This mini set of 5 lipsticks is perfect for the age group she has been working on. The colors are creamy and go on light in color and the price is reasonable for the amount of lipsticks received. I'm giving this lipstick set a GOOD rating for its price, usable size, and color selections. It would have been nice to have these lipsticks in a palette type of case to store them easier rather than a box.

The MAC PENULTIMATE EYE LINER in rapid black easily creates an amazing cat eye with its super fine tip. After many hours of use, this eyeliner is also smudge free. I'm giving this liquid liner an EXCELLENT rating. Minus the expensive price tag, I have no complaints about this product.

MYGLAM bag for the month of June came a little later than normal because of some shipping issues. I was very impressed with the timely help and problem solving through email that I received during the process of getting a new bag shipped to me from the Myglam team. On a scale from 1-10, I'm giving them a rating of 8 1/2 for customer service for my experience with them during the month of June. My rating for them would have been higher if there was a contact number to be able to speak to someone personally.

All beauty products came in a gold glitter cosmetic bag. Out of everything, I like the Living Proof nourishing styling cream best. It works in fighting frizz and smells clean and fruity. I tweeted about the Marbella permanent eyeliner on the day that I would begin using it. I'm not crazy about this eyeliner, sad to say because I was excited and hopeful it would be my new favorite. In this humid Hawaiian heat, it did not pass the no smudge test. Approximately 2 hours after use, it did smudge. I did however love the tip of the pen and how easily and quickly I was able to create the look I wanted.

If you needed one travel palette that carries almost everything, the SEPHORA COLLECTION MEDIUM SHOPPING BAG MAKEUP PALETTE would be okay to have. The eye shadows go on very light and the blushes come in small rectangle trays making them hard to use. The lip glosses are great and come in 12 wearable shades for day and night. It closes neatly and compact in a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1" sleek box with slide out trays. My rating for this product is FAIR. 2 large squares for blushes and some pigmented shadows would have made this palette excellent.

The shampoo and conditioner from ORGANIX BEAUTY PURE AND SIMPLE smells so good. The combination of cherries and cream seemed like it might be the best shampoo and conditioner I ever tried. Unfortunately, even though my hair smelled amazing, the shampoo made my hair very dry and the conditioner did little to restore the moisture back into my hair. I'm giving both the shampoo and conditioner a FAIR rating. I'm hoping the company will work on making this product more moisturizing. If they do, I would repurchase this product and try it again.

I was most excited to receive Philosophy's Love Sweet Love fragrance because there's no where on the island to sample it. The fragrance is sweet and young. Perfect for my teen daughter. The lipstick alone is more expensive than the $10 subscription so once again, I'm pleased with my purchase.

To take a break from my daily acne treatments, I have been using the BURT'S BEES NATURAL ACNE TREATMENTS for one month. The two treatments I've been using twice daily is the Deep Cleansing Cream and Daily Moisturizing Lotion. I'm giving the two products a FAIR rating. The deep cleansing cream has a nice creamy consistency that reminds me of Noxema and the daily moisturizing lotion is silky and smooth but made my already oily skin very shiny with its silky texture. Overall my experience with this product was okay for the first 2 weeks and not so good for the last 2 weeks because of breakouts.

Originally I purchased the MOR HIGH SOCIETY GIFT PACK for a friend on a neighboring island but after receiving it, I decided I would hang on to it for another friend that lives in the contiguous states. The scent is a vanilla musk with jasmine flower but the floral scent is more pronounced than the vanilla making it too strong for island wear. I'm giving this product a FAIR rating because the scent is too florally and strong. I was under the impression that the vanilla would be the stronger scent and the jasmine flower a background note with musk. The packaging I love and inside the box the lotion and hand cream came wrapped in a MOR logo printed tissue paper.

Last weekend I threw one of my dearest friends a baby shower. As a thank you gift, she gave me the Country Chic collection by BATH AND BODY WORKS. I love this scent. I give it an EXCELLENT rating. Everything about it is so me. On the description, it's a blend of lemon, bright wildflowers and spring woods but to me it has the scent of berries with a lemon background. I love it. I use theFRAGRANCE MIST and BODY LOTION before heading out the door. To end my day, I've been using the amazing SHOWER GEL. It's very fragrant with lots of lather and it makes me and my steamy bathroom smell so good. The TRIPLE MOISTURE BODY CREAM is packed with moisture making it perfect for my feet at night before getting into bed.

STILLA ULTIMATE COLOR PALETTE

Are you an impulse buyer sometimes? I know I am. When purchasing this STILLA ULTIMATE COLOR PALETTE, I grabbed it because the price was right. Normally, before purchasing any beauty product, I research and get feed back from customers online and I visit beauty counters for swatches and samples to ensure that I'm making a wise purchase. Unfortunately, Stilla is not available on KAUAI so I wasn't able to do my normal swatching and the customer feedback that I did read about was for new Stilla items. Overall, my thoughts on this palette are FAIR. The palette includes 39 eye shadows, 15 lip colors, 4 cheek colors, applicators and brushes. Most of the eye shadows are hard to blend and very light in color even when adding 2 or 3 layers. The lip colors are nice and wearable. The Hawaiian temperature makes the lip colors very soft in their pans which can get a little messy when applying. The blushes I love but having them so close to the lip glosses without ample amount of room in between the two makes it so that I get gloss on my blush brush. My teen daughter has been using this palette and she likes it. The light pigment of each color makes it appropriate for school.

I loved the MYGLAM bag I received in March. I got a sample of the Pur-lisse pur-lip comfort daily lip nourisher that I would have never purchased because I was not familiar with the brand and had never heard of it before. I have used it many times since receiving it and I love it because it works really well. The bag also included a $25 gift card to Dermstore which could be used toward any $50 purchase. I did make a purchase about a month after receiving my bag and paid $27 for $53 worth of product. Overall, I was very pleased with my subscription purchase.

MAC TINTED LIP CONDITIONER SPF 15

For several weeks I've been using the MAC TINTED LIP CONDITIONER SPF 15 in the colors petting pink and fuchsia fix. This lip conditioner is a lot like my favorite Mac lip gloss. I wrote about it a while ago at Island Style Weekly. The link for that review can be used HERE. The consistency is just about the same the only difference I feel is the SPF protection which is very important at this time of year in Hawaii. This product gets an EXCELLENT rating because it's very good to my lips. Both colors keep my lips moisturized like a healing lip balm, the colors are very wearable for everyday wear both day and night, I love the durable container it comes in ( I dropped one recently on hard tile and there is no damage to the container ), the price is so right on, $15 for each, and you get .5 fl oz of lip conditioner. That's a very generous amount for the cheap price.

For a couple of weeks I've been using a shower and bath gel in one of my most favorite scents of all time. I visited the GRAND HYATT KAUAI RESORT AND SPA for lunch and couldn't leave without stopping at the ANARA SPA beauty shop for a bottle of COCO MANGO BATH & SHOWER GEL. I've visited the spa many, many times and fell in love with the bath gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion that is supplied at the spa during a day of pampering the first time I used it many years ago. It's a bit pricey but what I do is pick up a bottle when I can and rotate between each one. The Coco Mango blend is made exclusively for Anara Spa and it truly is a refreshing tropical escape in your bath or shower with its signature blend of fruit and botanical extracts. I give this product an EXCELLENT rating. As a purchaser, I would purchase this product more often if it was more budget friendly but then again, I did purchase it from the Grand Hyatt. Everything is expensive at the Grand Hyatt. In the future, when I visit the Anara Spa again, I will write about my experience and share photos either here at Island Stylicious or at ISLAND STYLE WEEKLY.

LANCOME DUAL FINISH

Back in October 2011, I wrote about my last Lancome compact. The write up for that can be read using this LINK. I loved that compact. I went through it way too fast because I used the compact powder puff that it comes with most of the time instead of a brush. I purchased a new Lancome compact in February 2012 and have been using it everyday since I purchased it. At the time I was also looking for a foundation so I decided to go with the DUAL FINISH VERSATILE POWDER MAKEUP because it could be used dry for a soft matte effect or sponged on damp for a high coverage ultra matte effect. I've been using it dry to achieve a sheer soft matte effect and have been loving the all natural look that this powder gives me. I used it a couple of times sponged on damp for high coverage but I don't like the look that it gives me. For Hawaii, I'm in natural light most of the day so anything that looks like I have a lot of makeup on is a big no no for me. The high coverage look would be appropriate for someone that is indoors all day. Overall, I give this product a GOOD rating for it's 2 in one use and high quality compact and packaging. I was told by the Lancome associate that if I wasn't completely satisfied, I could return it. So Lancome gets good points by me which is why I'm a returning customer time and time again. To make this product an excellent one, I would have liked the matte effect to last longer. Typically I can get a matte look for 2 hours depending on the day and humidity. However, I did purchase the powder knowing it didn't offer oil and shine control. Would I purchase this product again? Oh yes.

SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER LIGHT

Until I find the perfect foundation primer, I will be purchasing trial sized bottles. I found the SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER LIGHT available at Sephora in a .5 fluid ounce size. A friend recommended it to me and said it would give my oily skin a matte finish. I've been using this product daily for several weeks. I do like that this primer gives my skin a soft base to work with before applying my foundation. It dries very fast and it hasn't given me any skin irritations or breakouts. After 2-3 hours of wear, I do have to blot my forehead and later after a couple more hours my nose and chin with a blotting paper to absorb the oil that has produced. I'm giving this product a FAIR rating. For the $16 that I spent for the trial size and the price of a full sized bottle, I find it to be too expensive for the amount of hours I do get a matte finish. When purchasing this product, I was lured by the words MATTE FINISH ALL DAY. This product does not give me that.

E.L.F. STUDIO SHIMMER PALETTE

Another palette that I borrow from my teenage daughter from time to time is the E.L.F. STUDIO SHIMMER PALETTE. The cream consistency from each color makes it very easy and quick for me to highlight my cheek bones or inner eye lids if I'm in a rush. This product gets a GOOD rating for its very low price of $3 and sleek casing and because all of the colors work with my olive skin. The only thing I would improve is the slight creamy feel that is left on my skin after application. I do wish it had more of a powdery finish once dry.

E.L.F. STUDIO ENDLESS EYES PRO MINI EYESHADOW PALETTE

This is my teenage daughters palette but I borrow it from her all the time because the warm colors are perfect for day time wear. The light coverage from the lighter colors as well as the darker colors give me just the right amount of color on my eye lids to achieve a natural look. Paired with a good eyeshadow primer, the color lasts all day. There are 17 matte colors and 15 shimmery colors to choose from. The best part about this palette is the $5 sticker price. This product gets a GOOD rating. I would have given it a higher rating if the colors blended excellently and if the plastic cover was a little better quality. For more information, visit E.L.F.
